Nice game. I like the mood of the game and enjoyed playing. Unfortunately, in the end when everything went black, I was not sure if the game was over, because there were no bugs or light anymore.

ifidamas 2021-04-28 09:18

@tankou thank you so much for your kind comment; unfortunately, the first build we submitted had some issues related to the fact that we used an experimental package in unity for the lights...

We have fixed the bug now, and I invite you to try the new version into Dora's mind!

PS: your game is super cute!!! I loved it!

haardy 2021-04-28 09:32

Nice calm game, enjoyed the thematic approach of psychological deepness. I did miss some kind of feedback upon death, as I was immediately sent back to the main menu. Also, perhaps the game could have focused more on the psychological part of the game, maybe some dialog or story that progresses while the player moves deeper into the ocean.

This is an artistic masterpiece! The graphics are simply amazing and the music adds so much depth to the atmosphere. The gameplay is simple, but that's not what I was focusing on. I tried to immerse myself into that beautifully crafted world. The only problem I had with this game was very low FPS, maybe around 10 or 15. But other than that, one of the prettiest games I've played so far.

3dflow 2021-04-28 09:38

Love the mood and the art ! (it looks like the game sometimes freezes when you die)

ifidamas 2021-04-28 09:42

@haardy Thank you very Much! Actually, we had plans about almost everything you said, but we experienced a lot of technical problems (comprising a git issues that crashed our entire project and shut down our work for almost 4 hours on monday), so we were totally unable to put many things inside the game... we had many other arts we weren't abla to fit in (available in the git repo, we will problably share them just for fun in the descriptions)

etom 2021-04-28 09:42

Wow! I really loved the mood. Maybe I would appreciate if the controlling would be with a little bit more latency.

ifidamas 2021-04-28 09:44

@iluvatar Thank you very much! The artists in the group are really happy about your nice comments, and we are ablosutely plesed by their job! Unfortunately, we have additional arts we weren't able to put into the game because of... issues.

For the FPS... The problem is the size of the game... sorry!

Interesting game,it is relaxing and demanding at the same time. Unfortunately I couldn't compete the game. I followed the glowing jelly fish but after some time it led me into an area wher I couldn't follow it because my bubble was too big, maybe I did something wrong. (I played the new version)

I like the music, it is very relaxing and soothing.

sanemsky 2021-04-28 09:46

I loved the atmosphere. The visuals are great. It felt a little laggy, I don't know if it's because of my computer or not but FPS felt really low. But after a while you get used to it :) Unfortunately I got stuck :( was there something else that I sholud have done? Screenshot_1.png

First of all, I only played the fixed version of the game and not the release version. I really liked the art, it is lovely. The music (although I think it wasn't original, since you opted out of the category?) is simple but supports the graphic style and helps in setting the mood, which is the strongest point of the game in my opinion. I also really liked how you interpreted the theme of the jam, so big props for that! That said, the life mechanic feels a bit unpredictable: at times you take little to no damage and other times massive amounts, with virtually no change in speed and impact angle (at least that's how i perceived it). Also, I get it that you wanted to slow down the pace and let players immerse in this nicely crafted atmosphere, but I think the gameplay was steered a bit too much towards rewading a slow and careful approach. Finally, I personally feel that if the release version is completely broken (as you put it), you probably should have taken more time for playtesting the build before release. I don't, but I know there are people in this community that do not play bug-fixed versions and only rate what you release within the deadline of the competition (and, to be honest, it's an understandable and fair way of giving feedbak)... But all in all, those are just minor criticisms/suggestions and I really enjoyed the experience as a whole. Great job to everyone involved, I hope more people will play and rate your game! Cheers

Nice music and ambiance. The concept is cool, it would be nice to have other ennemies, I've only met some in the beginning.

After coming a long way I had a problem for crossing a passage. I could not pass this passage and I died, I do not know if it was done on purpose or if the colliders were too close together.unknown.png

ifidamas 2021-04-28 12:30

@nablaz Thank you for your comment and feedback!

About the music: yes, it is not original; we have put now the credits in the page. We specifically pick those (royalty free) songs exactly for the melancholic mood. We love them.

The damage should have been proportional to the speed at the moment of the collision, but clumped to a max of half-life. It didn't work out so... *it's not a bug, it's a feature!*

As a said in a previous comment, we had a lot of technical issues, both with Unity and Git, and it compromised our work, especially in the time-management area. We apologize for that.

ifidamas 2021-04-28 12:33

@klon160 , @ydrenor @sanemsky Thank you for your comments!

I don't know what's going on, it should have been walkable (at least in the in-unity test). It has to be veeeery close, to give a bit of "dark-souls like difficulty", that mimic the difficulty every human being has in exploring his/her/their deep phsycology.

But it should have been feasible to pass thorugh!!! There is also a special sprite object for the ending, that gives meaning to the whole "going deep"-mood, so, it should have been absolutely traversable! We are looking for fixing this bug after our daily job. stay tuned!

fractal 2021-04-28 21:10

A bit too laggy unfortunately, but very nice atmosphere and the music fits perfectly!

doctortm 2021-04-28 23:32

Great mood, loved the art. The music added a lot. In the beginning it felt a bit boring. I kept going just straight down. But at the first curve everything changed. Great jam guys!

ondy1985 2021-04-29 10:18

The mood of this game is great, the music fits perfectly to the slow pace of the game. What I didn't like was the unresponsive controls. I know it's probably by design, but it felt kinda weird as if I am not controlling the character at all. Also, I am missing some kind of feedback when the character dies. The game just resets to beginning, which is kind of confusing and first few times I thought it's a bug.

ynk 2021-04-29 10:24

Mood, art and music are awesome, too bad the gameplay itself is so simple and lack of depth

smiley405 2021-04-29 10:34

A deep emotional game theme with a really good music & graphic, plain and simple yet fun to play gameplay.

psv-games-studio 2021-04-29 11:21

Very cool game! well done mechanics and very beautiful graphics and the music provides an even better experience!

j0ye 2021-04-29 11:22

The graphics were very atmospheric, but at the same time failed a bit, because the contrast of the environment and the background was so extremely low. I played the game for a long time and enjoyed it a lot, but after a time i started the question what the point of it all was. No real context and no progression. I believe the game is missing some sort of progress bar or something to show the players advancement more, or else it is just an idle game for a very beautiful piano piece.

xparker 2021-04-29 18:52

at one stage I could barely see the border.

Great ambience, lovely music. I loved every second of it.

ivan-nosov 2021-05-03 21:16

Very atmospheric musical composition. Deep concept.
