Super slick looking graphics, and, I have to say, sliding puzzles are a secret pleasure of mine (something nostalgic about them).
Perhaps a double meaning of "Ancient Technology!"

Super slick looking graphics, and, I have to say, sliding puzzles are a secret pleasure of mine (something nostalgic about them).
Perhaps a double meaning of "Ancient Technology!"
Fun. A nice twist on the infinite runner.
Those poor caveman.
Cool! Awesome that you were able to put this together over a weekend. Nice graphics and level design.
The sword swing feels a little sluggish in comparison with the super-reactive jump. I wonder if there's a way to balance out that feel a little bit as you move forward with revisions.
I love this!
Really refreshing look, and makes me think I should build my visual style from the ground up every time I start anew.
I hadn't played the (analog version of this) game before, so it took me a few times to figure out what was going on.
Aweome idea. Running on OSX I seemed to have some bugginess, especially when flying the spaceship, but a little post-LD clean up and this can be an amazing experience.
Quadrillions of worlds to discover....
Oh man, this is a cool idea, but SUPER hard. I wonder if there's a way to simplify a bit. Perhaps the time limit is a bit much
That said, I did get 90% with an attempt that I don't think was very successful, so at least your grading is fairly generous.
Cool idea!
I wish this had been what the movie "Stargate" was about...
This is a lot of fun (but makes me a little dizzy, as I just circled the pyramid).
I really like all the original 3d art.
I win. Hooray!
Very fun. Great feel and graphics. Also great engagement with the theme.
I'd love to see this expanded somehow. Everyone loves upgrades!
I love this art style, but I can't hit anything for the life of me!
...Oh! I got one.
I'd love to play an Okami-style game with this art style-- less shooting, more just riding with the buffalo.
Fun game, neat controls!
It's pretty hard off the bat! I'm more a casual gamer, admittedly, but my preference would be to have a level or two to help me get used to things before ramping up.
Whoa. Very nice work. The controls feel great, and it's just a lot of fun. Really satisfying.
Great job.
Nice. Super smooth graphics and sound.
Platformers stress me out, but the Super-Meat Boy style of instant respawn makes it a much better experience.
Cool! Yeah, nice game mechanic and implementation of the Pico-8's limited interface options (i.e. arrows and two buttons).
The puzzle-platforming got a bit tough for me, but I'm a chump at this stuff anyway.
I win! The king lives!
Great music and original graphics.
Fantastic!
Once again my Pico-8 tile-making skills have been put to shame.
I also really like how it's one continuous level, rather than loading for each individual puzzle. It really gives this the old-school-graphics-with-new-school-feel combination.
I really like this game! Tower defense plus hand of god.
I can only play on web-player, though, so I wish those little guys were a bit bigger.
Cool! This is pretty fun, and I love the way the game teaches you how to play as it goes.
Perhaps a countdown timer to increase the tension a little bit?
Cool. I had fun cleaning and packing the objects. (Should I say that you put the "fun" in "funeral?").
For the time limit, there's a lot of reading. I have to admit I just skipped it...
Someone come play with me!
Awesome to have created an online multiplayer game over the weekend.
This looks beautiful, and I wish I could read Chinese characters!
Nice. Reminds me of hunting in "Oregon Trail" combined with a rougelike!
Cool! The lighting is really nice. I'm completely sure what I'm doing though. What are your controls? I got direction arrows, mouse, and space for jump, but is there an interact?
Nice survival game.
I think I need some more instructions (on where to click, etc).
Awesome! Great graphics (and the monochrome was an excellent touch) with the cheesy 1960s background music (because, hey, it's ancient.
Smooth controls too.
Fun. Very cool music. It's definitely the appropriate vibe.
Nice vibe.
Way too hard for me though, but that's on me.
Oh man, I like this. It took me a second to remember how to paddle a canoe. That's a really fun control mechanic.
Of course nice, bright, energetic overall look too.
Whoa. Super fun. Very visually appealing especially in merging the different art styles.
Neat! I don't have a mousewheel, just my Mac touchpad gestures, so the sensitivity on rotating stuff was a bit manic (again, a nice clicking scrollwheel would be different). Of course I read later that you can also use Z and C....
Cool! Very cool and cute art, and I love shooting stars any chance I can get.
Very cool!
Cute and funny. I really like the graphics, music, and the writing. Pretty much the whole package.
It kind of feels like a bit of a crapshoot which option I should select at any time. Perhaps I just haven't figured out the hints yet.
By the way, the web player version took a looooooong time to load. I'm not sure if that's anything you can fix though.
Cool. I second the comment about this working well as a mobile game.
It brings me back to the old days of patching synthesizers.
That would be an awesome bonus stage!
Very cool, if a little disturbing.
I didn't figure out I could shoot the little rings until I had gone through once. Perhaps a little note about that would help.
Keep up the good work!
Oops! I see now that you mention shooting in the instructions! My bad!
Super cool art style and music.
I think this might certainly be worth pursuing after the jam to see where it might go.
I definitely got one of the patterns wrong and was still able to progress, though.
Hahahaha. This makes me super-happy.
I love the idea of turning the whole Tomb-Raiding thing on its head and playing as the one being raided.
One of the robbers should have a whip and an Indiana Jones hat!
Oh man. I love homebrew, Pico-8, and ancient Egypt, so this is a total perfect storm.
I wish there were some hints about the ratios. It's a little daunting for me jumping right in. Any chance a "getting started" FAQ might be in the works?
Cute game! Too hard for me, but I got a few of those recipes out in time.
Really nice sound, graphics, and overall aesthetic.
Cool graphics and controls (I love the old keyboard navigation over the newfangled mouse+wasd).
If I found the cat, did I win?
These graphics make me so happy.
Super cool! This is like Swords and Sworcery meets Electroplanton.
Nice work on aesthetically unified, meditative experience (something not easy to accomplish in the rush to complete something in 48 hours...)
Very nice overall aesthetic. Maybe a simple little computer terminal hum is all the game needs for audio.
I really dig the sort of CRT retro-future design. This reminds me of Ridley Scott's Alien.
Ok, that's an awesome idea.
Later on, I'd love to hear/read about your thoughts and process in putting this together.
You should check out an audio piece by Mark Wingate called "Welcome to Medicare!"
You can listen here: http://www.cs.lewisu.edu/artofmemory/data/spring2010Pages/s2010_13.php
Ha! Very cool. Now I feel like all of those hours I spent playing LA Noire weren't wasted.
Nice writing and concept in line with the theme.
Hi all. Thanks for all your great comments and feedback.
Just following up that no, there's no end condition (good or bad). You just get caught in an infinite loop of new game+.
I wrote this somewhere else too, but, yeah, perhaps this is less a "game" in the traditional sense, and more of an "interactive experience" (or something like that).
There's no winning or losing, but my hope is that it's a fun ride for a few minutes.
Very cool. Really impressive that all of the art was done during the jam. The difficulty ramps up pretty quickly after the music changes. It was quickly too much for me.
Love the music too!
Oh man, this reminds me of writing "turtle" back in the day (that's what it was called, right?).
I love me some algorithmic gameplay.
Hahaha. I got silver-surfered. Well done, sir.
I touched a thing! Cool integration of the theme and definitely an original idea!
The sound design is really what makes it though.
More like this!
Cute. I love the NES-style graphics and especially the sound. I also like how this twin-stick shooter has and ending condition! A lot of the LD games this time were infinite waves, which is great, but it's sometimes nice to have a goal!
Nice little adventure game. Some more object descriptions (or mouse-over stuff) might make the puzzles a little less opaque.
Wow, really impressive work for 72 hours. I love the detail in the graphics and gameplay.
Cool game, great music! Seriously, that's a crazy amount of music for a weekend. Congratulations.
Fast and frenetic! Is hipster-hate still a thing? Did that go the same way as yuppies?
Super-cool Lovecraftian vibe. I want to finish this game, but I'm stuck! I'll have to wait for the final version with walkthrough.
Works for me - Firefox on a Mac. I love the beautifully hideous graphics and simple gameplay!
Beautiful! Controls feel really good and I love the vaporwave vibe.
Great work.
Stylish, and I love the visceral feel with the SFX and screen shake. Crunchy!
As advertised, this is a ball in a room! I think my final score was -3.
Good luck with your continuing work in Unity!
Extremely challenging, but a really impressive compo entry. Perhaps it could ramp up a little slower to give the player a chance to get a hang of the controls.
Great animations!
I like the idea of rotating the room, but it doesn't work so well on my machine (Mac) for whatever reason.
I love that this is the SECOND Roomba-related game that I've played in this LD. Those robots need all the love that they can get.
I need more friends to play these 2P games with!
Very cool. I dig the surrealist space theme, and I like the puzzles.
My music got crazier and crazier as time went on, perhaps things are stacking on top of each other unintentionally?
Very cool idea. I did get it stuck once (running on Firefox on a Mac), but nothing a quick restart couldn't fix.
Ha! I failed at being a hikikomori. Great graphics and animations for a 72 hours!
Neat! Fun concept, and I love how your abilities slowly unfold as you're taught the game.
The platforming is tough for me as a casual gamer. There are weird things where you bounce off walls when you jump, and when you're dangling from edges.
Great innovative take on the theme, and I like the chill-out background music too.
It's a pig! Cute graphics. Congratulations on your first Ludum Dare. Well done.
Nice. Well, this probably simulates what it's like to work in a post office in outer space.
It's the most I've ever typed the word "Uranus."
Awesome. I like this kind of game, and I think you have the scale just right (much longer and it might get tedious).
Great graphics. I got a little tired of the music loop in the background. If you were looking to revise/expand, I might consider changing the music for the different seasons.
Grisly and mildly addictive. Great work with the graphics (and I like the chippy music too).
Cool! Nice integration of the theme, and a fun platformer! A little too hard for me, but I do like how you instantaneously just restart the level so you can try again.
Erg! I died.... again. Great graphics and mood. I think I just need to practice my first-person controls..
Cute! Love the graphics. I wish I had a game-pad to hook up because these things never feel right with the keypad and mouse.
There are a lot of twin-stick shooters in this LD! It's great to see the variety in aesthetics though. Let me know if you ever want some music!
Cool. Great that you were able to create multiple minigames over the course of 48 hours!
Whoa. That is a total trip and really fun!
That was a thing! I love the art style, and the backstory comic. I'm not sure if I was doing the biomechanical lizard any damage, but I loved the trip!
Whoa. Crazy. I'm not sure what just happened, but it was awesome. The level reminded me of Super Metroid.
Great work with the art. Even in silhouette all of those monsters looked really menacing.
Very cool original idea.
Cool! Short and sweet, with great retro-synth music.
Wait. Did I just play a South Park?
Cool idea and neat game. Really impressive graphics and aesthetics for 48 hours of work.
I'm playing on Mac and a lot of the text overlaps for me, so I think I missed a lot of what was happening.
Graphics look good.
Very cool. I was a little nervous about all the instructions, but once I got rolling it was a lot simpler than I thought (and fun too).
I also like how the music changes! It keeps things from getting dull.
The current version works fine on my Mac. Fun! But also really hard (though admittedly a bit out of my wheelhouse). Keep up the great work!
Funny. I actually really like Yoko Ono!
Great sound and fun game!
Great work. Really nice graphics (I love whatever post-processing it is that you're doing), and good atmosphere overall.
Whoa. Very cool and nicely put together aesthetic. I really like the audio concept (I should have been wearing headphones!)
The text jitters a bit to much for me, maybe a smidge less would help me understand what I'm doing!
I had the cat running back and forth a bunch, but I couldn't figure out what the next steps was. Any hints?
Fun! I wasn't sure what I was doing the first time, but it's simple and challenging!
Oh man, the zombies took over the world because of me...
I really like the concept, but this is a little hard for me. I wish I had an iframe or two when opening and closing cabinets.
Great door sound!
Great work for 2 hours. Meta-Ludum Dare 37!
Yes! This is great. I love how there are multiple solutions, and the overall graphics/feel/aesthetics is just packed with playfulness.
^ Same error for me on the web player.
Cool! I got hooked on one of these clicking games a few months back, so I know how addictive they can be! (and I actually had to stop myself).
Great music and atmosphere.
Erg. My poor space bar. I like the idea, and the fact that I as the player have to invest some serious effort, but I've got to admit that clicking games aren't my bag. I feel like I'm in a "Resident Evil" QTE.
Couldn't place the titles (in HTML5 verision).
I'm running the web version on Firefox, and it seems to not be fully functional (crashes on betting on the match, can't click to bet in roulette, etc.
Great! It reminds me of "Robo-Rally." Definitely a game for programmers!
That was a thing. Parody? Game surrealism?
Wait, aren't there two rooms?
Very cool! I love the audio and graphics (and concept)
The game is a pretty challenging, and doesn't seem to reward skillful play sometimes.
Nice. I love the stylized art (perhaps a necessity for a 48-hour jam, but still unique). It's a little hard for me, but I wouldn't consider myself a real gamer.
Since the rules keep changing as I go it feels like a bit of trial and error. Perhaps a little more time to think and casual gamers like me would be thrilled.
Cool. I clicked on things. The room got pimped!
Grim stuff! Even though this is text-based, it's quite a gruesome trip (perhaps maybe its BECAUSE it leaves everything up to my imagination). Of course I think that's what you're going for!
I think your idea of introducing a tutorial level will help a lot.
Nice work!
Great work. An unexpectedly grim turn at the end, though. Kind a pixelated "Dead Space"....
Fantastic job on the graphics. I'll have to check out Pyxel Edit!
Cool. I love the overall vibe and the graphics style. The controls were a bit frustrating for me, something about how the isometrics lined up with the arrows, I kept pushing in the wrong direction, but that's probably just me.
Cool! Great atmosphere (and fantastic music). I like that it's a kind of sophisticated "spot the difference" game. I felt the ending was a bit abrupt (and possibly a little heavy-handed), but I really enjoyed the experience!
Wow. I really don't get it, but I really like it! I seem to be able to achieve peace consistently.
Great art/music style.
Where's John Stamos?
Cool game. The controls take some getting used to, but I like that you added more dimension than just shoot-the-other-guy.
This is a great idea. And I loved the dog theme (it made me nostalgic for the ending of "Silent Hill 2").
I keep getting embargoed, though.
Cool. I played it twice and got very different paths, but with the same ending (not sure if there are other options).
Great work for 72 hours. I'd be interested to see where the "finished" version takes you.
Ahhh! Fractals!
Great concept, but I'm not sure I understand the reason for force-based controls.
Great graphics, and interesting story.
The difficulty ramp is a bit too much for me. Level 2 was already a bit crazy considering the responsiveness of player controls. I'm ok with my guy being a bit unwieldy, but then asking me to do speed trials is a rough for a casual gamer like me.
Great game. I'm blown away that people can make puzzle games in 72 hours.
You've got a great, simple mechanic that you teach well, and the puzzles end up being quite challenging through the emergent complexity!
Great! This is tons of fun and fast paced. I'm not sure that I'm doing it right, but I do OK.
Love the speedy feel and casual graphics style.
Wow. Fantastic story, very cosmic-horror-ish. The whole plot unfolds in an interesting way too. I would play a series of horror games like this (like a set of short stories).
Is there more than one ending?
Wow. Very cool. Great idea for a game, and excellent execution in setting the mood with the sound design and visuals.
Hahaha! Cool. I love that it's pandas (for no particular reason).
Cool. Cat vs. spiders! I love the pixelated splash screen at the beginning. It reminds me of "Zombies Ate My Neighbors."
Love it! (But it needs music and sound). Great comic-Lovecraft crossover.
No ending? I got Cthulhu and all the books...
A very well put-together interactive experience. My usual comments include comments such as "fun!" and "nice!" but I don't think those words can appropriately describe the experience (and, of course, that's not what you were shooting for).
Very cool! Works perfectly for me in Firefox (though I think my tea was likely way oversteeped).
I made it great!
Fun game. Nice mechanics, and I want more levels!
Neat! I like the mechanics and the concept!
Nice. Short and to the point, and it's a tile-sliding game with some motivation!
Great! A truly original and horrifying situation. It's a great take on the theme too.
I guess scatological humor is ok if it's in lofi graphics form.
Kind of neat (and actually the second dungeon cleaning game I played this Ludum Dare!). I really like the art style, and the efforts you put into that too.
There's a lot of reading to learn the game, and it's made challenging by the action happening off screen. Perhaps post-jam you can integrate more show-not-tell.
Great puzzles! This could be a really interesting game if you choose to pursue it.
My one issue was that even when I knew the solution to the puzzle, executing it was sometimes irritatingly difficult. This started on level 5. I have no problem with tricky stuff, but perhaps if you revised the controls to feel a little tighter it would fix all of that.
That was a trip. I love the art style and overall aesthetic. The attack and move controls didn't feel great, but I'm not terribly used to these things (not since Link to the Past)...
Fun idea! This is tough for me, because I'm not really sure about the elemental stuff (perhaps I need to play more Final Fantasy). Great concept, though.
Wonderfully subversive!
Nice work integrating a story into your game in such a short time. I get a bit frustrated about hitting the side of spikes.
Nice level design.
My mama called the doctor, and the doctor said this game is fun!
...Ok, sorry, I probably should take a nap.
Great graphics/aesthetics. A really fun kids' game.
This is a great idea, and a really clever integration of the theme.
I'm not sure what my goal is (score attack?).
Excellent concept and execution. It's totally one of those "why didn't I think of that ideas!"
Very well done!
Great graphics and control. It took me a moment to figure out I couldn't kill enemies with boxes, but after that it went much more smoothly.
Great original idea. I'm not sure I completely understand the clock, but I like the idea of skipping work.
^ I'm not sure it's working for me either. How do I know if a camera is recording? Is it recording as long as I click and hold or am I toggling it on and off? Maybe some visual or audio feedback as to when we're rolling?
Nice job taking the twin-stick shooter in a slightly different direction. I really like the little details like how the room splits apart for the enemies to come in.
I like the lo-fi graphics style here. The lion heads kicked my butt, though.
Wow! Tremendously polished, great music and graphics, and really fun.
Outstanding work for 72 hours!
I am a terrible, terrible hotel manager, but the game is fun. Great use of the one-room theme.
Wow. Super-fun game. I love the "Hold E" mechanic for upgrades, etc. I will say I couldn't find a chance to get the rifle. Once I had enough scraps the zombies were too thick for me to hold E long enough.
Also, my axe stopped working halfway through. Is that supposed to happen?
Cool! I have to admit I had to peek at the walkthrough to find the "hidden" item.
It's a neat idea for a one-room mystery. I'd play a series of rooms like this.
^ 404 not found.
Superb concept, and excellent execution. I love it. I lost track of time creating different situations.
The music could change too! Multiple layers of audio supporting your visual concept!
Great! It's structured just like a children's story, with repetition and evolution in nice balance. If there were voice acting my son would love it!
Disgusting and seasonably appropriate.
Wow. I love the style and the animation. I assume that I've done everything in the incomplete version by clicking around a little bit.
Is this drawn-on-film animation?
Hi. Running on Mac, but I'm not sure if it's not working or if I just don't know what to do! I got from the bedroom into another room, and couldn't figure out what to do next!
Great concept! It reminds me of this mobile game I played years ago called something like "middle manager of justice."
I'm playing the web version, and the text is a little hard for me to read.
Hahahaha. Very nice. My clicking finger is exhausted.
Whoa! Crazy cool. I love me some turn-based strategy.
Beautiful. I didn't come up with a screenshot I liked, but I do so like rolling around pastel blocks.
Ha! Great fun, and smart integration of the theme (if there's only one room...).
I love the pixel-art despite the gross humor!
Wow. I love this game (and I played it until I was acquitted).
Really nice work for 48 hours!
Love it! Great graphics and fun puzzles.
It needs some fun BGM!
Neat! Oh wait, everyone is already making that joke.
But, really, that's a great way to put it. Straightforward idea, and clean execution. Well done.
Cool and grisly.
Whoa. Great concept, groovy graphics and sound. Not sure why I have an oven and toilet in the same room. As a "casual gamer" I needed more hints on how to get around (had I been hardcore I would have drawn myself a map). That said, I believe I found the poster!
Nice! My brain doesn't move fast enough, though. Great idea, and fun too.
Really innovative idea. I love the mix of low-fi graphics with a modern game concept.
This is especially impressive for a compo entry made from scratch!
Cool idea! The difficulty ramp was too much for me, but I'm not an experienced factory worker.
Fun art and music!
Cool! One-room survival horror! I didn't realize how sparse the bullets were at the beginning and I held down the fire button, leading to my swift demise.
My second run went much better.
Cool! A boss is me!
I'm not sure the music is terribly appropriate...
Whoa, that was a trip.
Am I hypnotized now?
I win!
Very cool. I love the art style, and I really like the whole idea of the "game" too.
FYI, for me, in Firefox, the right side of the game is cut off, so I had to keep guessing the last word of each line.
I escaped! I like the art style you have, and I'd love to see it animated (even in a low-fi kind of way).
Cool. I love the puzzle games people make in Ludum Dare, since I would be so stumped as to how to put that together in 48 hours. But you got it: simple mechanics leading to complex emergent puzzles.
Really nicely put together, especially in terms of graphics and audio.
... and it is indeed infuriating!
Great atmosphere in the visuals and audio. It gives a real gravitas to the situation at hand--very tense.
I am the boss!
Fun idea, and nice parody!
Cool. There's a lot going on here, but I like the feel of it all (and the UI).
Neat!
Very cool. Fun to play and great overall aesthetic!
Great! Simple mechanics but rewarding gameplay. I like how you're not the one doing the shooting, but a kind of indirect agent.
Nice work!
Groovy! I love the 8-bit horror vibe. Super-impressive for a 48-hour game!
This is a neat little old-school Game Boy game!
Ah! It took me a while, but I got it. Those cracks in the walls are REALLY hard for me to see (admittedly my vision isn't the greatest).
Once I got rolling this was good puzzle-action fun.
Great. Nice overall aesthetic, and great music. Unfortunately I don't have any friends, so I had to play by myself.
Wow. Great work. The graphics are fantastic, and it's a genuinely fun romp.
Perhaps a little too harcore for me, but I don't think that's a problem.
I'm not sure that I figured it out. Running on a Mac, and I tried a bunch of different resolutions, and it seemed like some things were cut off on the sides. I did serve one salad though!
Nice work. (No problems running on Mac). Really nice and straightforward, and the upgrade system really makes it much more interesting.
Is this just the same as your LD35 entry, except with a web version?

Awesome! I could play this all day. It looks, sounds, and feels great!
Man, I love being a dancing gecko.
Fantastic work. Really fun and unique integration of the theme. It feels really nice, and the audio is perfect.
This is awesome, but way too hard for me after I start breaking down walls. I gave it a few runs, but perhaps a more gentle difficulty ramp (or an easy mode!) would be great for casual gamers like me.
Very cool! Also, very hard!
Really nice graphics. I love the style (even though I failed to defend the human race).
I love tower defense games, but I can't quite figure this one out. How do I place my towers. Perhaps it's because I'm trying to play the web version?
Awesome! Go Emily!
I love how "Bravery" is the measure of success, and failure comes from getting too scared. Well done.
Whoa. Brutal little game you have here. I'm playing the web version (no Windows machine available at the moment). The SFX make this feel so much more raw.
I did it. Great integration of the theme, and I've thankful for straightforward controls! I had to peek at your hints below in order to figure out the second puzzle, I have to admit.
Very cool, but when it started blinking it gave me a bit of a headache so I had to stop. Great job increasing the difficulty gradually, though!
Great graphics and feel.
I found the key... where's the door!? I wish I could carry the key and a gun at the same time.
Page not found!
Very cute. I love the various headlines that you can create.
Very cool (and original) take on the theme. And cute graphics and mechanics.
I had a glitch on getting my final couch in (it disappeared from view, then some invisible item refused to be put in the bunk).
Neat, but way too hard for me. I'm not sure I understood what "feeding the room" did, but I think that's a really interesting mechanic.
Ha! Nice! Another twin-stick shooter, but this time it makes beautiful impressionist art! Well done.
Really cool integration of the theme.
This looks great! I don't have Windows, though, so keep us posted when the web version is ready!
Sweet! Simple mechanics, and very challenging.
The old-man-crushing sound is rather disturbing.
Beautiful atmospheric idea. I think I blew it and pressed 5 before I had the correct stuff, though, which is a bummer.

I love this idea, and the execution of it. It's a little more grindy than DS, but great feel and really impressive work for 72 hours!
Hmmm. Interesting idea, but I'm not sure I'm clear on objectives and how to achieve them... At some point I died, but I guess I'm already a ghost.
I'm not sure the nudity serves any real purpose here.
Wow. So this is I think the third Roomba game that I've played in this jam, but by far my favorite!
It's got a Katamari vibe, where there's just this boxing match happening, and it has nothing to do with your goals in the game. It's just something that happens to be going on.
I love it.
Your game gave me a sad. Just replace "pixel artist" with "musician," "photographer," or any other creative career.
Great graphics and fun feel, though.
Neat. I wasn't able complete any of the scenarios, but I love that you were able to create three separate game mechanics!
It took me a few minutes to figure this out, but very nicely done. The simultaneous aspect is really what makes it.
I also really like the abrupt start and stop to the music during the short action sequences.
Nice little arena fighter here! I think your difficulty curve is really nicely set, but after 6 waves I was quickly overrun.
I had fun up until then!
Fun! I really like the great animations (old school) and straightforward mechanics.
I would definitely play an expanded version of this.
Cool. A nicely put together, moody piece!
I got a little tired of the "not now." Especially as I was trying to figure out what the rules of the world were, but once we got swinging it was great.
Cool! I love turn-based strategy games. I feel like I'm playing pixel-art X-Com.
Love the music and art style too.
Looks like a great idea!
This is a fantastic idea, but I feel a little overwhelmed. Since I don't know what combat is going to be like, it's hard for me to spend all this time outfitting robots and setting up behaviors.
Perhaps you could start with one robot, and a really limited set of behaviors?
I really like this kind of algorithmic combat (like FFXII), and with a bit of polish this could be dope.
Very cool. I love the graphics and the little detail of people walking in front of the tank. It keeps reminding you that you're a fish in a tank.
Neat entry.
Very disturbing. It reminds me of the old NES game thriller.
I really like the design of those giant flies.
Nice idea. I like the exponential ramp up of walls.
Minesweeper! Great!
The 3Dness of this makes it a little hard to know where to click. I got a bit nervous when doing my DoS attacks.
Cute and clever. Really nice, simple mechanics and really fun gameplay with nicely designed puzzles.
Super slick with really nice detail (and thematic unity). Everything works so well in the world of the game.
I did a couple runs and couldn't get to the end. I'm really bad at top-down jumping (had issues with it in the Game Boy Zelda too).
Very cool! It took me a moment to figure out what to do ("Why can't I get there?"), but I think you did a great job slowly ramping things up and "teaching" the game mechanics.
Ha! Ok. I have to admit it took me a moment to figure it out (which I like, rather than being bashed over the head with the reference). It's a little hard for me, especially with the lighting. I had to crank up my brightness, and even then I had to strain a bit (that said, I'm old).
Nice. Cool cyberpunk aesthetic, and pretty fun and satisfying to slash my sword around (and great animations too, by the way).
I died...
Oh well.
Nice work!
Whoa. I'm not sure what just happened, but I won. Awesome frenetic action.
Anything with a little Mozart as a backdrop will catch my fancy, though.
Sweet! Tower defense! It looks and sounds great too. Nice job.
I love a good Pico-8 mini-game. Nice graphics and great feel.
Hi all.
Thanks for the great comments!
If you want to download the music, <a href="https://soundcloud.com/simon-j-hutchinson/neon-no-nakama">I've got it posted here</a>.
Thanks Jupiter!
This looks great! I want to play it! You should make a web or Mac build when you get a chance!
Interesting. I need to try shooting heart bullets sometime. I really like the hand-drawn style, as it's something that really intimidates me.
Awesome (yet disgusting) use of sound in a really fun game. I'm not generally a twin-stick shooter kind of guy, but I definitely could get into this one.
This is a CRAZY ambitious game project. Kudos to you for going for it!
I love the graphics and the atmosphere of it all. I couldn't get to excited about the feel of combat, but, if you refine that post jam, I think you've really got something great here!
I love this!
This, to me, is the kind of creativity that make Ludum Dare so fun.
I'm running on WebGL, can this actually save a screenshot to disk in the standalone?
Keep up the good work.
Great concept.
When I was first brainstorming for the compo, I wanted to have something similar to this with the tiny world, but I realized that I had no idea how to do it! Nice work.
Nice. I would just stay in my room if I were that little girl.
Overall great feel. I like the kind of incongruence between the voxel graphics and the live voiceacting.
Totally sweet visuals. I love the character and the neon, Tron-like world.
I don't do a lot of area fighters, so I might not be the best to comment, but the controls feel a bit bumpy, and I wish I had multiple attack (like a Dark Souls kind of thing--hard vs. soft, moving vs. still).
Keep these visuals and refine the gameplay and I think you've really got something here!
"Ahhh," I say to myself, "Time for some pity political satire."
But then I fire it up and I'm YUGE! I'm so yuge I'm crashing into buildings, and they're crumbling at my my giant... feet? head?
This game is a trip.
Wow, there's so much nuance in the visuals of this game, and I love the mythical nature of riding on the back of a giant lumbering beast. It could have all taken place on the ground, but instead the whole thing is elevated (no pun intended) to a kind of "Shadow of the Colossus" type world.
Really nice.
Oh dear those poor people. I am NOT good at being a careful giant (good to note for future reference).
Anyway, congratulations on a really fun and original game!
Absolutely terrifying. I think this is definitely a new genre that needs to be explored more.
I had a bit of trouble knowing what the heck I was expected to do (but perhaps that's in the nature of these Warioware-style games). Great idea, and overall aesthetic, and genuinely creepy!
That poor duck... fame isn't everything.
Very cool little game! Nice flow and easy-to-understand mechanics make it really fun.
Nice. It's impressive that you created a multi-room space (and all of this BGM) for the compo. Great work.
I'm going to echo a bit of the frustration about the controls that the people above did, but it's not a huge problem. I guess the thing is, for short games like a lot of Ludum Dare entries (mine included), the less we have to "learn" the controls the better.
Keep up the good work!
Nice! Simple rules leading to sophisticated emergent gameplay (with multiple solutions at that)!
Really well done.
Very cool. I really like the overall atmosphere. I wish there were some kind of hint (or rhyme and reason) to the exits to each tile, but I guess not having them is kind of the point!
Definitely worth expanding out into a larger game!
Very cool and ambitious concept. I had to switch over to the regular font, just because I was driving myself a bit crazy.
It's really challenging, and I think that stems from the originality--no one needs a tutorial for a twin-stick shooter. Nice work.
Ugg. So much wasteland.
Screen Shot 2017-05-02 at 10.52.22 PM.png
Great game though, perfectly sized for a compo entry, and really fun!
Wow. This is really tremendous work for 72 hours. I love the feathers particle effect (maybe not a particle effect?), and the overall vibe of the experience.
I'm going to echo the comments about the controls, but I think if you were to expand the game, then I wouldn't mind the time that it takes to learn them.
Really nice work!
Very cool! You're making me want to get back to pico-8. Great graphics, sound, and gameplay.
This game is surprisingly balanced for having just 48 hours, and never gets "grindy." Nice work.
[Why are both the comments on this from "Simon"s]
Hey. I can't seem to get the game to open. I'm on a Mac, and I've opened other .jar files in the jam no problem. Any ideas?
Cool. Nice graphics, audio, and overall balance.
I have to admit that this kind of game isn't really my bag. I found myself turning on MST3K on Netflix to kill the time as I was waiting for the pixlets to do their work. For players like me, maybe a "speed up time" option?
Looks great! If you make a web or mac version, tag me in a post, I'd love to check it out!
Wow, sound like Super Metroid music!
Nice job in the overall retro-3D vibe too, I like it. It's hard to figure out the radar in three dimensions, though!
Really nice work!
Very cool! I like how it's a bit of stealth rhythm game too. Really original, great audio, and fun experience overall.
Looks like fun. Let me know if you make a web or Mac version, and I'd love to try it out!
I. LOVE. THIS. I really do. Really simple rules, that lead to complex gameplay, the ideal that we all strive for.
I also love your attention to things like teaching how the game works via the game itself, and the transitions between levels. Really nice work.
Yes. Awesome. I like this a lot! The controls took a little getting used to, but, ultimately, they're completely integral to the gameplay, so I wouldn't change them.
If you wanted to expand on this, I would totally play a series of short vignettes of fairy-tale games like this one!
AHHHH! The random piano music is driving me to the brink of madness!
In all seriousness, though, great game. I like the control, and the sound effects are perfect. Nice work!
I LOVE this, but I feel like I ran out of things to do. Am I supposed to be able to interact with the balls?
I really like that you did procedural music for this game. Now I think that's going to be my goal for the next LD. I've used PD for that in a couple of my other games, but I haven't had the guts to go for it in 48 hours..... You've raised the bar, so game on.
Very cool.... but of course anything that uses that day-of-the-tentacle-style lucasarts font is OK by me.
Really, though, very fun and original idea, with neat controls.
Thanks for taking the time, Jupiter!
Have you played *Sinistar*? That's where I stole the idea for the creepy voice!
Thanks again for playing! Good luck with the rest of the LD entries.
@lars-dk. Yes! Audio and camera scrolling are both much better in the downloaded version! Check it out.
@camilo Now THAT is a big planet...
@M-1 @king-kujito @camilo @anarbitrarymustache ...ok I guess I have to play this agar.io game everyone keeps mentioning!
@Quoclon - sometimes you have to click in the game window. Give it a try, and let me know. You're the first to report any issues like that.
Hey, @davidthelazar, sorry to hear that! But the screens only move as fast as you do, and I'll tell you a secret: moving fast is NOT the best way to find new planets! Give it a shot!
(Oh, and if you're playing the web version, the downloaded version improved on the scrolling too).
Just a quick message to say THANK YOU to everyone to your comments! It's been overwhelming today!
If you've commented, I've bookmarked your game, and I'm going to to check out and comment on all of your games (with the caveat that if your game is Windows only, I won't be able to :frowning: ). I've currently got a list of about 20 or so, and I want to make sure I give them all a proper chance, so please bear with me!
@veralos, great! I'll check it out in a bit!
Nice! A twin-stick shooter with some personality. This comes together to be an altogether really fun experience!
Wow awesome! This is super-original and pretty fun.
I wish the pace were a little slower. I don't feel like I have time to both read the cards and watch the impact of my choices on the world above... I also seemed to keep getting the same few cards over and over.
Definitely expand on this. It would make a great mobile game!
Cool. I think there's a lot to the mixed 2D/3D style, and I'm always really impressed by the entries that manage to create a real narrative over the course of the weekend.
Keep up the good work.
Neat! Mac version worked on my machine.
It's funny, I found your game after you commented on mine, and it seems we had a similar idea! I think the interactions in your game are more sophisticated go (especially in terms of the AI).
Great job with the music and sound too.
Neat idea! It was initially a little deceptive for me, as I thought I was just getting into some tetris action, but this actually a nicely thought out puzzler (again, always blown away that people can think up puzzle games in a weekend).
Great work!
Wow. Very cool.
I'm always blown away by the entries that can create a balanced strategy game over the course of a weekend.
Very cool. I wish it were easier to see what each individual building costs!
Nice! I like how it all ramps up, so I have a chance to get the hang of things.
Really great combination of graphics, gameplay, and audio.
Neat. I LOVE the camerawork in the opening. So much so that I was a little disappointed when it went into first-person mode.
I got a bit bored following the team (I figured out I didn't have to a little late).
Keep up the great work with the camera!
Nice original idea. I wanted to hammer more things!
I love all of the hand-drawn animations. Nice work for 72 hours!
Hey! Trying to play on a Mac, and getting the error that it "can't be opened."
I don't think Mac unity files like RAR. I had a similar problem with someone else's entry, and it worked fine after he zipped it.
Screen Shot 2017-05-01 at 7.49.45 PM.png
Looks like a lot of fun! If you can, make a web or Mac build, and I'd love to check it out!
Whoa. Very cool. Great concept and feel overall.
This is crazy impressive for just 72 hours! It's a nice original idea, well executed. Did you do the music too?
Arg! I wrote you a comment, and it doesn't seem to have gone through!
Anyway, it was something to the extent of the violent explosions into red mist were a big surprised based on the cutesy pixel graphics! I'm not sure if that's good or bad, buy it was certainly memorable!
Cool.
A very fun little game. I'm not a big bullet-hell kind of guy, so "Planet X" was a bit too much for me, but since I didn't lose my progress on death, I eventually made it.
Very nice work.
Awesome! I love the stamina meter. It's like the Dark Souls of party games.
I am the worst god ever.
It's probably for the best.
Neat game, the controls are a bit rough for me (but I'm on a trackpad). I like the "Surgeon Simulator" idea applied to the cosmic scale!
Nice! I love Pico-8, and this is really nicely done.
I'm not sure if there's an ending. I purified a bunch of the planet, and I didn't feel like I had discovered much new, but, that said, I played for about 20 minutes, so it certainly was compelling!
HA!
Sorry it took me a bit to get to your game, but this is TOTALLY a far more sophisticated version of the same idea I had. Really nice work. This is fantastic--far more along the Katamari vibe than I managed to accomplish.
Keep up the good work!
Looks like fun. I wish I had an XBox controller!
Sorry you didn't get a chance to finish! Looking forward to playing your game next time!
Cool! I like it. Great idea and progression, and I love the ship controls (that you need to be moving to steer too).
It feels like it needs on more "thing." I'm not sure what that thing is, but, at the currently length it starts to get a bit dull after the first couple of planets. If there were an enemy or some other challenge involved this would be perfect.
Oh, and love the graphics too!
I am forgiven!
This is great fun, but pretty stressful. I like the replay-ability from the randomization. Great, original idea.
Great atmosphere. On a Mac, the game seems to crash on the GameOver.
Cool. I love the sound design (less so the controls, but they're growing on me). Overall, though, really original idea.
As a dad/composer myself, I second the props to your dad on the OST! Dads represent!
Wow. This is really great. A relatively simple (but original) idea, but the gameplay FEELS really nice, making it really fun to play (supported by the graphics of course).
Neat! I love all of the particle effects and different animal animations.
Despite the fact that you say you didn't do your own 3D models, the overall aesthetic seems to come together in a really nice way. The gun sound seems a bit over the top to me, but perhaps that intentional (and perhaps we'd hear that differently with background music).
Keep up the good work!
I win!
This was great. Why are games like this so oddly compelling (maybe I should have been a farmer).
Plus, PANDAS and KOALAS together at last!
Nice. I grew a cheese tree, but I couldn't seem to eat any of the cheese!?
I like the overall feel though, and the sound design! Nice work in Scratch!
Really tremendous work for 72 hours. There's a whole lot of depth here.
I really like the in-game graphics too, and the soundtrack is appropriately epic!
Cool idea. I like the retro CRT screen too (maybe the fish-eye is a little too extreme on the help page though!).
I feel like I'm doing Ludum Dare all over again as I play...
Super-groovy!
I didn't realize it was a rhythm game at first, but once I did, it really cam together. Great music and fun gameplay!
I love that the game only contains one sprite. It just goes to show you, graphics don't need to be sophisticated for a game to be fun.
Cute entry. The controls are a challenge, but I love the overall package and aesthetic!
With all due respect. My comedic timing is FLAWLESS.
That said, I love the "hitting someone with a fish" animation. Really nicely done. I agree with the comment above: it needs some music or SFX!
Keep up the good work.
Awesome! This is the first turn-based strategy game that I've come across this time. Nice! I love these, this is like a very small-scale X-Com... not galactic in scope, just the bathtub.
I'm going to echo the comments above about the controls, though. Maybe this and a quick UI cleanup would be nice post-jam polishes!
Nice! Very cool vibe, and really interesting, original gameplay.
I'm not a huge fan of isometric jumping myself, but I slogged through that part, but the rest was fun!
Really nicely done I love the voxel graphics with more polished lighting. It's a great aesthetic, and the music seems to really reinforce this atmosphere.
I'm not in love with the controls. It seemed a bit clumsy to have the mouse for everything since you needed some fast paced action. Maybe a version with keyboard controls for the clods like me?
Is it a visual novel, or a "Zombies Ate My Neighbors" homage? Either way. Really interesting, and great work for 72 hours.
It's super-cool that your team all met online to make this happen!
Cool!
This reminds me of the old days and "SimAnt." It kind of felt a bit like a guessing game (which way is the food?), but I love the little algorithm-driven critters (like real ants!).
Awesome! I love the overall product here; sound, color, and gameplay are all working together to create a unified experience.
For a game like this, I would really like button that saves a JPG to my disk so I can set a wallpaper... or better yet (more "Zen" if we can use that as an adjective) would be to record the whole game experience as a video that one could play back to re-experience the process.
Anyway, really nice work.
Wow, this is a crazy-complex puzzle game to have put together in 48 hours! Nice work!
If this were a more traditional game, I'm not sure if ALL animals would be introduced in the tutorial. Maybe just the first four animals, then a few levels with just those four. The the next two and a few more levels, etc. It feels kind of a lot to have all those animals introduced without giving me a chance to really learn them!
That said, I WANT to learn them! Great work!
Nice idea! I wish you the best in getting further next time!
Cool!
Great idea. I feel like I'm back in an old Looney Tunes (or was it Tom and Jerry) cartoon. This would definitely be a fun concept to expand on.
What the what?! I wasn't expecting much when I loaded this up but this is fantastic (not to mention HUGE for 72 hours). Really nice work. The jump was a bit floaty, but that's my only real complaint.
Oh, was this supposed to happen?
Screen Shot 2017-05-02 at 10.58.58 PM.png
Ha! I love it!
It's funny, while mechanically and aesthetically different than my game, there are definitely parallels going on. It's just fun to grow things...
...Especially cookies.
Super cool!
This is a really nicely put together game--original, colorful, interesting, and fun. It's smart how the pressure builds naturally as a mechanic of the gameplay.
Whoa... super-groovy.
I love the voxel graphics and the overall feel of the game. I love the feel of the controls and the screen shake too (I've got to start doing that myself more often).
As a sound guy, I've got to say the fact that the loop didn't quite loop properly drove me a bit crazy (definitely a quick fix once you're ready to do revisions).
Great work overall. Super-fun!
Nice!
Great sound design and concept overall.
I totally get your controls--the challenges is part of the gameplay. In my LD37 entry, though, I got a lot of the same feedback as above about the clunkiness. You'll have to figure out on your own what direction you want to go in the future, but sometimes in life, we don't have great control... so why shouldn't that be the case in our games too?
Neat! I like the 2.5D here, though I must admit I was a little confused at the start of level 2.
Great BGM! What did you use for it? It sounds pretty chippy, is that the BeepBox.co? I'll have to check it out.
Oh, and I love all the giants too.
I win!
I think I need to play against a human opponent, but this is great work for 48 hours! It's really great to see a strategy game in the mix. The challenge of doing a game like this must be balancing!
Keep up the good work.
Very cool! I like how it's like a hybrid tower-defense/action game.
I couldn't always figure out how to dummy the AI out of hiding. I wish there were a more straightforward way to "git gud."
Cool!
I like the fact that you're simultaneously navigating two layers at the same time.
What made you go with Santa? Nothing against, Santa, of course, but it's almost June!
Yes.
Really nice work. I love the music and the complexity of the game stemming from simple rules. Good choice of aesthetics, graphics, sound, etc. too. I think it all comes together in a really impressive way.
Excellent little story and great atmosphere!
If you're looking to do post-jam improvements, consider getting someone to check out the text in the English version, and consider turning down the doppler effect on some of your sound effects.
Great little interactive experience!
Neat atmosphere! I love the lo-fi graphics and feel of everything; it's all very original.
I have one comment: for a game about exploration and interaction, I'm not sure you need things that damage you. For example, I wanted to explore back and forth, but kept getting hit by the cactus (unavoidable, right?). I wanted to explore, but I was getting punished for it.
I want to play this! Let me know if you make a web or Mac version!
I wish I could play this! Let me know if you make a web or Mac build.
Nice little game!
I like the overall aesthetic, and I like the music, but the loop is so short I though I was going to go insane by the halfway point (problem solved after muting).
Very cute!
This looks amazing! I'm trying to run it on a Mac and I'm getting the error that it "can't be opened." Any thoughts?
Screen Shot 2017-04-30 at 12.21.09 PM.png
It works! Thanks!
Wow this is crazy. I get a bit motion sick, I have to admit, but this is really amazing work for a compo entry. I love the attention to detail in the 3D models and textures.
Neat game! Great work getting this all put together over the course of the weekend. It's pretty fun, but I feel like there's a lot of waiting around. Perhaps a speed-up-time option?
Super-groovy!
I love everything about this, from the graphics down to the feel. Actually, now that I think about it, more than anything this just FEELS really great--when I mess up, it's my fault never an issue of clumsy controls. How'd you do that?!
Really nice work.
Nice job! I love the mystery.
I wonder, often, about the threshold between being mysterious and inscrutable, and what our responsibilities are to be "accessible." That said, you seem to have made a number of people above very happy to have solved the puzzle, so how can you fault that!
Keep up the good work.
Ha! We did indeed have very similar games! It's funny how such a broad topic can lead to such close ideas. I love it.
Anyway nice work with the motion and variety of space objects (not something I was terribly successful with)!
@Epicsoft, you couldn't find any bugs?
Ok, that's a terrible joke, but this game is great. The life of an ant seems awesome if you get to listen to that music all day (except for the bully's of course).
The movement feels a bit slow at the beginning when I'm still exploring and don't know where anything is, but perhaps that's part of the point--feeling like a rookie who's still learning the ropes.
Nice! I love these physics-based action-puzzlers.
I wonder if the first level is too hard. I kind of wish I had a practice level to get my bearings a bit. Also, some kind of visual to show me how long my tractor beam should reach.
Definitely something to expand on!
Hey. Trying to run the HTML version on Gamejolt (no Windows machine available), and it seems to be freaking out. It immediately tells me "Fail" then "Well done", then the sprites just kind of go berserk. Anyone having similar issues?
Wow. I think it's crazy that you were able to put together a puzzle game in 48 hours. This is great. It's super hard for me (maybe my brain is a little too addled at this point of the evening), but I have a lot of fun with this.
Definitely worth expanding in the future!
Extremely cool idea and overall aesthetic.
It took me a moment to figure out that I was moving, but I got it. I'll echo the comments above about the STEEP difficulty curve, but I think some people will really like that (I'm more of a casual gamer myself).
Great interpretation of the theme!
Cool idea, I like the idea of a constantly dropping platform level.
That said, this is a bit challenging for me (I'm not much of a platformer myself), and I kept finding myself stuck, and unwillingly riding a whale all the way back to the bottom...
Very cool. This is a great little game, and I love that you've been able to integrate a larger message into the game without being heavy-handed about it.
Neat little game! This is the first racer (kinda) that I've come across in this Ludum Dare! I agree with @kroute, above, that the car could definitely go a lot faster (maybe speeding up if you didn't hit anything for a while), but overall great first entry!
Ha! Very cool (in an existentially disturbing kind of way).
Really amazing work with the graphics for 72 hours. I'm going to echo the comment above that I would have loved some BGM too. I think that could have really pushed home the grimly comedic message (well, at least that was MY takeaway).
Keep up the good work!
Wow. Really nice work. This is a super-smart, fun game.
I love the quirky, old-school style of everything having a facial expression (and the looks of horror before a planet impact).
Cool!
I love the post-processing effects you have going on here. It makes me feel like I'm actually looking into a microscope.
Very cool idea! I love the art style and the atmospheric vibe, all of which contribute to the overall originality.
I'm not totally in love with the controls, I must say. I wonder if this kind of things might be better done with the keyboard.
Keep up the good work!
Very cool concept! I had the same kind of idea for my game, but this one is much better executed as a core mechanic.
Great colors and visuals too. The loop gets a bit repetitive after I've been playing for a while, but that's really a niggling detail.
Keep up the good work!
Ha! I can't believe I played that to the end, but it was super-compelling. Really nice work.
I love the sound design. It somehow fits in throwing around a ragdoll ant.
Unfortunately I can't play this game because it's Windows-only, but it looks great!
I saw your post about synchronization. In my experience with doing rhythm games, I found it useful to actually sync to have a master audio track that I know the BPM for, and then do some math to actually sync to the samples of that track (e.g. 120bpm track at 48K would be 24K samples between beats). That way you never have to worry about getting off as long as everything is locked to the sample count of the master.
Awesome game! A couple thoughts:
-The difficulty spike at the rainbow dragon on the second stage is a bit too much. It took me three tries even using the bazooka cheat.
-The music is great, but I think you should have a warning about the amount of profanity in the lyrics.
Overall, though, great entry! Keep up the good work!
Interesting game! I'm not sure how to win (or if you can). I think I saw everything, though. In my browser I think the icons at the top of the game were cut off, which might be why I didn't understand things!
Really nice polished graphics and great idea!
This is deceptively sophisticated in both visuals and gameplay. I was really pleasantly surprised. I really like the world you set up here, and your screenshots don't do justice to your visuals! Perhaps it's because a lot of the polish here is in the movement. Really nice compo entry!
I came. I saw. I clicked on things... and I had a good time!
EDIT: Some commas would be nice, though, to help see the thousands and millions!
Super nice work for 72 hours, really impressive.
I needed a bit more of a tutorial. It wasn't immediately clear how things switched to me (though, admittedly I don't play this kind of game very much), but 2nd playthrough it made more sense.
I got a "Forbidden" when I tried to run the web version. Might have to do with my privacy settings conflicting with the site.
This looks like a lot of fun! Any chance for a Mac or web version?
Neat game. The most impressive part of this is that this is your own game engine, nice work! I didn't make it the first time (not knowing I needed keys the first time), and then made it rather easily the second, but I really liked the heart-pumping background music throughout!
Super-fun! This is a really clever, original, and fantastic work for 72 hours. I love the infinite possibilities in handing over the robot design to the player. Great polish with the sound and graphics too.
Excellent job all around.
Yo! Echoing @tim-eriksen above, it crashes for me on Mac everytime the first lightning bolt hits.
Really nice work. It always impresses me that people are able to make puzzle games in 48 hours, coming up with both concept and the puzzles themselves.
Wow. Very nice. Solid compo entry for 48 hours! You got music, sound, lighting effects, and nice graphics all done! I really like the design of the robot too. Great work.
Neat! Great little game for 48 hours. I like the sophistication of the energy and power ups (though it took me a little time to work out the difference). Nice work!
Not sure I get it here. I tried once with the white spell (and promptly expired), then I chose another spell and it didn't seem to fire.
Very cool! This is great. A whole lot of fun and a really original idea. I agree with those above commenting on the trickiness of the isometric controls. I'm not sure if there's a better way to do it though. Really nice work!
Great polish on this game. The controls are tough for me (as I'm not a terribly hardcore guy), but I definitely appreciate the work put into the details of both the graphics and sound. Nice work!
This looks really fun! Any chance for a Mac or web build?
Not sure if this is running. I just get a black screen on itch.io.
I got it working (likely some privacy settings, I tried on a different machine). Nice work. I'm interested in the expressive possibilities of Twine, but I'm never sure what to do when faced with the vast possibilities of text. Great little adventure.
Hey! This reminds me of my entry for LD38! ...and of course I mean that as a compliment! I'm not sure if I love or hate the graphics. At first it seems like they're clashing, but I actually think it might be right in line with your aesthetic goals, though. Great work for 48 hours!
Very cool. This game oozes with style and mood (though you seem to have opted out of that category!). There are lots of really great details here, and I like the addition of a power up system too. It helps keeps thing interesting.
Really nice work!
This is just fantastic--really excellent. The gameplay is really compelling and unique, and I think the graphics support everything really nicely.
It definitely needs some music or adaptive sound that pulses in time with the neurons charging (well, maybe it doesn't "definitely" need that, but that's what I'd do). If the whole game were musically pulsing that would be really intense and beautiful!
That is one groovy banana!
Nice! I like it. There's a lot of polish here for 72 hours. Really great job.
You should start to start giving some more feedback to get this game more attention!
Yay! That made me happy. I like how there's redemption here. I think that really elevates the game (of course that's my personal taste, perhaps).
Really nice work on a strong unified concept.
This is amazing for 48 hours. I can't even imagine figuring out all these mechanics and level design in that amount of time. Really impressive.
Also, great idea having the tutorial. I would have been COMPLETELY lost without it.
Nice. I like the music and the overall vibe (and the ducks). It took me a bit to figure out what I could click on (maybe some simple in-game instructions would be nice), but very nice entry!
Go Jetpack June! This is a great compo entry!
The controls are a touch frustrating. I feel like you should just be able to hold down for the jetpack (not re-tap), but I think that challenge was what you were going for anyway. Really nice work!
Yo! Just echoing the above comments about this crashing on Mac a couple clicks in. Let me know if you post a fix, because I'd love to play this!
Neat little game! I LOVE these graphics. The voxel fish look especially cool. I'm not super into score-attack, so the gameplay wasn't really my thing, but I think the overall package is pretty darn good. Nice work!
Great looking (and sounding) game!
Man, do I hate 3D platforming, though. It's not you, it's me.
I really wanted to play more to hear more of the voice. There's a lot of nice, compelling stuff in this game. Great work!
Nice. Cute and straightforward--I like it.
I think you do a great job of "teaching" how to play your game each level too. Really nice work for 72 hours.
Cool idea. This seems like a really fun and original idea, but I wasn't successful in deciphering the right combination to win. Maybe an "easy" tutorial runthrough that shows how to succeed before digging into this sophisticated interplay.
Great work for 48 hours!
Looks like fun! Any chance for a web or Mac version?
Nice! The wall collision is a bit too strict, perhaps, but this is a really clever game. I love the adaptive music and the graphics. Really nice work!
Very cool. It took me a couple times to figure out what I was supposed to do (though it's pretty clear if you read the walls). Really nice graphics for 48 hours!
I also love the "Come on ride the train" music loop...
Very cool. I like this kind of puzzle game, and the "running out of power" idea seems to fit well.
Hear-pumping little runner! I kind of like the minimalist graphics (and the camera zooms). Nice work!
Awesome COMPO entry. I love this game! It's a clever concept, really smartly put together, and fun to play. Great job with the graphics and sound too.
I am definitely not on board with the post-processing focus effect. It game a bit of a headache to be honest, but I applaud you for trying something new that fits with your game's overall aesthetic.
At first I was like, "What is this?" Then I was like "WHAT IS THIS!?"
Really nice work. I love this kind of thing. I'm not sure if I understand it, but I'm also not sure if that really matters. It doesn't feel "weird for the sake of weird." It feels like there's some direction to it.
Love the graphics and audio too. Really fantastic entry all round.
Ha! Very nice NES recreation (though you'd never be able to do that nice a rotation on the NES). I love how you completely embraced the 8 bit aesthetic. I don't think the world needs any more zombie games though (unless it's a tribute to the late George Romero). Maybe I'll just pretend that they're aliens.
Neat. I like it. I think it's a bit of a cheat that an oilcan is hazard, not a boon. I love the sound (it keeps me pumped) and the music loop too. Nice work!
Very cool. I used to play the heck out of the Mechwarrior games when I was a teenager, so this was wonderfully nostalgic (once I wrapped my head around turret vs. mech rotation again).
I wish the dialog was mixed a little louder. It seemed interesting, but I missed a lot of it in the heat of the battle. Also, the enemies were spawning in threes right next to me at the end, which felt a little unfair.
Besides these nitpicks, though, this is AMAZING work for 72 hours.
I win!
Fun game. Cool idea (and great implementation) with the procedural generation, and I really like the fact that we're all LEDs. As you mention, there are a number of.... undocumented features here. Some post-jam fixes might go a long way. Great entry!
HAHAHAHAH. I REALLY like these graphics (for some reason). There's something super-satisfying about the 3D backgrounds and the very lofi foreground action. The dissonance fits the mood over the game. Controls are a bit odd here, and I never really got the hang of shooting upwards, but really cute and fun overall. Nice work!
Any chance for a Mac or web build? I'd love to give this a try!
Cool! Great idea and deceptively complex graphics. I have to admit I didn't make it to the end (I don't think I have the concentration and patience to do so), but it's an it'd be a great exercise in mindfulness to do so!
@jupiter-hadley, I love listening to the delight in your commentary! Thanks as always for all you do for Ludum Dare!
@gnerkus Thanks! You can do up along with left or right, but I decided not to allow left and right at the same time (and, of course, allowing down at the same time as anything kind of defeats the game a bit). Thanks for playing!
Thanks @philstrahl! I love your reaction. Exactly what I had hoped for. I considered putting a version of the track up for download, but kind of the whole point is that you get to make your own track. Maybe I could add a feature to record your performance to disk for later listening.
@kr4ft3r Thanks! I'm glad to hear that someone appreciated my Spartan presentation. I figured the less I gave away the better the experience!
@gonutz I actually just hopped on another computer at school, hitting up a bunch of Windows games I wanted to catch up on. I'm not sure about the OSX stuff, but it stands to reason that your instructions might work. I might give that a try at some point when I have more time to figure things out! Good luck!
Blerg. I wrote you a long, detailed comment about how I liked the aesthetic, and I wanted a map and a slightly longer music loop, but the LDJAM page glitched when I submitted it.
Really nice work though. I'd love to see where it goes from here.
Very cool. Smart use of adaptive audio (and visuals!). I wish there were some kind of music that got overtaken by the static, but perhaps in the post-jam version. When I first saw this, I thought of @matt-fabius 's entry, since your main characters have some similarities!
Really nice graphics and polish. Great work!
Cool and clever idea. It's kind of a rougelike, but, of course, not.
It's not totally clear what the goals are at first, so I had to come back to this page. Perhaps a little more clarification in-game?
The art here is beautiful. I could look at this all day. I love the original concept too. I'm not sure how stoked I am about the trial and error of figuring out what makes a pill and syringe. Maybe some in-game hints to get you started? Overall, nice work, interesting entry!
Great work, but I see you opted out of the "Audio" category.
This looks great! Any chance for a Mac/web version?
Gosh. This is amazing. As someone who teaches synthesis, I want to use this in my classes. Super smart, and crazy good idea. Really mind-blowing for 48 hours. Congratulations!
Oh, and make a Mac version!
Looks like fun! Any chance of a Mac or web build?
This looks like a lot of fun! Any chance for a Mac or web build?
I LOVE this hand-drawn style. Not that I don't love pixel art, but this is kind of a refreshing change. I like the simplicity of the controls too, but it's exhausting! And my poor keyboard!
Overall, really nice work, especially for 48 hours. Great entry!
Neat little game here. There's a lot of depth here for 48 hours!
This was great! I'm a little dubious about Twine, but I've already played a few games this jam that are making me really appreciate what you can do in it like this one. It's like Zork with better controls!
Nice job.
Really stylish entry. I love the graphics and how they fit in with the gameplay. It's super-hard, though that seems like what you were going for. Great work.
Great game! This is a really clever use of the theme and really interesting. It's a bit hard to know when to use your phone and when to conserve, kind of necessitating multiple playthroughs. I love the overall style and how the graphics and sound work together with the loneliness of the story. Really nice entry.
Cool. Great vibe and overall aesthetic. Clearly lots of effort put into the sprites here. Nice work.
Nice work! I really like the aesthetic here. The silhouettes and minimal sound design work together really well.
Great game... just a bit buggy.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH.
Just kidding. Really nice work.
Man, this is awesome! I HATED these old Tiger electronic games... almost ruined me on games for life, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate a brilliant re-imagining of them. Really nice work!
pewpewpewpewpewpew!
Nice game! The hit detection seems a bit mixed at times, but it's good fun to traverse the universe sucking energy from everyone else.
Great job.... I used to live in Montana (not Power, though).
Really nice job with the ambience. Audio adds a lot to these Twine games and really bring them to the next level.
Very cool and clever game here. I really like the multiple streams balancing aspect.
It seems to be a bit old-fashioned in its conception of marriage. Perhaps it would be a little more contemporary to switch between the male and female between generations.
I mean... after all, I'm having kids when I'm 72 sometimes...
Nice job! This is an impressive package for a 48-hour entry! I was running on a mac and seemed to have a couple of bugs. I think if I'm pressing a key when I land the game gets locked somehow. Not sure if I'm diagnosing that properly or if that's just on my machine.
Anyway, cool graphics, smart mechanic and great job getting sound together too!
Cool game! I really wanted some old-school-type music here, but I really liked your SFX. The gameplay feels pretty nice, and I think this is definitely in line with the theme. Nice work for 72 hours!
Wow! Super-impressive work putting together 3 games in 72 hours! Great work. I like your take on the theme and these classic games too. Well done.
This is a really clever game. It was a bit tough to figure out, even following your instructions and keeping the help GUI up the whole time, but once I got rolling it was really interesting and well-thought out! Awesome entry for 48 hours!
Wow. This is an enormous game for just 48 hours. Nice work. I'm going to echo the comments above about the interface stuff, but really impressive job overall.
Cool! Cute idea, well executed!
Just a heads up: I had a problem where I went to the "about" page" and wasn't able to return to the menu.
Neat game. I like your take on the theme!
Neat! I'm a big Final Fight fan, so this is right up my alley. I'm not completely clear on how this fits in with the theme, but it's fun, and has a lot of great details in the polish. Great work!
You should rate some other people's games to get this game some more attention!
Neat! Great job with the music and sound too, which often get overlooked in the 48-hour compo submissions. It's impressive you were able to put together the audio and the graphics/gameplay over the course of the compo!
Neat! A nice little twin-stick shooter with sweet graphics (especially the particle effects).
Great work!
Nice! I found this game through Warp Door. Very cool. I love the clear polish in both the visuals and audio. It all really comes together in a beautiful but straightforward game world.
Really great work!
Cool! Nice little game with kind of sweet particle effects! Great job getting the whole package together in 48 hours.
Nice little twin-stick shooter. I love the electrical effects. You can see the time spent on them.
I gotta say. I'm sick of zombies though. Can I pretend that they're aliens?
Kudos for trying something new! I think it works really well!
Interesting! I have flashbacks to the Tick... SPOOOOOON! The world needs more late-capitalist games about spoons.
Really nice graphics and sound. Awesome feel on the overall aesthetic. I'm not sure I have the patience to navigate through those long, tight, green corridors with the loose controls, but I totally get how the controls are part of the aesthetic that you have going on here.
Anyway awesome compo entry. Great work!
Cool. I played this with my two-year-old son watching, and he loved the teddy bears.
Great work putting the music together in 48 hours for the compo. I agree with the comments above that it's a little repetitive, but making that AND a game in 48 hours is no small feat!
Cute! I like the music and sound a lot, it really sets the mood. Really nice job with the animations and effects on the staples too.
I never did get that cup of coffee...
Neat! I'm not a big flappy-bird fan, so maybe I'm not the target audience here. I do like that you took that as your base and altered it significantly, though. I feel like the music maybe should have been a bit more heart-pumping, but, for a compo entry, having music at all is huge! Nice work!
Awesome and grim! I love the dissonance between the music and visuals and the content of the game itself. Of course it's a little hard to crack the code of what the right balance is, but that's the point. Really nice work!
Really sleek game. Once I got the hand of it, it was pretty compelling and really fun. Great job with the graphics too. I think there's definitely room to expand on this too, if you're so inclined. I'd love to see what you do with it!
Cool! I like the South Park style graphics and the sound design. Nice work!
Really nice work here. I love how clean the audio is (I love grimy bit-junk too, but, boy, it's nice to have some things that aren't that too).
I'm also a big roguelike fan (in moderation) so this is right up my alley.
Really nice entry.
Wow. Fantastic entry. This looks beautiful and the gameplay is clever and fun. Really nice work.
Very cool. This is super slick for 72 hours! I love the graphics and character design (oversized upper bodies are the best. On top of that you've done a great job with sound and music, not to mention the fact that you've also got voice acting going on here!
Really nice work.
Neat idea. I'm not a huge fan of flappy bird, though, so I can't say that I made it to the end!
Nice take on the theme! I made a music (not-quite rhyhtm) game too. The controls here are clever--it's not just left right and up, you have to tap space too, which I think works really well.
Cool music and visual effects too!
Looks like fun! Any chance for a web/Mac build?
This is really neat. It's a bit inscrutable in some ways. It's not completely clear what you need to do to react to what, but I really like it (played it several times, never quite succeeding).
Wow. Really nice work for 72 hours. There's a whole lot of content here, and it looks really nice in terms of graphics.
This is a neat game. I really like the vibe of the music and the final cutscenes. I wish I could see my available resources without going to the main tower though. That would really help me with the flow. Great work for 72 hours!
Cool! Neat little mini-streets of rage or something. I like it. This is really impressive work for 72 hours with 16-bit style graphics and audio. Nice work!
Cool game. I like the in-game tutorial. Very clean.
A little detail in your platform graphics might go a long way. The robots and energy fire thingys seem a little out of place in the solid grey backgrounds.
That said, this is awesome work for the weekend. Keep it up!
Interesting resource management game! Glad to hear that you learned a lot in the process, and good luck with your continuing battle with Unity!
Great start. You've got a very cool vibe here.
I'd love to see the finished game!
Neat! Great, simple idea well executed. I'm not much of a score-attack kind of guy, so a couple of playthroughs and I was satisfied. Great job putting this all together (with music!) in 48 hours.
Neat. Brief, and too the point! A strong first entry. It'd be cool to see the idea expanded (new levels, etc.)
Cool! Nice entry. I love the music and how it sneaks in there and keeps your heart pumping. It's a little challenging, but I like the mechanics a lot, and I think this is fantastic work for 48 hours! Congratulations!
Ok. This is silly, but I think I like it.
The "lament" option reminds me of Ennuigi: https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=2232&pid=12311&autoplay=1#pp
Fun idea. And impressive work for 48 hours!
Not bad! I like the vaporwave music. The world needs more a e s t h e t i c s, especially the game world.
Arg! I got the artifact but didn't realize I had to get OUT too, so I was swarmed by all the enemies that were aggro. Great work for 48 hours. I love the music, the balance, and the play overall.
Looks like fun! Any chance of a Mac/web version so I can give it a try?
Nice! It's like Sonic the Hedgehog... but in the dark!
I have the same problem with this that I do with sonic, though, which is once I'm dashing, I need a bigger field of view so I can have some semblance of control. I want to run fast! But I also don't want to smash into slugs because I can't see them! That's a small complaint though (and more about me than anything else...).
Really nice work!
Neat idea. Better luck next time!
This is great. Awesome work for 72 hours! I really like the graphics and the overall vibe. I kind of feel like it might have been better with keyboard-only controls (i.e. no mouse), but that's a small nitpick. Nice work!
Beautiful chill-out game. I was relaxed but alert steering my little squirrel through loops and drafts. It reminds me of gliding in one of those Rocksteady Batman games. Really nice game!
Really nicely done. This is a really inspired idea executed really nicely. It does feel a little hard to figure out, but it's super fun to float around and encounter the beautiful sea creatures. Really nice work.
Neat game. I finished! This is a lot fun. The jump felt a bit floaty, both when in the air and when landing, but, I finished, so it can't be such a big deal. Keep up the good work!
Nice. Cool entry. I'm not the biggest twin-stick shooter aficionado, but like all of the little details here like the screen shake and audio. Great work for 48 hours!
Nice. I love tower-defense games. I've never made one myself... it seems like balancing would be really tough, especially in 48 hours!
I agree with the comments above that I want some kind of tutorial. Or at least a more shallow difficulty curve. Good luck with post-compo fine-tuning!
Cool! Especially the visuals. I like the low-res lighting effects and the mostly monochrome world. Really nice work.
Wow. Nice game. That last wave (I hope it was the last wave) was insane, though, I was not prepared.
Anyway, I play a lot of tower defense games, and I think this was a really unique take on it. Nice work.
Great start! I really like these graphics. I wish there were some other element--some X-factor--to motivate my click decisions in an interesting way.
Cool. A nice little clicker. Simple and fun.
Wow neat! Once I got rolling this was really nice: sophisticated, but straightforward. When I first loaded up the whole GUI was a bit intimidating, but it made sense pretty quickly.
I love the music. What is it? Some 804% time-stretched thing?
Hmmm. Playing the web version, nothing really happened... I walked around. The game told me to press F to mine and it didn't seem to work. No enemies ever showed up.
Neat game. I like the hybrid pixel/3D graphics. Really nice work for 48 hours. It makes me want to study Blender more.
Ha! Cool. Great sound design and straightforward concept.
I feel like the game needs one more "thing." Like something you can do when you have enough power/money, etc., but perhaps that's a revision for a later 48 hours!
Great game. The music is really fantastic. It's mindblowing that you got this all done and in such a nice, tight aesthetic in 48 hours. Super-strong entry.
Cool! Really impressive work (especially in terms of graphics) for 72 hours. This is a fun little game.
Coffee is life!
Cool (and HARD!). Nice work on a really original idea. It took me a second to get my bearings, though. Maybe "press any key to start" or something like that?
I really like the graphical style and the idea here. There's a lot going on, and I didn't feel like I ever got off to a good start. Perhaps some hints/tutorial to get your started? But kudos on taking on a unique concept and making me learn something in the process!
Very cool! Great idea. I love the random level generation. In my best run, I ended up kind of bouncing back and forth one one island for a little while, avoiding water.
Nice entry! I like the graphics and sound. Like a lot of the commenters above, I had a bit of trouble figuring out the teleport, but once I got rolling it was pretty straightforward. Good work!
Wow. Really nice graphics and gameplay. I love how the subtle contracting ring shows the remaining power. I think a lot of your other visual choices here (like camera zooms) really serve the gameplay and overall aesthetic. Great entry!
Cool! I really like the unique control scheme (which is basically like the whole game!). I kept spinning through space for a while, but when it all clicked it was really satisfying.
I was a bit dubious about this, but I found that I really liked it! ...and my two-year-old in the next room thought it was hilarious. Really great job engaging with nontraditional interface, and I love the overall mood of the game too.
I will say: I ended up taking a screenshot of possible commands, because I got so sick of saying help in the first area.
Yo! Ran the Mac version here, and it's buggy. Things in the GUI seem to be on top of each other, so I went back to play the WebGL version, and I think I got a better feel for things.
Very cool! I'm always impressed when people can put together a coherent strategy game in 48 hours!
Neat game. I love the cover art. I thought it was going to be some sort of existential cultist horror game looking at that image (actually that might have been a bit more up my alley). Keep up the good work!
There's only a Windows version here.
Any chance of a Mac or web version? I'd love to give it a try!
Really nice job. This is super-hard, but that doesn't take away from all the things you've got going on here. Any compo entry that actually includes sound is a big deal to me! Interesting, fun game for 48 hours!
Neat game! Great graphics and audio design. I'm going to echo some of the other comments above, though, that I'm not sure about the theme integration, which seems pretty important for Ludum Dare!
Really nice! This has to be the most original take on the theme that I've come across so far (and a positive ecological message to boot!). Great graphics and audio (especially the voice acting) and impressive gameplay for 72 hours.
Cool entry! Congratulations!
Fantastic, beautiful work. I love the art style and the animations. The music sets the mood too, but I wanted a little bit more from the sound overall (but, as we all know, not always possible in 72 hours). Really though, awesome work focusing on aesthetics.
This looks awesome. Any chance for a Mac or web build?
Mac version doesn't seem to work for me (on Sierra). It opens, but it doesn't load.
Interesting story! This reminded me a bit of the game by @Eliana that I played. So sad! Nice animation on the walking too. Great work.
Very cool. Awesome work for 72 hours. I LOVE the background (the sreenshots are actually what drew me to the game in the first place).
Nice twist on the resource management in being able to switch between characters too.
Nice entry. I love the graphics, and I'm stoked to see more and more compo entries that actually have some audio! I'm not a huge player of infinite runners as a genre, but this seems like a good one to me!
Can't seem to get the Mac version to open.
Screen Shot 2017-08-07 at 2.13.27 PM.png
At least the finder face is smiling.
Yay! Squares! (My game is about the adventures of squares too).
Nice entry. It took me a sec to figure out the real goal was not to just make it to the light switch, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly. Great first entry!
Cool! I did a rhythm-style game too, though I have no idea how to go full on DDR like yours. I actually disagree with @kingethaniel, above, because it seems like you can just keep tapping the arrows and the rhythm doesn't always matter.
Love the music!
Nice! I like it! This is really impressive procedural level design. I didn't realize that it hadn't been hand-done until afterwards, it feels really natural and balanced.
Great graphics sound and gameplay controls too. Really nice work overall!
Nice! A neat little puzzle-platformer with adorable blobby animations.
I'd love to see what comes next after the tutorial!
Neat! I like how the sound and music fit together with the graphics to create a kind of unified mood (and a happy one at that!). Nice work!
I love this. I must say, though, the eyeball exploding when it hits the spikes is one of the most grisly things ever. Anyway, great combination of simple mechanics into a more complex emergent game (and I'm crazy about that background)!
This looks awesome! Any chance for a Mac or web build?
Nice. Great use of the music. It reminds me of this:
lhlsydflv1ry.jpg
MV5BMTI1NTEzNDIwMF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwOTQ2MzI5MQ@@._V1_.jpg
Whoa. I like this a lot visually! Not sure if I love the "trolling" messages in the dungeon or the extreme zoom in when not moving (solved by rapidly tapping back and forth), but this is fantastic, original work for 72 hours.
Great original idea. I like the progression and the world that you set up. I also really liked the sound, is there a reason you opted out for "Audio"?
I am staring directly into the void.
This is a neat game. I love the vaporwave graphics and the controls. It's a little opaque how to best split your resources. Maybe if the shield stayed up a little longer after you pull the plug? I know I'm trying to allocate resources well, but I don't feel like I have enough guidance how to do so.
Any chance of a Mac or web build? I'd love to give it a try!
Awesome. Best game I've played so far. A bit frustrating, but I think that's just part of the game, and it's made up for in all of the attention to detail. Great work for 72 hours!
Neat! I played through a few times, and got some different endings. I wish there were a little more interactivity, but you have great groundwork here for a really neat adventure.
Neat! I love Pico-8. Great work on this--really original and fun. It took me a moment to figure out it worked when you released the button, but once I got it I fried a lot of people. Fun entry!
Cool. Great start!
Very cool. I've been pondering impermanence myself lately (perhaps the inspiration my own LDJam nogame this time, but in a more abstract way). I'll have to come back and check again tomorrow to see who has passed away (glad I played on Day 1).
I love the overall experience and how the little factors like the art style and music contribute.
Really well written. You gave me a colossal sad. This is one of the several really impressive text-based games that I've seen this jam. I'm definitely rethinking the possibilities of the medium. Great work!
Nice. The controls are a bit challenging, but any procedurally generated jam game is AOK by me!
Wonderfully terrifying. It dawned on me halfway through that my infant son was in a bouncer next to me as I played this game.
I need some coffee.
Wow. This is solid. I really like the spinning attack, even though I don't like splitting between the keyboard and mouse. There are a lot of great details in here too.
Nice work.
Yay! A new Sea Dads game!
This fantastic. You guys succeeded in what I was trying to do: take a simple game and cram it so full of style and charm that you make something special. Without being too self-deprecating, I missed the mark a bit this time, but you guys hit it with the writing, voice-acting and level and character designs.
Bravo.
Very cool! I ended up just running past the pigs in the later levels (perhaps their surprise reaction time should be shaved down a hair).
But seriously, how do you have such consistently good compo entries (with great sound and music, no less)?
Whoa. Nice work. This looks really nice and, overall, the control feels really good (though I echo a bit of the comment about the camera motion above). Having done a little Pico-8 myself, I know this is no small feat.
Awesome integration of the theme. When I started I was worried that it was going to be a relatively obvious more-money-makes-you-heavier thing, but when I figured out what was going on I was really impressed by the originality.
All you need is some fat Pico-8 music!
Nice! I had trouble getting this to run on Firefox, but I opened it with Safari and it was AOK.
Cool game, I like the forgivingness of the hint system. It doesn't make me feel too stupid when I can't figure things out.
Very cool. I was immediately taken back to my days playing Final Fantasy Legend. Nice work. A few more obstacles, etc., and this will be a great adventure!
@sozey, Thanks! But no audio rating? Put on some headphones and check it out!
@jupiter-hadley, Thanks! Looking forward to all your coverage of the event!
@local-minimum, Thanks for playing! I think you're absolutely right. I regret my key placement, and the game's balance is a mess. I'm working on my post mortem now, but, basically, I never really landed on a clear idea of what the player's goal is (score attack? Get all particles?), and that led to the difficulty not really serving any goal at all.
I love your game! I was hoping to end up with something more surreal / abstract (like my entry last time), but it just didn't come together this time. Which means I'll just have to try again in a few months!
Nice great job with the lighting. I think that's what really makes the experience. You should add some background music and have the stars pulse along or something like that.
Great compo entry.
Wow, awesome job with the graphics, audio, and overall aesthetic here. This is some really impressive Pico-8 work. The challenges is a bit much for me, figuring out what's collidable etc., but I think that's intrinsic to your game, so I'm not sure there's anything you'd want to change.
Keep up the good work!
Nice. I like the aesthetics here (needs sounds!), and I love the art on the mutants. It sure ramps up fast!
Nice! Very cool idea and nice execution. This is super-original and the visuals aesthetics are off the chart.
Depending on where you want to go with it, this could be an amazing relaxing game if you slowed down the pace a bit and changed the music to something a bit more "Zen" (hit me up if you want some original music for this post-jam!).
Really nice work.
Ha! I like it. It took me a moment to work it out, but, really, your game teaches the mechanics quite well. You always do a great job with the audio.
Who knew furries were a clique.
Very cool. It's tough, especially with the configurations of the keys not being consisent, but I like the vibe (and, of course, penguins).
Oh man, it's a cyberpunk Crazy Taxi! Very nicely done. I love the music and sound design too. Awesome entry.
Very cool. I really like the concept (and it's amazing how a touch of graphics can go such a long way in interactive fiction). This is definitely worth finishing.
It needs some sounds!
I like it. Great concept. I'm not sure I entirely understand how to judge people, so it's probably for the best that that's not my job.
Good choice of bgm too.
Thanks for your comment on my game. First, no less!
I played your game! I clicked crates! It took a while for the difficulty to really ramp up. Maybe if you miss like 3 crates (not 50) you lose. That would give me a bit more of a sense of urgency.
Excellent first entry!
Downloaded the Mac version, but was told it's been damaged and moved to the trash.

No game link?
Wow. This is a really interesting and moody game. It feels like a kind of micro-Terraria in some ways, I think that's in part due to the music. It's really impressive that this is all procedurally generated too.
Really nice work.
I really want to play this! Any chance for a Mac or web build?
Oh man, I need to dust off my old Dreamcast and burn a disc. Awesome work.
I like absurd/surrealist feel of this, but I'm not in love with the memory-game aspect of it. Perhaps some sound and audio would help with my immersion?
Looks cool! Any chance for a web or mac version?
I WANT TO PLAY THIS...
... Mac version doesn't seem to work. I get past the load screen, but them I'm stuck here:

No amount of clicking seems to do anything.
Ok. Got the ads going. Is there supposed to be a video behind them?
Very cool. This is a sophisticated little game, mashing up a bunch of different existing tropes into a new, orignal whole.
It needs music!
Cool idea, and nice execution. I abstract ideas that draw in interaction via our curiousity. I wonder if a little more development of the audio (like a kind of radio tuning), might be more effective, but perhaps that goes against the point of the game.
Keep up the good work!
Neat! Not at all what I expected from the description, but much funnier. Great job with the art, especially in such a short timeframe.
It needs some music!
Neat! I love the voxel graphics. You need a "retry" button, since it took me a few runs to get my sea legs (and perhaps a slightly longer music loop would be nice too).
Great compo entry!
Hahahahaa. I had a pong game too. Similar in a lot of ways, actually, you should check it out.
I think yours has a better grasp on the aesthetic though, and I like how it evolves. Nice work.
Whoa, super-nice work. I love the atmosphere that you're able to create here. Looking at your comment above, I agree communicating the progression might be a little too subtle here (though, in my game, I went too far in the other direction). I think a little post-jam time spent balancing this a little more and this is a true gem.
Looks awesome. Any chance for a mac or web version?
This is beautiful visual polish for 72 hours. The parallax backgrounds and character animations are fantastic. Very nice work.
Now you just need some awesome, heart-pounding music!
This was a fun little idea. I definitely didn't kill the boss. Perhaps that's the point: "... the worse it gets." Cool meta-entry.
I WANT to love this. It's got everything I want, namely retro CGA graphics, but it's just way too hard for me. I had fun crashing the ship for a bit, but then I had to walk away... Any way to reduce the difficulty for casual gamers like me?
Love it. Deeply disturbing and wonderful pixel graphics. Surprisingly involved for a Bitsy game.
Thanks for once again bringing to light the horrors of the human condition.
(oh, and it needs music... like disturbing body ambiences like in "Inside").
I. love. this. Fantastic idea, and great execution. If you do any post-jam revisions, I might look at the controls a little bit, but really, I think the looseness is kind of part of the game.
Fantastic overall package with graphics, sfx, and music. Great work.
Yay! Redemption! I was getting worried there near the end, but I love where you went with it.
I'm trying to download this and give it a try, but I'm getting a bit confused. Do you have a zip with just the index and necessary files somewhere? The link to Google drive seems incomplete.
This looks great! Let me know if you do a web or Mac build, because I'd love to try it.
Awesome! The best little touch is the "death cam."
This is the best engagement with the theme that I've seen so far--a philosophical ethics problem wrapped up in a Ludum Dare entry.
As above, I got a 404 on the itch page. Looking forward to playing it when it's online.
@jupiter-hadley - Sweet! Thanks for playing! Looking forward to watching your journey through this LD's entrants.
Ok. I love this. Absolutely fantastic. The whole package. Well done.
This looks like fun! Any chance for a Mac or web build?
Very cool. I like the originality and overall aesthetic here. This is what I like Ludum Dare for, these games that aren't like anything I've played before.
Neat. This is a lot of fun, and I love the retro-90s aesthetics (and the pseudo-arcade machine). This feels pretty good to play too, the controls are nice, and I like the top-down, original GTA graphics.
This is a pretty fantastic jam entry. I love the graphics especially and how everything evolves over time. Super-slick.
I have to play with my keyboard, so the direction control wasn't as good as I assume it is with twin sticks.
If you continue to develop this, you should consider heavy metal adaptive music in the background, like building up along with your visuals.
Whoa. This looks dope. Any chance of a Mac or web build?
This looks amazing. Any chance there'll be a web or Mac build? I want to give these hand-drawn graphics a shot.
What's a "donger"?
Not really my sense of humor, but I can appreciate the voxel graphics here. I kept dying super-fast, though, perhaps a little generosity with the collisions of the enemies (or even some kind of life bar).
I love the retro-synthwave music!
Nice! I love the background ambience, and the hand-drawn aesthetic.
There are a few too many things for me to think about at once here, but that seems to a recurring thing that I'm running into with this theme.
I need to be better at multitasking.
This is fantastic. My three-year-old son was watching in rapt attention as I played too.
Super-impressive work for a compo entry. This is crazy work in sound, music, visuals and gameplay.
I get a bit dizzy with the world-spinning, maybe there's a way to make it a bit more palatable for folks like me (like easing into it or something).
I think I lost the game (or maybe I won).
This music (and recording quality) is dismally perfect.
Very cool! This is a great, original idea, and smart integration of the theme.
Unfortunately, my musical prowess does not support my dating prowess as much as I feel it should.
Swipe down.
Holy cow. This is fantastic. It's a great idea, and you clearly spent a lot of time working on the balance, as it's really rewarding.
Keep up the good work!
Very cool. This is fantastic work for a 48-hour compo entry. The graphics are adorable and the music is great too. It's a little too much for my tiny brain to manage the simultaneous tasks here, but I feel like I've been writing that in the comments for basically every game this time around.
Whoa, this is super-sleek Pico-8 work for 48 hours (including music too!). Really nicely done.
Great genre fusion here too. It's a little tough for me, but I'm not really a puzzle-platformer kind of guy.
Keep it up!
Whoa. Crazy. I love this, but the difficulty curve is a little off the hook. Maybe you could have an easy mode for n00bs like me.
Awesome originality and use of the theme.
Wish I could play this! Any chance for a Mac or web build?
Really great visuals. I love your distinctive style, and how the interactivity of your graphics have evolved since your last entry.
Really fantastic work for 48 hours.
If you pressed me to give some advice for places to grow, I would suggest original music, sound effects, and maybe, someday, voice acting.
Great work as always.
Super-cool. This is great work for 48 hours. 3D platformers are my nemesis, but this is a rather reasonable solution (locking the perspective, and making the issues of the genre into the strength of the game).
All this and music too!
Totally awesome. I love it. This is the best game I've played so far.
It just needs some card SFX.
Wow! I LOVE THIS! Brilliant combination. I think this is the most successful combination of genres that I've played so far.
Really addictive too. Great work.
Ha! I used to have a bunch of these Tiger Electronics games, so this is a total nostalgia trip for me. Very nice recreation (except with gore). Now I've got to go dig out my old Tom & Jerry Game.
Wow, very cool. Nethack meets Wing Commander (is that statement a bit too dated)?
It's a bit hard to keep track of the rotation, maybe it's a simple solution of, instead of snapping to the new rotation, having the camera quickly pan there.
All that aside, great compo entry, just add some music!
Is it possible to both love and hate a game at the same time? Because, if so, that's how I feel about this game. It's totally a fantastic idea, but man do I hate flappy-bird...
