Nice concept and execution. Gameplay wise I feel it would have been nice to lock the direction the farmer was facing when the user is salting. That way you can hold down the space bar and chase a slug without having the salt flip from one side to the other, but if you wanted to quickly turn around to salt a slug that's behind you, just let go of the space bar, turn around, and then salt away.
At first I had a little trouble getting the hang of controlling my character but once I got into the groove of it, it felt pretty good. And it's really satisfying to shove an enemy across the screen and watch them splat against the wall. I think this concept can totally be grown into a really awesome experience. Great job!
@NoxiiStudio - Yeah, this was my first jam, timing wise I'm just happy I was able to finish it and I generally make things too difficult and then back it off...I do wish I put in 1 extra heart of health and made the beam from "God's Warmth" kill any monster that touched it along with healing you, that way using it would also help protect you along with healing you. But, it is what it is, thanks for playing it though and giving me feed back!
This is really fun! The graphics were really nice, I liked the fireball and it's shadow. And all the goals were fun to accomplish (especially blowing up the military base and jumping to take down a helicopter), great job!!
This is a really cute idea. The graphics are fun and the gameplay is pretty nice. I liked the leveling up/upgrades and progressively crazier and crazier levels. With more weapon types, upgrades and enemy types and maybe even environment changes this could be a really fun game.
Wow! The graphics and animation are great and I love the simple yet engaging structure of the game, very cool!
Holly cow this is great! The idea is perfect and I love the awkward controls, it's like surgeon simulator...but with a dinosaur...which makes it better! :D Great job!!
Haha, this was a really awesome idea!! I played through once and got Hana BBQ but then I went back to give her a hug...and turned her into a pile of goo! A really fun idea and fun experience, reminds of the indie game Her Story.
Haha, that's a really fun idea. I wish it had more things to dodge and run past but really good concept.
I like the player walk animation, kicking his feet to the side and the tree death frames are hilarious. The shrubs our super difficult to kill though with your tiny fists!
The art and animation are fantastic!!! But I think it would have been easier to control the character if I could just move with arrow keys and then left-click to dash in the direction of my cursor. Moving with the cursor makes it very imprecise which lead me to getting yelled at a lot by The Boss...I guess that could be part of the experience, but it feels like precision dodging is something the game wants you to have.
This is an interesting take on a matching game.
This game is AWESOME!!! The only issue I have is that the hunger bar is sort of confusing. It says "hunger" but if it's full then...they aren't hungry? And if it's low then they are...so it took me a little be to understand that low hunger meant the are hungry. But other than that, it is really interesting and the art is great, and animation and the kill animation...the sound track. Very impressive, this could totally be fleshed out into a fully featured game! However, since it's not a refugee camp in Africa and just a generic camp in the apocalypse...I wonder why all the characters had to be black aren't white people affected by the apocalypse too...or maybe that's part of the statement of the game? :)
Fun game! The driving controls are pretty solid and the camera work is great, it zooms in and out nicely and keeps the view in front of the car, nice! Drifting into a bunch of animals and splattering them all about feels good (game wise...not morally :D).
The monster animations and the human screams are pretty hilarious. It's a simple game but did make my laugh.
Great game, I really enjoyed exploring around...it makes me think a game where you just explore a big world as a mouse could be super fun. I also liked collecting all the serums wondering what the ????? power would be! I guess my only issue is...are the scientists the real monsters! :D
As a fan of the cheesy but fun Starship Troopers series I love your take on Troopers Starship and letting me play as the bugs! I like the 2D cutout style for the soliders and the style overall.
The are style is fantastic! It reminds me of day of the dead stuff and I found myself getting pretty addicted to the game. As I kept climbing up the level, seeing all the different types of bad guys...very cool and impressive all that you guys got done!
I..totally liked it! I played it through twice to get both endings and I think it's cute to way you play off the assumption of a gamer's mind (shoot all the things) and actually reward when we don't do what it seems for us to want to do...I like it, and as your first Ludum game, awesome!
I love the way the human's dissolve when you kill them. The game is obviously short, but the potential is really great. Nice idea and great execution, I'd definitely play a longer version!
Haha, this is a funny game. I liked the eat animation and it was pretty funny trying to go as fast as I could skipping anything but the babies!!! :D
Thanks to all who played it, I hope you also figured out the "Happy" ending too :)
@everyone - Thanks for the feedback, and yeah I wish I had more time (and was just better skilled) at making better animations and including some sound fxs (and music). This is my second jam and I'm still learning time budgeting! :)
Haha, some of the replies were pretty good.
The web or windows links don't seem to work :/
The art was really nice and I like all the moves the rabbit could do, I found myself a little lost with the controls cause there were so many things to do, but I think it's just cause I was playing on a keyboard.
I like the walk cycle for the monster and...although a bit rough around the edges, it did make me laugh a bit as I was running around.
This is the best jam game I've played. The art is amazing, the mood and story...wow! Very, very impressive!!! Awesome job!
Wow, I actually really enjoyed it! The controls and camera work could use some tweaking BUT I loved just jumping left to right and then timing my down punch attack perfectly to shoot down and crush the humans or tank below me. There we some nice moments of...wow awesome! When I landed a perfect hit to a helicopter and it blew up nicely! I like the concept and the execution is really interesting, nice job!
I loved it! The music and sound FXs went really well with the gameplay. I liked how the game built up to more and more objects, at first i thought it was easy sailing but then I was bombarded and it was nuts. I also liked how getting hit forced all the acorns to fall, that's a nice gameplay mechanic. Really awesome!
I like the game but I think the music gives a feeling of urgency that the game doesn't require because there's not a time limit. The graphics are good and I like the concept :)
The dino graphics are great! And so is the blood splatter :)
Fun music and nice integration of the music beats into the movements and pulsing of the game. Took a little be for me to figure out what was going on, but then it clicked and became pretty engaging.
Super enjoyed the music and the game's pace. I will say though the screen shake was a bit extreme (caused me to lose a few times) :D
I found the game compelling, I wanted to know what was going to happen and figure out who wrote the signs. Unfortunately I couldn't get past all the crazy ice jumps with the little goat berries. But the goat and I the bird are awesome, I'm curious if other transformations are in the game too. I might come back to this one! Nice job.
I liked being able to choose my runner character and I got pretty into the running... I was on a pretty awesome streak :D
Fun concept, I made it through a few levels. Although I'm sure it would be exponentially harder to do (or more time consuming) it would be cool if you could never get stuck in a level.
