LD46 — Keep it alive

Ninja and Mouse by TrampolineTales 2020-04-20T04:17:11Z

Absolutely loved it! Really hard at first but once the movement is learned it's a ton of fun. I like the weighty feel of the character to control. One comment is possibly reset the height of the mouse each time so that you can last longer and let the player open the store as needed, that way it doesn't kill you as fast.

Sky Fyre Ruins by TCiceroDev 2020-04-20T15:08:30Z

Loved the death screne, almost had me fall out of my chair. It could possibly have been on my end but I'm not sure that the mouse cursor is locked in place. I would find my mouse going out of the first screen onto my other screen and it made it so I couldn't turn a full 360 degrees, more like 200 degrees at most.

Violent Running by Faulkin 2020-04-20T14:51:48Z

I liked the visuals! It was very hard to know where the enemies were as they would attack from the very edges rendering it impossible to see them without going really close to them. The characters were really unique and cool though!

$#!% Luck by anchoredtoad 2020-04-20T04:06:09Z

It seemed like a throwback to the old top down WW3 games which I loved! Very hard to aim as the gun doesn't point at the cursor and is off slightly. Lack of sound causes there too be little to no feedback for the player. The concept was humorous and I really enjoyed the stick character's animations and style!

$#!% Luck by anchoredtoad 2020-04-20T04:38:30Z

Haha it almost added character though? Like once I realized it kinda fit with the doodle art theme a bit!

Dad Day by mudlee 2020-04-20T15:04:31Z

I found myself needing to cheese the game just to stay alive! If you hold a baby and stand next to the other baby and switch off you can last quite a while! I enjoyed the visuals, me being someone who isn't an artist it was cool to see such simple sprites fit so well together! The game did a good job of inducing panic in me.

Defend the Loot! by ArtemFTW 2020-04-20T04:36:21Z

Great feeling game! The polish on it is remarkable for the time alotted, so kudos to you for that. Character graphics felt strange copared to the level's graphics. I enjoyed playing but found you could just sell all your current walls, build obsidian in layers around the chest then run around and train the enemies till you kill them. Besides that it's really impressive! Could be a fun mobile game.

Paid In Full by BlackMambaJesus 2020-04-22T18:07:36Z

A better intro would be very nice, I kept getting show while simply trying to read, so maybe make a ground floor where there's no time then you go on the elevator to floor one? It was fun and the limited view made it intense when the timer was getting low.

Keep them alive by Bajtix 2020-04-26T23:14:16Z

Reload is way too long. The ammo cap on the AK47 makes it impractical. I did love the art style and the enemy alerts above their heads.

Harvey Rideswell Wants a Puppy by Pincushion 2020-04-20T15:13:44Z

Creative concept that fits with the theme! Always enjoy a game with physics compenents like this. The bike felt near impossible to control however, not sure if that was intended or not. The graphics and animations were cartoony and awesome!

Attack on Dungeon by phantomeniasll 2020-04-26T22:05:32Z

Really impressive! Seemed really flushed out for a weekend game. Audio was good just wished there was some background 8-bit music as it can feel sorta empty with just the game sounds. Creatures seemed to get stuck on walls as well but didn't run into that issue as much.

just a boring topdown shooter by Kinshuk_thebest 2020-04-20T04:51:58Z

Glad I clicked! The mood was on point as well as the music, what did you use to make the sounds?

Lively Spirit by mailman 2020-04-20T04:40:26Z

@loan-pop I was wondering about if the camera movement would be too much, I absolutely suck at anything UI or camera related so didn't want to test my luck in the jam. Thanks for the awesome feedback though! And the increase in speed for the spirit would be a good addition, thanks!

Lively Spirit by mailman 2020-04-20T04:40:43Z

@rakowu Thank you! Means a lot!

Lively Spirit by mailman 2020-04-20T05:10:16Z

@anchoredtoad Noted! I don't know much about UI yet so any advice helps. And thank you for the feedback!

Lively Spirit by mailman 2020-04-20T13:59:32Z

@kinshuk-thebest I appreciate the feedback! There is a level select option if you want to try the levels beyond level 2, thank you!

Lively Spirit by mailman 2020-04-20T16:02:12Z

@ididgame rough around the edges is my middle name haha. Glad you enjoyed thank you a lot for the feedback!

Lively Spirit by mailman 2020-04-20T16:03:47Z

@saviqq Thank you for the feedback! I did have background music although it was not very good haha. It was me plinking notes on my guitar with lots of autotunning. And I believe that that might be an issue with the tilemap collider, not sure why it would be occuring though, thanks for the feedback!

Lively Spirit by mailman 2020-04-20T16:05:11Z

@ege686 I thought about including a difficulty rating that would simply change the character speed, although the levels are built around the characters velocity so that might be difficult to impliment. Thank you for the review I really appreciate it!

Lively Spirit by mailman 2020-04-20T21:51:49Z

@madbookstudios appreciate it man!

Feed Me More! by Itskdog 2020-04-20T15:46:18Z

Artwork is awesome! Animations and sound are on point. The gameplay gets a little stale after a while as it's the same thing over and over but its an interesting concept. I did find the animation to pick up a gem to be bothersome as I couldn't just run over the gem to quickly grab it. It was creative and haven't seen another like it!

Nature by rjerez192 2020-04-20T15:59:41Z

Really cool all that you packed in there! I enjoyed it and was able to last for a long time. I hit my guys with the big disease to slow down pollution and survived with only 6 people lol. I ended up losing because progress was too slow it said. Seemed weird because I made it to year 100, was that intended? Either way lots in there for a 48 hour jam!

Kings Orders by BookerBlueJay 2020-04-20T15:18:17Z

I enjoy the gameboy feel of it! The pixel art and animations were fun to watch and really good audio feedback all around. Did find that only the tip of your sword could hurt enemies. Not sure if that was intended but it made it very hard to hit the bats.

Kings Orders by BookerBlueJay 2020-04-20T15:28:12Z

@bookerbluejay ah ok, I typically found it would happen if I swung when the bat was already over my sword and assumed it to be a small hit box. Very fun though!

Hosted by pulkit garg 2020-04-20T05:08:35Z

Really fantastic! I played for like 10 minutes then died and hoped right back in again! Wish the difficulty didn't ramp so fast but other than that was a really awesome game!

Eclipse - Chip Hunt by ToxicHouse 2020-04-22T18:17:27Z

It felt polished as far as the controls, graphics, and sound. The lighting did a great job making me feel alone in space. Felt a bit easy though and not much to worry about. Possibly less oxygen or some sort of enemy would keep it from feeling like a cake walk. I enjoyed it though!

The Germinator by eboatwright 2020-04-20T01:13:04Z

You played the jam well! Kept the scope small and came out with a game that feels awesome and looks clean which adds to it feeling like a game not made in 2 days. Great job!

Social Life by CharlieGray 2020-04-20T00:54:23Z

Really impressed with all you were able to get in! Feels like it would be a great mobile game, the addition of the colorblind feature was also a really smart move!

Bubba's Beach Balls by HuddyBuddyGreatness 2020-04-26T21:58:32Z

I enjoyed the rope physics and the game concept. Would of done well with a background music of some sort not just the ocean sounds. Did a good job with giving feedback to the player with the grappel hook though!

Fatter by axeltherabbit 2020-04-20T15:25:56Z

Enjoyed the game, felt like I was training zombies in Black Ops except I was farting not shooting. Two comments, one is the background made it very difficult to pick stuff out because it was so busy, so maybe a grass textur or single color would be better suited? And the other is that a simple shrink/grow of the fork based off your distance to it could make it far easier to have a strategy as I would sometimes go for food that seemed to be halfway across the map.

Rogue by Canadarox28 2020-04-20T04:22:58Z

I like that the game is built to accept any JSON file, that's the part that really stands out to me. I thought the story was humorous as well. Wish for some button press sounds or atleast give some sort of feedback to the player. Cool concept.

Keep Ye Alive by JoskerDu 2020-04-20T03:59:42Z

Enjoyed the pixel art! Would of benefitted from some sort of control manual. Looks polished for a 24 hour game!
