Interesting game with a lot of features! :O I like the look and feel also with fitting music. Good job!

achehex 2021-10-05 20:31

What an absolute charming game. Visuals have a really really really nice style to them and the audio perfectly compliments the chill energy in the game.

At first I thought I was playing a Wario Ware type game without the ticking time bomb, but after the levels finish introducing their mechanics the puzzle aspect is just perfect, I was amazed at how deep it ended up being.

My one complain is that the moons don't behave super consistently, specially since it seems the colors of each object on screen is randomized but there's only one solution. I don't exactly what level it was but it had two columns of 3 moons at the bottom of the screen and in one run all those moons were blue but the game only allowed me to connect some specific pairs.

Other than that weird little quirk this is definitely one of my favourite games so far. Great work!

wedgiebee 2021-10-06 05:12

@achehex Thanks for the feedback about the moons! Yeah looking back there's some reaaal ambiguity there, and it works best when the specific pairs are randomly assigned to each have their own color - which isn't the usual case! Definitely something to rethink if we revisit the game :)

I loled every time at the star grabbing animation. The music is super fitting too. It's feels like a cozy Ikaruga.

I kind of wish the head/hand selection was on mousewheel instead of right click so I could directionally control them and right click was for skipping the current color though.

zvyaga 2021-10-06 06:23

Sticky and very colorful. I would like to sleep like that too.

christian-l 2021-10-06 06:25

Visuals and Sound are great. Gameplay is easy to understand. Only thing i noticed is that at the end of a level you might into a situation where you have to wait for the right color to appear, if there is only like one object left to pick, which feels a bit tedious. Overall lovely game though.

alan001 2021-10-06 06:30

Great game with great visuals and sounds VERY EPIC

elazulus 2021-10-06 06:36

Woah!

What a fun little puzzle game! How calming :)

After the tutorial levels, it really got fun! My one issue is the star grabbing portions were maybe the least engaging part and just felt somewhat tedious at some point, especially since the stars were kinda small. All the other puzzles were fun to figure out!

Only other thing is I'm not entirely sure how it fits the theme.. but I'm sure there's something I missed.

Great game, nice work here :)

Nice game~

Art is great, music is great, concept is great!

I can just click a start when my hand cant reach it,so i dont need to change it. Maybe you can limit the click range~

Followed you and waiting for your new games~Wish you can try my game too~

This was a nice refreshment. Good Job Guys! I enjoyed it very much. I think you could even go for a smaller version. For me even only the first part (before the puzzle part) was pretty enough to like it very much. :)

beats 2021-10-06 07:00

A nice combination zen and puzzle game, chill vibes from the music and short puzzles and non-punishing levels. Needing to change from different arms to head was just the right amount of challenging, nice work.

peachtreeoath 2021-10-06 08:46

Whoa what a ride! I initially thought it might be a sort of aim trainer with different kinds of mode switching, but you took this mechanic all the way to the end and explored so many aspects I wouldn't even have thought of. You actually introduced the puzzley elements at the perfect time, because the clicking aspect was just about to start getting stale.

I really loved that you didn't make the lose results affect you that badly. Just a few seconds lost really. I actually like that you didn't put a speedrun timer up which is very popular in LD. I normally don't have anything against that mechanic, but after playing your game I realized how damaging that kind of mechanic could be. It would really ruin the chill atmosphere, and I wouldn't have been able to appreciate all the small details you put in.

The art is super cool and I've never seen a nice, textured mouse cursor like that. I'd actually love to know how you created that gel/clay like texture on everything. I'm not very good at 3d so everything looks like default unity stuff when I try it.

I thought this game was truly excellent and you just kept impressing me around every corner. Usually with LD puzzle games with lots of stages, I quickly go "ok I get it, show me something new". That didn't happen with this game, which deserves a lot of praise!

alex-chertilin 2021-10-08 08:50

I don't wanna wake up.) Nice bunch of small activities in beautiful and creative environment

nicmagnier 2021-10-08 09:01

I really had fun.

At first with all the introduction levels, I though the gameplay was a bit too shallow (click the star, collect the moon, etc.) but that the presentation was fantastic. But I was suprised when you started to introduce proper puzzle levels because I didn't expect it at the point. So I would say that there is maybe too much tutorialization and that it doesn't really show the real game early enough.

Oh and I loved the transition, when you yoom in the guy in the UI being the next level. That super well done and a really nice touch.

Amazing work on the game!!

cain-sanches 2021-10-08 22:21

I love everything about it, i was desesperate playing because I am daltonic but It was very fun, I had a lil difficulty in the "draw the line" moment but it was quickly, good job

hcs-hades 2021-10-09 00:53

Lots of great mechanics :)

automatonvx 2021-10-09 11:38

Really like the visual style and music, overall had a cool aesthetic, reminded me of those old cute stop frame claymation things. Was impressed that you managed to get the sort of IK for the model to control the hand working pretty nicely. Gameplay was ok, probably a lot more fun on a touch screen than using a trackball mouse. Made it through quite a few levels up to the ball to bed section before I had had enough. On the first moon level, it took me a little while to realise that I had to right click to cycle through the 3 modes and use the appropriate one, so maybe that could have been clearer. I was also sort of surprised there was no timer element to complete a level, In a way I was relieved there wasn't because I was pretty slow, but also it may have made the gameplay more compelling. Overall a Solid entry and interesting take on the theme. Thanks

wedgiebee 2021-10-09 16:09

@peachtreeoath Thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it! The gel/claylike texture is just a result of the way @jim-quinn modeled everything, combined with Unity's default URP shader and how we positioned the one directional light. For animated things, like the cursor/stars/moon/saucers, he also used shape keys/blend shapes so that definitely adds to it also!

@cain-sanches Sorry about the color-based mechanic! In the future would definitely incorporate some shape/pattern differentiation also. Glad you enjoyed it!

binaryprinciple 2021-10-14 00:57

Well, this is very unique, quite a chill game honestly. I see a lot of potential in different areas: as a chill game, as an educational game, for kids or people trying to regain motor control of their hands. Very cool and unique game, although I don't see too much relation to the theme.

arbe 2021-10-14 15:05

Love the graphics and music, the little bed being incorporated into the level transition animation was really neat. I think there were a bit too many stars in the introductory levels.

dunk 2021-10-14 15:12

Very trippy and stylish game with nice light puzzling - it definitely gets more interesting when the puzzles come in. Personally I found the colour change somewhat frustrating, and would rather have buttons to switch (a key for each colour rather than a single click button) since there were no time restraints anyway. I get why you might not want to do that, since fighting to get into the right mode at the right time is most of the challenge anyway.

The clay animations and pointing animations are very well polished, and the music suits the game well.

soul-grinder 2021-10-16 21:32

Really enjoyed this, it's kind of hypnotising and some nice relaxing music too. I like the graphics and the arm and head game mechanics, and also the way the level transitioned in a dream like way. Great work and good luck with the jam!

britt-henderson 2021-10-16 21:40

This is really really incredible. The mood and the music are insanely good. The puzzles are super fun too. Really really well done :) I don't entirely see how this relates to the theme, but other than that everything here is just so on point. The transitions, the game play, the motions and the controls - it's all really amazing. I think the only small piece of feedback that could I could give would be to give stars and things a dark outline so that the player can recognize them against the background and against the player when he is of that color. This is such a creative, cute, well done game. Really awesome job :)

2021-10-20 09:50

I love the graphics on this! I included it in my Ludum Dare 49 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/_QnfntM1G-4

ava-skoog 2021-10-21 19:38

Quite unique! Cool 3D stuff going on with the arms, bit hard to control / be precise, maybe there should be more leeway. Lot of atmosphere going on with the chill music and the dreamy setting, so it's nice the game isn't very stressful even when there are a lot of things to interact with 😊 Nice to have something new to do each time, which is introduced fairly well with the speech bubbles, tho I was a bit confused about the different arms and the head before I got to a level that actually used them 😅 Very cool stuff!

samuel-fine 2021-10-21 19:44

What fantastic art direction! Reminds me a bit of Julian Glander, who made the game Art Sqool. https://twitter.com/glanderco Lots of polish and a game theme+mechanic I've never seen before, impressive achievement all around for a jam game!

peace-of-cake-games 2021-10-21 19:56

Aww, what an adorable and fun game! The beautiful graphics remind me of claymation and children's books at the same time. The ever-evolving gameplay never got boring one bit, and had a perfect difficulty curve (meaning I never lost on the physics-based puzzles but I had to think increasingly large amounts to figure them out). The controls weren't too bad on a laptop touchpad, probably the most touchpad-friendly game aimed at mouses I've seen.

wedgiebee 2021-10-21 20:11

@arbe Yeah looking back I really went ham on putting a bunch of stars in there. Thanks for the feedback!

@dunk The color-changing is supposed to be what makes the game "unstable" but I don't think it really nails the theme connection in the way it wanted to  I definitely get your note about wanting to change things with a keyboard press. One thing I had been considering was doing that with the hands/head, instead of having to cycle through them. But didn't get around to it!

@britt-henderson Great note!! Those stars do get hard to see when the colors match

@jupiter-hadley Thanks for including us! :)

@samuel-fine What a cool artist!!! Ty for sending!

@peace-of-cake-games Wow seems tricky on a touchpad, but glad you made it work and enjoyed it!! :)
