Good mechanic, love the inclusion of the speedrun timer. But this *needs* an option to lock the cursor or fullscreen. Couldn't beat it because I kept clicking outside of the game window, defocusing the window at important times. Other than that I can tell this game is very polished and has a great soundtrack.

salohcin894 2021-10-05 00:43

Really solid little game! I got stuck on "Just Send It". I really enjoyed the color pallet, gave me plague knight from Shovel Knight vibes.

forik 2021-10-05 00:49

Cool visualization. Love this colors.

ominusgalaxy44 2021-10-05 00:51

this game was extremely fun. the controls felt natural and the idea was good. keep it up!

cornflowerblue 2021-10-05 01:19

Great mechanics, very juicy indeed. Cute music.

frozendoze 2021-10-05 01:37

@mactinite Yeah thats a good idea for keyboard+mouse controls! But our team quickly realized how much better the game feels on gamepad in general, I HIGHLY recommend gamepad!

mactinite 2021-10-05 01:41

@frozendoze unfortunately not an option for me at the moment :(

jake-marks 2021-10-05 03:42

If your game only has 1 mechanic it should be a good one. This is a good one. Very fun and tricky! I was able to "Send it" eventually, but quit at Kobe.

megamasterx 2021-10-05 15:38

Heyyy! Another potion game! This game feels like it was built for speedrunning. A few collision quirks but overall a good feeling game and very visually appealing.

shaonde 2021-10-05 16:13

simple concept but great game

anthony-servedio 2021-10-05 16:15

This was really fun!! I agree with the person who said that this game only has one mechanic but it’s a really great one! Good graphics, too! Nice job!

garet 2021-10-05 16:46

Played on the version 1.0. Nice mechanic ! A little hard to master I must say, the speerunning timer is a nice touch !

Also, I'm a sucker for the music

badpiggy 2021-10-05 17:42

Tough game lol. Very fun none the less, loved how the mechanic could be used in ways making most of the puzzles very non-linear. The actual jump was a little unwieldy sometimes but it always felt beatable. Great visuals and audio as well. Great job on this

saltysa 2021-10-05 18:25

The game is really pretty and I love the music! I have a hard time orientating the explosive potions so it made level " quite hard to beat but it was really fun otherwise

jrevel 2021-10-05 18:34

Really fun game ! I saw it on CinderBlocks stream and instantaneously wanted to try speedrunning it ! My PB is currently 4:10, and I'm sure I can keep improving it ! https://puu.sh/IgeU6/5b86905a56.png

The level design is really good at teaching mechanics, and the difficulty curve is pretty good, except for two levels that I find a bit frustrating : the one just before the portals, in which I took a lot of time to find a consistent way to get to the top, that I still feel clunky, and the one where you have to catch an orb while jumping between two portals, because with the way it is calibrated, you need to rely on aerial control, which is not really fun as you have really poor control in the air. Other than that, it's pure fun !

becky-rayner 2021-10-05 19:14

Really love this! Super fun to play, nice music and l love the visuals (so cute!). Controls feel really smooth and it overall is pretty clean. Great level design and ramping of difficulty. The tutorial menu at the start gives you time to get a feel for the controls before starting the levels which I really like. Great job creating this in such a short time!!

terri-gaminglunya 2021-10-05 19:59

I really like the idea! It is a simple concept, but quite challenging (at least for me :D) The character design is really cute and i am in love with the cover artwork!!

yigit-doruk 2021-10-05 20:36

This far most my favourite entry in this jam. Brilliant gameplay with amazing soundtrack. Everything is very polished, I felt like playing a fully-released commercial steam game rather than playing a jam game. You should definitely release this game, I'm looking forward to this project. My only problem is not having a full-screen option and not having a web build, other than that it's a solid 10/10 fun platformer. Keep up the good work <3

qaeron 2021-10-05 20:44

Amazing gameplay, beautiful vibing, challenging but fun, the details are absolutely insane. Excuse me while I try the upgraded post-jam version!

100th-coin 2021-10-05 22:17

I'm a big fan of the non-traditional jump methods in your games. Man, this game gets incredibly tough, but I stuck with it!

LD_GG.PNG

I love the NES style graphics! I know this is a problem with the engine and not your game, but the window is so tiny, it's a bit rough to play. I wish it could go full screen! That in combination with all the particles makes it hard to track the player in some rooms.

All in all, it's an amazing game, and definitely one of the best in the jam. Nice work!

myles-doupe 2021-10-06 02:05

Very neat game. Love everything about it, but I have no idea how to beat Send It. Tried from the top of the wall, the middle of the wall, the bottom platform. I'm always a couple blocks away.

chris1919 2021-10-06 03:00

I played 6 Feet Under last LDJam so I had to give your game a try! Very polished game. Great ambience with the music. The gameplay is really satisfying and creative. I can't wait to see what ya'll come up with next!

steve7411 2021-10-06 12:09

I really like the game play, it's super fun and challenging.

coderaurus 2021-10-06 12:12

Amazing game! Very interesting and varying mechanics and level designs. And a very catchy music. Only **infuriating** issue was cursor unfocusing from the game and clicking other windows.

One of the best entries I've played this jam.

jose-bonilla 2021-10-06 15:24

Really interesting game. I didn't manage to beat all levels (I was stuck on the level with the really big gap, couldn't jump high enough even when getting to the top of the ledge). Fun game, solid mechanics. I did not like that you can't really full screen and I kept clicking outside of the window (even on scale 3). I also did not link it much with the theme. Notwithstanding, I really enjoyed playing it. Great job!

neilkleistgao 2021-10-06 15:37

Nice idea! Another cool game about the potion.

ismael-rodriguez 2021-10-06 16:34

Cool game, looks great! Wall jumping is very hard though, and the mouse + window thing was an issue.

Good job yall!

phobos001 2021-10-06 16:50

Extremely good entry! Simple, solid mechanics with great, challening puzzles! The momentum conversion ones were especially ball-busting ]~[

Music was and art was also very well done. You guys did a fantastic job on this entry! o7

I wasn't able to finish the entire game on my first playthrough, but this video should help give an idea of how new players will play your game <3

https://youtu.be/xxzNFsRvgg4

leon75 2021-10-06 17:45

Very enjoyable! I enjoyed the challenging difficulty and unexpectedly long game length. The mouse and keyboard controls are much harder to use than they could be, but nonetheless still servicable. Fantastic work, I like this a lot!

saintheiser 2021-10-06 17:56

Not bat as mchanic but impossible to play. Mouse always fly out of window bounds. Is it too hard to lock mouse inside window when you make aiming with it?

thestoff 2021-10-06 17:59

Great work again you guys! Very simple and clear base system that you flushed out with a good variety of levels!

robonaut121 2021-10-06 19:06

Amazing game! (Also had the best soundtrack of the jam so far for me :-D) Very juicy and satisfying potion throwing! The main thing that felt bad is the terribly slow walk speed. The platforming is definitely momentum-based, and giving the player at least double move speed would really help players get a head start. Otherwise, great game! (I beat it in 19 minutes)

frozendoze 2021-10-06 19:45

@phobos001 Thanks for making that video!!! Glad you enjoyed it! And dang you got stuck right at the final level. It is the most difficult level for sure.

frozendoze 2021-10-06 19:47

@saintheiser Yeah i couldnt find a fast way to add locking mouse. I strongly recommend to play the game with a controller if you got one!

zhanna 2021-10-06 20:18

This was very fun indeed. I like the main mechanic even though it's a bit hard to control, music is great as well. Couldn't beat "just send it" level even with that hint. Loved the game anyway!

jrevel 2021-10-06 21:29

d9d22e366c.png My best so far, I think I can still gain some time if I don't do mistakes

mirando 2021-10-06 21:45

@robonaut121 If anyone is interested - here is song in nice quality for you all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poQzInXtkDY Also thanks for liking music

elmos-minion 2021-10-06 22:10

I loved the soundtrack and the visual contrast. Great work! Looks a lot like an NES/Gameboy Color game.

brainloaf-studio 2021-10-07 00:04

Fantastic gameplay, super polished too! I really love the mechanics of propelling yourself and discovering new techniques like wall-jumping and wall-launching. It's all intuitive once you get the hang of it. Also a big fan of the art style and the music, it all goes really well together. Great work!

heiach 2021-10-07 00:45

Amazing! Could actually be a real nes game! You actually might've *made* it work on a nes emulator too! The difficulty curve spiked a bit soon though.

leuthil 2021-10-07 04:19

Really well made game. It's amazing how it seemed so impossible at first but then I really started to get the hang of it near the end. Other people have said it already but fullscreen would have been great for keyboard + mouse users. I know you do suggest playing with a gamepad though.

The movement felt great. The level design was pretty good. I was also happy that there were a few changeups in the levels and in what mechanics were presented (no spoilers). The visuals were charming as well, and there was some good sound design. Overall a really great game.

littlew00d 2021-10-07 23:10

A really solid entry with great art and music. The gameplay feels very polished with well designed levels that make excellent use of introduced mechanics. It's great to see how much everyone has improved since the last LD entry, which makes me excited to see what you make for LD 50!

At times the player would get stuck or the momentun wouldn't transfer.

For some reason my anti-virus see's the game as a Trojan, so please enjoy my potato pc whilst you can.Untitled.png

lucas-viana 2021-10-07 23:40

Just what i expected for the 6 feet under devs. Another great entry for this ldj, perfect game! I love the music, is a true banger!

vimlark 2021-10-07 23:42

Absolutely loved it!

ryjcio 2021-10-08 00:22

Very nice platformer game! Absolutely love art presented here. Everything is in perfect harmony. Also level design is great, I was little sad after finishing game. I wish there were more levels to play. Congrats!

6smith 2021-10-08 02:04

super well executed idea! no complaints honestly

dis0rder 2021-10-08 10:07

Hmmm, interesting

This game bears a striking resemblance to one particular indie [NES-game.](https://morphcatgames.itch.io/micromages)

[zFeUwf.png](https://morphcatgames.itch.io/micromages)

A coincidence? I think not!

---

Your homage to [Micro Mages](https://morphcatgames.itch.io/micromages) seems fun!

I'm a Linux-user, and unfortunately when trying to run the Windows-build it's all glitchy and unplayable :frowning2:

If you're ever planning to put out a Linux- or WEB-build, I'd like to try it out!

frozendoze 2021-10-08 11:33

@dis0rder I've not seen this game before but it looks cool! But also very different from Potion Commotion :D And yeah I wish I could easily make a linux or web build but we use Gamemaker Studio 2 and those export modules cost alot of money :(

brotherst 2021-10-08 13:58

On Gamepad unfortunately for me, the right joystick just moved the mouse cursor around, so was still able to click outside the window. Will hold off on rating, just wanted to let you know :)

kage 2021-10-08 14:33

@dis0rder Micro mages was definitely an inspiration for the art, thanks dude!

frozendoze 2021-10-08 14:57

@brotherst What the? o.o That must be on your side, friend!

xsangyhix 2021-10-08 21:03

Really good game. The visuals and audio feel very polished and it even has more quality of life features than one would expect from a jam game. This could be easily a finished product. One of the only things that was missing was the theme itself for me. The environment was very stable and the character being hard to controll is not a good implementation of the theme in my oppinion.

tricky-fat-cat 2021-10-08 21:55

This game is extremely fun and stylish, the core mechanics is entertaining and enjoyable to paly. The music is just awsome. Well done.

pomo 2021-10-08 23:01

YO @kage @mirando @frozendoze Come on too scared to submit your game too me this time around ? I promise I wont destroy that hard <3 I'm waiting.

frozendoze 2021-10-09 00:56

@arthurds Submitted ;D

epicgamefan 2021-10-09 02:47

Fun game, really enjoyed the particles and the physics. Thank you for sharing.

nyles 2021-10-09 06:41

Fun lil game

cozygamepals 2021-10-09 16:16

Spectacular game. the controls are tuned so perfectly, as I was getting more and more control over my character, the levels kept demanding more. The levels were super interesting, too! They kept progressing in such a satisfying way. Overall amazing work! You should all be very proud!

kyrio 2021-10-09 17:05

I suffered. But this is an amazing entry, very polished, excellent concept and an incredible amount of content. Congratulations!

jitspoe 2021-10-09 21:52

10/10 for the fun factor on this one. I love momentum-based games! It was also entertaining to exploit the mechanics in ways that weren't really intended. Saved a clip, since we were all invested in this technique: https://clips.twitch.tv/AbrasiveCrispyPuppyANELE-9saHcooP4eardKR7

stephenwhoskins 2021-10-10 03:50

I only play your game now, lol. Time for the fan art to begin!

python-b5 2021-10-10 13:33

Wow, this is extremely fun. Really nice job! Felt polished and tight. I'm a sucker for good platformers :) I also like the NES aesthetic a lot.

Great job!

e-m 2021-10-10 18:37

Really cool)) Simple but interesting mechanics

michelangelo 2021-10-10 22:58

The music is catchy, grahic is simple but very effective and mechanics are well implemented. Each level is different, and teach you something new everytime. Hats off to the level designer. But i'm sure each of you worked a lot to reach this result. Hope you polish it, and to make a full game out it. I'll definitely play it!

rookrules 2021-10-11 22:43

damn only if I had enough time to get to the end

euler-moises 2021-10-12 03:04

I liked very much! It is definitely a very challenging game. Reaching the end is for a few. Very beautiful and very polished! I loved the song, it was very professional! The art is also fantastic. I didn't find any bugs, so congratulations to the programmers.

Congratulations to the whole team for the excellent game

xpoho 2021-10-12 13:38

Отлично, хоть и сложно!

zimny11 2021-10-13 08:34

Amazing LD entry. So well polished. I really like the NES-ish art style. Although I'm so bad at this game, I enjoyed it a lot.

varundevs 2021-10-21 04:30

Nice I really liked the idea of using "explosive potions" to complete the level and the art fit really well keep up the hard work GG!! :v:

rjmarzec 2021-10-21 10:43

Wow, this game was crazy polished! I loved every second of it between the clean gameplay, great music, and really pretty artwork. Amazing job!

itsboats 2021-10-21 19:54

this one was def one of my favorites! Very polished, and fun I really liked that there were several ways to approach each level too :D

SO GOOD!

jrevel 2021-10-22 08:28

Great job, I just fell in love with this game... I hoped it would score a bit better but the ratings seem actually fair. I have tried to speedrun it for the last weeks, and I found a few cool tricks, here's my personal best, just below 2min ! And there are still a few mistakes, I'm sure it is still possible to improve it by 10 seconds or so... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vfL7phvfWQ
