LD39 — Running out of Power

Dryad by Zarkonnen 2017-08-02T09:24:34Z

I admire that at least somebody is thinking outside the 'battery and electricity power' concept. The art and sounds effect are good and sets a good atmosphere.

I find the controls a bit quirky. Sometimes it happens that when you are standing against a rock and want to jump, you get stuck and have to go back a bit and re attempt the jump.

For me, the game could use another mechanism to make it more interesting. Now I get the feeling I have to replay the same level the whole time but with less powers. Maybe some other enemies and compensation for the lose of power could help.

Btw, what is supposed to be the ending? I get to the last artifact that simply give me no options anymore to reduce my powers. I hate it when there is no closure.

Artax by Flaterectomy 2017-08-01T19:33:04Z

I really like how the robot and the girl immediately like each other. Fun game to play and very nice job on the art work!

The Stonemont Chronicles by zedutchgandalf 2017-08-03T09:28:05Z

This is an ambitious project you worked out in a short amount of time, congratz!

Good job on the game mechanism and event scripting. It is simple, yet effective. I also liked the dry humor.

Turn Towards the Light by Selgeron 2017-08-02T09:09:16Z

I find it kinda weird to do Sonic-like movement in the setting you created here. I don't find it very convenient to do either. There is also some inconsistency on how to kill enemies; when I hit their head, they hit me and when I jump on their back, they are dead.

Nice work on the art and the mood though! A little bit better character movement physics and I would play it again.

Owld by TeddyDD 2017-08-01T19:41:08Z

Quite the funny game this is! The game plays smooth, the art is decent and there is a story behind it. I only missed some goal in the game. This could be accomplished with a scoreboard. You should also avoid spawning new objects right above the house.

You put the theme into an unique perspective, good job!

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Bones for the Bone God by Azargaz 2018-12-04T10:29:23Z

Fun little puzzles! Nice job on building more and more difficult levels.

One piece of feedback: I'm not really a fan of using the mouse to lock and unlock skeletons. Maybe you should be able to move only one skeleton and just cycle between the one that is active by pressing a key.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Railgear by Hadik 2018-04-25T16:08:35Z

It's a fun simulator but I don't get the relation with the theme?

Friendship Fighter by Evan Minto 2018-04-24T08:43:10Z

I like the graphics. I feel you could have done more; for example add more enemies, power-ups and introduce some randomness into the fighting patterns.

Think Hockey by RilleP 2018-04-26T08:45:22Z

Not really incompatible genres for me, I actually find it compatible and enjoying. I think most LD games are played by one person so I would focus more on the AI next time because I found it pretty easy to exploit (for example, nobody has the puck and it could not reach it with one move so it started moving all his player to the front). In my case, the AI froze, leading to a rage quit on my side.

Cinema Drive by Texou31 2018-04-27T14:57:51Z

Cool mash-up of story telling and driving. I feel a bit stretched to play this game because the driving goes pretty fast making it hard to follow the text while at the same time I didn't feel the urge to retry because I didn't want to hear the same lines over and over again.

A small bug fix to consider: sometimes the text overflows the screen.

Mayor Metal Man by randomphantom 2018-04-28T16:30:47Z

Fun game! I was mind blown when I could exit the city view and walk around in the city I was building! The power-ups in the buildings are nice and welcome to battle the zombies and UFO's.

I do have some performance issues on Linux but it didn't hinder to much for playing the game. I would also be nice to extend the 'city defense' part by allowing to build walls and tactical structure once you have your economy right.

Triassic Park by GiraffeCat 2018-04-25T20:29:03Z

Nice visuals and good use of sound to really get the feeling you are being chased. An example game or warning like 'feed the dinosaurs' might smooth the learning curve.

Flappy Blocks by Radical Dog 2018-04-24T14:38:20Z

I really liked that you mimicked the difficulty and frustration level of Flappy Bird. In contrary to Flappy Bird, your game is actually fun and rewarding to play and combines some sensible humor in it. The story telling is good mechanism to explain the game controls. Some future suggestions might include a reset button because sometimes you just know that your level is screwed. I also would like to be able to change the direction of the block when it is sliding across the ceiling or floor.

Very nice game in overall.

Flappy Soccer by Teo SK 2018-04-25T08:52:07Z

Probably the most incompatible genre merge with flappy bird I've encountered up to now. Good job at that.

Intergalactic Goblin Ramming Speed! by IndieLucky 2018-04-27T15:06:16Z

Yaaaaaaaaaaay, sow chaos while not having a real goal! just enjoy!

Parashoot by Gnurf 2018-04-24T08:51:48Z

Fun mechanism and good humor. I would have liked to see a progress bar or something to indicate where the game is going.
