The aret is fantastic!
Great job, feels like a complete game!
- Graphics and Audio design are top notch!
- I had trouble understanding why my cards were failing/succeeding when they got to the towers - A different color for visited nodes would add information to the map screen to easily see where I'm coming from and where I am on the map
Fantastic art and I like a lot card games very nice!
Wow, I'm kinda blown away by the visuals. Also, I liked the way you guys introduce the story and the whole mood around it. Beautiful work!
incredible aesthetic that was cleverly executed for the scope of a jam, and i loved the sound cues coming in as the intro built up. all that, plus the tactile juice added to the opening sequence made it immediately impactful and engaging. however, it black-screens for over a minute at the game loads.
the gameplay itself is so fun as a strategy game enjoyer. i loved getting new cards and the meta system of deciding if i wanted to trade for new ones was fun. it was kind of unclear what reaching the towers on the right accomplishes, and i wish i could cancel a card placement before hitting end turn.
there's a lot to be compelled by in this game overall, well done!
Amazing art, music, gameplay, story !
The art and music is fantastic. The story is engaging. The game loop is fun. It is sad, but I encountered the bug that prevents me from moving the cards. Restart helped. At the second attempt, I reached the pre-pre-final battle and died.
Beautiful art with a lot of personality, coherent narrative nicely tied together with music and cool mechanics. I would enjoy a bit more challenge on the boards. I managed to boost multiple Knight cards to 40+ damage and from there on I was set.
Amazing stuff, everything is so well made! Arts is beautiful while goofy. Music getting crazy over time. I really like the idea of cards that you can loose permanently. King is kind of a bitch tho.
I LOVE the art. Gameplay is captivating ngl i wanted to see more. Great job for sure!
I'm blown away by the aesthetics, stunning, lots of potential to expand
@mollusk @koloquials Ah, thanks for pointing out the ambiguous wording on the tutorial! Reaching the enemy base destroys your card, not the base.
@dmitry-mozgin Sorry about that! Were you using Chrome?
@save-sloth-studios I was using the Windows build.
I got really hooked playing this. It´s a great game, and quite an impressive feat to do a thing like this in so little time. Almost all things are incredibly polished and made with lots of care. So yeah, kudos for that.
Excelent game. Mindblowing that you managed to make it in just three days. Kinda hoping for a fully developed, standalone game haha
I'm not a huge fan of card games, but this one got me, well done with great transitions/graphics/sound!
A nice polished game, well done!
Absolutely blown away. I really want to highlight the music here. It's no small feat getting it to so seamlessly transition between all the little lovely pieces, not to mention how much work that is ON TOP of programming the project. Great stuff as always!
Not only do you have a neat little card game here, but an adorable storybook art style, clean sound effects, and *dynamic music tracks for each level?!* Amazing stuff. (also, I love the little volume birds on the main menu screen)
this is wonderful!! the art aesthetic is immaculate, so well done especially on such a short timeframe, and the quirky music adds so much to the atmosphere! it's excellent, and there's so much variation on the theme too. i like how it escalates. the card game itself is fun too - simple and easy to grasp, but with a little dose of strategy to keep you thinking about what to play where. great work!
Very interesting deck builder! The graphics, audio, style and whimsy of this game are off the charts! Love the aesthetics. But beyond that, the game has an interesting twist on the deck builder -- normally trimming your deck down is optimal, but in this game, because its about have points on the board, it changes that up. I was happy to see the balance of the game not too hard, and I was able to beat it, but I can see a lot more design space here. Great job, loved it.
Love the art and the music! The game seems cool but twice in a row on the windows build it broke and prevented me from placing cards.
Genuinely feels like a finished game that you'd find on Steam. The art is gorgeous, the music is great, the gameplay feels smooth. It's challenging but not overly so. Love the mechanics. Amazing job, truly. I'd love to see this released as a full game with more levels/cards/mechanics, you'd have my money in an instant.
@dmitry-mozgin @loveschach Turns out it wasn't a Chrome specific bug, thank you!! Should be fixed now.
Really cool game, the art is amazing and works very well ! It looked more like a demo to me, I'd love to play a whole game like this !
In love with your art style, it so unique. I would love to see a finished version of the game !
Love the artwork! Really impressive to get all that together in the time frame! The mechanics all clicked into place in a really satisfying way and the card effects add some fun twists into the gameplay to keep you engaged.
I had a blast playing this game! The graphics are incredibly strong and beautiful, truly a feast for the eyes. The music is equally impressive, providing an auditory treat that perfectly matches the visual splendor.
While I found the game quite enjoyable, it seems almost impossible to lose, which might suggest the gameplay is a bit too forgiving. However, this doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s a fantastic experience overall.
This is definitely a strong entry for the game jam. Thanks for creating such an engaging game with stunning aesthetics!
This was a great game. Really nice little deckbuilder with a gameplay i had not seen before in such a game.
WOW! I'm speechless at how cool it is.
But duke is kinda OP
Really blown away by this game, very polished and I adore the art style.
One thing that only became clear to me later was that units deal damage to the enemies defenses while they are on the field, not just when they are at the enemy castle. Perhaps that can be made more clear (Or I just read over it )
Could definitely see myself play a full release of this game
Incredible you managed such game in this amount of time, I get a slay the spire vibe in a good way * Awesome art * Awesome gameplay * Awesome attention to details
Awesome :O the art is gorgeous, music fits really well. Everything is smooth and there is a decent content for a jam, i love it!
Wow! Amazing game!
The music, the art, the paper-like quality to the textures, everything just fits great together. Really enjoyed the inscryption-like mini map where you had to make decisions on what upgrades/cards to carry over.
The unit-art is gorgeous as well!
Extra points for making a solid world-intro + onboarding, crazy impressed with how well put-together everything feels in such a short time!
Amazingly polished! When the game started playing the same melody with different instruments I couldn't help but smile. Extremely well done, congratulations to the team.
Since I always try to give some constructive feedback, I think the game is not properly balanced. Victory was always too easy and the turns remaining indicator basically serves no purpose since you can almost consistently win before your first wave even reaches the enemy barricades. It's a Jam game and balancing is super hard, so that's not a big deal
Amazing game loved the theme and music and the game mechanics not much to say negatively played to the end and loved the story
Great stuff, love the AD, the drawings are gorgeous, fantastically polished.
Loving the art and sounds/music. Not sure if I got lucky but the Knight cards feel like they trivialize the difficulty. Minor gripe that the actions go through the tutorial overlay, I was confused for a while when I managed to end turn and drag a card to the field.
wondful and amazing!!! I cant believe this game was made in three days,,this game is so mature and completed;;wish this game can have more content ,waiting for going to steam
Wow this game is so awesome. The art is fantastic and the music as well. The game itself is so much fun and I love the fact that you lose cards so you need to be careful of the card placement and timing. I realised that only after the 3-th battle, luckly I didn't lose the OP card that gets power with each death card and managed to win. Great job guys, a really polished game.
The graphics and sound match each other perfectly The deck building mechanics are addictive
Good job
Fantastic entry! The art, sound and overall theme just feel very polished. The storybook intro and cutscenes are also very impressive. The cards were sometimes a bit hard to place as you have to be quite precise with the placement, but the overall battles were a lot of fun. I only wish you could look at your deck, maybe between battles! I also appreciate the audio slider in the start menu!
What a solid nice game, I do love every bit of it, especially how the intro music is evolving on first stages. The gameplay might be a bit deeper, I think it's fairly simple, tho there are some trade-offs to think about. However I really like this entry!
It was really fun to play this game, art is very good. Game btw is too easy, if you will continue development (I think you definitely should release it on steam), make it more difficult.
As someone who've sent countless hours playing Root and Slay the Spire, I cannot appreciate this entry enough, it spark joy in me. The gameplay felt super intuitive, I had no issue reaching the end of the game. Amazing artstyle (reminiscent of Root), and I loved how you were telling a story with small details (twins infantry card). Increadible!
Cool game, I liked it!
The art and music are absolutely incredible by game jam standards. You clearly have a lot of experience in both game art and music to be able to pump this out so quickly. I found the gameplay itself to be fun, but lacking in any difficulty. The duke is an insanely overpowered card and turned basically every battle into a cakewalk. I ended the game with 3 or 4 of him in my deck. I'm guessing this oversight is due to a simple lack of playtesting, which is understandable given how much effort went into the audio and graphics design. I would love to see this turned into a larger project!
Very polished and complete game. I love the game and now I need more
This game could really go somewhere. Incredible! Super polished already just needs a more developed tutorial and some more game balance which like @merb1000 said, is tough to accomplish in such short time. I'm super impressed that you made all the SFX and art for this! What software do you use?
Played again now that the bug was fixed! Extremely impressive work for a game jam! I really like the balance between playing my strong guys and being worried they're going to die like chumps. I think this could extend to a full retail experience.
Also the music is the best I've heard in a game jam! Well done.
Amazing visual and and sound design mixed with pretty interesting gameplay, really cool ^^
A fun and cool game! I really liked the visual and the soundtrack! And the gameplay is simple and enjoyable. Good job!
i like everything, audio, arts, mechanic, magnificent to play
Wow, I was surprised when I saw my troops really dying ! A very good idea, with good mechanics. Maybe a bit too easy, but wow insane !
I really like the art style and love reading the story so much! It's very interesting concept and made me feel it should be longer!!!! (Worth replaying!!!!!) LOVE IT!!!!
Congrats on creating an absolutely fun, gorgeous and fully fleshed out game in 3 days. Intro! World map?! Cards selection?! Dynamic music? The attention to details is astonishing. This is obviously the works of experts, and it is awesome.
Wow. The work here is truly impressive. This is perhaps one of the best games I've tested since yesterday. Congratulations for this game, I specially like the art direction. Super nice entry. If you have time, we would be happy to have feedback on our proposal. 😉
Man I can’t believe how insanely well polished this is. There’s so much but it all comes as very simple and easy to approach. I didn’t really like the tutorial for the game as there was just so much dumped on the player when in reality it’s really quite simple. But otherwise it was a fun game, I’m just sorry for accidentally killing so many guys…

Wow congrats the game is amazing for a Ludum ! Graphics are so polished and the game is actually quite fun to play ! and I really liked the narrative part of it (and also the humour in it.) Down sides for me are: - it's not really clear at first that the unit don't need to reach the towers to make damages - it's a bit weird that you have three lines but you can put everything on the line without debuffs and you're almost certain to win - knights are broken, I'm pretty sure i gained more than 2 of strength per discard since at the end my knights were both at 5 and so it was way too easy to win, put a 50 knight on lane and wait two turns ! Easy win hehe
But really, overall it's an amazing ludum entry you can be proud!
Amazing game
Congratulations on the game, it's the most polished I've seen so far. Very fun and original. I liked it a lot. Great job!!!
That was really high quality! Only pain point was that knights were pretty overpowered and made my run pretty easy, but that's been said plenty often.
As many mentioned, graphics and music are top notch, and i had a lot of fun playing this game. Paint points related stuff i thought of has already been commented but i think if you really like the game, you could totally polish and balance it a bit further to be publishable!
Love artt style and music. Lack of challenge.
Super nice and cozy game, the art direction is amazing and the story is told well, you nailed your genre completely ! only thing i would have liked is having more options for the gifts and the card selection, i wish i could chose to not take somethign or have the choice between 2 different cards.
Only bug i saw is the exit button not working, overwise very smooth experience
The art direction is INCREDIBLE!! Really nailed the style :D I was able to win without understanding the card mechanics completely, but I enjoyed the experience!
It's bonkers how polished this is. I feel almost bad to be playing it for free. Card-based games tend not to be my thing - I space out so quickly - but I'm really enjoying this one. The art and general aesthetics are so damn good too.
Congratulations on the game! The quality you managed to achieve with just the two of you in only 3 days is simply stunning! For a jam, the game is just perfect. Nothing to criticize for a jam game. If I may go further, the gameplay has a lot of potential but could use a bit of polishing to offer a more substantial challenge and deepen the puzzle and reflection aspect. But that's going above and beyond what's expected for a jam.
As solid as games can get. Absolutely loved the idea of permanently destroying cards once they reach the castles. A few more cards, features and longer story and you have a full game that can be released on steam! Congrats to both of you on this amazing entry :confetti_ball:
Beautiful art and interesting mechanics! What a fun little game, great job! <3
This is incredible! Very well polished, fun gameplay, nice story and art. Very impressive, keep on making games!
So impressive, great work. That's my favorite game so far
Great fun. It looks and sounds superb. Mechanics were easy to pick up and allowed some variety. I really liked the story. There were a couple of issues where I couldn't place a card when it felt like I should; not sure what was going on there. This is an excellent entry. Good stuff :8ball:
This is a ridiculously good game. I can't belive you managed to do so much in such a short time. For starters, I love your take on the theme, and love the genre of game you picked -- deckbuilding battlles is one of my favorites. The art is 10/10 and so cohesive. The music is also incredible and sets the mood so well. I loved the storytelling theme and the overarching story -- a powerfully direct retelling of the paranoid monarch trope. The card designs are also great both in mechanics and humor -- I felt for the dead twin. Anyway, it's all 5 stars for me!
The loop didn't really click for me immediately, not until I had to play through a few failed attempts to get the gist of all the mechanics. But once it did, I properly enjoyed the game and had tons of fun. Special thanks for adding the knight -- it's busted and I like it. Here are my concerns, however: 1. Having **tooltips** for each point on the **map** before clicking it would help a lot 2. It took me some time to notice that my units actually **deal damage each turn** without having to reach the towers first 3. At first, I didn't quite understand that my **cards are destroyed permanently** *(I was oblivious of it till the very last battle on my initial attempt)* 4. The 'left mouse button' animation in the bottom right corner seemed slightly out of sync with the music's rhythm, and it really bugged me for a bit (but maybe it's just me)
All things considered, an incredible and very well polished entry. Hats off to the team, you did a great job. I'd wishlist this game for sure.
easily one of the most polished game jams I've ever played, period. Everything from the art to music to card movement was just really impressive. One critique I have is that the game was very easy, those yellow knight were OP!
Funnily, I also made a card based game with the word "writ" in it
The visuals are awesome! Cant believe it was made in only 3 days!
Great game, enjoyed playing through it. I found the campaign lacking in difficulty, but I hope you guys will continue working on the game. Good job!
So awesome to see another card game. Not to mention one with amazing art! Fun tactics especially when you start to gain new cards between battles. Excellent tutorial and tooltips that are very much needed for this type of game. Great job!
Art is so great! Congrats on submission!
Unfortunately, the game crashes after the intro :( (playing on firefox on mac). But I'm still going to rate the sound and art, which are amazing! :D
Awesome! Enjoyed the visuals and music every minute! If I could give it a 6 for graphics, I would give it a 7 :)
Amazing! Absolutely loved the graphics, the story and the music!
All hail the Sloth!
very cute game with neat music! i like the mechanic of the game, but the battles are too easy.
Very well made! Most polished and fun game I've seen so far
What a fantastic game — the gameplay is fun and juicy, the vibe is immaculate, and the art is gorgeous. I love seeing good analog textures in games and loved seeing the other games y'all have worked on over on itch.io/Twitter. Does Kornél do art aside from game development projects? Would love a link to any social accounts if so! Gracias :)
@roman-hyacinths Thank you! You can find him on instagram at @kornelille!
Excellent graphics and music, gameplay is a little on the easy side, but fun nonetheless! Storytelling cutscenes is a great touch, love it. I liked some card designs, like the twins. Would be nice to have some undo functionality for card placement. Great work!
This was really fun! I liked the lanes mechanic on top of it being a deckbuilder. It did feel a little easy, and I think the lack of challenge led to me missing some of the game's nuances until later in the story. Loved the narrative and art design tho, and y'all killed it on all things polish too. With some balancing and more content I could totally see this on Steam.
amazing everything! loved the story, art, game play and music.
Thanks for bringing this to me! I'm glad I got to see another amazing game~✨ https://youtu.be/NQZKC1nIL38
simply incredible game on many points!
first, the graphics, of course. this is the game with the most beautiful graphics i've seen in a while, and for a game jam, that's insane, congratulations to the artist! when i had to trade some of my troops i was lowkey sad because they were all so cute and it was so hard to chose which one would be left behind :(
the gameplay was really cool and complete, again that's a crazy amount of effort put in that game, and it felt super good to play. i just wish there were more and more levels. seriously, if you want to make a full version of this game, i'd be so happy haha
i have nothing more to say than: incredible job!
The visual polish and sound design are incredibly good and make the game very satisfying to play. I do think however that the game play itself needs balancing since I was able to get by just placing random cards and not being particularly strategic. Understandably this is not easy to do during a jam though. I still had fun just because of the vibe it has and how nice it feels to interact with the game.
This is the best jam game I've played in terms of art for sure! I was also very surprised there was a map screen and actual events that interact with your deck. Gameplay-wise, I was expecting it to be similar to a CCG and my troops battling enemy troops. What you have is definitely fresh to the genre, but for me personally it's not very challenging or engaging. This can be easily addressed with some balancing and experimentation though, you have insane amount of appeal already, the game can be really huge!
When I read tactical card-game I was getting excited. Overwhelmed by all the explanation (which is nice that you can toggle it) I figured I'll just learn by playing the game. I'll place my cards, and will see how I mess up. But I didn't mess up. And in the next level I didn't either. I was able to beat the game by just placing cards at random basically, and that is unfortunate.
I really like the art style, and the story is funny. It's amazing all the things you managed to do in such a short amount of time. I get wanting to make it easy, since it's a jam game, but a bit of challenge won't hurt.
That's beautiful! Great job! The music, the art, the gameplay are all top notch. There's nothing to add.
Perfect graphics and sound design. Very nice animations and game feel
