Water pump madness (with bombs) by abckissa 2016-08-31T13:22:00
Fun game idea. I liked it. There were some problems with the UI.
Player 2 score extends out of the screen and rounds never end.
Good job! Congratulations

Fun game idea. I liked it. There were some problems with the UI.
Player 2 score extends out of the screen and rounds never end.
Good job! Congratulations
Pretty cool idea. Nice artwork!
Jump controls were terrible though and there is no multiplayer!? I want my money back! xD
Good job! I had fun thank you!
Simple and fun gameplay. Great artwork and music. Well done congratulations!
Nice artwork. Loved that you referenced Phillip K. Dick.
Nice concept. It's always nice to see management/survival games.
I have one criticism though. UI must be improved.
Well done! Good Job!
Same thoughts with @havaker
Firstly you should have used a cylinder body for the player gameobject instead of a box one. Collision prevents the player from turning around when you are too close to another body.
Puzzles gpals were clear and it's a good thing but the animation wait time was really annoying.
I did not see the point of carrying a torch since it barely lit up anything.
Textures and sound effects were pretty good. I liked the atmosphere too. Good job!
I keep a score board on the link below if you want to challenge us ;)
http://ludumdare.com/compo/2016/08/30/the-wheel-challenge-the-dev/
@RafaSKB did you play it on fantastic quality setting? I know that happens when you play it on a lower graphics setting.
@Spinach - Unfortunately we could not test the game on mac. But some of my friends were able to play it.
@HeuGamer - did you play it on a 16:9 aspect ratio?
@Rico The Jammer - Thanks for the criticism I will note them for a post-jam verstion.
@blubberquark it can in some cases where you are about to die. Wheel slows down when it has to go through objects since it has to break the object first.
Nice game i liked the mechanics a lot. Good job!
There is a problem with the build. I get this error on chrome.
UnityLoader.js:1 GET https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/191765/YouInventedFireWebGL/Release/YouInventedFireWebGL.js 404 ()
You should check it out.
Good idea and potential. I loved the sprites. Though I would not have chosen a tile based game system for this kind of game.
There are bugs and lags but I am sure you are aware of them.
Overall good job. Keep it up!
I found that the score you make is more about RNG than your decisions but i might be wrong on that one I'm not sure.
Also end turn button seemed unnecessary.
Graphics are really good and the game is overall fun.
Congratulations and thank you!
Theme, puzzles, game mechanics are incredible. I'm glad I came across to this one. Thank you!
Nice game idea but the way the traps works makes them too hard too anticipate and it was kind of frustrating.
Well done congratulations!
Graphics are beautiful, controls are simple, story is good. What more to expect from a point and click adventure.
Congratulations!
Avast found some problems with it so I couldn't run it at first.
Cool game! Congratulations!
Cool game. Great art and controls. Enemies jump a little too fast for my taste though. Played it to the end and it was fun.
Good Job! Congratulations!
Nicely done! I liked the funny ending a lot! Good job!
UI needs more work.
The game needs a goal in my opinion. Play or watch "swindle" for a good example. Gaining wealth should have a purpose.
Nice idea Good Job!
Great artwork. It's a shame I didn't understand what to do.
Nice progression idea. I found it a bit too fleshed out but that's pretty normal for a compo entry. I think you have got a nice base for a post event, development project.
Good job!
Controls are the challenge of this game. Spiders come too quickly and in huge numbers so its so hard to see whats after the first corner. Gameplay did not convince me to play for more than 5 runs.
Spider sprites were pretty good and I liked the creep ambient you went for.
You need to work more on the controls.
Also the art assets you used do not match up with each other. Try to make sure each pixel takes up the same amount of space in the screen.
Good job! Congratulations!
Good graphics! Well done.
Wasn't that much fun though.
This was the best entry I have played so far!!!
Great gameplay great graphics!
My only criticism is about the mouse controls. Right attack left attack buttons on keyboard would be easier to control since there are no ranged weapons as far as I have seen.
Good work! Keep it up!
Wow! Awesome graphics and mechanics!
@pfirsich I agree that game would be more fun with dodge some mechanic. I will keep that in mind. Thanks for the feedback.
@BoneDaddy I realize that the game needs a better indicator of hits than just audio feed back but I'could not come up with a good/fast way to implement one at the time.
@buckle2000 How do you swing a sword otherwise :P
@Michalidis Wow 6 is pretty good my best is 7th experiment and I got lucky with the enemy spawns that time.
Thanks a lot for the great feedback and criticism so far.
@Bellatrion and @Crafting4U yeah shurikens definitely needs some tweak. I don't want to increase their damage because they would be too OP but I might give them some crowd control effect like stun or slow.
Thank you for the feedback and the bug report!
@Tkachov I tested them they do deal damage. You must have destroyed it before it hit you.
Very interesting idea and very good game design. Thank you for this game!
I loved the way everything moves fast! It was fun. Thanks for the game!
Nice animations! Thank you for the game!
I just spammed the enemy spawners from far away while the enemy soldiers were distracted fighting for the center and I won. You should always try to avoid these kind of dominant strategies especially in a game like this.
I did not understand what the level and the money was for.
The color choices for the game and the floatiness of the characters makes this game look like air hockey rather than a battle game. White spawner is almost impossible to see.
Ignoring all that this game might have great potential for multiplayer. I'm thinking a 4 sided MOBA!
Thank you for the game! Keep it up!
Nice mixture between a cookie clicker and rock-paper-scissors. I really liked it.
It's too damn addictive!
There should be quicker way to restart a level because the levels has a lot of trial-error in them.
I think i found a dominant strategy in your game. Just stay on one of the corners of the room and spam shurikens towards the center.
The game needs more enemy types with unique AI. With them added this can turn in to a very addicting/fun game.
It was interesting only for a few seconds. It feels this game could improve with an objective or a puzzle.
Controls are not very clear but once I got them, I noticed that the game mechanics are actually very interesting. Thanks for the game!
I really liked the text. At first sight I though this was another one of these interactive books but I noticed its quite different. Thank you for the game!
It was hard to both read and keep the track of which object has popped up in the room so I ended up not reading the text at all. What was the game about? I really liked the graphics.
This was one of the better games I played this LD. Thank you for the game!
Really fun and intense! I liked it. Thank you for the game!
Very nice game good job!
Checkpoints would be nice. Nice game!
I really liked the last part. Very well done! Thank you for the game!
Very relaxing. Thank you for the game!
Sokoban with lazers! I love it!
I agree with @limered about the feedback. Just even adding a little knockback to the hits would make a lot of difference to the game.
I also found the game's pacing a bit too slow for my taste but you can ignore that. Every one has different tastes
Wow I did not expect that. This is amazing! Tank you for the game!
Really loved the amount of different enemies and allies. Fun mechanics. There is nothing to complain. This is a very good game!
I could not mute the music. The game is too repetitive to be interesting. Whether you catch the mouse or not has nothing to do with the player, it is only effected by RNG.
I liked the graphics and idea.
I didn't get the "One Room" theme of the game but splitting is a nice idea.
Nice story and graphics. Thanks for the game!
I had so much fun. I liked the game a lot. Enemy challenge level is perfect in my opinion. Character could be balanced to be stronger.
This is by far the most fun LD37 game I have played so far.
My only complaint is character prefers horizontal movement over vertical. You should change it so that last pressed direction key is dominant over the other.
At first had trouble understanding what the customers need but after a few tries the it became fun. Thank you for the game!
It was very much fun! Thank you for this game!
Really nice game overall. Thank you!
It is fun enough to make me play until I cleaned all the buggers. Good job! Thank you for the game!
I really liked the graphics and the theme. The combat mechanics are also good enough to make this game fun.
For attack and damage mechanics I would have prefer a different approach. The attack mechanic seems to work as a damage over time mechanic. Instant hit damage with some knockback effect would make it feel more like a melee attack and feel much more satisfying for the player in my opinion.
Wow! Very creative and fun! Thank you for the game!
I loved the animations and the game play. It was very much fun. Thank you for the game!
I cant seem to be able to shoot the bad guys.
This game reminds me of Conway's game of life. AI seems pretty simple but it was enough for it to be interesting to watch and interact with.
Hahaha! Funny game! I actually played this at work to lower my stress levels.
This might be the most annoying game I have ever played. Good job hahaha!
Really nice presentation of the classic Zelda genre. I had trouble jumping over the spikes.
I liked how you were able to create a lot of puzzles with this simple mechanics. For some reason this game reminded me of Adventure Time. I have no idea why though.
The game has good potential but it is needs some refinement.
I found that the bullets are too hard to dodge. Mainly because they are transparent (hard to see) and the player has a huge hit box.
You should have included at least one alternative weapon (could have been a power up) and some way of restoring hp.
Very interesting idea though. Good job!
It was very hard to understand what is going on.
I would have prefer numpad for controls. I accidentally pressed S key to go east a couple of times.4
I liked the game very much! Thank you for the game!
It was a really fun game! Almost addicting. You scaled the difficulty level extremely well. Amazing game thank you for making it!
Understanding the game took way too longer than it should be. I felt tempted to just skip this. A tutorial is a must for this game in my opinion. I really liked the graphics (which kept me playing) and once I got the controls I liked the overall game too. Thank you for making this game!
I really liked the pixel art of the game. The game seems to have a lot to offer in terms of play time. Thank you for making this game!
Add some more tension into this game, some weird ass story and a few interesting new mechanics like wall run or just jumping sections this can be the next super hot! I really liked the idea only thing missing for me was the story. Thank you for creating this game!
Nice graphics and good gameplay. Thank you for the fun game!
Cute and fun little game. I think the game is a bit too short. I would love to see you tell a longer story with similar mechanics. I will check the other games you shared on your itch account later. Thank you for making this game!
I really liked the level design and how you turned a few simple sprites in to an actual game! There were some issues with the collision of bouncing pads when the ball was moving too fast. Thank you for making this game, I enjoyed it!
I really liked the game even though the idea is very simple. You have executed it very well. I played until the end and it was a fun experience. Thank you for sharing this game with us!
A bit too hard for me but it might be a lot of fun for a lot of other more skilled players. Thank you for the game!
Bullet hit feedback would be nice for the game and also a mute button. Shooting sound was funny for the first two waves but it became annoying quickly afterwards. I wish you had spiced up this game with some experimental mechanic. Well there is not much to say the name speaks for the game. Thank you for making it!
@Takusan thank you for the feedback. Actually you need to orbit around a planet for a while to get the whole text but may be I should increase the distance where the communication starts and breaks. I'm not sure if it would be ok if i update the game for that kind of change right now since the event time is over and this does not exactly count as a bug.
@andrew-castillo We know about the close planet message overriding issue. Actually we are preparing for a post LD version and a WebGL port that optimizes the game, fixes a few bug and changes how the messages displayed.
Thanks everyone for the great feedback! I will comment and rate all of your games too!(@andrew-castillo)(@takusan)(@scornz)(@gao-ming)(@realitycheck)(@ursigames)(@fedor)(@xmatos)
The game was fun and the gameplay was solid. The problem I had with the game was it was too much of a standard top-down shooter. Yes there were some small innovations like next level falling down and killing you but it still felt like another top-down shooter.
I had fun playing the game nevertheless so thank you for making and sharing this game!
This looks like a promising start for a good space RPG. Making space navigation 2D was a great call since 3rd dimension does not actually add much to the exploration aspect of the game and it may make space controls overly complicated. I still think that the number of buttons needed to navigate can be decreased though. I really enjoyed playing it. Thank you for making this game!
I liked the idea. With more time put into this, it could really turn into an interesting management game. Thank you for sharing this game.
Controls need a lot of polishing but i liked the general game mechanics. Concept you choose is a unique one that also a +. I liked what you created overall. Thank you for making this game!
I think the game is a little hard to get into playing it (especially since its multiplayer only) so you are at big a disadvantage when it comes to judging your game. I had a look at it alone for now and loved the graphics and how you generated the planet (I will make sure to look at your code too!). I will try to find someone to play this with so I can rate your game more fairly. But for now you have given me some code to study so thanks a lot for that!
Very solid game. Good mechanics. I enjoyed playing it. I wish there were some block and combo moves and more weapons but time limitation is hard! This could turn into a good multiplayer game. Thank you for making this game!
Fun little roguelike. At first I had some travel with understanding how rocks travel but once you get how it works the fighting aspect became a fun puzzle. Thank you for creating this game!
I focused on eating single berry a day and fixing my boat. The game lasted 4 days. I never got to fishing or digging, only tool I needed was my axe. I liked the game and what you tried to with it but you should be careful about such obvious dominant strategies or the players will miss the depth of your game. It was a short but fun experience nevertheless. Thank you for creating this game!
This could turn into a fun little app. I don't mind that this might not be a game.
Puzzles were really good. I enjoyed the game and played it until the end. I wish i I could continue to play :) Thank you for making this game!
This is the best thing I have played on LD38! Thank you for making this game! This is way too good. Now I kinda feel bad looking at my game :D
Really good mechanics! The fact that the player is a square caused a very nice interaction with the physics. I also loved how you expended the looping level design. This was the best platformer I have played so far in LD38. Thank you for making this game!
I really enjoyed the humor of the game. Gameplay aspect wasn't exactly for my taste but it's very impressive you have done all this by yourself and I understand that a more complex game mechanic might just impossible to finish in time. Thank you for creating this game!
Hahahaha the opening text made me laugh! I dit not find much innovation but that's not necessarily a bad thing. You have made a solid top-down arena shooter that has a freaking boss fight! Everything about the game (the graphics, the story, the sound) seems consistent too. I would love to see this game improve post LD. Thank you for creating this game!
I noticed that aliens start invasion while you are reading the instructions text and it felt unfair. Aside from that the game is simple and interestingly fun! I would love to play this game again later if you improve it. Thank you for the game!
Best adventure game I have played in a game jam! I had a good laugh at the dialogue. Thank you for making this game, it was great!
It was a very fun way to convince people to clean your room for you. I noticed a few bugs (no pun intended) where bugs went through the walls but noting too serious. Some AI for the enemies would be nice. A great game overall thank you for making it!
I really liked the idea. I was surprised to see that a game as simple as this was very enjoyable. Thank you for making this game!
Nice graphics and funny concept I will rate after I try this with a friend though.
Cool game! I noticed that even though my food and arrows were below 0 my archers were still able to shoot. Is it a bug? Also you should update your itch.io page and provide a link to here. I had to find your profile from last year's comments. Anyway thank you for the great game I really enjoyed it!
At one point there was 116 bunnies on the screen humping each other and I was like "Where am I and why am I here?". Very funny game. I enjoyed it. Thank you for making it!
You should have salvaged this project on the last day. There was no point of having unfinished characters in the game. Also a restart button would have been nice!
Don't forget having a finished product is actually more important than having a ton features. Maybe you will plan your game better for the upcoming game jams.
Good luck!
I really liked this entry. The game was beautiful looking and it was fun. The controls felt weird at first and some sound would have been nice but this is a compo entry and lack of stuff is to be expected.
Thank you for making this game, I enjoyed it a lot!
Perfect score from me! Thank you for making this game it was inspirational!
Nice and simple game mechanics. I wish I was able to arrange the starting positions of my cars though.
I liked the game thank you for making it!
itch link you have give did not work for me.
This is probably the funniest game I have ever played on a LD event! I loved the game! It's perfect in every single way in my opinion. You are getting a full score from me!
Thank you for making this game I enjoyed it a lot!
Art style and the humor is perfect I wish the game had an online leaderboard. Points we make really doesn't mean much if there is no one to compare with.
I enjoyed the game thank you for making it!
@undi @pcmaster @hav24 @solah We are aware that it is extremely hard to keep 6 out of 6 patients alive. It is intentional. We designed it to be only achievable by players who would try to master the game and in a few days we plan to create a post/competition about who will achieve a perfect score first. Make sure you visit this page in a few days if you want to try. I will add the link of the post to the Notes section of this page.
Thank you all for the great feedback you have given to our team!
@pcmaster the challenge is up! Show your skills as a nurse right here https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/keep-em-alive/come-and-learn-how-good-a-nurse-would-you-be-when-the-zombies-are-real
@Eremiall I added a webgl build you can play that now!
@mspawa Have you tried leaving the hospital?
@alexandr-androiddev This is a survival/management game. You win if you keep all of them alive. You win less if you keep few of them alive. You lose if you don't keep them alive.
Nice idea! The mage is losing his power. I liked the game mechanics too but I wished the rounds weren't so identical. Thank you for making this game I really enjoyed it!
This game needs sounds badly. I liked it a lot though. The narrator is a really nice touch and it helped me understand the game much faster. Thank you for making this game! Good job!
Hahaha! After this game I will never be able to look at the batteries the same!
Good job! Thank you for the game!
Weirdest ghost n' goblins clone ever! Also the best one! I really enjoyed this game thank you for making it!
*Duplicated comment removed*
Simple and awesome! I really liked everything in this game! Thank you for making it.
Pretty cool stuff! You actually managed to make me finish a choose your own adventure game. I usually get too bored to read to the end. Great job! Thank you for making this game.
Awesome soundtrack cool game! I really enjoyed it!
Wow! Very cool artwork this game has! I agree with @a333 this game kinda feels like Abuse. I enjoyed the game a lot. Thank you for making it!
I could not find any button to proceed to launching pad. I just edited my plane but I never got to fly it :( Graphics seems cool though.
Cool game! I liked the graphics and the music a lot. Key bindings were a bit weird for me.
Thank you for making this game I enjoyed playing it!
Really cool game. I think recharge selection mechanic is very creative. Game was very polished too! Thank you for making this game. I really enjoyed playing it!
Very cool game! I wasn't expecting to see a fps in LD. I really had fun playing it! Thank you form making this game.
The character is too floaty for my taste. It doesn't fall down as fast as it jumps up. Other than that you have made a fun platformer and I enjoyed playing it. Thanks for this game!
Took me a while to understand what to do in this game. Artwork is amazing. I loved the game over comic you made for the game too.
Thank you for the game!
Wow man this game is incredibly fun and addicting! I must have played this for about an hour. Thank you for making this game!
Very nice entry. I really enjoyed playing it!
Thank you for the game.
Ooh! Trippy! I liked the style a lot! Dolphins and all that :) This game made me want to swim with the universe!
Pretty good game! I really liked the platforming challenges you created with your level design. It was a fun experience. Thank you for the game!
Reminds me of WarioWare I loved it! Good job!
Thank you for making this game!
Very original idea for a way to control the ship but I feel running between the rooms doesn't enhance the experience. You should consider making a tutorial video and share it.
I really enjoyed playing your game and thank you for making it!
All those poor bunnies! I loved your game but I was expecting a monty pyton holy grail reference but could not find one its disappointing a bit!
Well anyway thank you for making this game I really enjoyed it!
Wow! Our games are so much alike :D . I liked the concept and the pixel art a lot! Thanks for making this game. I enjoyed playing it!
Solid entry! I took me a few tries to get used to the dash mechanic but after that the game controls felt really good. I enjoyed the artwork and the gameplay a lot.
Thank you for the game I had a lot of fun!
I would have prefer to play this game with arrow keys.I like the artwork and level design you have put into this game. I enjoyed playing it. Thank you for this game!
Pretty good game but I think it is too short. I liked the boss fight a lot! Thanks for the game!
Cool game! I will try this with a friend too. (AI wasn't so satisfying) I really liked it! Thank you for making this game.
It was hard for me to understand the game but from what I understood this has a good potential for a story generator.
Thanks for the game!
I wasn't expecting a stealth platformer this LD. I liked it!
Thank you for the game!
Cool concept and I liked the game but this need some difficulty scaling. The game gets old quickly when it has the same challenge level and it is easy. Easiest way to do that would be to decrease the chance of spawning power pickups on kills over time or you could increase the game speed overtime so it would be harder to aim at the enemies.
Aside from difficulty being to easy and not increasing I thing this is a cool game. I enjoyed playing it!
Bad
* I did not get the point of turning the lights on. Since I played in the darkness all the time I did not get to experience the artwork you have put into this game. Holding down the up key automatically double jumps, I think that is a problem with the game controls.
Good
* I really liked how you give feedback using the sound. Good art work.
Thank you for making this game. I enjoyed playing it!
Very nicely done platformer. I really liked the visual style. I wish the music kept continuing on level restarts that is my only little criticism. Thank you for the game!
Very good level design I loved this game! It is perfect! Thank you for making it!
I really liked the visual look of this game. For some reason it reminded me of "Shogo: Mobile Armor Division". I think the game needed a few more sounds. Other than that I liked the game. Thank you for making it!
Artwork is very nice! You should work more on controls though. Its impossible to jump over enemies once you lose your momentum. I really enjoyed playing the game thanks for making it!
Cool game man! I only wish bots didn't get stuck so often. I liked the concept and I had fun playing this game. Thank you for making this game!
Cool game but unfortunately it feels a bit unfinished. I still enjoyed it very much and played it to the end.
Thanks for the game! Nice job!
Cute game! I liked the graphics and the music! Good Job!
I liked the game! Artwork and music is amazing!
One criticism I have to this entry is that 2 mechanics (Platformer, Management/Strategy) wasn't improving each other. You should have try to explore how these two mechanics may make each other better.
Thank you for the game I enjoyed it!
Nice game mechanics but the debris fall speed must be more balanced. I wasn't able to grab an object because I choose to. Instead I had to do with wooden pieces that randomly fly towards me.
I liked the game anyway. It has very cool artwork. Thank you for making it!
Simple and fun I like it! Thank you for making this game!
Very good puzzle game. Oh and also why did the robot get angry?
Thank you for the game!
Cool graphics it looks really polished. I wish game had more choices on how to kill enemies. The lack of choice in the game made it too simple but I still enjoyed the game very much! Thank you for the game!
Just wow!
I really liked the mood of the game. Everything is creepy in this game sounds artwork and I love it!
Thank you for the game!
I really liked the music of this game. It fit very well with the rest of the game.
I would have prefer if the aiming was done with the mouse. I really liked the music and the concept. One thing confused me a bit; the game ran out of planets because I ate them all but also because of that I quickly ran out of power. So did I win or did I lose?
I enjoyed playing this game anyway. Thank you for making it!
A cool clicker and a creative take on the theme. I got not much to say aside from that except where is the exit button? (:P I saw your comment)
Thank you for making this game! I played for about 110 floors and I enjoyed it!
Cool game! I enjoyed playing it! Thank you!
You should consider adding some screenshots and/or videos of the game to this page. People tend to not like blindly jump into a game. A picture is worth a thousand words
I like the general looks of the game but the game has some small issues to fix in my opinion.
1. Dialogue sounds overlap each other making it impossible to hear.
2. The main point this game separates itself from other similar games is the story but the story ends very suddenly after a single player choice (I choose X by the way HAHA >:^) ).
If I were you I would have focused on the story more and the graphics less. Even with the issues this game has I really liked the atmosphere and I see a lot of potential when more levels are added to the game.
Thank you for making this game! I really enjoyed it!
This is awesome! Though I probably will never see the end of the game (4 hr 20 min battery time left). Thank you for the game. For me this was the most creative idea I have seen in a Ludum Dare.
I both liked the graphics of the game and didn't liked it. The dots appearing in the screen made me confused and made it very hard for me to detect the hazards of the maps. On the other hand they look so cool! I enjoyed playing this game. Thank you for making it!
I really liked the walking animation and the music. I wish you alse did something for attack animation too. Nice idea!
@vfabien21 @PolyHatSteve actually there is a mechanic on the game that limits the maximum number of police soldiers relative to the current number of resistance soldiers. But because of performance issues we had to set the limit for the number of resistance soldiers too low. So sadly it's not noticeable. But because of this mechanic if you try to rush your way into the city hall you will find that winning the game is noticeably easier.
Thank you @aeveis ! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed it!
@rockhoppergames the performance bottleneck of the game is the resistance to resistance npc collisions. Turning it off was not a solution because we wanted to create the feel of a mob pushing each other, turning it off would make them join inside each other in a single man area. We wish we had more time to optimize things. Thank you for the feedback though. It makes us really happy that you took your time to analize and try help with things! Cheers man!
Nice and simple game mechanics with great artwork. Very well done! I had a lot of fun playing this.
I enjoyed playing this. I would enjoy playing this multiplayer even more! Thank you for the fun!
Art style is so simple and clear. It is beautiful. I really liked the UI interaction of the game(Highlighting numbers and scanning progress bar).
Very good level design and artwork!
I really like the juiciness of the game controls! Sounds and visual effects are really on the spot!
A next level door like in Nuclear throne would have been really nice. You miss coins if you kill all the enemies before you collect all coins. Also the character should keep the weapon to the next level.
I really enjoyed playing this game! Thank you for making it!
This game fits the theme so well. I had fun playing it! Thank you for making this game!
This really reminded me of Berserk the manga!
Wow! I somehow managed to kill the guy throwing down all the boxes! Awesome secret! ;)
I really liked the diffuclty of the game. I will make sure to play it again later!
Really fun game! Thank you for making it! I loved the tutoral video!
@caeonosphere Thank you for the feedback! We though about removing the days at first but then decided that end of the day summary is really necessary for informing the player about the results of the combos. But for experienced players an endless day mode where posters expire with a timer instead of passing days can be included post LD.
@duuuude We designed tetris shaped posters but didn't get to draw them.
@neipo13 @sveta Any chance you could share the exception/error so that I can look into it.
@neipo13 @sveta @sita The exception should be fixed now.
@alexosa what do you mean by a timer? There is already one for day end.
Very funny game! Simple idea but it feels complete. I had fun playing it!
I loved the graphics and the audio but the gameplay feels unfair and kind of unplayable in its current state. This is mostly due to being killed on a single hit and there being no telegraphing of lasers or enemy spawns. Once i realized that there is no way to predict when the lazers will fire or the walls will move I decided to stay out of their danger zone but still there was nothing I could do about enemies spawning inside me.
I wish these small details were implemented. It could have been a really fun game. I still enjoyed playing it in its current state! Thank you for making this game!
Really nice level generation! I will make sure to check the code soon.
I really liked how you made player bind keys at the start of the game. I might steal that idea in the future if you don't mind. I really liked the ascii style mixed with post processing effects. Thank you for this game. I had fun playing it.
Very nice, immersive writing. I wish there was a button to speed up the text! I really had fun with the sarcastic options!
Thank you for making this game!
This game looks beautiful in the ugliest way or looks ugly in the most beautiful way. I can't decide which.
I enjoyed playing it. Thank you for the game!
Simple beautiful and fun! You really have captured the essence of a good old school Roguelike and put it into an arcade game! I really enjoyed this game thank you for making it!
Awesome game! I really loved the artwork and writing! I would have loved this game even more if the fighting had some more strategy involved but I see there is only so much you can finish in a game jam!
Thanks for the game! It was really fun!
The graphics are a bit shaky aside from that game looks and plays really nicely. I liked the unlock ability mechanic but I wish there were more levels. I barely got to test the flying ability.
Thanks for making this game. It was really fun!
This is a unexpectedly good simulation game. I enjoyed my time playing it!
My only problem with the game was the drag and drop controls. I think the game would be better with a different way of placing tile. One that is faster than drag and drop. For example the game could enforce a single random tile to be placed every turn, then the player could use a click to place down a tile. If the player needs a different tile then he could discard it with right-click. With 4 tiles to choose from the discard mechanic isn't that useful anyway.
The game has a lot of potential for improvements like global events, a goal system like "you need to sustain X amount of dryland herbivores for 10 turns" for bonus points, etc.
I really liked the game! Thank you for making it!
This is really fun! Most proc gen jam games feel empty and boring but your game is an exception. I would love to read a post of your going into details on how you handled the world generation. My guess is perlin noise height map and some temperature map for the biomes. For me it's always an interesting topic to discuss.
Thank you for the game. I liked it a lot!
Very cute game! Chicken sound made me jump haha! I liked the art style and the background music. Thank you for the game I enjoyed playing it!
I really liked the idea of using super mario power up symbols. Those symbols became like a gamer language that most people understand what they do without a second thought or explanation.
hahahaha! This is cute and creepy at the same time! I loved the voxel art. Thank you for the game! I enjoyed it a lot!
Game is really fun and very polished! But I feel there is room for some improvement on its design.
I don't like the time on the game. It encourages reckless spamming of left click where as in a game like this you should encourage strategic placing of objects. I understand the game needs an end state trigger but you could have used something like "game ends when an object falls down the bottom of the screen" which would allow players to carefully place the objects. Or you could have used both by resetting the timer on left click. That way player doesn't have infinite amount of time to place down an object.
The audio fits the funny mood of the game. Objects are beautifully drawn!
Thanks for the game! I really enjoyed playing it!
I feel like snakes are too hard because there is no anticipation stage to their attack. So their attacks are too hard to avoid. But the game is very much fun! Thank you for the game I really liked it!
Awesome graphics!
I didn't understand the connection with the theme aside from you start with no weapons, instead the first weapon is waiting for you to pickup right at the start of the map.
I loved the design of the enemies! Fighting with them feels very satisfying! Also blue screen of death was a really nice joke.
I wished the player movement actually felt like steering a tank.To achieve that I would remove strafing from the player and balance the enemies according to that.
I really liked the UI! and that there are multiple weapons in the game.
The friendly tanks at the start of the game was helpful but I didn't get why they are there.
Overall really cool submission! Thank you for making this game! It was really fun to play!
Very nice game! I would love to see you add more to this. The game could benefit a lot from look ahead camera. Unity cinemachine already has one implemented you could use that.
Thank you making this game. I had fun playing it!
Very cool game idea! I have only two points to criticize about this game.
1. The sprites you created are quite good but you used different pixel per world size for each of them. Keep in mind that if you are using pixel art make sure each pixel of the sprites on the screen looks the same size. This way you will get a more consistent look.
2. The game is too easy. It rains too often that I don't even need to bother killing evil humans for years since the rain is going to restore the missing health so soon. If you are going to improve upon this game idea, you need to come up with a solution to increase the challenge level of the game. Because some people are going to like this game and play it a lot and they will be bored before the play it a lot happens if it is too easy.
A side from those two I think your game is great! Nice work!
Thank you for making this game!
I really liked the cyberpunk mood, pixel art and the top down shooter polish!
Thank you for the game! It was very good!
I liked the mood of the game. The player jump felt a bit too floaty. I think you should increase the gravity scale a little. I enjoyed the mood and the sound effects.
Thanks for making this game! I had fun playing it!
Thanks for the game! I had a lot of fun playing it!
Short, simple and beautiful. Thank you for this mini game! I enjoyed it.
Very creative idea to let people leave messages on their graves. Seek out my message. I'm Zen Man.
Funny concept. I enjoyed the artwork a lot! The game was fun and the theme was there! Cut scenes were awesome! Thank you for making this game! It a lot of fun.
I really loved the way you generate a story using the gameplay mechanics! Great game! Thank you for making it. It was really inspiring!
I really liked that I don't have to do the actual playing part. I am wondering, did you write the chess player AI during the jam or did you use a library of some sort? Anyway awesome job! Thank you for making this game!
@baturinsky Oh I see! I will check it out if ever decide to do a chess game in the future. Thanks!
Wow! This game is awesome! Graphics, audio and the mood are almost perfect.
I only have a small nitpick with jump mechanic. You could have added a grace time (some call it coyote time) period that when leaving a platform you get a split second where you can jump even though you are not touching the ground so it is easier to do the platforming and the double jumps.
Most good platformers also have this mechanic. Hollow Knight, Celeste, Super Mario, etc. They add this because there is a really small delay between what you see and the start of your reaction.
This was an awesome game to play! Thank you for making it!
This game reminds me of Monty Python. Any inspiration from there?
Thank you for the game! Graphics and the audio was very cool! Did I get the game? I don't think I did! hahaha! But it was still nice. I enjoyed it a lot!
I loved the fall down effect so much that I kept killing myself for fun! The scream and the face!
Awesome Game! Thank you for making it!
I really loved the artwork and animations. Picking up a stick is too hard to do but after you have a weapon fighting feels awesome! Die you ugly roaches die!
Thank you for making this game! I enjoyed playing it!
Thank you for the game! I had a lot of fun playing it! Voxel art is amazing! I would love to see this game improve!
Very nice arcade game! Thank you for making it! It was really fun to play.
@darkcmd @jlindell thank you for the constructive criticism!
@darkcmd The first idea was to use sprites instead of text but the time limitation didn't allow it unfortunately.
@jlindell Getting some “zen” back is actually really good idea! I'm only concerned that it might make the game a bit too simple. I want people who enjoy this kind of games to try at least a few times before they get to reach the game's.
@xakkar Hahahaha! Congratulations and best wishes for your next adventure! You are the first!
@azamatika can you explain what part of the gameplay you didn't understand? The controls? The goal? Do you have any suggestions? Making this game as understandable as I am able to make is one of my challenges. Your feedback can be very useful for the future versions.
@azamatika Thanks! I will add more feedback for level progress. The reason we did hold down left click was for accesibility for the players who would want to play the game with a gamepad or a keyboard. Also we could disable mouse controls on keyboard or gamepad input.
@gold5games Then you are not focusing enough! Be like the flowing wind! Stress is not your ally.
@anne-ogborn Yeah... Unfortunately I don't think itch.io lets us put the instructions above the game window.
At first we decided that we should let player discover how the game is played by themselves but after the first few comments we realized that most people don't have that kind of time because they are looking forward to increase their coolness score by rating games as quickly as possible so we included the instructions on the web page but it was too late to include them inside the game.
Thanks for playing our game and a greater thanks for taking your time to understand the game! I hope you had fun playing it!
@morrilet Hahahaha! Sorry for that! I guess we went a little bit overboard with start with nothing theme.
@purpoappo The zen masters start to teach their student by confusing them first. Because you are in the present moment when you are confused. So it was all intended! I'm glad it worked for you. Some people don't give that kind of chance to the games like these.
@ashashza I'm so glad to have people with meditation experience play our game and understand what feeling we went for. Thank you for your comment! It meant a lot to us!
@gaming-night Thanks! I just learned a new English word! Ludonarrative is a very cool word!
We opted out on audio because we used and distorted the stuff we found online. We got different notes of koto by adjusting the pitch of a single koto note audio sample to values that fits the notes in classical Japanese koto music.
@hajden your problem with the tail is noted! Thank you for the feedback! Did you play it with a mouse or a keyboard? (Mouse & Gamepad) = Hard, Mouse = Easy
@hajden too bad you didn't reach nirvana.
@zakamana The html version actually runs in mobile but it's very hard to play because your finger takes up too much space and you cannot see clearly. We will consider a mobile port with an alternative input style after the jam.
@karanveer actually there is some ambient sounds that you unlock in the 4th level. The first few level are silent on purpose. Could you read the instructions and try again before you rate it please?
Or better I will explain it right here. You need to stay inside the koi fishes for a few seconds to reach next level but also need to avoid thoughts (moving texts). They damage your concentration (the outer ring) and remove few seconds from koi fishes. If you are out of concentration it is game over. You don't actually need to know how to meditate to play this game. The game play is actually a bullet hell where you cannot shoot.
@huitre I played your game and updated my comment.
@weeping-rupee Wow man! Thanks for the video and the great feedback. We are seriously thinking about doing a post jam version of this game we really appreciate your input. It's a shame the collisions bugged out on the last level (thoughts aren't supposed to get out of the ring).
@itsdanidre Oh nooo! Final image spoiler alert!!! hahahaha! Don't worry about it I'm gonna post a gameplay video soon anyway!
@velvetlobster the webgl build is mobile friendly you should be able to play it on an ipad right now
@kaizo thinking about focusing also distracts you from focusing
This is the game I gave the highest scores so far! It is perfect as a platformer (Controls and design). It fits the theme so well and it looks pretty.
Thank you for making this game. I really enjoyed playing it!
It's so much fun! Combining the card game elements from games like slay the spire with simple timing based combat mechanic! This is definitely one my favorites so far in this LD. Thank you for making this game! It was addictingly fun.
I like the game mechanics and the game is very fun to play! Some better sprites with animations would have been nice but I understand that they are hard to get when you are working alone!
Thank you for making this game! I really enjoyed it!
I made the sandwich then nothing happened. It is kinda anticlimactic. But i liked the cute graphics and the simple crafting system you created for the game so overall this was a fun experience. Thank you for the game!
The first tower defense I played in this Ludum Dare. (Usually there is a bunch) I liked the artwork. There were nothing out of the ordinary with this one. I would have preferred faster enemies with less hp.
Overall I enjoyed the game. Thank you for making this game!
Really cool game! It felt like an interactive poem! You might have discovered a new game genre haha! Thank you for making this beautiful game!
A way to speed up the time would have been nice otherwise very cool game! It reminded me of the game called "Darwinia". Thank you for the game! It was really fun!
Oh nice! Didn't notice sorry!
The game controls feel awesome making it really fun to play the levels. Some sound effects for more juice would have been nice! I found the game's relation with the theme little bit weak but I enjoyed the game a lot!
Thank you for making this game!
Awesome game! I really would like to have mouse sensitivity option for this kind of game. I loved the artwork and the music. You need to polish the character movement a little bit. Currently it accelerates to fast, making it too hard to do precise platforming.
I had fun playing it! Thanks for the game!
I really liked the idea of using orthographic projection even though it made dodging projectiles harder. The start intro was awesome and I liked the sound effects a lot!
I think, if a few more mechanics and some polish is added to the game it can be a really unique fun experience.
Thank you for making this game!
Maybe you should add some instructions on how to play the game. I noticed I can select grass types and plant them. Also tried to breed grass 1 with grass 2 and nothing happened. So I planted all the grass I have. They all ended up dying after a while. I couldn't find how to unlock other plants.
More options please. The game idea is brilliant! Thank you for making this game. It was inspiring! Please improve and publish this game after the game jam.
Very fun game to play! I wish there was a way to adjust the mouse sensitivity. I really liked the music. Also I am wondering if you did something to optimize the entities. Like using new JOBS system or something. Its impressive how many agents the game runs without problem.
Thanks for the game it was really fun!
Clicker game with AI! There is nothing more could I want from life! Please add more content! I loved the idea!
Thank you for making this game!
Sea sound is too noisy for me. Attack and movement feels nice. I am also impressed with the amount of content and progression the game has!
Thank you for making this game. I enjoyed it!
I really liked the art style of the game. It reminded me of games like samurai shodown and last blade. Enemies were too hard for me to deal with so I didn't get very far into the game but I still liked the main idea behind the game mechanic.
Thank you for making this game! I enjoyed it a lot!
Very nice game mechanic. I enjoyed the puzzles you created with the game mechanic. Graphics are awesome too! It was a fun game to play. Thank you for making it!
I liked the color of nothing better. Is it ok?
The controls are really nice! It was really satisfying to steer the spaceship around. I wish there was more to this game. I loved the artwork and the music.
Thank you for making this game! I enjoyed it.
I think something was not working right with the game. There was only 2 monsters on the map. No new enemies spawned during night.(I played for 2 nights) I couldn't find any gold. NPC at the start told me to explore the world. There was invisible walls preventing me from exploring the world on the both ends of the town.
On the up side I liked the pixel art you created for the game. Attack animation looks really cool! I liked the simple parallax effect on the mountain background.
Thank you for making this game!
@whomakeworse Yeah! I know how game jams are like. Make sure to do a postmortem and share it. There are a lot of lessons to learn from all kinds of projects. I'm sure it will be very useful for you and the community. Thanks again for the game!
Very fun game! I really liked that there is an ending to the game! I really would like to play a longer post jam version of this game! Thanks for the game it was fun!
you need to work on the random obstacle generation to remove impossible to dodge scenarios but the main game mechanic is simple and fun. Thank you for the game! I enjoyed playing it!
Best trading game I have played on this game jam. I don't think they will get any better than this one. Good job! I loved your game! Thank you for making it!
I would suggest trying to teach player by giving player one thing at a time to balance at first. Once everything was done one by one, the player can now proceed to deal with balancing multiple values. In short expect player to learn one mechanic at a time.
As it stands the game has too many information give to the player at once and that I found overwhelming and the tutorial intentionally didn't show me what's what.
Still I liked the artwork, audio you put into the game and I was more or less able to understand what the game would feel like if I was able to grasp all the game mechanics so I'm going to rate the game on that.
Thanks for the game! It was enjoyable even though I couldn't grasp how to play it exactly.
Am I a hobo!? I don't have a speedboat! I'm not interested in having a speedboat! So am I a hobo by choice?
I really liked the simple balance your resources mechanic! I think housing should cost money though. Free housing is a bit op. Being have to go back to the cosy cardboard house would feel more lifelike.
It was really fun to play. Thanks for the game.
Musics and the artwork is really great! The game could be more fun if you did some stuff differently in my opinion.
1. The navmesh agent should be active if there isn't a line of sight to the player within the attack range.
2. Set player physics material friction to 0 this way the player will not be sticking to the obstacles making it easier to move around.
3. If the player doesn't have a body, an indicator should show the general direction of the body this way you don't get frustrated players that judges your game before they even experience the game after you found your body. Also you can use this idea for showing the location of the next power up too. This gives player a clearer secondary goal.
4. Take advantage of the darkness and lighting effects to get a spookier mood.
5. I liked the audio feedback on enemy hit but I think a visual feedback is also necessary.
Thanks for the game! I enjoyed it a lot!
Pretty good submission! It feels like a roguelite puzzle game. I haven't explored the game fully yet. I will make sure to complete this one. Thank you for the game! I liked it a lot!
@demuss What I ment by roguelite is that every run provides a somewhat different puzzle depending on which rune you go for first. And I don't think this game is anything like the original "Rogue" so I wouldn't call this game a roguelike.
I call this one "Ottoman mountain climbing".
Capture.PNG
So strange I'm giving you bad rating on graphics because I can't draw! Just kidding!
Thanks for the fun toy!
My condolences. I loved that you included a skill tree. I the controls are very good! It was really fun to play. Thank you for making this game!
Bots are really satisfying to destroy! I had a lot of fun and excitement playing it.
Thank you for making this game!
Hahaha nice idea! Crystal of mesh renderer enabler :P
The game is looking very nice. Well done!
I liked your writing and your game a lot! Thank you for making this game! Here! Have a joke!
joke.png
It's a very cool game with a cool ending!
Sounds felt kinda buggy. I think you are messing with the playback pitch way too much.
Graphics are really good. I really liked how you melded multiple meshes together on object stage!
I became a rock planet in the end. Thanks for the game! I had fun playing it!
Could this be the game? https://madpc-games.itch.io/battle-of-squares it seems to be published 12 days ago though.
I really liked the level of polish on this one. Your game is strangely familiar to ours but the gameplay style, and the concept are different. Check it out to see what I mean.
Thanks for the game! I had a good time playing it.
I enjoyed playing your game!
I have only very small criticism. I think you should give the elements in separate rooms with a single opposite element enemy in the room. I failed a few times in the early stages just because I was trying to figure out "Does the fire kill water or the water kill fire". Also I felt like the difficulty ramps up too quickly but these are just minor things. I felt I should point them out because I liked your game a lot and I think it has a lot of potential.
Thank you for making this game! It was fun!
Really nice vibe I got from this game! Made me want go to the beach! I wish it was summer now. Thanks for the game!
I loved the graphics and the animations! I wish this was a action adventure game (you got the basic mechanics and assets you only need a good level) instead of defend the litter box game. But I must admit defend the litter box sounds funnier.
Thank you for making this game. I would love to see this game improve post jam.
@doodums I think Zelda like is action adventure genre. Not sure. Anyway that is exactly I had in mind too! Do you have an itch io account or twitter where I can follow the development process.
I loved the artwork especially the dragon animations!
I had fun playing the game! Thank you for making it!
Simple but well executed. I liked the art style, it fits the halloween very well. I enjoyed the level design too. Thank you for the game. It was fun to play.
Wow! I liked the etc. etc. etc. a lot. (You can replace the "etc."s)
Thank you for making this game! It felt goooooooood!
Cool idea! The game is a bit too simple but the idea is very funny and well executed!
Thank you for making this game!
Great pixel art! The control scheme is a bit weird but it doesn't prevent the game from being playable. My only problem with the game is that I don't see the point of ever leaving the vending machine since people have to walk towards me one way or another and I am a really slow walker anyway. It feels like I could starve to death with money on my pockets if I beg somewhere else other than right next to the vending machine.
Anyway I really enjoyed your take on the theme! Thank you for making this game.
the link is broken
I really liked the idea of "Start with no blocks sokoban game!". Thank you for the game. Levels were really interesting to play.
Art style is awesome. Music was a bit loud and annoying. I really liked that movement changes when you leave the land! I had fun playing the game! Thank you for making it!
Very cute game! I liked the start with no skill then unlock skills idea! It teaches the game mechanics very nicely! My only problem with the game is air control of the character is too sloppy making it too difficult to control jumps that require precision. Thank you for making this game!
The game looks awesome and it is really fun! I noticed a bug where if you click attack during item upgrade notification popups the character spends its stamina even though it cannot attack.
I really liked this entry! Thank you for making this game!
Simple yet so much fun! Good job I have enjoyed playing this!
I had the same problem with avast as @jsd. It was a really fun game!! My high score was 33. Thank you for making this game!
Awesome idea awesome game! Thank you for making this game!
Coolest mosh pit I have ever seen in a video game! Great music!
Is it weird this game reminds me of genital jousting hahaha :D
I really liked the game idea but the execution -mainly the controls- could have been done better.
I would have prefer classic twin-stick-shooter controls for this kind of gameplay experience. Being able to move and aim to seperate directions may make this game too easy but it would make the controls a lot more intuitive.
Another good way to approach -if you want to keep player shooting the same direction he's moving- would be removing the mouse input. Player could steer the character using left and right keys and move back and forth using up and down keys. Shooting would be always towards where the player is looking.
Right now player constantly needs to move the mouse in order to keep motion. While moving the mouse to steer it's very hard to aim.
This is awesome! Thank you for the fun game!
Didn't feel incompatible at all! In other words good job! I really liked the graphics and the sounds. Gameplay is very addictive and fun.
I really liked the graphics, the gameplay idea and if was really fun.
--- Some criticism ---
Jump controls felt a bit off for me. Mainly due to the too tall collision box of the character and there being no clear indicators showing the predicted jump direction.
Also I noticed that the randomness of the game will generate cases where even if you manage to pick up all the coins the game does not generate enough to finish the game.
The music was pretty good but the soundfx were too metalic for my taste making it hard to listen for a long period of play.
--- End of criticsm ---
It was an overall fun game to play. Thank you for making it!
I played by myself and I think it is more fun than it would be if I played with another player since the game is not that challenging! It was a cool idea! I wish there were some sound effects that would really help with the mood of the game.
Thank you for making this game!
Check out ours too: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/rogue-crush
Awesome game! Feels really nice and complete! Good job! Thank you for making this game!
Wow this was awesome! Thank you for creating this fine work of art!!!
Hahahaha this was very clever! I demand to see you make more stories!!! You got yourself a new stalker.
@sabeurre @random-thoughts you can swap even if it doesn't match!
@pestodesign game restarts from level 1 when you die.(well some times from level 2 due to a bug). We couldn't find the time and energy to do a player death sequence.
@Lerg you click on a distant enemy on the same row or column and you must have arrows in order to shoot.
@Aaronacus we realize the controls are very raw and lacks polish but we really would like to hear how would you like the controls to be if this was a completely polished game.
Cool game! I loved the audio! Thank you for making it!
I really liked the idea of using bad video game characters to destroy good video game heroes. It reminded me of Boppin. Music was good too. The game could have used some sound effects. Also you could have included multiple unlockable levels. In my humble opinion the level variety and design is the most important aspect of a tower defence game. From what I saw the artwork was taken from other games so maybe you should consider opting out on Graphics (http://ludumdare.com/compo/rules/). I enjoyed the game overall. Thank you for making it!
Very fun game idea. Execution is well done. Graphics and sounds are really good.
I found the game very hard without spamming the up key . Only reliable option I had against red blocks was to spam until I get more balls than there are red blocks.
Thanks for making this fun game! I enjoyed it a lot!
Very cool idea! Our game plays very similar to yours which I found interesting. I really liked the level design and the challenge of the game. Having an endless run mode for this game might be very fun!
I really enjoyed playing this! Thank you!
Very cool game! I enjoyed playing it! Thank you for making this game!
I really liked the creepiness of the enemies and the music. It was a fun game to play thank you for making it!
I noticed some bugs that are abusable:
* Enemies cannot go through coins so if you dont pick up any coins they cannot hurt you or your camp.
* If you spam reload key you can shoot forever without ever needing to reload.
Very cool idea!! There wasn't many messages to discover yet. I will revisit this one later on!
