Love the game.
Played this a lot. Such eerie atmosphere. The track goes great with the idea.
Playing on a joystick, the controls are good - I just missed rudder controls. In the beginning I kept automatically pressing R1/L1 while in first person to try and turn more smoothly.
The upgrade system allows for multiple strategies.
A nitpick - I think the terrain texture doesn't match the game mood.
Very good take on the theme!
Saw pictures, five stars on humor. Had me laughing before downloading. It's fucking hilarious_, lol!_
Top notch, man,
Guy
I can relate with Robbert, really like the look of eggplants
Hahahah! It reminds me of throwing Cuccos on various Zelda games, the npcs actually behave kinda like chickens - I guess it would be a twist to have the player be a chicken :thinking:.
Only issue is suicidal npcs dealing damage to the player when they kill themselves.
Fun! I think hotkeys for the upgrades would improve the experience. Also there was no situation where I couldn't collect the blood before it vanishing.
The art on the enemies is bizarre. I liked it. It took some trial and error on the beginning to figure out the controls, but it's a nice game. Lost to the final boss short of one hit on it, so I think it's fairly well balanced. I may have used too much health on the beginning.
Love the game! Art is amazing. Crashed twice here, though, not sure why.
@norfma I'm on Win10 x64
I guess this is how it feels when you open a pack of cigarettes in prison! Love the graphics and had fun even though it's very hard to keep it together when enemies start comming in heaps. I think either the coins scatter too far when enemies die or the money bag is too slow!
🐥 is the real enemy! Monsters are just trying to warn us!
Somehow it reminds me of NGE.
@dilauraba @errantlime @jedineeson Thanks for playing :)
@dilauraba @errantlime Yeah! I wish I had the time to implement actual mechanics. The only mechanic currently in place is a random event where you have the choice to turn your scrap into turns for the current robot, at a loss.
I love the atmosphere, the music is emotional. With some sprites and a large world it seems like there's a lot to explore. The small background story you put here in the page and in the game also helps that a lot. The fact that the final boss is a larger version of yourself is meaningful.
In terms of gameplay, the best thing to do at all times is avoid the slimes. The slash animation is much slower than the enemies. This isn't necessarily bad. I really like the fact that slimes are able to casually cross to other rooms. It's strange that the boss' spells cross between rooms but yours sometimes don't.
Maybe there's too much healing available after Area 3.
Good experience overall!
Really like the fact that you implemented an online scoreboard.
I would expect to be able to move and aim independently, but the limitation adds some nice difficulty.
Some thoughts:
After about wave 6 enemies get as fast as their bullets. It becomes a race;
Regen should be the first upgrade you buy everytime, then penetration;
If you don't invest in bullet speed, later on you can start using your bullets as bombs. Seems like a bug but it's a neat feature.
Fun game overall!
Some extra thoughts:
Since there's no time and space restrictions, you can abuse the store and buy regen multiple times on the first wave. Then you use the infinite health purchase all upgrades multiple times.
Also, since the level seems to be very large or infinite, a something indicating the enemies' locations would be very helpful.
@nico-the-pro I had a lot of fun playing it! Even after breaking the balance, it's still pretty hard on later waves. I see breaking it as something good, I just don't think you should be able to do it consistently.
I love the sound effects and the jazzy-weird feel on the music. Graphics are pretty and gameplay is nice. Only issue is sometimes a cook can spawn very close to the pig and actually start "riding" and brutalizing it without possibility for the player to fight back!
Nice art! ~~Penny is hot, are we really blood-related?~~
Something about the power-ups - they stack on top of each other and it seems like the wheelchair always takes precedence on pick-up. But I find the wheelchair to be the most useful.
It also seems that canes take precedence over dentures. And you can't pick dentures after picking canes, which nulifies something that would be a good strat when there's a huge mob - combining canes with dentures. Since mobs that get caught on dentures seem to stay stuck forever, it would be helpful to get a cane and then a denture to lock a good chunk of them in place and not have to worry about them anymore.
Had fun!
It's very hard to avoid the coins, even more so when it starts speeding up, gave me some motion sickness. Wasn't able to check if something else happens when you collect 100 of another thing besides coins. Good quality!
Unfortunately I'm not able to play, but it seems to be fun! + On innovation
