It's a great concept, but also the most infuriating game i have ever played :-)

It's a great concept, but also the most infuriating game i have ever played :-)
awesome
Rather challenging, but fun nevertheless. Like the execution and artstyle :-)
The idea is good, but game is really hard. The best part of this game is the story.
It's a very good idea, but I can't complete the first question. It's frustrated. I think it's too hard.
This. Is. AWESOME! Easily the best LD entry I played so far! Nice story elements, with really funny dialogue. The concept is easy to pick up and huge fun to play. The addictive gameplay is rounded off by nice graphics and music. Really nice entry. Huge amounts of fun. :)
Awesome idea, looks so good :)
Played that far longer than I had anticipated! It seems to snap a bit when the tetrominio is first spawned, its easy to get caught in the upper wall if you press once too quickly, and at the same time sometimes it snaps to the bottom wall with next to no reaction time. Overall I'm surprised by how incredibly well it works though, great job
Great concept, though it's the second most stressful game I've played so far. :P
This is soo annoying I love it :D Great mashup, love the fact you added a full story and everything. Surprisingly challenging but goals are fair
Thanks so much everyone!
@oivin-f I totally get that top wall thing, I need to add a tweak to more forcefully centre the blocks. I've tried to make the start of each block a little forgiving, but it's hard to make too many changes without breaking the rhythm you need for the rest of the flight.
Perfect idea! I was combining the Flappy genre as well, check out [Flappy Soccer](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/flappy-soccer)
I like the story a lot! :p The flapping not so much. ;)
Idea is nice, universe is fun, difficulty is very challenging!
Great idea - absolutely infuriating to play! Love the scenes between each day, though!
"This is really remarkably difficult" - Backwards L. . Been looking forward to playing this. From the screenshots in your blog posts I thought "How hard could this possibly be? I mean, it's only Tetris"... what an incorrect assumption. Despite being incredibly difficult, especially once you reach level 4, it is an incredibly fun game, with a very unique and well-executed twist. And the story mode was like the icing on the cake - it kept me playing, for I had to be strong for the Tetronominoes! Well done.
the beggining is great and the gameplay is awesome! I like the bejewled satire
@SuperTibbles My girlfriend didn't know what Bejeweled was. I should have made it Candy Crush! (Also, free puns; "We're gonna get candy crushed!")
I didn't expect an included story! It's quite fun and the combination is very original. It is difficult, but not frustrating. Bonus points for the wings.
Me cago en dios que dificil pero que hermoso.
Angering, but a neat idea!
The game is AWFUL! Awfully cool. What a great idea, it is this frustration that made Flappy Bird what it is today.
Really nicely executed, I had a great laugh at the story. I love tetris and I hate Flappy Bird and this game took me for a frustrating but rewarding ride!
The graphics and music are nice and the gameplay is very easy to figure out, no confusion there! I also like how you put the control instructions in the story, very nice!
One thing that made me upset is that the preview pieces have a different rotation when they appear. This made me rotate them wrong many times before I decided to just ignore the preview.
Overall a great game, 5 stars from me :-)
OMG this is awesome. The storyline is the best that i've seen do far. Yes, the game is a little hard, but i've never been good with tetris or flappy bird. Extraordinary job!
I like the fact that the game has a story line! And the concept is well executed.
This was pretty fun! One thing that I definitely did not like was the fact that touching a side wall instantly locked down the piece. This made it very difficult to correct mistakes, since once a line has a gap in it, there's basically no way to fix it. The failure quotes helped me keep going to the end, though.
Great game idea. My favorite so far!! Gets pretty difficult! phew! Great humor and loved the storyline :)
Great job!
Very nice idea. I found the edges to be quite unforgiving though :)
Great theme and funny, but not *fun*. The controls were harder than they needed to be. I reckon you took the difficulty from Flappy Bird and not from Tetris.
Thanks all for the feedback and encouragement.
@gonutz Very kind words! I'd like to do a V2 for Android, and default the shapes to be on their side. Should make the preview match, and also the game a touch easier for those first 2 clicks!
This's the flappybird mechanic put to good use, although it gets frustrating maybe a tad too easily. Also, the blocks sometimes seem to start so low, that they drop on the bottom level immediatelly.
Best part for me is probably the story since the writing's hillarious.
Oh, and Zig and Zag are the worst! To hell with them...
And you were commenting on **my** weird-control-tetris being too difficult. Anyway, of two Flappy Tetrises in this compo yours is the better one. Five stars out of five.
I really liked that you mimicked the difficulty and frustration level of Flappy Bird. In contrary to Flappy Bird, your game is actually fun and rewarding to play and combines some sensible humor in it. The story telling is good mechanism to explain the game controls. Some future suggestions might include a reset button because sometimes you just know that your level is screwed. I also would like to be able to change the direction of the block when it is sliding across the ceiling or floor.
Very nice game in overall.
@SecretPocketCat Totally agree, definitely something to tweak for V2. Cheers!
@Synedraacus Yes, I'm throwing stones in a glass house! Thanks a lot.
@resivium Thanks for the specific feedback! I'm definitely wracking my brain for a way to do rotation while "sticking", because there's a lot of room for it to turn into a glitch-fest.
Nice game with pretty good art, and a nice story at the beginning, although, there are a weird things, like touching anything will put the block down, making controls a little weird, although prety good
Oooooh, this infuriates me in the good way. Really never thought of combining flappy with tetris. I also didn't expect a story, but I found those few parapgraphs funny! I believe you have a sweet arcade game to work on :)
This game is way more fun than it has any right to be. Seriously phenomenal. My only suggestion would be adding a button to instantly restart a level. I am currently stuck on level 4, though I plan to keep trying.
Wow, what a great game, with seriously impressive level of polish and amount of content for a COMPO game.
Very nice graphics, and I love the jokes in the story.
The game concept is very clever, and it works very nicely.
I had problem with the up arrow making the block fly instead of rotating it. Up arrow to rotate the tetromino is the industry standard, and muscle memory really screwed me up several times.
Quick restart button missing is a big minus. Once, I instinctively pressed f5 to restart level 4 (after like 8 failed runs), and my progress didn't get saved either. Shame...
Is it possible to both love and hate a game at the same time? Because, if so, that's how I feel about this game. It's totally a fantastic idea, but man do I hate flappy-bird...
Haha, really cool idea. Very challenging. Great use of the theme and great sense of humour!
Lovely graphics, challenging game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 41 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPm7OCu9cQ8
flappy blocks 16 lines.png
Can't stop playing this :| By the way, it seems that despite the blue zig-zag being introduced in the story mode, it's not actually in the pool of available pieces until you get to endless mode...
One of the best game entry in LD41 so far. Really nothing could have been better! Well done brother!
Btw try out our game here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/memebumps Thanks!
This is super nice story and super cool gameplay. Music little bit too repetitive, but fits gameplay perfectly. Full screen would be awesome too. (Found your game via https://www.twitch.tv/elysiagriffin)
Saw it on elysiagriffin's stream. The story and dialogues are soooo cute :3 and the gameplay is solid!
Nice fun game, I like it lots. The omnious look at camera. Very motivating.

Thanks a lot again for all the feedback!
@BoltKey Absolutely, going to do some testing with a restart button/undo mechanics for a version 2, to see how to solve it when a level feels unwinnable.
@Noxbuds Great score! I've only managed 10 :)
Hi, I promised on twitter that I would check your game out, so here I am ! As expected, it's a really nice game, damn hard and frustrating ! I didn't manage to make even 1 line, but I'm already bad at classic tetris, I had no chance at this one ... Congrats !
Funny and clever idea but impossible to play. Mechanic too confused with strange collision boxes... Even when I figured out the rules I had more and more mistakes.
But very triked game, if this one be more polished.....
I quite enjoyed that, I did. Interesting how you make up entirely different strategies with such similar gameplay. The Tetronominoes each have such a distinct personality, it's wonderful.
O: I admire your creativity. Love it!
It is infuriatingly good! Love the little wings on the bricks. :)
we've also made a flappy game (even considered mixing in Tetris, but found it technically to daunting in he free time we've had over the weekend) and mixed Flappy Bird with Pong (aka Tennis for Magnavox Odyssey): [Flong!](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/flong) it really wants 2 players tho.
Is this what you like? Do you like seeing me in pain?
Jokes aside, this game is fantastic! Every works together nicely, and it even makes me hate myself like Flappy Bird once did. Great job!
It is clearly more than the sum of both parts. Very well done! I love it.
This is one of the best game I played so far. I loved the graphics, gameplay, and especially the story. Although i found it difficult, I was only able to get my first line on the third day, Overall great job on the game.
aha fun, i see i was not the only one mixing a Tetris like with something else ;)
that's crazily reusing the hardcore-ness of flappy bird I love it
Woaw, I feel this is the best LD entry :)! Not only the idea is brilliant and perfectly executed, but the game is also humorous.
Gameplay-wise, it's has infuriating as Flappy Bird while being as captivating as Tetris.
It's the perfect LD entry, congrats!
This is a nightmare. I love it.
(More serious feedback: Loved the little story beats. Controlling the blocks was sooooo tedious, but that's sort of the point, so I really appreciate how annoying it is. Music was serviceable, but got grating after a little while.)
This is one of the best game of this jam, although I do hate you. Whole lotta hate. Highest rate of insult to the screen per minute so far. I managed to get to level 3 but after that man I'm losing my sanity.
The writing is gold. The game works really well and is actually fun even if oh so painful. The graphics are cute and efficient (and that wing animation  ).
I do have some gripes though. I'd like to see how many lines I've managed to get so far somewhere on that UI. AND THE MUSIC, the music is fine at first, but as the 3 notes that make it repeat unendlessly my mental health goes down the drain. It blends with difficulty perfectly to create psycho killers. Like if you want to polish the game please add some variety to this music, I'm begging you.
You really did a good job, congrats :ok_hand: !
(ps: I still hate you tho)
So much great feedback, thank you all.
@Ashtrail @HacksawUnit I'll definitely have to work with someone more talented musically taking this forward. I claim no expertise!
Thiiiiis damn game!!!! It's hard and innovative! Liked it! Good job!
I can't say much, cause I also made what basically turns into a rage game, but omg I was getting frustrated playing this!
This game is executed very well, definitely one of the most polished of the jam, and the narrative is cute as heck. But I'm bad at both Tetris and Flappy Bird so now I'm just gonna rant at you to make me feel better about my own shortcomings.
(In all seriousness, great work!)
Good job! Cool game! Very creative and well executed idea.
I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.
I hope you continue with the project.

I love it! The combination of the meticulous strategy of Tertis with the frustrating imprecision of Flappy Bird is genius. I've played a lot of Tetris close this Ludum Dare, but this has to be the best one. Having to line up your pieces really adds to the game; you wind up making these back boards to make it easier to line up your shots. I love the feeling of trying to keep things together as everything slowly goes terribly wrong. Also, the dialog and story are incredibly clever and witty. Overall amazing package. Excellent work!
Played both yours and the other flappy tetris, and got to say that I like yours more! There's a bit more predictability around the movement of the blocks although still super frustrating to play. Great job in slotting in that story, made it to the end!
Nice concept! The game is hard (as intended) but very fun!
Wow, this was pretty awesome. A surprisingly harmless idea, but there's actually quite a bit of strategy behind it -- as others have noted, you sort of end up making these "lanes" on the sides of the well to make it easier to drop pieces in, so the strategy is to stack in sort of a concave shape. level 4 is brutal, but it felt oh-so-sweet to finally clear it. And of course the little story was such a nice touch! Great job!
This was very fun and addicting game to play. I'm impressed that you were able to retain both the puzzle element of tetris and the frustration of flappy bird in this game. I like the slow introduction of bringing in the shapes one by one along with your story. I would love it to have some winning sound or graphic when the needed number of lines were cleared. I get so caught up in the game that there is always a moment of confusion when I win and the pieces don't fly anymore. Those are just minor things though. Good work making something both brutal and endearing.
The game had a pretty interesting concept but it was really hard. I really liked the audio and the polish behind the game. The graphics were somewhat decent. I liked how the dialogue looked like it was being written and I liked the sound effects that were played with the dialogue and I liked the font. I also thought the story was very intriguing and funny. I liked how you made fun of the pay to win model that is found in lots of free to play games. I do wish that you could have been more clear about how to make lines, as I originally thought that I could make horizontal lines in the game. Even though the gameplay was difficult, I was amazed at how interesting the dialogue was after defeat. It seemed like the dialogue was completely different every time the player lost. I have a question: is there a set amount of dialogue and is the dialogue randomly picked from the set for every time the player loses? Well, it is true that I did not play the game for too long so maybe the dialogue just seemed unique every time I lost.
P.S. Why did you remove the mood category for the game? I think that the game had a pretty good mood to it.
Awesome entry! Two games combined suddenly open up the whole new layer of tactics. I find that the most effective strategy is to prepare the field for future blocks with safe positioning and then score with the move that's hard to miss because of beforehand planning. Like that: Untitled.png
