LD27 — 10 Seconds

Next Gen Cat Gameplay by UltraRat 2013-09-05T21:45:00

@Marcos Rodrigues Most HTML5 games are shared source, you just need to Right Click -> Inspect Element in Chrome or have Firebug in firefox. I didn't bother to minify my code or anything secure although I am using the minified/obfuscated Three.js lib. But the code is a really terrible fast hack job so it's not that interesting, "here be dragons."

Life goes by in 10 seconds by DavidErosa 2013-08-28T01:14:00

clicking on the Web link brings you to a download an html file page and doesn't actually play. ( At least in Win8/Chrome )

LD28 — You Only Get One

BUTTERSLIDE by Mnemusyne 2013-12-22T04:21:00

Really good pacing and introducing the new elements.

Don't forget your old shipmate by Dining Philosopher 2013-12-30T22:08:00

Could use a "Press R ( Arrrr ) to restart." Sea Shanty song audio ftw.

Casting Call by OnlySlightly 2013-12-30T17:34:00

Yay for games that allow for two female or male leads :)

As some polish it always shows the background for about a frame before switching to the next scene. It's one of those annoying things players notice so it'd go a long way just to make sure it's visible is set to false on init I think.

Last Chance Supermarket by Sebastian 2013-12-30T18:47:00

The serious ragdoll on crashes makes me laugh.

--- by Zephyr Raine 2013-12-30T18:34:00

Cool. Haven't seen much interactive fiction this time, Fun choices.

Bounty hunting by vallde 2013-12-23T17:48:00

Orbital physics is such an underused mechanic, good to see it used well.

Roboto by StoneMasters 2013-12-30T23:49:00

I got 1025. I like how you have different damage states for the ship rather than just displaying a number of lives.

Mama is Sick by JaymeeMak 2013-12-30T18:42:00

Nice take on serious theme. A few tooltips would go a long way to helping players understand the UI quicker.

You only get one happy little life by lorniebear 2013-12-30T17:39:00

Cute, Audio is the highlight. Wheehee yah!

One Arrow by 7elephants 2013-12-23T23:01:00

Hitting two things with one arrow is an awesome feeling, wish the game gave me more visual rewards for doing so.

Glide by Alexbrainbox 2013-12-30T22:45:00

I like how the level design theme/concept of the puzzle is clear with a single word. Really hard.

One Take by Sheepolution 2013-12-30T22:40:00

Nice, Reminds me of the game "Stuntman".

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Pandarmageddon by blob 2015-04-21T00:33:00

Hm... I always thought a proper shark diet also involved humans and not just Alien Robots. No wonder my mad science hasn't been working all this time!

Pandarmageddon by blob 2015-04-21T00:44:00

( And steak obviously )

Downbeat by AgentParsec 2015-04-21T18:58:00

Fun, and the procedural rooms work well for the game.

Wish I had usb dance pad controller like Crypt of the Necrodancer demo videos.

Gunception by pikmin4000 2015-05-10T02:03:00

haha, Cool concept, wish the parody could have gone further with the audio with the token inception gong sfx. The rocket jumping is kind of unintuitive but required if you get caught in that corner of the map.

Type Fighter by LandoSystems 2015-04-21T06:15:00

Had a bit of trouble figuring out the spells weren't the normal attack words. But yay, typing games are fun

Animancer by Nick Weihs 2015-04-20T19:22:00

I really want to know what sound does a summoned squirrel makes.

My Little Weapon Creator by Liz England 2015-04-20T07:12:00

Captain Vocab - MMO Spanish Vocab em up! by dcolgan 2015-04-23T01:21:00

haha... More fun than flash. And finishing multiplayer is always impressive in a gamejam.

Wish I could just move by mouse click.

Duck Down by UltraRat 2015-04-26T20:34:00

@Dejvo... It's pretty common to come up with the same ideas given a certain theme as a coincidence, I've seen like at least 3 other pillow fight games.
TBH the heart of my idea started as humans fighting with their own intestines and just kind of evolved from there, and I thought it'd be funnier to have a "cute" twist on it.
But yeah, I agree my take on the theme ended up not being that unique among 2500+ people working around a similar concept.

Lazy Hack & Slash by jackolondon 2015-04-21T06:44:00

Don't be to sad, you got some basic gameplay up so that's not a fail.
I thought the warrior portrait was funny.

Nursery - Shuut them up! by dix 2015-04-21T06:57:00

76 seconds of shooting them in the face.

It'd be nice if you could see the pacifier lerp over into their months when you just got close. The color change combined with the sudden appearance makes it kind of jarring.

Sweet Dreams by Yvanor 2015-04-21T07:16:00

Nice, the changing clouds in the background was a good polish touch.
I wish it showed me my score while in gameplay.

Commit Racer by Luke Nizik 2015-04-21T07:30:00

My favorite part is the snarky death tips. I wish there was more contrast between the good cubes and the bad death things in the first area when you're learning, like putting a glow around them or something.

Roombacalypse by lucidsheep 2015-04-21T05:47:00

Katamari meets household helper robots, Nice!

Thanks for putting the tech names in the description, makes finding projects by engine way easier.

SpaceBabyShooter by Vulture Tamer 2015-04-21T07:10:00

you're right about it being hard, but then again I'm not great at asteroids.
hehe... the logo looks like "SBS: pace aby hooter"

Return The shoe! by ProteinPannkaka 2015-04-22T17:10:00

The hero is adorable, especially the dodge roll anim.

Mouse vertical look feels inverted to me.

Jenny and Magic Lamps by Alsatian Studio 2015-04-21T06:31:00

The follow cam feels too snappy, but I do love a game over that ends in a 2 person kamikaze explosion.

Crossy Hell by RoryD 2015-04-21T06:49:00

Ha, yes a modern parody game.
Good move tuning down the difficulty in the uploaded version to make play easier.

DuckvsChickens by RuslanAkhmetsharipov 2015-05-10T02:09:00

Chickens spitting what I assume is blood is certainly an unconventional weapon. Agree with the other comments, movement feels a bit tank like though.

Bad Service Cafe by Jv the Wanderer 2015-04-21T06:10:00

I like how in an unreal game, Unity-Chan is the one with the friendly move set.

Lawyer Golf by kevinthr 2015-04-21T05:41:00

Time between being told not to do something and doing the thing: ~1.5 seconds

Kill 'em With Kindness by DaveCarlile 2015-04-21T07:48:00

The windows dropbox link seems to have expired but the web link still works.

I like the indirect combat mechanics and ability to avoid enemies. Alas as directed by the end game here is my Mom card.

Hula Fighter by matt beckett 2015-04-21T06:21:00

This is the most rational explanation for the existence of the hula hoop I've ever seen.

This Sucks by skylerWithAnE 2015-04-22T02:38:00

Cool, reminds me of the Suck Cannon from Ratchet and Clank Future.

One thing that would help the UI a lot that's easy is a reticle crosshair in the middle of the screen. It's easy for my eyes to lose track of where I'm shooting.

Kitten Defense by Archonthewizard 2015-04-21T07:23:00

haha... So Cute, kittens only hunt for sport, they do not eat the animals they kill and still need cat food.

Play Your Doom by Bendev 2015-04-21T06:39:00

Reminds me of a fantasy version of patapon, that's cool. Which spell or door you're locking onto needs more feedback, like highlighting valid combos.

Crazy Baker by Hammer Games 2015-04-21T05:53:00

Nice first jam game.

Wish I could use the melee bread hit attack on a separate button so I don't need to waste donut ammo when the rats are close.

LD33 — You are the Monster

Monster Machine by jurnacsr 2015-08-26T08:52:00

FYI Doesn't seem to finish loading on iPhone 5S ( chrome or safari ) loading bar gets 90% or so done and hangs. But PC was fun.

(Idle?) Monster by KayZ 2015-08-26T08:56:00

Cool twist. I feel like just another fake cursor over the "player" buttons would do a lot to make it more immediately obvious which side you don't control.

Only a Monster Would Pop Children's Balloons! by mustaine 2015-08-26T09:46:00

Helicopter parents, ruin everything. ;)

Are You A Monster? by Galvesmash 2015-08-26T09:57:00

It's a fun challenge to suppress your first instincts in a twitchy game.

Sick Sick Solitaire by Wertle 2015-08-24T06:24:00

Card games are different, so cool.

On web, the cards backgrounds are transparent over the instructions but solid over the tableau, woah z-order madness.

This Is My Costume by Harrison Barton 2015-08-25T01:23:00

A good amount of art content, I like how the tutorials are presented.

It'd be easier if you hosted the download on itch.io or dropbox so people didn't have to hunt for the download button, and made the filename something unique, too many people name the folder LD*.

You, little Monster! by elefantopia 2015-08-26T10:14:00

Cool. I haven't seen anyone do a choicescript game. I'm Angel: -42%

Dial M for Monster by AAGH Games 2015-08-26T09:26:00

I like the typography. It'd be cool if you had more audio cues when the survivors were alerted.

Coin Block Clicker by Mykaelos 2015-08-26T09:05:00

Haha oh it probably says not so good things about me based on how funny I found this game. Halfway through Sunday late ideas are the best gamejam ideas. Jams are great for showing the concept instead of polish really.

No Pictures Please by Quetzakol 2015-08-26T09:16:00

Cool. Like most other difficult puzzle games a reset button would be nice as often I'd realize I'd screwed up the second I went down.

This is NOT a scam! by Reccy 2015-08-26T09:38:00

ha... of course scammers are running with pirated wandisk os. Lots of good polish touches.

The Frog King by dollarone 2015-08-26T09:50:00

Water, good for frogs, bad for ☺

Dragon Tax Return Simulator 2015 by walsh9 2015-08-26T09:32:00

Silly Dragon, doesn't he know his Smartphone has a calculator app for some basics.

Hugs by Granat 2015-08-26T10:10:00

I love the hugging sound.
(On windows at least) the controls are reversed if you hit I for info. It's ctrl for hug and alt for run.

LD35 — Shapeshift

Dave from Bungie by Dmitrix 2016-04-23T04:19:00

"Emily is Away" for the modern era. Made me laugh, good friends.

doppel trouble by blob 2016-04-23T07:00:00

Really cool you were able to finish effectively two different game types. The "Crunch Crunch Crunch" was funny text to popup.
However, Most of the time for the day sections I ended up just camping in the towers.

Tetropolis by Josh Riley 2016-04-23T05:23:00

Interesting really different concept. My natural tetris instincts of wanting to fit things as tight as possible are working against me agghh.

polyAgonY by raffitz 2016-04-23T04:06:00

I was able to run python 3.2, pygame 1.9.2 Windows 10. So it is possible.

Cool ikaruga style concept. It's be nice if there were more of a ramp up and the direction vector was larger ( maybe a bit alphaed out to show it wasn't a part of the game. )

ShiftSnap by Mixer 2016-04-23T05:33:00

Really well done difficulty curve up. The board set up intro sequence looked polished.

Doppleganger by unpronounceable 2016-04-23T18:15:00

Fun and Interesting. I hope your experiment works out well, I'd love to see more variety of game types in Ludum Dare!

A Tetris Piece That Tilted And Fell by cinnamonmelonpig 2016-04-23T05:49:00

I like how the piece's expression convey's so much panic.

Weapon Shifters by Nick Weihs 2016-04-23T04:35:00

Amazing. The UI was nice, just enough HUD and menu to keep my quantum powered long enough to shoot some tachyons at the deflector dish.

Imperfection by Wertle 2016-04-23T04:29:00

Fun, all the elements came together really well to set up feels.
Easy mode is still hard for me though.
I haven't wanted two mouses so much since Big Kahuna Reef Party mode.

Altered Bunny by SteveSalmond 2016-04-23T06:07:00

Good entry, Sfx and art was really strong. "Altered Bunny" sting at start set the tone well haha.

Flow by flummox3d 2016-04-23T05:54:00

Had to really think about the levels.
And now you've sold me on checking out puzzle script.

ShapeShift_Platformer by stalker1586 2016-04-23T06:15:00

I like that you took the time to introduce each power. (hehe... Thomas was alone with more shapes and less story.)

There is a typo in the start of level 2 ""polymorhp" to blue..." instead of "polymorph"

Untitled Shape-Shipter by MrTroy 2016-04-23T05:02:00

yup, Shapes shifted during the geometry wars.

Wish you guys had had time to do controller support too, should be pretty easy to add in unity.

Shifter by sP0CkEr2 2016-04-23T03:35:00

Nice game, It took me awhile to figure out I needed to shoot not let it drop onto a match but once I did it really got going.

It'd be nice if the robot went under the blocks, it's unclear if thats the design intent since you can see some of them and it's starts out color based.

Shifting Temple by Tex Killer 2016-04-23T04:52:00

Couldn't run on my windows 10 machines even as admin. Heard background music and saw it in taskbar but didn't see any window.

Grokh's Arena by Cerno_b 2016-04-23T03:41:00

SNNNAAAKKKESSS!!!! ( well I guess they're slimes judging by your comment but killed me every time. )

Also apparently every time I see a Dark Souls style ending screen I mentally replace it with "Thanks Obama"

Shoop-da-Poop by Dia6lo 2016-04-23T05:07:00

Really good first entry, LOL at JUST DO IT motivational meme intro.

It's helpful to put the instructions in the description too, easier to read for people..

Wobble Yoga by q_dork 2016-04-23T04:45:00

IK is hilarious. Help I've fallen and I can't get up.

Out of confort by ultravioleta 2016-04-23T06:47:00

really good first entry.
The dead fish are cute and seeing them constantly makes me laugh and feel guilty at the same time.
Sometimes the controls seems unresponsive though.

Platform Adventure by GenericName 2016-04-23T04:12:00

Making UI Main Menu screens is life's real adventure.

LD36 — Ancient Technology

CAN KITTEH HAS YUMMIES? by Muel 2016-08-30T06:48:00

While I reject the general internet notion that cats have inherently poor grammar, good job. Kitteh is teh cutest

Dig Dig Revolution by LittleDoomDevs 2016-08-31T04:06:00

hahaha... the quotes are a clever break between the levels. Love the Crypt of the Necrodancer feel. The animations give good feedback when you miss the beat without needing a lot of UI, very hard to pull off.

Push Of The Ancients by HeyChinaski 2016-08-30T07:23:00

Very nice, Original puzzle concept and very on theme and historical.

Bricks for Anubis by jscottmiller 2016-08-30T07:01:00

Sweet clicker game, the animations of the buttons really make it look different and cool. It'd be nice if the build buy button was grayed out for things I can't afford yet.

Old Man's Sky by Geared Games 2016-08-30T07:09:00

I understand that reference dot gif

I like the variety of the text, made me laugh as well as the punny title.

Reinvent the Wheel by ratly 2016-08-30T06:43:00

haha... I've sent that pic to people before when being a smartass. Glad I can not upgrade replies to something interactive.

LD37 — One room

Stack Overflow by DillonEA 2016-12-13T07:42:00

Hehe... programmer puns as a name.

It'd be nice if the game had a bit more of an intro level. Feels confusing even after reading the instructions.

I Need More Room, Meow by ashtheevil 2016-12-13T07:56:00

haha... the cat art is so cute. I kept wanting to chase the mirror spot like a laser pointer.

Nexus Qoph by hellfridge 2016-12-13T20:02:00

You can edit the entry so that it displays "Android download" instead of "Web" It's really confusing that a "web" links lead to an APK download.

Escape The Room by egordorichev 2016-12-13T06:25:00

Anyway you can wrap it in an exe so I don't need to install java?

BomBallRoom by Bomballroomstudio 2016-12-13T20:00:00

Original recorded sounds, hilarious, especially the UI click.

Agree with some of the other comments that I had to read the tutorial for how timer changes work, that feels like it really could have been done with a keyboard or with arrows buttons that appear when clicking on them.

I did actively want more maps though so thats a good sign on the fun level.

Oni 'Room by madlee 2016-12-15T05:33:00

Bushido Blade meets shrooms, cool.
The high score was a nice touch, it makes it feel very arcade-y, but not having many animations makes it hard to read any combos or enemy attacks like a fighting game.

A Ghost in Time by arzi 2016-12-14T08:21:00

Nice suspenseful mood, I like the one room theme combined with the isolated space sheep feel.
The time fx are cool looking.

I think you could make fast forward a keypress instead of on screen button would be a really easy help towards improving the controls.

Room 2106-B by jotson 2016-12-15T05:42:00

Properly depressing.
Also, I really liked phaser when I used it ( although I only used the typescript version ) glad to see it's getting some popularity.

One Way Out by Broxxar 2016-12-13T06:49:00

I like your outline fx.

Couldn't beat it though... I think I was missing an equation somewhere as there were a lot of variables in the system

The Elevator by iossif 2017-01-01T17:35:00

Interesting narrative, got stuck on crafting the map so thanks for including the spoiler walkthrough = you're a GameJam pro.

Roomies by NicMagnier 2017-01-01T17:25:00

Cool. It seemed like I just kept hoping the next round of dumpster diving got us another mattress though.

Passive Aggressive Roommate Wars by UltraRat 2016-12-15T06:54:00

@Obvious_San, Mainly the option is there because I subscribe to the telltale game design philosophy that players making a choice in their mind of how to act gives them a stronger relationship to the game, even if that agency doesn't change the final outcome much.
In this case, some players get the feeling that they didn't escalate the situation in a way they perceive is dickish and some people get to see funny content and squabble. To each their own, yay for video game interactivity.

Dibs: Top Bunk by kidando 2016-12-14T08:00:00

I like the variety of enemies and how individual instances will have slightly different height movements and things, little number tweaks make a huge difference to the end experience.
I also really enjoyed the fullscreen UI flash when getting hurt, really clear what was happening.

Recoil by BUNN1E5 2016-12-13T07:28:00

Oh man, two of the best things, physics and particles!

Also good use of programmer art.

You shall not pass! by Givit Game Studios 2016-12-13T07:02:00

This game has a nice nostalgic feel to it.

It'd be nice if the guns auto switched with a sfx when you kept clicking and were out of ammo.
I agree with previous comments that its a bit odd that your rotation point is around the gun and not the human center

Fancy Goldfish by A-Flat Miner Studios 2016-12-13T08:43:00

haha at poop and glutton expression. Really cool to see a gamejam game with a backend.

May The User Be With You by Cyberlight 2016-12-13T07:48:00

I love these kind of reversal concepts, or just unique spins on genres.

It was a lot more fun when I discovered the cauldron AOE, wish it had been highlighted more.

Heavy Industries by TurboCorp 2016-12-13T08:02:00

The audio sounded thought out. The concept is fresh, but like most people I don't have friends to rate games with to test how fun it is in its ideal environment.
HappyFunTimes.net kept giving me an error message.

Bye. by Saiodin 2016-12-14T08:12:00

Cool management game, I liked the funny flavor popups, actually made me read them rather than just scan for numbers hehe...

I'd be cool if the UI for research had tooltips for what didn't fit on screen.

One Roomba by KevinWorkman 2017-01-02T01:55:00

My final score: 39.
But dude, no computer is a super hardcore and determined, mind blown.

Claustrophobia by Obvious_San 2016-12-15T05:26:00

Good job on all parts for the team. The upgrades give a good sense of progression for a game jam.

I read the notes after dying a few times, it wasn't immediately clear to me that the room was shrinking because I wasn't killing fast enough, I just thought it was on an invisible timer. Maybe instead of just the room glowing an animation could come out from all monsters to the edges when it shrinks? I dunno.

Swanky Otter Soccer by hijomo 2016-12-15T05:50:00

Otters in top hats? Get otter here.

Roomba Fight Club by JimmothySanchez 2016-12-15T06:30:00

It made me laugh that the second rule of roomba fight club was different than the first.
It's clear who gets the point based on hit location, which is really cool great natural visual indicators of health and damage area. Good player expectations are fun.

Ludum Dare: The Game by DDRKirby(ISQ) 2016-12-30T22:37:00

It's really helpful how you break down how the scoring works, makes even the randomness seem fair.

Worst Mixer Ever by KhaoTom 2016-12-13T06:54:00

Music really shines, makes just the rhythmic clicking kinda fun.

I also liked using the window as a game exit device, especially since so many unity gamejam games don't exit gracefully hehe...

LD39 — Running out of Power

Pipe Trek by quill18 2017-08-03T06:05:19Z

How can I redirect power without going to/from/through the deflector dish. The primary start of all technobabble.

Fukushima Robot by SoKette 2017-08-12T06:02:21Z

Even though blink teleporting used a ton of energy such a fun shortcut addition in a maze. It took me awhile to figure out how to recharge, wish the battery had a glow or something around it when I got close to an area.

Click The Power by hungare 2017-08-12T06:11:31Z

Different concept, The background animation looks polished. It's interesting how the changing colors on the cards makes it so much more difficult to see patterns.

Hamster Wheel Simulator by Laaph 2017-08-02T06:56:54Z

I'm also stuck on the second level. The art was so cute I wish there was a little something like a happy dance animation for beating a level.

Decaying Card Game by filippy 2017-08-03T05:24:07Z

made it to turn 36. Also, I hadn't seen that button generating tool before, it's cool I'm going to have to start using it.

Mars Escape by lukethecoder64 2017-08-12T06:33:00Z

Good concept. It would feel a bit more "space-y" if more of the parameters were tweaked on the standard character controllers ( much lower gravity, faster bouncier movement. ) Also in a finding game like this it'd be nice to have some way to ping a close by object for some hint when stuck even if it costs power.

Take Me Home by Fengol 2017-08-12T07:19:38Z

Nice FTLish start. It's good you got sounds in, hard to judge anything without more scenarios.

Power Grid Graph Nightmare by ultrarat 2017-08-02T07:34:43Z

@evrim, what's your OS and virus scanner? ( I promise it's not malicious btw :)

Running From Power by MichaelGrand 2017-08-02T07:11:22Z

Fun little game. I do think it'd be good if it the title screen waiting until it got a full click before continuing. Basically, since I generally died when space was pressed the game would immediately restart instead of waiting until I released and pressed again.

Superstuff by tddawson 2017-08-12T06:48:54Z

Nice job, ah superstuff's old arch nemesis, low ceilings. I think it'd be nice to have a reticule where I'm aiming, but i get on a mobile device it'd probably just be directly click based.

SPINNER MASTERS by buteratosgames 2017-08-02T08:00:04Z

I liked the art style. As a LD tip you might want to add more of a description and screenshots.

Wires and Robots by MiltonNH25 2017-08-02T07:19:58Z

Nice, always good to see a puzzle game. This might just be because I"m on a touchpad now so can't erase easily but a "clear all" button would have been a quick thing that would make the later stages of the puzzles easier

Snow Train by stupidpawn 2017-08-12T07:31:47Z

interesting take on the theme, running out of all the power sources. Self referencing humor was good. I wish the speech bubbles wouldn't advance until I had actually done the thing it asked ( had trouble figuring out button for snow gathering since I passed through it quickly )

Asolar by krunoslav 2017-08-03T04:50:41Z

Really appreciate the amount of detail in your description, makes it easy to know how to play. The difficulty also ramps up nicely. Pretty sure I died just wasting time getting stuck in objects spawning on top of me and needing to wait to bomb my way out.

Night Light by arch-a-type 2017-08-07T06:22:57Z

Hehe... little girls somehow always make it creepy, but it makes the mood work great. I hit a bug where I somehow teleported on top of the ceiling in at the very start of the level after colliding with it. Other than that good job, I'm really happy to see Godot being used more, I think it's a fun engine to use.

Potential Energy by Carsen D. 2017-08-02T06:37:47Z

The music and the lighting works well together, very much accomplishes your moody goal. Kind of wish first jumping bits weren't such a long fall as I kept hitting the roofs of other platforms and it took awhile to reset so I forgot the first story lines.

Icarus by Jaakko 2017-08-03T00:22:55Z

Icarus, Sun powered game, clever title. I think the charging mechanic maybe be clearer if the slider icons changed when charging vs when they going down maybe. I figured it out by accident really.

Unfueled by spudboy 2017-08-12T07:06:02Z

Great music choice, and thanks for adding a volume slider and graphical how to play to the main menu, I know time is tight for LD but volume sliders like that make it super user friendly.

Flappy Jet by Henry Sneed 2017-08-12T05:55:48Z

Going with flapping plane instead of just a chopper or robot bug made me laugh at that animation. I agree with other's comments above that the hit boxes need to be smaller.

Scrapjunk Couriers by reBTF 2017-08-02T07:50:17Z

Since I didn't play a lot of FTL I died a lot. I wish I could show the annotations when dragging energy since there weren't many other queues which systems were which. Really good job considering the time constraints.

Mr. Blue by VitasaMode 2017-08-08T06:58:30Z

Cute animations. You can change the second label to say "web" instead of "source code" and probably get more plays. Way easier ( for me at least to play the webGL version.

CODE RIDER by Waveform Modulations 2017-08-12T05:37:33Z

The web link doesn't seem to work, had to download but ran fine when I got the windows version. It seems weird that in a programming game semicolon doesn't type out, I was just spamming that out of habit.

LED Adventure -- Running out of Power by ledez 2017-08-02T07:04:47Z

haha... at the parallax resistors. I like how health is the amount of light as well as on the HUD, good UI.

Be The President by MrSerp 2017-08-02T07:38:43Z

Running out of power as fast as possible, very in theme. I like your games writing, and real life has written out some of these characters already.

Office Wars by Lumous 2017-08-02T06:46:23Z

WebGL build was a bit too big for my monitor, had to scroll around to view the HUD

LD46 — Keep it alive

Busy Bee Business by HuvaaKoodia 2020-04-27T03:40:40Z

I see, it's the pine cones that have been killing bees, real life conspiracy mystery solved!

Good relaxing game. Kind of wish the pine cones would destroy if I stopped them for long enough but other than that super zen.

Life of the Party by agentparsec 2020-05-11T06:32:39Z

I really like playing with social interaction concepts as a core gameplay mechanic! The angry sound made me laugh.

Is there a win state where the players anxiety goes away?

Penalizing players for matching color and shape seemed unintuative from my expectation of memory matching games, I kind of wish the last topic would have just been grayed out or something. I think I just had bad RNG luck because I frequently would get topics added to me that were identical to ones I already had that limited my options.

How To Keep The Dance Floor Alive? Answer: Alcohol by ultrarat 2020-04-27T23:42:03Z

@steffo Sorry about that, if it's makes you a bit sick on any unreal game built in a non-shipping mode ( including this ) hit tilde and type `ShowFlag.VisualizeMotionBlur 0` into the console. That should turns off the built in post processing effect at least.

Didn't really have time or a had an existing graphics options menu.

How To Keep The Dance Floor Alive? Answer: Alcohol by ultrarat 2020-05-03T07:33:42Z

@fatpenguin thanks for playing. Those are good suggestions for if we had more time. Thanks for noticing! I make it my personal mission to include my cats in my LD games as an Easter egg... or sometimes more directly :P http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-35/?action=preview&uid=27370

Manual Breathing by legavroche 2020-04-25T06:22:58Z

I feel your pain with the unreal webplayer, props just for that. Funny concept, I wish there was more drama with the tiles disappearing behind you.

Birb Island by ursagames 2020-04-27T03:57:05Z

11/10 You can pet the bird. Seriously huge scope for compo.

I had a small usability issue where I kept forgetting I had to hit "confirm" after gathering a resource. The look of them makes them and frequency makes them seem more like a passing notification rather than a modal to me.

Monster Love by Endurion 2020-04-25T06:02:34Z

Very nice doing a C++ Direct3D game, haven't seen that in awhile.

Seafood by fatPenguin 2020-04-27T05:26:25Z

Haha... very cute, yet dark. Really nice you had time to get the tutorial and lore in game. UI wise I wish the feeding bars on level 3 would stick to the edges of the screen.

Pocket Bomb by Fajpaj 2020-04-27T04:44:34Z

Clean execution of a simple clear concept. I could see a bit more feedback about how much time a successful minigame action bought you being useful.

MR BUZZ'S FANCY-ASS PICNIC by MrLeePerry 2020-04-25T05:10:56Z

I am all about the hat Mr. Buzz is wearing. He is a fancy fly. Nice job

Kardiossomatic by NeitherNathan 2020-04-27T01:46:46Z

Great Atmosphere and clear art direction. Difficulty seems really hard for a jam game where players probably don't have a lot of time to understand how to play, but I get running out of dev time.

SPOF: Single Point Of Failure by spectralcascade 2020-04-27T04:33:39Z

Fun game. Nice you have such a detailed tutorial.

I kind of got stuck early on my first play through because I lost one of the only two connected servers I had and it seems there's no way of making money without that. The game didn't restart or warn me so time just passed.

PARTY ON! by WormholeGames 2020-04-25T05:23:29Z

Bringing Toilet paper to the dance floor was um... filling me with disturbing thoughts that the dance floor might be slippery and not a fun place to be but I guess that was the point. I Would have thought if you needed other party supplies it would just be a candy vending machine or photo booth props.

I like how the spotlights and other club changes happened through the night, nice feel good feedback about progress.

Raising Cerberus by LocksmithArmy 2020-04-25T06:15:43Z

awww... so sad when I make something that cute die. I agree with what others have said in that this fishing is odd, I think the fishing would make more sense from a side perspective rather than top down, and if the things you hit with your lines didn't get destroyed?

Big scope for a jam, good job.

Electro Service 2: Electric Boogaloo by Fedora 2020-04-27T01:27:07Z

I like a good windows screen gets linux os themed fedora viruses haha. I do wish I could see scores in the end even if it breaks the whole meta computer analogy a bit since I can't really tell how I did. Not sure if this was just me but I really wanted to be able to "put back" a tool that I picked up on accident and didn't use.

Whisper of the Flame by Zachary Rodrigue 2020-04-27T03:28:25Z

Great first jam game, wise choice to keep it simple so you can finish.

I like the art choice where the brightness = life.

Keep the party alive by Daniil Tcyvakin 2020-04-27T03:18:50Z

I like the irony in the idea of keeping a party alive by killing the guests, Good concept. But Even with the video I had trouble understanding if a guest was hypnotized.

DiscoPuzzle Flooring Inc. by Marxy 37 2020-04-27T02:05:31Z

I got to 3.36%. I like the pure puzzle concept, but like others have mentioned I think it would work better with preset goals in smaller levels rather than random (seemingly) endless pieces.

Keep Reputation Alive by Chief141 2020-04-27T05:10:31Z

ha, Nice paint particles. I like the narrative.

Was a bit confused you can just run over bushes too? so not sure if anything is special about those tiles?

Party Animal by puntocom 2020-04-27T04:24:25Z

This game cheered me up in that I remembered large crowds can be the worst to clean up and babysit very realistic :)

Fun game, The cute animals made me laugh with the sfx. I'm impressed you got tutorial arrows in.

It seems like the difficulty just ramps up in terms of frantic speed and avoiding running into people, I wonder if there are different way to combine tools or anticipating certain animals having a type of problem. It seems like right now I can only get through under a minute.

Rebooting Flowers by Haoro 2020-04-27T02:33:08Z

Great for a first unity game!

My game design improvement feedback is could use more particles to know the shooting water worked :)

Cool Plants / Chill Beats by Witdarkstar 2020-04-27T03:36:03Z

Good work. I think it nicely adds to the chill feel that theres other things you can interact with. Desk lamp on, Desk lamp off.

When I read idle game I made an assumption I could somehow buy upgrades that would eventually water my plants but I don't think thats the case here.

Keep It Alive! by TeamJS 2020-04-27T03:06:44Z

I found love, or at least a coffee date! I like the theme take. I think it'd be fun to have more reasons to use your phone... like needing to wait for a bus to pass and be tempted to check social media or just wait haha.

Cutie Chowdown by Aaiko 2020-04-27T02:15:55Z

Cute entry. It would help new players a lot if you had more description of the goals I think.

LD49 — Unstable

Bleeding Edge Software by HitchH1k3r 2021-10-16T07:19:30Z

The narrative got a bit dark for me in that I felt a sense of whiplash, from kind of "sensible chuckle" to extensional crisis very quickly.

I think the theme came across best with replacing labels with unlocalized keys. It was the first thing that was like "ah, I see where this is going". Also I'm not sure if it's intended but unity has definitely trained me to see that magenta as a missing texture bug as well.

Most surprising is just from the screenshots how I've just been trained to assume a reigns UI instead of just clicking on cards.

I feel like this is one of those games where you made the game you wanted to make and it fits together in it's own way. I had a lot of trouble seeing the text on the cards I was selecting after the snake game, so things got a bit random for me there.

Meta bug report: There's a typo in your description. "Loose the game" instead of lose.

Hiding Heisenbugs by ultrarat 2021-10-09T17:10:15Z

@raykon The boxes on the side of the grids aren't just supposed to represent machines, but rather they represent individual test runs of software at a specific place and time on a specific machine. So that includes a lot of factors that will cause the software to possibly show different behavior that when a programmer tries to repro it in other circumstances will "work on my machine."

Yeah, the closed doors are a bit of a stretch. Obviously we're not artists and I mechanically just needed something that symbolized a tile the scanners wouldn't be able to look past and you couldn't put a bug down on the tile. I thought that closed doors are the cause of many bugs in video games ( Vox just did a whole video on it www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYEWsLdLmcc ) so fit right into a game where the theme was bugs ( also AI Agents often can't path through to get good automated test coverage.) So really I skinned the blockers as doors there because it's funny to me that "how doors should work but often aren't worth the time to implement because so many things can go wrong" is such a popular game dev discussion.

Hiding Heisenbugs by ultrarat 2021-10-16T05:49:47Z

FYI @wedgiebee @zachary-barbanell @maluskhan @shared and others looking at the length, We added a few more levels in a post jam version, a more gradual ramp up mostly ( not for judging obviously, but good to finish a thing that was bothering me ): https://mollyjameson.github.io/HidingHeisenbugsHosted/

Dimensional Shift by shared 2021-10-06T04:19:09Z

Fun puzzle platformer, I for one love your next level programmer art  Checkpoints would really up the fun factor in the more timing heavy sections.

Dream Dog Dilemma by potatolain 2021-10-08T04:13:36Z

Wow, I'm really impressed with what you were able to accomplish in the jam. Feels very complete and I feel like I get the tone you were going for. The music does really drive home what layer you're on.

CalmR - Rock Skipping Mindfulness by Eli Delventhal 2021-10-05T04:19:26Z

FYI I had to copy paste the link rather than clicking on it, doesn't seem to be downloading immediately.

Human voice and SPLUNK sfx is very relaxing.

Red Flag (Le Temps des Tempêtes) by Achiru 2021-10-08T04:22:24Z

Nice entry. The weather system really makes it more interesting to look at and I kind of felt it made the seas choppier like it should but that was probably just the game progressing.

I do wish there were something a bit more attention drawing as I got lower on health. My death was a bit of a surprise as I wasn't watching the HUD.

( aaaarrrggh... A fine game matey, and other pirate phrases. )

Should I Buy It ? by henriquecanella 2021-10-05T06:19:31Z

Very unstable news cycle ;) These guys sell some papers. I wish there were some tooltips on mouse hover for what some of the later purchases were. A few of them were hard to tell what text they related to.

MANIC MELTDOWN! by David Bohan 2021-10-06T06:08:49Z

Good job, I liked the consistent humor tone.

Some of the platforming surprised me a little bit, I would expect the thing elevator type platforms to have cloud collision and let me jump through them on the way up and just stop me landing, instead I found I got stuck on corners in the room in the upper right.

BRUTEFORCE by TotteriLudum 2021-10-16T06:53:17Z

Great game. This is one of the most complete narrative games I've seen in LD, congrats. I had fun but still lost.

I bought so much into the world thanks to the CRT effects that every time I couldn't get left/right arrow/home and repeat key pressed didn't work it was a super jarring fantasy break, which means the rest of it is really immersive. That said props for putting in up arrow as a priority, I am for sure one of those people who will hit up 20 times to not retype "ls" :)

SNOOZLE! by wedgiebee 2021-10-06T05:44:48Z

I loled every time at the star grabbing animation. The music is super fitting too. It's feels like a cozy Ikaruga.

I kind of wish the head/hand selection was on mousewheel instead of right click so I could directionally control them and right click was for skipping the current color though.

A Spelling Error by Naymsayk 2021-10-08T03:59:08Z

I love a good old punny as the name, spell hehe. The screenshots and name made me first think it was going to be a typing game rather than a word puzzle game though. I beat the demo without understanding the insert mechanic so maybe more explanation is needed there?

Bitkgrieg by Mato 2021-10-05T04:03:05Z

I really like the concept, but was also confused about if I was in the buy or sell state at first. Good job finishing a LD game, always fun to see Godot games on here.

It'd also be easier to compare my scores to other people if there was a set time limit or some monthly checkpoints for an end goal.

LD55 — Summoning

Necromatcher by wilsk 2024-04-26T08:24:51Z

Well crafted puzzles. I realize this is probably part of the difficulty but man, my kingdom for an undo.

Unpacking Armageddon by notnasiul 2024-04-29T04:48:56Z

I win! Fun and lets me get out years of anger at the entire sokoban genre of puzzles. I do wish there was a separate animation state indicating the character was in a "pull" state though.

This is the first game I've seen using Defold, how do you like it? Was thinking of trying it next Jam.

Summoners Word by aevek 2024-04-25T08:06:17Z

Fun puzzle, glad you were able to finish something. and cool someone else used bevy! I was able to get past the first few levels but kind of got stuck. Would really like some first letter limited hint to at least get on the right track although I realize starting/ending letters is the primary clue it's easy just to feel stuck.

Stars Align by cassowary 2024-04-26T08:41:05Z

Well done, feels different but still knowable. The levels pacing feels right for concept introductions.

Shadows of the Devils by PatteDeCanaard 2024-04-29T04:40:24Z

Wow, you have a lot of layers that got in, very fun. Really impressed with getting all the connective bits like the map and choices together for a jam. The main thing that seemed missing was not having a way to view my current health and candle status on the card choice screen.

The Duke's Cartographer. by Wolfier 2024-04-25T06:17:15Z

Very nice game. The game feel is very nice to use, I was happy to see my character just path around the stumps if I held a direction down.

Because of the square grid shape it took me a bit to realize I was mapping the edges and not the tiles, but then was able to stamp stuff down.

Illusions of Grandeur by Koolruz 2024-04-29T04:30:49Z

Nice puzzle. The showing the cube in the right preview position feels really good under your cursor when in a valid position, but when in an invalid position the lack of snapping made me feel like I was guessing and floating a bit.

Three Sigils by galactical 2024-04-25T07:55:02Z

Very interesting. I didn't make an immediate connection between the shape implying the rules, but was able to figure it out. I'm glad there was a way out of The Eternal Suffering room first as they was the first thing I did seeing the text.

Pictomancer by RobLaro 2024-04-26T07:39:47Z

Fun game. I wish the sfx audio had a bit more variety as it did get kind of scratchy when I kept being a perfectionist and redrawing. It's not something I usually think about how much harder it is to draw slight curves with a mouse than any lines.

Poizon Pets by LeiGGaRFeeD 2024-04-16T03:07:06Z

I got all 10 creatures. I like the cats.

The hitbox for the red potion is a bit big, I accidently clicked red when I meant blue a few times. It'd be nice to have more reminders about what combos I already tried and some kind of mastermind style number of guesses until failure.

The Gateway by Congeesetador 2024-04-16T03:17:56Z

hm, I downloaded the exe from here and similar to silverice above I could only talk to people and shoot lasers. I tried some buttons randomly to see if there was an inventory of some kind but even the scientist on the bottom didn't seem to offer me paint.

I do love me some expanded lore though.

Burn with me by Nozomu57 2024-04-26T08:17:22Z

Very nice! Thank you so much for the design decision to do the math for me and show the + green numbers before placing a card.

Process Server by Omitsu 2024-04-16T03:26:39Z

Dog name reveal got a sensible chuckle out of me.

I wish it was a bit more forgiving on when interact would work, I felt like I needed to be really on top of everyone instead of at a reasonable talking/serving distance before Spacebar would work and didn't have any prompts that it would

Crypt Decrypt by StorythreaderFox 2024-05-01T03:04:46Z

Fun puzzle, your screen transitions look polished. Tip for folks playing after me, the summon HUD button is offscreen until you fullscreen on the itch webgl build.

Summoning Salesman by Merb1000 2024-04-16T03:45:59Z

Very nice game. I can see all the systemy design that came with it and it has a nice zen tone. It's a bit hard to get a sense of "progress" without some sort of UI letting me remember all the combos. I like that the cards have an immediate sense of rarity, very clear. I'm not sure I felt rewarded enough when I combined 3 cards instead of 2.

Super Pal Summoner! by Meepster 2024-04-26T08:29:17Z

Nice game. I'm always so happy when I see time for little polish optional features in jams, "Bubbles On" forever.

Demonic Summoning Simulator by _luceoon 2024-04-25T05:50:40Z

The atmosphere is very cool everything really fits together well. I Could use a bit more prompting on the controls. I was accidently ending with space a lot.

Summon & Chill by Flogram 2024-04-16T03:35:33Z

Birder x Runner by Local Minimum 2018-04-30T04:44:34Z

As not an outdoorsy person I had no idea how incompatible bird watching and running were until I was trying when playing your game, I've learned something today.

Eldritch Engines by CameronPenner 2018-04-25T03:42:42Z

The concept and audio made me laugh out loud on just the title screen. This is one of the few games that hits the "mood" and "humor category. Although it would have felt better with controller analog support though.

Sandwich with Pigeon Meat by rodancheg 2018-05-01T05:29:26Z

I got 3000 points. I don't think the embedded window size on itch is right, I was missing the entire bottom menu until I fullscreened.

Zeus Fever by ret44 2018-04-28T18:27:52Z

Very cute sprites and sound. It is unexpectedly missing some conversions of the genres like the towers not prioritizing the creeper closest to the end of the path and the match 3 part not allowing input by clicking on one piece then another and instead forcing you to always drag. I suppose problems like this are the issue when needing to do twice as much for two types of games in a short timeframe.

Citizenship++ by Andrew Castillo 2018-04-25T03:30:38Z

I like the idea, but I also kept getting unlucky and the first alpha lock I found only got me 3 currency and they felt really rare. Good job being super intuitive when I was ready to quit I just typed "exit" out of habit without thinking and it worked.

Quiz Shooter by drmargarido 2018-04-30T04:39:50Z

Trivia questions are hard to pick/write and these felt pretty spot on in terms of not being to esoteric or easy, good job. Human sfx always make me laugh.

Kinbaku by vkmicro 2018-05-01T05:41:00Z

The ability to regrab the ropes when you get hit successfully makes it not too punishing, but your first time to a certain area feels like some trial and error is required.

I really like that your credits screen at the end is interactive, that little extra bit of polish is noticeable.

Version 0.80s by Vovin 2018-04-30T03:17:28Z

Cool, The neon lights make it clear where to go and give it a unique art style. I agree I think I'd stay in the flow more if End Turn were just a keyboard button with maybe a confirmation prompt than having to switch into menu controls.

Very Realistic Waiter Simulator by Nathalia Hohl 2018-04-25T04:36:43Z

I think some of these customers are actually too nice, only thing breaking the realistic immersion. Blender is hardcore so good getting these done in the jam timeframe.

Beat The Narrator! by CursedEmbassy 2018-05-01T06:32:04Z

I really liked the hand colored art style. Some of the jumps are really long for a game that isn't really a hardcore platformer and could just checkpoint respawn you nearer to the jump you died in rather than the restarting.

Hope you recovered everything else on your computer okay, sounds like that super sucked.

Sleeping Titanium by Poorwill 2018-05-01T05:52:47Z

Solid combo of two genres. I wish the clicker purchases had some indication of their energy per second generation so you have better choices on what has the best return.

Puzzle Tower by NilC 2018-04-25T23:09:05Z

Fun, I think it's generally a better jam strategy to have fun mechanics over a few levels than trying to just stick with content you had that wasn't working. Leave us wanting more... although I suspect more would just be procedural level generation if there was time.

Baby Shrimp by Maskrosen 2018-04-30T04:14:39Z

awwww, Cute Pet, the most important part of a pet sim. Since it requires two clicks to move it be nice if I had a highlight or something for my first click. I haven't seen a game requiring the JRE in awhile and like to use gamejams for new tech. I hadn't heard of libgdx, seems cool.

Ms Grunhilde's Sandwiches by pparadigm 2018-05-01T06:44:56Z

Welcome to Ludum Dare, congrats on your first entry it's super cute and well set up by the sad mood start!

As a playtest comment I found myself wanting the tip of the knife to be in the peanut butter jar, and not my mouse cursor which was way down on the handle.

Talking Bullets by Bentekiller 2018-05-01T06:09:58Z

Congrats on finishing your first entry! Learning to work with what kind of art you can create is a skill that develops over a few jams. I like how the game like a triple genre combo shooter + detective + platformer ( I did get stuck in some platforms though )

Universe Godot Control by Klaus Dellano 2018-04-30T04:23:45Z

I feel you're being busy but still wanting to submit pain. Yeah, High five for finishing something playable! Also high five for Godot default assets speeding up development!

Card Defence by Andregh 2018-04-25T03:41:19Z

Having full area of effect cards made me feel super powerful, nice. It'd be easier for new players if you had a "how to play/controls" section in you're description. Hit a bug when clicking fast through the menu I somehow ended up with "NaN" values on all the cards making them free.

Farmer's Delight: A Twin-Stalk Shooter by Dovakla 2018-04-30T03:42:36Z

Nice, you got a lot in. The shop is hard to discover on your own since the farming part of the game makes it seem like you should plant ( hehe ) yourself in one place and not explore much. I think it's clearer if you update your description to include features like the shop. I had to play again because I try not to read comments before I play, but always read the descriptions carefully.
