Npt a bad little game, I used to play worse versions of it on miniclip so fair play.

Npt a bad little game, I used to play worse versions of it on miniclip so fair play.
Haha awesome, such a fun game, brilliant idea and just hard enough but possible enough to be super addictive. That ramp is the bane of my life. The sound effects were a nice touch haha why does a dog bark when you finish a lap? Also I love that the egg splats are persistent, that was another nice touch. The only thing I would say negatively is the camera made me feel a little dizzy, it might be better if it was a little lower and maybe lerped rotation, but great job.
Wow that's a great little platformer, the dimming is a great little time mechanic which really gives the game a good sense of pace, it feels really good and I love the progressive music, I tried to do that in my game but in the end my level was so short most people wouldn't notice, but you made the game a really good length.
Nice one quill, I wasn't very good at it but it made me keep playing until I worked it out :)
Wow you nailed it with this one, it's such a good re-invention of the frogger style game, the art and audio perfectly suit it and the ragdoll physics and the stupidity of the alien make it so funny and just the right amount of frustrating to keep me addicted :) - it's amazing when the alien gets flung so high it goes off screen or it gets stuck to the bumper of a lorry and taken off down the road, it made me laugh out loud.
Wow now I think this is my favourite of Ludum Dare so far, what an engaging game, so atmospheric, looks amazing, you built such a deep feeling world, the gameplay keeps you riveted and man those railworkers or choppers, whichever the ones with hooks are, are utterly terrifying. Amazing job. I love that his shoelaces keep coming untied, and you just made everything feel so satisfying.
Nice graphics and good concept, just could do with being a bit more explanatory and more progression, but well done, some parts of it are really nicely executed.
Wow feels very polished, I wasn't very good at it but I really like the mechanics and the art.
Haha nice job, I had this same idea because I had to do this in school too, but in the end I went for an egg game instead. Well done, you made a nice simple but effective game, the gameplay is hard, maybe the levels go on a little bit too long, and it would be nice to have some music, but I think you did a great job of the art and animations and made a nice little game.
Wow this game is incredible, it's an amazing concept, so fun to play, looks great and it's so polished! Definitely my favourite game of Ludum Dare so far.
Wow it looks beautiful, very nice simple pixel art, and the animations and sound effects make it feel really satisfying, it's a very well put together little game, with good pace. I really enjoyed it, I did get stuck on the tutorial menu and after losing though, it would be nice to have a button to restart. ( Sorry if there is and I missed it)
Wow, great game, I love the art and the concept.
It gets real when you drop one. Such a good game, simple and well polished, well paced and I love the little details like the random retro wave, the way the fish swim around and jump about in the tank, and the reward at the end.
Wow it looks awesome, very cute and has a nice atmosphere, but I find the controls a little hard, it's hard to guess where the ball is going.
Sounds great, it's very chilled, and I like the minimalistic art style, but the spaceship and cube are a little hard to control.
@corruptor2037 haha thanks man, I tried :D
@seriouslycrunchy @pronomicalartist @danielrmorgan @anti666 @spaceguy99 @galgris @cjgammon @odeyalko @thedebian @mudlee @matt2728 @logan-perkins @kent-reese @saruto @corruptor2037 @amerigo-gazaway @blobo @chief141 @quinn-patrick @robert-li @chaseplays - Thank you all for playing and rating my game and giving me such good feedback, I really appreciate it. I had a great time doing the compo and playing everyone's games, and I am really happy with the game I was able to finish and the results are a nice bonus. I look forward to doing it all again in October and maybe I will have learnt how to art by then haha (very unlikely)
Nice game, it's pretty funny and you put a lot of work into building the level, it's really good, a hunger bar or something would be nice though just to keep the pace of the game up.
Wow, it's great, your art is so cute. There's a lot of attention to detail, I loved the news playing on the TV.
Nice, quite good little polished game.
Awesome, very fun and addictive, the music and the graphics are simple and brilliant, the only complaint would be dial the camera shake down a little, I know you added it to make the game satisfying which definitely worked but after shooting loads it made my eyes go a little funny haha
I like it a lot, funny/creepy and nice art. I was not expecting that minigame haha. WDo we never find our what was underneath the trapdoor?
Good concept, and some nice touches like the audio and animation, I got to 70 seconds :) The actual gameplay was a little button mashy but a nice game for 48 hours.
I love the aesthetics and and atmosphere, the controls also felt really good when I got them right but I really struggled with them, maybe I'm just bad at this game :D
Very nice concept, maybe a little too hard though :)
Very nice, great concept, just the right balance of challenging and fun, good music, nice art and very nice mechanics.
Nice platformer, I love that he picks things up by putting them on his head, and the little robot eyes watching you are very Potalesque.
Some cute graphics but I assume the island's aren't procedurally generated because I kept on getting lost in open sea? Calm game, in what should be stressful situation :)
Great little fun game, cute retro style and a nice challenge, I enjoyed it a lot.
Haha it's definitely got good bizarre humor, I like how the wolves just disappear when you bark at them, it's a good concept, though like some others I got flung off screen by the sheep and couldn't find my way back :)
Fun and very hard.
280 seconds, man this game is stressful and hard haha, now I don't want a baby! Very nice game, good art style, concept and well put together.
A good little game, I love the sound effects and the music is good, it would be a little easier to control if the camera rotated around the bee, but great concept and some charming art.
Great little puzzle platformer, the egg cracking mechanic adds a good bit of fun to it.
Interesting concept, very nice art and quick and simple gameplay, very nice submission.
Very nice graphics, and interesting gameplay, a nice new take on a Space Invader style game.
Nice little game, it's a good concept, maybe the senses fade too quickly but it gives you a good sense of urgency and challenge which makes the short level feel longer then it is. Well done.
I really like the concept, protecting the tree and being able to skirt the zombies and bombs away is great, it's a little slow at the beginning and then suddenly get's super hectic, also the gun is a little hard to aim and some music would be cool too but good job and I really like the tree animations!
Simple but effective little game, the controls feel good, nice sprites, but some music and sfx would be nice.
Wow great job, this game has so much creepy atmosphere and you built a really great feeling story, it would be amazing with music, but for the time limit it's a brilliant entry.
Awesome, I really like it, you put a lot of attention to detail in, I love that you can pick objects up and then they float around the cabin, the fact you can look out of the windows, it gave the game a lot more immersion, also the soundtrack was good and the whole thing had a good and tense atmosphere, I think the wooly spaceship controls definitely helped the tension haha The only thing was I ran out of fuel before getting there and I didn't know what to do to continue?
Very nice art, I love all the food and items in the shop, but I am wondering the same thing as Gabriel, was there an end or I was I just supposed to kill all the enemies? Also where is the goose? haha
It's a fun little game, the level design is pretty cool and I played all the way through and enjoyed it so good job.
Nice little game, obviously super simple but it feels nice to play and definitely has potential. I think the roundabouts make it a nice use of the theme and it's a pretty creative idea. Good job!
Beautiful looking art, although it was a little hard to see the slugs sometimes and they were a little hard to shoot. You made the movement and jumping between planetoids really satisfying, especially when you squish a slug. Nice relaxing music and a good polished feel. I get that it was a never ending loop but it would be nice to have some explanation of why or some sense of progression and then I feel like I could play this all day.
Brilliant, really cute with great art and lots of nice little touches like the spinning round the wheel and the sleeping animation. Great work, especially for one day!
You definitely made it satisfying, great SFX and the loop concept is cool, although I don't think I was able to use it skillfully, it might be nice to have more control over it. There was a perfect amount of content and it felt really complete and polished.
I love the aesthetic and the gameplay was nice and nostalgic and pretty disconcerting. You created a good mood and there felt like a deep story behind it. Some ambient music would be great, despite that I loved it.
Wow I had a great time playing this, this is the only game of the dare so far that I've happily played for an hour and would play again. It feels really polished and the simple art looks great. I know the payout was supposed to be exponential but it did seem a little inconsistent or at least a little hard to tell why sometimes I would get $6 or $2000. Maybe a breakdown of penalties would be good. Unfortunately it crashed when I did my final drive. If it gets patched or improved in the future I can definitely see myself coming back and playing it more. Great submission!
@rongo-matane nice end screen, thanks I feel complete now.
Great job, a spinning hamster wheel rhythm game is a great concept and it works really well for the theme. It would be nice to see more polish like some visual or audio feedback when you get a beat right and when you finish a level, also I got a bit confused at the end when level three just continued forever without any more beats. But yeah great job for a first rhythm game, very enjoyable to play and the hamster on a moped is darn cute.
I love the polish, the art and music are brilliant, I found it a little difficult to control but it was a great concept and really matched the theme!
I found it really hard but it looked cool. There were some nice polishing touches too.
Nice little simple game, I like the fact that you put music and sfx in there, even if the engine sounds were a little annoying over time. The control of the vehicle is pretty good too and you perfectly completed the theme. I would agree with @kallthar about the placement of the obstacles, it might be good to have a flashing sprite appear that you don't collide with to warn you before it fully appears or something like that. Great submission though!
@mincho Thank you for playing and rating, I really appreciate the feedback. I really struggled and ran out of time to correctly balance the game and make the mechanics feel challenging yet fun, I'm glad you enjoyed it though, sorry it's too hard!
@freeworld Thanks freeworld, I'm sorry I just couldn't balance the game correctly before the time ran out and make it compelling enough, thank you for the kind feedback!
@ellladee thank you!
@barrier thank you, yeah that would definitely be a good thing for me to add!
Thank you @madbookstudios making the sound effects was super fun :D always one of my favourite parts of a game jam.
@roolow aww thank you very much!
@judgezedd Thanks, yeah who knew Satellites were so depressed?
@fumybulb Спасибо большое!
@pschichtel @rgilpt @roikku Thanks guys for playing the game and the feedback. I definitely should have made green balls for more RCS or something.
@lereveur Thank you for playing and rating the game, yeah sorry about that :D
@jin9310 Thanks for the nice feedback, yeah a skippable intro would definitely be better!
Thanks @omnes-ludos
@apples-mmmmmmmm yep fair enough, I appreciate the criticism, I definitely wasn't able to achieve the game loop and balance I wanted.
@ruthiepee Thank you, I'm glad you liked the atmosphere. I don't know I thought adding a smiley face to the moon and a sad face to the satellite would make you feel even sadder for the satellite :) Thanks for the feedback!
@egan-henderson thank you! I definitely feel best about the mood, not so sure about the gameplay itself haha
@lyje thanks for playing and rating, I appreciate it!
Thanks @midorimelody yeah I definitely need to refine the controls.
@healthire Thank you for the positive feedback, I think you're the first person to say the gameplay is easy, do you work for NASA? :)
Thank you so much everyone for playing and rating, I had such a good time making this game and I can't believe the results, I'm absolutely chuffed!
Nice job guys, as a brit I appreciate the danger of burning toast, shame there was no tea task though. It was challenging, that music gets pretty hectic towards the end but there were enough tasks to keep it entertaining. Good job!
Wow are you sure you made this in a weekend? The amount of work that's gone into this technically is incredible.Map generation, pathfinding, an extensive crafting system, fog of war, day night cycle, multiplayer... Of course I could say the obligatory things like it would be nice to have music, the art is a bit primitive, but I can't imagine how you could have added those things to this game in time as well. You fulfilled the theme well too, I like how the raft takes you back to where you were, and the open endedness of the game also makes it feel like a loop. Great job!
Hehe you made it pretty difficult. I do like tycoon games but I thought some more visual indicators and instructions would help me to grasp the idea. Nice graphics and audio which make a nice mood. The custom cursor is really cool as people have pointed out already. The flavour text is nice, I like that it gives you the option to fight for your life and then say nope haha. Great first entry into a Ludum Dare!
Such a nice Zen game, polished and so satisfying. Great job with the audio!
I liked the fact that you had music and sfx, you also fulfilled the theme well. The art looked pretty smooth too. I thought the platforming felt a little floaty and it was hard to tell what to do and where to go in the levels. Also some damage indicators would be nice, and I don't know if it was a bug but nothing happened after I died.
It's a nice concept and I think is has potential, it was a little unintuitive and tricky to start with but with more visual polish it it would be a nice game, good job!
Nice game mechanic, fells pretty polished and like there's lots of content, sometimes the puzzles felt a little slow, maybe just the speed of the robot could be increased. Overall a great entry!
Nice concept, I think we have a similar interpretation on the theme. I really like the way the planet casts a shadow on things, also the orbits of the resources were cool, although it was a shame you couldn't go too far away from your ship to grab them all. A little more polish like music and SFX or some more feedback would be nice, but it's a really solid entry, well done!
Hey we had pretty similar ideas, I liked the fact that you display the orbit, that was something I wanted to implement but didn't have the time. You also made the controls feel nice and stable and the gameplay was very understandable. It would be nice to have some audio and some kind of objective and maybe a timer or score to know how well you are doing. But good job!
Wow short and sweet. The game was really enjoyable, such a nice polish and feel. I could imagine myself playing hours of that, great job. Looks great, feels great and you left me wanting more.
Simple, effective and addictive. I think it was a good difficulty, the spaceship had nice snappy controls and you put in lots of nice touches that made it feel polished. Great job! We both had fairly similar ideas about this brief!
Wow really nice and relaxing, nice simple tasks, you really nailed the theme. There were a few bugs like the breath amount outputting to console but I really enjoyed your entry.
Hi, the link doesn't seem to be working
Good job for a first gamejam to finish a game, I like that the levels repeated, nice use of the theme. Next time try to budget more time for polish like art and a controls and instructions menu. Keep it up!
Interesting, it would be nice to be able to run faster, overall looks good and has potential, good job for a first jam!
Nice concept, I appreciated the little stickman dancing. I think a big part of rhythm games is making it feel satisfying when you get a beat correct, so I think a bit of visual and audio feedback would make a great addition to this game, also let the player know when they miss or are out of time. Keep it up!
I really liked the chill mood and it was a great use of the theme. The visuals were pretty, nice game.
Nice little game, the music did a good job of making me press along to the beat. It was a bit of a finger twister but honestly I would say the difficulty was just about right to be challenging enough that you want to play again and do better. It was cool to see some Easter eggs in the background, and I think it's great if you made it in only an afternoon. I quite enjoyed this theme tbh because it was quite conceptual and allowed for different interpretations, even if most people (like me) went for simple stuff like digging and submarines :D I would say a theme like "combine two incompatible genres" like you included in the Easter egg isn't even a theme, it's a constraint, like some jams have a theme and a constraint, but I agree that more conceptual themes aren't necessarily easier to brainstorm for. Good job on a fun little submission!
@lereveur that's fair, man you've done a lot of LD's!
@lereveur I actually remember your crazy looper from last jam, that was fun!
I love this game, such a nice vibe. Really beautiful art- nice shaders, the clouds and sea look great. I love the atmosphere you created with the SFX, the occasional seagull, and the radar (sonar?) display showing schools of fish and the odd whale. Lovely. The radar looks beautiful, and the minigame is simple and fun and everything just feels so intuitive, you really don't need instructions for this game. The autothrottle was a nice quality of life touch. I'm curious how your procedural generation works, I guess the map with the rocks and X spots are procedural? Are the grabber minigames procedural or just picked from a list of premade maps? It seems like a perfect sized game for a game-jam game, and there's noting really better than just sailing the seven seas looking for treasure with your cup of coffee.
@ava-skoog nicely done, I definitely had no idea it was looped.
Very interesting a cool looking game. Initially I was wondering if you brainstormed for the theme "Parasite" before it turned out that "Deeper and Deeper" was the theme, but you did a good job incorporating the theme and making something compelling. There was a cool atmosphere to the game, I loved the big eyed operator staring at me. Great job!
Brilliant, it's a classic format that you executed really nicely, I've always enjoyed this type of game. You added a few really nice pieces of polish that made it special like how the fish swim away from you and the way the fish change at different depths and the way the dial spins when you are approaching the ocean floor. Perfect compo game.
Nice, who doesn't love a mario kart SNES style game, nice SFX and Music, although the engine noise was a little harsh. It was fun buto could do with a lap counter or something, but the fact that there was a track editor was really cool, I like the little string it generated for you, I had no idea how to actually play the levels I made though. Also what does MPF 17 mean? :D
Very cute enjoyable and challenging puzzle game. I love the atmosphere, the nice SFX and the way that the blue guy squishes.
Damn, this is a beautiful and innovative game, amazing you made this under compo conditions. I found it difficult but in a way that makes me want to keep playing to improve, because it's just such a novel concept my brain is going to have to get used to it. I now have a hatred and distrust of frogs, ducks and cacti... oh and also the floor, so well done, mission accomplished.
Very good looking and some of the controls feel great to use, really nice minigames that keep you engaged and feel satisfying (those battery sliders :sweat_drops:) however I felt like they broke too often and I could never keep them all on green. Especially the typing commands into the terminal, it felt like a bit of a chore. Great job though, and would be amazing with audio too.
Damn, now that is how to Ludum Dare. A beautiful, perfect length game, just the right amount of challenging, novel and innovative and incorporating the theme in ways that actually make the gameplay fun and exciting. I love the way that the sword getting bigger doesn't just make the puzzles easier, it changes them up and makes some levels harder and some easier. Great work, I think I will be replaying this one to improve my time for sure. Oh nice cute ending too, and cute SFX!
Wow this was a really cool idea that was really well executed, but man it was stressful trying to play both those games at once :D Really great job!
Great job with the lighting, it really made the game look great. Those angler fish type things were terrifying. After about level 20 when it sped up it kind of became impossible for me, but before then I thought the controls and difficulty were really good, the ball didn't feel too sluggish or too responsive. Good job!
Very cool game, I like the atmosphere and some of the little touches like the "Do not press this button" button were great. As others have said I found the controls a little difficult, I think we all make control schemes that suit us and apparently as I've found with my submission too, they don't always suit others. I didn't find it impossible to fly though, just maybe too easy to crash into the walls so maybe some more health would be appreciated, also just having press Z to release would be much nicer than hold, or make the hold shorter because it was really hard / impossible to hover the craft above the mine entrance when dropping things off, and at one point they actually never dropped off the magnet. But I don't mean to be critical, it was really cool and enjoyable, great job!
Nice little game. I like the dynamic music and the audio was good. Nice clean graphics, good difficulty and a decent amount of gameplay. The lasers felt really satisfying to use, though I felt like the ship steering felt a little sticky at times.
Very polished and clean looking visuals, nice simple and fun concept, but I found the slimes pretty hard haha
Nice cute little game, I love the graphics and audio, they created a really nice mood, that sprite turning animation and the eel things poking their heads out were just nice little touches which added something special.
@budark Thank you!
@deadmanjw thanks mate, yeah it might have been more intuitive if the directional controls were using the mouse.
@vegmuffin thanks!
@fatebreak I originally had the up and down the other way round but that felt unnatural to me, it might be from playing flight games?
@indigowolf @arya-s @glitchman thanks guys!
@fatebreak ah I can see how that would make it confusing if you already have that Submarine control association XD
@vaanrile thank you very much, yeah it seems to be a problem for most people :)
@parsafari @nick-rafalski @pohko thank you very much, I'm glad to enjoyed it!
@webox thank you, glad you liked it, that's really appreciated!
Thank you @lesinvisible I hadn't heard of Sub Culture before, looks cool!
@thijs-tak @cg-fred thanks both of you, sorry you didn't get on with the controls!
@secret-magic-404 great I'm glad you enjoyed it and found it relaxing, that's exactly what I was going for. No you definitely can't collect all the rubbish, it's procedurally generated so there is always more to collect haha
@jesterseraph yeah using the cursor would be a good idea to try. The jittering probably came from a new chunk being loaded, unfortunately I've not used multi-threading before in Godot to fix that. Yeah I definitely had good fun making it. Thanks for the feedback!
@pythooonuser thank you for playing, sorry the controls didn't feel natural for you
@marcovalekaz yes sorry I did put a little comment on the itch page, basically W+Ctl closes the tab in chrome! Thanks for playing :)
@nigeynige thanks I'm really glad you like the tone!
@jotlane yay I'm glad you found it relaxing, that was definitely what I was going for! Yeah I definitely just slapped the camera follow together so it wasn't the best.
@anuke Thanks for playing and the good feedback, yeah about the theme, initially I was going to make the sea get deeper and deeper the further you went but I figured it wouldn't work with the procedurally generated world because you could just go back towards the start, and I ran out of time to implement something like that.
Thanks @azagaya glad you liked it. Yep watch out for the ground haha
Thank you @lereveur sorry for making it too difficult to find the vents, I was worried about them being spawned too much and making the game boring but I think I might have ended up going too far the other way. Balance is definitely not my strong point!
@room606 oh yeah a sucker or something for the rubbish is a really good idea. I was originally going to have a little robot arm on the front of the Sub holding a rubbish bag but unfortunately time escaped me. Thanks for playing and the positive feedback!
@room606 by the way ( *spoiler* ) if you get more than 20 pieces of rubbish Greta is pleased with you :D
@ava-skoog thank you very much, glad you liked it, yeah the chunking could be a bit obvious at times, thanks for the feedback!
@oadt thank you, glad you found it relaxing.
Not a bad little platformer, I get the impression you may have been inspired by Mario haha. It definitely felt satisfying to collect coins, the art looked nice and it was quite atmospheric. I would say the area of vision could be a little bigger, or fade more gradually into darkness so that you are able to see obstacles and enemies and don't just have to jump blindly down holes, although that does add a special kind of atmosphere in itself. I took damage a few times but was a little confused until I read the comments if I was losing health or not. I also wasn't sure which was I was supposed to be going but I guess that was intentional, as all paths lead to the bottom. But yeah it was a good achievement to complete that game in a weekend, well done!
@room606 Cool game, it was very reminiscent of old Miniclip games from my early teen-hood, I'm sure I would have played loads of it back then. Nice music and SFX too, at times it felt quite polished, I like the quotes as well, they were a great touch, also the UI looks professional. Like others my main problem was the hit boxes and the rebound, if those were adjusted I think it would have been really fun. Also I found a bug with the hitbox of the green boxes not working from the top and letting you pass through the box and then get rebounded around a bit Screen2.jpg This one barrel seemed impossible to get to Screen1.jpg I also found on two levels that the B2 didn't fly across the screen. Was it possible to complete the game? I kept playing and the levels started to repeat themselves.
Anyways these were all acceptable bugs for a Jam game, you made a really nice game in the time, well done!
Great job, really nice lighting and art, satisfying animations and SFX. My only question is I couldn't tell between the normal attack and the long range attack, was I missing something? Good mood too and a lot of content and polish for a Compo game!
@azagaya oh right I see, I was holding left click and then holding right click and nothing was happening, that would have helped if I got that right :D
Good job, I liked the stat readouts and that you added several different sea creatures, it's a really nice concept. You could try enabling "shade smooth" in blender on the models to create a rounder look with less polygons if that's your intention, like for the squid seamonster things shell or the submarine. Also it might be nice to apply impulses with the movement or direction/have damping on the movement and rotation so that when you press a movement it doesn't stick on constantly until you cancel it, that type of control feels a little less intuitive than it moving slightly and then slowing down and stopping when you release the key. Good job though!
Nice atmospheric music, the sprites were nice and the lighting created a really nice mood. The cracking glass was a nice touch. The controls were a little difficult and that combined with the hitboxes of the walls made it a little difficult, but it's a really nice game, well done.
It looks cool, and it's a cool idea but man is it hardcore. It just takes too many hits to kill enemies and they're too fast, and you fall between levels too quickly to dodge spikes, I guess you're supposed to remember where the spikes are but then the eyes come for you anyways. Nice entry though, I just wish I could progress through it.
Wow beautiful. Amazing art, satisfying SFX and mechanics, perfect difficulty and level design, with great introduction of new mechanics. It was a joy to play, I will definitely be playing again.
Oh yeah and I love the way the helmet pings off when you die.
Perfect length, felt like lots of content. You made it look great and feel really atmospheric with the lighting and those fish come flying out of the darkness at you. You did a great job of making the harpooning satisfying. The backflip animation at the start was a nice touch. It would be nice to have music to make it even more atmospheric. Very nice
Nice tiny little game, I love the ASCII style, really minimal and beautiful.
Great job, a fun little escape room game, definitely enough content, felt like lots of backstory and things to uncover, well done! Also good simple graphics and nice music. The only question I have is what the Comp PW numbers on the scrumpled up pieces of paper meant, I never found a use for them, were they just a decoy?
Nice clean art style, simple concept well executed.
Nice little game, simple and well done. I was confused for a second when the bubbles didn't damage me but then I realised they were bubbles.
Well done making that in just a day. It was a really cool concept surprisingly intuitive to play (I failed miserably on my first go but got to 75 on my third go), I just wish I could have watched the crowd change colours as I played cause they looked awesome but I was too busy keeping the balance. I have no idea how you made the crowd do their thing, very cool!
Man this game is awesome. I got far too addicted to getting to the top of the leader board. I think this is the first game where I've actually ever made it to the top :tada: It's really simple, challenging and fun. I love the art mix between the lovely pixel art bg and the voxel truck, it works perfectly, great job!
Haha those poor horses. The enemy opponent was surprisingly good at this game. I really enjoyed it, it's fun, simple and funny. Who doesn't love ragdolls? I really like the music too, it was kind of Aphex Twin like.
Wow this was a beautiful little game! A nice little bite sized experience, with really beautiful minimalist art which I loved. I really liked the little touches where the narrative and animation crossed over into the gameplay, like when it was "you can't move" you couldn't move, and when the little orb pulled you up to reach the text. Really nice and out of the box thinking. I totally disagree with the above comment from @hadik I think it looked amazing, it wasn't particularly fun, and it clearly wasn't supposed to be :/ I loved it!
It's a great concept and a very cute game. The art is beautiful and the sound design is good too. I think as others have said it is quite difficult with the movement and puzzles sometimes because the movement can be a bit unpredictable, but that said you did a great job! By the way, why is she so afraid of cats?! --- Ok I had got stuck before writing this comment. Just went back and tried again and completed it this time. Really clever mechanics, the mood swings, the herding cats, it's brilliant. I would be angry if a cat stole my Bao :D
What a great game. Lovely concept, really beautiful art and challenging gameplay. I really feels polished! The movements and animations feel great, the only thing I was craving was a bit more juice to the slime punching and killing. Really great game though!
Really nice concept really well delivered. It was pretty chilled, with just the right amount of challenge. The graphics looked nice, the music was good, the only thing I would say is that the wind indicators sometimes drew over each other and it was a little busy, and they also obscured where the plants were a little, but it wasn't a problem really. I got to 73 days.
I managed a record profit of $3 it took me ages to get in the positive. I don't think I should take up waiting anytime soon. Just nice, fun and light-hearted, with a good measure of frustration thrown in.
@drtizzle thank you so much, I'm really glad you enjoyed it!
@jakobthequizguy thanks very much, yeah I would have liked to make a parallax background for sure.
@slimmerburger I'm glad you found the controls intuitive, I was worrying about that part!
@wafflesys Thank you so much, that's really nice to hear. What was the dialogue you kept hearing? The "Fixed web audio" was just that when I first published the game the HTML5 build was completely broken with audio and physics not working.
@maksim-chugunov thank you very much!
@c1fr1 thank you, yeah I was thinking about adding checkpoints but wasn't sure if that would change the dynamic too much and I ran out of time to implement them anyways :laughing:
@o-sim thanks so much, yeah I totally agree with that, I was thinking about shortening the map or adding checkpoints but time got away from me. Thanks for playing!
@momo-hunter great glad to hear it was relaxing
@lucavazz thanks very much!
@badmuchachob thank you so much!
@brusnika thanks, yeah I was *heavily inspired* by Satie with the music :D
@gdman Thank you!
@laurawilkinson thanks, glad you liked it. Sorry the voice over was surprising, it felt a bit awkward recording it but I wanted to copy GOI and have narration :)
@lereveur Thanks so much for giving it a go! I think that checkpoints or something would have made dying a bit less tedious.
@destroyertech thank you so much, I really appreciate it!
@destroyertech @wafflesys there seems to be a bug where the narration "So what's happened there is you've fallen over..." plays repeatedly when you die. This is only supposed to play on your first death so sorry about that, I'm sure that would be pretty annoying.
@drtizzle @jakobthequizguy @slimmerburger @wafflesys @maksim-chugunov @c1fr1 @o-sim @momo-hunter @lucavazz @badmuchachob @brusnika @gdman @laurawilkinson @lereveur @destroyertech Sorry to ping you all but I've just found and fixed the bug where the narration that should only play the first time you die was playing repeatedly. Sorry for whoever was effected, that must have been quite annoying. It is fixed now though :sweat_smile: which would mean there is an extra narration line that you can hear if you never got past that first one, also there is some narration that plays if you go the wrong way.
@evokesoul thank you very much!
@wafflesys no problem at all, I'm glad you didn't find it too off-putting!
@rosypenguin thank you very much! BTW I absolutely loved "Deepest Sword", looking forward to trying your game for this jam!
@freeworld thank you so much, that's really lovely to hear!
@strega thank you so much!
@aeveis thank you very much, yeah those ponds always catch me out too!
@valiantsugar thank you!
Thanks so much @lilkrit !
@rjmarzec Thanks very much, yeah I would definitely change that respawn system so you don't have to go all the way back
It's beautiful and fun and feels really well polished. You made the controls feel good and juicy, just as others have said the falling rocks are too fast to dodge, either them falling slower or having some indication like a shadow of where they are going to fall would really help. Great job!
The graphics are beautiful, I love the way PICO-8 games look. The parallax was cool too. I get that you were trying to make it difficult but because of the small size it was almost impossible to travel faster than the speed from one or two key presses, which is a shame because it felt amazing when you were travelling faster. I'm not sure how you could change that because the viewport is so small though and so asteroids just come out of nowhere. But yeah I really enjoyed it, loved the sounds (except for the kinda ear destroyer when you get to the blue target) and look of the game, great job!
Pretty cool. It's an interesting concept and kinda scary at times. The camera could do with a bit of tweaking but other than that it's a really cool little world you made, there's an interesting aesthetic, some of the animations look awesome and it's pretty funny you have to shoot the monsters in the knees and then they limp.
Brilliant it gives me some burnout meets goat simulator vibes. Pretty funny and satisfying. I like that you can blow up a car with a cookie. I'm not sure why but the audio was only playing for me when I went right to the mouth of the tunnel, then I could hear the "beep beep" "I'm a car" audio which is pretty funny. Nice job
You did a great job with making an expressive character. The game is fun and it is a challenge to multitask shooting the enemies and balance. Great job!
Nice job, we both had unicycle inspiration! :) The game graphics look nice and the concept is cool, but it is a little difficult to control the unicycle, maybe because you aren't able to control pedalling and balance at the same time, and also I think because we are looking backwards at the unicycle I kept on getting my sideways leaning mixed up. It was fun though, well done.
Nice game, the car controller and camera took a second to get used to but they were cool, and by the last level the only thing I would say about about the car controller is that when you reverse it should steer the opposite direction, the drift is fun though. I like the way sphere car controllers feel, did you use Kenney's one as a base? The jump at the end was a nice touch! Also at one point my car got tipped up and when the engine exploded I flew off into the sky, that was pretty fun and I got the see the HDRI you used :D
@stanroy nice, I can blame kenney for the reverse then :D
Very interesting concept, the graphics made it a little bit unclear what to do and where to go, also the invisible walls, but I enjoyed it, good job!
Awesome game, it feels really polished and tight, it looks great, it's satisfying to play, the tutorial is really good and the audio is great. It's just a shame I suck at it :D
Really cool game, nice chill mood, lot's of puns and funny text. The art was cool, the contracts look great. How did you get that awesome custom loading screen with Godot? Unfortunately the soundtrack sounded awesome but I had some typical Godot audio glitchyness. (Did you try using ogg for the soundtrack / latest version / increasing the output latency / threads?) I struggled with level 3 and couldn't beat it unfortunately, it would be nice if you got the money back when deleting something after placing it down. Yeah very cool game though.
Very cool. It's a great concept and it was well thought out. It felt polished and fun. It looked nice too! I also had a unicycle idea for the theme, I guess it's a popular idea.
Awesome game, really beautiful, fun and satisfying! Unfortunately I got stuck on the level with the double canons but yeah I really enjoyed it. it was a novel and fun game concept.
Nice platformer, the idea of using canons was pretty fun and the glitches were an interesting dynamic too. It would be nice to have some feedback about the charging of the cannons as I couldn't tell how far I was going to get fired. Nice job!
So bizarre, I love it. The gallop animation is majestic and then the horse just ragdolls. Perfect.
Nice one, I loved ski free and enjoyed this too, those wish there was a yeti that came and ate you if you fell over. Never mind. Good job!
Nice one! Compared to the pre-build that I tried you definitely did great with the level design and ratcheted up the difficulty, it felt well balanced but still challenging. The end bit with the missile turrets was intense. The mechanic of the falling away ground was a really cool thing because it forces you to run and gun but you have to be more careful about how you strafe. It would be nice to have a little animation or something when you die, but I can't complain too much, I didn't have a death animation in my entry either. A reloading indicator would be nice too, maybe being able to fire more quickly and adding a bit more heft or juice to firing would be good, also making the missile turrets take a bit less damage would be cool. Also I kind of missed the scary charging tanks from the pre-build. But yeah it was fun little run and gun!
Great job for your first time! It wasn't such a crowded city after my first run :eyes: It was really cool that you added multiple endings, though I wish the end text was slower or I had to click through it like at the start. The pedestrian ai was pretty cool, though I think they were biased towards the bottom left as a crowd ended up there :) The shooting sound / kill sound was a bit glitchy. Nice job though!
@destroyertech it was just that the shoot/death sound was a bit intense and crackly, and then if I shot multiple people at once it seemed to stack and become more crackly. So when I got to the bottom and shot like 10 in a row it was a bit much for my ears :D but honestly these are all only minor complaints!
Good job with the visuals! It would be nice to have some instructions even just written on the itch page. It was super hard to get the boxes to the cauldron! It would be really nice to have something happen when you deliver them to make you feel good, like a sound or particle effect. Good job though!
Wow this was great, I loved it. It's a great spin on pinball. The destructions were great and I loved the way the trees bounced back! I didn't understand why the ball was speeding up until I realised it was a pinball game. Great dialogue and some nice touches in there. Awesome!
Very cool, trippy and abstract, it would fit being an art piece tbh. I like the glitch effects. Nice one!
Great concept. On my first attempt I lost 20 Villagers but on my second I realised that I should be placing all the tiles I could each turn. Once I did that I managed to save everyone. It would be nice if the boarding mechanic was more interactive or obvious, but you said you ran out of time, and despite that you managed to make a game which works as a complete piece. Nice job!
Wow I love this entry! Just the jet mode on it's own would be a fun and well put together jam game in my books, but the fact you also made a complicated strategy game on top of that is incredible. I love the art style, the sfx, the jet mode felt amazing, you have good ai and world generation. It gave me real openTTD vibes (especially the place names and news alerts), which is one of my favourite games ever so well done! My only small gripes would be that it was too slow to get an economy going initially (at least for me trying to play a bunch of jam games) as I could never afford a rail system from a factory to a city from the get go. Also the train stations were only one directional and tracks and stations wouldn't then update after I built them correctly so that was a little frustrating. Unfortunately the game kept crashing on me once I started to make some progress so I couldn't see the full scope of it. Please let me know if you manage to fix that as I would love to play it fully.
Very cool and unconventional idea. Fun reaction tester, I feel like I could do this as brain training :D Well done!
Really nice concept, fun little game! Nice little pathfinding algorithm torture tester. That is one stubborn ship, but I have a pretty stubborn ship in my game too!
Good job! A tower defence game fits the theme down to the ground. There's something addictive about a tower defence game that kept me playing.
@webox thanks very much! yep the levels were generated randomly, but it was too laggy to do that when you load the game, so I pre-generated about ten different levels and pick randomly from them. Yeah a leaderboard would definitely be a good addition.
Thanks very much! @jhax @purpledartfrog yep that's a good point, the documents mechanic could use a bit of work.
@angelicad @hekateras thank you for playing!
@lereveur wow £68k is pretty impressive! I never got that far. Whoops I'm sorry the net disappeared, apparently there is a vertex limit of 4096 for a line2D in Godot. Thanks for letting me know, I'll try and patch that! Thanks very much for playing and for the feedback!
@lereveur the engine has an option to increase the polygon buffer. How much longer do you think it would be possible to keep going with your strategy, do you think doubling the limit would be enough that it would never be reached?
@lereveur thanks but don't worry I managed to fix it by spawning a new line polygon when nearing the buffer limit, so it will never disappear. Thanks for letting me know about this!
@korfi wow that's an impressive score! Good job you didn't make it to £0 really because it would have been rather anti climactic, nothing would have happened :D maybe I should have made it possible and made the ship stop chasing you then, but let's just say it is "inevitable" that you have to pay some tax :D thanks for playing!
@theludovyc yep they always start a the top middle of the map. I should probably have added some indicator, or a radar for when they're off screen and maybe randomly set their position. Thanks for playing!
@jdemattos @tinykidtoo @conduit-games @eonarheim @ffffchai @iambaangkok @dzejpi @arihan10 Thanks all for playing my game and for the kind words and feedback!
Super cute with devilishly hard platforming. I really enjoyed it and thought it was cute, a great premise and well made, but that style of platforming and that level of difficulty was a bit much for me, so I couldn't finish it. Great entry though!
I faced a weird bug in the web version where loads of snowmen would spawn initially and then instantly explode and it would be gameover in a shower of blood :D pretty funny though. I reloaded the face and it worked fine. Nice little game. It gave me a chuckle when the cover art was all serious and sinister and then my mouse cursor popped in with just a big carrot :D Good job!
Beautiful and really interesting concept. Something about the setting of the game made the simple idea of reading other peoples messages really fun. I did get quite a few duplicate messages though, as others have said that would be nice to patch.
Good job managing to capture the rush and panic like no other. Fun game, funny premise, lots of detail, huge amount of work, massive map, great Easter eggs. I really enjoyed it, but I did find the movement system a little annoying at times, especially getting through doors, and having random kids jump out at you :D A minimap / some greyed out icons of what needs to be found would help the player along a bit, helping them know what to do, though having to explore whilst needing to go is quite funny. The text popups were a little buggy. Great job though this was a fun one!
Nice job, fun idea and well executed! You made the rockets move in a really cool way. If you worked on the game in the future you could try adding some juice and tweak the character movement a bit to improve the game feel even more.
Nice game, it looks great and you managed to make a nice little game loop with some fun feeling attacks, good animations. A nice jam-sized game.
This is an amazing entry, definitely my favourite so far. It's funny, has great art, awesome music and SFX, the platforming feels great and the chin ledge grab is a nice little twist to give it some uniqueness. I couldn't quite finish the level where you meet Carl. I got stuck at the point where she is shooting stars at you, and I'm pretty sure you needed to go from a ledge grab and do a double jump to get round the ledge, but that wasn't possible. There was loads of content though, it was amazing, and you really flexed by having a minigame within your jam game. The rhythm game was too difficult for me to hit many notes, but I still had plenty of time on the clock, and the difficulty of the platforming generally was perfect.
@kepsert ah yeah I managed to beat that bit now!
Great job guys this is a really good and fun first jam game! The concept is good and it plays well, you made a huge map that I was never able to explore fully, the mechanics worked well and fit the theme great. The platforming could be a little smoother, more feedback, like when you die for example would be good, but crouch jumping being a platforming mechanic gave me nice Half life nostalgia. Overall the art was good, only the fire obstacles could be a bit clearer. Great job though, I had fun!
Good job, solid entry! Physics, sinking mechanic, and the way the boat starts rocking when you drink lots of rum were all cool. (though I do feel motion sick now) The way everything was put together was really well done, but the actually gameplay was a little on the grindy side, and it would nice for there to be indications oh how many times each thing needed to be done to complete the level. I believe there was a bit of a bug where the deck was a bit flooded and I picked up a bucket there was no way to put it down again and complete my drinking rum task. Also I guess it was a little mistake that the text said "Death comes to us all" when you are victorious. Great job though, well done!
Very cool game, fun and well polished. The way you added the different combinations in made it that bit more interesting. My only small negatives are that I would prefer it if the camera didn't zoom in quite as much when you get a jump, so I can see the next object to jump off of, if sideways movement was slightly faster, or the jumpable objects were more evenly distributed across the level so you don't get stuck in a path of just falling. Great game though, one of my favourites that I've played so far!
Great concept, lovey art and good audio. The gameplay was a bit too difficult for me, maybe less slimes spawning, and them moving slower would help me :) also maybe having a different button than K for shoot might be nice as well, but not exactly a big problem, also if the coolant was picked up rather than levitating towards you that might be nice too. Very well done though I enjoyed it.
I love a good cooking game. This took me back to my days working in Mc Donalds... fun times (not). Great game, really polished, like shockingly polished. Gave me vibes of the top quality flash games that I used to play. I like how you added some challenges, like the deluxe and orders that could just be written as a menu item, like a #1 with cheese for example. When you make a mistake, like I did on the fifth level, it really goes wrong quickly! Funny ending too. Great job!
Very nice! Relaxing maze game - I enjoyed the music and SFX, and the little firefly particle effect was lovely! Good job!
So good! The art is lovely, and this is a super clever puzzle platformer, great idea with the seed mechanics. Those mechanics seem like you have the potential to make tonnes of complex and interesting levels. The only thing I would say with the levels in the game is that it would be nice to have an overview at the start or an indicator of where the final goal is when off screen so you can work out how to solve it instead of having to try and find it first, then work out how to solve it. Really like this game though, one of my favourites from the jam so far!
Great game, fun to play and looks great! The ships maybe turn a little too quickly and made me feel a little dizzy and the cannon balls could maybe move faster relative to the ships but I had a good time and it was an impressive game!
space harvest.jpg I'm not sure I could have got much closer, yet I still didn't seem to be able to harvest the fruit. Fair enough though if you weren't able to implement that in time, the rest of the game was super impressive! The camera controls and the ship control were awesome, they felt great to use, and the sense of space was really good. The final harvest bit was a bit confusing and I kept colliding with the planet but great job on the rest of it!
Cool game, great job on the art and sfx. There was a tonne of content and the level up menu was good. I think it could do with little bit more to guide the player and maybe more polish / juice and less content might be good, but you did a great job and made a huge amount in the time, well done!
Wow this game is so good! Really fun and satisfying to play and looks stunning. How did you make the crop shader!? Also the effect when you go from one pattern to the next is awesome.
Wow this is one of my favourites of the jam so far. Super fun and compelling, great to look at and listen to, satisfying... I played till level 30 :sweat_smile:
Awesome, I like that you did a 5 devs inspired jam, I bet that was a lot of fun! The game looks great and is fun. There's a tonne going on, the combine harvester feels fun to drive, the farmer and dog have good ai, there are some nice particle fx, and the gathering and depositing feel pretty satisfying. The mines thrown in there add another layer to the gameplay, that maybe could have made my game a bit more fun too. I did find it a little difficult to see the mines though and also it might be nice to add a little warning to say when the time is nearly up. Great job guys!
Wow great job this is awesome. Such a strong mood, good world-building, great job with the audio, great music, sfx and narration! The graphics look good and the particle fx and especially the screen effect when getting irradiated is brilliant. The way the floor falls through is great and you definitely managed to create the fear when you've fallen and your radiation levels are going up like mad. Can't believe this is a compo game!
"donk" Awesome game, super fun. Satisfying to drift and harvest. I really like time based driving games and I had to keep playing till I beat your score. I got down to 1:40 :P I realised the timer keeps going after you finish a level so I was smashing that space bar :D Great art and audio, really nice complete, well sized game.
This is an awesome game - fun and chilled, satisfying to play and engaging. I played for ages and got to 159 days :tada: There is a good amount of variation in the cards and there were a few different strategies you could use. I didn't 100% understand the water left and restore water mechanic and I wasn't sure if the remove card from deck was always working but I really enjoyed it, great job!
@ursagames thanks for playing! yeah good idea, I should have made it 90% or something. I also wanted to make it so you have to deposit grain in the silo once you reach a certain amount, which might have encouraged flying a bit more, but of course I ran out of time 😅
@candlesan thank you very much for playing and for the nice feedback. Yeah there should be SFX, like engine sounds and refueling sounds. No music though. It might need turning up?
@merdeboi ah yeah I realised that I forgot to add collision to the extra terrain pieces around the central plane 😬 Thanks very much for playing!
@terracottafrog thanks very much for the feedback, those are some good ideas!
@eranot thanks mate! Yeah I would have liked to make the plane crash when you hit the ground, I was just worried it would be too tedious or frustrating
@smilewood oh no, so close but get so far! Thanks very much for playing and for the feedback!
Wow this is such a great concept, it would make a great educational game. There was a tonne of work that had gone into this, I don't know how you managed to pull it off as a compo game! The growing minigame was a little bit stressful and maybe some more feedback or making it a bit slower would have helped. The art looked great and there were a tonne of easter-eggs to find with the scarecrow and dog ect. The final story construction was brilliant. Great job!
Good job, the game looks good and the movement and throwing feels good!
Good job, the game plays decently, I got a little sick when things sped up though but I'm not sure how you could avoid that. Some juice would be nice but considering this was a compo game and your first time using unity you did a great job and made a fun game with a lot of features like procgen, sfx, highscoring, menus ect.
Very cool entry, I love the pencil drawn aesthetic! The SFX are satisfying too.
Well done, this is super impressive as a compo game, the finished art looks great and there are a tonne of different parts to the game - even a tutorial and sfx. However I found some parts of the game loop - mainly the picking up and using of items a bit frustrating - like having to do unnecessary steps like pick up the basket each time and throw away the seeds after planting, also having to click when near something instead of pressing a button. Amazing you managed to add so much to the game though, the cars and the ordering, the growth stages, all seem really nice and polished, well done!
Well done, this was a good concept. The agent pathfinding and view was good. The actual crop destruction was a bit finicky and unsatisfying. Good job with SFX and art!
Good job, the pixel art is nice and so is the music. It's a fun game to play, I like the terrain destroying. The bullets should be a lot faster and maybe kill in one hit, also it would be good to know which direction the gun is pointing, maybe by using a top down sprite, instead of a side on one. The beetle ai is well done!
Absolutely love it, such good fun, challenging and quick and a nice small well polished game. Also that song rocks.
Wow, really great game, a bit hard and impenetrable but if it was more fleshed out and had a tutorial I would play the crap out of this. really polished and so detailed for the time frame. great style, great audio.
Really great, great concept and well executed. Of course the gameplay is limited but for a jam game it is great, very polished, and good fun for ten minutes. Never thought a golf moba would be a thing so very pleased it is a good thing.
I love it, really cute and relaxing, if it was made into a full game I would totally play it. Nice concept and very nice watercolour art. It isn't super easy to play but ah well.
Really great idea, perfectly fits the theme and was very well pulled off. Nice graphics but there was a few bugs, and the audio was a bit painful at times but I'm just nitpicking. Great but hard as nails.
Good, a well polished small game but wow it's hard :D
Interesting, quite hard controls and quite un-intuitive gameplay but nonetheless when you get the hang of it it's a fun little game that fits the theme quite well.
Cool concept, kinda goofy movement and models but yeah it's definitely terrifying when that combine locks on to you.
Wow, this game is amazing, I love the style and it's genuinely fun and seems extremely polished.
Great concept. Being chased around by a crowd of assorted foodstuffs is pretty scary. The UI is not so great but the gameplay is really cool, although it seems quite hard to make a recipe.
I like it a lot, the bossa nova is great, the concept is great, of course it's not polished but there are some parts like the audio and UI that are nice and polished. Pretty funny and a great Jam game.
You really did a good job of following the theme, it is definitely two very different genres and I like the theme but it is very difficult to play, very hard to control the car. Otherwise the graphical theme and the music are very good.
Darn, thank you for letting me know! It's fixed now.
Thanks, yeah I didn't get time to polish it so it has a few rough edges.
Yeah I agree, definitely something I wanted to add in but didn't have the time.
Thank you, yeah sorry the wire selection is pretty bad and there are definitely a few bugs but thank you for playing. I will need to get the translations checked by natives.
Really good, I had this same idea when the theme was announced but 'chickened' out. I thought it was well delivered, a fun little game with a good amount of content and nice style.
Love it, a fun little game that looks gorgeous!
With only 4-8hrs that is really good but if this Ludum Dare has taught me anything its that I suck at rhythm games. I found it tricky and couldn't play it for longer than 30 seconds but it was good. Like how it looks.
This game is absolutely awesome, really genuinely a good fun polished game, let alone a Jam game! So good, the fell, the art, the gameplay, audio all 10/10
Really great, great concept that really well combines two incompatible genres. Fells fairly polished and complete.
