LD28 — You Only Get One

ONE - Obscured Nonphysical Expanse by ChronusZ 2013-12-18T00:53:00

Also doesn't run for me - chrome/mac.

Lost Robots by stromchin 2013-12-18T14:57:00

Very fun for something without much going on, feels and looks really nice!

The Follower by Christina Antoinette Neofotistou 2013-12-18T01:51:00

Graphics are really nice, but didn't really get what to do beyond eating and praying.

One Door by godan 2013-12-18T14:44:00

Looks cool but a real performance hog. Also some GUI problems - the text seems to cut off about 2/3 across the screen.

You Only Get To Save One by PEBKAC 2013-12-18T14:05:00

Controls make it fairly frustrating, unfortunately.

A Trip To The Moon by Dayko 2013-12-17T09:10:00

Very nice. Some gates are virtually impossible to hit though!

Destructoblast by Doctor Broccoli 2013-12-19T00:13:00

Very fun, love the graphics. Camera is a bit frustrating (would strongly prefer static or at least one that only rotates on command) and I'm not sure the destruction of the arena adds anything to the gameplay other than annoyance since it's only a minor inconvenience. But overall great!

My First Day at the Snowman Kit Factory! by Loren 2013-12-16T13:08:00

Would need more to break monotony after a while, but a nice concept.

Round toe by Thecoolestnerdguys 2013-12-18T14:07:00

Interesting idea, but as others said clicking one player places your first circle. So you've not got many options!

Leap of Faith by Ysty 2013-12-18T01:01:00

Atmosphere is nicely ominous, but not convinced about it "fixing" first person platforming.

Pizza Delivery Hero by Recursiveanomaly 2013-12-18T14:10:00

Collision detection is a little finicky, but in general well executed.

Aquila by Anshul Goyal 2013-12-18T00:43:00

Didn't quite get what was going on, but finished it. Shooting mechanic wasn't particularly satisfying, but overall it was solid.

Stellar Delusion - LD28 - You Only Get One Planet! by wulfdesign 2013-12-18T00:29:00

Cool physics, an enjoyable sandbox.

RetroBall by timothyolt 2013-12-19T03:14:00

Neat idea, but needs more polish.

Byte's Socks by drkrunk 2013-12-17T11:31:00

Couldn't launch it on OSX 10.6.

Tether by orbitantlers 2013-12-16T11:41:00

Really nice aesthetic, sound, music and atmosphere. The concept is great, although I couldn't quite get to grips with the controls.

Bort That Dammed Viking by Nezzhil 2013-12-17T11:07:00

Graphics are nice but combat mechanics are a little unsatisfying.

Stabby game by Woftles 2013-12-19T01:05:00

Graphics and atmosphere are amazing, love the lighting! Very tricky though, and fairly punishing given you have to restart the whole level on death.

Fly Treegator by Jhelle 2013-12-18T13:46:00

Great mechanic, love the graphics. Would be nice to restart quicker.

Super Christmas Teeth Basher 5000 by DaanVanYperen 2013-12-17T23:58:00

A little confusing, but a nice idea and great presentation.

Lunar Invaders by Axellent 2013-12-18T00:37:00

Couldn't run on OSX - the error just said "couldn't run"!

Awareness by kakhoofd 2013-12-17T15:38:00

Interesting concept. Nicely done, although I would say maybe a touch heavy-handed with the message. That said, with such a short development time and story, getting more subtlety into it would be difficult!

Airlock One by McFunkypants 2013-12-19T01:05:00

Very cool!

Tau Arrow by ThreeUp 2013-12-18T01:18:00

Can't really figure out how to kill anything or move...

Humanity's Last Hope by stenol 2013-12-18T13:51:00

Solid, but could do with more variation.

Escape from Planet Brobulon by Arcane Noise 2013-12-18T14:18:00

Cool stealth mechanic. The one raygun shot feels a little redundant as you can complete it without, and even seems like it discourages the use of stealth play a bit. But overall works well!

Fill-In Fantasy by frogcheese 2013-12-18T01:41:00

Love the graphics, style and audio! Gameplay is very grindy, obviously, but given it's kept short it's still fun til the end.

Spectrum by Keith Evans 2013-12-19T01:05:00

Controls are annoyingly finicky sometimes, but the concept, mechanic, graphics and audio are all fantastic!

Uno Terra by Diptoman 2013-12-18T00:20:00

Really complex, but great fun. Think the asteroids come a little thick and fast to begin with before you get a chance to work out a strategy though!

One Touch Of Music by KumoKairo 2013-12-18T00:13:00

Addictive, fun, great presentation.

The Voyage by hoqjed 2013-12-18T00:34:00

Cool mechanic. Love the description on the hallucinogen planet!

Last Squadron by Chaoseiro 2013-12-18T02:44:00

Pretty cool. Tricky, but very satisfying when you kill an enemy.

Darkness will crush me by ExtreLime 2013-12-18T16:16:00

Short and sweet, great atmosphere!

Pick Up Sticks by Rikkter Games 2013-12-18T12:59:00

Pretty nice concept and generally well executed, but the jumping could do with work. Loved the music!

ONE SHOT by João Kucera 2013-12-18T00:08:00

Cool, but restarts after the first mission? Also runs pretty slowly. But fun nonetheless!

Watch Out for Bears by bakpakin 2013-12-18T00:02:00

Pretty good! Nice presentation, although some issues with the text at the upper left in-game (disappears behind some world elements). Fun idea, implemented well.

Gravity Assist by Lyje 2013-12-17T18:01:00

@hate-marina: That would be awesome! I'll stick it on my list of potential additions on my blog post ( http://bit.ly/19aRCph ) and hopefully add some bits!

@KumoKairo: It's just the Unity TrailRenderer component, it's super easy to use. At the risk of shamelessly self-promoting, check out the previous (and first...) post on my blog cos I talk about it briefly.

@Diptoman: Totally agreed on music and the UI - I only had time to use built-in Unity UI which is notoriously awful!

@chamberlainpi: It was actually more inspired by my day job (I'm an accelerator physicist) but it definitely ended up with rovio-esque elements. The forces are implemented in a fairly hacky way so, as you've noticed, it's a little... wrong in some situations! If I were to do this "properly", I'd be very careful with the physics code and start from scratch.

Gravity Assist by Lyje 2013-12-18T12:02:00

Thanks Christina! The message on level 3 means that you can score more by going the long way round.

Gravity Assist by Lyje 2013-12-18T15:13:00

@Manou - Unfortunately given the time, I was hamstrung by Unity's GUI code! But you can restart quicker by pressing space.

Gravity Assist by Lyje 2013-12-18T16:32:00

@xrm0: Thanks! The reason for the "next" button not having a key is mainly to prevent accidental presses, but this would perhaps be solved with better UI (e.g. a bigger button!) anyway.

_You only get your keyboard! by jackolondon 2013-12-18T14:03:00

Nice! Tricky though, and not sure "one keyboard" has much to do with the theme!

Bounty hunting by vallde 2013-12-16T13:16:00

Really cool! Very simple, original idea, and very fun.

Pilot's Last Stand by phi6 2013-12-16T11:45:00

Love the graphics, sound and concept. Controls are a little tough to get a handle on, but overall really nice.

RETRIEVAL - a First Person Boomerang Puzzler by Adam Thompson 2013-12-19T00:18:00

Controls are a bit slow, boomerang doesn't fire to the crosshair and it's too easy to forget to pick up the boomerang after firing, but the core mechanic is nice and has potential.

Extractor by skeliton112 2013-12-18T01:12:00

Seems very similar to Motherload to me. Collision is a bit frustrating.

Such Thrust by jjc180 2013-12-18T13:57:00

Great physics!

You Only Get One Minute to Find your Crew by Bardek 2013-12-18T13:59:00

Cool, but needs a bit more work to "find the fun".

Others Have Many by MarioY19 2013-12-18T01:08:00

Not much depth, but very cute! The combination of unconventional controls and a "character" with no clear direction indicator can make it frustrating though.

Level One by TheOZone 2013-12-18T01:13:00

Couldn't launch on OSX 10.6.

Golf Quest by rojo 2013-12-18T14:31:00

Ultimately a bit frustrating as a method for moving a character around, but a nice concept nonetheless, so kudos!

You Have One Box by rob1221 2013-12-19T03:15:00

Great mix of puzzling and dexterity! But the music nearly drove me mad!

You Only Get One Key! by etirflita 2013-12-18T01:10:00

+1 to what @tcarter said.

Drone! by FistBumpGames 2013-12-19T00:16:00

Great atmosphere, like the central mechanic, although sound could do with some love.

Minute Dreams by piotrszoka 2013-12-18T14:22:00

Looks great, sounds great, plays great!

One Shot Killa by lasagnegames 2013-12-19T00:34:00

Can't seem to get past the menu? I click but nothing happens. Win7, firefox.

You only have one quantum hyperdimensional nuclear fusion powered neuro-AI cube...and button by Prophet Steve 2013-12-18T01:28:00

Nice concept, but reeeeeally hard!

Dinosaur Ranger Interview: Burrito Challenge SUPREME by Udell Games 2013-12-18T14:41:00

Quite fun, very funny, held back by a few really annoying aspects - the game typing out everything it says feels like a big waste of time when you're chomping at the bit to get typing yourself! Really slows things down - had to set the speed to full.

Mama is Sick by JaymeeMak 2013-12-18T02:59:00

Really moving.

Lumen by Nelien 2013-12-19T00:11:00

Excellent in pretty much every way. One of my favourites.

Ultra Volleyball Impact by Poupi 2013-12-18T13:11:00

Difficult but very cool.

Molten Progeny by tcarter 2013-12-18T01:45:00

Graphics were slick, but gameplay felt a bit stilted and unpolished. Not sure what it had to do with the theme?

Abandon your City by floetenmaul 2013-12-17T11:28:00

Great graphics, love the style! Plays well, pretty solid game. Music is nice, sounds need some work, could do with more feedback (graphically and audibly) on firing and hitting etc.

One Last Hack by PlayHabit 2013-12-19T01:05:00

Fun and hilarious!

Natives Are Restless by Ret44 2013-12-18T02:52:00

Download link for OSX seems to be broken.

You Only Have Ones by ipe369 2013-12-19T01:05:00

Fantastic concept, a really nice little board game. Very hard though!

YourOneAndOnly by npgames 2013-12-18T01:59:00

That is super cute, I really loved it! The characters were a bit slow, but the graphics, heart effects, theme and everything else more than made up for that!

You only get one bomb by victorqhong 2013-12-19T00:38:00

Me too...

Black Box by BlackBoxLD28 2013-12-17T15:25:00

Interesting concept, but couldn't figure out how to actually make a ship so didn't get very far...

Politicians Vs Zombies by Hunt_Dialga 2013-12-18T00:48:00

Didn't really get it... couldn't tell any difference between the liberal and conservative, and most of the game code was kinda broken.

FASTBACK by Opifex Ludus 2013-12-18T12:54:00

Nice! Very difficult on a trackpad :p

Single Load by willstall 2013-12-17T14:23:00

As you say, not really a game yet - but still lots of fun! The physics and animation make it really satisfying even without a goal. No idea what's going on though :p

Helicopter Pong by BernsteinA 2013-12-17T14:59:00

Interesting mash-up of two classics; a nice concept. IMO choosing one key is a liiiiittle tenuous as far as the jam theme goes though!

Junktion by Kohijin 2013-12-17T16:13:00

While I didn't get far due to little feedback on why I was dying, the atmosphere, concept, graphics and audio were all great.

Little Spartan by Bloodyaugust 2013-12-17T16:01:00

You've not uploaded anything!

Yet Another Rage Game: Polygon Edition by Miasmir 2013-12-19T03:16:00

Really cool idea, frustrating but in a "one more go" way!

Space Adventures by Rialgar 2013-12-17T15:02:00

Solid mechanically, but needs further development. Not sure where the theme is implemented though!

A Blade in the Night by Infin8 2013-12-19T01:05:00

Nice idea, but the controls are a bit broken, things disappear for no apparent reason and depth perception is virtually impossible. Would be really cool with some more polish.

The Amporius Project by small trouble 2013-12-19T03:15:00

Short, but nicely made.

Destroy The Core by StabAlarash 2013-12-16T13:12:00

Fantastic! Love the graphics, especially the sparks particle emitter. Sound is great, gameplay is really fun (if hard!). The only thing I'd say is - skip the intro when you retry, because it's a bit frustrating waiting through it.

OneThrust by Graham Weldon 2013-12-18T14:48:00

Hard, but love the idea.

Space to Proceed by Canyon 2013-12-17T15:49:00

Excellent concept, and a very well-told story. Overall a good experience but hampered by frustrating reliance on pixel-perfect timing and aiming - would be nice to focus more on the puzzle aspect and the story.

One Shot by revilossor 2013-12-17T16:00:00

Nice presentation, fairly polished, fits the theme pretty nicely. Ultimately a bit frustratingly difficult, but most of it feels very satisfying. Even dying!

You Only Get One Worker by Myyyvothrr 2013-12-18T13:07:00

Can get a bit repetitive, but a nice mechanic and attractive presentation.

Hard Point by LTyrosine 2013-12-17T16:06:00

Nice idea, but without any aid (even a crosshair!) it's virtually impossible to actually hit anything.

The one shot by jamesy012 2013-12-17T11:12:00

Wasn't expecting much, but when my first shot hit I was hooked! Really great concept, really satisfying, really fun!

TabulaQuondam by monkeymad2 2013-12-18T01:24:00

Great idea, very original. IMO your character moves slowly enough to verge on frustrating, but while the game is pretty difficult it's very rewarding to find the treasure. Feels like a real achievement!

Christmas Cookie Craze by UndergroundPixel 2013-12-18T12:50:00

Slick!

Reaccion 28 by Paco 2013-12-22T17:16:00

Great mechanic! Gets very hard very fast though!

No Choice by sudojess 2013-12-17T14:07:00

Trainspotting anyone? :p

TITAN SOULS by Claw 2013-12-17T08:55:00

The overworld gameplay is a bit maze-heavy, but the titans are great. The graphics, sound and animation are gorgeous!

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Senilescape by Xaychru 2014-05-01T15:53:00

Seriously good platforming physics - solid tight controls! Really enjoyed this one and I kept wanting to be a rebel and try and chance it with the chopper. Nope!

ScubaBear by _Rilem 2014-05-04T21:25:00

Amazing graphics and sound, solid platforming, extremely polished and definitely one of the best of the LD. Well done!

The Valley Rule by Raiyumi 2014-05-03T09:55:00

Wow. Those wall jumps were insanely hard. But something made me want to continue to the end, and after an hour or so - I finally did it. Lovely graphics and music, unlocking abilities and progressing to previous inaccessible areas felt totally natural. Great flow. Fantastic game, can't praise it enough. This should win!

The Valley Rule by Raiyumi 2014-05-06T08:09:00

For some reason I nailed the post-Jam version in a few minutes - as opposed to an hour when I last tried the older version. Is the overhang section much easier now?

Crystal Myth by TeamInCharge 2014-05-06T20:36:00

Wow - that feeling when I opened the gate into the city after aligning all those rings. And then it ended. Amazing work. MOAR!

Delve by conormn 2014-05-06T20:10:00

Really fun to delve! But for me it needs a game mechanic but I guess I'm just a traditionalist. Can't argue with those amazing graphics though!

Dig Hard by petey123567 2014-05-03T13:49:00

Yeah - really love this game, one of my favourites could play this all day. Definitely agree with others, gamepad is the only way to control effectively!

Dig Hard by petey123567 2014-05-06T12:03:00

Just completed it - endless mode please!

Ripple Runner by DDRKirby(ISQ) 2014-05-03T23:43:00

Probably the best sounding endless runner game in the world

Beneath the Cave by feiss 2014-05-06T20:04:00

Wish you'd spent more than 6 hours on this - with such graphics!

First Person Platformer by robcozzens 2014-04-29T15:50:00

I'm going to rate this based on what's there - really nice graphics actually and I like the post processing. Gravity I think is a bit harsh and mouse sensitivity is really high although I guess that varies with hardware. A good start so far!

Deep Collective by olkeencole 2014-05-01T15:09:00

Beautiful low poly art is beautiful! Just wish there was a more clear game mechanic :)

mungo: wrenchlord by 01010111 2014-05-04T16:02:00

Couldn't beat the safe zone minigame at the boss - as I was using keyb and mouse but still loved every minute of this game!

Ben Eath the Surf Ace by mr_tag 2014-05-04T15:46:00

Found it quite hard to do the tricks in time! Love the theme though :P

Heaving of the Depths by Christina Antoinette Neofotistou 2014-05-06T20:13:00

Yeah, totally love the art of all of your games! Will definitely check out your future entries :)

0x1D by bitnenfer 2014-05-04T15:53:00

Such a great idea to tweak variables to solve the platforming! Obviously controls could be tweaked to make it easier but the concept is absolutely solid. Would love to see a proper 3D game using this idea!

Down by SonnyBone 2014-05-03T23:53:00

Deep.

Behind Mirror by SaintHeiser 2014-05-03T22:23:00

Yeah so after progression to the V, the Beneath the Surface theme becomes more clear. Then you get to the U, and yet again things turn upside down on you. What a brilliant fucking game. Graphics are quality. Number of save points is perfect actually, and every death feels like its your fault which is a good thing. One of the best on the LD so far! Looking forward to the full version!

Stickleback by DustyStylus 2014-04-29T15:10:00

Really hard - but I love the premise of it. Tried several times but I think I wasn't near the surface enough. Love the low poly style, my kind of graphics :)

Sea Fighters by Julgodis 2014-04-30T07:47:00

It's pretty challenging! Love the momentum on the ship. Yeah I'm always a fan of top down shooters like this. Good job doing a HTML5 game!

Tenkosei ROBO by radmars 2014-05-04T16:11:00

A totally ingenious way to prevent players from skipping dialogue and not getting the story of your game. Also - it's so fun!

Wriggle Worm by gikdew 2014-04-29T15:42:00

Polished, and found this pretty challenging!

The Roots Of Evil by JaviCepa 2014-05-03T19:40:00

Surprisingly difficult for just surviving 3 minutes! Nicely tactile feeling on the shears. Good gameplay and simple but effective graphics. Love it!

Rude Bear Revengeance by Alex Rose 2014-04-29T14:46:00

Really hard - but I love the wall jump and dive kick mechanics they felt the most satisfying. Rope whip could do with some fine tuning as I didn't want to use it most of the time. Loving the normal mapped graphics and music!

Moles&Gnomes-Shahids: Holy War TD by Nelly 2014-04-30T11:52:00

Simple tower defence so I admit I did get bored rather quickly - but seems like a solid game!

Wunderheilung by kbm 2014-04-30T11:57:00

Pretty creepy! Almost salad fingers creepy. I like the idea and would have liked to see more patients!

Operation Blind October by Jyrkface 2014-04-29T17:51:00

Cool idea! The difficulty can get frustrating though!

Colony 31 by Crazi456 2014-04-30T11:10:00

Oh man this is so good on pretty much all aspects!

Mine Story by donan 2014-04-30T12:10:00

Love the exploration. Overall a good game!

Under the Sun by anton 2014-05-02T06:38:00

Wasn't sure what to do as it was just showing the splash screen! Unrated as of yet...

Refracture by Atmospherium 2014-05-06T20:19:00

Great graphics, solid twin-stick shooter. Could do with some more varied enemies though and gameplay needs to be tighter!

AHH LAVA! by Dreii 2014-05-01T15:55:00

Haha I love this - really simple but properly fun and challenging!

The God Beneath by iSamurai 2014-05-06T20:06:00

Definitely needs audio - even some crunchy sfxr would have been fine! Otherwise, pretty solid shooter

Beneath Wireframe by Manuel Magalhães 2014-05-06T20:02:00

Really clever concept!

Lost Sheep by Boneloaf 2014-04-29T14:23:00

As others have said - would have loved to have seen the GangBeats style dynamic camera on this! Lovely graphics and I really wanted to get that sheep out of there.. :)

Beneath The Lab by Techblogogy 2014-04-29T17:18:00

Very interesting game and clever mechanic. Thoroughly enjoyed it :)

Patient 283 by Beavl 2014-04-29T17:29:00

Simple but very polished and addictive! The narrative in the form of the unlocks keeps you going as well. Haven't got to 450nm yet, but still trying. My eyes are bleeding though...

Anett by KumoKairo 2014-04-30T18:31:00

LIked the control scheme but maybe there should be a way to move a bit faster. Good game overall!

DrawL by hoqjed 2014-04-29T17:49:00

Gorgeous graphics and an interesting concept, but ultimately the mechanics are too limited to keep you playing very long.

The Music Box (Voxel horror) by Glockenspiel 2014-04-30T11:44:00

Pretty good FPS feel and sound - but the environments need some variation, and an automap would have been nice! Also you should lock the mouse cursor when clicking or you will get issues with people clicking outside the Unity web player.

Troubles beneath the surface by archaeometrician 2014-05-01T15:58:00

I found the camera and aiming controls to be a bit unorthodox, but nothing game breaking thankfully! Great low poly graphics!

From the Under by damrem 2014-05-03T13:38:00

Lovely Rogue Legacy inspired title - graphics and sound are great but I found the gravity to be a little floaty for my liking. Otherwise - love roguelike permadeath games and any twist on the genre is welcome!

SUBLEVEL ZERO by Lyje 2014-04-29T04:49:00

Hi there - trying press Y to invert your mouse controls if you're having trouble with it! Thanks so much for playing!

SUBLEVEL ZERO by Lyje 2014-04-29T11:49:00

I've just uploaded a new build to fix some mouse issues - the Web player should now capture the mouse so the game is actually playable now :) Enjoy!

SUBLEVEL ZERO by Lyje 2014-04-29T16:35:00

@mrhill You have know the idea. The entire team is absolutely knackered and on the brink of death...

SUBLEVEL ZERO by Lyje 2014-05-01T07:39:00

@mtinkerhess - We should have made this clearer but the objective is to destroy the red thing (the reactor!) and that will transport you to the next procedurally generated level :)

SUBLEVEL ZERO by Lyje 2014-05-02T06:26:00

@Glockenspiel We're still deciding whether we want to take this project further, so at this time we will not be posting any source code :)

SUBLEVEL ZERO by Lyje 2014-05-07T12:28:00

Thanks for all the feedback thus far!
@Penguincat: There are definite balance problems, and we're doodling away on an updated version which we'll add soon. We may add adjustable FOV and sensitivity too.

@petey1234567: I was thinking of using InControl, but haven't before so decided to stick with what I knew!

Jet Force Gemini by gamesbyangelina 2014-05-02T06:45:00

Creepy stuff!

PATRIOT by sumprunk 2014-05-03T19:16:00

I like the sun background :)

Ghostlord Depths by HelixFox 2014-04-29T14:25:00

Really hard! Apparently there's a boss so I'm determined to get there. Love the graphics, sound and controls!

Beneath the City by deepnight 2014-05-04T10:24:00

Amazing graphics and fog of war. Would love to see a fully fledged version of this! Stealth mechanics actually do work!

Beneath the Rain by CruelMotivator 2014-04-29T17:38:00

Mood and atmosphere is great, and love the graphics. Thought-provoking.

Diver X by kamend 2014-05-03T19:29:00

Transparent walls don't help :P Otherwise, love the graphics!

Mole Position by Glint Games 2014-05-02T06:35:00

Nice puzzle elements - but I think the platforming physics/feel could definitely be tweaked!

The Creature Beneath by Otrora Games 2014-05-02T19:19:00

Nice graphics and music but I couldn't get into the puzzles aspect of it!

Surface Tension by twistedshield 2014-04-29T15:36:00

This is fantastic. Basically Super Hexagon with a gun and dodging bullets. Surprisingly balanced - constant struggle of choice between dodging/surviving and destroying the surface to get through. I love it!

Drill Drop by sirikan 2014-04-30T11:38:00

I like the concept and mechanic, just wish it would escalate in difficulty quicker :)

Hair Spirit Adventure by messthem team 2014-04-30T11:22:00

awesome vivid art style and interesting back story. Needs audio and my character was unable to move after the second load.

Beneath Colossal by Liens 2014-04-29T15:57:00

Wow that art direction is amazing! Way too much going on with the controls though, I think they can be streamlined further :)

Olm by Pfeyffer 2014-04-29T17:54:00

Feels a bit buggy, but an interesting mix of classic grappling hook / helicopter game mechanics.

Inner War by KickBack 2014-04-29T15:25:00

Wanted to keep playing and playing to get the different endings - a great idea for Ludum Dare. Lovely graphics, they are standout!

DEPTH BENEATH by mimic 2014-04-29T17:57:00

Love it! Great mechanics, graphics, colour scheme, sound, love the randomly generated objectives.

Mad Bunny by BigRat 2014-04-30T11:08:00

Went straight to the second level was thrown into the deep end. Tried the first level out was still a bit lost. Not much direction with the game. Also if its for the 48hr jam it shouldn't have those assets. I'm sure it would be fun if I was better at games :)

NanoDog by mechabit 2014-04-30T11:05:00

Great fun - classic twin stick and I love the dog sprite. Found it mega easy though - would have loved to play a really really hard version of this game :)

La Mer by SwedishCheese 2014-04-30T10:45:00

Disagree with spartangeek, you can obviously lose if you run out of oxygen - but I did admit found it easy to find the chest. In future versions there should definitely be obstacles in the way! Great first attempt!

Defy Hades by MyrddinsOwl 2014-05-02T07:20:00

Really impressive platforming physics with curved surfaces etc, lovely graphics, music and sound - only one thing I found the last puzzle rather odd and unclear even though I did finally complete it!

Descent by camlang 2014-04-30T07:54:00

I got to the boss thing - it's a pretty hard game! Loving the art style, very reminiscent of Hyper Light Drifter - which is a good thing! Am I right the noise filter is your health bar? Hope this does well as I think it could be a lovely game :)

No Eyes Willy by blockbot 2014-04-29T17:41:00

Nice little game with an original concept. I found a few bugs though, where Willy would fall through the floor or through a bridge.

Well done overall!

Beneath The Surface by adamwoolridge 2014-04-29T15:32:00

Once I understood the strategy needed, really interesting game and seems very well balanced with the different surfaces. I enjoyed the challenge! Needs music! Love the low poly planet.

CavEscape by thomz12 2014-04-29T15:46:00

Not entirely sure how the mechanics actually work but I enjoyed it all the time! Pretty addictive :)

Escape from Rigel 12 by Damian Schloter 2014-04-29T17:15:00

What's that spork made out of?! Couldn't get very far without too much slowdown, but fun idea!

IlluminateTree by IL_yoshioka 2014-05-02T07:22:00

Not much in the way of game mechanics, but the generative music was interesting!

Darkvision by vexille 2014-04-29T17:43:00

Moody and looks good, but the platforming mechanics are a bit too clumsy to get very far.

DrillPower by ianb96 2014-04-30T07:24:00

Wow - I'm actually surprised at this because the graphics was so basic, but I love the fact the fuel runs out pretty quickly so you have to get a move on. Digging mechanics, money + upgrade system from the shop. Lots of potential already, good job :)

Angler: Beneath the Surface by HelloWorld Studios 2014-04-30T07:32:00

The dead corpse floating fish at the end made me give this game maximum humor score. Haha!

The Westport Independent by Double Zero One Zero 2014-04-30T11:48:00

Graphics and music are amazing! Obviously PP similarities as others have said - but I do like the censorship theme!

Kill or Kill by GreatBigJerk 2014-04-29T17:33:00

Haha. Loved it, especially the dialog. Great sense of humour!

Descent| by HernanZh 2014-05-02T19:21:00

I love this game - one of my favourites! The graphics, gameplay and puzzles feel so old school and that's why I like it :)

Erutcarf by Collan 2014-04-30T07:45:00

Agree with others - a more dynamic camera would have definitely helped with this game. Ignoring that - I found strange satisfaction just rolling up the mountain and cracking the ball... How odd!

The Stars, Like Dust by davedx 2014-04-29T17:06:00

Very cool little sandbox sim idea :) Limited, but interesting.

Underworld Evolution by StudioWolfox 2014-04-30T12:02:00

Everything about this game is awesome apart from lack of a clear tutorial - so many attributes it is definitely overwhelming as others have said!

SubFlight 2075 by JTJones853 2014-05-01T15:14:00

Homage to Subwar 2050? I love it! Difficult to control though, but I guess that's what being in a real submarine is like :)

Geology Rocks by theengineers 2014-04-30T11:17:00

Love the main mechanic. Plenty of possibilities for more levels!

Alien Lobotomy by Soup With Bits 2014-04-30T12:05:00

I am not good with numbers or numerical based games so I found this pretty challenging - but I do like the graphics and effects for this!

Infection by InfectionTeam 2014-05-01T13:52:00

Nice game! I love the low poly art style. I found it quite hard to control, especially aiming with the mouse.

FFFFFF... The Game of Corporate Misanthropy by danhett 2014-04-29T14:33:00

Wow. Just wow. - Phi

(sub)surface by Andromatta 2014-05-06T07:32:00

Graphics and animation are the best bit about this game! Minimal but so effective - very Vlambeer. Some crunchy sfx and screen shake would do very well here. Mechanics could do with a bit of tweaking as going beneath the surface is not advisable!

Surface of Sanity by Shigor 2014-04-30T10:52:00

Whoa open the door die instantly that was scary haha! Music was great and thanks for doing procedural generation, my favourite topic :)

Cave Harrier by madjackmcmad 2014-04-29T16:30:00

This is so damn nostalgic. I'd love to know how you accomplished that camera angle/feel!

Super Surface Shape Shifter by sP0CkEr2 2014-05-04T10:30:00

Took me a while to figure out the mechanics but after that it was fun for a short time! I like the music and then screen shake effects.

BENEATH the SURFACE by soy_yuma 2014-05-03T19:26:00

If at first you don't succeed... yeah there was a lot of that! But practice made some sections eventually feel easier. Good job the game!

Debris by sudojess 2014-04-30T07:56:00

It's Gravity - the game! Awesome idea dude! :) - Phi

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Panorama by Lyje 2014-12-08T14:36:00

Thanks all :)

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Functor by Enneract 2015-04-23T18:25:00

Incredible idea. Graphics and audio are fantastic. Unfortunately it's really hard to see, in many cases, what the bottom box is, making it virtually impossible to play once the landscape gets complicated.

Underload by Taldius 2015-04-26T17:41:00

The gun that fires anything is great, and I like the idea of losing parts from your vehicle when you get shot - but in practice it means that basically once you get hit it's super hard to come back from! But overall, really fun :)

Star Driller Ultra by Omiya Games 2015-04-20T21:50:00

Graphics and aesthetics are awesome! Nice idea, but I didn't really feel in control of the ship. Perhaps the arcade idea was taken a bit far in that sense compared to giving the player more control?

DUPE by nicotuason 2015-04-23T18:26:00

Love the pixel art, dialogue and the concept, although I can't see the base mechanic being expanded particularly beyond the scope of the current game. Sound effects are nice, but are let down a bit by the music simply because it's quite repetitive.

Space Boy by Hyoga-3D 2015-04-20T21:54:00

The spherical idea is great, and the graphics are lovely. Controls and combat could really use some polish though.

Caffeine Rush by Tommislav 2015-04-23T18:25:00

Very, very weird. Mostly in a good way :) Love the music and graphics, and the first time I used the coffee I laughed out loud. Control is a bit strange; took me a while to realise it was all constrained (took longer because the camera frequently doesn't keep up!). And as fun as using the coffee is, I didn't really get what it did, despite finishing.

Where's Manno by local minimum 2015-04-26T17:41:00

I see what you mean about having a similar mood to my game :) But hot damn, that was confusing!

End of the Line by ljdp 2015-04-23T18:26:00

Art is great! Glad to see you've added a bit more length since I saw it last, although obviously it's still pretty short :p Music is a great fit to the train vibe, feels perfect. The only other thing I'd say really is that the jumping feels overly floaty - could do with being a bit tighter.

Spinnicus by NickZangus 2015-04-23T18:25:00

Really nice! Would be great to see the mechanic expanded to enemies which react differently, perhaps bosses etc.

Into The Fray by Naked_Samurai 2015-04-20T22:01:00

Afraid I'm not really sure what to do. Opening/closing nodes didn't seem to stop or redirect the green skull or the enemies... looks nice though, and the idea itself seems like a good one!

Out Of Mind by Lyje 2015-04-23T19:03:00

Many thanks for all the comments so far, really glad people like the game :D

GAMUBòRU GUMBALL!! by Robber 2015-04-26T17:41:00

I have no idea what just happened, but I loved it.

Nuclear Autumn by phi6 2015-04-23T18:25:00

Oh my god phi, you made a super meat boy metroidvania?! SO TIGHT

Flail Rider by jushii 2015-04-23T18:25:00

Awesome little game. A little hard to not die (perhaps replacing the hard fail state with something else would help, for instance speed penalty?). Also reducing the resistance the buildings pose to the flail might make for more of a fluid combo feeling. No idea why you've opted out of sound rating - sound and music was great!

Extinguished by Conk 2015-04-26T17:41:00

Cool graphics, nice concept! Needs a bit more polish and development though; more mechanics would really help.

Bomb bringer by SMASH BASH 2015-04-23T18:25:00

Could be good, but far too slow and unresponsive at the moment.

Starbinder by HunterAugust 2015-04-23T18:24:00

Just lovely.

MagDef by jhell 2015-04-23T18:26:00

Have to disagree with a lot of people - thought the music really didn't fit at all. That said, the mechanic is simple but fun and the research idea is nice. The levels tend to start off too easy and take too long to ramp up.

SNIFF by dyfer 2015-04-23T18:25:00

Great concept, fantastic art and animation, superb music. Mechanics could do with a lot of polish though - jumping is frustratingly floaty, upside-down drug causes all sorts of control problems while transitioning, enemy hitboxes feel unfair, thrown drugs passing straight through enemies is frustrating.

Troll smakkin' by Shimmergloom 2015-04-26T17:41:00

Great graphics, but the controls really got in the way for me, and combat could really do with more polish. But a fun little game!

Zombinball by PanKamil 2015-04-26T17:41:00

Nice, good fun :) Physics could use work though - pinball games live or die on their physics IMO and it's not quite there yet. A big first step would be increasing the responsiveness of the flippers - they feel very spongey.

RocketStep by gaugepunk 2015-04-26T17:41:00

Fantastic! Great fun, great graphics, great idea!

Dead Pixel by lebrokholic 2015-04-23T18:25:00

Nice graphics amd style, but 'puzzle' mechanic isn't very deep.

Gravitas by SpringCabal 2015-04-23T18:25:00

Cool idea, but very difficult to control.

Ex-Sword-Stential Crisis by Team Ex-Sword-Stential 2015-04-23T18:25:00

Great graphics, nice idea, but the physics could do with being less annoying (although I realise that silly physics is the point, I think it's a little over the top). Not at all a fan of the 'zany' music though.

Jungle Hair by ncannasse 2015-04-23T18:26:00

Nice idea, and the platforming is tight. Graphics and audio are great! Unfortunately the hair swinging physics is quite frustrating and unintuitive, and I didn't get very far because of that.

LD46 — Keep it alive

Back Four Seconds by madalaski 2020-05-11T13:17:11Z

Really charming. Lovely graphics, sound, atmosphere, writing, concept and humour, in no particular order. Definitely one of my favourites!

Useless Machines Inc. by herniewise 2020-04-25T19:22:16Z

Graphics, sound and overall atmosphere are fantastic, as are all the little details. The idea is nice, but it's very unforgiving - it takes multiple tries to even know what's going on before the baby dies. I think there's something fun here but it needs a lot of balancing!

You Reap What You Shoot by darkfrost 2020-04-25T19:26:31Z

Fery vun! Love the visual style. And the, uh, voice acting :p Massively unbalanced as many have noted, but still great fun!

Pumpkin Keeper by gurkenlabs 2020-04-25T19:25:09Z

Well made, but gets repetitive very quickly. Even when the enemies appear it's not very challenging and the days still drag. Could be nice with some balancing!

Package Panic: Always On Time by soldierbear 2020-04-25T19:22:53Z

Good fun! Weird but entertaining physics (and the car turns the wrong way when reversing which is confusing) and looks great. Love the animations on the driver. Camera does make things a little difficult sometimes.

Dunkegg by Luke Perkin 2020-04-25T19:25:58Z

Brilliant graphics, gameplay, sound and writing! Tricky but really engaging.

Trump Crisis Simulator 2020 by Lyje 2020-04-22T16:27:27Z

Thanks guys! Music would definitely help - didn't have time unfortunately! As for bad choices - if anything I was worried that I gave too many good choices, not realistically trumpish enough

Trump Crisis Simulator 2020 by Lyje 2020-04-27T15:18:26Z

@drskort @gurkenlabs Thanks! The balancing is definitely off, although in all honesty I was more interested in the humour than the balance!

@drskort To clarify - most of the art assets are 3rd party (credits/links under the screenshots), and animations are from Mixamo, so I'm perhaps not quite the prodigy you might think

@baubau @doot @tybau I'm really glad you liked it, thank you

@martinitron The golf minigame is completely automatic other than you clicking - I didn't want you to be able to make him play well

Trump Crisis Simulator 2020 by Lyje 2020-04-30T13:19:26Z

@tpcool thanks! It's definitely something of a one-note joke, but hopefully funny while it lasts  Balance is a bit off, but in general the key is to not do what Trump would do when you have the option

AA Jumper 2 by Rhiannon 2020-04-25T19:24:45Z

Shows promise, but as others have said it would be better to have fewer features and more polish. Air control, camera shake, better collision and controls would all help a lot!

Scrap Cargo by shadow30 2020-04-25T19:24:15Z

Really enjoyed this! I love multitasking games and this hit the spot. It does get super overwhelming towards the end though, to the point where in some cases I *think* it can be impossible. But I found myself playing it over and over again to get it right! Sound is nice, but too loud (or music is too quiet, take your pick!)

Tama-Gotcha! by JasonD 2020-05-11T13:14:44Z

Lovely writing, art and sound. Watching Edgar (the only correct name) develop is great!

Save the Fish by Duck Reaction 2020-04-25T19:22:01Z

Really nice. Simple and polished. Presentation is fantastic in every respect!

PULSE by JonasPK 2020-05-11T13:16:27Z

The concept is solid and there's clearly something fun here. But it feels very hard, unnecessarily so in some ways - for example not being able to rotate pieces, not being able to "cancel" the piece you just clicked, and how hard it is to instantly see what connections a piece has while they scroll by so fast. But with those changes I think this could be really good!

Sleep-Rolling Pangolin by Khyrgrim 2020-04-25T19:23:44Z

My favourite so far! Great concept, very well executed. Cute graphics and sound, overall just really really good!

Fire is Friend by Joe Chatfield 2020-04-25T19:27:01Z

Looks gorgeous and sounds great. The puzzles are neat, although I got stuck quite a few times due to bugs. But the concept is really nice!

ANICTO by WeAreDev 2020-04-25T19:25:22Z

Great concept. Nice graphics and lovely music. However it feels unfairly hard - the rocks needed to make new fires are very very rare, and it seems you need a lot of luck to stay alive. Sounds like not being able to relight fires is a bug though, and that would make it a lot more fair!

Silkworm: Keeping the Game Alive by Roey_Shap 2020-05-11T13:15:37Z

Loved the pleasantly mad narrative! Overall really well executed. I couldn't get past the FPS minigame though - not sure if I was doing the right thing (collecting the little pig heads with shift) but while the feed counter in the top left went up 2 each time the meter on the pig always kept going down.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Stuck In A Loop by davidcmcdonald 2020-10-24T15:58:09Z

Great style and atmosphere. Mechanically it's fun if simple, although the controls are a bit slidey which makes it hard to avoid the trails, and they reaaaaally punish you!

Twist Turn Shoot Burn by gamepopper 2020-10-24T14:32:59Z

Amazing PSX vibes!

Aouf Run by shubart 2020-10-24T14:34:19Z

Simple but well made and fun :) I think racing laps is a bit too obvious a take on the theme, but apart from that it's nice.

Loop Swat 'em Gravity by Nick Rafalski 2020-10-24T14:33:01Z

Gorgeous art style and a great idea. It's verrry tricky though - I feel like having to hit them into their own colour should maybe have been added later, as it takes ages to even get through wave 1!

Loop Pool by PTSnoop 2020-10-24T14:38:16Z

Great use of the theme and a fun game! Gets perhaps a little boring when down to just the black ball though. Also, mouse being limited to the screen limits shot power depending on where you are!

Loop by Papaver 2020-10-24T14:36:51Z

Super hard but also fun and somehow relaxing!

Retrospective by Cole and Jordan Studios 2020-10-24T23:08:05Z

Nicely executed, with some charming dialogue!

Circuit Escape by kogyblack 2020-10-24T14:34:45Z

Feels great to play, really solid driving mechanics! Very, very tough after a while though - the later time limits feel very stringent!

Escape From London by Daniel Alhadeff 2020-10-24T14:36:24Z

You had a similar thought to me :) so obviously I think it's a nice idea! Controls are quite sluggish and it's very easy to roll the car - with more responsive physics and mouselook you'd reduce some frustration!

LUPINS by Psychedelia 2020-10-24T16:55:57Z

Lovely atmosphere. Not sure I quite understand the game though :)

Knock, knock... Boooooo by FussenKuh 2020-10-24T14:38:42Z

Nice idea and a great interpretation of the theme. I was hoping for a little more of a puzzle element though!

Satellone by Weirdybeardyman 2020-10-24T23:06:16Z

Really nice atmosphere! Gameplay is a bit tricky to get used to, but satisfying when you get it.

Welcome To MILTON KEYNES by Lyje 2020-10-24T15:11:37Z

thanks guys! :)

Welcome To MILTON KEYNES by Lyje 2020-10-24T17:00:53Z

@stellarbeargames "Hilarious psychological thriller" is definitely the quote I'd put on the box  Great to hear I managed that seemingly-oxymoronic balance!

@cole-and-jordan-studios Really appreciate the in-depth feedback! You're absolutely right about the cars - sometimes the game does put you in a situation you can't actually get out of unfortunately. Good suggestion with the speeds

Welcome To MILTON KEYNES by Lyje 2020-10-26T11:34:07Z

@papaver it definitely can get unfair, sorry about that! And no, no way to win

opLo by JoaoG 2020-10-24T14:37:51Z

Nice idea, and it's really cool that you managed to get multiple endings in! However it's not really clear what the point is while playing, and the platformer controls/mechanics can get in the way.

Cellar's Nocturne by Dane Tesla 2020-10-24T14:37:19Z

Absolutely love the lo-fi photo aesthetic! Sound and atmosphere are great too. Takes a little while to work out what the game wants you to do (some of the "help" text at the start perhaps over-complicated things a bit?) but once you know what you're doing it's fun :)

Shape Escape - A minimalist strategy game by S J Palmer 2020-10-24T16:23:48Z

One of my favourites! Starts confusing, gets easier, gets almost meditative, then gets really challenging! Beautiful art style, really innovative mechanics and perfect minimal audio.

emiT by Rikitaner 2020-10-24T14:33:05Z

Not the most original idea but extremely well executed and polished!

Space Loop by HungryCatGames 2020-10-24T14:33:45Z

Interesting idea, but feels like you don't really have all that much aim control.

STUCK IN ORBIT by Baiketsu 2020-10-24T16:05:18Z

Really nice mechanic - actually quite similar to mine! I think there's scope for a great game here, although it can get very boring waiting to align - especially on larger planets - and I must admit I quit before finishing the final level because of that sorry!

Loopy Glitch by fpoli 2020-10-24T14:35:27Z

One of my favourites. Everything's great!

Ball vs Rope: Escape from Hell by nik184 2020-10-24T14:35:59Z

Really fun mechanic! A few things make it feel harder than it should be mechanically - the physics are a little weird, the radius on the ball to grab it while in motion could be more generous, and enemies sometimes appear right next to you. But the gameplay is still nice, and almost feels a bit like asteroids sometimes. Finally, not sure I get where the theme comes in?

The Grand Torus by Zagganoth 2020-10-24T23:06:26Z

The concept is nice, but in practice the rule changes don't feel like they really change the game much. Controls are difficult, and it could really do with a StarFox-style 3d reticule to know where you're going/aiming! But with some work this could be interesting :)

Bean Up! by TheGamer 2020-10-25T12:00:28Z

Nice tight platforming controls and I love the idea of making the same level more and more challenging! I don't know if there's more than 2 levels as I didn't get past the "smarter turret". I do think the second level could be a lot less frustrating while still being challenging - it feels like there's no point making the player run along all those spiked floors each time as you've already tested their ability to do so. I'd love to see that level change more structurally to reflect that, rather than just adding more spikes and turrets.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Street Chess by OddballDave 2018-04-25T12:01:18Z

This is amazing! Love everything about it. Nailed it.

Age Of Asteroids by Wevel 2018-04-24T13:56:52Z

Really like the visual style, and it's massively impressive how much you managed to get done! It's pretty difficult to actually play - the pathfinding doesn't seem to take account of terrain and the units/buildings, while attractive, are very hard to tell apart.

Learn with Babafounini by Nicso 2018-04-25T15:39:22Z

Afraid I couldn't get very far due to bugs - dialogue didn't progress, couldn't move, and camera was on a tilt the whole time :( Looks nice though!

Circuitry by Jesper Fyhr Knudsen 2018-04-24T20:15:01Z

The concept is solid, and actually one of the better ones I've seen for typing-plus-something-else. The colour scheme and gui make the words _really_ hard to see, which is just frustrating, and it's also a little hard to tell where the collision is on the electron. But once you get into the groove it's cool!

Elite Beat Zombygons by Archimagus 2018-04-25T15:40:39Z

Solid concept, really well executed. Clearly a lot of thought went into presentation.

OUTLAW 🚗 MAYOR 🚓🚓 PANIC! by 01010111 2018-04-24T19:46:07Z

I also can't get past the title, which is a real shame cos this sounds amazing!

First Person Shooter by aaants 2018-04-25T11:53:20Z

Agreed with @justin - I'd love to see it in VR!

Cardey (VR Only) by shadowbrain 2018-04-24T16:37:46Z

SO. HARD. But feels great! Until my arm starts aching, about 2 mins in :p

SKYWOOOD PIER by designernap 2018-04-25T11:54:31Z

Really nice! Love the slightly absurdist feeling from the combination of voice lines and objects. Presentation is really slick too.

Rude Bear Rogueolution by alexrose 2018-04-24T15:34:07Z

Yep, pretty mental! Took me a whiiiile to get the hang of the dashes.

Golf with Guns by Issac 2018-04-24T14:13:11Z

Really, really good! The final wave is possibly the most frustrating thing that's ever happened to me - but apparently in a good way since I persevered and finished it!

Suit 'em Up by Ntimi 2018-04-25T14:27:10Z

I like it! Really funny, and the anime-inspired putting-clothes-on sequences were a great touch.

Twine Walker by RockhopperGames 2018-04-25T14:27:24Z

Love the sheer absurdity of it! Made me laugh, but got to admit I stopped reading the text after a while!

Slide or Die by Zeriver 2018-04-24T20:15:32Z

While switching between FPS and top-down was a little jarring, once you get into the flow it works nicely and feels pretty good. I'd maybe suggest that when you switch to the top-down view it's oriented to the direction you're facing in FPS mode? Always took me a second to remember which way was which.

BASEBALL in HELL by ragtagradical 2018-04-25T14:26:34Z

I have no fucking idea what is going on but it's terrifying! Which I love. It would be great to see the same game with maybe slightly more explanation, and maybe slowing the ball down or something!

Nuclear Fission by mattpattie2 2018-04-25T15:03:48Z

Simple but hilarious! The first time TM said "Fields of wheat" I just about pissed myself.

Shameless plug, but my entry's heavily satirical as well... https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/politics-vs-games-lol

Lazors by tthe 2018-04-25T16:19:22Z

Great mechanic! Even Easy mode is pretty hard though, and I'm not convinced the mechanic actually uses the defining features of laser logic puzzles. But it's well thought-out, well executed, fun and has loads of potential!

Engine in Shadow by visumecadroide 2018-04-24T20:44:43Z

I love the idea of a stealth driving game. The game did lose a lot of its tension though when I realised the guards don't actually do anything!

Shake'n'Shoot by WilloXs 2018-04-24T20:16:07Z

The mechanic is a nice idea, although in practice it's a little hard to play as the sync between music and arrows drifts a lot, and it's difficult to "lock" into the spotlight such that the keys trigger the dance instead of moving.

Bloodtype Coffee - Timco - Supported by Graphickly by Timco 2018-04-24T20:15:28Z

Love it. The first time I went from 2D to 3D it was hilarious - I love having the mundane real world and suddenly seeing this crazy perception of the world inside the character's head! Plus the graphics and audio are fantastic.

The one thing I'd say really is that often it seems like there's no quite enough connection between the two worlds - like, I'd be stuck on a cupboard in 2D, then in 3D it's simply not there. Apart from that, great!

Tennis Hero by JeffChen 2018-04-24T16:20:25Z

Graphics, presentation and juice are phenomenal. Controls are a little strange - the mouse feels almost quantized somehow, and I think that gets in the way of the flow a bit for me. But fun!

Rhythm Overdrive by Diblow 2018-04-24T21:00:55Z

Looks and sounds great, obviously! Lots of juice and feels good. As some others have said I'd love to see the rhythm aspect reflected more in the gameplay rather than just the visuals and enemy patterns.

Ventureville by Alex_ADEdge 2018-04-27T12:11:09Z

Agree with @LandoSystems! Would be nice to have more analogue movement.

Love Is A Battlefield by F1Krazy 2018-04-24T20:14:15Z

That was actually quite an emotional rollercoaster, at the risk of sounding trite! On a simpler level, I loved the combination of health bar / affection meter. I had the same experience with the boss as @minibobbo, and additionally it would be nice to have a health bar for the boss itself, or at least more feedback that you're doing the right thing - when I died (only to win later) I thought I was meant to, since the boss showed no sign of being damaged.

BoomBall by shrinjoy_fox 2018-04-24T20:16:24Z

Nice idea, and a great effort! I think specific things to work on would be controls (mouse sensitivity is very low, firing has a delay), goal detection (I scored once and got 5 points!) and generally tuning the pace and chaos of it all!

Recipe for Disaster by dragonslumber 2018-04-24T23:20:26Z

Basically echoing what pretty much everyone else has said! Good job! I do have a bug report though - the self-righting mechanism has an interesting result if you end up on your tail :p ezgif.com-gif-maker.gif

Cruise & Co. by Blinkenlights 2018-04-25T15:03:00Z

Nice idea, works well. Gets frustrating when you get in a situation you can't maneuver out of though!

Cruise & Co. by Blinkenlights 2018-04-25T16:10:48Z

@Blinkenlights yeah, that sort of stuff is tough on a jam deadline! Never easy to ensure random/procedural elements never break gameplay.

Holding Aces: The Card Game Shoot-em-Up! by NerdyTea 2018-04-25T14:26:52Z

Nicely executed, especially for your first LD! Looks, sounds and feels nice. Could do with more of a card-game influence I think - as it is it's not all that much more than a skin on the bullets, although the different effects on the cards is a nice touch.

Beat Warriors by Von Vista 2018-04-25T16:33:27Z

I like the idea, but man, this is WAAAY too hard right now for me! A few suggestions if I might.

1) I'd make the SDFJKL letters clearer somehow, or at least mention them in the description or title screen - took me ages to figure out those were the keys I was meant to press.

2) make the lanes visually clear - once I'd figured out the inputs, I struggled to know which key to press until it was pretty much too late.

3) Ramp up the difficulty - to ease players in, it would be really helpful to start with only, say, 3 or 4 keys actually in use, and bring the remaining ones in over time.

4) Make spacebar restart or something once you die - having to move my hands to the mouse and then re-find the SDFJKL keys before getting hit by the first note really hindered me getting used to the controls.

5) More lives! It's frustrating to die so easily, and again, only getting 3 seconds of gameplay before dying gets in the way of players getting used to the controls.

Apologies if that all sounds harsh - it's not meant to be! I genuinely like what you've got and I'd love to be able to actually play it :)

Burger Boy by Ben Grimm 2018-04-25T15:02:38Z

Looks and sounds great, and love the idea! It'd be great to see it developed further. As for when you can improve it, you're probably fine to include links to new versions in the description (rather than in the links section) as long as you make it clear people shouldn't rate newer versions.

Desert Drifter by Literal Games 2018-04-24T20:22:25Z

Great sense of atmosphere. I really enjoyed just blasting around, especially with how fluid and serene it all felt. It was interesting how the addition of photography made me look at everything differently. More diegetic sound could have added a lot though. Obviously, physics are a bit janky at times and the camera could do with a system to stop it clipping through things at times, but really nice overall.

Star Brawler by SamuelDeboni 2018-04-25T15:03:24Z

Not bad - the core concept works nicely and I'd love to see it taken further. Could do with smoother controls, more feedback on when you're hitting (and getting hit by) enemies.

Date Night by Darby Costello 2018-04-24T10:11:54Z

Love the humour, theme and CGA look!

Rogue Ball by ctran13 2018-04-25T15:24:54Z

Nice concept that works really well! And the contrast of football with the menacing roguelike style is both unnerving and pretty funny :)

Gorytale by zivs 2018-04-24T20:31:21Z

Great visuals, sound and overall presentation. Plays well and feels good, but I did run out of things to do a bit faster than I was hoping! It'd be great to see a levelling system, extra weapons or something.

Turn Around - When turn-based rules meets their opposite ! by ValBoise 2018-04-24T20:39:00Z

Visuals are absolutely gorgeous, and presentation in general is great. I'm not sure the mix of turn-based and realtime quite works, at least not exactly as implemented here, but I'd love to see some variations on the idea. Also, having the controls be at 45 degrees to the visuals complicates things quite a lot when you're already dealing with the turn-based/realtime mix!

Nice ride, Driver! by member_of_conference 2018-04-24T20:15:52Z

Looks nice and feels fun, but I've got no idea what to do (or what the connection to the theme is)! Sound would also help a lot.

Super Ice-Cream Roller Ultra by Probe31 2018-04-25T15:12:57Z

I actually thought the controls were just about right - tricky, but balanced just enough that you feel like it was your own fault when you fall off! Great presentation too.

Monstrously Hunky by CraigFortune 2018-04-24T12:06:14Z

The writing's great, and works really nicely with the proc gen. Looks nice, works well!

POLITICS VS GAMES LOL by Lyje 2018-04-24T20:04:27Z

@gdort - it's a twist on the theme, in that I'm using "politics" and "games" as the incompatible things.

F1Krazy - really glad to hear it! With something like this, I never know if I've actually managed to do what I intended.

@noumenus - thanks! Getting stuck is a bug, thanks for finding it!

POLITICS VS GAMES LOL by Lyje 2018-04-24T21:16:17Z

@dragonslumber That's by design, yeah :)

POLITICS VS GAMES LOL by Lyje 2018-04-25T16:03:08Z

@ctran13 Thanks :) I specifically picked a tried-and-tested core mechanic to make it easily picked up and not distract from the message.

POLITICS VS GAMES LOL by Lyje 2018-04-25T16:35:54Z

@RockhopperGames Definitely a difficult thing to get right! And while I'm really happy with the response it's had thus far, and I'm proud of what I managed to do with it, I think it could do with refining somehow. But I don't think I'm good enough of a writer to figure out how.

@geck0 When you get to that point, it's endless yeah :) Or in other words, it *is* the end :)

POLITICS VS GAMES LOL by Lyje 2018-04-30T08:40:54Z

@Lyxil you really found pretty much everything! Wasn't expecting anyone to notice quite ALL of that!
