Super interesting concept. It's harsh but it appears to be by design. Love the visuals

Super interesting concept. It's harsh but it appears to be by design. Love the visuals
thanks @jantunes it's indeed one of the harshest games we've ever made - because of multiple design choices - but it was done so deliberately, as it wouldn't provoke the emotions we were looking for otherwise
liked it
I love the graphics, but I'm not a big fan of how the characters change when you move.
The rogue ascii style is great, but spamming arrows to move isn't a good gamefeel feature. I also have a bad visual representation of the environment, which I'm loosing myself.
was a bit hard to play, but it has a great deep meaning and feel to it
hi @curtis-pelissier we actually had implemented key holding and dis-implemented it, because it went against the concept of the game. I totally agree with you that it's a terrible feature from a gamefeel perspective - but we actually intended too sacrifice feel-design and attempt to capture something a bit different
Sadly I got totally lost in the prison and even with the guide and after 10 minutes I didn't find an exit. Did you let somebody testplay the game? Maybe that would've been a good idea.
Nontheless, I really **liked the idea itself**, also the design and the character (letter) animation ;)
Just a heads up: I scanned the windows 1.1 file using VirusTotal and two of the apps said that it detected a Trojan. It's not clear that it wasn't just a heuristic, but maybe rebuild the Windows build just in case?
Google Chrome is also blocking the download too.
Lovely graphics and animations that marries well with the amazing concept.
I didn't vote, because I really didn't understand the game... We can kind of move around, but what is the goal? What are we supposed to do? Where are we supposed to go? What is the connection to the theme? I guess these questions are part of what you wanted to achieve, but I guess I am simply not the target.
wonderful game and worth to play.😊
Original aesthetics.
Managed to reach the black wall with the shadow after going around through the maze for 10 minutes, but failed to find any path that would allow me to go further.
A more complete guide would be a nice thing for testing purposes, to be able to see the full content of the game without spending hours lost in a maze.
Did not manage to finish this game, but I really enjoyed the art style and the experience.
@vladadamm once you reach the black wall, keep going up and you will find a space that was occluded
@koljam we're sorry the game caused you that much frustration :/ - we did play-test it exhaustively, though
is anyone else's anti-virus detecting a trojan like @davidsheadgames ?
@ynk we ask that you please give it another shot :) did you read the help guide?
The visual concept is so great. Maze itself with those changing signs is mesmerising. Lots of fun playing this one.
Loved the visuals, but could not finish the game. The experience was surreal.
@ballipilla @koljam @thecze @vladadamm would you be interested in us making a more exhaustive walkthrough? it sort of defeats the point of the game, but it might help some players finish it, which is also the point of it after all
I'm not really sure I would enjoy using a walkthrough to play the game, maybe for the first section to get a player started?
Nice concept, I specially like how you don't see the hallways until you are at the corner. But my hand hurts a bit :/
@thecze For those who don't mind being spoiled, here's an initial guide to get you going to the start of the game Whenever you die / are born, you will randomly spawn in one of the red circles. Your goal is in the blue arrow's direction.

I like the idea although it took me some time to notice that the signs in the center of the screen is player. Also, my eyes hurt after playing more than 5 minutes :P
@thecze think of the glyphs on the screen as colors. everytime you are reborn, you will be given a new set of eyes. therefore, you will see everything with new colors. everytime you start your journey, you will be disoriented, confused - your eyes will eventually adapt, you will eventually start parsing not only what you see, but what you don't see. as you'll become more aware of your surroundings, you will also be more aware of yourself. at some point, you'll start valuing your life more and more, and after a certain point you'll start valuing it less and less.
I loved this concept! I loved the graphics and the feeling of the game, although it was a bit hard and I got lost after some time :P Overall it is a cool entry, congrats!
Hope you realize the game is unfinishable even with the guide :P
I had fun no matter what and enjoyed it, though.
Nice concept and idea but it was too difficult to understand the gameplay.. I think, I didn't even manage to pass the first level... Nonetheless, its a very artistic game, very beautiful and atmospheric and the sounds were very fitting.. Good job!
Interesting game. I included it in my Ludum Dare 46 compilation video series, if you want to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/LDazM6iYHxE
