@dalep I will work on this once I'm home, i'll let you know :) @everyone thank you very much for your feedbacks, goes straight to our hearts ;)
@dalep : light versions are on the github :) (at least for the map and the coins, i'm a bit too lazy to change all the small other pieces sorry)
Best game of the Ludum. Simple, Fun, Addictive, respects the theme really well, nice graphism, nice sound and feekback. DAYUM I LOVE THIS GAME.
34 735 btw, who wants to give it a try?
Capture.PNG @yngvarr this is a fight you cannot win young padawan
@vija02 @Yngvarr Had some plans for the weekend. Definitely going to cancel them.
Even without being exceptionnaly original, this game was really catchy, and i kept up a while trying do beat your highscore :D good job.
Best game I played in this Ludum so far, the concept is amazing! I got the feeling I could learn a language really fast by playing that kind of game! You should definitely keep working on it IMO
It was pretty gun I GUESS since I think I still havent figured out all the core mechanics. I really think a tutorial, even written could be a huge help to dive in your game! Smooth graphics and animations though!
@tab1bit0 yeah we figured that out, we didnt publish the latest version by mistake x)
I really like the art style! Really smooth and nice animations. I'm not sure to totally get the gameplay though, I just got the feeling that making round trips between stars just works well ^^
The art, the music, the gameplay, the story! Everything was so perfect! Except maybe the gap between intermediate and pro which is huge x) but amazing game!
I really like the art, quite smooth and original! The sound was nice too! The gameplay is a bit too simple for the moment but it could be great with some small improvements!
Really nice game! Some moments were soo frustrating, like the sphere pyramid because I almost always created the small barrier first without doing it on purpose! But really nice, I'm now waiting for more levels and a Steam release :P
Dayum, this game is really hard x) but yeah, like @aurel said it's mostly because of the hitboxes that are really frustrating (gosh, this zombie made me cry), anyway good job!
Like many others I played way more than I thought I would in the first time, the progression system is nice! But god please fix the digging! Sometimes it took me 0.5s with pickaxe lvl 3 to dig a block and some other times it took me like 5/6s. This is kinda frustrating haha! But good joob anyway was quite fun :)
@scruffylooking2121 Thank you very much for your review :D And yeah... it's still a bit hard even with a normal mode I'm afraid, it's the curse of the developpers, we spend so much time trying to balance the game and sync everything to the music that we could play this game with our eyes closed! So it's hard to figure how a beginner would perform !
And thanks for the screenshot tips we'll indeed do that haha !
@okamit Thank you very much for the effort it's quite heartwarming to see someone reach the bottom :D And yeah the lives are a problem cause once you get the hang of the rhythm, it's almost impossible to die, we thought of a "transition area" between two biomes were you could try the rhythm of the new biome without losing any life / combo. That might do the trick :D Anyway, thanks for the review! (is your pseudo linked by any chance to okami ?)
@okamit Oh double meaning ? I like that haha! Okami's my favorite game of all times I think, hence my question ! Anyway thx again and cheers !
@saltysa Yeah like we said earlier we're probably gonna try to do a transition zone between biomes ^^
@theapplecake yeah that's also something we've done in the postjam version :) the jam version had indeed no acceptance time **before** a note, but the post jam does. Out of curiosity which version did you play ? :)
@crazybot you're definitely right to not rate on the postjam versions! That's the spirit, we linked the post jam for people who also wanted to try a more balanced game ^^ Thx for your review anyway
@thesambassador Thank you for the constructive feedback! We really tried working on the timing but you are right something feels off, don't know why or how, since the timers used for the rhythm are based on the bpm of the songs and the songs are created with a software that don't allow to go out of sync. However the acceptance window is indeed large, (1/4 of the timer between two note **before** the note, and the whole time between a note and the next **after**). Maybe we should reduce the window after the note, since it can be a bit confusing.
Anyway we're planning to add probably a real scrolling indicator, and also transition phases between biomes! thx again :)
@kristof haha alright, but someone already asked us to create a "hardcore" mode with only random patterns! But we can definitely add an easy mode ;)
@secretpocketcat haha don't worry you're not the only one! Thank you for trying 5 times though, not all people make that effort ! If I may ask, What do you think could have helped you understand better ?
@turgunen wow that's really heartwarming to hear, thank you very much for your review :D
Really nice game! Easy to play, and a lot of fun! Also great job on the graphics! As a graphist myself I can just imagine the work behind drawing all these assets and animating them! Congrats !
Ok ok, thx to the comments I **really** forced myself to try this again after losing 3 times in the 1st phase (I hate this kind of games), when I realized you could break the walls I was like "This is the twist everyone is talking about ? this is fun but desapointing". Well... You got me, this game is crazy, I had a lot of fun in the end and the idea is great! Best theme and innovation for me so far! REally good job !
My god this is so hard, I can't even pass the first wave of ennemies and I have tried several times ! But I might be bad... Otherwise the concept is really nice! (love the name btw)
EDIT: 6 waves! Yeah ! Didnt understand you could long press to shoot multiple bullets, that helps a lot!
Quite fun little game ! I kinda like the fact that you can really go everywhere you want unlike other tower defense. On the otherhand that makes it kinda hard to supervise all of your turrets but great job anyway ! (Best score: 240 for now)
As as big bullet hell fan, I really liked your game! Especially for something made in 9h that's quite impressive!! A few feedbacks though: a score counter would have been nice, it's always more satisfying ! And also, the eggs are sooo small. It can be kinda frustrating haha. But good job anyway!!
Really nice! The music is perfect for the mood and the graphics look great! Just didnt understand the lights instead of health bar, that was kinda confusing! But great job ! HighScore 1628 for now :)
First time I've seen a post about this game, I was like "Damned, those planets look gorgeous, but the UI looks complicated, I'll check it later." Now that's I have, I realize that I was so wrong. It's really easy to play and so catching! The Art is amazing and the music fits so well for every planet!! And all the details and narratives added to every planet! The real plus for me though was the voice acting that instantly put a big smile on my face, (that joke on minecraft was so dumb haha). Haven't reach the Eden yet but gonna try again for sure. Anyway, congratulations for shipping such a well polished game on every aspect in only 3 days, that's insane.
Eden reached yay ! That 2001 ref was so neat. Et la marseillaise... j'Ă©tais pas prĂȘt. Bref j'arrĂȘte de vous spammer, juste bravo
Really nice graphics! The gameplay is quite fun also ! A bit hard to dodge though haha!
For now, the game is sooo well polished, I love the iddle animations and god the musics...It's like they were written by Dany Elfman for Nightmare before Christmas ! But...I'm stuck already, I feel kinda dumb but I cannot figure how to use the stool, I'm pretty sure it is to reach what's on top of the bookshelf but can't figure out how to use it. Any hint ?
Nice game, really liked the graphics! Mechanics are kinda fun but it's so hard to focus on all roots at some points haha! Good job :D !
The tutorial was so funny, really got me in the first half. Was like "What ? how was I supposed to get oxygen back ? Am I dumb?" Definitely one of this Ludums master of humor ! Really great music and graphics too! Only thing is on the web version for me I got some lags and also there is a lack of feedback when trying to go on the other screen. I was kinda confused on how to go through and could succeed a bit by "brutforcing". Any way, great job!
I'm sorry I really tried but I must be a bit dumb, I can't figure how this work and how to complete stage 2! What are the blobs usage ? You describe the blobs and their numerical values but you don't describe how to use them? Not rating yet I want to play it in depth first, but this looks really promising!
@almost thanks for your review ! 36 fish on 1013m is great! For the rocks, as I said to someone else, we wanted it to be a bit challenging, fishes that hit rocks are getting locked for a very short time (which is not the case for river borders) but itâs enough to be quite punitive in the endgame !
@ausstein i'm gonna answer for @shadocalex since he probably didnt see your message, but apparently yes he's using split a lot! But yeah, we didnt have time to make a proper level design in order to make a really good user of split, and it's becoming useful only when you have a lot of fishes ! We're currently working on some ideas for a postjam version on how we could force to use a bit more this mechanic! Feel free to share if you have some ideas since you are probably our number one crash tester ;)
Always a big fan of shmups, your's is fun! But the ship is waaaay to slow in my opinion, it feels heavy to move and it make it sometimes really hard to dodge. And sometimes there is nothing on screen for like 10 secondes and suddenly, big ennemy and the screen is full of bullets, this could need a bit of balencing imo ! But overall like others said the principle of being able to destroy ennemis by destroying their core is a nice idea! Are those ships procedural ?
Aaaah finally the addictive scoring game i've been looking for! Well polished and I really like the upgrade system !
Wow, the mood is amazing. The feeling of struggling to do even a couple meters in a terrible cruel universe is so well done! Music and graphics match perfectly, and I have this vibe of "adventure" and "curiosity" of what's going to happens, and is there a mistery hidden in this word ? Is there a way out ? I would definitely play a game like that with more content ! :D well done again
Really fun game, love the visuals, the music and the tryhard ! Had to download the game for a better experience though, the web one was a bit laggy when too much ennemies !
I love the concept and the mood that you created there, but the typing noise is really driving me crazy at some point, I could have muted the tab but everyone is talking about how lovely the music is so I was waiting for it haha (but is tehre really a music after the one from the intro ?). Anyway it's refreshing to see new ideas and people trying stuff here in the LD ! Good job
Loving that emo mood, brings back the good ol' tokyo hotel vibes (no.) !I'm a bit confused by how to get rid of the hunters properly, but overall great game, especially the graphics !
Pretty neat pixel art graphics ! Simple concept but still fun to play, well done ;) And yes maybe like others said a background music could have been nice and a reset button as well haha, but yeah, it's LD and especially compo, no one can do everything !
Fun game ! got to 313 but since 250 could not play properly anymore :/ the game was waaaay to laggy to be able to dodge
Quite intriguing turn on the theme, but I really like the choice of having a "feel good" game over, brings a good mood ! Also the graphics are great !! super cute
Wow, what kind of twisted mind created that spider ? I love it haha, mechanics are a bit confusing at first but it's catchy when you get it :) and extra point for the mood, which is particularly well done !
A bit hard to understand to begin with but really fun game haha, that's a 5* humour in here for me, can't get enough NFT satire ! Good job
Nice game ! Really like the idea, music and graphics are pretty neats too ! I just have a trouble finding a strategy to get past 60s, at some point I cannot achieve to gain either enough life, cards or push to survive x)
I'm always amazed how sometimes simple games can be so addictive and challenging (in a good way), after the first death I only wanted to start again haha, well, could not do more than 2min for now but well done that's a nice game!
Overall: Great game! Great graphics, chill music and I really like the building machanic! I have a few downsides though, the best part is the building part, but it's only at the begining and the it becomes only a clicker game where you have to spam to be able to repair the bricks, either we should be able to modify our builds during the game, or we should'nt be able to repair and everything relies on the build at the begining. But here it's a bit an unpleasant hybrid gameplay, while the game has a lot of potential!
Achieved 30k but stopped clicking cause I was bored. But again, overall it was great, and I especially like the Howling Castle look ! (maybe it was an inspiration?)
well done
image_2022-04-11_130130355.png
Small pic of my ship btw since I found it kinda cool
I love the mood of your game ! Really chill and nice choice of colors ! I'm just a bit confused on how to get past of the giant wall on the right, I tried using the lamas and got a bit further but then i got stuck :(
image_2022-10-05_230248752.png
Pretty satisfied with this score, honnestly I dont know how I could have much more the screen was 100% crowded with cells haha Aside of that ... WOW. Everything is soooo polished that's insane, the particles, the movements, the theme, and it's actually super fun to play. Well done !
@amolker just saw your screenshot, how the HELL did you get that much medibots ??
I know i'm just a small comment among a lot of others since your game has such a big success but once again, well done ! Everything looks very polished and it's super smooth to play ! Quite impressive for only two people ! GG wp
Omg, it's actually exactly our game, but with better music, better art, and more polished gameplay haha, well played :')
@amberfall92 thank you very much for your kind comment ! It was indeed our intent to create a chill mood and to avoid creating too much stress with angry clients or wild timers like overcooked!
@chillertyp yeah sorry, as we said in the disclaimer part, we used Godot 4 beta to make our game and the export only works on chrome (and derived) browsers :/
@benthetwoofus I totally agree that the input system need improvement, especially for the levels above easy where you need two series of input to make a coffee (with milk and cream). We thought a bit about it but could'nt find a really satisfying way of making this.
For the orders...well the game was mostly made for two players, and we had this idea that it could be fun for one players to take the orders, and for the other to prepare coffee, that's why me made them appear only when getting near them. But maybe we could change that behaviour when playing solo, or maybe hiding them by default, and then when the player get near the customer, display the order and never make it disapear again.
Anyway, thanks for your review ! Helps :)
@urjarm thank you very much for the kind feedback :D and yeah #GodotTeam4Ever !
@peachtreeoath thank you for the great review, it's nice to have such a constructive feedback ! And yeah we tried to create a chill mood, while also trying to create an input mechanic that allowed to be quick by making coffees. The result is a bit of an hybrid monster, half peaceful and half scoring, which might be weird. But our main take was indeed to get rid of the downsides of overcooked (especially the timers and the dishes). We'll probably try to make a chill mode with less clients / minute to fit more with the ambiance now :)
@lizzie-th thanks for the kind review :), the stopwatch is actually just time passing by haha, and yeah for the coffees more than 3 would indeed be nice but since we only had 3 keys available we didnt want to add more keys. Buuut it's true we could have put several coffees per key !
@khadia maybe you had a bug but normally all the recipes are supposed to be writen on the bottom of your screen !
image_2022-10-10_143103251.png My god finally I found a working solution for the redpanda, took me ages!! Anyway, this was suuuper fun to play, trying to balance time, damages and positionning was challenging (especially on the panda) but very satisfying ! Like the art (and music even if you didnt do it yourself) ! Well played, as others said, I would probably play a longer game on this concept !
Really fun gameplay ! It's a great fit to the theme and is kinda addictive haha
Reaaaaally cute game, and the name and art are so funny ! It was a little hard at first to sync with the hiccup but it was quite a clever mechanic ! well done
Loved this minimaltistic rhythm game ! I was a bit confused a first and it was hard to keep up with the rhythm (but also mostly cause i was in AZERTY haha). Nice entry anyway, couldnt pass more than 80 though !
First levels were really easy and quite fun, and then starting the level with the 3 horizontals turrets it was suddently way too hard for me i could make it ! But nice concept and realization ! good job !
@vkaike2 I'm not sure it's really a difficulty issue. Maybe the problem is more that the step in difficulty is too big, or maybe the jumb is not precise enough, I couldnt avoid one of the three without getting hit by the others. But I'll have a look at your video ;)
@vkaike2 ooooooh I didnt notice the S key while jumping !! that's definitely on me I had forgotten that it was shown in the tutorial (but at this point I didnt really understood what it was for!) thank you :)
Great game ! Nice HUD and runs pretty smoothly, I got to say, what caught my eyes the most was the cover art haha, did you do it for the Ludum or is this some Midjourney stuff ?
The wereburger, I was not prepared for that haha. Lot of humor and great animations (especially the transformations). Maybe too great though, i found it a bit frustrating to move since the animation was taking so long even if beautiful !
Was definitely one of the best games I have tried during this ludum ! The graphics are just so neat and cute, as a graphist I'm almost a bit jealous of you achieved during suche a small amount of time haha, and in addition to all of this the game is super fun to play, I was kinda hooked !
@doot ooooh you are the ones behind "We need to talk", was such a talented team
Very funny game, reminds me of good ol fashion wario ware ! But I really couldn't understand the champagne one :/ I even try to use the keyboard to move the champagne to the head just like on the gif but it didnt appear to do anything. So i was stuck with a lot of champagne popus :( Anyway, really like the humor of this! (Hot potaotes in your area really got me haha)
I'm a HUGE Outer Wilds fan. So seeing your post talk about Outer Wilds inspired game, I was really hyped and also a bit worried at the same time haha! But the game was great !! you really created a nice knowledgevania, I was so curious at first when I triggered the lever without knowing how, and I tried walking everywhere in cycle to try to reproduce and couldn't make it! Loved the gesture mechanic. Although it almost drove me mad to play the music cause some movements were not recognized properly and I had to start all over again a lot ! One of my favourites games of the Ludum for now !
Suuuch a cute game, I love the aesthetics, they are very originals and constrating with a lot of other LD games. Lot of humor and a great happy / nostlagia mood. The only problems are that I found it veeeery hard to play, like I was never sure of when to press the keys (especially on the first song, it was the hardest one to play for me), and also for a rhythm game, I have the feeling that the music could have been a bit more catchy but hey, it's a Ludum and there is only 72 hours, and for this time, the game is impressive !
Comme a chaque Ludum vos jeux sont juste trop beaux en fait, avec en plus pour celui là la grosse composante ultra mignonne des lapins! Et en plus le jeu est fun à jouer ! Vraiment bien joué
This. Is. Great. It's super original I like it a lot, it's kinda hard to rate the graphics since most of what makes the game is movies, but well played for finding this crazy idea and making it into a fun game to play !
Wow nice art and mood! I loved the cartographic art direction and this deep underwater vibe! Like other have said though it's a bit repetitive but I would definitely play a game like that with more content (maybe some mysterious adventure or something) well done :)
Quite simple, but really effective, I had fun playing it even if it's not easy, it's good difficulty. I just realized that I was pretty sure to know this artstyle and indeed I played a lot to your previous "Void" Game, from LD50 haha, nice serie, can't wait for episode 3 "The Return of the Void"
A simple yet really efficient scoring game, that's the kind of game that's always cool to try ! I don't really understand how all of this is related with the geometric shapes but they added a nice visual vibe nevertheless! Well played :)
Very fun game, especially for something done in only 1.5 days ! This kind of game always get me addicted really fast haha, there is something odd though, it seems my souls counter is divided by two when the round ends, is it a normal mechanic or a bug ?
@everyone: Thank you for the great detailled feedbacks and yeah...we know speed is an issue, we didnt want to push a fix about that since it would have been a bit cheating, but we'll make a small postjam version with better speed and upgrades ratio :D
@kyboon Thank you and yeah good point we'll try to find a font !
@saviqq We definitely thought about getting better loot according to ship level but we were to much in a rush at the end of the game for that sadly!
@braveskin @christian-zommerfelds yeah the timer was a way for us to force the player to use the map to plan his route while being in a rush. But maybe there is a better way to do that! (and about the ennemies disapearing it's simply that they arrived at destination but that's true there could be a visual indication)
@nazorus haha merci ! qu'est ce qui nous a trahi ? le ZQSD dans les commandes ?
@swen Wow well done, 20 is not easy to achieve !
@josephgallear the upgrades with yellow "+" are meant to be "rare" updates, with less drop rate, but the system definitely need balance since everyone is taking speed first because of the slow ship haha. And yeah the design of the ships routes is not optimal and i'm afraid you cannot reach them all, we'll fix that too
@fabula-rasa Thanks! A lot of work was put in this shader haha, especially for the export which was a bit tricky. For the ennemies disappearing it's because they have destinations and when they arrived at their destinations they disappear, you can see that on the map :) About the audio well...we opted in, since I made all the music and it took me quite a lot of time, and I used free resources for the 3 sounds, as I don't have the recording material (nor the seaguls) with me at home, as I'm pretty sure a lot of jammers are doing (but it might have been more obvious for our case since we credited it in our description). But I agree, it's not an easy situation.
@celtican Wow thank you very much for your super exhaustive review!! For the velocity of the cannons well...It was a debate in our team haha, but there was no solution that everyone liked so yeah, we kept this one. Interesting point for the camera moving when reaching the boudaries of the map, we might indeed try to do something different. About more ships: yeah definitely, there could be an endless game with day / night cycles, we put a timer cause we wanted the player to be forced to use the map to plan an optimal route, but there could be just a timer for each day, and then new ships and routes every new day. Anyway, thanks again for your time playing and writing reviews! (And yeah, we went for dinner and suddently had 15 new reviews just after eating we were the first surprised!! Now, time to rate more games)
@lisek-gagatek It's indeed a fullscreen shader ! (well actually several shaders since it's not the same for the background and for the shallow waters)
@chompdev The islands heights are hand drown haha, no magic in this one. Reflections are a great shader by @Kerdelos
@clarkdjent Noted! It's quite hard to balance though since some others complained about the ship being not controlable enough :P but maybe some things can be changed to make it bett
@jin9310 Hey thanks for your feedback :) about the theme, our point is: instead of delivering stuff, other ships are delivering stuff and you need to prevent them from doing so, it's a bit of a twist I know, but some other people liked it ;)
@ava-skoog not playable at all after the first shot ? I've read somewhere that html5 builds are not working on Mac for godot4 :/ maybe one of our dev can make a native macos build i'll let you know ! Thx for trying anyway :)
@ava-skoog That's interesting though because almost everyone I know has a small lag after the first bullet but it doesnt make the game freeze afterwards. So we might try to find a bug !
@ava-skoog There is a macOS build now available in the download section if you want to try it :) https://kerdelos.itch.io/golden-hour
@ava-skoog wow thanks for the very complete review ! About the controls to pick an upgrade, you should normally be able to pick the upgrades with arrow keys, but maybe there is a bug on the mac build ?
And about what we did to make it working I'm afraid I don't know what our macOs dev did, I will ask him, but normally Godot 3.5 web builds should be working according to the docs that's odd.
Reaaaaally well polished game, that the kind of entries that are at the same time really enjoyable and also a bit frustrating by how talented some people can be haha !
Very enjoyable, but as some others say, if I had to pick a down side I'd say it's really not easy to understand some situations, or what to do with the reactions of the characters at first.
Et aussi, vraiment bien rigolĂ© sur le ACAB â
Waw, you really overdone yourself for the graphics and mood, it's beautiful, especially the moment where there is a dezoom when you arrive at some place. (And i'm usually not really fond of 3D graphics games but yours is great). The music is also really chill and fits well with the game (although I started the game again with no sound and played "6th station" of Spirited Away in the background, it's fits even more perfectly haha. While also fitting well in the mood, the gameplay was not what I would have expected, I just wanted to drive my train and watch the landscape move and not especially talk to all the souls without knowing exactly what to do. Anyway, it's a really good entry, you'll perform well in the graphics and mood categories imho !
Got to the end but ... after ending everything on my screen seems to slide, I think this game is creating weird illusions, anyway, it was super simple but fun, can't believe i spent 6:44 min just pressing up and down to catch sheeps haha
Loved this game ! It's simple yet challenging. Fun and smart. The audio and graphics also fits very well. If I had something to change it would be adding a little more feedback as to why I was sometime able to move the package with the keyboard keys and sometimes not. Other than that it's a perfect entry, congrats !
Really original idea ! Definitely a high contender on innovation category ! Some small criticisms: I understand the need to add some gameplay with the minigame but it was kinda frustrating (especially for non native like me) to be bereft of some letters, it was hard enough to try to find a joke in another language ! And also for me the music was really stressful (thanks for putting a shutdown button <3). Overall, had fun playing this and again, very innovative !
Well played, this game is amazing, the graphics are probably the best that I've seen during this jam, the music is great too. Only down side for me, sometimes the UX to unselect some characters is not really intuitive! But again, well played! And also, gentle reminder to rate other people games !
Very refreshing entry, while most of the games are arcade or classic puzzle ones, having a point and click puzzle game with history is nice ! Reminded me a lot of the case of the golden idol. Music and mood were great, graphics very original too (some Burton / Don't Starve vibe), only thing that bothered me was the fact that i wasnt clear that the riddle was in several steps, so I supposed that I had to solve the entire mystery at once (since we had also access to the girls room) and it misled me quite a lot before finding the solution to the first riddle. Anyway, very good job, I liked your game !
Pretty well polished pixel art and mini games ! Really gave me some among us vibes, but I have to admit I really struggled understanding some of those minigames and failed consistently haha
Enjoyable game ! I like the original idea you had for the theme haha "hey guys, lets make a rat delivery service ok ?". The graphics were great, especially the characters (rat included), lot of details and that's really the strong point of the game for me. For the gameplay it's simple but works well, and there is so much you can do in a Ludum Dare ! I would have loved to have a bit more lore / story during the missions but, yeah as i said, not enough time i guess ! Anyway, well played :)
Liked the gameplay very much but the art style makes it very hard to read the game. Otherwise nice fx and music. Good job !
Definitely agree with @cypheus about the asdf control ! Otherwise the game was quite fun, simple but really effective (i'm quite bad at it though I only got to 12), it would be better if the difficulty was increasing faster than this, since at it takes quite a long time for the game to become a bit "stressful" and it's the fun part of the game ! Anyway good job !
Wow, super polished game, this is pretty impressive ! Nice animations, music, sfx, also the ingame tutorial is a real plus (even if it's simple, not everyone has and take the time to do it). So congratulations, really solid entry. Only thing that bothered me, but it's more a personnal thing, is that I don't really like the mix between puzzle and platforming game, it can sometimes be really frustrating when you know the solution but it takes serverals tries to perform it just because you need to find the perfect throwing distance. But it might be a nice thing for some people! Anyway, well played again !
Ran the python script and it's opening mspaint but then nothing is happening :/
Oh yeah sorry didnt even check the logs (main python dev here, and didnt think of that lol), here you are in case that helps: ``` mspaint_window = gw.getWindowsWithTitle('Untitled - paint')[0] IndexError: list index out of range```
Okey i fixed the window button, but now I got another one: ``` Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:\Users\Utilisateur\Downloads\Commutator_Source.py", line 68, in
The window was changing name, basically there at the beginning of the code it should be "Sans titre - Paint" and then later "805.png - Paint". Now it's running without error but I think the script isnt changing the window size properly so the mouse moves but it's not drawing anything haha I'm gonna try to find
Nah windows 10 but I think it's clicking on an option it shouldnt probably cause menus are not ordered the same in french ^^ ! Is it supposed to open this window ? Cause after opening this, the script just moved the mouse (and it does nothing) and ends [Capture dâĂ©cran 2023-05-06 013842.png](///raw/3bf/z/5b6df.png) (edit: i think my image is not being uploaded)
Sorry just saw your message, finally managed to get it working, menus were indeed at the wrong place, and then it also wasnt clicking at the right place (no idea) why ! Thanks to @100th-coin video I was able to see was the script was really supposed to be doing and find the right x, y to make it work lol. Also mapped french keys: https://pastebin.com/2EremC2X
Well now going to bed, way to late and spent way too much time on this lol, let's say it was a part of the game ! Anyway, your idea was crazy and I really wanted to try it, great idea even if the game is super simple, good job !
Not really my kind of game, but reminded me a lot of the games I was playing online as a kid ! Pretty well polished and nice mood (a brutal one). But the game is like, super hard, and it's kinda frustrating to start from the begining every new game.
Simple but effective and fun! Pretty well polished for a ludum dare game, well done for that, it's not an easy task!
Stuck at 0 percent loading for me sadly :/ (edit: switched to chrome and it's working)
Okeeey, so had actually quite a lot of fun doing a run, took me a bit to understand the value and buffs (i swear i had read the description), yeah, quite challenging but I really like the value mechanic, that was interesting compared to classic deck builders. But man, the last level is way too hard, especially after the trap, it did not fell possible even if I had played better, is this on purpose ?
Oh and also, loved the music !
Mood would have been perfect with some background music but I guess there is so much you can do in 48h ! Anyway, I really like your take on the theme, some heartwarmings games are always welcome !I also agree with @likirus that not knowing how many flowers to collect is a bit confusing, since it's a proto, I assumed there was no ending and I stopped at 8 flowers. (At some point I dropped a flower to take another one, and the grandma would take my flower, I think it's a bug). Also one small detail: I would suggest adding a shadow beneath grandmas chin, otherwise it looks like she has a huge chin which was a bit confusing for me at first: Capture dâĂ©cran 2023-05-12 103926.png
Amazing Art, sound and Mood !! About the gameplay itself, I'm not sure to have understand everything since it's a bit late here and I didnt have th strength to read all the manual pages but I was able to dig with the machine and collect crystals which I believe is the main part of the game ? Anyway great job on the visuals again, love your style! Update: read the description and there seems to be so much more! I'll check again tomorrow!
Simple and effective but really hard lol, I couldn't manage to get past 6 boxes to deliver. Neat graphics and music
@kiberptah thank you for the exhaustive review ! The idea was indeed to make the player discover by itself the mechanics and maybe develop new techniques to kill ennemis. Using the elastic instead of the attack can be sometimes better when there are packs of ennemis ! But you are right having them all come from a direction could actually be funnier since it would be easier to use the elastic !
Finally the character already has HP (top right corner of the screen), but it's probably not super visible and HP are shared with the core, maybe separate healthbars above the player and the core would be easier sure !
The explosion mechanics is also quite interesting ! Maybe we could try it without spending too much time coding it !
Like the idea ! It can be a bit hard for people average in english like myself to find words but the concept is great, also the fact you took time to make a tutorial is great ! I wonder why the music is paused by default though ? especially since the audio is pretty smooth and works well with the game
Love it ! It could be really addictive if it was a bit smoother to play (the snake isnt really nice to play with, maybe if the movement was a bit more continous and not one tile every second it would be better), with maybe better graphics (like neon style ?) and maybe some more upgrades. But I guess there is only so much one can do in a weekend haha Anyway it's kinda fun and think it has potential for a bit more !
One of the coolest games I tried so far ! Super fun and innovative concept, nice graphics (love the fish), only thing is it's hard to play on a non-qwerty keyboard :( that's basically what made me lose everytime haha. Great entry !
Came for the title, I guess funny names work as an eye catcher ! Simple game, yet a bit fun, could be more playable if it was getting more challenging with time but I after reaching 50 I had the feeling nothing was changing and I got a little bored, small addition of spawn rate or ennemy speed could maybe make things a bit spicier !
Very fun ! Really liked the pushing mechanic. As other said, colliders on monsters are too big (hitbox are nice when they recieve damages but not when they inflict damages) so it's too hard. And again as other have said, the upgrades could be better, more useful. But overall great entry with a lot of potential I think !
(Oh and also great Mood !!)
My god these kind of games make me feel so bad at videogames haha, I struggle a lot and could not finish the first level (really stuck at the moment where there is a thin platform just above you), but I'm gonna send it to some friends who are better than myself at this stuff ! Anyway even with struggling i can tell the game is quite cool and tryharders will love it ! well done
Super hard game lol, I'm really struggling to go past a vertical part in the crystal zone, somehow I must not 100% understand the tricks to move the snake. Anyway, for the rest, the game looks great, nice art ! Moving the snake around is quite cool too, and nice SFX. Your take on the theme is one of the best I had until now I think ! Good job :)
Best game in this jam for me so far, everything is super polished, the mechanics are great, pretty balanced and fun to play. Only thing is my dragon got almost one shotted by the final boss, kinda disapointed since I used a lot of resources to craft it haha
Nice concept the navigation through portals into several differents "spaces". I don't know if it's a bug but I have no music nor sound, if you didnt make any maybe you should opt out of these ratings ? Also I'm not sure to understand how the merch works. Also like @peremily said the static background is quite confusing when the ennemies are dead it's really hard to understand if we're moving or not. Finally the bullets could be bigger I think, it would be more satisfying ! Anyway, good job for shipping !
And love the alinish valhalla viking vibe by the way haha
Wow, such a beautiful game, even without racing for a big score, just setting tiles and enjoying the mood is great !! It's funny we had almost the exact same idea during brainstorming (but we would have never make it as beautiful as you did). Only thing that bothered me is that the map (at least the first one) is a bit too big, so it might be hard to try to find the "perfect combination" for the highest score. Anyway, well done !
Wow, such a nice polishing ! Everything is super smooth to play, the SFX, the FX, the screenshake, and the music is quite catchy too ! Great entry !
Quite hard to figure out how to play, even with the tutorial (props to you for making one !) graphics are gorgeous and the audio is quality as well ! I figured some things by myself on my second try and could play a bit ! It's fun and is a bit challenging good job !
I really like this kind of simple scoring games. Well polished and just the perfect balance that makes you try to chase high scores haha, and props to the sound design and music which are particularly well done !
image_2023-10-03_144152228.png
Okeeeeeeeeeeeeey, the game can be sometimes fun when you get the tower rotation speed upgrade but otherwise it drives me crazy it's waaaay too slow. But I really like the fact that you made a lot of different upgrades, and the sound design all recorded had me laughing ! This is a good entry that could just need a little bit of tweeking the initial values to make it addicting ! Well played
I was a bit sceptikal about the graphics at first but in the end I found myself enjoying them, giving a bit of abstract / weird vibe to the game ! Like @martta I felt the lack of sound pretty hard, but I just ended up playing a "noir detective playlist"(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHAY3FPNCGU) in background and I enjoyed the game way more with that ! About the story, it was really nice ! We did a narrative game too this jam and I feel how hard it is to write a lot of content and give player "choices". But sometimes not much choices are needed to make an immersive story and I feel that it's the case with your game. My only regret is that the "twist" appears a bit too fast in the story in my opinion, a bit more build up would have been a real bonus I think.
Anyway, intersting take on the theme, nice graphics, nice story, well played!
5 out of 5 for innovation here for me ! I really like reverse engineering games and this one was a great example of it ! I have to say I was super confused at first cause I didn't pay attention that there were 2 diagrams, one for the current analysis and one for the requirements, so I was super lost and thought the game was random. But once I've seen it then it was really more about exploration and reflexion and it became way funnier !
Good job for this (and even adding a scoreboard ! don't know if it's part of the tool you used or not)
Fun little game ! Quick to play but just the right amount of time I think! It's super polished and the graphics and audio are great ! It was just sometimes a bit frustrating that I was sometimes so sensible to find the perfect spot (but I'm playing with trackpad so I'm guessing that's it's better with a mouse)! Anyway good job and nice entry !
Oh waaaaaw such a good game ! The art is so well done, I especially like the roofs design and backgrounds, you don't see them a lot in the game and yet they are super nice looking ! The music is awesome too, catchy, and not too repetitive, with great asian vibes. I payed extra attention to the death animations since you mentioned them in your comment on our game @sn4pi haha, they are indeed funny !
About the gameplay itself the summoning mechanic is really fun, and you crafted some good levels ! I especially like to collect the lanterns even if it does not give any rewards, it gives some feeling of being a "good" player and it's quite satisfying haha (and it's great you had the time to add them)
One thing that bothered me a bit was that the summoning does not teleport you, but makes you travel from point A to point B, and kills it kills you if there are any spikes on the path. I don't know if it's by design or not, but I feel that the visual is giving a feeling of teleportation and it was sometimes frustrating to die while being "teleported".
Lastly some small improvements could be on the fluidity, I feel like the jump and the summoning could be slightly faster to be even smoother, even if you need to put a little more cooldown before summoning again.
Anyway, great job, congrats to the three of you !
@sodoj oh waaaaaaaaw it's you !! Haha I tried and liked your game without even recognize your pseudo but everything connects now ! Still want to know the morse code at the end of your game btw (if you want to give a slower version of it or just give the translation )! Anyway, really happy you liked our game, we're kindof happy of the result we got. And yeah totally agree with you that the text during the "night" scences lacks a bit of decoration, but there was already so much to do !
@abbattoir Aw shoot, sorry you had to bruteforce your way. With puzzle games it's always hard to be super objective on what's clear or not after you spend 3 days thinking about it, it always seems easier than it really is for the people discovering it !
@ecenizo Thanks for the kind words @ecenizo, however as written in the description we added the french translation in a post jam update, we didnt feel like updating a special link for french since it's not changing the game itself that was made during the jam, so we just wrote it in the change log!
@sn4pi How waw thanks for playing because of this post haha, I was really wondering how humor was rated and I'm glad we're not the only ones in this case! And thank you very much for your nice comment, will definitely try yours too when I get the time to do so :)
Oh waw !!! Really skeptical about a command line game at first I was amazed by the cleverness of the game mechanics !! Had to restart the game at level 6 cause the closing doors system was not really clear for me since I did the lvl 5 too fast. But then I figured it out and the logic of levels 6, 7 and 8 were sooo satisfying ! Sadly I switch to AZERTY again to answer a message and when I got back to your game I forgot to switch to QWERTY, pressed Q and left the game :'( I'll start over later I think but anyway, really great entry !!
Vraiment fun !
Graphics and VFX are great, this feels really polished, sound and music fit pretty nicely in and I liked the descriptions of the cards, it was a nice touch even if I was a bit confused at first cause I thought I needed to understand what was written on the cards. The gameplay itself is a bit confusing, I know the concept it's simple but I could not get it at first, only after my first loss did I understand how this was working. Also, I have the feeling that the green zones sometimes overlap their containers ? I think I can see it also on one of your screenshots. Anyway, it's a great entry, well played !
Wow. Every single game you make is great, everytime, and just during a Compo not even the jam, and alone ! As always, I'm amazed, graphics are super cute, the accoustic music (is it accoustic btw or with a great VST ?) is super relaxing and is a nice change from all the other games. And the puzzles are great, with a nice difficulty scaling. Maybe my only critics would be that 1) in my opinion it does not fit the theme super well 2) while cute, the little animations when walking the characters are too slow imo, it's a bit frustrating while wanting to just move fast to try combinations in the puzzles. Anyway, it's a great game, well played !
Wow, you really NAILED the Balatro UI! Had quite a fun playing this, everything is super polished (actually quite confused on how to rate you on graphics since it looks really neat but is a perfect copy of balatro aside from the dices). The pin mechanic is also intersting (but I have a few concern about it, like, how to you get new pins ? I unlocked new pins slots but could not use them ? Or did I miss something?). Also, it's really hard to read the combos we do, maybe you could display them for a longer time and maybe on the right side of the screen (like replacing the shop when you display the combos). Overall, really good entry, had fun. PS: music is banger !
Oh wow @gcake congrats for reaching wave 11 ! I'm already struggling at waves 3/4 ! And especially congrats for the team that made the game it's awesome, probably in my top 3 for now ! The music is great and catchy, the game mechanic too and the graphics are simple but really polished. Difficulty might just be a bit hard in my opinion (or maybe i'm just stupid), but I feel at wave 4 their are suddenly too many ennemies + the knights with shield and it's too hard. (But again, that's my opinion). Anyway it's a great entry, well played !
Wow congrats the game is amazing for a Ludum ! Graphics are so polished and the game is actually quite fun to play ! and I really liked the narrative part of it (and also the humour in it.) Down sides for me are: - it's not really clear at first that the unit don't need to reach the towers to make damages - it's a bit weird that you have three lines but you can put everything on the line without debuffs and you're almost certain to win - knights are broken, I'm pretty sure i gained more than 2 of strength per discard since at the end my knights were both at 5 and so it was way too easy to win, put a 50 knight on lane and wait two turns ! Easy win hehe
But really, overall it's an amazing ludum entry you can be proud!
I was really hyped by your post with the weird letters and thought it would be a deciphering game or something like that! Ended up playing a rythm game but it still was a pleasant surprise ! Had fun and as other said it was quite hypnotizing. Really liked the VFX. Maybe is just me though but I found 1) the activation window was too short, I think rhythm games should be just a little bit more permissive. 2) Was really bugged me was that the rhythm needed for some puzzle was not on the same rhythm than the sound already playing it was really confusing ! Overall the idea is interesting and fun !
(Also I wanted to try to decipher the morse code at the end but it was way too fast for my sloth of a brain, too bad :/)
Good job :)
The overall idea is nice, I'm quite fond of deck building games and they can be pretty addictive. However here as you mentionned it lacks balancing. Here are my detailled reviews (and I know there is so much one can do during a Ludum, I'm just saying what could be better) : - I had a bit of trouble at first to fully understand some cards, like the one where you needed to have a "summoning unit" to play them, I only understood it later just my forgetting to summon my attacker before picking another card (and it was actually a nice surprise to see 3 of them pop up, I liked this mechanic, but I really feel the card description, or the visual feedback could be clearer). - Talking about feedbacks, would be nice to have some visual or audio feedback when playing bonus: I barely noticed I buffed my units health - I think before round 3 or 4 all my new cards options were cards that decreased my life of my health, don't know if it's normal ? - I lost in the end in one turn, I had nothing I can summon (only buffs) and my character got one shotted which is a bit frustrating.
Otherwise the audio is nice ! And so are the graphics, simple, but cute (I just think the background does not fit really properly with the rest of the assets and maybe the dithering effects reduce readibility of the game).
Anyway, I really think it could be very fun with just a few tweaks and balancing, so good job !
Damn, lost at round 12 and struggling a bit to get passed it after a couple tries ! Probably one of the games I played the most during the LD ! You did this on your own ? That's impressive ! The game is really fun and quite well balanced which is often the hardest part. Graphics are not really my style but everything fits well together so and you cann tell there's work behind it so that's still a good grade on graphics for me ! Music is great too. Overall, really solid entry that you god there
Nice game !! Love the fusion mechanic to summon different type of creatures ! Art and music are really good too, quite impressive especially for a compo ! I still have some issues though: - it's way too hard to understand (for me) what the differences between the summoning are, we don't have time to see their effects. - level 3 is already waaaay too hard, i'm spamming summons and i'm getting wrecked
With a few more balancing of infos on how the game works it would be super fun to play I think ! Good job :)
Really great Idea and graphics, I love it! Puzzles are fairly intuitive at first and it was satisfying on the first puzzles. But I have to say, I struggled on the pizza one, like I really don't understand why "source" needs to be highlighted. And the one after that "Immortal Fruit" where 6 words need to be highlighted I just don't get the logic haha. Probably since english is not my main language but I'm totally stuck and it's a bit frustrating.
Overwall is a great entry, polished and refreshing ! (Just for the music like @17-confused-villains said, it's way too short and become annoying quite fast, I know you put a volume button but it's not really the same since it's still better to play with with sound than with nothing IMO). Anyway, great job !
@motoilyuha yeah well, the human grandpa collecting mushrooms being the boss was just a joke when we talked about it but we kept it cause we thought it was fun ^^ but you're right it's not the most fitting in the general atmosphere
@durkagames haha what do you mean "feels like playing dark souls" ? As a souls player I'm not really sure to understand the comparison :P as for space we thought using wasd+ ijkl + Space was maybe too much but maybe not After all, we'll add the binding for further players maybe
@ellearx I Can give you a hint if you tell me where you were :)
@sabrina-ross haha same answer than for @durkagames, we thought Space + wasd + ijkl would be too much but we'll add the binding !
@larryseinfeld you get to the top, make the basket fall and inside there is a New stone with runes, you go UP again, and then all the way to the boss and use this final song :) (WE know it's not super obvious sorry)
@thesmellofoxygen thanks for the review ! Yeah using a grandpa collecting mushrooms was more of a joke at first but somehow we made it real cause we thought it was funny but I actually LOVE your idea of a forest orchestra that needs to be synchronized ! Defintely going to think about it :)
@gamayun-games thank you for your nice comment ! Just in case you didnt notice cause it's a bit obvious but the songs you learn are displayed at the bottom left of your screen so you don't have to remember everything :)
Hey @aviv-levy and thanks for the exhaustive review really helps ! We are aware the dark part really need some adjustments to be pleasant, and as for the runes we wanted them not too explicitly looking like letters or directions to make it more puzzle like, but just like you, quite a lot of people struggled with it si yeah that's defintely something that should be changed ! And no we didnt know Loom but it Indeed looks a lot like our mechanic haha !
@kultuk ohhh it's shrimpy ! Thanks for the review and yeah good point for the letters I should have made them more easy to read ! I'll fix that in the future :) (and no we didnt want to put it in the game description since the first "puzzle" is falling into the pit and discovering that you can make music haha
Nice little scoring game ! It's polished, good graphics and audio, and the leader boards are a real plus ! (always makes me wanna play more haha) gold in all three modes for now ! Only thing is I think it could be a bit harder. Didn't lose a single carrot even in hard mode I think there is room for a harder difficulty ! Anyway well played I had fun !
I really like your graphics, simple style but very effective and quite original ! Gameplay also is simple but quite fun when you get the hang of it ! Only downside it the lack of music and small creatures noises which would have really add to the mood imo ! But good job !
Finally a game that fits the theme with a fun and original idea! It's suepr hard but everything is so polished I'm amazed you could do this in such a short time ! even the photograph at the end and the leaderboard ... just waw. Just a small remark (maybe the only thing negative I have to say and it's not even about the game) when you make updates and fixes it should be written what those were about on your game description (I'm really confident it wasnt much since early comments are also talking about a super polished game but it's just a matter of transparency). Oh and also, amazing intro, I laughed hard at this, well played all !!
@coleslaughter I'm just saying this cause on itch it says that you have updated it two days ago :)
Was quite fun, pretty simple mais effective ! I just whish there was an indicator for where the tractors would come from :/
image_2024-10-14_130910203.png
Soooooo cute, I love bees. Filled my board with bees and then wanted to fill it with honey too but the game crashed at some point :( but well played, this is super cute, well polished, the music is nice, the sound when you click on the bees is AWW only whish there was a score to chase or smth like that, or maybe some automation than prevents clicking all the time, or maybee (hehe) some bees that would bring more honney. Yeah basically anything that would tell me to play more and longer (even if I was pretty hooked up without any of those things lol) well anyway, one of my fav games this jam, love it !
Well, i've spent 30min on it and it's way more than most games of LD I think, it's FUN and it's also super FRUSTRATING haha, I really like the japanese / paper graphics, the calm music and the animations, really polished game and it's satisfying to play. But that last (last ? the 49 one) level is killing me, everything is super simple at first but it's long, and when the real difficulty start (the last swarm) it feels almost impossible and I cannot really train on it since it takes way too long to get there. I think I would prefer shorter levels but with only the challenging parts. (It's like the level before the 49, I basically just sat there doing nothing till I catch 8 and then starting moving to avoid the double firefly). A bit frustrated I could'nt finish (maybe I need to speedrun the last level to keep my supertongue till the last swarm? couldn't manage that either) but really good game well played !
Really liked your graphics and the belly slide mechanic ! It was quite pleasant to play! What made me quit the game (and maybe I didn't understand something) but I had a looot of fishes but the other pinguins would take ages to come back and I was taking so long to reach the 250$ for the upgrade... But overall nice little game !
Really love the music ! It's super catchy and also super funny ! Only downside is that at some point it loops back to the beginning while the game isn't over yet, it slowed a bit the pace of the game where the **censored** were being more and more agressive. Otherwise the game is fun, lot of humor, polished design, and while the gameplay is not the most interesting part of the game the overall makes a great solid entry !
Fun game, it lacks some animations but the graphics are nice, there was something that was really annoying for me is that i was pressing space all the time to attack, and then each times the upgrades appeared, since space is used to confirm, it would always choose the first upgrade and that was really frustrating. Also don't know why but at some point I was stuck at the top of the screen and couldnt move along the Y axis, only the X one. I think I could really play this game longer without these small inconvients but overall well played !
Hi there, I really liked the concept! On the positive side: I really liked the novelty of the idea, it's the first time I play a game like that. The music and voice-acting were really good too ! In the areas of improvement, there is a small bug when using an item from the inventory, which limits the camera in its rotation (I don't know if other players have had the same thing) PS: Mushi is soooo cute
While the gameplay itself wasnt extremly fun and quite repetitive, the mood, voiceacting, music, graphics of the "cutscenes" and humor were really on point ! Loved that "noir" atmosphere
I'm afraid I'm like the others, the game seems really fun, a QWOP like Ratatouille but I can't manage to cut :/ I achieved ONCE to cut a cucumber and was kinda happy but then couldn't cut the tomatoe :/ so overall I like the mood, the ratatouille reference, the graphics, and the IDEA of the gameplay but I canno't really test it sorry !
Really like the graphics ! About the game itself I find it quite hard to play, ennemies stack super fast and building are very weak and are destroyed in a couple shots, so if I build turrets at first I don't have enough energy, but if I build energy at first I don't have enough defense and my energy builders will get destroyed, so I think a bit of pce at the start would be nice !
Made it to the end ! REally satisfying game, loved the simple yet polished graphics, the screenshak and the bonuses ! Kinda wished there were more different though, at the end I just kept having more bounce (but I know there is a limited time in a ludum, we had the same problem in our game with our upgrades too) and also kinda wish for an unlimited mode that would be fun !! (and especially on a phone i think) Anyway well played that's a great game !
When I see all the other players scores I feel really bad since I only got 500 after a lot of tries, I always end up hitting something since I have the feeling all the hitboxes are really big haha, but I liked the little sad ducky !
Nice little game! You can really see the inspiration from There is No Game but with a bit of a darker mood, quite impressed you've done this on your own ! Only thing is the level where you add the red bricks I got stuck for quite a time trying everything and I'm pretty sure I clicked on the door before, do you need to click on it several times ? Or just wait a long time ? Anyway it was fun well played !

Yay ! Really sceptic at first since I didnt really understand the mechanics of the second row and storing units but once I got the hang of it it actually got really fun ! (Discovered the tile unblocking at the end, it was not really clear what tile unlocking for 2 units meant in the tutorial). but well played, super simple graphics but very cool game.
(Also you should probably opt out of audio, unless my computer has a problem I didnt have any sound, same for humor)
@sam-gorman Wow thank you very much for such a detailled comment, it's really heartwarming to have real feedbacks and critics like that ! And yeah all your points are valids, and we are pretty much aware of everything. About the ship guiding mechanic being a bit confusing, it's not about light or anything. At first we wanted the player to micromanage the ships all the way to the end, but it was not really funny and really repetitive. So we changed to only giving one instruction and then the ship could sail on it's own, but it became too easy, so we did a weird mix, where the player had to guide for half the path of the ship and then we would activate the pathfinding back !
About the last level, yeah it's not really clear, it's "supposed" to be harder, since it's just like the previous level where you need to make the boats avoid another boat, but this time the boat that we need to "protect" is not on the radar, so the player needs to use only the "3D" view to track the green boat and make the other ships avoid it. But it's defintely not clear enough.
Finally about the story yeah we know the ending definitely lacks elements, we wanted to put in much more and do a proper conclusion but it turns out writing a story with choices and characters is a lot of work and our main writer @kerdelos was a bit burned out at the end of the jam ! (But just in case you're curious he made with us the story for [another game](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/55/spiritweaver) that came out pretty well !
Thanks again for the review it was great reading you !
Holly shit. Disco elysium is one of my favorite games and you nailing the artstyle with the portraits and the gameplay with the neat UI and the rolls is already impressive on it's own, but the writing is sooo on point. I genuinely burst out laughing at many interactions with Jadya (even screened the one withe the frog). I usually try to give positive but also critical feedbacks but nothing actually comes to my mind for the critical part. Really one of my favourite game of all editions, congratulations ! If I wanted to make an unrealistic claim I would just ask for audio voicing for the narrator cause it would fit perfectly. (But no one has the time to do this in 48h).
Well done and HARDCORE TO THE MEGA
Woooh 1st in mood and 7 overall congratulations !!
Hi ! Would like to try this but am on linux sadly, do you plan to maybe release something for it ?
We also made a game where we wanted to create sunny vibes so I had to check yours when I saw your post. It indeed works great, the game is not thaaat fun at the beginning (a bit too slow for my taste until I undestood that Luck was broken and I had to max it before anything else) but the graphics are great, I love this simple artstyle that has a lot of personnality. But the strongest point is defintely the music, it reaaally creates a great mood. Definitely gives more sunny vibes than our game haha. Well done ! I love how you kept the scope simple but made it really well and polished !
Amazing concept ! But it's soooo hard, I don't know if it's my microphone or what but it's waaaay too hard to control the voice progressivelly, for me it's really jumping for high to low with almost no middleground. Also I would recommend showing the pitch of the voice before recording the box, maybe 1-2s where we can see which note to aim for before even recording ! Would be super useful and avoid trying stuff during the recording which break the curve !
Cute game, took me some time to understand to bump in the tree and then some time to understand how to play the flute, graphics are a bit rough but I guess it's a style, my biggest downside I would side is that I really didnt understand the speed of the tamming ? sometimes it was super fast and then for others super slow ?
It's a fun game, like many rhythm games made for Ludum, I always find it really hard to time my inputs just right, but it still works pretty well! The graphics are nice, and the dubbing is a really cool addition to the game ! Overall well played !
