Art and sound are great but I'm having a little trouble understanding how to actually play and what the nets do and such.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD49 → A bad day to harvest

Thanks for the feedback! I'll add a tutorial on the itch page!!
Game looks and sounds superb. I'm still not sure what I'm meant to be doing though, even with the tutorial. Am I meant to be putting nets over the top of my crops? That's all I seem to be doing haha. Is them exploding a good thing or a bad thing?
Very impressed though! One of my favourites I've seen so far :)
This looks like a great experience, got to head to sleep, but will return tomorrow to play this!
Cool game! I like the concept, but it could have a little more particle effects.
Exploding crops? You have my whole-hearted approval.
This was a solid implementation of a card driven strategy game. The choice between movement and net placement provided a good level of tension. In addition, the next card I needed was always absent from my current hand, bringing just the right level of frustration with fate.
The overall scoring mechanism and resource counting wasn't obvious to me, so I don't really know what winning or losing the game looks like, but I enjoyed harvesting (i.e. exploding) my crops as I got the opportunity.
Really love the pixel art, the music fits the mood and the game idea is interesting, but I failed to be good at it and died of hunger, scoring only 395. The wind mechanic, the limited movement and the cards was a nice feature.
Cute art style, but the game is so confusing
Really nice concept really well delivered. It was pretty chilled, with just the right amount of challenge. The graphics looked nice, the music was good, the only thing I would say is that the wind indicators sometimes drew over each other and it was a little busy, and they also obscured where the plants were a little, but it wasn't a problem really. I got to 73 days.
Me gusta mucho el gameplay, con el pixel art que se junta muy bien a la musica y el sonido del juego!
Awesome game, love the simple but beautiful art. Can't believe you made all this in so short time! Great work.
Cool little game! I got a high score of 563! I found the arrows overlapping eachother really frustrating, as it made it very difficult to tell where the next one was coming from. Additionally, sometimes the game glitched and let me overlap things, which was nice, but I don't think it was what you were going for.
Fun game, great art!
beautiful visuals! great game i loved it.. adjustments to the rng might be considered.. not a must since i did figure out how to strategize eventually.
just my thoughts
- if there is a chance for me to get hit.. i think i need means to recover health too - also it kinda wasn't obvious enough that i was losing lives
but those are not musts i believe this game is pretty complete and serene loved it
@magnusfurcifer @pavocado @c64cosmin @devparty @thepelranthean @federico-giorgi @weirdybeardyman @nardandas @schuster @potkirland Thanks a lot for the feedback, it served a great purpose, and the game got updated if you want to give it ago!!
@azagaya @pilar-hidalgo @gamedevtraum @luca-dante-delli-carpini @andresbochi Gracias :raised_hands: !! Me alegro que les haya gustado, lo updatee para que llegue a lo que realmente quería hacer y para que se entienda mejor lo que estas haciendo jaja. Si lo quieren probar, son bienvenidos!
This is a pretty elaborate game, took me a while to get the hang of it! I really like the turn based aspect, that there isn't a time pressure and I can take my time deciding what the best next move is. I'm not sure I managed to successfully stop a climate event using a net, but I think that was just me misunderstanding how you're supposed to use nets.
Overall, very unique game idea with pretty good execution too. The art style does a lot with very little, creating a consistent aesthetic that really fits the climate-apocalypse theme you were going for. Great job!
Really neat game; I'd love to see if you can integrate the prevention of disasters more into the experience. The easier it is to avoid them, the harsher the penalty can be for failing to do so.
@joeshanahan thanks a lot for the feedback, I'm supre glad you liked the art too :D I love doing 16x16 it presents an interesting challenge and it's easier than higher resolutions
@bluishgreenpro Thanks a lot for the interview mate!! I loved chatting about the game and how it can be improved, it really created a nice discussion environment. Thanks again for playing and streaming!
Alright let's break it down:
Things I didn't like: - Lot's of things relied purely on luck, especially with the directional wind stoppers, some way to influence this luck would've made it feel more fair - Crop growth stage wasn't telegraphed well - Movement system felt a little restrictive most of the time, especially with the bias towards vertical cards, if you have 3 movement cards chances are good at least one of them is a vertical card and one of them is horizontal, so why have the cards in the first place? Just make movement cost one turn. - It seemed to bug out that if I tried to place something outside of where it should be I would lose my turn and/or it would actually place
Things I liked! - Art style was consistent and pleasing - Music was simple, but satisfying - Gameplay was simplistic on the outside, eg easy to learn hard to master - Gameplay was innovative
This was a neat little game, keep it up!
_Survived for 97 days and got a score of 454! :smiley:_
This is a pretty unique interpretation of the theme. Mechanically interesting and thought provoking. Graphics were rather minimal, but aesthetically pleasing and fit the mood of the game. Similar story with the music. The different cards provided enough room for strategy without being too overwhelming, though the randomness of the crop spreading seemed a bit harsh given you're already fighting the randomness of the wind and cards. I think having that be predictable wouldn't hurt the gameplay and would eliminate one source of frustration for the player (but of course, that's just a suggestion).
Overall, pretty solid entry!
I've uploaded my playthrough to YouTube, if you'd like to check it out it's here!

Well done game. The art style is nice and clean. The music is pleasant to the ears and in-game mechanics are interesting. There is big unbalance between cards that allows player to move up-down and cards that allows to move left-right (maybe it was done on purpose). That make movement really hard to plan. Even with this I got to day 62, and it does not look like I was even close to loosing. Maybe the difficulty ramps up at some point, but the game start to be a bit repetitive. Anyway, awesome job with the game. Really impressive work for just one person in only 48h!
really fun idea clean and cool art and music was very calming and I survived for 45 days , 379 score overall great job for 48 hours :yum:
Excellent game concept! Liked the art and the rules was easy to follow. I enjoyed the strategy element and did better and better each after each run.
