LD49 — Unstable

Jingoku by Skyeward 2021-10-10T15:24:48Z

Absolutely incredible, best game I've played so far. Lovely sound design, leaderboard and achievements (??!??) and really polished visuals. Not to mention the game itself is original, fun, and gives you that "just one more" vibe. The only level I had real trouble with was the menu and the phone, felt like the timer could have been a bit longer for both. Overall, super enjoyable game, I could totally see this being a full release.

Clay Boy by davision 2021-10-09T02:07:07Z

Now this is something. Getting a handle on the controls was challenging, but eventually rewarding. Would have loved a way to move backwards with s.

PTSD Fishing by KuKuRammus 2021-10-05T00:49:51Z

Poor cat. Made me laugh out loud the first time I hooked a fish.

Burning Ravager by sinclairstrange 2021-10-22T03:21:48Z

Congrats, awesome sound and music!

CryptoCoaster by the.jahn 2021-10-05T00:54:50Z

Super fun, buy low sell high. I really like the risk reward that's baked into the game. Like @smilewood said, the sound effects really sell the whole game!

Pistolman by lekaleksay 2021-10-09T01:53:52Z

This game is cursed, I love it.

I would have loved an option to hold down the fire button and rapid fire :)

Karawan by Rongo Matane 2021-10-08T21:20:04Z

Very tricky strategy game. I gave it several shots but always fell short at the wall of wood. You have to plan your turns way ahead of what I was thinking. Need to make sure your wagons are doing something each turn too!

Weasel Words by eldogg 2021-10-10T00:30:50Z

What a mood. This was a super polished game, the audio feedback while typing was super satisfying and the music was so good. Hope to see more!

Eudora by EdevJogos 2021-10-05T01:08:28Z

Fun and fast game. The ladder is tricky at first but I actually enjoyed trying to time it after getting the hang of it. Maybe if it was just a tad slower?

The Alignment Problem by cireneikual222464 2021-10-05T00:27:49Z

Super cool idea. The ai definitely spooked me. I really liked the depth of field that you used.

Potion Panic by LittleW00D 2021-10-08T04:13:17Z

Fun little game. I actually liked the controls once I figured them out. I could see some new patterns or areas being added to increase the difficulty. Once you understand the mechanics, it plateaus in challenge.

LCD DREAM ESCALATOR by Hydezeke 2021-10-08T02:14:34Z

@unclemitch911 We're working on putting up a Bandcamp album! I'll make a blogpost when it's ready!

LCD DREAM ESCALATOR by Hydezeke 2021-10-11T22:23:13Z

@fupi glad you enjoyed the music!

If anyone else is having issues with mouse sensitivity, there is a wrench in the main area ;)

LCD DREAM ESCALATOR by Hydezeke 2021-10-21T11:37:13Z

@jerem-watts Glad you asked, so I have a chance to plug Pianobook.co.uk! It's full of free, community made Kontakt instruments (and some are even made for an open source sampler called decent sampler).

The one I used is called Micah's Choir:

https://www.pianobook.co.uk/packs/micahs-choir/

The only caveat being you need the full version of Kontakt to use it. It's worth getting if you haven't yet, but wait for a sale, it goes on sale for 50% quite often.

Divine Intervention by YogurtTheHorse 2021-10-10T00:48:30Z

Super cool vibe. I especially liked the art style and the music! It was super cozy and it compliments the "stressful" parts perfectly and keeps them in check.

Pinfall by geist_191 2021-10-08T20:52:28Z

A surprisingly challenging take on a platformer! I loved the aesthetics of the board and the music.

HONK III by Tricky_Fat_Cat 2021-10-08T21:02:29Z

Fun doomlike! Would have liked the enemies to have chased you a bit more aggressively, or be wandering around a bit. I actually really like the speed they come at you.

loop by peterfiftyfour 2021-10-09T03:50:51Z

Very lovely color palette. I was thinking the water would rise up, but was pleasantly surprised I got to keep trying to climb even after I fell in.

Alchemeow by Robert Li 2021-10-05T01:51:41Z

Leaving a comment to hopefully play when its fixed!

Alchemeow by Robert Li 2021-10-06T04:38:08Z

Awesome game. Really hard to figure out the right combo!

Manicat by RexTGun 2021-10-08T23:13:11Z

I found the cabbage.

Potion Commotion by Frozendoze 2021-10-05T00:43:18Z

Really solid little game! I got stuck on "Just Send It". I really enjoyed the color pallet, gave me plague knight from Shovel Knight vibes.

Sugar Fever by Cain Sanches 2021-10-10T00:06:44Z

I liked the art! I think a couple things made it unintentionally frustrating to play. A lot of the obstacles are close together and so it feels like an inevitability that you're going to run into something. I would try either spacing out the obstacles, or keep the character from auto advancing and simply use a single button to jump. The other thing that makes it difficult to judge how far you're jumping or how close you are to an obstacle is the animation of the character. He abruptly jumps forward during one of his frames, and that can cause you to run into an obstacle against your will. Overall, a good first game jam!

Population Balance by benchase 2021-10-05T00:31:27Z

When I click download, all I'm getting is a .class file. Am I missing something? Would love to give it a try!

Horse To Home by tims 2021-10-05T00:59:04Z

Once I understood the movement system, it was actually fun to try and chuck those horses in their stables. 5* for the theme.

Baba Yaga by Teegan 2021-10-10T01:13:42Z

I love the controls! I got stuck on one of the gaurd towers, but enjoyed what I saw. I didn't realize what the bell was doing at first, but after a while I saw the crows flying away and I regained balance of my house. Fun game!

HELP HATE IS EVERYWHERE. CANT STOP IT GOD by ashikurofuto 2021-10-08T20:40:58Z

The music was awesome, musician to musician.

Dread Knowledge by subcreation 2021-10-05T01:47:25Z

Pretty harrowing run. I managed to get only Winter to the end, with one health and one sanity.

The Trials Of Yoltic by Antom 2021-10-08T20:45:56Z

The controls were a bit hard with using shift to run. Maybe you could swap it, with the character running by default and have shift make the character walk instead. I liked the music and the 1bit art style!

Realignment by Mediflect 2021-10-05T01:28:02Z

It was fun writing music for this! I really enjoyed the dialogue and having that choice at the end. Felt very much like choosing between Sirrus and Achenar at the end of MYST in a way.

Left Beehind by mistercheezymoon 2021-10-05T01:29:40Z

Hey there! Link to the download is broken. Let me know when it's back up!

Left Beehind by mistercheezymoon 2021-10-05T02:35:32Z

Ah man dude that was hilarious. Glad you got it fixed up. Really loved the boiling line style animation.

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Type Traveler by foolmoron 2022-10-05T01:48:03Z

My fingers are broken and it was worth it! If I had one critique, it would be that the malfunction sound scared the crap out of me the first time it happened.

Impending Doom of a Thousand Kitties by RalfZ 2022-10-08T17:20:29Z

Picking the cats up is super cute!

Sonar by erikiene 2022-10-08T17:41:19Z

Loved the overall mood of the game. I agree with the other points, I feel like I'm fighting the controls a bit. I did enjoy the mouse movement, but even just having the sub rotate to face the mouse when you right-click would make it feel a lot smoother, I think. Would also love an option to just hold right click instead of having to press it every time I want to fire.

BeaT-Rex by Andreas Roschal 2022-10-08T17:16:38Z

Very complete feeling game! I think all the mechanics really work well together, and I love seeing a rhythm game take on the popular vampire survivor type games.

I loved the music, It was great how every level layered more in, and it was dependent on the enemy type. My favorite track was definitely the jungle.

[X-ED OUT] by Nash 2022-10-08T18:08:52Z

Cute little game! I would have loved if the coins either stayed around between waves, or your character had higher move speed.

Carton Carrier by dimlight 2022-10-08T17:03:15Z

Loved it! I really enjoyed how the difficulty started to ramp up as the game went on. I do agree that the 10 seconds makes for a difficult time putting something together, but hilarity does ensue because of it.

Choo Choo Crossing by Hydezeke 2022-10-05T13:20:15Z

@ritz1231 Thank you so much! I usually put together an album for each Ludum Dare I do. I am still working on the cover art for Bandcamp :)

It will be uploaded at https://alto13.bandcamp.com/ if you want to follow in the meantime. I'll also be posting a blog on here announcing it.

Choo Choo Crossing by Hydezeke 2022-10-10T03:26:19Z

Curse of the Wereburger by Brainloaf Studio 2022-10-07T01:47:37Z

Overall, a really fun game! I enjoyed the artwork and the audio.

Bearly Fishing by SakuH 2022-10-08T17:26:39Z

Cute little game. Loved the music!

Resource: Remixed by Phillip Scott 2022-10-05T00:49:22Z

Lovely little game. I loved collecting the resources and getting upgrades. It ran surprisingly well on my old 2015 MacBook! I was really impressed with the draw distance. The blurring in the distance was a nice touch, as well as the cutaway to solve the issue of having the character go behind an object.

My one critique would be that it was hard to tell what the colored bubbles did until stepping through them or getting close enough to see the arrows floating in them. The purple ones were a bit disorienting at first, but once I knew the map better, I didn't mind them and was even able to use them to my advantage!

Resonance by Mediflect 2022-10-05T01:06:20Z

Awesome outer wilds vibes. I absolutely loved the music, it fit the atmosphere perfectly. Loved the β€œchug chug” when picking up the clock. ;)

πŸ“Ί You Call The Shots! by Choo 2022-10-08T17:51:32Z

Really disappointed that the Bee movie was not in it.

In all seriousness, awesome game. I loved how it was such an interesting take on timing and having to anticipate the qte's for the movies you're unfamiliar with. Really fun, kind of anticipating the direction of each scene.

LD55 — Summoning

You Are Gnome-Caller by uvwar 2024-04-17T11:23:48Z

I screamed, I cried, I clapped. Thank you for allowing me to become Gnome Caller. Their tiny laughs and haunting melody will live with me till the day I die.

The Royal Writ by Save Sloth Studios 2024-04-16T01:42:40Z

Absolutely blown away. I really want to highlight the music here. It's no small feat getting it to so seamlessly transition between all the little lovely pieces, not to mention how much work that is ON TOP of programming the project. Great stuff as always!

Butler! Summon the Imps! by jummbus 2024-04-16T02:51:06Z

Really tight entry. Everything plays off each other really well.

Lovely music of course, doubly so considering it was party composed on LSDJ on the GBA. (Everyone should check out the soundtrack posted in the description if you missed it.)
