You threw your google drive folder in the trash?
Heya. No I had to replace it with a zip file. Available to download now 😀
Love the humour, theme and CGA look!
I really like the monochrome shading! The genre combination is also very unique and fun! I wish there was a way to skip through cutscenes or advance them faster after you die! Very smooth, fun and enjoyable gameplay!
I thought it would be confusing with that aesthetic to play, but is not. Great job!
Very nice game! I had a lot of fun figuring what was needed to pass the game :) I hope there is only one date because I couldn't figure out how to pass the first one without dying. The look and feel and music is amazing, and also all the flavortexts and dialogue made me laugh out loud! :D The only thing I missed was dialog skipping so replaying was less tiresome. Very good game!!
For a game jam, amazing work on anims and visuals. Gameplay wise i felt like i don't know what to do really.
Haha. Hint: The date needs to be a success for **her**, not you!
@Darby Costello Were there any more dates or just the one with Alice?
@bobismijnnaam Just the one. I originally envisioned four dates, but gradually realised that would be like writing four games!
Wooo! What an amazing game! Really fun, full of humor and with nice graphics.
@Darby Costello Aw too bad, but understandable given the 72h time limit.
The mood and graphics are outstanding, really really liked this game. This is my kind of humour haha :D
Funny and Good looking piece of art. GG Man
Very fun game, really humorous. Simple but gorgeous aesthetic. I spent a lot of time trying to block my date in another part of the house with the printers and chaits until I found it was impossible and the only way to finish the game was dying. Where you planning on using that for a winnable state purpose?
Good work!
@le-slo Thanks for the great feedback! I was thinking you would need to block certain exits in order to steer Alice into the bedroom (so you can get the disco music plus disco lights dance routine). But after building in those features, I couldn't find a way to engineer that scenario, as her pathfinding was too damn good. So I left them in as red herrings.
A complete piece of art. Feel free to drop a review at our game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/boomball
Nice work! A top tier game all round!
I like the unique graphics you made ! Nice animations and musics too. But I don't think it's really horror, more like survival maybe ? Loved the humor with the interactions in the rooms ;)
Thanks @alineo. For some of us, dating is a horror story in and of itself!
Game looks good great! nice job
Very impressed - graphics took me straight back to the spectrum! I spent ages retrying the first date trying to let it be successful without dying so I could try one of the other girls before coming back to this page and realising there is only the one and i was doing it right already XD Please more! ;)
Ha, very well done and really funny! Really humorous dialogues and Trey's snarky comments. Graphics are amazing and i like how every room is in different colour, also animations are pretty neat. I did all the things on her list: long walks, disco dancing and... grabbing a bite which resulted in successful date, but is there a way for Trey to come out alive from that date? In overall really great game, great job!
@zeriver Many thanks for the feedback and well done on completing the game. I'm afraid not, the date is meant to be successful for **Alice**, not Trey. I flipped it on its head because, let's face it, Trey's a bit of an A-Hole!
Great game, awesome graphics and nice dialogues. Nice work!
I wasn't expecting that, well done
Very well done and polished. Loved the style and the humour of the game, would definitely love to play with more dates if you get to make more of them! Keep up the good work!
Haha this was absolutely hilarious! I loved the meta commentary and the artstyle/animation is phenomenal! :scream: Have you a got a twitter?
Hi @yinting-he. Thanks for the great feedback. My Twitter is @DarbyCostello
I love the art style of this, reminds me of Knightlore on the ZX Spectrum. Well done!
I laughed a lot! The aesthetics are awesome, love the music and the humor. one of the best games by far!
@helpcomputer Boom. That was the exact game that inspired Date Night. Thank you for picking up on that.
Effective visuals, am I right to say you make / use 3d models and then use a shader to get that style? I quite liked the idea, the run animation (spoiler) when she starts chasing you made laugh! Didn't succeed on my date, but I think if I gave it another go I'd know what to try differently. One or two tiny bits went too fast to read (when walking from lobby to kitchen I think). enjoyed playing!
Shaders are awesome, and the humor, and game, and everything! I love it
It's a pity there's no Linux version :(
I freaking love it! WOAAOAOAOAW!!! Just incredible, really... cool af. For now you are my favourite :D
Hell yeah! Date successful! The visuals were awesome, music was cool, humour was on point, and the gameplay was clever. Hilariously fun time!
Not my kind of game but I can feel the work put into it. But GOSH those graphics are just so awesome dude. Really nice style you got there.
Art and gameplay are bizzare :D nice job!
horror dating game ?!, i don't think I've heart of one before really nice theme a,d cool game i like it, feel free to check out our game we hope you will like it https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/incompatible-rally
This is a great game, we all gathered around @Lars-Olav-Otten when he was playing it and went to go play it ourselves shortly after.
While this isn't necessarily the type of game that I would normally play myself, I can definitely see this being a fun game for those that do play these types of games! The game is oozing with humor and the graphics are absolutely stellar, what an amazing style! The different rooms really work well, making you having to map a layout in your head for where everything is so you can find the proper room.
I have to admit though that I kind of would've loved to see Trey being able to escape from the batshit crazy woman Trey for some reason ended up with. I would also very much like to see other dates and a randomized room layout.
I have to also admit that I wasn't really sure what the purpose of blocking off an exit in a room was for, could you maybe explain it to me?
Other than that, very cool, with a lot of potential! Explore it further if you have the chance!
Hi @densin, thanks for the thorough feedback.
I decided in the end to leave Trey to his fate, as a means of providing my commentary on the dating sim genre. Of course in doing so, the 'survival' aspect of Survival Horror was made somewhat redundant. The date thus becomes a success for **Alice**, not necessarily for Trey.
I take all of your points about the escape mechanics. I originally envisioned a procedural layout as you suggested, with lots of little mechanisms for blocking and allowing access. After scoping it down though (tick-tock!), these features were pulled. So I left those door-blocking mechanisms in as... red herrings? Not a puzzle device that I'm fond of, to be sure, but I just thought what the hell and left them in. Thanks again for playing, I may develop this further.
@Darby Costello I see, yes that does make sense, jams are brutal when it comes to scope! Thank you for explaining and be sure to do develop it further if you do have the time and want to spend the effort on it, it really does have further potential.
Super entry! Really enjoyed this, looks and sounds great, awesome writing. Well done!
Excellent work! I loved the art and animations - it shows you are very talented.
This was so great, ESPECIALLY the graphic style. Fantastic idea and really fun implementation! Awesome submission!
Great music, great style, great idea!! Congrats on a really good job! You should absolutely keep working on it ;)
I just loved everything, best entry I've played so far! You should keep developing it!
@pyrodaes Thanks for the great feedback.
Good job! Cool game!
I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.

This isn't the kind of game that I'd normally enjoy playing. However I had a pretty great time with this game.
Wow, why is the woman trying to eat me? I started laughing so hard after she said she was gonna eat me, and I ran around and around and around.
Awesome aesthetic and music. 5/5 for everything. Keep developing it!! This is great work!!
I'm a great fan of point 'n click games, so it's easy to me to like your game. But you game is more than that, I loved the dark humor in your game also your art style are great. Good job!
This is amazing! I was really impressed on how smooth everything looked and felt in this game. I really enjoyed the writing and fresh take on a point and click adventure. The monochrome color scheme also added a few points in your favor as well. Wonderful work!
This one was a lot of fun! Nice job!
super fun and creative! enjoyed it a lot! got nothing to complain about. Very smooth and enjoyable
Outstanding graphics
Perfect for those that like witty self-awareness.

So, a friend of mine told me to review this game instead of him because he didn't want to try a horror game. Now that I've gone through it, we're laughing. It's visually stunning and the dialogue is very funny. A bit odd on the mechanics, but it's certainly a thrill, and very memorable.
The game is short but fun, and certainly worth checking out. I have one problem though: When on the menus to select the music during the chase scene, I instinctively pressed Esc to close the menu, only to lose all my progress by going back to the main menu (and while we're at it, I started the game and it glitched, having the camera in front of the player like on the walking cutscene. It looked incredible, but clearly it wasn't intended).
All in all, excellent work. [My team](twitter.com/whalesandgames) found it very inspiring. Keep up the good work!
Dude, the mood and graphics are a blast! I enjoyed that a lot. Didn't expect the humor, it made me really smile. Gameplay was a bit chaotic for me, as I struggled to find out what was I supposed to do. I see potential.
Good job! Very nice game.
This is freakin' fantastic! The art style is so awesome and well executed, the music is great and the humor is hilarious. I laughed more than a few times and I love it when games surprise me, which you certainly did. Nothing to complain about, just an all around awesome game!
This is great! The visuals and music are fantastic and fit the tone of the game so well! All the self-aware jokes are great.
One complaint is that I wish it was harder to survive. I ran around for a while trying all combinations since I figured that there had to be a way to stop her.
Amazing work!
Love the style - the visuals and the soundtrack work together very well. Good writing too, I dig the self-referential humor.
As for gameplay... I spent a few minutes trying to trap Alice with obstacles until she literally got stuck under a pile of office chairs. Came here to learn all of those were red herrings. So here I am now, kinda tempted to go back and die anyway for a proper ending. 😅
Alice rates the date 2/3, but the game is a solid 5/5 stars in my book. Great work!
Date successful! xD Good job on graphics and style, ofc it doesn't really look like old graphics but the limited palette is relaxing for eyes. Humor behind the concept is top-notch. I'd like to see what horrors those unavailable girls would bring. Not every written line was funny but I guess lines take time to polish like anything else. Amazing work considering you were solo. Oh, and I like how the main character runs like a girl.
Cool game! I was able to stuck her in the chairs, it is all about timing! After that I could think in how to satisfy her, if you what I mean :)
Could you rate my game too? https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/not-yeti Thank you!
I really liked the art style, and general aesthetic. The attention to detail with the witty descriptions of each of the pieces of furniture, as well as the many different available tracks was incredible. The puzzles were also really cool, at least the disco puzzle. The way they required you to be paying attention to every detail in the environment and constantly thinking outside the box reminded me more of adventure games than survival horror. The whole thing actually was very adventure game esque, but hey, who says that's a bad thing :) Well done!
Really cool art style. Also loved the "Whoever created these clearly ran out of time during a game jam" line. I screen shot it and everything only to see someone beat me to it.
