I enjoyed the hike

deadroach 2024-10-08 01:47

I thought the use of street view was really cool, completely unique game for sure. Won't be playing another jam game like this this year so definitely kudos for that!

hangovergames 2024-10-08 01:47

Awesome! 360 shots help to dive into story a lot! I had a little navigation issues, i think some clues or map would be great addition

cassreads 2024-10-08 01:53

@deadroach thanks so much for the kind feedback! We had a lot of fun Saturday morning going out and shooting those 360 photos. If you look closely at a few, you can definitely see us trying to hide behind the trees haha!

cassreads 2024-10-08 01:56

@hangovergames thank you for the feedback! A map might be a good post jam addition! Maybe the characters locations could show up on there too once you find them….. Definitely something to think about!

killofox 2024-10-08 02:00

Holly hell you did so many shots!! I was not expecting the game to be this expansive! Great idea with the 360 views!

jaycee-sandvig 2024-10-08 02:43

Very neat!! The 360 view was awesome. Neat and funny. Just the right amount of background music that was very chill to listen to. I hope you develop it more post jam because it was a fun time for sure. <3

bloodfin 2024-10-08 03:26

@killofox Thanks! Running around the woods taking photos and doing 3D scans was a very different start than our previous game jam, but was so much fun!

@jaycee-sandvig Thank you! It was a blast to make, and we definitely are going to spend time on it post jam, I had a lot of character animation that didn't get it in and we had to cut a whole character to get it done on time, so definitely will be finishing it up and polishing in the next few weeks.

wavicle 2024-10-08 03:31

This was fun! I loved the voice acting and the forest setting. It took me a little while to figure out what the ring did, but I got there in the end.

titos2k 2024-10-08 10:33

Rare occurrence when game jam devs need to go out to work on the game. 5 stars for audio, too. right click and drag to look around would be good addition (browsers don't like when cursor is taken over) you can un-polish the gemstone by obtaining it for the second time ;)

kevin-meissner 2024-10-08 10:34

interessting idea, good job thanks

memz 2024-10-08 15:35

Definitely unique. Not my cup of tea, but good job

svenerik 2024-10-08 15:38

Stands out a lot, loved the audio and the general vibe, thought at first it's going to be a geoguessr with a twist haha, solid work!

haro 2024-10-08 15:38

Amazing Idea, I liked it. Good Job

lerkd 2024-10-08 15:40

Really like fairy's voice! it was fun, good job!

joror 2024-10-08 16:04

A 3D photo walkaround! Hadn't seen that before. Love the voiceovers and vibe.

kirass 2024-10-08 18:18

Cool game idea! I liked it! Good job!

andrewkennedy 2024-10-09 00:06

So clever, I've never seen anything like this in a game jam before! The voice acting was great, and the simple find-the-object gameplay worked well with the story.

I think my only gripe is that some of the "jumps" from location to location were too big, and it got a bit disorienting. Very glad that you included the map, because it helped me build a list of locations to deliberately visit.

Congrats on finishing your second game jam!

ogma-badparenting101 2024-10-09 00:47

Hi guys! I found this game, as pgorley said, pdelightful - and you seem delightful as well - thank you so much.

gaalsien 2024-10-09 08:20

Yo! Adventure in 360 photos! So unique! Like it!

00ffee 2024-10-09 08:52

Thank you for taking me outdoors. I haven't seen such beautiful scenery for so long. It would look much more harmonious if the model were replaced with paper or wooden artworks.

raivk 2024-10-09 11:35

Cool idea, reminds me of an old student project of mine. I really like the take on using 360 pictures in such point&click games. That's really nice. And it's well made, congrats!

praccen 2024-10-09 18:53

Very nice and unique idea! And a cozy little adventure. Good job!

sketchbookbug 2024-10-11 15:39

Really loved the voice acting! So much humor and fun listening to funghus! Sometimes, it was a bit hard to figure out in which direction to walk, so sings in which direktion something is would have been very helpful. But the game made you really want to go for a walk instead of staying inside and playing games, so yeah, good job 👍

skleembof 2024-10-11 16:13

Wow great work! That was both unique and well executed. I found myself struggling at first moving around aimlessly until I decided to read the book and noticed that there were supposed to be more creatures that I'm supposed to talk to. I used the description of the Naiad to find her near the water which set me on the right path to beat the game (the gemstone effect was very cool)

The only issue I had was that it wasn't clear which direction contained a path and since a lot of scenes were similar, just in the woods surrounded by trees, it was easy to confuse where I was and what direction I came from. It would have been nice to have indicators in the world that show where the transitions are so you can orient yourself better.

Also extra points for great voice acting! I tried my hand at voice acting this jam and realized just how difficult it is lol

dominic-graziano 2024-10-11 16:20

neat concept using 360 photos. you could probably find a way to do looping video to bring the scenes more to life, or spacial audio for like birds and water. overall though a neat idea.

docgeraud 2024-10-11 16:21

Full voiceover for a gamejam?! YES! I love the game, it's super cool to walk around, even if I was a bit confused and lost sometimes. Aside from that, really fun 😊

lereveur 2024-10-11 16:31

I'm not impartial when it comes to p'n'c games, as I love this kind of game since my early gamer years, so if I say I love this one with real background setting, it will not be a surprise for anyone knowing me… But even the arts and all you bring with it are good too, and I enjoyed the little journey I got through to see the end of this adventure, the only thing I noticed is that the dragon do not even say anything when I proposed to give this cute little car toy, showing more scorn than for the other human stuff it don't want, and I found this was unfairly harsh :disappointed_relieved:  Very well done, and thank you! - p'n'c is not dead :metal:

tyrannas 2024-10-11 16:44

Hi there, I really liked the concept! On the positive side: I really liked the novelty of the idea, it's the first time I play a game like that. The music and voice-acting were really good too ! In the areas of improvement, there is a small bug when using an item from the inventory, which limits the camera in its rotation (I don't know if other players have had the same thing) PS: Mushi is soooo cute

mrspeaker 2024-10-12 04:26

Very unique idea, well executed! I'm pretty sure I wouldn't help that fairy out if it spoke to me like that though. Lucky for them there wasn't a "sorry, good luck with that" dialog option at the start xD.

I liked the kind of "lost" feeling you got - made the world feel bigger! But would have appreciated an onscreen compass (or more distinctive track marks) so I didn't do so many accidental 180s... but that's nitpicking. Great job!

hawkin 2024-10-12 14:47

The 3D photo scans were a great innovation! It made a perfect backdrop to explore this short tale.

All the characters and voices were cute. And I liked that you used different ambient sounds when moving from area to area.

My only feedback is that I didn't expect Escape to end the whole game :( But the good news is that I got to speed run the beginning ;)

gamayun-games 2024-10-12 21:28

this is so cool! i like the atmosphere of your game so much :) and the combination of street view and point and click adventure is so clever!

the characters were also adorable, i am actually intrigued and want to know more about them and their world now :D as for the gameplay, i find it to be quite cool that you don't have a map implemented. it only addts this feeling of adventure and exploration. i got a bit dizzy, however, while looking for the way out sometimes :D maybe it would be cool to have more "fixed" destinations as you choose your way. i also sometimes clicked on the dialogue options accidentally as i was waiting for the characters to stop speaking. maybe adding a possibility to skip dialogue with a click could make it a bit more comfortable!

a real gem, so glad to find your game :)

wendel-scardua 2024-10-14 22:43

@tyrannas I had the same bug as you when trying to use the polished gem... But I've found out that if you double tap space (to open and close the inventory in sequence) it frees the mouse.
