Pretty interesting in a game-novel kind of way. Like the branching paths! Nice work!

Very good themeing and style. Thought the coin purse "getting coins from above" mechanic was fresh and interesting! Some suggestions: - it is wasn't very clear how to kill enemies. I almost wish there was a way to "double hit" them with either mechanic to kill them. - collecting coins from above got kind of annoying after awhile. - some of the sounds felt kind of grating after awhile (namely the dizzy sound effect). It happens frequently, so something less intense could be better.
On the whole though, it was a really solid entry. Great job ya'll!
I'm super impressed with the amount of assets here for the given time. The first cutscene was fantastic, and the song was catchy and non-intrusive. I really dig the katamari damacy style rolling a ball, I just wish that I could keep it for longer! The controls could definitely be improved, but on the whole I'm really impressed here. Great work ya'll!
Holy cow, I really appreciated the art in this game. The models were really good and everything felt really cohesive with one another. The music was the perfect mix of interesting, but not too intrusive, and was really nice. The style of this game was seriously amazing.
The core mechanic was pretty solid, however, I wish that there was a little bit more room to roam. I frequently found myself running into trees in the tight corridors. One thing that I think would go a really long way is some sort of "great success" sound/visual when you complete a potion.
On the whole, a really fantastic entry. Great job!
Pretty solid! Having to make decisions about "am I going to chop off my arm for this valuable steak? But then I'll lose my ability to chop salads" was really fun!
The action curve was a bit all over the place. There were moments where a ton of things were happening, and others where I was just waiting around. That may be what it's like working in a restaurant, but as a game it's not as fun. ;)
I'd recommend adding a few extra non-limb options, and make the frequency of orders just a little bit more. Additionally making the money more prominent would be good as well. On the whole, a really good job ya'll!
Fantastic mood and theming. I loved the pixel art and animations. There was really good indication of my current state, and the urgency of running out of health.
The merchant was a nice addition, but kind of hard to locate. Using power as currency was clever!
The levels felt a bit "feast or famine". Like there were times when I was totally overwhelmed, and others where there wasn't really anything happening.
With some polish this could be really good! Great job!
A very interesting melding of multiple classic phone games into one. The core mechanic was a bit hard to get the hang of, but felt really nice once you get there. There were times when I felt like levels were impossible, but maybe I just suck, haha
I really liked the theming, and feel that there is some potential here with some tuning! Great work ya'll!
The game had a really nice set of features that built well on each other. Can really tell that a lot of thought went into how the game develops. Great job!
I found myself wishing that I could move faster by default, and the speedup powerup being almost too fast. With some tuning, this could turn into a very interesting resource-management style game. Keep up the good work!
I struggled to really get the hang of things, primarily because controlling via a keyboard felt really delayed and unresponsive. I loved the theming and the art had a really good aesthetic. The sword swing felt like it had a lot of weight behind it with visual/auditory feedback, but it didn't have the "slay through enemies" that I was hoping for. On the whole, seems like a really solid start, but needs some tuning and balancing. Great job for a first go-round!
Echoing what @ohfiddlediddle said. Really thought it was interesting from an artistic expression perspective, but not really a whole lot as far as gameplay is concerned. Maybe that's an intentional decision based on the theme? I'm not sure, but you made me think about it, and that gets you mucho points.
I honestly could see this being installed in an art museum with a single button. Really solid work.
Really liked the sprites you had going. The game definitely feels like it is in the early stages, but seems like it could have some promise!
Indications as to health, and a little more snappiness with controls/attacking would go a long way here.
This seems like a really awesome start to a game. Also, hell yeah a Godot game!!
++ Super good atmosphere
++ the assets are really impressive for such a short amount of time
++ interesting controls. I like the idea of having a single thing be the focus, and then manipulating it in a lot of different ways
-- it was hard to tell if things I was doing were actually doing anything. Could be good in a puzzle sense, but not very satisfying. Maybe more impactful sound effects?
-- I wish there was more! It seems like there's lots of potential here
Good lord that was an experience and I loved it. There is so much quirkiness that went into this game into a really awesome creepy time.
++ there is so much mood here. Everything seems to fit together wonderfully from the art style, sound effects, and kind of wonky controls. Was a joy.
++ Just when I got confused about controls, they popped up telling me how to play. Excellent!
++ I LOVED the stop-motion world-building at the beginning. It almost ended up feeling like a horror-based myst.
-- Selecting the minigame felt a little obtuse with the cycling 4 images. I think I would have preferred something where I scrolled through one image and then hit a "go button". But at the same time it forced me to have more time with those creepy animations, soooo idk.
-- The "game end" screen left me a bit confused. Was I supposed to get everything 'cursed'? Or does that mean I lost that particular minigame.
Cool idea and I can tell a lot of thought went into writing dialogue! ++ lots of branching paths. Seems like it has a well thought out text navigation system ++ dialogue is really solid. Can tell a lot of the time went here and it really helps build an atmosphere
- I wish there was a way to go back - I don't like feeling forced to see everything
This was awesome! Fantastic job ++ the sound effects were really great and felt impactful ++ the gameplay felt really good. like walking around and stuff was just nice ++ I love the idea of being overwhelmed by cancer really well executed.
- I wish that my gun had more "umph". Like I'd rather see more enemies and be killing many of them than having fewer that are harder to kill - A instructions screen could go a long way. Seems intentionally vague, but I wish I knew more before I got in
Nice job! Seriously a really solid little game. We made a similar game, actually, and I think you got the distance balance for all the intractable things down really well. One suggestion I'd make for future improvements is being able to play with the mouse would be awesome!
Very nice tranquil game! Nice job!
++ great art across the board! So cute!!!
++ the sound effects make things feel fun and responsive
++ I loved how you took one core mechanic and changed it up to work in a variety of ways
-- from a gameplay perspective it didn't feel like there was much urgency. Some sort of way to "lose" would help make this more fun, I think
-- the camera/shooting has some issues, but for the most part was pretty solid
-- the platforming was really hard because of the controls. I feel like some tuning here could go a long way
@megamasterx thanks so much for letting us know! I changed the name of the executable at the last minute and didn't test 🤦♀️. Should be working now.
This is awesome! Seriously, great job:
++ super good atmosphere building.
++ the music and sound effects are killer
++ impacts from rocks feel really powerful
-- the controls are a little wonky. I feel like I would have preferred using the mouse and having more enemies
-- I felt like there were times where I didn't know where the things I needed to hit were. Maybe greying out the "swarm" or making there not be a scroll to the stage could help!
This was really fun - great job ya'll!!
++ the character models and animations were awesome. Not sure if you got them from somewhere, but they looked great
++ solid concept. Felt like it could be a mini-game within a larger game
++ the voices were really funny!
-- I ran into some odd issues a few times. Game locking, not knowing where to go, etc. Could use some polish, but it is a gamejam.
-- the controls felt a little wonky. I almost feel that this would be better as a FPS? Ether that, or some more work should go into making the controls feel tighter.
Nice entry! A very fun infinite-runner game.
++ nice simple controls
++ blocks felt like they were randomly generated, which was neat
++ music was super solid
-- wish the obstacles had some more flavor than just blue blocks, but I assume this was just a time thing
-- some tuning on controls could help make it feel faster. Right now it feels a bit on the sluggish side
I *LOVE* the concept. Would be so cool to see this get some more love. As others have said, get a grey screen at first, but if you wait it eventually pops up!
++ the idea is super novel and interesting. Could see this being implemented into a really dope board game or web application
++ art style is simple but gets the point across
-- I'm sorry ya'll are having server issues. I'd really like to try it out fully with other players!
-- a splash screen saying "loading" rather than just a grey screen would be solid on startup.
I think this is the start of something great! Fantastic job ++ very well developed theme. Love the idea of the thing you are trying to save is also the thing killing you
++ the art style is great. Very unified across the game and seems to be well thought out
++ The fact this is PICO-8 is amazing all on its own
-- A little bit of instruction could be helpful here. Just a flash screen saying how to play would be great
-- I feel like it needs balancing. My tries all ended up lasting less than a minute, and I wasn't sure what I was doing wrong.
