The link to the game doesn't work for me

cristinemrak 2020-04-20 10:25

@patrickjr I put another link there if you still want to try it

artylo 2020-04-20 13:52

Really good! The whole thing felt a bit futile, considering you get only 5 pollen per flower and the queen loses a lot more health than that in the time it takes to gather it, so the guitar music made it feel quite somber. Maybe put the controls in the instructions on the main menu rather than having them as you are flying. Thanks for making this!

congusbongus 2020-04-20 13:55

Cool theme! Not sure if it's just me but the queen loses health way too quickly! There's no way to keep her alive for long

soarendev 2020-04-20 13:56

Really chill game^^

Just to mention, I got two little bugs during my run: - The "black screen" you use to do the transition between the queen's room and the world isn't scaled to screen resolution. I play on a resolution higher than 1920*1080, so I only had a funny black rectangle poping at the center of my screen x) - Sometimes, after collecting a flower, my camera was offset (the bee was, for example, at the bottom left of the screen).

Anyway, no matter those little bugs, great job there! (And I liked how you took the time to make an intro dialogue with the queen x) )

I like the story of your game, it's fit completely with the theme. The idea is cool and pretty well done ! Music is calm and relax

Great job !

rirdeg 2020-04-20 13:57

Good game, has a real sombre mood to it. The flight mechanics are fun, impressed with what you managed to accomplish within the time limit. That guitar track just adds to the atmosphere of the game brilliantly. Great job.

pincushion 2020-04-20 14:01

The game has a hidden control -> the shift key doubles the speed! Without this modifier, the game is really short. With it, I can do a few rounds.

I liked the concept and flying around was fun. I liked seeing the pollen cling to the bees - that's a nice touch.

I wasn't sure if there would be a goal or end. I like to feel like I'm working toward something.

There were a few bugs (pun not intended): - The game didn't scale well to my monitor (3440x1440 / 21:9), and I don't think that there was an option to play in Windowed mode. KIA-ultrawide.png - There's a big black square that appears centered on the screen during transitions.

Thats for sure a greedy queen! I like your look, Its not much but its nicely put together, also the detail pollen that your bee get is a nice detail. Its a relaxing game that's somehow extremely sad ^^ maybe that's the music in the background? Or the dead trees in the world. did you play this guitar track? If you would do it again (Im sure you know way more things to do better etc.) but I would leave the inside of the bee hive out and concentrate more on the core game. You can see on the default buttons how rushed you where in the end putting everything together. Im somehow wondering how you managed to play such calm music for the game though :) Its a nice game.

weirdybeardyman 2020-04-20 14:09

A good little game, I love the sound effects and the music is good, it would be a little easier to control if the camera rotated around the bee, but great concept and some charming art.

cristinemrak 2020-04-20 16:20

Thanks for the support and the good critics, yes I didnt know the resolution was a thing,I will be more cautios for the next games

duck-reaction 2020-04-20 16:39

Nice little game, it's cute, I like the music and it's good to have some VFX when you take pollen

leyamez 2020-04-20 16:54

I thought about using bees for my game as well, definitely went a different route in the end.. but I like how you used the concept :) Very fun game, with only a couple bugs I found, other than the bees.

saviqq 2020-04-20 18:27

Wow really beautiful background music, it kinda made me little sad as I knew I had to heal the queen and wasn't able to. Also interesting take on graphics, little change from usual pixel-art entries. Nice work in 48 hour period

immortalitybh 2020-04-20 22:11

insert bee movie comment here

timo-strating 2020-04-20 22:15

The mirror seemed to work. But i could not extract the rar file using unrar or 7zip on linux. Maybe its just a linux thing. but as a tip use .zip next time that format is naively supported on all Operating Systems.

thaniel 2020-04-20 22:21

I love your approach to the theme but I think the game could use a little compass feature to guide you or maybe a mini hand holding tutorial at the beginning as I was a little confused at the start. But good game, it's the best 3D game I've seen on LD46 so far. (Also, for next time, post your game files on itch.io, a lot of people have some bad experience with MEGA)

joleon 2020-04-20 22:42

I really want to try this out, but itch link doesn't work. Will there be an in-browser build available later?

irwatts 2020-04-20 23:19

Haunting music and charming bees!

cristinemrak 2020-04-21 00:16

@joleon hey,since then I struggled to make it in-browser: https://cristinemrak.itch.io/keep-it-alive

anchoredtoad 2020-04-21 01:34

Save the bees! Music is chill and the graphics are nice. The idea is really cool too, it's very chill to play. I think I'd like more things attempting to obstruct me though.

joleon 2020-04-21 08:39

@cristinemrak The link leads to 404 page. Have you marked it as public?

cristinemrak 2020-04-21 10:31

@joleon now it's public, damn there are so many little things I need to be cautios about :)).

bereg 2020-04-21 12:39

Great bee simulator. I really like the idea. The control scheme could be more fluid, it would be great to be able to change pitch/roll. Now it's a little bit hard to navigate.

draedrus 2020-04-21 12:42

I had troubles with the game inputs as I am using an azerty French keyboard, that aside, I don't like the controls that much but love the overall idea. I did not get far enough but it seems to be quite the same action all the time, is there any other mechanics than go and retrieve ? Like events or somewhat. Also I think that putting the score all the time and not only at the end could be nice. But as I read the comments I see I probably missed a lot of things so I might review my review :D

draedrus 2020-04-21 13:22

Oh I forgot to mention, I had issues with the windowed mode in html5, not all the menu was present, it was ok on fullscreen though

bigquacko 2020-04-21 20:52

Great concept overall, but I did find the controls tricky to use. I also had some issues with the UI on the web version, but going to full screen fixed it. Loved the music though!

joleon 2020-04-21 21:33

Pretty interesting concept for a game, and I love bees  I actually found the controls pretty darn intuitive to use. The music and gameplay are pretty relaxing, I think I could zen out with this. It's too bad there's a time constraint, which is pretty impossible to beat even when stressing about it, so my only suggestion would be to make this playable endlessly, without the pressure. Good job

blotosaur 2020-04-22 17:52

I tried the web version. FPS was really choppy. Nice idea and music!

2kah 2020-04-29 10:26

Nice concept, and I really like the music. It made me feel ok with the fact the queen was slowly dying and there wasn't much I could do about it.
