Wow. You REALLY like wolves.

dilauraba 2019-04-30 05:15

Holy cow, I really appreciated the art in this game. The models were really good and everything felt really cohesive with one another. The music was the perfect mix of interesting, but not too intrusive, and was really nice. The style of this game was seriously amazing.

The core mechanic was pretty solid, however, I wish that there was a little bit more room to roam. I frequently found myself running into trees in the tight corridors. One thing that I think would go a really long way is some sort of "great success" sound/visual when you complete a potion.

On the whole, a really fantastic entry. Great job!

abraxas-interactive 2019-04-30 22:30

Uh I got to play as a wolf that made potions so that was pretty cool. Hah, great job! I think that with some animations and some polish you could have something here. Thanks for sharing!

Great art and sound and mechanic but I think that limiting any game to "see how many you can get in 1 minute" is bad in any game because it makes players do maybe 1 or 2 rounds and quit and there isn't much room for improvement. Instead you can do "see how many you can do before you die" so there might be a time limit for each potion and that way it encourages people to keep going and try to get a high score

I like this wolf.

ghostgoatsgames 2019-05-01 04:56

I like the wolf model a lot. I had to close and re-open the game to get new potions to register each time. I like your thoughts on the theme, it's too bad you didn't get a chance to implement them. Would have been neat.

lanik2000 2019-05-01 05:41

Hot damn those visuals are nice! Too bad the gameplay is a lil too simple. Maybe some sort of a potion brewing mechanic could have gone a long way. And as you stated your self, the potions transforming other critters, tho that would probably take a while to implement.

Also found my self getting stuck on rocks quite a bit.

corbak 2019-05-01 05:42

Awesome character model!!! I wish you could dump the potion when you make a mistake. I also have a weird looking grey band in the middle of the screen (probably on the ui) I dont know if that is on purpose.

bitzawolf 2019-05-01 17:45

@everyone so far, thank you so much for the kind feedback on the art! Glad folks are enjoying it!

@corbak - Thank you for the kind words! Yes, that is a UI bug, sorry about that.

@lanik2000 - Oh gosh, thank you! I agree, would love to expand on this idea further. Thanks for playing!

That skating wolf! it is hard to understand first, but with couple of tries, I got it!

Good job making a 3D environment all in a short time! It took me a little bit to understand how to play, but I got it going. Nice job.

oivin-f 2019-05-02 16:53

Fun graphics and compelling premise, however the movement was a bit slippery and the implementation could have been tighter. (More feedback when gathering ingredients). I'd also like a little more time per round and instead slow the player down a bit, that's my two cents at least. Good job

paullyaudet 2019-05-02 19:50

Was fun to play :)

purrseus 2019-05-02 21:16

Wow, the presentation is amazing! Just add some audio-feedback for delivering a potion and I couldn't be happier! I love your graphics, they are breathtaking! Especially the character design  The game plays really fluidly which is very nice. Very well done!

camocc-studios 2019-05-03 00:05

Very good game, I love the way you put him on skates to not have to make animations, very clever. The graphics and audio are fantastic and overall it feels very polished. The only thing I would criticize is the collisions, its quite frustrating to go so fast and collide with every little object.

ransom 2019-05-03 05:22

I was left confused for a while as to how to play this. I think the user interface doesn't work on my screen; I'm using a 1400 x 900 resolution (yeah, it's an old monitor). I couldn't see what the orders were or what I had in my bag.

The character design is cute though!

teo989 2019-05-03 19:03

Oh man I love that art! It's so simple but works wonders. The game idea also works well. I had a bit of a problem with my wolf being stuck in walls which went against the smoothness of the rest of the game. But after playing for a while I just tried to avoid them. I quite enjoyed playing this game. Good job

bitzawolf 2019-05-04 14:29

Sorry about that @ransom , some folks are having trouble with certain resolutions. I though I had tried testing different screen sizes, but I must have missed some. Glad you liked it anyway!

It's got to be said, this is one good looking game. You managed to make quite a lot of 3D assets and do a good amount of scene dressing in this game. Wow.

If you're familiar with the game 'Overcooked', this game gives me a bit of a vibe for that game in terms of potential. Running around collecting ingredients and then serving them up to order makes for a fun game mechanic. I think the potion making process could have used a few additional steps to increase the complexity of the game. The hard time limit of 1 minute is a bit restrictive too in terms of going for a hi-score, as Evan M pointed out. It felt like it was over before I got started.

That said, I think this game has a lot of potential. Potions that can be used to streamline the potion making process would be interesting. Maybe in addition to potions to be completed and sold, some potions are consumed for bonuses! How about a potion that you can splash to make a portal between two locations for a duration? Speed boost brews? Slow down time (increase game length) with a brew? I could see this game easily being expanded upon!

The wizard hat wearing roller-skate wolf was enough of a hook for me. 10/10 character design. I wonder, I suppose there wasn't much time to animate the wolf, is that why he's on skates? If so, that's a happy accident for the time constraints, haha. I think the skates are rather endearing.

Seems like a solid foundation for a "made to order" style game. Good job!

10 980! Great game, enthralling music, and beautiful graphics (: Entertaining and chill

bitzawolf 2019-05-08 03:29

@vinay-rao Oh gosh, thank you so much for the kind feedback! Yes, I really enjoy making 3D art and wanted to focus on that. I really like your ideas to expand the mechanics further, hadn't thought about drinking the potions but it would offer some interesting risk-reward options that would jive well with the other mechanic! Cool!

OH NO, you've cracked the reason why the wolf is on skates :eyes: :sweat_drops:

rocketraccoons 2019-05-08 08:17

Great work!
