A lot of fun ! I've been able to finish it but I couldn't unlock all the items... Waiting (not so) patiently for the Behind The Scenes video :v:

A lot of fun ! I've been able to finish it but I couldn't unlock all the items... Waiting (not so) patiently for the Behind The Scenes video :v:
A bit disepointed on the game but in the end i think i liked it how u made like a little story out of the game. Maybe a bit too good graphics and spend a bit more time on more items. Just a question, will u be making a drag and drop tutorial from this game view?
I liked the concept and the idea, the pixel graphics are cool. Waiting for the behind the scenes video so much!
nice! it took me a while to realize that i have to drag the items i made to my inventory but i like it!
Fun concept, I had fun unlocking the items by trying different combinations. It's pretty annoying that the newly crafted items don't appear in you inventory right away, I often forgot to drag them to my inventory myself. The pixel-art is nice, but overall the game looks pretty bland. Also, not all combinations made a lot of sense to me, resulting in a lot of trial-and-error of mindlessly trying different combinations until something happened. It's a nice game, but it definitely needs some polishing.
Very well polished : smooth and pleasent.
Interesting crafting/story game, it's simple but i like it and as a crafting addict i manage to have 39/41 items !
Nice job !
Fun little game. Kinda annoying to drag the newly crafted items into your inventory, but other than that, it's fun trying to unlock all the combinations.
(Shh... there's a typo in the window name lol Untitled.png)
Yeap! Looks great. And also playing great. It's really fun, but sometimes hard to unlock item.
Great little game; loved the sense of wonder and discovery the game has for such a simple concept. It almost reminded me of a 'reverse text adventure' where the images were building the location and setting in my mind instead of words. One change I would consider for future addition is to make single clicking an item either automatically return to the 'inventory' or jump into an open combination slot if one is available.
Got lost in trying to see what I could build. Set out on a goal of building a house, ended up turning a sheep into a potential president of the united states then turned him into dwayne johnson using a rock... This is what video games are about!
P.S. Love the subtle references throughout
I like the concept and it's really well made ! But it becomes a bit annoying when you start having a lot a things to combine and you just don't know which ones to use :/
Feels fun and the desire to unlock all items really drives you to experiment. Draging items back to the inventory is a chore, but you get used to it.
Interesting..... Don't know what I can say about this game besides that. I wonder if you could have done more with this idea.
I love these kind of games! Awesome job!
I've seen a couple variations of this game in the past, and this felt like more of the same exact thing... but I liked the added touch of an overall story and a way to win the game without finding every single combination :)
I just added two items at one place LOL

I like the idea, but it's kinda tough on the user. It would be nice to have somekind of visual feedback when the items don't mix.
That was good, I played till 36/41 but my fingers got tired from the brute-force search. The fantasy part was funny. I totally approve of "Sheep"+"Magic Goo"="Human". The graphics are neat and simple but some effects may have made the game more exciting.
Very nice game. Is nice to look at, the simple concept works very well
That was way more compelling than I expected it to be. A little bit of user interface convenience would go a long way on this game. Instead of having to drag each item out before putting a new one in, just swapping them would probably make the game feel a lot nicer even if it would be quicker to get through. The art style and simplicity of the game works really well. Great work!
Nice game, nice graphics, audio and texts after mixing ;) Looks like Alchemy with fantasy elements.
It's decent. I can't say any more of it, nor any less. Just decent.
The graphical side is done amazingly, and the flavor text of some creations along with the way you create some things have some good sense of humor. The sound effects are also generally very well-made. I'll even be the first to admit I got sucked in trying to 100% it, but quit due to my frustration of ending up brute-forcing it.
Like many people pointed out, however, the fact that you have to take out your crafted material yourself and drop it in your inventory was a questionable design decision, as was the inability to switch out two materials by dragging one on top of the other. These two facts combined made brute-forcing extremely bad, boring and frustrating after a while (especially since the amount of possible combinations increases at such a quick rate).
I saw praise for you trying to incorporate a story into this, and I'll admit I did enjoy that idea. The thing I found rather unsatisfying is how you can just get some of the elements by pure chance it seems. Magic goo and - if I recall correctly - the enemy castle/army just were added to force you further into the supposed "story". I get *why* it was done, but I don't think it was the right way to do it. Either make the player experience it passively or just cut the story-element out entirely.
I'm a fan of your videos and a proud member of the community, so I'm not hating on your game just to hate on it. Again: I enjoyed playing it very much (and it's about a hundred times better than my own entry), but I can't go without noting the problems I found with the game, even if they are *slightly* nit-picky.
Very fun but didn't really get how it connected to the theme.
Opps I broke the game, Added 4 Items ,Hahhahahab.PNG
As always, one of the best game of LD41. I was introduced to Unity by your tutorials only. Because of you I have been able to make this LDJam game of mine. If you want you can try my game here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/memebumps
I hope your student won't disappoint you 😉
Was funny to play even if I got a bit bored at the end! Still nice graphics and audio, and cool idea :)
I really like the game and i really like the detail, that there are 41 items in a Ludum Dare 41-game. Also liked your making of :D
Simple and fun! Would have liked a guide for the 100%. Got to 39.
Got'em all! :DScreenshot_1.png
@aditya-shukla So, you also learnt some Unity tricks from Brackeys! :D
Nice game with simple but adorable art! :D It is intuitive to guess what to connect and that is an advantage :D Liked descriptions of items! As someone said before me here should be some sort of feedback when you didn't match items correctly. Also not sure about theme and whether "Fantasy" and "Realism" are really a genres. Overall it is pretty good game and solid entry! :D
He did it again. It was fun :D
Hey there. Learned a bunch of unity stuff from your videos and since this is my first LD entry using Unity I am really excited to see your entry. I got to the end (I think? I did destroy the world so...that's good right?), but I didn't quite unlock all the entries, so I migth go back and try to do that. The game was fun, but theme wise it does combine falvors/setting rather than genres. Other than great amount of polish as expected =)
Such a great concept! The combining two things to create different things reminds me of an app i played on the first ipod touch. Nostalgia!
Like this concept and implementation. Looks very qualitative. Nice job!
Like this idea and concept. I winning the game with 38/41. PS: Title of project is "Crafy".
Do you have 41 items b/c of ld41?
Incredible as always! Your videos are really cool and they teach me a lot. Keep on the good work!
Oh my gosh. This game is so POLISHED. Well done :D My only complaint is that I couldn't combine the Sheep with the Wizard hat. Like, how awesome could that be???
Amazing I didn't finish it though.. I couldn't figure out what the last 9 items were :frowning: but either way great game! Mind checking out ours: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/toaster-boy
Really enjoyed it, up until around the 30 item mark. It was too tempting to start falling into the trap of cycling through each item to see if ANYTHING combos with it, and mixed with the non-intuitive combinations (or lack of) and the very manual UI made it a bit of a grind to keep searching for item combos. If the descriptions of items had hints of what you could use them with and the alternative combo system was fleshed out a bit more I think I'd enjoy it more.
I had to download the source code to find the recipes for the remaining 5-6 items and I felt more of a "how was I supposed to know that?" or "wait, why doesn't it just take X and Y to make this instead?" instead of really feeling like I missed something.
Not having a win screen once all objects are collected or a credits roll/indicator that the plot is 'done' once you get the world ender is also making the end game a little confusing.
Generally cool idea, and I'd love to see it fleshed out a bit more (a full plot that progresses as you combine new technologies sounds really awesome)!
Really liked this game, fun especially at the start. little repetitive at the end, couldn't discover all of the items, and there's the glitch with the overlapping items that everyone seems to have pointed out already, (it is LD after all so i'm can understand how stuff like that happens) but great overall. Loved the little story, and the jokes on some of the items were hilarious, would have given 6/5 for humor if i could.
I spent the last 30 minutes looking for the last item before I realized I found them all. Also, found a way to reproduce the bug: https://youtu.be/YW7R2OdcSOA
Got them all ALL.png
Nice Game
Excellent idea! To advance gameplay I'll take autoreplace item on recipe table. Dropped item placed and old item returned ...
To advance the theme, maybe take recipe with 3 or 4 items?
Feels like I missed a lot of items (and from all the screenshots I see, I think I definitely did). It was surprisingly fun though, you managed to make a simple mechanic most other games use as a side mechanic and, with it as the focus, crafted an interesting story :)
Not sure about how this mixed to different incompatible genres, but I enjoyed it. I wish dragging an object into a slot already occupied would replace that object. That would save a lot of time. The dragging in and out kind of got old after a while. The fun came from discovering the new items. The pixel art was great too.
Nice game, I had fun playing around with the combinations.
How? Just, how? How do you get the diamond?! Help me... someone.. pls.
@GTomas Hi, can you please tell me how to get the diamond?
@JordernTGH Coal and club. I've found all but "Friendly Army" from screenshots. so fun.
I really wanted to get to items you showed in your video, but every time i try to to one of my items gets stuck between inventory and crafting, like so:
5.png
I wish there was some music in the background, but overall I enjoyed the game, as far as I managed to get through. Other than that I would like to thank you for your videos. They are very well made and on point. Also I'd like to thank you for UPA Toolkit. I used it in this LDjam and it sped up my sprites making a lot. Thanks and Cheers!
Nice game! just wish there was an auto swap function
I wanted to like this but something is telling me don't be silly it's not real.
Not so innovative. Reminds me Alchemy and Doodle God games. Game idea is cool, but I strongly dislike the logic that can explain only author. I tried combinations that as I think should craft something but thy're not works. But other ones (which I never thought) craft new items... Also gmae has some glitches, one time I put into one slot two items...
Decent alchemy game, design wise it's kinda "meh", the drag and drop having to manually replace was a bit tedious after the first 20 or so mix attempts and for some reason the inventory items don't keep any order so once I filled the 7x3 grid i have on screen, had to scroll up+down which was just annoying imo. Graphics and sfx are on point, maybe a bit more sfx couldn't hurt but not a biggie.
Ok, i admit... i cheated. i looked into the source code to find the recipes.
Definitely needs to put discovered items right into inventory and items should swap in the crafting boxes (the dragged one should go in, the previous one should go automatically back to inventory). That's kind of basic UX. The idea is very clever though, interesting storytelling indeed :) Not sure how to go about the trial and error proneness of this concept :(
Great job! I love the art, and the semi-intuitive recipes worked better than most crafting games... Anyway, I do wish for some music, and I do wish it was a bit more innovative.
Good job, and good luck!
Cool game man! I found it a bit tedious to have to move things around so much but it was neat to discover the different items.
Also, I took your tutorial on grenade explosions (and some assets from DevAssets) and turned it into a Jam game. Hope you'll take a look: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/modern-bowlfare
Nice little game, a few quality of life things like outcomes automatically being added to your inventory would be nice, and some of the outcomes seemed a little farfetch'd and unfair but the humour was appreciated! Great job!
A nice game, but i dont,t know the theme
YOU CAN'T TELL ME HOW TO CRAFT!glitch.PNG
But srsly, nice game.
pretty cool. It would have been nice to be able to swap items out without having to remove one of the items first.
Best game I played so far on this LD.
Nice idea !
very interesting that you were able to create a game that deep with such less mechanics, good job
Oh my god! That's very fantasy game. Brackeys.png ( Picture isn't real I have photoshop!)
fun
Great concept! I like the humor and the graphics :) I think the controls would need some more work (kind of annoying to drag and drop items). Maybe a possibility to use keys would help. Would also like if there were some other mechanic in the game since it gets pretty repetitive. Overall a good entry and well done!
Very relaxing this game, but I could not identify which combination of genres was the goal.
I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.
I hope you continue with the project.
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/witchs-escape
Very well polished! Quite enjoyed the combining and the 'encounters' etc., got a little lost though every now and then though.
Screenshot 2018-05-12 at 7.28.09 PM.png Done
I got a twitch streamer to play and I kinda gave him all the answers
It is somehow similar to Doddle God. But amazingly fantastic work.
what are the last 4 combinations
How do you get the diamond?

Friendly army is mindless slaves and axe. By the way, at about four minutes twelve seconds into the video, you can see the graph. It is almost like a cheat sheet, but some elements don't match, and some were never created. If you are stuck, you can use the graph.CraftyLudumDareChart.png
I Have no idea how to play this
Y'all are AMATEURS!2019-10-13 (1).png
I think i found a bug! I can put rock and sand on top of each other in the Right craft Slot!
So Why dont the links work anymore?
Amazing game! I found a bug though where you can put 2 elements on top of each other in the last moment before discovering the new item.image_2022-07-10_142327472.png
Many thanks for the insightful information you provided. It has been difficult for me to come up with numerous queries pertaining to this matter. I will follow you! [among us](https://amongus2.io/)
