Nice graphics and a kinda attaching main character but what I like the most is the light, this makes us go charging the robot just to see again what's surrounding us which is some nice game design! Well done!

manumeq 2017-08-01 11:51

Really nice graphics, appealing main character, interesting gameplay and really good Portal vibes in those puzzles. Really nice work!

xerahim 2017-08-01 11:56

Dank memes

mrerdalural 2017-08-01 12:03

Very good puzzle game. Oh and also why did the robot get angry?

Thank you for the game!

uzyfeo 2017-08-01 12:45

Judging by the names, you are from Czech Republic aren't you? :)

Anyway, game plays nice, graphics and audio are really good. After a while, the puns got a little annoying but overall they were surely nice addition.

Pěkná práce hoši! (Good job guys!)

pcmaster 2017-08-01 12:54

Hahaha, the jokes got me :D Rust in peace. Your lips say zero but your mind thinks one... The controls and mechanics are good, the puzzles challenging, well done!

david-greene 2017-08-01 12:59

I have to echo @solah's comment - the game mechanic is awesome. I like how you run out of energy, but you're not racing a clock, you just are hampered by not having your light. Well thought up!

zdeno 2017-08-01 13:41

@mrerdalural I completely sympathize with him.. I would have red glow too, if I'd be forced to live in the dark and constantly avoid lava and lasers :grinning:

@uzyfeo To si piš, svět je malej :grinning:

Thank you all for you amazing feedback!

jackyjjc 2017-08-01 13:50

Great puzzle game.

Graphics - amazing, the 3d environments looks nice, character animation was great. I've also notice the floor texture was very high quality as well, same with the lighting effect.

Sound, Ambient music - background music was there, doesn't feel intruding, great. The lines and jokes said by the robot was funny, make the repetitive trial and error a lot more fun.

Gameplay - Love the fact that even though there was no tutorial, the game make use of visual indications and common patterns to teach the player how to play the game. It was fantasic. However, I still don't get the pushing box mechanics. There was one level with 2 doors and you have to push the boxes into the lava to make way to those doors. Even though I finished that level, I still didn't quite understand why sometimes I can push the boxes and sometimes I can't. It seems to have something to do with the triggers but I couldn't really tell. For example, when there were 3 boxes in a row, I couldn't push the middle one first, I have to push the one on the trigger first. I still don't get that.

I got stuck at the level where there are 2 lasers and I have to cross. It seems like there aren't enough boxes but since you've designed the level, I assume that there must be a solution but I couldn't figure it out. Maybe I will come back tomorrow and see if I can beat it.

Love the game overall, I spent half an hour trying to figure out the puzzles and it was rewarding to get this far. Very well done!

zdeno 2017-08-01 15:35

@jackyjjc Hi, I love to hear that you liked our game

About the box mechanics..I quess you speak about level 6. The idea is that some boxes are related to certain triggers and when the trigger is active, those boxes are locked in place. The problem is that we didn't have enough time to create visual clues for this kind of mechanic, which made it hard to understand it :slight_frown: ..(this will be fixed in later versions :grinning: )

Every level in the game have a solution. The one with lasers have just enough boxes to make it through, I hope you'll come back to beat it :grinning:.

Interesting game mechanics and nice graphics, I really liked the robots monotone voice. Found it hard to see what I was meant to be doing sometimes

daydreamerstudios 2017-08-01 19:25

Great Visuals and lighning. The levels are good designed. Keep up the good work!

rickylaghi 2017-08-01 21:53

Nice puzzle gaming, but after a couple levels it becomes quite repetitive, i didnt feel too much the theme "running out of energy". The robot was funny tho and the graphic design is interesting, i appreciate the lights and the glowing colors.

prettylucky 2017-08-01 22:37

Some of the robot jokes were funny, but it got old for me pretty quickly (especially the repeats). Why not have him run into characters and use the jokes in conversations with lady-robots? x)

martintristan 2017-08-02 11:02

Great graphics and the lighting's really cool. Good puzzles and funny too! Great game for this jam.

catbutt 2017-08-02 11:13

nice little puzzle game

thewgbbroz 2017-08-02 11:17

Nice game, fun jokes.

ynk 2017-08-02 11:25

I think the light is a bit under-used here. The robot "eats" light, but when there's no light left... well nothing really changes. Beside that, it's a great entry!

zdeno 2017-08-02 12:06

Thank you all for your feedback!

It's feels good to see that you guys enjoyed playing our game!

@prettylucky Yeah, the joke rate is too damn high.. The robot would surely like to meet up with some lady-robots :grinning: We will think about that!

@ynk In earlier versions the robot would die without energy, but the game begun too difficult to play. :slight_frown: Now the light has mainly two purposes: * To show your level of energy, which is now only needed to push blocks around, but we hope we will make it more impactfull in later versions. * To make it more challenging for a player to solve our puzzles. Without light you don't see too much and you need to memorize layout and think ahead.

apple-dash 2017-08-02 12:06

Decent puzzle game, though I have some problems with it. Theme was a bit underplayed. Lack of light is more of an annoyance, than an actual obstacle, especially because you have to return to the light switch so often, yet it's not difficult. And jokes. Jesus Christ, those jokes

yetman 2017-08-02 15:25

A truly fun game. I like that joking little robot. Although I am not a fan of the visual style, I like how you used the lighting and how it helped set the mood. In general, the game is really fun to play.

splashshadow 2017-08-02 18:37

Very good game. Solid gameplay process. One things - camera placed too close to player.

jannes-nagel 2017-08-02 19:11

Really nice puzzle design. It gets really tricky quickly. I could have used a bit more feedback on the energy level.

But really well done overall!

sythgara 2017-08-02 19:18

I enjoyed the puzzles and the character. You even gave him a little personality which is cool. Not a fan of a long intro though. Felt a little padded.

michaeltwg 2017-08-02 19:20

Very nice, puzzles are cool, robot speeches are excellents. Maybe it lack feedback to better understand the lack of energy

sgstair 2017-08-02 23:54

Really nice puzzle game, especially for a first LD. Once I understood the mechanics the game was pretty fun to play. The "running out of power" mechanic really detracted more than it added in this case, especially because some of the puzzles seemed to rely on it, and you had such limited pushes. I noticed you have music linked but I didn't notice any music actually playing, was this a bug?

Some suggestions to make this more interesting are: * (Obviously) duct tape for the robot's mouth :P Lower frequency of puns, or only do it when the robot is not moving / idle for a few seconds, or maybe on level completion. * Use some other indication rather than the light level for the robot's power. It would have been nicer to have more light all the time * One possibility is to make the charge last for a certain number of block pushes, rather than just a number of moves. This would lead to different kinds of puzzles related to the power limit. * I do really like the idea of blocks sitting on the activated power line being magnetically/electrically locked in place, which is slightly different than the mechanic you implemented but it'd be pretty easy to understand and visually show.

I played this on stream at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/163826993 - Time 1:29:30

peter-sheehan 2017-08-03 00:12

Cute Sokoban style game, but I got stuck on one of the puzzles towards the end. I also really liked the art style and the little puns the robot spat out, though yeah, they were a little excessive in the sex jokes department.

cnoble 2017-08-03 01:32

Awww if there was a desk version of that little robot I would pick one up. He was adorable! Good puzzles and excellent theme structure!! My only complaint would be the player movement felt just a little clunky. Sometimes I wanted him to move all the way up, sometimes I wanted him to move one up and he would do the exact opposite of what I was thinking. Other than that, great graphics, theme, humor/spunk, and vibe. Thanks for the fun experience :)

wheffle 2017-08-03 16:22

This sure is piece of work! Those jokes! Decent puzzles, was pretty entertaining, although I think the light mechanic was a little shoe-horned in and didn't contribute a whole lot to the experience. Wonderful graphics and, well, awesome main character haha! So unexpectedly hilarious. I'll say though that a little less frequent jokes would probably help the feature to have more impact and last longer :P

rightangel 2017-08-03 22:35

So funny! Very nice game!

xsior 2017-08-03 22:44

Fun game, jokes were killing it :D. Text could use proof check but that beyond the point, ain't nobody got time for that. Running back to restore power felt like the chore. Maybe by adding things that you can do only whe you are low on poer or by adding real danger when you are low could change that. But the game has it charm and character and this is not easy thing to achive when low on time.

angela-he 2017-08-04 02:10

Huge amount of quality puzzles/content. Adorable voice (did you use a generator, and which, if you don't mind sharing? :P). I feel like whoever made this are professionals; I think this might be one of the better LD submissions. My only advice is to increase the number of voiced jokes so the player doesn't have to hear the same one many times, but I understand the time limit. This is really, really great for LD Jam. Congrats.

PS I adore the start screen. I've only seen interactable start screens in a few games - the world needs more! :P

zdeno 2017-08-04 08:26

Once again..thank you all for your feedback! :grinning:

@sgstair Thanks for playing our game on stream. To see someone playing our game is even more rewarding. Also amazing suggestions, TYVM!

@cnoble We were happy that he was moving at all :grinning: But yeah, movement does really need some polishing.

@angela-he Thank you  About the start screen..using interactivity actually saved us a lot of time. We already had mechanics implemented so it was easier to create "start screen level", instead of creating more content just for opening scene. For robot voice we used this http://www.oddcast.com/home/demos/tts/tts_example.php Alan with higher pitch may seem familiar

aurel300 2017-08-05 10:39

We streamed your game with Danae plays on Twitch. :) Here's a link:

[Danae streams Ludum Dare 39: Day 2, part 1: Step out of the light](https://youtu.be/bhOEvC7XxZo?t=1h38m11s)

Very cheesy / corny, but fun to play and discover the various jokes. As mentioned in the stream, while it was probably there to make sure the game fit the theme, I didn't feel that the running out of power mechanic added anything to the game – I simply had to keep going back and forth instead of solving the puzzle directly. Also, I would have loved the ending music track to be the actual soundtrack (with fewer "jokes" to interrupt it) – it was pretty good.

Overall, good job guys :)

flobar 2017-08-05 12:11

The jokes in this game are so lame but funny. The game was pretty fun as well. Good job.

defratino 2017-08-05 16:42

Great game! I have nothing bad to say about it, great job.

meatmachine 2017-08-05 18:03

I like zelda-esq block pushing puzzles so this was pretty fun! I can't quite grasp why the robot has the same texture as the lava(?) but the jokes added some character to the game and the puzzles were well thought-out. Good job!

siegfriedcroes 2017-08-06 16:17

Very nice presentation. Both visuals and audio are well done. The puzzles are really cool too. Well done :)

elizabeth-thomas 2017-08-06 18:21

I love this silly pervy robot. The binary joke made me laugh so hard I fell in lava. The graphics are beyond amazing.Game play is fun, I like that it reminds me of portal.

bombjack 2017-08-12 10:15

the graphics are nice but the gameplay is a little confusing.

mrtroy 2017-08-12 20:14

Oooh, I really loved this entry. I had trouble figuring out if the lights going out meant I was going to lose or something, so I would take a few steps... push... run back to the light switch... repeat. Wasn't until the very last level that I found out, the robot simply won't push things if there isn't enough energy.

I loved the jokes that are heard throughout. A little thing like voice acting takes a game a long way in my heart. It certainly made solving the puzzles a lot more entertaining.

akiko 2017-08-16 06:20

I really enjoyed this puzzle game. Thanks for making it!
