Run, U Fool! by zgragselus 2017-08-02T11:33:37Z
I don't really felt the connection with the theme. Beside that, nice graphics, nice mood :) The concept of the game is also very interesting, playing with the color to get out of a maze. Nice entry!

Nice cars and nice little GTA-like game :)
A little bit redundant, but the concept has the potential to be improved into a really good game !
Those graphics are pretty neat! I really like the hand drawn games like this one :)
You should pay attention to the color you use. A orange/red thing to collect is a bit weird. Generally, the red color means danger, so instinctively I tend to avoid these kind of items. If I didn't see the fuel lowering down, I hadn't had the idea to collect those red items :) For a first game, this is not a bad game! Keep learning, keep trying, that's the only way to do! ;)
I really liked this game :) nice arts and gameplay. A bit redundant though. I think you can convert this game into a full adventure game! This base is not bad at all :)
A fighting game in a Ludum Dare, I never thought I could see this one day! I'll try to make one sometimes. Nice concept, I really enjoyed the game :) Some more polish could be great though!
wow @sarrixx! thanks a lot for your video :) it's always grateful to actually see people enjoying the game! too bad you didn't manage to finish the game in the video, the controls are actually pretty tough haha. Thanks again!
I like the low-poly graphics, they are very neat. But a little more of work on the particles and the controls could have given the game a real bonus :) Nice one though!
That's a really nice story haha! It's making me feel kinda old now :P
That's a really nice story haha! It's making me feel kinda old now :P
I think the light is a bit under-used here. The robot "eats" light, but when there's no light left... well nothing really changes. Beside that, it's a great entry!
This is a hard one! Maybe some instructions could help a bit
Nice cookie-clicker like ;) the early game is pretty slow though, but the end game definitely is fun!
Nice game! Well, this is Deepnight for you ;) The game gets hard pretty quick but it is a lot of fun!
Definitely in-the-theme game :) An advice: you should give a color code to each size of items, because some of them looks bigger/smaller than they are and thus it is easy to get confused to find the right size of the box. The same for broken toys. This would make your game more intuitive :)
Nice game, but you should add more "juice" to reward the player upon killing monsters :) camera shaking, particles, things like that!
Thank you very much for your feedbacks! A lot of people complain about the lack of sounds and musics and we totally share your feeling. At first we planned to include them of course, but sadly we were a bit too short on time to do it. Maybe we'll post a post-LD version with musics, sounds and some small improvement to make the experience more pleasant :) Thank you again for your feedback!
I didn't expect to find a minesweeper gameplay with the theme "Keep it alive" but hey! that works :)
Excellent game! Smart, cute, balanced, a real pleasure tu play it :) The only missing thing really is the music :P
Very beautiful and touching game. I loved the art! :)
I didn't vote, because I really didn't understand the game... We can kind of move around, but what is the goal? What are we supposed to do? Where are we supposed to go? What is the connection to the theme? I guess these questions are part of what you wanted to achieve, but I guess I am simply not the target.
Very atmospheric game. Nice work on the light! The feeling is so real! Hard to understand how to get food and water though
A bit hard to understand what each item does. And I didn't find any item to fight the rats back..
I really enjoy the feeling of walking the phone around holding it by its cable :D Movements are a bit slow though making walking everywhere to gather batteries not the funniest part of the game. Nice one though!
Good concept, good mood, good job! :)
Soooooo clever idea! Reusing the chess game this way is so cool! The AI is a bit random though, so it is at the same time difficult to anticipate the next move but also very easy if the AI doesn't chase you. A more polished version of this game could definitely be very enjoyable to play! :D
Very nice graphics and mood, I would like to play a more complete version of this game :) For me, it was a bit too slow and limited. Maybe it would be better not to have to do so many there and back to the bonfire and the crafting table. Very good job though on this one, it definitely deserves an enhanced version! :)
The graphisms are great! Really love the look and the mood! I would prefer to be easier to scroll around the map though. It is hard to keep track of everybody when starting to go far away
The idea seems cool, but it is really hard to understand how to play and what the different card does.
Funny simple game! Some visual feedback would have been great to better understand the range and area effect of our attacks :)
WOW!! I didn't expect the game to turn that way on the last phase!! xD I really enjoyed the "adventure" part, with the exploration and stuff. Very well done! :)
Oh my god this music! :D Perfect mood! The game itself seems a bit buggy though. It was very difficult to trample the fire as most of the time putting Sean on the fire doesn't seem to do much. But thank you for the good laugh! :D
Wow, it is quite difficult right from the beginning! The idea is cool but I think it deserves a better polishing over the difficult curve :)
Hard to play and hard to understand. I tried to punch the buttons but most of the time nothing seemed to happen. Probably some deeper or more progressive explanations would help to undertstand the game :)
Thanks a lot for all your nice comments! :)
@seth-tal @duke @decipator we are completely aware of the lack of balancing and depth in the battles and progression. We actually were planning much more about this in the first place but... lack of time unfortunately! :) Maybe we'll work on a post-LD version, more polished and complete! Would you be interested in such a thing?
@3mpty yeah, we had problem synchronising sounds and music because of the sound engine of WebGL... some features available with Unity were not working in WebGL and so we had to patch it to make it kind of work... but indeed it is not perfect ^^' Next time, we'll surely also submit a Windows build or something which should be robust on this side!
@seth-tal thank you! I am very happy that you enjoy our work :) If we had the opportunity, we would also love to dig deep these ideas the Ludum Dare brought us :) Concerning lighting, we would like to have the time to work on it, but during a LD it is quite difficult to find the time to do so :D unfortunately there has to be some concession...
Good twist of the concept! I enjoyed to resolve this puzzle game, even though I stucked to level 7 or 8. Good art, good execution, good concept: very nice entry!
The concept is nice and fun, I can see you designed a lot of different puzzle mecanics which make the game quite deep and that's great! But the UX is not so great... Some elements have similar designs but interact differently with the ball or the player. You should improve the visual design to make the elements more understandable and different, so you don't need to write a tutorial on how to solve each level :) That would make the game rea~lly interesting!
It is really super hard to know when it is okay to stop to hide and to run ^^' Also, I am not sure I understood the "Stuck in the loop" part... :x
@arron-fowler I see! I wasn't skilled enough to make this far I guess
Haha nice usage of the theme "Stuck in the (hyper)loop"! The game is crazy beautiful and the mood, reinforced by the music and sound design, is amazing. Really well done! A little complain though: in the dark, it is very hard to see close enemies because of the way the light works. I don't know how it would be better, but the contrast of light makes it hard to understand what is just in front of us. Otherwise, really nice job!
The game idea is pretty simple and makes me think about "Among Us". It would have been nice to add a little twist to this gameplay to reinforce the "loop" concept. Like a way to break this loop, to end this endless slavery :)
Very cool backstories that kept me scrolling to find out how they end! The high pitched SFX are a bit annoying but that is clearly a detail :)
The game becomes hard quite fast! Some enemies can shoot you even if you don't see them... Maybe this shouldn't be allowed? All in all, this is quite a nice arcade game! :)
Thanks for the feedbacks @squidsheep, @camden-obertop and @ninjacatz! There are a loooot of issues we are aware of, on implementation AND on game design. We wish we had 2 days more to polish this game! We hope you enjoyed the game nonetheless!
Total 5 stars, incredible experience. The mood, the immersion, the game design, the choices you made to make the game confusing and yet readable... I am truly impressed by your game.
Very nice execution, good mood, I played quite long. The only thing I dislike is that the gameover is super brutal! haha I want to keep on exploring, but a single touch and it is gameover? that's a bit rough
I really love the idea to use video games to communicate about deep matters like this. I ould love to de the same. But concerning the game itself, mixing a runner and a gaphic novel is a great idea, but the lack of difficulty (it is possible de stop your brother even before the first line of dialog) kind of ruin the game experience... Better settings to make the game a bit more challenging are needed, in my opinion.
Veeeery good idea! I love how you mixed plateformer and bubble shotter games! :id: Really nicely done! Little improvement: in the last part of game, when the screen is going down, it would be nice if the camera could follow the player in the case that he goes faster than the scrolling ;)
Thank you for your feedback guys!
@wrexialmt some other people had the same problem... But for most people, the sounds work just fine. So I don't understand :O I will invistigate on that when I'll have some time. Concerning controls, I agree that ideally, they should be completely reconfigurable... If we work on this game later, it will definitely an option we will add :) Thank you for our feedback!
