Absolutely hillarious. Amazing.
This was pretty fun! Difficult, but fun.
Don't worry, I didn't feel comfortable with the theme too. Cute!
Interesting art style, clever use of the theme. Nice!
The art style is simply amazing. I love the sketched feel. The game required thought and the level of creativity shows. Nicely done!
I enjoyed this one, but it felt like it needed SOMETHING. Not necessarily sound, but I would love to see this expanded upon.
A game about programming?! SWEET. I did enjoy this.
I. Love. This. Music. I don't know why but this was extremely fun! The art style is pretty snazzy and fits the music in its own special way.
Haha! I enjoyed this way more than I should have!
The random level generator is a snazzy touch for sure!
The engine turned out nice. I had a good bit of fun with this entry!
Functionality aside (I can certainly relate to the fatigue factor), this was a pretty interesting concept. I would love to see this expanded-upon in the future.
Cutsie! Audio was fantastic too! I enjoyed this one.
Looks like we weren't the only ones to give turn-based a shot! I do like the mixed-genre approach. I look forward to seeing a further developed version down the road!
This was really fun to me. I like the build-n-run concept quite a lot!
I can only describe this game as ruthless. It's great fun, but good Heavens, is it hard.
I. LOVE. THIS. GAME. The effort is seriously visible, and every element meshes perfectly.
Given the timeframe, not bad!
Cute graphics, interesting concept, and a great music/SFX setup makes for a very fun time. Loved it!
@Dark Acre Jack: We haven't paid for an SSL certificate yet. We also didn't do a ClickOnce installer, its just the Zip file and XNB assets.
Thanks for the feedback! We've left feedback on all entries and will continue to!
I have increased the bandwidth on my Azure storage. Try again please and thanks!
Thanks for the feedback! We are certainly planning on taking this one beyond the Jam. The mouse controls...I haven't honestly thought about that. I do like the idea of having the abilities in a 'skill wheel' around the current turn's character. I made it Keyboard-Only simply due to the 10-second theme. I may increase the turn timer after adding skills aft....*rambles*
You may have to redownload the application. I changed the Profile to HiDef (Some more advanced GPUs require it, and legacy GPUs use it. JUDGES: This fix follows the jam rules, as it was a small setting change and has not changed the game itself.
Try the mirror link if the original link doesn't work :]
Very interesting take on the theme. I enjoyed this, though the asteroid spawn rate could have been a bit more increased. The 'powerup roulette' is very intriguing, and I found myself enjoying this quite a bit. Nicely done!
The train sound scared the crap out of me, but the graphics in this game and the pseudo-isometric feel are a nice touch.
I seriously enjoyed this. Glitches aside, this is nicely done.
Everything ties nicely together with other aspects of the game. Controls and game flow are smooth as butter. Nice work!
HA!
The text didn't mesh well with the background, but it was interesting either way.
I had way more fun with this than I think I should have. NICE!
The lack of some sort of documentation or instruction is a dealbreaker for me. Snazzy graphics, though!
I had fun, save for a score. I wanted to gloat to my wife about this, but couldn't :{ Regardless, it was fun!
The game's use of the theme wasn't entirely evident at first. It certainly makes up for it in sheer fun. Nice!
Starting small and building up from there is never easy. Voice acting was a unique and very nice touch. I would love to see this expanded upon, it has a lot of potential! Nice job, and grats on finishing the First Dare!
Bonus points for Phil! The art style really shined in this title. I certainly enjoy anything having to do with destruction in a simulated enviornment. Great fun!
An interesting game with pretty interesting mechanics. Simple. Clean. Nice work.
Absolute Chaos! Just like any good zombie game should be! Very fun to play.
THAT POOR SLOTH
I spent way longer than I thought I would looking for that house. I never found it, but enjoyed running around!
The responsiveness of the controls left a little bit to be desired. I also found myself trying to find out how to get units to go to specific ones. Functionality aside, it's quite aesthetically pleasing.
The sound effects and music mesh well together, but don't mix with the art style too much during gameplay. I did have a great deal of fun with this entry, however. Nice!
The sound effects showed thoughtfulness, and I seriously enjoyed this game.
AH! Nice concept. Keeps it changing!
Spent way too much time playing this lol. Fun game!
I enjoyed this. The graphics are really snazzy, and I enjoyed just running around to see the terrain a few times. :)
The music mechanic was epic. The difficulty isn't too harsh, and the flow of gameplay is smooth as butter. VERY nice entry!
20 minutes? NICE. Played smooth as butter.
Cute, Creative, and fun! Nice job! I love the art.
I was ROLLING. Nicely done hahahaha.
This was a great deal of fun. It has kind of a speed-run feel to it, and I dig that. Yarrrrrrgh!
As fluid as a running river. Nicely done.
Creative as what! A lot of thought went into this concept, and I dig it.
Uhm...What did I just play? LMAO. I will say this is an...interesting concept.
Very nice. This concept is seriously clever. The sounds were a tad on the loud side. Snarky comments and clear rules make this very good. Nice!
The graphics all tied together very nicely. I certainly enjoyed this!
The no-restart is not necessarily a dealbreaker for me (as my Jam entry has no reboot after you finish combat), but is a little annoying given the amount of time you spend playing the game. Overall, the sound, graphics and gameplay are certainly redeeming qualities.
OSX Only? Shame. I'd love to give this a shot.
I don't see any usage of the theme in this game.
Great fun, difficult and frustrating at parts, but they were overcame fairly quickly. Nicely done!
Boy, that escalated quickly. Clever as ever!
Very solid game. I enjoyed it.
Hmm....Multiplayer is a fantastic feature. Client-to-client is a little nervewracking because I probably won't be able to find a server for this in 1-3 weeks...but nicely executed!
Hmmm. Interesting. I played through it 3-4 times and showed a few of my friends. Very intriguing.
Fantastic graphics. Had to hunt down 7-zip to pull the RAR, but it was worth it. My Unity Web Player kept crashing on this, no clear way to progress beyond the first visual. A few plays got me beyond it. Not bad at all.
I really like the menu boop and click sounds. The graphics and animations are nice, and the movement is smooth. That blob loves to 1-hit KO me sometimes...
Took me a few times to get the hang of the rules. A great deal of features and snazzeh graphics are a nice technical bow for this game. Nice!
I enjoyed this so much! Reminded me of a stage in MegaMan. Very nice.
The layout of all the levels are simply fantastic. The art style is a nice touch, the sound is masterfully used. Cute entry, nicely done!
THE HUMOR. a 10 second mad-lib is quite a clever idea!
Words are currently escaping me. This is an awesome game. The cell shading is pristine. The slow motion is expertly done. Mechanics and controls are tight. I can't find anything wrong with this game. GREAT job!
Certainly fun in its own special way. Time warp was the most interesting part, for sure. Nicely done!
A card game!! Say it ain't so!? I'm a sucker for these kinds of games anyway, but this one was really fun (aside from the crashing bug).
Absolutely perfect use of the theme. LOTS of fun!
Certainly fits the bill. An interesting spin on the theme. Nicely done!
Played through a few times to get the hang of it. I just..can't..beat..your score...
Gotta say, this is an...interesting..entry.... Funny concept.
This game is POWERFUL. The audio blends perfectly with the graphics. Art in playable form.
Phenomenal and powerful. I really like the effects, and the mechanics mix pretty well together. Plus, I really freaking love flying through space.
Slumber, can you screenshot the error?
Creative and interesting. The popups had me rolling.
Given time constraints and what you had to work with, this turned out well. *begins reminiscing about younger days using The Games Factory in 1998*
Absolutely stressful, but well done.
I'm not necessarily fitting the theme, and I had to use a different browser. Bit frustrating.
Stellar look and feel. Well done!
VERY interesting mechanics!
This is a VERY creative entry! Congratulations on your first Ludum Dare entry! For the time constraints, you did a really good job.
Great graphics! I struggled with a bit of the mechanics, but this was a REALLY fun entry.
The art is really cute. I did end up playing to the end. I had a lot of fun!
Had a Java VM error, but got it fixed. I could only get 2 out of 5. Nice!
Oh. My. God. I don't think I would ever see an entry to a modern game competition on the C64. I had to dust mine off to take it for a spin on an EasyFlash (ironically the last cart I have). High marks!
I made sandwiches. I enjoyed it.
Clever!
The voices and animal noises got a hearty chuckle out of me. I like the sort of quest-driven gameplay style, it shows a good understanding of mechanics. Nicely done!
Sadly, the game crashed when I was near-dead. I did, however, get 128 kills and a 21845 score! Nicely done!
I would absolutely love to play this, but alas - I don't have an android Device. It looks pretty fun!
@Cladheim: Explosions were planned and are actually implemented for the Spawner, but the script that makes it tick...I couldn't get it working in time. Thanks!
@Paps: It's just a blob, really. Promise! :}
This turned out great! My roomates and I got a pretty good kick out of it. Well done RLK & Friends!
Networking in a Compo entry is impressive. I did manage to get one game in with one other judge. Very well done.
For a brawler, this entry was really fantastic. Show those snowmen what-for!
After getting the hang of the controls (My roomate called them 'soapy'? I don't think that's a fair judgement), it was pretty fun!
Innovative use of the theme! It did crash a few times, but I stuck with it until I was able to play it. Clever!
Not sure if its an isolated incident, but the level with the ball on the bottom righthand corner of the corridor off to the side didn't progress further. But after the prim snowman scared the crap out of me the first time, I was kind of ready for everything. The music does a great job setting the feel.
A very interesting take on the theme. You've got a VERY promising future ahead of you! Keep up the great work!
The music feels like just the right tempo to fit the game mechanics. Took me once or twice to get it knocked out. I couldn't go back to the purchase room from the second room, which was a bit of a bummer. Good entry!
The fact that there are multiple levels shows a great deal of care and design. The snowman was a bit sluggish, I got owned several times, but ended up getting the hang of things. Also, oatmeal bath game designs are best designs.
I couldn't download anything from the Uppit sites. Thankfully, I was able to run the JAR from Mega. This entry shows a great deal of effort - it shows! After I got the hang of things, I wasn't getting owned as much :P.
The music track for this game is stellar. Perhaps that's because I have a soft spot for electronic arcade-feeling sounds. The mechanics are really nice and easy to learn. Well done!
This. Game. Rocks. The graphics are really well done and the sound lends itself to the overall concept. Great concepts, great game!
Well thought-out. The purchase system shows a good bit of effort that went into this submission. Nicely done!
I actually had a good bit of fun with this submission. Very well thought-out!
Very creatively done! It controls pretty well. Despite the theme not being immediately apparent, you did quite well!
The audio was a bit on the loud side, but this entry was pretty fun! The different kinds of ships gives a good sense of variety.
I got a Java Exception error when starting it up. I won't score the game as a result, but I will say that the randomness makes for an interesting entry.
Perhaps I did something wrong, but I never got a response from my chat buddies. It's all good though. At least I safely shut down my...HEY. ☃
Today, I learned that I really suck at pattern recognition. That said, I did play this a few times. It's pretty nifty!
This is the most comprehensive and well-fleshed-out entry I've seen yet. Absolutely good story telling. Consistent art, sound, and story makes for a fantastic experience.
I could certainly see where there may have been thoughts of more features. The upgrade system is quite interesting and makes for good gameplay. I tried 3 or 4 different compositions to see which one was the most effective.
Thank goodness for 1920x1080! Well done!
I didn't necessarily dig having to install, but it was worth it. Well done! I agree with @Roktom, teleport was a tad bit overtuned.
The puzzle aspects of this entry are really well thought-out. Job-well done!
I got a pretty good Castle of the Winds vibe from this (My age is showing... :/). It does get pretty rough as time goes on. Well done!
Oh man, the controls are silky-smooth. The explosion effect is probably my favorite part. Very well done!
Hmm. This one shows effort, but I certainly get the slendy-vibe from it. ☃☃☃☃☃☃
This entry unfortunately suffers from the controls. More often than not, I found myself hunting for the proper keys, and after 2 fail-and-retries, the game wouldn't allow me to start it again. The concept is really good and mechanically its a solid entry. Well done!
Floored. A great entry! Astounding gameplay and a lot of detail and effort was pretty clearly put into this game. Epic!
Upgrades! Good projectiles! Fitting music! I had a lot of fun with this one. Very well done and very thoroughly fleshed out.
Graphically, a very neat little game. I could see where you were going with the concept, but the bugs made it suffer a little bit. I'd love to see a finished game!
Amg. Lighting is a great touch to this entry. I felt it was a bit too short for an adventure, but it shows thought and a lot of effort.
I'm a pretty big fan of shooters. Nicely done!
I played this WAY longer than I should have. Showed my team as well - VERY well done! I had a few issues with the controls, but that really didn't matter. Phenomenal entry. Welcome to the Ludum Dare!
Welcome to the Ludum Dare! Your concept and execution is top-notch. I can see where corners had to be cut, but you pulled this off magnificently. I would absolutely love to see a post-jam version.
Spun up a virtual machine to give this a gander. The patterns certainly make a nice boss fight.
A fighting game! I haven't seen one of these in a Ludum Dare before. Graphics are pretty snazzy - a very in-depth entry. Nice!
Welcome to the Ludum Dare! Very well done. I'd be pretty livid if I had to stay later and deal with cleaning up the slime. The graphics and sound mesh together really well and the controls are pretty solid.
Welcome to the Ludum Dare! For your first entry, well done. Thank you for crediting the sources - even in jam entries that's uncommon but a very kind courtesy to those who worked on it! As for the game itself, I felt the controls were spot-on but there was a bit of a collision issue when too many skeletons were trying to have a nice calcium-filled moshpit with the princess. I was able to duplicated it only once more, but not again. I didn't score lower despite this, but a good entry!
Oh MAN. The sprites and animations in this are top-tier. I do feel like floaty (and gravity-defying) jumps breaks immersion JUST a tad, but all-in-all this is a really cool entry. Interesting mechanics with great art!
The transition to the second level was extremely buggy. I think that the movement felt fantastic, especially the wall jumping. I'm a bit biased, but the graphics are absolutely phenomenal. Every animation is impactful and the sounds compliment them quite well. There are a lot of things that can be done to polish this, and I think this shows signs of a title that was a bit rushed in a few points. Perhaps budgeting time a bit better and perhaps cutting down on the featureset (at least for a jam) would help polish this out and ensure future entries get to completion with a quality that your team can hit. All things considered - a very solid entry.
I like these sorts of graphics because they really highlight the game mechanics. Fortunately, this title is REALLY solid. Spellcasting was a treat and your use of lighting is pristine. A little laggy on my laptop, but after getting to a beefier machine it really shone. You should definitely be proud of this, I'd love to see this continue development post-dare!
This is GENUINELY creative! I had a blast managing everything. Solid entry!
This was a **BLAST**. Design wise I think that you and the team shot a little high but what you've managed to accomplish in a Jam scenario should certainly be applauded. The audio on this entry is second to none as well. I need this game finished and in my game library ASAP.
This is probably one of my favorite titles so far! The music and graphics are PRISTINE and tie together nicely. I legitimately could *not* stop laughing while playing this. The quips the NPCs have are the perfect icing on this cake. Great entry!
This is a terrific entry! The arcadey feel of the game really lends itself nicely to your combination of art and sound. This was immensely enjoyable on a touch device, I'd love to see this continue to be worked on and refined!
The complexity of this title certainly is on display, and I think your team did an amazing job tying things together. The controls were fluid and your level layouts lent itself well to the overall theme and goals of the game - it gave a surprisingly high level of player agency and control.
Well done!
This is an IMMENSELY clever game and I love seeing what you're able to do with PixelVision8. This hit a really good nostalgia chord with me and I thoroughly enjoyed playing through it.
This is clean for the time that you had, I think that this entry has some room to grow and I hope you continue working on it going forward!
Quite an interesting take on this theme! Admittedly I jumped right in and got immensely confused on the disconnect procedures but understood after a few failures. Aesthetically, this title nails it and you managed to create an air of panic pretty well. Good work!
The fact that you managed to pull off a local co-op multiplayer game in a jam is actually a really cool feat! I do feel this title fell victim to feature creep though, in future jams it may be a good idea to build simple and expand out in order to ensure you hit the time limit without compromise.
That said, I did enjoy this game after me and a few friends figured it out. It was difficult without any in game or in level clues as to controls or goals (not necessarily handholding or tutorials - it's not an easy task!), but you can poke around and eventually figure it out natively. I'd love to see this continue to be worked on in the future and can't wait to see your future game jam entries!
Got a few performance hiccups here and there but overall this was a pretty fun title. Would love to see what this looks like after some extra polish!
Hey there. This is kind of a indirect way to fulfill the theme and I respect that! The game play controls are fairly smooth but had a few quirks regarding the rooms. Restarted the game and cleared it without issue so it seems kind of inconsistent. Aside from that, clean graphics and a clear goal. Well done!
Please feel free to check out our title. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/you-live-like-this
The best entries have the simplest controls! For doing everything on this one solo, you did a fantastic job. A lot of people fall prey to scope creep and I think you hit the balance just fine in terms of mechanics vs quality of assets. All around, very strong entry to be proud of!
I....
I'll be honest I didn't really expect this. But you nailed the theme and earned every point of your high humor rating. Creative!
I am thoroughly blown away with how well this looks and how this turned out! I do agree that this lacks a little in the gameplay department but this entry honestly left me wanting to see what this would look like with some more work, polish, and solid core gameplay around it. Kudos!!
Always fun to see the interpretation of the theme. As a sucker of rhythm games I actually REALLY enjoyed this entry. Well done!
Okay, I have a few thoughts on this. First off, The player control and controls in general are EXTREMELY well done. Your animation quality on this entry is top notch, though the normal running speed could probably be toned up a bit. Dodge rolling felt incredible, and it's not something I see many 2D Action titles do well.
The level layouts are phenomenal and really nail home a sort of mage-centric building would be and your team should be proud of how well you did! Good use of particles and lighting effects as well.
All around, a strong submission!
I encountered quite a few collision quirks (The bear floating randomly on some of the icebergs) and I accidentally closed the tab twice while trying to crouch (Shoutouts to CTRL+W) BUT.. This is a /really/ pretty game. The bear's animations are SUPER sleek. Use of checkpoints was definitely a necessity. All around not a bad game!
I wasn't able to successfully craft any potion combinations, but I think I may have missed something. I do like the interpretation of the theme in that being a shopkeep keeping things alive is intriguing to me.
This is really slick! Your core game design is really clean and perfect in the scope of a game jam. This was a joy to play and the controls are fluid once you get the hang of it. Well done!
I'm utterly blown away with the quality of your entry. It's clear that a lot of love and effort was poured into every aspect of this, including its core mechanics and design. All considered a very well put together game that you and your team have created!
Mechanically, this title really nails it. I had a blast with this despite a few collision hiccups here and there. I don't know if it really hit the theme however, but the game itself is extremely fun.
Holding off on rating because I couldn't launch the game. Also getting a libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll error on launch.
Was able to get it running. Extremely well done and the design of the game was solid. I think pacing-wise you did just fine and overall this is an enjoyable and thoughtful entry.
Tried to take this for a spin but got the following error: Error: Couldn't load project data at path ".". Is the .pck file missing? If you've renamed the executable, the associated .pck file should also be renamed to match the executable's name (without the extension).
Going to hold off on scoring because this sounds phenomenal! Please let me know when to try again.
First time seeing Godot used! Scored now that I was able to run the game and I'm sure glad I did. A lot of love went into this and I had a blast playing your entry!
Mechanically, this is a pretty interesting title! I COMPLETELY forgot Blender had a built in game engine basically. This gave me a pretty good arcadey feel so very well done! Hit 94k score before stopping.
I did NOT expect a platformer with this theme! The music really drove home this title. Player character was a little loose which made some of the levels a little more difficult than I think they should have been but having to maintain the baby is a genius compliment to this entry. Well done!
Looks like your Itch.io project isn't published, I couldn't try this! :(
I thoroughly enjoyed this! A platformer is a difficult genre to tack this theme on to and I think you did well with it. Few quirks that I see other commenters pointed out already but aside from that I'd love to see this polished and hope that you continue to work on it post-jam!
After several attempts I finally got an escape. While this sort of game isn't my cup of tea, this one is really well put together! You did a good job of conveying the player's state and options and I think you did a fine job of keeping the core design simple while fleshing it out in the time limit. Would love to see this worked on post-jam!
This. game. is. BEAUTIFUL. I agree that the animations could be tweaked a bit in terms of transitioning from one to the other, but altogether this is a good take on the theme and has a nice.. homely vibe? Very well done!
Looks like the WebGL build either isn't published or isn't uploaded. For a solo project, this is alarmingly well put together! A rhythm game is immensely difficult to pull off and a unique interpretation of the theme but echo the feedback that some sort of visual indicator of performance may help out a bit more. All considered, given the time constraints, you did a phenomenal job and I look forward to seeing future Dare entries!
Welcome to the Ludum Dare and congrats on your first entry! The first one is always nerve-wracking but you get a rush after its finished. I hope you continue to do them!
I actually think this is a good start and would love to see this expanded on further. You clearly took some risks and time thinking outside of the box, and I think that though you played it safe with the theme, your execution was good and on the right track.
The art is really nice here! You succeeded in creating a really nice and pleasing atmosphere. Challenging enough and quirks aside this is a really good job for your first game. Welcome to Ludum Dare!!
The core mechanics in the context of a game jam I think are sufficient. I'd love to see what this title becomes with a little more polish and I hope you work on this beyond the Ludum Dare! Very well done!
This is decently balanced and pretty fun! Very well put together and looks like it was scoped JUST right for a game jam.
@denhette Thanks for the report, I've been chasing this bug down all Dare and I think I managed to finally crush it. Mind trying one more time?
@moonblast What's the error? @chesiq The mixing phase window says you have to press A and D to mix the potion, you have to press them until you complete the brew! Once completed you're given the option to hand the potion off.
Mechanically, this is a absolute gem of an entry, The genres you went with are risky bets in a time crunch but for this title, it paid off. Certainly among my favorite LD49 games to play; Very well done!
Looks like the WebGL build for this isn't working :( The windows version does though thankfully. Pretty interesting take on the theme! The scope for this entry is pretty high, but your team did a good job of tying it all together. Very fun to explore around as well! Congrats on your entry!
@chartle I'm using Edge Dev on Windows 11; I also tried Chrome as well to the same result.
I always love seeing what you're able to do with Pixel Vision 8. The fact you've managed to incorporate a full level editor into your entry is nothing short of incredible! Fantastic entry.
I am //REALLY REALLY BAD// at this game. But that may have been because I was laughing through most of my playthrough. I thoroughly enjoyed this LOL
I'm a sucker for a good puzzle. I think the only problem I encountered is that it's a bit awkward using two keys for some instances of movement, but I totally understand the reasoning. Isometric games are fun like that! Overall good entry, you have a great aesthetic between the music and art.
Now THIS is stylish. I love the effects you went with and movement is crisp. Extremely fun entry!
Good concept and a solid compo entry overall. You did good with the time you had! With some better design management, I think this would be better but for a game built from the ground up I enjoyed it! Congrats on your entry
Pretty good entry! Installing Core was worth it to give this a shot; didn't get a terribly high score but enjoyed the game all the same. Good work.
This is REALLY **REALLY** creative. Games that go outside themselves for mechanics are really intriguing, so very well done.
A solo game?! Congratulations! This game is absolutely gorgeous and oozes with style. Movement is a treat and you blend your art and audio masterfully. Twin stick shooters can be a bit difficult to put together so major props for doing so in a game jam! Had an outright blast playing it.
Grabbing a friend for this entry was worth it, I certainly give props for a multiplayer game in a jam. You've gotten good feedback so far. I think you did a great job with the overall gameplay mechanics and matching the theme!
This is an incredibly well polished entry! You've got a good balance of gameplay and I think you did a great job overall with this.
Ah! A fellow alchemy entry!
The art style you went with really lends itself to this, and you did a great job of giving the player room to learn and make mistakes. A fantastic and whimsical entry <3
This is certainly a sleeper hit for this Ludum Dare. Only suggestion I can think of is for a clicker game, it'd be cool to keep your previously selected item...selected if you choose to buy it. Aside from that, this is a nice, chill entry and the news feed is a great way to break up gameplay and give the player feedback about their selections. Well done!
Well done on getting this one across the finish line! I enjoyed this quite a bit. Typing games are hard to put together in a short amount of time so major kudos on that front.
Pretty good title! Lot of thought and attention to detail in your entry and your game mechanics lend itself really nicely overall to the game.
A great compo entry and a visual treat to behold. Simple in its mechanics, this still ended up being an enjoyable and well put together experience. Congrats!
Overall a fun game! Congratulations to the team on a good entry.
Yup. This is it. This is my personal favorite game of LD49. I'm a bit biased in my love for Battle Network, but every bit of this game oozes style and flair.
You can specify a default resolution on Itch.io on your Manage Game page! Had a similar issue with our entry. This game has a fantastic mythical feeling, your font choices and writing lend itself really well to the atmosphere! It's always good to see alchemy-based games and you did a good job with this one.
I've been doing Ludum Dare for quite some time now and your game has taken the 'meta' cake by a wide margin. A title that actively encourages you to break it (or un-break it!) in order to do things is a clever and enjoyable experience - well done!!
The art for this is utterly incredible and after getting the hang of the gameplay, I thoroughly enjoyed your entry! Kudos for a great game.
This was FUN AS HECK. Your game nailed both the arcadey feel and the "Jump N' Shoot" feel and you blended them masterfully. I played this probably a bit longer than I should have!
Heyyy! Another potion game! This game feels like it was built for speedrunning. A few collision quirks but overall a good feeling game and very visually appealing.
This is INCREDIBLE. The second level honestly took me by surprise, your first level is perfectly set up to get the player used to the game mechanics without being too "in your face." Your audio is amazing LOL. Extremely good entry.
This game is STRESSFUL, but in a good way. This feels like a great mix of an arcadey feel and more modern bite-sized games. A jam game that makes you think is a good jam game! Very well done.
This is a super arcade-like take on the theme! Had a blast playing it, Theres a lot of chance for some additional polish but overall this was a joy to experience. Well done.
For a compo game this is pretty intriguing. It's unfortunate that it's throwing virus warnings, unfortunately YYG's [article on the matter](https://help.yoyogames.com/hc/en-us/articles/360031016592-What-to-do-if-your-game-is-false-positive-detected-as-a-virus) is not very helpful... I hope people give this game a shot! Congrats on clearing the compo.
This is a pretty ambitious game for a compo entry! It took a while to get used to the game and figure things out.
Taking the entry at face value as a tech demo, this actually strikes me as a good entry. I echo the opinions that the lack of feedback hurts, the scope of this game is pretty high for a jam but there is incredible potential in this title in a genre that has not seen much love lately. I sincerely want to see this game completed.
LD Games that go beyond the tradition and go to unique or different platforms are always a joy to see. This is extremely clever and well worth it to try! Making use of the phone's sensors was a great call and I really enjoyed this entry. Well done!
Congratulations on your first entry! It's an incredible experience and so is your game! I'm pretty impressed with how much content is in here, exploring is a treat and its a surprisingly well crafted and fleshed out world. Well done.
This is CHAOTIC in the best way. Probably one of the best implementations of the theme I've seen to date. Very well done!
Your entry certainly rewards patience, after feeling like I got the hang of it, it felt incredible just moving and jumping around. You've done a great job of putting pressure on the player which makes for a good experience overall. Very fun and well made entry!
AHH. This is adorable! Your game is really really fun and a treat to see visually. Congratulations on your entry!
At first, I was extremely impressed with the animations and graphics, the audio was cute and built up a really nice asthetic. As the game progressed, I was a bit confused as to what exactly was going on. It wasn't until I got to the phase where coins stopped appearing that it clicked and when I came to the realization, I was enthralled. I had to find out what was next. This is a really good entry and it was a great touch to include development screenshots and pictures. Overall a solid entry
I am =floored=. This title is downright incredible on all fronts. Well done!
I think the only way to describe this and my time playing it was 'entrancing'. I have a soft spot for rhythm games and this one hit it in spades. Controls magnificently!!
@dalbinblue That was due to a bug in the second round exclusively. This has been fixed and a new build has been uploaded.
@dalbinblue That's a miss on my part; Enter completes that dialog just like round 1. Well played! I'm tuning the enemy health down and have replaced a build once again. Thank you so much for taking time to let me know what's going on.
@sndr The Assets folder in the ZIP needs to be in the same directory as your .app folder in order for TF:T to work on OSX.
@sndr This was tricky. Our OSX tester managed to get it working by moving the folder inside the .app file I believe.. but that issue appears when the Asset folder is not in the right location. I apologize for this, but I'm not familiar with OSX in the slightest... I'll ask the OSX tester what he did and @ tag you as soon as I get a response if you'd like.
@sndr osx setup.PNG This is an example of what our IOS tester has his structure set up like. Please let me know if you continue to have issues.
You've absolutely nailed the player conveyance for this. I don't think I've ever played a jam entry in any Ludum Dare with as much mood and ambience as this one. Extremely well done!!
I enjoyed this! It felt a lot like a solid resource-management simulation in that my decisions had a pretty tangible impact. Well done.
The art style lends itself really well to this game. I feel like the items could be randomized after you turn them in to add a tiny bit more challenge in addition to the time constraint but overall a very well put together game! I can't fail to mention the writing being top-notch as well.
This was a wonderful experience - It's rare to find functional local multiplayer games! Interesting animation and fun audio. Well done!
HTML5 version is broken, but the windows version worked just fine. I think this was a very clever blend of two genres and your dialog plays to it masterfully. Your graphics, sounds, and mechanics all play together quite nicely as well. I think that the platforming aspect of this could have used a little more fleshing out but the core game loop is very clear. I hope to see this one continue post-jam!
I found myself stumbling over inputs, but I think you built a very cohesive game here. The feedback you've gotten so far is all pretty solid so I won't mimic it, but I hope you continue to work on this post-jam!
It's a cozy title, I found myself wanting quite a bit more on this, and I hope that you continue working on this title. Mechanically, this is a superb game.
This is a great showcase of the power of PixelVision! The mechanics are extremely fun and cohesive. I hope you're able to clear up the bugs to finish out this submission!
I think this was a very solid start! I'd love to see this further fleshed out. Some of the scaling is goofy but that's likely because if you don't set the scale or anchors in Unity, on different resolutions any sort of stock UI elements get really stretched.
I think you did a fantastic job with what's here; I hope I can see the finished product sometime!
This was stellar! I really didn't expect these genres to mesh as well as they did. Conceptually it didn't make sense but as soon as I picked it up, I knew this was gold.
Don't sell yourself short! This game seems to have been a bit overdesigned but I really think it houses some serious potential. I hope you continue to work on this outside the Ludum Dare.
I'm genuinely impressed with this! It's not immediately clear what the dual theme is supposed to be, but I quite enjoyed taking my time and exploring. I encountered a few bugs regarding enemy shooting post-death, but it looks like that's already been reported. There is *quite* a lot that could be done to expand this further, and I hope that you do!
I was pretty entranced by this title. After spending the better part of 20 minutes on it, I finally got the hang of it all and I could tangibly feel myself improve, which was honestly the most rewarding part of the experience. I earned a win, and that's a great feeling.
Overall solid title, Your art made this one really shine. It just bleeds cuteness throughout!
This title was absolutely hilarious. You nailed the aesthetic completely and your dialogue was well written! My only qualm is that there aren't really any sound effects to compliment things, some tavern ambience would have done some good I believe but all around this is a great game. Well done!
It took a little bit to get the hang of this, but I can certainly tell that a pretty good amount of thought went into this title. I enjoyed it altogether! Your card concepts are diverse enough to be clearly impactful.
I think that the randomness was a bit difficult to deal with but all around this is quite enjoyable. I hope you continue to work on this game post-jam - I'd love to see what your vision turns out to be!
This was a fantastic entry! I actually ended up playing this for nearly an hour, it's quite addictive! The voice is a very nice touch and drives home the feeling you're trying to convey with this.
I'm absolutely enamored with this game. I think you married the concepts very well. This is really cute and controls pretty well. It did sort of drag on towards the end but I think that was mostly because I wasn't doing too well. Well done!
I'm weak. This game is hillarious. Though I don't think it hits the dual theme thing *quite* that well, that pales in comparison to the absolute gem this is.
Congratulations on your first entry! I'm super sorry your teammate left you in the midst of the jam, It's one of the absolute worst feelings. I think that despite this you came up with a really good concept and, with some refinement, this could be a great title. I hope you keep working on it!
This. Is a gorgeous game. Every single animation can only be described as joyously fluid. The sounds compliment the game perfectly and you masterfully wove the two modes in a way that worked with the level design. The games controls are equally magnificent! Extremely well done!
Congratulations on your first Jam game! I encountered a number of different bugs, namely when hitting one ramp into another, I tended to get stuck in buildings pretty easily. The music was a bit on the loud side and I think some sound effects may have made this a bit more of an experience, but I do think you all are on the right track!
This is an incredible entry, I had an absolute blast with this one. I hope to see it continued!
Congrats on your entry! I'm very much looking forward to evolutions of this. This feels like a really solid game that would be perfect on a mobile platform.
Not only was this a creative but the art style kind of blew me away. The animation is super fluid and this was incredibly fun. Well done!!
Congratulations on your first Dare entry! My first game as a child was Epic MegaGames Pinball for DOS. I remember it vividly and this invoked those same feelings. Interesting blend of genres - though I think audio would have done really well (I do understand the constraints around it though.) I hope to see more of your work in the future!
I do believe some ambience would have gone a long way for this title, but it's a solid start that is wide open to be expanded upon. Good art style and a cute end!
You absolutely nailed the ambience of a stadium, the audio in this title was really rock-solid. Typing felt really rewarding in that the games' feedback was well presented. Congratulations on your entry!
This was quite enjoyable! I feel like it could have used some sort of ambience in the background in lieu of music, but this was a good mix of challenge and mechanics. Well done!
This was a gem! I'll be honest, I didn't expect this blend of genres to mix very well but am glad to say that I was completely wrong. Very well done on this entry!
