LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Micro Trooper by Split82 2017-12-04T21:01:02Z

This is great! One of my favorite submissions by far! Feels a lot like Downwell. Yes, the variation is small, but its like the original Super Mario, its got a ton of charm in what little content there is.

The game also feels very polished, smart choice going for the simple graphics, as the consistent artstyle ties it all together. Not to mention the PUMPING soundtrack. Great job!

Money Is Everything by Jani Nykanen 2017-12-04T20:46:02Z

Fun and hard endless runner! I agree that the "muncher" type enemy should telegraph its jump, also, sometimes you get to a situation where you absolutely cannot avoid taking a hit which sucks...

Overall great game though, well done!

Runaway Corruption by Move127 2017-12-04T16:11:28Z

Fun game! I found it a bit easy to exploit because you can shoot in multiple directions at once. Just mash all arrow keys constantly! Also I didn't really understand what the bomb was. Otherwise fun game with good atmosphere. Good job!

you are the coin master by Sean S. LeBlanc 2017-12-04T18:33:53Z

This game is great, the feat to make this in such a short time! One big detriment for me is that the jump feels JUST too underpowered. So many times I missed a jump with just a pixel to spare, and when on top of that the "glitches" make it impossible to see the spikes it became almost unplayable. But nevertheless, it was fun and looks great. Congrats!

Going Nuts by nidup 2017-12-05T00:00:17Z

Cool concept and great art style - sadly it crashed for me a couple times (web player) Also, I didn't quite understand what the animal noises meant? Very unique look and fee - good job!

Holiday Parking Panic! by FormalCloud 2017-12-09T00:54:49Z

Fun game that evokes memories of playing tons of flash games about 10 or so years ago. Didn't run very well in my browser though with lots of slowdown... Felt polished and satisfying!

Curse of Greed by Sophie Houlden 2017-12-04T17:27:57Z

Wow this goes right up there to top 3 for me this LD! The mechanic was incredibly smart and fun to interact with. However, when you die, you keep your money, but it also respawns, so it is possible to respawn with no way to avoid enough coins to survive (and it gets progressively worse).

Movement was a bit slippery but other than that, extremely well done! Best of luck

Embol by azlen 2017-12-09T00:51:07Z

A fun and novel experience. Unlike anything I've played before

About The CyberFighter by ginger9 2017-12-08T22:59:42Z

Cool game with a fun twist!

I found myself just holding space for the majority of the time though, maybe tweak it so he shoots even slower when at 0 ammo. Good job!

Of Fates and Feels by bwalter 2017-12-13T19:31:36Z

I'm afraid I don't really understand this at all. Even the weakest little droplets completely decimate my party? Hmmm....

Elf Fortress by jormybb 2017-12-10T23:52:09Z

Wow great fun, as mentioned there's not too much depth considering the limited items to build, but I still had a lot of fun. Great work!

The lost strawberry by egordorichev 2017-12-04T19:27:50Z

I too jumped in the pit a million times before realizing I could climb. That being said, I really liked this game! As some mentioned, the art hurts my eyes a little, but I choose to believe that was entirely intentional. (Granted, I didn't realize you could pallette swap)

Other than that, the only thing is that you don't really feel compelled to gather the strawberries, as there is no clear reward for doing so.

My criticism is only because this game is otherwise incredible for being made in 48 hours. Congrats!

Fox Flares by aeveis 2017-12-12T22:24:12Z

Love the graphics and fluid gameplay! Sadly, I had some performance issues, especially right after respawning I would have severely low frame rates... Good job!

Slightly annoying traffic by JOrbits 2017-12-08T23:07:24Z

Clever concept that fits the theme, is intuitive and still has depth. If anything, it lacks in variety, but for a 48 hour jam its still above and beyond. Great job!

Reaper Boy LD40 Edition by jessefreeman 2017-12-12T22:20:01Z

Nice, juicy and polished gameplay! Graphics are cute in their simplicity. Sadly, the audio wasn't really for me per se, a little too aggressive samples perhaps, the sound hurt my ears a bit sometimes...

All in all great work creating such a polished game in such a short time!

SUPER COP HERO by Finlal 2017-12-13T19:49:28Z

Wow this game was good. Agree that some enemies might appear too quickly to reasonably react to, but with the included easy mode, I cleared it first try no problem.

I love the Gears of War style timed reload minigame, but I'd put it perhaps over the crosshairs instead because that's where I'd have my eyes most of the time in order to see incoming bullets I need to dodge.

Also, I don't feel any incentive really to save the civilians, they annoy me more than anything by getting in the way... In a way it almost felt good to see them being mowed down, and I'm not completely sure that's a good thing.

I'm 99% sure this is my favorite entry this LD. Amazing job!

Kalyuka by soyrandom 2017-12-04T17:19:38Z

Not bad! I didn't see a point in not just holding spacebar all the time though. Nice, fitting music! Good job!

Cave of Duty by Zielon 2017-12-09T00:44:29Z

Amazing visuals and fun gameplay! Mood and music felt tied together and made for a novel and good play experience. If anything though, I had some difficulty understanding my objective at first, a tutorial or something similar might be good.

CrudeCarnageCars40 by elZach 2017-12-04T21:30:08Z

Was more fun that I thought to see hundreds of cars flailing about the track. Loved the acapella engine sounds! Gameplay-wise it's a bit lacking, as in there is no win or lose condition, but fun nonetheless (and fits the theme too!)

Cardhoard by HacksawUnit 2017-12-04T02:52:48Z

Great fun! I'm not very good at it though...

Ludum Dart by kbjwes77 2017-12-08T22:32:42Z

Easy to pick up and fun to play Fun arcade gameplay, I enjoyed it even though the spinning bright colored dart board was a little dazing.

Great execution, and fits very well with the theme!

Hyper diapers by Gaziter 2017-12-05T13:22:02Z

Very fun and visually pleasing. I had 26 babies by the end of it... Well done!

Sunken by Tay 2017-12-04T20:49:51Z

Fun little rougelike! As I'm sure people have said before me, it would be nice if enemies moved. Also, some rooms have inaccessible parts.

Other than that, fantastic game

Get Out - LD40 by lcrabbit 2017-12-08T22:26:31Z

Pretty good game, pleasant graphics and music, but I think you should replace pits with walls next time ;)

Robo Tomb by Xacur 2017-12-04T16:01:09Z

Fun! I found that the cross bombs weren't too useful though, maybe give them even more range. Enjoyed the music, the gameplay fit with the theme definitely, and the graphics weren't too bad either. Good job!

Slimefestation by Keppu 2017-12-13T19:56:31Z

Fun game! The hitbox on the player was a little annoying sometimes, as I'd try to interact with slimes only for it not to work... Also First time playing I didn't pay attention to my score and I didn't understand that you were supposed to capture slimes and sell them off to the dude on the left. (But once I did I got points, of course) Good job

Catamari by Kieran Newland 2017-12-13T19:39:40Z

I had fun with this game and loved the art, but the sausages sometimes clipped through the floor. Also, I'd lose the timer - it doesn't make it more fun. Best looking, juiciest entry I've seen so far. Great job!

Magus O-Minus by Nucleose 2017-12-04T15:34:50Z

Fun little game, if a bit on the hard side perhaps. Getting ganged by enemies was difficult to get out of.

Overall I think the game answered the theme in a fun and engaging way! But I'd give the player a more sense of purpose, because I didn't really know where to go at any point (or why for that matter)

Atmosphere was wonderful, and graphics enjoyable. Great job!

Mo' Gold, Mo' Dragons by tvance 2017-12-13T19:22:18Z

Intuitive and novel gameplay! Wish the hitboxes on the dragons were a bit bigger, and the music was a bit jarring.... All in all a solid entry, good job!

Waltz by Steffan 2017-12-09T00:59:10Z

Short answer: no! I couldn't! Interesting, novel concept though

Bucketneers by And Garciaz 2017-12-12T22:12:52Z

Enjoyable, popping art and fluid intuitive gameplay. I'm not sure about the depth here (no pun intended), but it seems just using the cannon constantly is the only viable strat?

Good job!

Corrupture by Chyme 2017-12-04T03:28:53Z

Fun game, but unfortunately I had some issues with slowdown when there were many objects on the screen.

The concept was intuitive, and easy to grasp. I loved how the more powerful attacks were "juiced" up.

I think the game was overall a little on the easy side though. Good job!

To The Depths by Pedro Medeiros 2017-12-04T18:07:20Z

Wonderful game with great graphics, sound and execution. The only critique I have is that in later levels, some tight corridors get completely blocked off by projectiles, and I also killed an enemy who's corpse ended up inside a wall and I couldn't replenish my health at it.

Definitely one of the best games I've played so far in LD40! Great work!

BURROWED TIME by endesga 2017-12-04T19:13:16Z

Amazing!

This is the game so far that felt the most like a finished product. Feels and looks very professional. My only critique would be that I don't really understand the upgrade system fully, and that it is entirely random if you manage to find the exit in time or not...

Fun trade-off in the main mechanic too. Very well done overall!

Let's mix some drinks! by Sintel 2017-12-04T21:23:04Z

Fun! I had 8 drinks..! Is that Misty i hear in the background? Good job

Mo Money Mo Problems by Oivin F 2017-12-04T19:00:50Z

Let's be fair - we both stole it from B.I.G! Now, I built for Linux and OSX, but I have no way to test them. Gonna check out your game!

Mo Money Mo Problems by Oivin F 2017-12-08T23:13:50Z

@ruthiepee There is a button for exiting the score board, but it is entirely possible that the UI doesn't scale well for all resolutions - I also haven't tested the game on Mac/Linux, so that might be it too...

@Jimbly hit detection is a bit... let's say... janky. I'm aware of it and it annoys me as well. It can probably be fixed but I'm not entirely sure what the actual problem is as its using Unity's collision(trigger) system because I thought it would save time. I porobably should have just coded it in with regards to distance between dropped object and bag to be fair. Lession learned!

Mo Money Mo Problems by Oivin F 2017-12-10T15:21:03Z

@sean-s-leblanc I dunno, if you believe rich people then being rich can be a stress factor! But I more envisioned you playing as an accoutnant or something, like its not your money per se. Like light inspiration from Papers, Please. And yeah, there are graphical glitches, and the graphics aren't nearly as juiced up as I wanted them to be...

Thanks for the feedback!

Mo Money Mo Problems by Oivin F 2017-12-14T00:50:52Z

@tvance Honestly? Because I've never used it before and Unity doesn't seem like the engine to easily run in a browser... But after having played a ton of LD40 games I know it sort of is haha

Hydronaut by terakorp 2017-12-08T23:04:00Z

Beautiful graphics what little there is, and I really enjoyed the music and mood too. Good job!

CakeTech by pinmei 2017-12-04T16:24:52Z

Wow that was a very fun game! Would love to see it more fleshed out!

A issue for me was that it gets too hard too suddenly with the level where you have to hold shift sometimes.

Other than that, its definitely top three of the games I've tried so far! Great work!

LD44 — Your life is currency

Drowning in the Rain by OddballDave 2019-05-02T01:05:03Z

The most polished one I've played this LD. Powerful stuff. If anything to critique, I feel that for one, the puzzles weren't very intuitive, the character movement was a bit slow, and the mouse was redonkolously sensitive (had to manually turn my DPI as far down as it goes and still had light speed mouse movement). Great, great work!

A Burning Rabbit Experiment by Jani Nykanen 2019-05-02T16:04:32Z

Very tight and cohesive gameplay. Interesting idea as well. My one critique is that the background is too saturated making it much harder to distinguish what's foreground and background in tight situations. Great entry!

Wendy the Witch in "Mind Your Damned Business!" by DEGLIS 2019-04-30T11:45:00Z

The mouse movement is pretty weird in this one. I like the idea, but its way too difficult (or I'm too stupid to figure it out). I keep spiralling the blood around and around enemies but it only does damage sometimes and I die in seconds every time. Interesting take on the theme, but I think it needs a little more work.

Blood Pressure by superpokeunicorn 2019-05-01T13:03:14Z

I love the Downwell style and how minimal but functional this is! The blood regaining reminds me a lot of the "focus" effect in Hollow Knight and makes you think about when you can squeeze in a pause in order to get some health back - tactical! I do find it becoming too difficult too quickly, however, because of the knock back those blue dudes can easily chain hits and rack up some sick damage. Perhaps some i-frames would have solved that

Bloody Runner by DidiGameBoy 2019-05-02T16:01:31Z

Cool graphics, gameplay was a bit repetitive as expected from an arcade style game. If I had any specific critique it would be that sometimes it is just not possible to avoid taking a hit, and sometimes you start by taking one or even multiple hits before you have a chance to react. Cool project overall

safecrack by torcado 2019-05-02T16:23:13Z

In pure fun, I think this is probably the best I've played this LD. Super intuitve and satisfying, but I miss having more things to upgrade.

Tunnel Bug by gamepopper 2019-05-01T14:58:22Z

Pretty fun, well polished game! I find the difficulty curve a bit steep, but the game resets quickly and is pretty fun in the short run. Good job!

Peak Myths by fashionbatman 2019-05-02T17:58:59Z

Funny experimental game, or more like an art piece critical of modern gaming. Definitely a different way of solving the theme!

This is your life now by reuno 2019-05-11T12:05:13Z

Very fun and polished experience. I didn't like how it judges your life at the end though, I was ok with my choices and their consequences, but it just said "eh, you can do better". Overall amazing job though, the level of polish is unreal

A Moment To Reflect by aeveis 2019-04-29T22:25:55Z

An experience more than a game. But a wholesome and visually pretty experience

BulletHearts by beta 2019-05-02T01:22:24Z

The aesthetic was excellent, however I feel the gameplay needs a little refining. You are sometimes completely ganked at the very start of a round, for instance. I also feel the player moves way too slow - if he moved a bit faster you would have tactical dodging as a possibility, but as it is now you are almost always hit by the projectiles no matter what. All that being said, the core mechanic IS engaging and very intuitive. I think this could make a great game with some additional polish!

Robin by mahalis 2019-04-30T17:24:13Z

Can't launch it, unfortunately. I do believe something as game-breaking as that is allowed to be fixed after the fact.

Timezone by joemanaco 2019-05-11T12:57:25Z

It plays almost more as a puzzle than an action game, which is very interesting! Great polish and amazing soundtrack. (I didn't get far however.)

Bet Your Life by mrnyarlathotep 2019-05-02T17:04:08Z

Got up to 900 years. Pretty fun idea if a little repetitive after a while. The devil should start cheating when you get the better of him!

SimuCorp by Nick Rafalski 2019-05-02T17:52:29Z

Interesting take on the theme

Soul Surge by Brackeys 2019-05-11T11:57:18Z

Cool idea and cute execution, however I find the gameplay somewhat unenjoyable unfortunately.

Choice of Life by victorcrafty 2019-04-30T15:19:28Z

I didn't get very far in, but I loved the concept. Well done!

Potion Wolf by Bitzawolf 2019-05-02T16:53:32Z

Fun graphics and compelling premise, however the movement was a bit slippery and the implementation could have been tighter. (More feedback when gathering ingredients). I'd also like a little more time per round and instead slow the player down a bit, that's my two cents at least. Good job

Idle Idol by Daniel Moreno 2019-04-29T22:16:02Z

Feels polished, juiced up and professional. I do think it scaled a bit slowly, but it did keep me entertained for a while. Great job!

Battery is here to stay by Aterlamia 2019-05-02T18:07:27Z

I agree that the cursor and hit boxes were too unresponsive, some bugs meant I had several of the same items in the inventory, and ultimately the buttons on the top left stopped working most of the time. I applaud the ambition, however!

Microtransaction Mages by Jeremy Ryan 2019-05-02T16:36:37Z

Cool concept and some great art in there! Would have liked a bit more variety and perhaps turning "working" into a more entertaining mini-game. As it stands, the working part is (intentionally) pretty unnecessary, more like some humorous stab at society, but not viable for the long run.

The Fountain of Youth by cenullum 2019-04-30T21:57:22Z

Pretty fun story driven game. The questionable English didn't really deduct much from the experience. I lived for a billion billion years and got to learn the secrets of the universe

Ollo's Life by Memel06 2019-04-30T20:48:14Z

Extra points for ACTUALLY making a Gameboy game FOR the gameboy!

Thank you for giving us the option to -not- save that stupid a**hole child by the way, it's like he tried to die in the most ways possible in the shortest possible time frame. Go live your life Ollo, who is to say that d-bag wont chow down on some bleach the second he gets the chance when you're gone!

invertebrae by jjjjason 2019-05-11T12:54:22Z

Impressive. "Big Woof" saved your "Humor"-grade greatly. Probably the most polished I've played this LD. Owing in part to its simple mechanics and style, but still. Gives off a professional vibe and contains some solid writing.

War Crimes by Oivin F 2019-04-30T08:12:04Z

@yuri-langowski Thank you! Yes well I didn't really optimize performance... When played in the browser I can imagine some lag when you and several enemies are shooting a hail of bullets simultaneously.

War Crimes by Oivin F 2019-04-30T23:34:20Z

@spartacouscous Thank you for checking it out! Yes, the music was doubtlessly going to be annoying after a while, which is why I implemented the pause menu just for the player to be able to mute it heh.

War Crimes by Oivin F 2019-05-01T17:32:25Z

@aeveis Thank you for the feedback! The (rather naïve) thought was that the enemies would gradually spawn as the player was busy collecting oil from the oil wells, and then after being forced further and further out the spawn rate increases.

War Crimes by Oivin F 2019-05-02T17:53:47Z

@frog5tar Do you mean some more hit feedback? Your life is your currency (on the left)

War Crimes by Oivin F 2019-05-02T23:05:28Z

@fashionbatman @bitzawolf I realized that stupid me in my crunching managed to remove the function that scales the player speed by the frame timing. :face_palm: In other words, everyone who's played this will get different player speed based on their specific frame rate... That might explain why you thought the tank was slow.

War Crimes by Oivin F 2019-05-11T21:04:59Z

@neowedge "programmer graphics" ;)

@ourten Yes, the tank aims towards the cursor which is raycast on the ground. The black area has no ground = no cursor = no aiming. This was fixed in the post LD version by restricting how far out you can go.

@wiredoverload Good to know. It is in essence a bit heavy to run in the browser, I'm sure a windows standalone would work a lot better, but I don't imagine most people bothering to download it just for better performance.

@attala In the post-LD version I added a boss tank that is really difficult to kill and it gives you a "win" screen if you manage it :)

War Crimes by Oivin F 2019-05-18T10:23:32Z

@sharks Thank you, that means a lot!

Fateful Dealings by vfqd 2019-04-30T12:09:57Z

Interesting entry, the one that have kept me entertained the longest so far! Quite innovative - great job!

Rashness by Saering 2019-05-01T22:10:36Z

I could tell before opening the game that this was going to be polished and boy was I right! I love the idea of a single difficult boss fight for a jam game, it means that there is a logical end to the game while keeping the scope small. Overall very fun and challenging!

Bloodletter by shp 2019-05-01T13:36:26Z

This is by far my favorite entry I've payed this LD. Super fluid movement, engaging mechanics, massively impressive graphics considering the time frame, fitting music, great polish, overall deserves a lot of praise! Improvements for me would be to fix collision/movement a bit on bumpy ground (rocks), give you the possibility to tactically reload after 1 shot, have a greater enemy variety, and a FOV slider

DISREGARD LIFE, ACQUIRE CURRENCY by notb 2019-04-30T20:25:45Z

Graphics and presentation was absolutely mind blowing, the reflections in the water, the star map, I mean - the works. Gameplay-wise I think it has a way to go though, and yes the font was a bit hard to make split-second decisions with. Great entry!

Battery Life by Attala 2019-05-11T12:18:30Z

Fun interesting concept. I like the models/shaders a lot even if the rooms are a bit empty overall. It gives a certain "portal" feeling to it all. A few annoyances: The enemies can deplete your energy enough that you can't win but also can't lose. The camera is locked to the player so you can't always see where the enemies are. Collision is a bit finicky at times. I'm only saying this because overall I think the core game is really good!

A Heart of Gold by Fat cat 2019-05-01T22:04:13Z

Bonus points for that really cool goat man char portrait!

Life is Strange by HowlingShame 2019-05-01T00:24:32Z

That was a very different experience that could potentially be something really cool! The resources reminded me a bit about Reigns

Hollow Priest by pandan 2019-05-02T16:43:40Z

Two words: rocket jumping! I was always a sucker for FPS movement puzzles (rocket jumping, HL-puzzles, surf, b-hops). The game froze when the boss hit me, however...

Sigillis by JUSTCAMH 2019-05-11T11:53:12Z

The only entry so far this LD where I'm actually inclined to look at the source code. Amazing job getting this to work at that level in a LD!

DEA-7H by b3agz 2019-04-30T21:36:34Z

Very cool game, though I find it a bit hard. Agree with some other people with having an option to speed up dialogue.

Fair n Square by DaniDev 2019-04-30T21:26:24Z

Rockin soundtrack!

Life Path by kristinnes 2019-04-30T21:44:22Z

Pretty fun little experience! Had a giggle now and then, makes you think about real life too.

Delta Fighter by LiauJ 2019-05-01T21:34:04Z

Fun, functional and interesting. I feel like the ring hitbox was a bit unforgiving, and there wasn't too much content or variety, but for what it is it is very satisfying

Undercave by NoobException 2019-05-02T01:14:47Z

Interesting concept! The AI was as mentioned by many others a bit wonky, and the controls (crouch jumping especially) were a bit fiddly. I also found the game to hard and couldn't complete it, but that's more a fault on my part. Good job!

Kill The Money by Copper_Aardvark_Games 2019-05-11T12:10:00Z

Pretty fun and feels finished. I think the enemies take way too many hits to kill, however, and I don't see why you have to use the mouse to shoot when its not used to aim. Overall good job though!

Collecting Really Nice Cats! by cheesepencil 2019-05-18T17:57:50Z

Fun entry, the victory sound effect was a treat.

Sour Business! by GabrielH 2019-04-30T11:38:41Z

Fun and whimsical little game, however the lemonade stops spraying after a minute or so, unfortunately.

Angry Planet by grllle 2019-05-01T21:56:09Z

Very fun, inventive game, and I love the hand-drawn aesthetic! I feel the clouds moved a little slowly though, but for the short experience that it is its a pretty fulfilling one

LifeShot by kuviman 2019-04-30T17:28:33Z

Was very difficult, tried three or four times and didn't get a single kill. That being said, the game feels very polished and satisfying. Is the music procedurally generated? It sounds really interesting. Actually had the idea of making a Agar-type game myself for this LD

Life for Likes by FM Studio 2019-04-30T22:30:39Z

Entertaining game with an interesting concept. I feel the variety could have been a little bigger, or maybe give more special unique things to hunt that perfect selfie with. Was killed by a levitating dog. Great job finishing! Feels pretty well-rounded and polished

Boxes Rush by Mia Devs 2019-05-02T00:48:01Z

I can appreciate the effort that went into this. Some of the features like the mini-map are pretty cool, but I feel the game is lacking in the basics. The gameplay is not terribly engaging, and the controls definitely do not feel 100% right. Overall good effort!

Seeds Of Life by PixScope 2019-05-11T12:24:04Z

Simple, pretty fun game. I didn't understand that I needed to press the buy seeds button at first and I kept killing myself by pressing the upgrade weapon. That being said, after I pressed the correct button it was pretty straight forward.

Escape from Hell by Becher 2019-05-01T13:24:51Z

The art is beautiful as stated by many others, and the gameplay tedious as also stated by many others. Slow movement, you get sent back all the time, grinding for souls, floaty controls etc. makes the gameplay a bit on the not so enjoyable side unfortunately. The mood is amazing however and the concept is definitely sound. Great work!

Spring Piggy Break by Yuri Langowski 2019-04-29T22:31:03Z

The graphic style on the pig reminds me a lot of Cyriak. Inventive game!

What is there to say about this...thing? The presentation is very fluid and professional, and very interesting and creative. I'm not a 100% sure whether it captures the theme, but at the end of the day that's not what's important. As some other commenters mentioned I feel some Salad Fingers in this entry, all that childhood trauma welling up again

Boil Them by Sbug 2019-05-02T17:47:30Z

One of my favorites this LD, though I wish it had a final goal. The art style, mood and presentation are all on point!

Victor Spumante And The Raindrops of Burgundy by gimblll 2019-05-01T00:33:14Z

Really fun weird game! Reminded me a bit about Froggy Fractions in a good way

5 Minute Dungeon by LubFotPig 2019-04-30T16:28:59Z

Felt fun and satisfying gameplay-wise. I really liked the enemy AI, it felt pretty professional and not too janky. I do agree about the sounds that they were a bit on the painful side (have done this mistake myself before), and the content not too fleshed out. Overall good work and congrats on finishing!

Tsundere Defender by Kirill Nepomnyaschiy 2018-04-24T14:15:10Z

Great game! The only piece of criticism I have is that you could make the romance bar fill a little faster, considering the gameplay doesn't change and there's only one enemy. Loved the graphics and I think the enemy movement is very well made. Well done

Wordelicious by ludipe 2018-04-25T00:07:57Z

Controls are simple, gameplay is easy to grasp yet challenging. While it doesn't have huge amounts of depth, I'm still kindof jealous someone came up with this brilliant, simple and elegant idea. Very well done!

Cropper by thomz12 2018-04-24T11:57:14Z

Good job! I'm still playing this! Amazing how much game time you can create in so little development time... The cute graphics fit right in as well. Of course - depth isn't incredible, as you do the same thing over and over, but to me this has some real potential!

PE@CE by bwalter 2018-04-25T20:35:57Z

Feels fleshed out and juiced up for what it is. Well done making so much out of so little. My biggest gripe with it is that you don't respawn instantly like in ie. super meat boy. That makes the difficulty more tolerable

CCG Shoot 'em Up by Moczan 2018-04-24T23:41:57Z

Works surprisingly well, the decisions aren't big enough to slow the game down to a creep, but keeps some action elements. Well balanced!

Rythm is Lava by egordorichev 2018-04-24T22:23:00Z

Tight and works well, does what its supposed to. Was a bit enraged by the damaging blocks after a while!

Crafty by Brackeys 2018-04-29T20:54:22Z

Simple and fun! Would have liked a guide for the 100%. Got to 39.

A Puzzling Combination by Noa Calice 2018-04-25T20:41:14Z

Simple and cute! Not sure the puzzle part really got through to me but the story elements made up for it

Turn-Based Invaders from Space! by HacksawUnit 2018-04-24T23:34:39Z

Looks, feels and sounds great! The gameplay wasn't quite up my alley, but I can absolutely appreciate the amount of polish this has. Good job!

Speed Dating by kbjwes77 2018-04-23T02:57:30Z

That was incredibly charming, good job! About half of the questions seem like there's nothing to do but guess, but that's about my only criticism.

YOU LEFT ME. by Angela He 2018-04-28T17:13:38Z

That made me feel very uncomfortable. Well done. I certainly didn't expect to see something like this in the compo. It feels like something complete, and not at all the thrown-together tech-demo vibe most LD entries have. I cannot praise this enough, and I will gladly excuse the bugs that give a black screen from time to time. Maybe not accept ratings in humor? It was hard to rate this in general, because no, I did certainly not have fun, but that wasn't the goal of the experience either...

A Virtual Friend by frostdragonliz 2018-04-24T23:54:33Z

I agree with some of the other commentors in that there is no actual "game" here, as your inputs actually don't affect the outcome. Also there is no win(fail?) state as far as I found. All that aside, this was amazingly detailed and unexpected. It felt like a tamagotchi and boy was the artwork both fateful and eerie. I was half hoping the little thing would explode into eldritch horror and lovecraftian goop that would spill into the "real" world (the world in which the tamagotchi exists , that is).

Full game when?

Text Royale: The Ultimate Type or Death Fight by Rob White 2018-04-24T13:26:24Z

Cool concept, and while I did get most of it I don't think I quite understood how to attack. I kept typing in RANGE2 RANGE2 RANGE2 and didn't really seem to do anything despite having a loaded shotgun on me and an enemy nearby... Great work though, works surprisingly well for what it is

Text Royale: The Ultimate Type or Death Fight by Rob White 2018-04-24T20:04:33Z

With that info I replayed and managed to win with a sniper rifle. I also accidentally dropped my AR but it didn't turn out to make a big difference. GG!

Heartache by Oivin F 2018-04-23T13:34:43Z

@Junamai Oopsies, I only had about half the weekend free so play testing was down-prioritized, heh

Heartache by Oivin F 2018-05-01T16:15:38Z

@jin9310 Wave 115?? It was never tested this high! But yeah, since all the coins have physics it lags after a while... Performance wasn't really a priority given the short development time. Sadly it scales badly after wave 20-ish and losing becomes hard. I can also see some floating towers, not sure what causes that bug. Might release a balanced/fixed/juiced version when I get time. Cheers!

ASM Hell by vilix64 2018-04-24T19:49:42Z

Most engaging LD game i've played, sucked me right in. Managed 128 cycles on the last one by checking only against multiples of prime numbers under 10 (2, 3, 5, 7, 9)

Pretty Crowded Dungeon by sprvrn 2018-04-25T21:00:45Z

Best score 1400! You managed to make the two genres work well together, getting from A to B is a strategic balance between the shortest route and the one with the most matches

BIRKANOID by MateCziner 2018-04-24T23:59:49Z

Very fun and challenging - perhaps even too much so. Graphics are amazing and very consistently good. Palette swap was a fun addition

The Cards You're Dealt by Raindrinker 2018-04-24T13:15:14Z

The concept was very cool and the gameplay feels intentional and fluid, all the while granting a large deal of agency to the player. I do agree that it is a bit difficult though, got to level 4 and was "painted into a corner" so to speak. Great job!

Flappy Blocks by Radical Dog 2018-04-23T11:50:37Z

Played that far longer than I had anticipated! It seems to snap a bit when the tetrominio is first spawned, its easy to get caught in the upper wall if you press once too quickly, and at the same time sometimes it snaps to the bottom wall with next to no reaction time. Overall I'm surprised by how incredibly well it works though, great job

AeroWrit - Text/Flight Sim by AzimuthGames 2018-04-23T03:07:47Z

Surprisingly intuitive to control the plane like that! The voice over was funny

SurviveTheSkies by SindreGamedev 2018-04-23T13:54:48Z

The graphics and mood are amazing! Top tip, invert the up/down axis;)

Super Platformer RPG by Silent Tower Games 2018-04-24T22:48:43Z

Not sure what I think about the forced deaths, but the systems work as intended and the game sucked me in more than I thought it would
