Nice graphics and sounds. Some puzzles are really cool! Congrats!

Nice graphics and sounds. Some puzzles are really cool! Congrats!
Solid entry! We had some minor issues with control scheme but it was a really fun game to beat! Love the character by the way. Congrats!
A bit confusing at first, but interesting overall. Art is really nice (so as the dialogue!). Congrats!
Some levels were really well thought. Congrats!
Nice little game! Take on the theme is really funny, heh. And birds! As the onion described it: “it is not unusual for one window washer to be smashing into the ground while a second flails and screams in midair and a third, somewhere above, is beginning to lose balance.” Congrats!
Wow, this is really a great entry. And the game description is one of the best we read so far! Congrats!
It shares some elements with Osmos. Nice use of the repelling system. We like it!
Really Good!
I think it only needs to be way harder. Maybe more ghosts from the start, and I think the rest level should increise slower.
Anyway, I really liked it.
Yeah. Link is down. We will stop by later and play it. Cheers!
Hey, guys! Thanks for all the feedback! We love our character (the bearded doc), so we will be developing the whole universe a little further, at least on paper!
About the “visual feedback when shooting”... Yeah. We ran out of time. As simple as that!
Note: If you are interested in bearded Doc's story, follow us on twitter or send us messages on Facebook and we will keep you posted!
Sorry about that. We rephrase that weird looking paragraph, heh:
About 'the visual feedback when shooting'... Yeah. We ran out of time. As simple as that!.
We will work eventually in this project and develop it further more! So thanks for all your feedback, guys!
We like the concept of an infinite brawler with multiple characters and survival mode. So we will work on some adds that help improve, as various stated, the gameplay:
- Platforms in order to let you jump and avoid certain enemies
- Better enemy's behaviour (they will try to knock you out with weird sticks and bombs that get you stunned. No more standing there and shooting!)
- Visual feedback when shooting
- Unlockable scenarios and story mode
So thank you all for your kind words! Cheers and keep playing and rating #ld27 games!
Interesting concept! Made us think of Glitchhiker: http://www.glitchhiker.com/ Congrats!
Great art style! Sound was nice, too. Congrats on a nicely polished entry!
Wow, a capella soundtrack. Brilliant!
Particles, baby! Wow, this was fun for sure! Congrats!
Nice take on the theme. Game mechanics are interesting, but waiting and blowing could get somewhat frustrating. Keep up the good work!
Solid entry! Chaotic in a good sense. I love the feeling when you manage to find some order and make everyone reach its destination. Congrats on this game!
I love games with game mechanics in which you get bigger by getting smaller entities. Katamari is surely one. Osmos is another. But do not forget about Nozumou by Ikiki (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGrRPFuQivI). Anyway, I really enjoy this entry. Congrats!
Same here. If you figure it out, you can go on forever. But hey, nice mechanics though. Just need a little more balancing. Good work!
Nice sword-and-sworcery-like character design. Sound is good and puzzle is clever. Took two tries to figure this one out. Enjoyable entry, congrats!
Corpse explosion is great. Enemy attack could be improved, but overall, I had some nice play sessions with this game. Cheers!
Really nice soccer game. It reminds me of Sensible Soccer. Good all fun!
Solid gameplay, nice graphics, great fitting to the theme. Congrats, Alan! Orbitalis is awesome!
Wow! Your games are getting better and better, man. This one is really impressive (and fun). Cheers!
Great fast paced little game. Love the just-one-stroke-to-kill-or-get-killed whole thing, it fits the theme perfectly. And hey, post compo version is looking good too! Congrats on this!
Sorry to hear that @cobhc6! Do you have any other data concerning when did it happen? (Throughout playtesting we did not encounter that bug, so thanks for the heads up. Any additional info would be much appreciated!).
And thank you all guys for your kind words. We are thinking about fleshing this out some time in the future (with new tiles, new mechanics to make the player play the odds and so!). Cheers!
@WhoaConstrictor Thanks! Sound design needs more work, yeah. We will see what we come up to for the final version.
@chardish and @Benjamin: faif is a game in development, so we are going to try lots of things! First, we will work on balancing it adding some consumables between battles (you choose only one among others available) and more tile types!
Thanks all for the awesome feedback! And if you have any suggestion, feel free to make it!
@sorceress we are working on new tile types (some of them rare, scarce) and some consumables (you choose one by defeating an enemy) in order to add more strategy to the current game mechanics. The idea is for the player to minimize luck (nonetheless, luck is a key element in the general design).
Ironing some bread? Sure thing! With some more work on game mechanics and perhaps harder challenges, this could turn out to be interesting...
Control scheme could be interesting in a longer game. Cheers!
Yeah, I think this has some potencial. With some work on aesthetics (sounds and graphics) and game design (maybe some powerups and a deeper gameplay) It could turn out to be an interesting mobile game. Nice prototype, though. Keep it up!
Interesting take on the theme. Some mechanics are clever. Solid entry overall.
I liked this one. “Thor” mechanics are cool and despite controls sometimes being really annoying I played this game a lot. Congrats, Hammer Control is fun!
Zoom out is superb. Solid entry. Congrats!
Cool mechanics. Perhaps it needs a little more balancing, but nice entry overall!
Good take on the theme. Love the palette. Sound is great!
Upgrades are cool and making some frankenstein “Turbo Tunneller” feels really really good. Congrats on this!
Great game, Lucas. Really interesting take on the theme. Make you think about search optimization and stuff (not SEO, but SEA... sorry, awful pun there). Congrats on this entry!
Tight controls! Autoshoot option maybe? Perhaps spawning indicator make it to easy at the beginning, less time there might heat things up. Nice game overall and fun! Congrats. And hey, that description: “It really has nothing to do with the theme”. Love your honesty, man!
Wow, Roope, we love your twisted mind, man. Those anus-like exits are awesome. Game is great, with good balancing and level design. Congrats on another amazing entry!
Nice entry with polished graphics. Perhaps some crazy powerups could add some variety to the gameplay. Good job!
Wow, amazing take on the entry. Love the Smash hit-like destruction (if just making a sculpture were like dropping balls!) and the game progression. Clever stuff. Cheers and congrats on this!
Nice mechanics (love to change lanes when one of the faces is about to “hurt” and I get two sad faces together). With some minor tweaks in speed and enemy/sad faces spawning and some polishing, this could be great. Good work!
Like the concept a lot! Timer is useless, yes. Distance between two players is enough as lose condition. Sfx are ok. Wow. Really like this one. Kind of lemmings + ibb and obb or something like that. And blocks. Congrats on this!
Yes it is! (5x5 puzzlescript style!)
Yeah, @draknek! That is a bug, but also a super secret!
Note: We are thinking about making a post-compo version with more levels and some bug fixes but not less secrets :)
Wow, really nice set of mechanics here. Nice job!
Really love this game. Physics are spot-on and the use of the theme is amazing. Also, good game design skills with the “trojan suspicion” bar. Congrats on this entry!
Interesting take on the theme (love the chat section btw). ¡Vamos Argentina, che! (Abrazo desde Buenos Aires :))
Really like the lavalantulas' design! As others have stated, gameplay maybe seems a bit simplistic, but solid entry nonetheless. Great work!
Rules are nice and story is interesting (we love class b horror flicks!) Music feels great, perhaps add some sfx to a post-compo version? (and some GUI redesign and b(l)ob animations?) Nice work!
Alfred Hitchcock approves! Solid and really fun entry. Congrats!
Thanks, Robot Soul Games! (Note: We are going to write about it in a following post-mortem post, but one of the constraints we've set to this particular Jam was to make a one-button game and flesh it out for mobile. Glad you've found it compelling!).
Thanks guys for all the amazing feedback! @m3_o: yeah, we are adding more stuff for a post-compo version. And yes @taaboo! Mobile version is coming! Cheers!
Wow. Nicely done. Fun mechanics, great graphics and music/sfx. Congrats!
Nice take on a classic!
Puzzlescript fans here (we've made a bunch of games with it). Love this little game. Congrats on the level design, audio and set of rules. Cheers!
Love this one. Puzzlescript is one of our favourite engines and Draknek one of our favourite devs using it! Rules and level design are simply awesome. Amazing entry (we've been playing it till we beat it). Cheers!
Amazing pixel art and sound design for this rhythm/shooting game mashup thingie! Congrats, really enjoyed the game.
@FrederickK Yeah, it's counting correctly :) Game counts "1" for each fully grown flower.
@GeorgeBroussard: wow, man. Fans of your work right here.
Thank you all for playing and rating the game. We are going to play yours.
Great take on the theme. Nice use of physics too. Wow, we love this. Cheers from Argentina!
Katamari Snowman is a nice premise. Congrats on your entry!
Amazing entry. We'd love to play it on mobile. Just missing a losing condition, but game is great. Congrats on it!
Winning conditions (eating rabbits and growing grass) combined with great level design make this entry really amazing.
Wow, we love it. One of our favourite entries! Cheers! (Also, we love pico 8).
We really like the growing/shrinking while moving/not-moving game mechanics. Perhaps adding hazards to the level so as to moving is not that good could be a nice touch. This entry could turn out an amazing party game with slightly better level design. Congrats on it!
Really solid entry. Love the idea of hovering the two buttons to “awkwardly” control missiles :) Good job!
Love games where you control more than one instance of Player. And this idea fits really good with puzzle platformer genre. Interesting. Cheers!
Solid entry! There are some balancing issues but the idea, graphics, gameplay and sound feel really, really good. Congrats on this (and make it a full game!)
Note: We love RNGs roguelikes, that's why we've made faif! Cheers from Argentina.
Game-design wise this one has lots of cool calls. Really enjoy it. Congrats!
Nice entry. Love people in the background and sfx. Controls are kinda difficult to get used to but concept is really interesting. Congrats on it!
Great gameplay but even greater post-mortem. We've really enjoyed reading your #LD experiences. Cheers and congrats on your entry!
Thanks you guys for all the amazing feedback.
***Good news! New levels are here!***
And we've decided to make a full-fledged mobile/web version of the game. Expect some news soon!
Added game over screen when checked (as you cannot move your king nor your pieces, you cannot protect your king!) and a font easier to read. More levels coming soon! (And UI redesign and some neat surprises!)
Thanks all for playing the game!
@scorched: Thanks for playing! No, It's not checkmate. If you transform the bottom bishop into a rook, AI could move his bishop to h2. Nonetheless, we'll improve transitions in the game, a pause before popping up a game status and some visual feedback :)
Still a lot of work to do, but really hyped!
Cheers!
Really like the design on some levels. With somewhat more polished graphics, this could be great! Congrats!
Animations are really well done. The metroidvania elements are well integrated in the pace of the game. AMAZING entry. Congrats!
Animations are really well done. The metroidvania elements are well integrated in the pace of the game. AMAZING entry. Congrats!
Love the redesign on snake mechanics. Really liked some of the levels. Good stuff. Congrats on it!
Thx Pierrec! Yeah, the Webgl version hosted on itch.io seems to have issues with open another browser tab... thus the note in the itch.io description and the HOW TO PLAY added to the game links in the LD page! We are going to upload Win and Mac versions during the week (help works in these ones) and look into this issue... But we are so... so... tired... have to... to... zzz....
Really clever mechanics. A solid entry with great art direction. The only thing that bothered me little when playing was some collision detection that feels a bit off (specially some platforms). But the game is great and it could be a really nice game to try speedrun! Congrats on it!
Wow, this wan an amazing entry, love the puzzle design. Rewind mechanics made me think of Fidel Dungeon Rescue, which is a great thing IMO. Congrats on the game! (I would love to play this game on mobile!).
Thanks, guys! Glad you like it! We are working on a post compo version trying to make rules somehow less obscure.
So...
You have to clear the board, that´s ok. And in order to do so, you must make valid matches either horizontally or vertically (rows or columns). Valid matches are same coloured tiles between level boundaries, level boundaries and flipped cards or flipped cards.
So if you have something like:
X
RED
RED RED X
(X´s are flipped cards). In this example, the 3 red tiles are cleared because player got a valid match on a column and another valid match on a row.
Cheers!
Thanks, @antti-haavikko!
Yes, we've decided to work on a full-fledged mobile version of the game (also uploading updates on itch.io) exploring the concept even further (flip mechanics, flip types, the whole turn structure for a matching game, etc.)
And congrats on finishing the game! Really impressed.
Concerning rules, yes. Rules are poorly explained, we run out of time and trusted that by simply playing the game rules could be understood (we were awfully wrong! At least with the levels we've made).
All these things are going to be addressed in the upcoming updates. We are really happy with the game. Thanks for playing! (Also, your game is amazing!)
Cheers from Buenos Aires!
Thanks @dalep for playing the game and giving us your feedback!
Concerning difficulty progression, 72 hs was not enough for balancing the prototype (at least for us). We are working on this issue for the post compo version (we've released some commercial games in the past, such as faif, Kapsula and Moveless Chess, so we know that we have to work really hard on it, as we've done it before, and we will do it!)
About the flipping animation... yes, we are working on an actual 2d flipping thingie. Check it out!
flippy.gif
And concerning language... you are also right. English is not our first language, so sometimes we use some terms a little off. We will rewrite AI instructions and redesign all the early levels! (AI should tease players a little more, but first, players must understand the underlying rules of the game).
Cheers from Buenos Aires, Argentina!
Thanks, guys!
We are working on making the rules easier to understand, adding some cues and indicators.
Also, better balance!
After this is done, we'll add sfx and release an open beta on android (ios testers,if you want to play the game on iOS, we can add you to our testflight lists!).
Cheers and have fun playing #LDJAM games!
