Completed it, a bit lacking in challenge at the moment and going for the 'no control of direction in air' is realistic but always feels weird. The visuals were pretty nicely drawn. The jump felt a bit floaty and you can do some weird super jump if you touch a wall. Congrats on your first LD, good effort
Good but controls unpredictable. Good overall!

It's working and finishable, that's already an achievement.
The game is pretty fun.
However i think it could use some more obstacles to make it little bit more challanging.
Good job!

Thank you - yeah i think i will make later a Post LD Version of that with more enemy types, a real story and more levels (and some more content).
Simple but pretty good entry. Nice job! Hit box on monsters seemed like it might be a little large but otherwise no issues

I guess the only thing missing is air control.

I really enjoyed this game, it is a good concept and was done well. The controls while jumping could be a bit better, and there could be more challenging obstacles or levels. Good Job

At first, controls needs practice but when understood, it works well, and I made it to the end. Monsters adds a little challenge but as said in previous comments, excepts controling there is not a lot of difficulty. And, I wonder if just stay awake is very efficient to keep the planet safe - I know those aliens don't look very aggressive, but, hey, they invade us, the minimum would be to kick them off out of there ! :P That said, the game do the job and fits the theme, so, it's OK. :)

I really like the happy skipping of the character. He's really positive about being the only person awake, among aliens. It's a simple game but you got something to show and hopefully learned a lot. Good job

First off, Good job making a game for the jam! It's always a struggle starting off, but soon you will be addicted to game jams. Now onto the game. I felt there was a lack of challenge to the game play. It made it a bit boring to play. Also some background music would of made it a bit more intense. Other than those points, well done!
Hey, it's a solid game in it proposal. If you add air control and maybe a faster jump (and fall), you can increase the number of enemies, put different obstacles and bring more difficulty.
I loved watching Energy Boy dance through the city streets with nary a care for his well-being or the apparent alien invasion. That much energy drink can't be healthy though... :stuck_out_tongue:
It was cutesy, and overall pretty coherent. Most of my intended suggestions (more challenge, air-control) have already been raised. Good for your first LD entry, keep at it!

Wow guys - thank you for your positive feedback and your tipps. Well i will work later on a Post LD Version (i think i will start to improve it in 3 weeks cause i am on vacation in the next weeks) and then i improve the jumping and gameplay mechanics etc.

I didn't make it to the end, if there's one. Controls were a bit fluffy but otherwise OK. Good job!
The drawings were very good, I liked the colors you used in the play menu, and the animation too, but lack background music, and something else to make the game more challenging. And I liked how designed the buildings, it was cool, maybe he would combine more if the setting was the night, or better yet, in the late afternoon. However, it was a good job.

Thank you @perdugames for your feedback :) i had a similiar thought after the jam that the art ist okay but needs more improvements.
It sounds like you're making a post LD version, so let me give my two cents. I think the walking animation is missing just one frame between the last and the first frame, It's quite the jump. Definitely add music, I recommend LMMS, That's what i use. It takes about 30 minutes to get used to it, but once you got it you can make some really rocking tunes, watch a tutorial. The sound of the player picking up a battery is fairly loud, you could tone it down a little. And as mentioned above you want more enemies, i suggest making one that jumps up and down. It adds a bit of timing to the mix. I had fun with this one, and I'm looking forward to seeing your projects in the future.

@blobo thank you for your feedback - i try currently to use the Famitracker to make some cool chiptunes music but its sometimes really hard (and i didnt made much music in the past). But i will give LMMS a try (i may tried it in the past - there where so many programs :)).
The funny thing is : i have one frame for the jump but i forgot to use it as the time runs out lol. So its more running in the sky :) But anyway - i share your mind that there is min 1 frame missing in walk (i am not yet so good in drawing characters walk cycle :)).
I like your idea for adding a jump enemy :)
Fun little game, but definitely needs more polishing: - some sprites flicker, while character is moving, - making player unable to controll his movement in mid air after jump, can make some people upset. Graphics look simple but fun. Overall nice game, but as I said needs polishing.

Controls are a bit rough and I was expecting more than one level. Still a solid game. Good job.
Nice job, I managed to finish it and no bugs came to disturb the fun, and controls were enjoyable. It sure could use a little bit more variety and challenge (different kind of landscapes and enemies) and maybe a more challenging energy management, but I'm sure your post LD Version will bring new fun stuff :) Anyway, nice entry!
Interesting little game ! Congratulations !

Simple platformer, a bit easy and the level could have a bit more platforming to challenge the player. I enjoyed the 5 min spent on it, it's a nice game.

Love the art style, and the game is well balanced - you've got the basics of a platformer down pat. Although of course the level did not have much variety, but then the lack of control in the air provided enough of a challenge for me to see it through in the end. I would say that it would only be worth adding control in the air if you upped the level complexity to a point where you would need it. It would be waaaay too easy otherwise :)
I did notice that the hitboxes seemed a little big for the enemies, but this is a minor gripe and I soon got used to staying well clear!
If you wanted to make it more challenging without going through the rigmarole of level design and testing, you could make the screen automatically scroll forwards, or even turn it into a one button "runner", which would force the player to focus on really perfecting their jump timing.
Neat game. I finished! This is a lot fun. The jump felt a bit floaty, both when in the air and when landing, but, I finished, so it can't be such a big deal. Keep up the good work!
Awesome!

Charming pixel art, but mechanically there are some issues. The jump was floaty, and controlling your momentum mid-air seems to be more of an argument with Unity's AddForce method than anything else ;)
Wish there was some way of seeing progression, or a score system - but aside from those nitpicks, this is a good entry. Looking forward to seeing more from you guys.

I tried to jump on top of the enemies to kill them. It didn't work. xD The graphics are cool!

You did a great game congratulations.
There were no any audio. Only one sound when you get energy drink in the whole game. There is even no background audio. It makes game boring and it's very awful because the game has a very good potential. Controlling of the camera could be better. I don't understand why you added inertia to the camera. But graphics was fun and cool. Those green monsters :D. And theme is pretty good. And screens! They are the best I've ever seen. O don't know why but I just like them. Anyway, great job and well done. Keep going!
Fun little game. The things I liked the most are graphics (like the teacup head, quite good choice). The level design is simple and create a lack of challenge, you can add more heights, stairways, or anything there is on top of a building (like a whole family having a good lunch haha).
You didn't made a background music but if you make one after, it would be really great!
Maybe work on the controls a little bit. By the way the Web version was laggy for me, don't know if it's just me or not! :D

The game could use a little bit more challange and improved control but the graphics are really cool I liked the green slimes!

Nice but I think it needs more challenges. The controls were nice and easy but the jumps were too floaty. Overall, it was fun but needs more content and more polished controls. I also faced some collision with an invisible boundary somewhere but it was easy to jump over so it is probably some collision with the ground at the boundary between 2 ground sprites.
A bit on the easy side, but still a good game. I think if you forced the player to constantly run and upped the speed a bit it could pose a bit more challenge. The graphics were clean and easy to read, with a really nice opening screen and great character and enemies.
I encountered a physics glitch at one point, running across a flat floor and getting stuck. I could get out of it by jumping, though, so no lasting problem there.
All in all, good work!
