LD46 — Keep it alive

Keep it Alive, Keep them Alive by jeremyfa 2020-04-20T13:57:11Z

Wow this is amazing! Dude I finished you game and I see so much potential for it, I hope you gonna continue working on it. Here are my notes:

**Thing I like** - overall concept and idea is amazing - music adds up atmosphere to the game - mechanics and level design

**Things that could be improved** - Consider option that you can first lay out your movemnt objects and then start the level, it opens up to create beautiful levels and removes click intensive/stressful replacing of tiles - better animation for jumping (maybe instead of jumping some "bridge" will be created

Overall amazing work in 48 hours

Eternal Flame by Galgris 2020-04-20T18:41:28Z

Haha what a nice looking platformer, I played around with it here are some of my notes:

**Things I liked** - art style is epic - level design is very well made with increasing difficulty - very fittting with the theme of LD

**Things that could be improved** - controls felt little bit clunky at times - add more mechanics - polish some SFX

Very nice work in 48 hour period.

Little Sunshine by Bloham 2020-04-20T11:19:14Z

Awesome! This game felt really comfy, here are my notes:

**Things I liked** - very beautiful art - interesting touch with spinning environment - cool idea, fitting the LD theme

**Things that could be improved** - some nice sunshiny background music would improve atmosphere of the game - At times I wasn't really sure if raining/sun had any effect on the flower and her needs very changing unexpectedly

Overall I enjoyed it, you did great job in such short amount of time

The joys of parenthood by IronyGames 2020-04-20T12:29:53Z

Hehe really interesting! I managed to finish the game, here are some of my notes:

**Things I liked** - overall execution and style - different minigames, kept the game interesting and engaging - nice touch with different language translations

**Things that could be improved** - music and sound effect missing, it would add another layer of atmosphere to the game, especially if you choose Singer career path - sometimes it was confusing what's going on on the screen, I think because font was hard to read at times

Overall I feel I did an amazing job in such short while

Dungeon Feeds by PatrickRMC 2020-04-20T18:35:26Z

Wow really nice polished game, here are few notes after messing with it:

**Thins I like** - good game play, interesting mechanics, professional look - fantastic art style - nice sound effects and background loop music

**Things that could be improved** - slow down the spawning of enemies, especially at start before player gets the hang of it - cut tutorial text to smaller pieces and pause gameplay so it is not explained all at once but while you are interacting with different mechanics

Very nick work in such short time

Colony by Swen 2020-04-20T15:29:38Z

Fun game, here are few of my notes:

**Things I liked** - interesting idea and mechanics - decision making when deciding which type of ant to spawn - pixel-art

**Things that could be improved** - add music and sound effect to lighten up atmosphere - new ant types and a buildings - upgrading ants by eating foraged food

Nice work done in 48 hours!

Look After Larry by Untitled Studios 2020-04-20T14:27:54Z

Nice game, I had fun messing with, it may have potential if you gonna continue working on it, here are some of my notes:

**What I liked** - very cool mechanics and overall idea for the game - in spirit of Ludum Dare theme - nice design of levels

**What could be improved** - physics behave funny sometimes, there are few cases where it can be improved - more levels and new mechanics

Overall very nice for 48 hours of work!

Pug Panic by Alex Davies 2020-04-20T12:53:53Z

Wow this game feels so professional. You did amazing job on it here are my notes:

**Things I liked** - art is very beautiful - I love the whole idea about the game, implementation of these windows are very cool - various mechanics are simple enough, but adding them together keeps game challenging and engaging - background music and sound effect add another layer to the atmosphere of the game

**Things that could be improved** - Difficulty of the game could be ramp up after a while, don't get me wrong I like challenging games but maybe keep first 30 seconds more chill until player get used to all mechanics - actually this game doesn't need that much to be released on mobile, just to polish it more, maybe add more mechanics and difficulty levels

Amazing job in such short time!

AliveBirds by ManTou 2020-04-20T14:35:03Z

Hehe fun little game I managed to complete it, here are few of my notes:

**What I liked** - excellent art style and overall feel of the game, it looks like you exactly know how much work you can put into 48 hour period - sound effects - idea works really well with Ludum Dare theme

**What could be improved** - background music on the loop for better game atmosphere - when you are away from birdies notification always shows middle bird even that others are hungry, change pop-up based on which bird is hungry

Good job!

Protect the Walnut! by Eduardo Yukio 2020-04-20T12:16:05Z

I messed around with your game, here are my notes:

**Things I liked** - enjoyable platformer, cool mechanics with Wallnut - challenging controls, added a layer of complexity to the game, made it more interesting - level design

**Things that could be improved** - difficulty ramped up too quickly, don't get me wrong I enjoy challenging games but I felt it get too hard too quickly, I was stuck for a while at first red button and had to learn control mechanics - some background music could improve overall atmosphere of the game

Overall very nice work in such a short time

Robot Tale by Majadroid 2020-04-20T12:00:27Z

This looks very professional. Man let me tell you I played this game for a while as it's very well made, here are my notes:

**Things that I like** - very good execution, from into to the end it felt that someone experienced worked on it - fit to Ludum Dare theme - perfect background music and sound effects - gorgeous art

**Things that could be improved** - As I was moving right game was occasionally stuttering, I feel like it may have something to do with generation of objects? - after a while I figured out that I can just run trough enemies and just pick up med-kits, that made them non-interactive and little bit empty. Maybe add feature that they would drop some loot on kill?

Overall this was one of the better games that I decided to review and I am glad to do it

The Pacifist by AlexFSmirnov 2020-04-20T16:37:16Z

Super interesting game, one of the better ones that took LD theme for a spin. My notes:

**Things I liked** - art style - concept and it's execution - difficulty

**Things that could be improved** - I know you said you didn't have time to add music but that would helped it so much with overall better atmosphere for a game - more enemies with different mechanics

Overall great work in such a short time

Late Medieval Network Engineer by MisterKeefe 2020-04-20T16:22:32Z

Wow this one is a gem! Really liked the game, managed to beat it here are some of my notes:

**Things I liked** - great concept and execution - interesting mechanic and brain teasing

**Things that could be improved** - music and sound effects are really missing in the game so it would add another layer to atmosphere of the game - more "levels" - more types of cards and mechanics with them

Great work, it reminds me EVE Online Exploration data sites

Rent, Please! by sydream 2020-04-20T18:48:24Z

I played with it for a while and here are my notes:

**Things I liked** - fits to LD theme - nice and chill sound effects and background music - art style looks nice

**Things that could be improved** - add more types of plants - increase difficulty with new mechanics - add watering, maybe harevesting to some box and than it can be sold

Nice job in such short time

Block Maze by Lakea 2020-04-20T14:06:50Z

I finished your game and enjoyed getting back under the bed  Here are few of my notes:

**Things I liked** - maze design - interesting mechanics combining solving maze and keeping car moving by collecting gas - art for blocks

**Things that could be improved** - consider adding background music to add atmosphere to the game - add more mechanics and levels

Very nice work in 48 hours.

Protect The Artifact by WillyPa 2020-04-20T15:38:04Z

Fun little game I messed around with it and here are my notes:

**Things I like** - interesting mechanic changing life for boost - cool art and sound effects - implementation of some sort of achievement system

**Things that could be better** - increasing difficulty, currently it's not that hard to play for a very long time, get's repetitive after a while - more achievements - add some background music to improve overall atmosphere Overall nice game for 48 hour period

KIA by CristiNemrak 2020-04-20T18:27:34Z

Wow really beautiful background music, it kinda made me little sad as I knew I had to heal the queen and wasn't able to. Also interesting take on graphics, little change from usual pixel-art entries. Nice work in 48 hour period

Lively Spirit by mailman 2020-04-20T15:47:36Z

Haha funny game, few of my notes:

**Things I liked** - nice concept and mechanics - funky art - design on levels

**Things that could be improved** - some background music for better atmosphere - there is some strange behavior/bug where your human starts stuttering super hard, it happened in level 3, maybe this can be fixed - improve main menu

Nice work in 48 hour time!

Fire Saver by Vollfeiw 2020-04-20T10:48:55Z

Wow! This game is very well executed, I messed around with it and here are my notes:

**What I liked** - brilliant idea, engaging and also fits the Ludum Dare theme - entertaining mechanics, not too complex and keeping the player focused - chill loop music adding the right atmosphere, nice touch with sound effects

**What could be improved** - sometimes interacting with objects were difficult, especially on screen edges - when fire was low it was too dark, this is more of preference but it felt really snow bally. When fire got to certain stage it was difficult to get back because of the dark

Overall this was really well-made game in such a short time. Nice work!

Memes Never Die by James_7777 2020-04-20T16:11:01Z

Such a goofy game, messed around with it, here are few of my notes:

**Things I like** - option to create your own meme at beginning - fits the LD Theme - nice art and sound effects

**Things that could be improved** - multiple streets as "levels" - achievement for finding all citizens, using all poster spots

Nice work in 48 hour period

Flower Defense by Evolving 2020-04-20T10:07:02Z

Hey man! So I think you created really **fun** game, I enjoyed messing with it. Here are my notes on things that I liked / disliked

**Good stuff** - good implementation of Ludum Dare **Theme** - beautiful pixel-art - very cool looking animations (especially grass and water) - interesting mechanic with two types of enemies, - different types of snails, adds variations to game difficulty

**Things that could be improved** - user experience -> the biggest grip for me with the game was that I wasn't sure if goblins did any harm. It felt like I could just ignore it and nothing would happen. I really missed Health Bar for player, but it looked like player couldn't be killed. - I also would like it better if Flower would have some health bar/durability so game won't end the second first snail touches it. - I was missing some sort of _ closure _ to the game, when Snail hit flower than game was over. There could be added UI for score that shows how good player did, how long he managed to Keep Plant Alive and so on - game would feel more natural if there was some background music

Overall I think you did amazing job for such a short time.

Corona Grocery Run by sneakycocoon 2020-04-20T10:31:11Z

Oh boy! This one was super cool and clever. I enjoyed messing with it, here are few notes:

**Things I liked** - cool idea, fitting the theme and also situation in the world - great execution, especially In The News part gave a game nice flavor and made me laugh - easy to understand, simplicity in positive way

**Thing I would improve** - music -> biggest grip that I had with the game was lack of any sound, some background music would add better atmosphere to the game and some sound effect would improve user experience - options felt repetitive after a while, bigger variety would made it more engaging - I felt that In The News was mainly there to add flavor to the game, but it had bigger potential to affect your daily decisions making

Overall I feel this game was very nicely executed, especially in such short time

Metahealer by Strupf 2020-04-20T15:58:10Z

Wow man this is amazing, I really enjoyed this game, it was done really professionally:

**Things I liked** - concept, idea and execution were on point - art was amazing - music and sound effect were very cool addition to overall better atmosphere

**Things that could be improved** - sometimes it felt that there is no counter play for destroying keys and eventually you would lose game just because you can't get to heal buttons, maybe add another item that can fix keys - dps and tank level

Very nice project just in 48 hours!

Chains by Rendow 2020-04-20T11:08:55Z

Haha! This game had a lot of content for being developed in such a short time. Here are my notes:

**Things I Liked** - interesting idea, I felt like playing Pokemon - gorgeous pixel-art for all the Sprites - scratches the itch for those who like more grindy games (like myself)

**Things that could be improved** - game would have much better atmosphere with some background music and combat sound effects - I felt that you were in time pressure and couldn't make nice combat UI - more interactions during combat, maybe more abilites

Overall interesting game!

Sacred Gardener by Hanamigi 2020-04-20T11:42:18Z

Nice chill experience! I messed around with the game and here are few of my notes:

**Things that I liked** - music and sound effects really made the game, it added the right atmosphere (I would honestly play background music by default, without the need of turning it on by pressing M) - simple but nice looking art - comfy, idea fitted to Ludum Dare theme

**Things that could be improved** - I didn't 100% get it what exactly are plants trying to tell me, if I should water constantly or wait for some condition or how to get to the next stage and win the game - walking animation was smooth and pretty but I felt that bucket wasn't animated with it properly, it made animation look worse than it should

Overall very nice work in 48 hours

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Defendor by sapantaha 2022-04-05T19:05:00Z

I see you are Slay the Spire fan. That's + from the get go from me :) Really liked the take on theme + card combinations. I managed to bug one card, I was not able to play it from hand. My cons would be audio, loop music didn't fit right for this kind of game. Good job nevertheless

Don't Wake Me Up! by fjlucas 2022-04-05T18:50:50Z

Unique artstyle for ludum dare for sure. Had a kids show vibe to it. I assume you are not musician so I salute clever usage of own sleep recording sounds, it feels natural and well put. It took some practice to move limbs around but overall great game for ludum dare time limit constrains.

Cold and Alone by David York 2022-04-05T20:10:16Z

WOW! Just WOW! This game is best one I played on LD50 so far. Got all the upgrades and I think it's just attrition fight after. It has so much protentional for expanding on mechanics. But feels polished for a game done in such short time. I am not sure if game is without sounds or it's just on my end and also I had strange dotted line in middle of screen for some reason. Otherwise huge success

Life Finds a Way by Mopifish 2022-04-05T19:27:23Z

Difficulty ramps up really fast but otherwise cute idea and implementation, finally I put to use all of mine classical evil music playlists

LD53 — Delivery

Spice Route by frnknstn 2023-05-02T18:02:52Z

In my opinion, theme and art are main selling points of this game. Good work! Clever work-around of not adding music by suggesting Longest Jonhs playlist :P (now I have new playlist to listen while working, thanks :D). For mechanics, if I got it right, it's meant to be kind of "inventory" management game, but I had to fill the boat before tide timer runs out, which made me anxious :D Also game felt really hard :D

Golden Hour by Tyrannas 2023-05-03T19:24:25Z

Ay Matey what a nice pirate game you have here, I enjoyed downing those ships very much. Interesting little experience. Especially how water was visualized. The thing that was bugging me a little is no matter the level of destroyed ship the upgrades were the same as if I would down level 1.

Pros - pirates theme! - visuals and ambient music

Cons - little confusing shooting controls, sometimes I was not sure which key to press if I want to shoot to specific direction

Carriers by paulhocker 2023-05-03T09:25:21Z

Interesting game, enjoyable experience :) fitting aesthetics and calming music. I feel that delivery gameplay could be polished more. Don't get me wrong, for quick jam is working from start to finish, but I didn't really understand purpose of the shop. The food part was not really a factor as-well coops and lofts. I was just buying pigeons and sending them on missions until I won, maybe it can be balanced more around the shop mechanic.

Loading Zone by drazil100 2023-05-02T19:06:49Z

The more I think about it ... us game developers are always trying to make some cool game mechanics, but often time just a simple idea if more fun than complex game system. Really enjoyed the game. My main grip was the controls were difficult to grasp (some sort of tutorial tips would help into game description atleast) and lack of music. I got 269 points!

Buccaneers' Bounty by Swen 2023-05-02T19:17:36Z

Usually I feel annoyed having to manage inventories in the game ... but when the game is all about the inventory management in form of puzzle, I love it! Great art and theme, scope right for the jam, some small mechanic could be added to spice things up though :) Thanks for the experience, score 5090 :)

PACKGO: Ultimate Road Train by Arqcenick 2023-05-02T19:59:06Z

Cute, polished game :) Truck controls felt natural and well executed. Scope of the game hit the right spot for the jam. Only comment from me is that when I got to day 3 packages stopped spawning and couldn't finish the deliveries, might have been just bad at the game :D

eelBay by Peco 2023-05-03T09:48:32Z

Wow! What a gem, innovative game, enjoyed solving the delivery puzzles. Aesthetics and music was on point too. My personal opinion, remove timer from the game and let players solve deliveries on their own pace and infinitely. Main FUN and hook of the game is creation of eel shapes so focus on that.

Pros - visuals and ambient music - very good puzzle mechanic

Cons - controls could be polished more, selecting and moving eels were 100% smooth

City Runners by ScalphaMission 2023-05-03T10:48:12Z

Wow, impressed my the amount of content in this game considering it is a 72h jam. Bravo! Nice level generator and upgrade feature. This game could benefit with polishing and can be fun game to play on mobile while commuting or on toilet :D

Either I haven't reached it during play-trough or the game is lacking the end goal. Maybe some expensive upgrade that allows you to complete the game? Just a thought. Also, upgrades might need little re-balance. I was stacking speed and invulnerability and could just get hit by first thing in the level and then joust breeze trough the rest of the level while invulnerable, thanks to high speed :D On the other hand, maybe the fun of the game is not balancing things without a good reason :P

Pros - lot of content - fun fast game - fitting graphics

Cons - camera felt off, mainly while jumping. Not sure what's the reason behind it. I suspect that background is also moving when you are jumping and it evokes little bit of motion sickness, at least for me. - you can access upgrades menu in town with arrows, at first glance it looked like it's buttons for transfering deliveries instead of showing upgrade menus

Dungeonfalls by Majadroid 2023-05-03T19:43:14Z

Cool innovative take on Tetris. Impressive game to make in 48 hours, I applaud! But, the elephant in the room = main problem is that single mistake can ruin your whole level and there is no reset button. In my opinion this is important to add so more people can enjoy the game and not rage quit because of it

Pros - pixel art is looking very nice - easy controls

Cons - easy to soft lock yourself

_F*CK Consumerism_ by MnemosyneVL 2023-05-02T17:16:03Z

I commend on decision of making 3D game in such a short time. I liked the models of weapons, drones and house. Music was pleasant, sometimes music in jams can be more disturbing than enjoyable, but here is not a case. My main problem was with the shooting. It fell unnatural, not like I would expect from first person shooter games.

Chain Mail by AdamCYounis 2023-05-03T09:07:47Z

What a nice gaming experience, thank you for it :) I really liked the art and music of the game. There were few things that were bugging me, but overall polished game done in such a short jam time. Applause!

Pros - visuals - clever quest descriptions and story-telling - tutorial in form of question marks were nice addition

Cons - recruitment process felt redundant after a while, maybe in later days you can acquire stars to existing characters instead - some parts of UI were mildly annoying, after picking a character to recruit, if I want to pick another I need to deselect first and then click on a new one ... also nice quality of life would be terrain icons in heroes list, there was their "behavior" (or how to call it :D), so I guess technology is there

Pro Epistula Mori by squimmy 2023-05-02T19:43:23Z

Cute little game, had a good experience, nothing major to complain about :) Collected all the letters. My question is, what font did you use for the dialogs? I like it

Deliverance : SOUL REAPER by Nick Baggett 2023-05-02T20:15:29Z

Smooth and polished game experience :) Enjoyed it enough that I tried to beat my time two more times. Got 1:58 at the end. Aesthetics and subtle music felt fit. Thanks :)

BobKnight by NutvillageGames 2023-05-02T18:30:21Z

You really nailed it with a theme and fun gameplay. These kind of simple games are what jam is for.

My pros - funny and well written dialogs (big + for the avatars :D) - enjoyable music - combat was engaging

My cons - combat hit boxes felt of, I tried hit and run tactic but it didn't felt rewarding as I got hit a lot without proper feedback if I should get hit - little bit darker main menu for my taste - after a while dialog letter sounds were annoying

Our First Story by Donamougou 2023-05-02T18:44:38Z

What a neat beautiful game :) Felt wholesome and actually learned something haha :D You got a talent for educational content :P

Handle With Care by HumanIsRed 2023-05-03T19:06:16Z

Wow! What a marvelous game. Let's start with visuals and music, very nice, fit's perfectly. I love the concept of build the car and try to use it for delivering the object trough peculiar track. Very good job making such polished game just during a jam. This can be easily made into mobile game and do quite well.

Pros - innovative and really fun - challenging tracks

Cons - just a small grip, after finishing level, instead of going to the next level give player an option if he wants to continue or restart the level to try better star score

Mars Delivery Program by Erlioniel 2023-05-03T10:15:05Z

Loved the aesthetics and mood I got from the game. Calming, I want to say "mysterious-y" experience. Bravo! My main problem: game objective. I understand that you probably spent a lot of time on building a world, but you could have utilized the game area little more, place the boxes around in the world and let player explore! While listening to cool ambient music of course :)

Pros - visuals (+font) and ambient music - elevation and blurry effects - integration of tutorial - vehicle controls

Cons - climbing to red delivery point was little clumsy, I got stuck in collision on some places I wouldn't expect to ... also going back down I just rolled of the cliff and was "levitating" back to the ground smoothly :D

Mt. Deliverest by QwillaK 2023-05-03T20:08:17Z

Really impressive game, had a fun experience. Feels polished and controls are on point! Also aesthetics and music in the game are beautiful. You can easily continue developing it into small mobile game.

Hamazon Waremouse by Hoshinu 2023-05-02T17:31:23Z

First, I want to say that art and music (even though it was too loud and had to change pc settings for it, maybe some neat slider to control it) is really cool, especially if this is your first jam. But, I had no idea what's the game objective. I could interact with object that would disappear (to inventory I assume?) and also change the list by interacting with the "object" in bottom right corner infinitely. You displayed control which I commend, but as other suggested, some sort of score would help with some tutorial tips/message.

Delivery! NYC by Obe Dot 2023-05-03T18:17:45Z

Not sure what I just played :D But felt like spider-man, I guess you just need to shoot at those three beams and you win :D Fun to fool around for few mins, thanks for experience :)

Pros - trains - whole city, not sure if it was procedurally generated or modeled by hand

Cons - SFX hurt my ears a little :D - installer ? :D
