LD42 — Running out of space

Ghost Cleaner by akai_0okami 2018-09-01T01:57:17Z

It's really charming!

I wish there were more stealth mechanics to allow you to be in the same room as the person, since there were a lot of times when I couldn't really do anything until the person left the room. Being able to drop items would also be helpful.

Nice job!

The Grand Order by Frozen Stick 2018-08-28T21:39:08Z

What's a good strategy for the combat? It felt like I was just slowly losing health and magic and I couldn't find a way to heal myself. It also needs to be much faster.

King of the Crows Nest by tiffi 2018-09-01T01:35:03Z

This is really fun! The shark is a great way to give you an option to recover even if you've been knocked all thew way down that is still tense. The physics felt a little unpolished and the graphics were too dark in some areas to clearly see where the platforms were, but very impressive other than that. This would be great with multiplayer and some items.

ARSONIST by Repusv 2018-09-01T00:48:04Z

This is fantastic! It's so simple but it's so fast-paced and well-executed. The shaders and burning physics are incredible. This is definitely one of, if not the best game I've played so far.

Like others said, multiplayer would be great. I also ran into a bug a couple of times where I would die but the game wouldn't end.

Little Shop of Junk by auxC 2018-08-28T22:32:33Z

This is great! It's simple but it fits the theme perfectly. I wish the RNG on item drops was a little nicer, and, like people have said, it sometimes felt impossible to put all the items on the counter in later levels. I made it to day 4.

Amazing job!

Become a Monster by Rodrigo Denúbila 2018-08-16T20:36:21Z

It's very unique and surprisingly fun. My only complaints are that I wish there was a better way to see which equipment you'd already finished and I didn't get the room closing system until too late. Good work!

GRANDMA KNIGHT by manusaiz 2018-08-16T19:10:16Z

This is really good! I'm impressed that you got so emotion into a jam game like this. Making levels shorter was a good way of balancing the gameplay as it got more frustrating, but some of them still felt too boring to me. I also sort of wish that the bears. I didn't encounter any bugs or confusing playing it.

Test Subject 42 by nihilaleph 2018-08-28T21:57:37Z

This is pretty fun! It took me a while to realize how to interact with the buttons at first (I tried to hit them with the mug), but other than that everything was self-explanatory.

I think I was able to pass without balancing the sphere on the cylinder though.

Runventory by fusionnist 2018-09-01T01:47:52Z

The graphic are great but I had no idea how it worked. I eventually figured out that the faces are bad, since they never went away, so I managed to get 924 points by just collecting everything and avoiding the faces.

How do the combinations work?

Narrowing by optimatica 2018-09-01T01:01:00Z

It's really polished, but it's also very simple and gets repetitive quickly. Like everyone else said, I think there should be a way to tell the block's color from the outside, since it is just random guessing. Adding items or enemies or something in the blocks would also make it much more fun.

What does laser size do? I just put almost all of my points into laser power.

CLAMPRESSOR File Archiver by Deaymon 2018-08-16T19:41:30Z

This is a nice little match-3 game! The controls are a bit weird but I got used to them pretty quickly. The thing that kept throwing me off was that you can't make vertical matches or matches with >3 files. I like the visuals and music a lot too, and the starting and ending cutscenes were funny. Nice work!

Smoke: it's ok to feel by Lumpy 2018-08-28T23:03:53Z

This is beautiful. All aspects of this work so well together, and the bouncing text is a really clever drunkenness mechanic. It's always really impressive to me when people manage to talk about serious subjects well in a jam game like this. Amazing work!

20000 Leaks Under the Sea by webthingee 2018-08-28T22:40:03Z

This is a fun little game! The graphics are really cute and it's a clever take on the theme. My one complaint is that the RNG doesn't seem very balanced. I played it several times and never really got close to losing. Great job!

Temple of Ungrow by Dovakla 2018-08-16T20:21:31Z

@swordfish was that the first trial you did? I'll check the colliders on that platform to try and fix that clipping issue. You can press R at any time to exit a trial and return to the main hallway.

Temple of Ungrow by Dovakla 2018-08-17T16:17:19Z

@sambi thanks! You can do a lot more if you don't budget time for polishing.

@swordfish thanks for all the feedback. I don't think that the growing mechanic would have really been impactful if it was totally linear except as an aesthetic thing. It did mean that I had to basically design three rooms per room though.

Temple of Ungrow by Dovakla 2018-09-01T00:50:35Z

@nihilaleph thanks for playing! What happened with the key? Grabbing can be very finicky. I couldn't get to a point where I was satisfied with the controls either. I thought that flying up the ladder like that was fun enough to leave it in though.

Clutter Dungeon by kodran 2018-08-28T19:30:19Z

This is a clever prototype, but it is very easy and a little slow. A more fleshed-out version later with more objects and interactions (I really wish I could open chests!) could be a lot of fun.

Good job!

Amobo by dog_bone42 2018-09-01T01:21:12Z

Congrats on making your first game!

It really needs a system to indicate where you're supposed to put each box, since otherwise it's sort of frustrating guesswork. I would also like to be able to see these Amobos.

Electric Fence - Micro B by Capital-Asterisk 2018-08-28T21:49:00Z

The movement could be really fun with a little more polish. Turning while moving tilts the gun downwards, so circling around large groups of enemies doesn't work since you just shoot into the floor. It also can be frustrating when you get caught on walls.

What inspired you to make the gun sideways?

Scrap Yard by CandleBird 2018-08-28T22:50:26Z

Very good enemy designs and concept. I also wish that the walls were faster, since I couldn't tell that they were actually closing in. I also didn't realize that I was taking damage; I thought the enemies were also just trying to knock me into the walls. Good job!

Shelf Life by Grawly 2018-08-16T19:19:07Z

It's very funny, but it was sort of frustrating/confusing to play. I don't like how quickly the trophies fall after spawning, and I wish there was some way to counter the family. I guess it didn't really matter though, since you only need to actually save one trophy to win?

The ending is beautiful.

We are running out of Space Janitors by DUandI 2018-09-01T01:10:44Z

This is fun! My record is 500 points. I think there should be a little bit of leeway before the slime puddles are harmful, since I got hurt a lot by the blue ones immediately after killing them.

Also, I love that closing it while the game is running makes it do the spiraling game over animation.

LD44 — Your life is currency

Fake game by PoV 2019-05-19T17:13:24Z

It was okay, but I don't really get how it was related to the theme at all?

Is it a drag? by harark 2019-05-21T17:15:29Z

This is really interesting! It took me a bit to figure out how to play, but once I understood it it was really engaging. I like how it starts by asking about your life, even before you have any idea of what the game will be like.

Underworldey (VR Only) by shadowbrain 2019-05-20T19:18:08Z

I like the graphics a lot, especially how violent the chest bite feels. Combat was okay, but I think it would benefit a lot from adding knockback or particle effects to make it clear when you do damage. It also felt like it was impossible to avoid the pustule things in a lot of situations since their range was so large. I also didn't understand how chests worked. I got something in one that looked like a fireball with a +, but I couldn't figure out if it did anything. This might just be a personal preference thing, but I wish movement was based on the direction of the controller instead of the direction you're facing. It felt difficult to move precisely.

Gravy Train by pkenney 2019-05-19T17:47:40Z

This is great! The sprites are really charming and the attack is surprisingly satisfying. It's simple but very easy to pick up and play. I would have liked more distance signs, since it's a little long without much background movement.

I met expectations in both metrics.

Galactic Boarder by neontropics 2019-05-19T16:02:40Z

I like the graphics a lot but it's really hard to play. I keep falling off the map or into the gaps in it.

Super Powerup Dash by ETHproductions 2019-05-21T19:18:04Z

It is very short, but the platforming works well and there's an impressive amount of variety in the upgrades and the different types of obstacles. I wish it was a little faster overall though. It's definitely a good start to a game. Good job getting something done!

Jailocorp by jaywoody 2019-05-19T16:36:31Z

I played the post-compo one and got the chess and button puzzles but I had no idea what to do with either set of levers. The chess one was really clever.

Devil's Bank - Your life is currency! by Wicked 2019-05-21T17:37:23Z

The graphics, music, and sound effects are all great, but the gameplay was pretty slow and repetitive. It was a lot of clicking on the cat to skip through all of its dialogue. I couldn't tell if the person's dialogue had anything useful, and some of the things the thing on the right said didn't seem to correspond with intimidating/seducing. I think the concept is interesting and I like the mechanics you have, but it could be streamlined a lot and, with more time, could have more variety. Still very impressive for a jam game, especially visually.

Ransom by CaramelCode 2019-05-20T19:39:46Z

That's really cute! I love the family aspect of it. I wish there was a way to get more life somehow, but it's short enough that it didn't run out for me in my playthrough. Great job!

Demon of Doom by JPiolho 2019-05-20T19:32:50Z

It's an okay start to a game. It felt really hard for me to actually hit people with the attack, since you have to be so close to them and they're always running. The first-person claw animation was cool.

Odd Jobs on a Day in Summer by spudboy 2019-05-20T17:39:23Z

Very charming! The graphics and music work great together. I wish there was a little more to it though. I thought I could bribe the police officer once I got the money but I guess he only cares about crime.

Mani by Tex Killer 2019-05-21T17:47:52Z

I really like the mechanic of changing sizes and all the different versions of Mani are cute and creative. The platforming felt a little weird, especially with how jumping isn't immediate. There were a few places where I got stuck. It was also sometimes very hard to avoid getting hit with the cane, especially when you're small and the camera is close. Is there a way to restart the game? I died a lot and it was frustrating to have to quit and reopen the application. It seemed to all run perfectly for me.

Great job!

Little Robot by Waveform Modulations 2019-05-20T19:34:44Z

I like it. It took me a few tries to realize that you aren't supposed to fight the robots and that you can break the metal objects for batteries. The mouse is too sensitive and the robot's body sort of gets in the way of shooting once you have the gun. The music and graphics are great! It reminded me of Nier.

TheGuard by 4Knights 2019-05-19T17:32:48Z

It's an interesting concept and I like the visual style, but I don't really understand why a lot of these actions cost money. I think it might be better if the stat was something more abstract like how much the warden or prisoners like you? You could also work that into more of a story, like having a riot or escape attempt happen after a few days where the outcome is based on which group likes you more.

Also, one of the prisoners says that they'll give you cash if you let them nap, but letting them nap costs money. Is that just a lie?

Vegetable man by gankei 2019-04-30T16:18:45Z

The music and graphics are really cute, but I don't really get the gameplay. It seems like it's sort of easy to survive forever if you just click when you get close to the max health so that it never increases and you always get money immediately.

Soulbound by Dovakla 2019-05-20T18:59:53Z

@pkenney Yeah, I badly ran out of time so the menus don't scale at all. Thanks for your honesty.

Soulbound by Dovakla 2019-05-21T16:52:40Z

@4knights thanks for the advice! I had no idea that fixing that would be so easy. The negative health thing is a bug; thanks for pointing that out too. I fixed it and reuploaded to itch.

@pkenney the UI should work now if you're still interested.

Soulbound by Dovakla 2019-05-21T19:40:09Z

@corny thanks! The complexity came at the cost of content and real progression, unfortunately. Yeah, I probably should have made the dialogue skippable. At first I thought it would be sort of an extra challenge, like some of the puzzles in Minit, but it is probably too slow and repetitive.

Blood Type Z by Ceuteum 2019-05-19T16:47:42Z

The character is cute and the sounds are good. The description of the game (syringe umbrella) implies that there could be an interesting story to the world. It's too bad that you couldn't finish more but that's the way it goes in a jam. What do the different color vials do? Are they just different amounts of health?

Pastemates Overdrive!!! by TinyMushroom 2019-05-19T16:53:22Z

My biggest complaint is that you need to make the gas meter last a lot longer, especially since it's hard just to figure out where to go. The first time I played I ran out of gas before picking up any food. Adding a minimap would help a lot. The car controls felt pretty good, although it tips over very easily.

Dragon's Den by LittleW00D 2019-05-19T16:08:48Z

Great work! It's very simple to pick up and the sounds and graphics are very charming. I definitely see the Game & Watch inspiration. I think it would be better if gems didn't despawn so you were forced to move around more. I realized that if I went all the way to the left I could shoot right to hit everything, which made the game pretty easy.

Pharaoh's Purse by Vanea 2019-05-21T17:26:21Z

The graphics are cute and I like the music a lot, but I wish it had some sound effects. I also think there should be an indicator of the range of the towers themselves. The small circle of the urns felt very limiting, especially since it can barely reach the path in most places. The mechanics all seem to work perfectly and I like the variety in the tower abilities. Great job!

Mr. Moneybag's Great Adventure by Grangerer 2019-04-30T16:03:44Z

This is really good! It's fun to play and the levels are all cleverly designed. My one complaint is that it's pretty hard to aim the coin when you're trying to stun guards. Great job!

Money is Time by BIOBOOSTERPIXEL 2019-05-21T17:02:32Z

The graphics and sound are great, but I think the gameplay is too simple to be very interesting. It might be better if you could put in more coins to increase your odds of getting a specific result. This would represent trying harder for a specific goal of marriage/children/money. It also might make sense if the odds of each changed as you got older. I had a kid at 80, which is probably not great for me or the kid.

Feed My Sheep by mmmmGoodDinner 2019-05-19T17:12:14Z

It's pretty but I didn't get it. I played for two days but I never saw a wolf so I was just holding space and walking forward.

The Adventures of Cat Bat by BirchTree 2019-05-19T17:03:37Z

This is pretty good! I really like how each floor has different enemies and obstacles. It didn't feel like buying upgrades was worth it, especially since it always felt like a better strategy to avoid enemies instead of fighting. Maybe make it so they can drop hearts too. The boss killed me pretty much immediately, so maybe I should have practiced attacking more.

Piggy Bank's Adventure by Comet From Outer Space 2019-05-19T17:19:19Z

It's very cute and seems to play well. Pretty good idea for the theme. It's unfortunately very short, but I would definitely play more levels.

LD45 — Start with nothing

TwT by OddballDave 2019-10-25T18:24:26Z

This is really good, and I like how chaotic it got trying to manage lots of places in the late-game. I also love that you unlock more mechanics as you go with the research and PR systems. One big complaint is that I really wish it always showed you the cost of your next unlock, since it's hard to tell what your goal should be. I got the moon base, but should I keep playing?

Great work!

You found nothing. by atraxgames 2019-10-11T17:53:24Z

It's like A Dark Room but rude. Like everyone else said, I wish the text was faster, but it's still pretty compelling to see what else you'll find. Is there an end state to it? I got the shop and bought and drank a bunch of beer, but then it seemed to stop. Did I miss anything?

Nothing to Say by celia14 2019-10-25T16:49:44Z

That's a clever interpretation of the theme and it turned out really cute. Great job!

Unfinished: The Game by jondalnas 2019-10-22T21:21:52Z

The climbing animation looks pretty good, but I can't figure out how to make it work consistently. Even though I'm holding shift, she usually doesn't grab onto the arms after a jump. Am I missing something?

The Chronicles of Stênio by UnidayStudio 2019-10-27T21:18:37Z

This is a really solid jam game. My one complaint is that the combat felt bad. I think adding some knockback on the attacks and lowering the enemies' health would improve it a lot, since I only beat one enemy and then never bothered with it again.

The controls for everything else felt really good though, and, even though the level had a complicated layout, I never felt like I was lost and couldn't make any more progress. Really impressive graphics and music too.

Great job!

FYB by herinque 2019-10-11T21:39:35Z

The atmosphere is cool but it's sometimes too dark to see, especially in the air ducts, and the fixed angle on the camera during the part where you're the optical sensor usually made it harder. I also didn't realize that I had to open the door at first. Maybe add a UI prompt when the player can interact with things?

GeoKill by Felipe Guimaraes 2019-10-11T17:17:45Z

It's short, but it is fun all the way through. I really liked the idea of getting to use the gun that the boss uses, but I guess the triangle's is too powerful for that. Good work!

Pie Witch by jandourek 2019-10-25T17:21:35Z

It's really cute, and it could definitely be a good start to something more fleshed-out. The pie-making system works really well and it was a lot of fun to explore the world.

If you do want to expand it, maybe NPCs could place orders where they want pies that match a specific flavor profile, like with the system @jandourek described. If the NPCs are monster or cloaked figures, it would make sense that they might want something nasty.

Great work!

Untitled Robot Game by Roitchie 2019-10-27T23:05:27Z

This is definitely a great start! I really like how some of the different items have multiple uses (in inventory vs placed on pedestals). It might be a bit too easy since every pedestal can only have one type of thing in it so you never have to experiment.

Good work!

Rag Racer or: How I learned to stop worrying and love the bump by CaptainDreamcast 2019-10-11T20:52:21Z

I like the bit with the coin, and I did actually put a dime on my PC.

I finished the game, but I never felt comfortable with the controls at all. It did look pretty authentic though.

Modular Mayhem by Dovakla 2019-10-11T17:13:27Z

@kuviman yeah. It gets easier once you find braking modules, but you do need a pretty gentle touch before that.

Modular Mayhem by Dovakla 2019-10-11T19:34:26Z

@n1cc3 thanks! You can eject modules by clicking on them, but it's unfortunately not very clear.

@cdunham thanks! Yeah, steering and staying oriented is very hard. If you get a compass module it points to the big ship though, which helps a bit.

I also wanted to add a magnet module that would pull in other modules, but unfortunately I ran out of time.

Modular Mayhem by Dovakla 2019-10-12T21:45:34Z

Thanks for playing, everyone!

@someone yeah, the physics can get pretty messy. If you click on a module and then press "Y", it'll get ejected, which is not very clear. I didn't have time to make a quit button sorry.

@captaindreamcast Every cargo module gets a random noun for what's inside of it, and a lot of them don't really make sense. Sorry for the confusion!

Race of time by Darkwing00Duck 2019-10-22T21:37:39Z

I like the idea and the risk/reward system of trying to find good parts, but the execution isn't there. I got very confused at first since all parts had the engine icon on them, so I couldn't tell which were which. Then, I couldn't find any trunk parts in the dump so I couldn't get started. When I restarted the game again and managed to build a car, I just fell off the track and got stuck. I also don't like the tank controls. Again, the idea is cool and I liked how snappy the car felt. I think with more time this could be pretty fun.

NSFB: Not Safe For Bugs! by wolfybytes 2019-10-11T17:47:13Z

I couldn't figure out the controls at first. Why did you decide to only allow the player to move on green tiles and only after being attacked? I think it might have been more fun if it played more like a normal strategy game and the player could freely move (maybe capturing the tiles they land on) and attack enemies. It felt like all I should do was move the bugs back and forth and they'd never die. The visuals and audio are great though. Everything looks really cute and charming. Good work!

Slime Slayer by ZachZ 2019-10-27T23:12:02Z

It feels pretty good and I like how the unlocks all change things visually.

I was confused by clicking 10 times at the start. I also was using shift to attack, but this stopped working when I picked up the sword. Not a big deal though.

Good work!

Quest about... Nothing? by NinjaCatz 2019-10-11T17:39:47Z

I really like the cute graphics and music. They work well with the lighthearted story. I wish there was a way to skip through dialogue. It got sort of frustrating to try and get more endings, since I'd have to mash through all the text I'd already read. Good job!

Goblin Keeper by Darkmax14 2019-10-25T16:30:17Z

Really impressive graphics and audio, but I couldn't really figure out the gameplay. How do you give commands to the other goblins? I also couldn't tell what the pumpkin building or fire pit did.

Sluggish Grind by Catusfelony 2019-10-25T17:03:51Z

It's really cute and I like the progression and level design but the movement is so slow. Based on the game description, I assumed that you'd be able to buy speed upgrades too. Still, everything else was great, especially for a jam. Good work!

Girl in a Dungeon by Phoenix Fireflower 2019-10-11T21:10:55Z

This is great! I love the art and the controls are really solid for a jam game.

My only complaint is that I wish the player was a little faster overall, since some of the levels felt too empty.

Really great job!

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ (twenty six blanks) by 888 2019-10-27T20:35:27Z

I got H and A to show up on a path(?) of Gs and I think I figured out how to move the A, but, like everyone else said, it takes like a full second before the screen updates and moves the A a tiny bit.

There's only Dark and you're a Cube (TioDayaaC) by scsc 2019-10-27T22:54:27Z

The lighting effects make it feel pretty unique from other maze games, so good job with that. I sort of wish that there were more batteries or the enemy shots didn't get rid of all of your light, since I ended up just spending most of the game totally in the dark. Good work!

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

The Fast Dating by jk5000 2018-05-06T18:13:39Z

The theme combination is pretty good, but the gameplay is too simple to really be engaging. It has a lot of waiting, which is weird for an endless runner. I think it would help a lot of the two sections were more related, like if the table would also move downwards while you were on a date so you wouldn't just have to build up a lot of distance before dating is possible. I wish dating also went beyond just clicking one of three options as quickly as possible and waiting for the dialogue to finish.

The Fast Dating by jk5000 2018-05-07T15:05:16Z

@jk5000 I understand that but it still doesn't really change how the dates work and I don't think items are frequent enough to make them feel important to the overall game. That's really just a balance issue though, so it's not too bad.

Ascension by Erkberg 2018-05-06T18:32:03Z

It's a pretty good game! I think it would be better if you gave the player a little more space, both to move around in and also to have more time to react to bullets. I think making the camera non-orthogonal would help too, since it was sort of hard to judge where shots would be going and at what angle. I also wish that the different tiers of believers could have been more visually distinct.

Good job!

Rose-Coloured Dungeon Life by Junber 2018-04-28T21:19:28Z

The Windows version crashes every time I attack and when I touch the flamingo statue

Rose-Coloured Dungeon Life by Junber 2018-04-28T23:24:37Z

@Junber I got it to work! I think Avast didn't like it.

I love the monsters and the art is fantastic but combat is pretty frustrating. I only used the paw attack and I didn't see the point to the other two. Even on Waifu Mode I got close to dying since I couldn't figure out how to avoid taking damage.

If you can polish up the combat and keep the writing and graphics, this could be really fun. Good job!

Dinosaur Dating Simulator by akai_0okami 2018-04-28T21:24:13Z

This is really funny! It's a little short, but the turn-based dating attacks were clever and worked really well.

Murder in the Refuge of Retired Monsters by gogo199432 2018-04-25T03:31:45Z

It's a pretty neat idea and I love the surreal aesthetic of the Refuge. The characters are all enjoyable and distinct and the mystery is fun to solve. Unfortunately, I think a lot of the dialogue options didn't correctly unlock or stay locked for me and the Mummy just kept looping his intro dialogue. I also sort of thought that the traps were more of an annoyance than anything that just interrupted the fun part of investigating and talking to everyone.

Grantchester Meadows by Laguna 2018-04-29T00:56:04Z

It started out pretty fun, and the genre mashup works really well. I wish that a few things were more clear, like what each upgrade does, and I also think it could use a little more variety. Once I unlocked the alchemy lab I got the ability to purchase all of its upgrades really quickly but none of them felt like they were having noticeable impacts on the gameplay. Same with the tower upgrades. It also might be better if the player could freely swap between the two sections.

Overall, a pretty good game though! Good job!

Quest for Gold by Mordokay 2018-04-28T22:46:49Z

This is very impressive, well done on setting up all the multiplayer systems during the compo! I needs to be faster, since waiting for all the other players could take a really long time. A power-up system or different movement abilities could also help make it more fun.

Fighter Flight Sim by chunkybrewster 2018-04-27T19:42:39Z

I didn't get what my goal was. How can I tell which passengers should get punched? It seemed like they were all making weird noises. Are you just supposed to punch everyone you can?

I do like how you can jump out of the plane.

Alida of Arx by jsmars 2018-04-28T19:02:40Z

I brought darkness to the academy. Is there a better ending?

This is an incredible amount of work for a game jam game. The visuals are great, and I'm really impressed that you managed to get full voice acting done. I wish it could have been a little less linear, like I don't see why the player can't work on preparing for the dream reading and alchemy trials at the same time. On the whole, this is fantastic!

I am curious, how were you planning on implementing board game elements?

Demon Dash by superpokeunicorn 2018-04-29T22:23:44Z

It's a pretty good execution of the concept. I think it could be a lot faster and the blue enemies can get overwhelming, which makes it hard to get any other colors. It'd be nice if all three types could have that movement pattern. Audio and graphics both work with the feel of the game.

Good job!

Twin Stick Town by patrickgh3 2018-04-29T01:16:23Z

Fantastic game! I got a score of 27 after 14 rounds. This combination of genres worked out really well, and I would love to see a more fleshed-out version with more building and enemy variety if you decide to continue developing it.

Rex McFury: Public Defender by minibobbo 2018-04-29T17:39:58Z

It's really funny! The writing and voice acting is perfect. It could have been a little longer and the fights could have been more complex, but it's really good for a jam game. As a fan of Ace Attorney, I also wish that there were some actual courtroom elements beyond just the setting.

Great game!

Clidger by Mathiouza 2018-04-29T18:31:51Z

Great use of the theme, but it's unfairly hard. The bullets come at you way too fast and it doesn't make sense to kill the player at the bottom of the screen. It also takes a really long time to restart playing with the game over and intro animations that play every time. I like the graphics and audio though.

Zumaster by infinitycore 2018-04-27T20:39:31Z

Perfect use of the theme! I agree that it could be a little more exciting. Maybe make everything faster and increase the force the balls apply?

Sandwich with Pigeon Meat by rodancheg 2018-04-27T21:17:24Z

This is a really fun game! I love the gross pigeon men. All the animations and abilities are fun to use too.

I realized that the turret quickly becomes very overpowered if you just focus on leveling it up, so I think I could have survived indefinitely. It would also be great if the abilities were bound to keys.

Great job!

Speeddating by PiotrMi 2018-04-27T16:48:40Z

This is really funny! The graphics are fantastic for its tone and the gameplay is really polished!

A very minor issue is that one time I had to drive away while they were talking to me, so I didn't get to see their favorite personality trait.

Speeddating by PiotrMi 2018-04-27T18:27:36Z

@Elbcore it wasn't too bad! I guessed the right answer anyway.

Diorama by stefenism 2018-04-29T01:47:30Z

Wow, this is so impressive! I would love to know how you set up the 2D/3D system. It also has a lot of levels for being made in such a short time. Really pretty graphics too.

Great game!

RTHM by fashionbatman 2018-04-29T01:33:48Z

The music is great. The game could be a little more complicated (too bad you ran out of time to make the emoji responses work) but it all felt pretty good. I like how the hearts played notes in time with the song, although I wish that pressing a direction did the same.

Golf with Guns by Issac 2018-04-28T04:05:11Z

This is a great start! I was doing pretty well (I think) up until the multiball waves.

If you decide to add more guns and maps this could become a really good game. I think that losing a ball should just reset it (maybe put it back in its last safe location) instead of resetting the entire wave, since that felt a little too punishing.

Great job!

Brains of Racing by 5you 2018-04-25T19:06:37Z

This is a cool prototype! The aesthetic is great. Making it turn-based made it surprisingly difficult. I bet this would be very fun with kart racer-style items.

It would help if it calculated the speed and rotation more quickly, since it slows down how quickly you can take turns.

Brains of Racing by 5you 2018-04-26T19:11:14Z

@5you The animations of how the speedometer cycles up every time you change it and how it redraws the line slows down how quickly you know what'll happen. Also, I probably should have made it clear that I mean turns of the game and not making the car turn.

Cropshots by DavidPIxel 2018-04-27T03:39:42Z

I scored $6250 on my second try. This is pretty fun! I really like how immediate the risk/reward system is.

I also made a farming sim/shooter, so it's really interesting for me to see all the different takes on it.

Nice job!

My Witch Shop (unfinished) by tinyworlds 2018-04-25T02:11:39Z

Great graphics, and I can definitely see the Vlambeer influence on this. It is unfortunate that you didn't get to finish the shop part, since that sounds like a really interesting system. I also sort of wish that the player moved a little faster and could shoot up and down.

Seaman Sleuth by pudding 2018-04-25T04:12:48Z

It's short, but a great start. The writing and characters are fantastic and the concept is very clever. The metroidvania parts are a little awkward and there were a lot of times where enemies could only be reached at a downward diagonal from me.

Overall though, if it can maintain the mystery throughout the whole game then Metroid Prime 4 will definitely have been worth the wait.

Prom GOblin by Cameron Taylor 2018-05-07T18:57:35Z

Like what everyone else said, the graphics look great but the gameplay is a little confusing. I don't get why kissing toggles people's votes back and forth, since that makes it so that you have to be really cautious and careful with your aim, which isn't really what top-down shooters tend to be about.

Harvest Doom by Fiote 2018-04-26T21:02:40Z

This is really impressive! The graphics are great and it's very polished. I think it might be better if you started the player out with enough souls for one tower, since it is hard to complete a request in time. I also think that adding some kind of automation to it would be really helpful and would keep it from getting repetitive as quickly.

M.obile A.uto D.efense by dcrdro 2018-05-03T21:00:38Z

It was very fun until I flipped the car over. The shooting felt good, and the car could get some nice drifts going. I think it might be more fun with a bigger arena and if the enemies could move through the driving space as well.

Conquer a chef's heart by JanWe 2018-04-27T16:10:19Z

This is pretty fun! I like the idea of switching sides every level, but I feel like the attack parts are too hard. It's hard to judge how far your creeps will get and since you can't freely replenish money (as far as I could tell), if you make any mistake then there's no way to come back from it. It would also help a lot if you could replay the individual stage instead of having to restart the whole game.

Good job overall though!

Joe Chef by Aumbra 2018-04-27T04:33:49Z

Everything about this is perfect.

Dastard's Dungeon by MattDahEpic 2018-04-25T20:11:10Z

This is pretty clever, I only wish it was longer. Is there a way to restart it?

Participating in a Drinking Game While Playing Soccer by ultrarat 2018-04-29T17:31:56Z

It's a pretty good idea, but, like other people have said, the drunkenness doesn't really do much. Adding obstacles and making it harder to control as you get drunk would help a lot. Maybe you could also make it so that you have to stand still while drinking so that the player would have to make a strategic choice about when to drink.

Regular Chess with Sam by FiloGC 2018-05-14T23:06:24Z

i wish it was more complex, since it's a neat concept. I hoped that I would be able to actually make friends and do something with the pieces instead of just having them all disappear. The writing is pretty good, and I wish that each character had more dialogue (but that would take much more time of course). I also liked the sort of creepy surreal void everything was in, although it didn't totally fit the mood.

Good job!

Big Mood by ursagames 2018-05-07T19:18:10Z

Good game! Like others said, the combat is simple and doesn't feel great, but the characters are all fun and have a lot of personality. How do you get the good ending?

Ritoru Ponpon no inu by Steing 2018-04-25T23:43:52Z

It's so cute! It's a great combination of genres too. Unfortunately, as it is it's way too hard for me. I really wish that the player could move much more quickly, both because a lot of the puzzles currently require very precise angles and because it's pretty hard to iterate quickly as it is. It might also be nice if there was an option to restart the pattern so that the player wouldn't have to wait.

Also, a minor bug: the credits page doesn't hide the rest of the main menu

Crystal Library by Goplite 2018-04-25T05:47:17Z

This is a great game! I've never seen a roguelike regenerate the level behind the player, but it works really well for this. The librarian's movement and animation is fantastically creepy. My one issue is that it makes it a little too easy that you can hide behind any bookshelf.

Don't Shoot (Visual Novel / Tac Shooter by tigerrenko 2018-04-26T13:15:27Z

This is a really cool idea. I like the timed choices a lot, since they make it much more intense. However, I think the timer needs to appear more quickly and be more noticeable, since the first time I played I didn't realize what was happening.

Don't forget by Piller Yann 2018-04-29T04:45:24Z

What am I supposed to do? Is there a story I can advance with specific actions or should I just spend time doing stuff?

It takes a really long time for the textboxes to advance, so the first time I felt like the game had frozen. Being able to click through them would help a lot.

It's Not Lupus! by Deozaan 2018-04-24T04:25:16Z

The arcade parts are visually really cool. I wish they had more variety to them, since it seems like you can always win by just firing constantly and not moving. There's definitely a lot of potential here.

Get Out Of My Dungeon by biobazard 2018-04-26T00:02:37Z

This is a fun concept and it feels really smooth to play. It's perfect for a mobile game. I agree that it would be nice if it was easier to judge where shots would go. I'd also like it if there was more of a way to avoid damage, and/or more power-ups. Maybe if you could only take damage if you hadn't gotten any in.

Puttsy by morrilet 2018-04-30T18:41:04Z

This is great! I agree with what everyone else said about the cannon being too powerful on some courses and how it could look more interesting, but this is a really polished game that's a great execution of your concept. You should definitely keep working on it and adding more levels.

Great job!

The Imaginary Room by abductedPlatypus 2018-04-27T02:51:23Z

This is such an incredible concept and I would love to know how you pulled it off, especially in just 72 hours. I think it could have used a little more polishing, since I was unable to get out of the first room. It's also a little too floaty for my taste.

Code T by good.enough 2018-05-11T23:08:32Z

It mostly controls well (although the player seems to get stuck when jumping up through a platform and moving left or right) but the main idea of having to memorize words from a book doesn't seem that fun to me. It isn't really challenging or anything, it just slows the player down.

Dungeon of High School romance by Toulou 2018-04-27T19:05:22Z

This is really cute! It's a fun RPG too. The pacing of it was perfect; it felt like I was always just barely making it to the next item or the exit. The ASCII art also really fit the feel of it. Great job!

Groove Chase by Matt Pattabhi 2018-04-29T02:25:58Z

It's so hard! I think you should have made it so that the arrows are arranged as they are on the keyboard. I also wish that there was a little more integration with the racing element, since as it is it's basically just a meter showing how well the player is doing.

Checkmate by aevek 2018-04-27T18:00:30Z

This is pretty fun! I made it up to king but was then quickly overwhelmed.

It's a great progression system that uses the theme perfectly. I think it might be cool if it was even stricter about following the chessboard, like requiring attacks to be at 90-degree angles, but that could also easily be less fun. Great work!

Underground by Solrun 2018-04-26T22:51:25Z

This is a pretty fun prototype, even on keyboard. I think it would be nice if you'd been able to expand the procedural generation to make more elaborate dungeons and more open space to build up speed.

MULLIGUN by those-30-ninjas 2018-04-25T02:28:47Z

This is fantastic! Collisions felt a little wonky at times but it's a great idea that was executed nearly perfectly.

TURBOSTUNTS by GerardB 2018-04-30T16:59:06Z

It's really fun! The stuff you did to the car physics is great, like how it locks to the platform beneath it. I'd love to see more levels added post-jam.

Great job!

Roll Playing Game by Smiling Cat Entertainment 2018-04-30T00:59:08Z

Great name and good concept. It's really impressive how much you managed to do in 48 hours, but it could still use a lot of polish. The combat system is really confusing and I can't tell how to use items or abilities properly. Do you get gold bars from capturing money identimon or just from finding them in the world?

Still, good work!

LD41 Game Placeholder by Spetsdod 2018-04-26T13:09:58Z

Bloodew Valley by sohakes 2018-04-25T16:51:51Z

Yeah, the main idea is a lot like my game, but the execution is still pretty different! I like how you can create your own farming plots. I originally intended to put tilling in mine but I ran out of time. I also like that it requires you to have enough money every day so that you're forced to take a risk, especially at the beginning. I did reach a point where I didn't need to plant any more crops, though.

Well done!

Also the ending shot was beautiful.

Bloodew Valley by sohakes 2018-04-26T19:36:03Z

@sohakes as far as I could tell everything worked perfectly. I didn't notice any bugs.

Talk Block Chronicles by Yokimbo 2018-04-26T23:02:10Z

The UI and music fit perfectly. I only wish it could have been a little more fleshed out. Glad you made it through the jam though!

Iocus Navis by Ranzor 2018-04-26T21:53:37Z

This is a clever idea. It sort of reminded me of Out There, although the gameplay was of course totally different. This could of benefited from a little more polish, such as making the camera always track the ship like others have suggested. A card that points you in the direction of earth would probably be useful and would make it less luck-based.

Cardcade by Simon Rahnasto 2018-04-28T03:48:13Z

This is great! I've seen a few other card games in this LD but yours is the first where you actually throw the cards as weapons, and it works really well. It's very impressive how many different cards you managed to get into it.

My one complaint is that it almost gives you too many cards. The player starts out with so many and then you get more so quickly that it's hard to actually try them all out.

FarmPunch by F14K-3R 2018-04-27T23:02:56Z

It was a little confusing, but I like it. I wish there was more gameplay to the parts before the fight.

She Against The World by Snowy 2018-04-28T03:24:00Z

I don't really get the point of this. It's very slow, especially with how much time is wasted looking at the enemies not moving, and it doesn't seem like there's any way to avoid damage if the necromancer randomly decides to shoot you.

It also froze every time a bomb spider exploded and the game over menu didn't work at all.

I do like the idea of a turn-based/story-driven platformer though.

Golf Slayer by sanjeev 2018-04-25T20:18:46Z

This is an impressive battle system. It was all very intuitive and satisfying to play. Balance-wise, I think that it could be a little easier to hit the markers for defending, and it probably should be harder to heal.

Great job!

ACCIDENTAL EXISTENTIAL by slovnoslomo 2018-04-26T21:08:26Z

This is so great! The audio design works perfectly with the aesthetic of everything else going on and the different genre combinations are great. Amazing work, especially for a jam!

Scarry by Memel06 2018-04-29T01:25:46Z

This is really cool! It's really unique that you have to shout in order to boost, but it doesn't feel bad (although I turned the sensitivity all the way up). The graphics are fantastic, especially the design of the evil car. I wish that the sound design had been a little more advanced, like if the cars actually made car noises and if the big skull car sounded spooky. I would also like it if there was some indicator of where the cookies are, although I understand that that's not the point of this genre of horror games.

Amazing work!

Blocks'N'Blaster by HPMNK 2018-04-27T23:50:48Z

This is great! It feels really smooth to play and everything seems to be working perfectly. It's an excellent use of the theme.

I think the block spawn could be improved, since I started out by getting 3 s-blocks in a row. That's something that would probably take a lot more work though, and it's still fine as is.

Overall, great job!

Honest Dan's Trout by Honest Dan 2018-04-29T17:25:06Z

This is great! Definitely the best Tetris mashup I've seen. It's really hard, but it all works so perfectly. Great aesthetic and sound design too.

Amazing work!

Simulator for average people by Dorkus64 2018-04-27T04:02:39Z

This is overall a very unsettling experience. The music and sort of gross creepy animations work really well together. It does seem to get unbeatable at the end though. Does money do anything?

Keyboard Explorer by Ryvencore 2018-04-24T03:47:47Z

Clever idea, and the art is beautiful! The timing between different obstacles felt perfect. I would recommend doing something to show when the buttons were pressed, since I thought the game was broken at the first button on level 3.

Run Away the Simulation by CapitanRetraso 2018-04-27T20:52:47Z

It seems like a good platformer with a great aesthetic, but the clicking only makes it artificially frustrating. If you want to do something like that, I think it should be actually integrated into the gameplay. Good thinking adding the G button cheat.

Dirty Pink by Carpin 2018-04-26T21:38:46Z

Everything about this game looks so cool! It's also a pretty simple and fun arcade experience. At times, though, I felt like it could be too punishing, especially with how long you have to wait after missing the timing on the ice cream dispenser. It also got sort of annoying how irregularly the cars moved and how hard they were to hit.

Overall, though, this is really polished and looks great, especially for a jam! Great job!

Valdur by dannyboy 2018-04-25T05:01:55Z

That's a surprisingly relaxing game. All the sound effects and animations are funny but also very soothing somehow.

A couple of bugs: at a certain point it wouldn't let me shoot, but it worked again later on. I'm not sure why. The cursor also came unlocked but still invisible, so I accidentally clicked out of the window a few times.

Wheels On Feels by mambojambo 2018-05-11T23:22:12Z

This is pretty fun! The car movement could have used a lot more polish, but the fundamental idea works really well and the level design is pretty clever. Checkpoints would have helped a lot, or at least the ability to skip the dialogue at the beginning. I think it would have also worked a little better if time didn't just stop or start but instead smoothly sped up and down.

Great job!

Sneak To The Rhythm by BlakeMcDeezy 2018-04-27T16:29:39Z

This is really clever. It got a little frustrating a couple of times, but the puzzles never felt unfair or too difficult. I think it could also use a progression system where you get songs that let you move more steps at a time, although going down to two instead of three didn't feel too bad since the puzzles were still good.

I also love how it ends. Good job!

Welcome to Snake Academy! by Sintel 2018-05-01T02:39:21Z

This is really cute! All the snake portraits and dialogue are great and the game is really fun. I do wish that something would happen once a snake rejected you, since I was confused by how they keep asking the same questions then. A few of the questions were also a little too random, like what her favorite band is. The only way to solve that is trial-and-error.

Great game!

NecroGolfer's Tomb by CosmicCrystalGames 2018-04-25T04:44:27Z

I beat it with a score of -8. Great graphics, like the others have said. I wish that there was more combat like the boss in the earlier stages, since they got a little repetitive, but that's part of a jam and there's definitely a lot of potential if you want to expend it. I also think it could have used mouse aiming.

BoomBall by shrinjoy_fox 2018-04-29T20:34:29Z

It's a good concept and it's pretty fun but it could be improved. The player should have the option to adjust the sensitivity and i think the explosions should do more. It didn't really feel like I was helping out or had any control over the ball. Power-ups or obstacles on the field would also make it more exciting.

Not bad for a first jam!

Double Trouble by MaxKlimenok 2018-04-28T23:28:01Z

Fun game! All the effects of deflecting items are really nice and satisfying. I wish that after learning the recipe you could only get the required ingredients, since I often had to just wait for a while until the specific things I needed would spawn.

🌽🍅Farmed and Dangerous🐺🧔 by Dan Davis 2018-04-25T03:55:41Z

I made a sort of similar farming/twin-stick shooter and it's fun to see other peoples' take on that genre.

I really like the risk/reward system that you mention where planting more crops will make the night much harder, so that could be a lot of fun once it's implemented. All the plant sprites are also very good.

Overall, I think there's potential here, but I can't tell how much of it is currently working. It seems like the crops you plant during the day don't really impact what happens at nighttime? I'm also concerned that the combat won't work out once the enemies can hurt you, since the only way to attack them seems to be standing still right next to them.

Love & Gore by Malarkey 2018-04-29T02:45:39Z

The look and sound if it is great! I only got two hearts though. Is it possible to get all five? The music is fantastic, especially the romantic song.

I wish there was a way to kill the small enemies without getting hurt by them.

Great game!

Overwhelming by Ziovoxxer 2018-04-29T02:58:43Z

This is a lot like one my old games, but way more polished! It's a pretty decent time waster, although it gets repetitive after a couple of levels. The font you chose is a little weird, since it looks like it belongs in a horror game.

It'd be cool if it had different cubes with different effects and maybe some powerups.

Space Captain Rodriguez by CalebLewis 2018-04-24T04:00:04Z

I think the concept of this is interesting and mechanically it felt very good, but I had a hard time figuring out what I was supposed to do and what all the symbols meant. Menu navigation was also pretty weird. That said, I did like the graphical style a lot. I'm not good enough to get to any of the actual dates.

Good Night, Good Morning by Lachezar Hubanov 2018-04-25T05:08:52Z

I love the atmosphere of it. I didn't really get what the point was, though, but it all worked well and it was pretty clear what my objectives were. The car part was probably a little too long.

Eilza by Cosdots_HM 2018-04-27T16:38:48Z

Wow. This is the first jam game I've seen that's actually made me feel connected to the character. It's really impressive that you pulled off something meaningful like this over a weekend.

As everyone else has said, the contrast of the nice music, bright colors, and elementary school kids compared to the insults and animations worked incredibly well.

Shoot the Notes by minirop 2018-04-29T02:01:05Z

Sorry that you only got 6 hours. There's an interesting concept here, but it really needs a lot more work.

Another idea would be to make you click twice on enemies when they have a double note.

Modern Fairway 4: Spec-Ops in the Rough by Lost Dutchman Software 2018-04-27T22:19:17Z

Great game! It could benefit from a little more polish, but it's already pretty fun to shoot balls into the big hole. The music is an excellent choice.

I wish the player was faster (you don't need to limit sprint if it's just a golf game) and the ball does need more friction. It'd also be good if the player could shoot the ball upwards more.

Unfortunately the mouse doesn't get unlocked in the menus and I couldn't figure out how to play the desert hole.

RoadRover by Bisher.d790 2018-05-11T22:58:11Z

It's a good start and driving feels pretty good. I agree with what other people said about the very shallow DoF.

In one playthrough I got stuck in a ditch and couldn't move at all.

Typewriter Dungeon by Jaime Paz Lopes 2018-04-27T18:43:42Z

It's a good start, and I love the choice of words that write out sentences. I think it would benefit a lot from more variety (adding monsters or puzzles?) and making it faster. It's a little boring to keep having to type just to make the character walk down a straight hallway.

KEYBOARD WARRIOR by croewens 2018-04-26T21:29:49Z

I love the GUI you made for this. Unfortunately I think it needs a lot more content and challenge. Just making the enemies move towards the player would make it much more intense.

I got over 400 points.

Fatty Boy Run by lyha 2018-04-26T21:17:59Z

What a weird combination of things. It works well though, and the game is surprisingly fun. What inspired it?

I think it would be nice if you could also match diagonals, since that would give you a lot more freedom in which apples to pick up.

Shoot bullets in my head while I play golf by FabianLC 2018-04-25T05:31:02Z

Wow, that's not what I was expecting at all! So there is a boss that it's possible to reach?

I agree that the player should move faster and that there could probably be fewer bullets or enemies spawning, but everything about the game seems to work perfectly.

Good Boy vs The Bad Boys by ludomyth 2018-04-26T22:26:47Z

I lasted 4:41. The graphics match the tone of the game perfectly (especially the excellent cartridge cards) and I think the concept is solid. Unfortunately I feel like the cards are too clunky for it to really work as it is. There's a lot of delay before the robot takes the actions and it's really hard to hit any enemies with most of the weapons. Only being to turn at 90-degree angles is also pretty limiting.

It also didn't seem like red rockets did anything at all?

Good Boy vs The Bad Boys by ludomyth 2018-04-28T03:28:14Z

@Axe I just downloaded the Windows version from Itch and the red rocket cartridge still doesn't do anything.

City Surgeon by Bitoddgames 2018-04-27T18:10:36Z

This is pretty fun. It's short and sweet and very unique. Swinging the crane around feels satisfying, even though it's intentionally difficult.

I think it would probably help a lot if the player could rotate the camera around the city. I think it also should probably use a perspective projection, since making it orthographic makes it very hard to judge distances.

Good job!

Dangerous Fields by Gavin Camlin 2018-04-25T05:58:47Z

Great game! I also made a farming sim/twin-stick shooter, so it's fun to see other takes on that genre.

I like the risk/reward aspect of buying the enemies for the next day. Everything about the gameplay feels very punchy and fun. Like a few other people said, I do wish that you could buy watering can upgrades, since as far as I can tell there's not really a benefit to getting more money besides raising your score.

Good work for your first LD!

War Maker by David Boeger 2018-04-26T22:12:48Z

WarMaker.PNG

Does this mean I beat you?

It's surprisingly fun for something so simple. It's too bad you had to struggle so much with bugs, since the turret feature sounds cool.

I, Love, Robot by Nash 2018-04-27T21:25:15Z

This is a great concept for a game! All aspects of its presentation work really well together.

As other people have said, it is confusing that the robots can hate the messages they send out. Another fix for that could be to make it so the player can see how the robots feel about the messages they're sending.

Also, using 3D audio for the gun shot sound effect was a really cool decision.

Farmer's Delight: A Twin-Stalk Shooter by Dovakla 2018-04-24T05:12:13Z

@AffinityChris there's a shop in the forest to the left! Also it seems like I accidentally left the debug mode on when I built it. The correct version is on Itch now.

Farmer's Delight: A Twin-Stalk Shooter by Dovakla 2018-04-24T05:25:34Z

@AffinityChris make sure you've got the new build otherwise money will still be pretty pointless

Farmer's Delight: A Twin-Stalk Shooter by Dovakla 2018-04-25T00:29:45Z

@keravcin thanks for the feedback! The shopkeep is the only known self-portrait of the artist. Plants drink water from the dirt as they grow and if the dirt dries out they'll start to die. Higher-tier plants drink more than lower-tier ones.

Farmer's Delight: A Twin-Stalk Shooter by Dovakla 2018-04-25T06:10:17Z

@CalebLewis Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I'm not completely satisfied with those systems either. I made the drop system for enemy drops first and it didn't translate great to harvesting.

@Solrun Thanks! I wish I could have implemented an indicator to show when crops are ready because you do just have to learn it through trial and error, which isn't great. Enemies are also guaranteed to drop their crops which you can sell to buy seeds, so it should be very difficult to end up in a place where you have no money and no seeds.

Farmer's Delight: A Twin-Stalk Shooter by Dovakla 2018-04-25T06:10:35Z

@Yokimbo Glad you liked it!

Farmer's Delight: A Twin-Stalk Shooter by Dovakla 2018-04-25T16:29:39Z

@sohakes @Cole and Jordan Studios @David Boeger @ThatSommeS Thanks for the comments! I'm glad you all enjoyed it!

@sohakes The music and sound effects both completely stopped? Do you know when it happened? The dirt tiles can dry out after plants have grown on them for a while. Higher-tier plants need more water. I like your idea of making it calm down enemies though. You can choose different seeds in the planting menu (tool #2) and they grow different plants.

@david-boeger The menu was actually the last thing I implemented (which is why it's so janky), but I totally agree with you. It's such a basic thing to do.

@ThatSommeS You can pick plants when they're at the final stage of growth by using tool #1 while standing near them. I would have liked to add a visual indicator to show when they're ready, since you do sort of have to learn through trial and error now.

Farmer's Delight: A Twin-Stalk Shooter by Dovakla 2018-04-26T19:39:30Z

@let-off-studios @Axe @warzoku @biobazard @Mordokay @MaxKlimenok @LesConneriesDeRed thanks for playing, everyone!

Farmer's Delight: A Twin-Stalk Shooter by Dovakla 2018-04-27T06:23:43Z

@Articulated9 it should have music and sfx. Was it completely silent for you?

@Matt Pattabhi thanks! It wasn't, but I can see the similarities

Farmer's Delight: A Twin-Stalk Shooter by Dovakla 2018-04-27T17:56:33Z

@Blinkenlights I meant to do do that yesterday, sorry. There's a Linux build up now.

Farmer's Delight: A Twin-Stalk Shooter by Dovakla 2018-04-28T17:11:36Z

@johnnydalvi @abductedPlatypus I totally forgot about the diagonals. Yeah, I did not really budget any time to polish things and instead kept adding new content basically right up until the deadline. I need to be careful about that next time.

@Piller Yann it should have music and sound effects. Was it completely silent the whole time?

Farmer's Delight: A Twin-Stalk Shooter by Dovakla 2018-04-29T15:33:50Z

@Toulou Thanks for the feedback! Are you sure they were seeds and not grown crops? Did seeds work later?

The forgotten jacket by CodeKoto 2018-04-30T00:05:43Z

This is an interesting concept. I like all the dialogue and character designs a lot! I wish there was more to do beyond just walking back and forth waiting for encounters. Making it so that there's a goal you have to reach towards the right would make it more engaging.

Good job!

Birbo the Game! by yeoldecoot 2018-04-25T22:19:34Z

I won with a score of 119. I loved seeing the final boss crest over the top of the mountain, which was legitimately really surprising.

I think this could be pretty good with a few changes. I couldn't tell what any of the towers besides the artillery one did or whether they were working. It seemed like the artillery also had a hard time hitting a lot of the smaller birbos.

Also, you might want to check the normals on the artillery shell and land plot models.

Birbo the Game! by yeoldecoot 2018-04-26T01:57:37Z

@yeoldecoot thanks for explaining it! Where does the unit spawn button appear?

It looks like the normals on the dirt part of the model just got flipped? Everything else looks right.

rhythm fps : CQBeATS by Ramalammy 2018-04-29T01:52:59Z

Cool idea. I bet it would be really great if you could find a way to implement enemies. It took me a bit to figure out what the colors meant and when I what I was supposed to shoot, but I did... passably by the end. You should also see if you can get a scoring system at the end.

Supreme Racing by Inusun 2018-05-14T18:55:29Z

You can win by just typing "go fast" repeatedly. It's a good idea, but the game is much too fast and the course is too small for turning to really be possible at all.

Date Night by Darby Costello 2018-04-29T18:17:46Z

This is great! The visuals and music are fantastic and fit the tone of the game so well! All the self-aware jokes are great.

One complaint is that I wish it was harder to survive. I ran around for a while trying all combinations since I figured that there had to be a way to stop her.

Amazing work!

Intergalactic Goblin Ramming Speed! by IndieLucky 2018-04-29T17:18:57Z

This is really well-done! It's very impressive how much stuff you managed to get into it. I wish that there could have been some sound, and adding some kind of power-ups or different attacks would have also made it more fun. Great job!

Don’t die, my darling by ragalios 2018-04-24T04:16:05Z

This is great! The look of it is really unique and it's pretty fun to play. I think it should reward you more somehow for saving more ghosts, since it seems like it's easiest to just focus on one and let all the others die.

Bubblin' Cauldron by Tamino Laub 2018-04-29T17:45:59Z

I like how you have to figure out what all the potions do and the music and graphics are pretty good. It feels a little awkward to play though. It's difficult to pick up ingredients and potions and the player moves a little too slowly for how much area they need to cover.

Rogue Ball by ctran13 2018-04-27T04:53:01Z

It's pretty hard to control, but the idea is neat. I don't know how you could make it any easier, unfortunately, unless you had something like Rocket League where the camera rotates so the ball is always forward. Smacking it into the other players was pretty fun though.

TimeStaar [Turn Based Bullet Hell] by NullCode 2018-05-15T18:32:58Z

This is really good! I've played a couple other turn-based shooters like this but none of them have felt as good. Great music and graphics too.

I don't know if this is intentional, but my strategy was to get as close to the enemies as possible so that my spawned shot would destroy them before their turn.

Escape from... something by Oxygenium 2018-04-27T23:30:31Z

I think this is a pretty good start, although I wish it could be faster.

Also, does the AI cheat? I feel like it would chase me (after I'd aggroed it) even when I was outside of the circle.

Not bad for your first LD!

Cat Pack by Potondo 2018-04-27T22:45:53Z

It's very hard. I wish the player could move faster, and, like other people have said, it would be helpful if the cat selection and actions were bound to keys. I like the design of the player character and all the enemies at lot though!

Don't Pet The Alien! by JohnnyR 2018-04-26T16:26:20Z

I love this idea. The juxtaposition between the creepy music and cute pets is great, and I bet it'll be even better once you update it. What was your plan for identifying the alien?

Scarecrow (Farming + FPS Horde Mode) by keravcin 2018-04-25T03:45:49Z

Fun to see someone else's take on a farming shooter! I think this is a promising start to something, and I really like how all of the farming forces you to look down and put your gun away so zombies can sneak up on you. I agree that it's probably a little too hard currently and it might be nice to start the player out with a few seeds so they can start farming even in the first rounds.

Spike-Stricken Love by bigda 2018-04-25T22:36:41Z

Is it possible to win or advance the dialogue at all?

I think that the good spikes should stay on screen a little longer, because it's often completely impossible to get them.

Kart Royale by Dan Matthews 2018-04-29T17:58:50Z

Great genre combo! I wish the track was a little less slippery or at least gave you a little more room to move around, since I spent a lot of time being shoved around by everyone else. It's very hard, but fun.

Good job!

The Third Scattering by mbrezu 2018-04-26T19:41:01Z

This is a great twist on match-3s! It's perfect for mobile. There's just the right amount of complexity so that it's really easy to pick up but you still have to think about each move.

Can I ask why it's called "The Third Scattering?"

Kaiju City Rehab - Rampage City Builder by Bad Idea 2018-04-26T13:27:35Z

This game feels fantastic! Really impressive destruction physics.

I wish that I had more control over what I was destroying and what would be built. It was too easy to accidentally start a chain reaction with all the flying debris, and no matter how much I destroyed the oil refinery it would always come back.

Spooky Speeding by TheSquishyFish 2018-05-11T23:00:05Z

When you build a Unity project it also makes a UnityPlayer.dll file and a Data folder. You need to zip those together with the .exe and upload the whole thing.

Monstrously Hunky by CraigFortune 2018-04-30T17:56:56Z

I love all the descriptions. I wish there was more to it, but I understand that you ran out of time. Adding some sort of epilogue afterwards would also be nice.

Shmlashing Shplanets by let-off-studios 2018-04-27T20:16:35Z

It's a nice, simple little puzzle game. It took me a bit to get the controls and goal, but I was able to clear it on my second try. Not bad for your first LD!

It makes a horrible sound when it starts; is that intentional?

Shmlashing Shplanets by let-off-studios 2018-04-27T22:20:19Z

@let-off-studios that is an admirable mindset

Cyberkuza Syndicate by trashgames 2018-04-25T05:22:52Z

It's an interesting concept but I'm not entirely sure how it works. You can only be potentially betrayed or traded with by the trader you talk to, right? It seems easy to raise reputation with one faction as much as possible until you can buy the laser rifle. Do weapon ties always go to the player?
