LD27 — 10 Seconds

Test Subject 13B by maxking1234 2013-08-27T09:39:00

Good game! I think the balance is good as it is - keeps you on your toes. Though it was a bit irksome to sometimes be spawned right into the middle of a zombie mosh pit. Really nice graphics, and the music helped set the dungeon ambience.

The First Odyssey by davisan 2013-08-27T12:48:00

Pretty fun, quickly found though that the most efficient way to use the arrows was by spraying the whole environment with 'em. Nice piano music, and the level was really large for something that was made in 48 hours. Good work!

6th Station by juaxix 2013-08-27T12:24:00

Short and sweet. Sound and graphics were good, but the sound cut out for me abruptly on occasion - don't know if that's intended or not. A bit easy, but polished overall.

The Call by Yakka 2013-08-27T12:17:00

Interesting idea and take on the theme. It hung up on me a few times, (the game, not the phone), but really that just gave me the chance to replay it and know a bit more about what was going on.

Midlands Noire by Ysty 2013-08-27T12:53:00

Atmospheric, though it wasn't easy to spot the theme. The storefront effect was pretty neat.

Hoard Frenzy by ryan0788 2013-08-27T08:43:00

Couldn't get it to run :( I'm on Mac OS X 10.8.4, running Java 7. I get to a window that lets me choose the screen dimensions, but it immediately crashes when opening the game window.

Terminal 10 by alts 2013-08-27T08:53:00

A really fun take on the theme. Took me a few (read: a lot) of tries to get the parachute on successfully. I guess what I've learned today is that putting on a parachute in free-fall is like playing DDR on a spinning mattress.

Dust in the Candy Megaverse by Xgor 2013-08-27T11:25:00

Okay, this game was kinda ...weird. A bit hard to control, but a neat idea and I had fun with it. Pretty polished for something made in two days, almost as polished as those candies were after I was done with 'em ;)

Woodman for President by lcarpentier 2013-08-27T12:06:00

Feels complete and really polished, even if the theme feels a bit tacked on. Still, I for one celebrate the newly elected President Woodward. A guy with that many nobel prizes must have done something right, no matter how many tiger corpses he leaves in his wake.

Five Seconds by Latcarf 2013-08-27T09:58:00

Mac user here, the Mac standalone works without a hitch. As for the game, I found it difficult to control (I'm using the keyboard). The character was so fast that it was easy to overshoot your target and waste time. Bullets were really hard to use on level 3, as well, which is where I stopped. But the first two levels were still pretty fun.

Forage by Nucleartree123 2013-08-27T11:10:00

I've got to give you props for managing to make something under those circumstances, because that sounded very tricky. I'm guessing pure JavaScript? While I won't say that this was one of the best entries I've tried of LD#27 it's probably the best game I've played that was made in two hours ;)

Flash Memory by Turkey 2013-08-27T11:01:00

Seems like a really hard game, from what little I saw of it, but it doesn't work for me. The box for entering your answers doesn't react to anything I do. I'm running Mac OS X, though, so I guess this is only for Windows?

SpaceSwitch by truiton 2013-08-27T11:16:00

Pretty fun and the music provided some nice ambience. I really liked the morphing animations when the levels changed between different states. Had a good time overall. :)

100-Dash Dreams by frogcheese 2013-08-27T09:15:00

For reference to anyone wondering the world record is 9.58 by Usain Bolt. 10 seconds and less is just really good. Anyone who feels bummed that they couldn't run under 10 seconds - it's probably my fault for not spending more time on balancing the speed gain/loss equation.

Match A Number by amidos2006 2013-08-27T13:03:00

I like it - a bit hectic sometimes, but it's really polished and fun to play.

Bomb defuse - 10 seconds by choqaae 2013-08-27T08:18:00

I played for over 20 levels, so if that's not a measure for the game, I don't know what is. It was fun, though it wasn't that hard once I figured out a basic setup that worked for most of the levels.

Baldaquin by Marcellus 2013-08-27T11:44:00

Pretty fun for your first game! I quite liked the sound design - it made nailing a row of jocks feel really rewarding ;)

10-Second Switch by oajfh 2013-08-27T08:37:00

Got it to run without problem on my Macbook! Feedback: the bullets are hard to see against the background sometimes, and maybe it should be more apparent what the "Ready" button does (didn't see a timer appear or anything). I would've liked there to be more enemies as well, but nonetheless pretty solid for a first effort.

10-Second Switch by oajfh 2013-08-27T11:31:00

@oajfh okay, because that didn't happen for me. If the button doesn't work properly I guess it could be because I'm running Mac OS X.

Naskea by Ninquo 2013-08-27T12:35:00

Can't get it to work for me. I'm on a Macbook, I get the .jar to run fine but it doesn't accept my number input (arrow keys work fine). Is it hardwired to only accept input from the numpad that is on the right-hand side of most PC keyboards?

Nonzero by koller-digital 2013-08-27T09:19:00

Got it to work on my Macbook. It was a bit choppy at times, but I don't know if that's just because i use an unlisted OS. A really nice idea - hectic, and overall pretty polished.

RetroType by Blinked 2013-08-27T12:30:00

...I'll not post my WPM so as to keep hidden the depths of my shame.

Anyhoo, typing games are usually a lot of fun and this is no exception. Really felt polished, too. Well done!

Commander McSpace by MadcoreTom 2013-08-27T11:54:00

It lags a lot when gravity shifts on my Macbook with Java 7, but other than that it's all good. Really cute art style :)

LD28 — You Only Get One

Dreams of war by netmute 2013-12-20T18:40:00

The atmosphere and audio is amazing. The headphones really did a whole lot - thanks for suggesting it! Pretty polished, and I loved the deep boom signaling a successful shot.

One Door by godan 2013-12-20T19:46:00

The graphics and music are really good, as is the mood. Overall it was an intriguing play, even if I accidentally dropped off the edge of the map at one point :)

Asteroids:Omega by peacegiverman 2013-12-22T10:45:00

It's a nice spin on the tried old classic, and once the civilian ship was introduced it got really hard really quickly. Fun and challenging - though maybe a little too challenging for me :P As others've said, a tracer line for the first screen or so would be a good addition.

Carry the one by goerp 2013-12-25T11:38:00

Really nice idea for a puzzle game!
Walking around didn't really add anything to the game, especially with how slow it was - I think it would've worked just as well (maybe even better) if you instead just show the player a few blackboards, the intended result and the starting number and let them figure out where to put their number without having to move a character around. So if you were to develop this further, my advice in short is to either develop the "platforming" segments to be more interesting by themselves, or to just completely embrace the puzzle aspect and do away with the platform stuff.
It wasn't the most fun I've had with a game this LD, but it's probably one of the more innovative and surprising takes on the theme and that counts for a whole lot :)

Burning Fridges by foumart 2014-01-02T19:05:00

Interesting mechanic, though having to keep track of both oxygen and heat levels is a bit too much for me so I ended up ignoring them and just tried to corner the enemy instead. My suggestion is to remove either the oxygen or the heat mechanic to make it easier for the player to strategize. Criticism aside, it's still a really solid game and one of the better ones I've played this round!

At The Count Of 3, Baby, I Hope I Disappear by Joker 2013-12-20T19:55:00

I liked the idea, but I'd like to see a bit more done with it. I only used the invisibility a couple of times at the start to see what it was like and then just whenever I encountered one of the gates. One idea to make things more interesting could be to make things in the world change in some ways while you're invisible so players get more curious and use their invisibility a bit more often to see what happens.

THE NINION - A MELON SURVIVAL by chocobyte 2013-12-18T07:59:00

The last level was a bit brutal, but all in all it was pretty fun. I didn't see that strong of a connection to the theme, though - you sometimes had more than one jump, so was the "only one" the melon or the ninion? Well, I guess they would be on the brink of extinction if there was only one of the little guys left ;)

Loops of Fate by Symmeteer 2013-12-18T08:11:00

Short and sweet. Some clickable roads overlapped a bit in the UI, though, sometimes leading to my closing an earlier path rather than opening the one I intended to click. The link to the theme was more metaphorical than anything, but I guess that's okay too. I know my life occasionally feels like it's going through a series of different loops... though maybe it hurts the theme a bit that in this case I get to restart as many times as I like ;)

Rune Raider by nyytroh 2013-12-20T20:28:00

I got 1370 points, though I'm not sure if that's good or not. The idea was nice, and even if I didn't understand it at first I did after my first run. I think it would help to know how the score is calculated though, so a player knows what to aim for.

EVA : You only get one... by Lyonsbanner 2013-12-23T18:13:00

Short, funny and cute. The mood music was a nice touch. Your grammar was pretty bad, but I could still at least understand what the characters were saying. Overall, a really nice game!

Bolt by Hologuardian 2013-12-23T15:53:00

Couldn't run it on OS X 10.9.1 :(

Love or gold by Copix 2013-12-23T19:07:00

I liked the part with controlling both two turrets and a character, but since I played it on a laptop it would've been a lot more comfortable to control with WASD instead of the arrow keys since I have to use a touchpad instead of mouse.

Digital Hero by Leoche 2013-12-23T15:48:00

Really fun shooter game! The amount of choices you had to pick from after each level really put a lot of strategy into the choice compared to how it would've been if it'd just been three or four picks. The control scheme was really bad though - I played it on a laptop and had to cross my arms to keep my right hand on the touchpad and the left on the arrow keys. This game really needs a WASD option.

One Minute. One Chance. by jojohnson1 2013-12-23T15:59:00

It's a pretty fun game, even if the whole "retry from level 1" thing gets my goat. I think your game would fare better if you got rid of that and just stuck with "you have one minute" for the theme.

Stickman in a Cave by bitowl 2013-12-23T18:34:00

Fun game! One bug I seem to have found is that you are killed instantly by any enemy you touch regardless of how much health you have left - which I suspect is because there is no "invincibility period" for the player after being damaged and so damage is dealt every frame.

The Terrible Battle Between Men and Turtles by saulopz 2013-12-27T13:39:00

Quick and fun, though getting stopped by a turtle walking in your way was irritating. Either way it's a good job for something made in less than 24 hours!

SOSEB (Slightly Overweight Super Elemental Bankrobber) by MystFire 2013-12-23T15:23:00

A nice idea, though somewhat ruined by unwieldy controls. The character often walljumps when I try to jump over a ledge and keeps moving in one direction even when I'm not pressing any keys. I'm using Chrome for OS X.

The powers were pretty neat though I quickly settled on fire as my preferred one. With better controls I think this game would be interesting to see further developed.

Cure the infected! by archaeometrician 2013-12-22T11:19:00

Cool idea, but somewhat wonky physics. It was difficult until I figured out you could just cure a bunch of people until you could afford the immunity vaccines - then it was smooth sailing.

Candy Mogul by tassadar 2013-12-23T18:49:00

Fun idea, though it was a bit too easy for me to get all that invested in. I would like to know where my rival learned how to teleport, though - that would be a highly advantageous skill for building my evil candy empire :)

SPELLBREAKER by jdpalmer 2013-12-20T19:36:00

Fun little puzzle game and a really nice take on the theme! The visuals were clean and striking. The music was decent - though it got a little grating by the time I got to the last few levels. Overall a good, polished effort!

Straight Ahead by Ipsio 2013-12-23T18:55:00

Really polished game with a nice take on the theme. The background music was really good! The controls felt a little bit floaty, but far from the worst I've encountered.

Gravity Assist by Lyje 2013-12-20T18:33:00

This was really cool! I tried for high points for a while, but it got ridiculously hard really fast. And then my screen ended up looking like an abstract art piece. It's not often that I somehow manage to create something so beautiful by failing horribly at a task. I salute you ;)

Unibrow by ViliX64 2013-12-27T14:00:00

Interesting mechanic, weird humor and moody music. Somehow it all came together really well! Not much of a challenge, but it was worth playing.

Flickeroid by rorycooke 2013-12-23T19:02:00

Interesting idea, though it would be even better if all of the enemies didn't appear from the same spot. It would help to put crosshairs on the mouse position to make aiming easier, and something that I think would also be good is to have a different color for enemy bullets so they don't blend in with your own. All in all, I had some fun with it and it's definitely a take on the theme that I haven't seen anyone else think of so far :)

Cmdr. Yogo by rnlf 2013-12-20T20:06:00

Really fun game! Some levels were easy, but others really needed precision. Fun dialogue between the commander and the ship as well. And the animations for the different explosives are awesome.

You only get one happy little life by lorniebear 2013-12-20T17:56:00

Fun, quick little game, and really cute! Also, really, really hard. I couldn't get past that red flower at that one level at all :)

One by bodsey 2014-01-02T18:50:00

A really pleasant take on the theme that made my heart swell a little. It put me in a good mood, so that's five Mood stars for you, buddy! :)

Welcome Horse Sh*t by rezzish 2013-12-20T20:49:00

Reminds me a bit of a game I made for a course at university way back when. If it's any consolation to you that game wasn't really all that much more complex than yours and it took closer to two weeks than two days to make. And installing and running it was a pain and a half. Now *that* game was some horseshit. You'll do better next time. :)

Other than that, there isn't a whole lot of game to talk about - though I was pleasantly surprised by the game wrapping around, so that you could aim off screen and hit things on the opposite side.

Ludum Simulator 3000 by 01101101 2013-12-20T20:15:00

Cool idea, though I guess I myself prefer coding an actual game for LD rather than playing a game about it ;) Pretty polished and fun for a little while.

Fish Go Blub by Dry Tree 2014-01-02T19:16:00

I love one-button games, and yours is pretty well-made! It's a simple mechanic, but with a bit more polish and flair you could probably churn out a full game around it.

One Wish by miwuc 2013-12-20T18:18:00

A pretty clever use of the theme. I went through it a lot of times to see what the different wishes led to (and the winning move seems so obvious in retrospect...) I think it would have benefitted greatly from some background music.

One Button Racer by badlydrawnrod 2013-12-20T20:21:00

Nice idea and a fun game - when I saw "one-button racing game" I was sure it had to do with acceleration, but the lane-changing thing was pretty clever. I liked the music, too - relaxing :)

One Path by postmodestie 2013-12-20T18:49:00

I had a lot of trouble wrestling with the controls. I probably spent half of all those years injured ;P Still, a good effort and the quizzes were pretty fun with some really weird answers.

This world is broken by toaster 2013-12-20T20:42:00

A fun game with a difficulty curve that hits you upside the face and then runs off laughing. With the graphics, style and gameplay it felt a little bit like a cross between VVVVVV and Super Meat Boy.

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

SUNK by GeorgeBroussard 2014-05-09T21:32:00

124 seconds. Difficult. :/ It's a really simple game, but still effective, and an interesting take on the theme. And really polished too! Good job!

Blue waves by dector 2014-05-09T20:02:00

Interactive aquarium, I like! Simple and soothing, takes me back to when lil' kid frogcheese got an aquarium of his own.

Germaniac by Jiddo 2014-05-18T15:42:00

I played it on OSX, and it worked beautifully. A really weird game, made even more awesome by the supremely weird music. I'm afraid that poor mr. Fancypants didn't quite make it with me at the controls, but I believe he is in a better place now. u_u

Ludumsub by travislucia 2014-05-18T16:39:00

Really well-done and polished, especially visually - the particle effects in particular impressed me. A short but fun, sometimes tricky game with nice moody music. Well done!

Turn-A Totally BS!: Turn Up a Dig Site by avalonknight 2014-05-18T16:46:00

Not much gameplay other than "click, repeat until win" but it did have charming music and visuals. I am left wondering where they got the digger though, and if any of the girls are licensed to operate one...

The Last Packet of Pumpkin Seeds by AlexFili 2014-05-10T18:43:00

A bit on the short side, but well-written. Would've liked to see another character or two in there, or perhaps getting to see more signs and get more history of the main character and the people beneath the surface.

Artifact Hunter by starfeesh 2014-05-18T16:30:00

It's a cool game, and I managed to scrape by for ten years pretty well. Unfortunately, after that my sites stopped turning up finds, and for some reason it was impossible for me to start new ones, even after abandoning the two I had. I'm guessing this is a bug. It's a shame too - Dr. Doombringer Ph.D had such lofty dreams.

PORTHOLE by Ragzouken 2014-05-04T17:03:00

Abstract, unsettling and interesting. Good sound and graphic design, though the gameplay was a little lacking for me. The claymation was unexpected and really cool! :)

Ben Eath the Surf Ace by goerp 2014-05-04T17:50:00

Okay, I'll give you extra points just for style. Short, fun little game with a really silly vibe and more humor than you can shake a Cool Dude at. No replay value, but still pretty fun for something made in a day. :)

Eiradirian Wormfare by blay09 2014-05-18T17:17:00

It's a really cool game, but I was seriously put off by the overly long intro cutscene, the text messages popping up over the middle of the screen and the constant chat between the characters that I didn't have time to read because I was trying to play. Graphics-wise it was really, really good, and gameplay was interesting if a bit difficult. A really good effort that's a bit rough around the edges, and impressive for an LD game.

Dream of Depth by Cirrial 2014-05-04T16:55:00

Wow, pretty cool idea for a strategy game. I'd really like to see you go further with this! Pity about the lack of sound, but the graphics are awesome. It took a couple of minutes before I realized what I had to do (like pan the camera down, for instance) but once I did the game turned out pretty easy. A solid entry! :)

Skin by AxeTheory 2014-05-10T19:26:00

I had fun with this game! Taking control of the enemies was cool, but the coolest part was building a small army of zombies and then taking out your last enemies from behind while they were fighting your minions. Good work!

Indie Space Miner by Supersonic112 2014-05-10T18:18:00

It wasn't very clear what would cause a cave-in as I sometimes got killed on squares that were marked "harmless". The idea is nice, but the game would really benefit from more and clearer communication.

Beneath The Surface by Taffaz 2014-05-09T21:09:00

Nice obstacle course game. The diving sound got annoying pretty quickly, and the collision was a bit wonky (especially on level 5) but overall it was quick, simple fun.

Full Immersion by end3r 2014-05-18T13:19:00

A pretty simple avoidance game, though it seemed a bit bugged to me. My first try worked fine, and I got to around 300m. When I restarted, the counter said that I was at around 3000m before flipping back to zero, and then the game blasted me with a full screen of mines that made it impossible to survive. Subsequent retries were the same until I refreshed the page. As such I can't comment much on the gameplay, but the graphics are really well done.

Hughes by SnoringFrog 2014-05-18T09:58:00

Pretty sure Maes Hughes didn't work for a tablet company. Then again maybe he should've...

A short but humorous entry, and out of the platformers I've played this LD this was one of the ones that felt the easiest to control, with very minor collision problems. Pretty good for your first attempt at the genre!

Beneath The Skin by minibutmany 2014-05-04T16:45:00

Really clever take on the theme! It was a bit difficult to protect the blood cells near the end when bacteria started spawning almost on top of them, but I managed to make it all the way through. Nice work!

Dark Escape by Masadow 2014-05-11T17:29:00

Boy, was I terrible at this. I finally found the exit, but I think I'll keep my score to myself... :P Cool concept, navigating a maze in the dark was hard enough, but the overlay really added another dimension of difficulty to it.

Super Plumber Brothers by arrogant.gamer 2014-05-04T17:43:00

Sorry, the bad hit detection made it really hard for me to play this all the way through. Still, it's a really neat idea.

In the Black by HybridMind 2014-05-04T18:58:00

Nice mood and a good tune. The interface was clean and stylish, and it wasn't obvious what decisions should be made to maximize profits and minimize risk at each point. Good work. :)

Ninja VS Worms by ninjacharlie 2014-05-11T18:55:00

Worked out a system where I stayed in the left corner and spammed to top right and managed to get 621 kills before biting the dust. An intense but fun little game that did a number on my wrist. The sacrifices we have to make to destroy those nasty worms... Anyway, good job!

Five little Submarines by ziege 2014-05-11T18:49:00

Cute characters! It's pretty good for a one-day effort (grats on your first entry, btw!) It was really hard finding the kids, though - the place was enormous and easy to get lost in. I managed to return three before I died, and even that was pretty time-consuming. Nonetheless, good job!

UnderTheLibrary by Delca 2014-05-11T15:59:00

It's a cute little platformer with nice graphics and an impressive amount of polish, though it was a bit slow and wordy when explaining some of the basic concepts like the enemies. I still had fun with it, though - good job!

Delve Into the Deep by frogcheese 2014-05-04T14:46:00

Hey Joshua. From looking at the log, I think your version of Java is probably incompatible with the version of the bundled LWJGL. Do you know what Java version you use?

Delve Into the Deep by frogcheese 2014-05-04T16:00:00

@czery .jar files aren't executable as standard in Ubuntu as a protection against malware. You can mark a .jar as executable by right-clicking on it, going into Properties and marking a checkbox. I don't know if there's anything I can do to make a .jar executable by default when downloaded onto Ubuntu, but I doubt it.

Delve Into the Deep by frogcheese 2014-05-09T19:54:00

@KevinWorkman oh goodness, you almost brought a tear to my eye! That was absolutely amazing. Thank you - if comments had mood ratings you'd get five stars in a heartbeat. :)

Delve Into the Deep by frogcheese 2014-05-11T17:17:00

Thank you so much everyone for your comments and ratings! I was using an outdated version of LibGDX for this game, but I've now updated it. This hopefully solves the crashing problems some of you have encountered. If not, leave a comment; I'm very busy on weekdays, but I'll try to get a look at it as quickly as I can!

Delve Into the Deep by frogcheese 2014-05-25T11:37:00

Wow, 39th place? That's better than I even hoped for. :) Thanks a lot to everyone who played and rated Delve Into the Deep - I hope your games did well too, and that you stick around 'til august!

Sewer Escape by somethingsimilar 2014-05-01T13:37:00

Grats on your first entry! I was there myself not too long ago. :)

The game was a bit choppy on my Macbook, and while the level design was a bit simple the the robots really managed to instill a sense of dread. Those beeps... All in all, it's a nice first effort!

The abyss within by UnixXNova 2014-05-04T14:32:00

The music did a whole lot to create an atmosphere along with the lighting. Not much gameplay-wise though, and the choices weren't very interesting since the only real impact was whether or not you died. This could be more fun to play with some random generation or choices that directly affect the game world.

Escape - Beneath the Surface by saulopz 2014-05-04T18:34:00

I use OSX, and it works for me. I can't seem to progress, though; I only found two items and then got stuck finding or doing anything else. I'm guessing this is part of the incompleteness of the game? It's a pity since I like "escape" games. Better luck next time!

QP : Fix the leak! by ElStevo 2014-05-18T14:41:00

Interesting theme, and really tricky game - the swinging mechanic was perfect for it. I did manage to finish eventually. The music was good and made you feel pressured - though my headphones almost exploded by a weird sound right as the game finished loading so I'll dock you an audio star for my poor ears' sakes. All in all it's a good, short and fun game - well done!

Truffles by k.escoe 2014-05-04T16:29:00

Nice atmosphere and really pretty graphics! The elevator button sound hurt my ears a bit, though. Other than that, a solid platforming game and very good for a first effort. Grats, and good job! :)

An Osterreich tale, or something about ostriches by Marcellus 2014-05-04T19:08:00

Nice idea, but it was a bit too hard for me. It was a really cool take on the theme at least, with some nice music to boot. :)

The Sadness of Rocky Barbato by PaperBlurt 2014-05-04T18:48:00

Humorous, sad, then creepy. But you kept me involved in the story from start to finish. I didn't expect much when I started, but I was sure shown what for - good job! :)

Troubles beneath the surface by archaeometrician 2014-05-01T14:07:00

Really nice graphics and audio (especially that creepy tune at the end), though the controls were a bit difficult to work with on my laptop. I would've liked the enemies to have been a bit more threatening, but overall I had a good time with this. Never realized you could surface for air since I used pickups and ports to restock. Also didn't realize I had limited ammo until I'd burned through all of my harpoons within five seconds of starting the game. :P

Scratch Ticket Fate by XenosNS 2014-05-18T09:51:00

Funny and clever idea. I love the "YAAY" and happy music when you "win" your fate, and some of the fates themselves were pretty funny.

Mount! by Namide 2014-05-18T17:40:00

The cubes got almost impossible to avoid when the terrain got too level, but other than that it's a cool little avoidance game. I did notice later on that you could just blast off the right side of the screen, past the block spawner and stay safe for as long as you wanted... but that's not really all that fun!

Beneath The Darkness by Nichii 2014-05-10T17:57:00

Nice, moodful little experience. It was a bit easy though, seeing as enemies did barely any damage and health powerups were very generous. Nice job on the cutscenes. :)

Something Beneath the Surface (Sea's will) by Striwx 2014-05-18T14:12:00

Beautiful graphics and wonderful sound! The controls were a bit frustrating, though, and the purpose of the game was a bit unclear. Overall, still one of the most visually appealing games I've played this LD!

Beneath the Rain by CruelMotivator 2014-05-18T13:58:00

Nice mood with good graphics and audio. I rarely went to work, preferring to go gallivanting about and looking at stuff. :)

Under the kitchen surface by lorniebear 2014-05-04T17:17:00

Oh, I remember you and your dad from last year. It's unusual but really awesome to see a parent and child both take part in a game competition! And your game is pretty cool game! I kept playing for several minutes, seeing how close I could get to the highscore. My best was 64012. :)

Holy Moly by thaaks 2014-05-04T14:41:00

Pretty fun little game. The boot made me smile the first time it came down. :) It's a pity the rats don't have any pathfinding, because this game would really benefit from having them start following you. I never had any difficulty avoiding them. What if they spawned nearby any of the remaining worms and could dig their own tunnels, so you had to get close to them?

Dead Dead Resurrection by monaarc 2014-05-10T18:34:00

Difficult, hectic, and a take on "beneath the surface" that I definitely didn't think of. I loved the tune; it really set a coffin-killing mood. I only managed to get 3000 points...

Suck My Dig! by deadarius 2014-05-10T18:26:00

This is really awesome for a first entry! The mechanic of digging to avoid danger and get up on top of ledges is pretty cool. I could see more done with this - different enemy types and maybe some interesting stuff underground?

Go by mimiga 2014-05-10T19:00:00

Interesting and confusing puzzle game with great mood. I got pretty far, mostly by stumbling around, but I couldn't figure out "compliments yellow"... In any case, a nice, polished effort. Good job!

Siren Song by mark.goetz 2014-05-04T17:29:00

Really nice idea! The use of the breath meter is pretty clever. It quickly got very difficult to dodge the cannonballs, but I had fun. A solid entry, for sure! :)

Beneath Your House by ceosol 2014-05-10T19:07:00

Sound and concept are really awesome! I had a bit of trouble getting the guy to go where I pointed, though. Would've liked to have a display that counts how many rings I collect, too.

Fishie Fruit by czery 2014-05-04T16:22:00

Cute game with a nice beat and simple gameplay that makes you want to get as far as you can. My best score was 35245. Well done! :)

In The Caves by Clinthoney 2014-05-10T19:14:00

Simple but fun, and a really nice first entry! I especially liked the 2.5d Graphics style and the animation on the character. Hope you stick around for future contests. :)

Beneath The Surface by tastyoishi 2014-05-18T13:22:00

This seems like a cool idea (and a funny take on the theme) but I'm afraid I couldn't get it to work on my Mac. Both Chrome and Safari just show an empty blue screen with some music playing.

Living in a Kaboom submarine by copain 2014-05-11T16:48:00

This game is absolutely amazing. The voice-overs are awesome, the gameplay is tense and really fun, especially with six submarines on the field. I played against the computer, but against five friends this could really be something.

Beneath the Surface - a 2D Puzzle-Platformer by JoshOS 2014-05-11T16:32:00

Impressive platform game with loads of levels! Collision was a bit wonky sometimes, and the physics were a bit slide-y, making it harder to get jumps right, but I played through and beat all of the levels in the end. Nice work!

Kill or Kill by GreatBigJerk 2014-05-10T18:10:00

Humorous, one of the cooler takes on the theme I've seen. The sound design especially is awesome! The collision less so, but I don't expect brilliant collision detection in games made in 48 hours. My hat is off to you. :)

Beneath the Surface by Blueberry Soft 2014-05-18T14:20:00

With headphones on the sound did help create an atmosphere, but it wasn't clear what the purpose of the game was or its connection to the theme. I did manage to fall through the ground at one point and ended up in a ditch beneath a part of the level, so I guess there's that.

Digging for Gold by JoshDBB 2014-05-04T16:15:00

Clever puzzle game that occasionally requires a lot thought to solve. Pity about the lacking sound, though... Either way I had a lot of fun with it. Grats on your first entry! :)

Eisenberg by Diamond Crow 2014-05-18T15:35:00

A fun game, though the music didn't really put me in a "survival game" mood ;)

From under the snow by madflame991 2014-05-18T15:23:00

Nice Atari-esque graphics and an old-school adventure RPG feel that I really like. I goofed a bit and thought that the locked door was some kind of indestructible boulder, so I drilled past it instead rather than using the key in my inventory. Yay, alternative solutions! :)

Billy Bigdigger by 01101101 2014-05-04T16:37:00

This was a great game with awesome sound and graphics! A pity there were only three levels - this is the type of game that would really benefit from random generation. Good job! :)

Firefly by KevinWorkman 2014-05-09T21:03:00

Really fun, cool idea - easy at the start but progressively harder as more and more fireflies started stealing me and my mate's thunder. Interesting audio choice as well, though it was at its most effective when there were fewer fireflies around so it was easier to connect the notes to what was happening on screen.

Orbital Burrow by Make A Game 2014-05-09T20:54:00

Cool idea, great graphics and a sweet tune. And crushing invaders with the moon is really cathartic! I managed to keep going for almost seven minutes. With a bit more development, this could turn into something really awesome.

Earth. by miwuc 2014-05-04T14:11:00

Cool take on the theme, and I like the graphics. A bit of challenge could have added to it - maybe hide bad stuff underneath some tiles à la MineSweeper?

Coal Not Dole by badlydrawnrod 2014-05-04T17:24:00

Political satire! I'm not really the right age or nationality to completely "get it", but I suppose corrupt/horrible politicians are a universal subject matter. I love the voice-overs and the happy music. A bit difficult, but I guess that's part of the satire. :P

The Oubliette Within by Dietrich Epp 2014-05-18T13:46:00

Interesting and thoughtful, made me think. I liked the pixellated look, and the controls were smooth and responsive without any obvious collision issues, which has been a problem with many LD platformers. Good job!

Infector Detector by Devtactics 2014-05-18T10:06:00

This is a really cool concept, really difficult and stressful with that many people to look over, given that the moment someone drops you've got so many suspects. I managed to get the sucker with 250 people left... where I killed between ten and twenty myself trying to find the guy. I got lucky though - the infector pretty much left a trail of corpses bordering off a section of the map so I figured he was inside of there.

Overall, a really good job and something I'd never have imagined for the theme!

Diggleton Jr by bigbadwofl 2014-05-18T17:28:00

Fun, difficult and polished - the only thing really missing is sound. The graphics are pretty amazing for a 48 hour deal, too - good job!

Mars by DeathBread 2014-05-18T15:05:00

Interesting choice, and I bet you learnt lots doing this. There didn't really seem to be any goals in the game, so I decided to build and upgrade mines until I raked in so much cash that I could continue building without stopping. And by that point, boy was I rolling in it! As you said, it's not much "game" in it, but I had fun for a short while. :)

LD30 — Connected Worlds

Konnect Rooms by AnimeGeek32 2014-09-07T16:30:00

Always sucks when you stuff keeps you away from finishing cool ideas. Hopefully, that stuff was at least somewhat pleasant.

Either way this seems like a decent foundation for a maze or puzzle game, provided you make the rooms into a map and have different objects and stuff to do in each room.

Cosmic Conqueror by MunkeeBacon 2014-09-02T17:35:00

I really liked this game - it's just too bad that the bridge recognition seems a bit wonky. I conquered around six or seven planets, but only got cash from two of them, not counting my home planet.

Either way it's a really great idea, with an impressively slick presentation. Could easily be expanded as well - like adding enemy spaceships and defense structures, or sending invading armies across bridges and whatnot. Really cool.

Our Worlds by davisan 2014-08-29T21:11:00

Really nice! The sound and graphics were great, and the game itself was not too easy or too difficult. I liked the little sounds the characters made, and how the music subtly changed at different points.

Shit Ahead by kristof 2014-09-02T16:49:00

The graphics were really charming, the music was good and action-y, and the gameplay was fast-paced so it didn't matter much that it was hard to stay alive through the whole thing. Great job! : )

Conversation by arhpositive 2014-09-07T12:40:00

It's an interesting idea, but i think it would benefit from having more clear goals. It would also help if rotating a pair of characters was a little faster... My basic idea here is that you could make the game feel more intense by making the characters react quickly to input and add one or two more characters into the mix so that the player has to manage more connections at once. Also, an idea might be to allow players to rotate connections with the arrow keys whenever they hold down the mouse button.

Oculus Souls by OrangeeZ 2014-09-07T12:24:00

Cool graphics and nice character design! The combat was a little bit wonky, but I won't hold that against you considering you actually turned in a 3D action game to Ludum Dare. I totally forgot about the 2700 sweets for the final well though, so I spent my sweets on the other two wells (for which I have no idea what they did) and ended up unable to complete the game. A good effort, nonetheless and something I didn't expect to come across. : )

Systeme by Terrabyte 2014-09-06T19:39:00

Helmet firmly clasped on, I set out from the glorious world of Waffletron to explore the wondrous universe around me. Trusting my ship to take me wherever its navigation systems decided, I visited many places; peculiar planets like "place" and "potato"; astounding areas such as "apple", "a" and "AdequateIV"; and as my travels took me further and further out into our grandiose solar system, I finally came to a conclusion.

Yes, I'd probably give this entry 5 stars for Theme. (here you go)

Worlds apart by goerp 2014-08-29T20:37:00

Great mood for this one! I gave up after a while - I didn't really manage to make much headway. A pity too, I would've liked to see that particular love story play out...

I liked both the graphics and the music and the concept is just adorable. As well as being a take on the theme I could've never thought of - really cool! : )

Sky Crystal Adventure by George 2014-09-07T17:28:00

Really liked the simple, clean graphics. A short, somewhat atmospheric little point and click game. I like the idea of flipping the climate over using a giant switch surrounded by big signs. :P

Multifaceted by Riley Adams 2014-09-06T19:15:00

This game is really good! The worlds are just different enough to throw things around a bit but not so different as to make it too difficult reorienting yourself when you pass through at high speeds. The graphics are clean and colorful, and I really like the effect of seeing the other worlds through the portals. One of the better entries I played - good, arcadey fun!

Parallel Worlds by jprogman 2014-09-07T11:50:00

I'm not always a big fan of maze-like games, but I liked this one. I liked the retro-style graphics and sound, and the maze was pretty cleverly designed with regards to walls and portal placement. A really solid entry!

Political Planeting by ItsSacraficed 2014-09-02T18:50:00

Pretty good trading game. Went for leveling up the food planet first, and then things started to get going without much of a fuss. Simplistic, but there's no need for that many bells and whistles on a game of this type. Still, would've been nice with some background music or something.

A Roller-Skating A-List Odyssey by AnnaGavaldaKedavra 2014-08-26T19:24:00

short but kinda fun. Was really troublesome once I got down to only one left...

Opposing Worlds by KayZ 2014-09-06T21:26:00

Simple and fun, but the map is probably too large. This type of strategy game would be more fun with compact, quick maps so that every move feels like it has significance.

Siphon - Ent Garr Fon Kull by lotusgame 2014-09-07T14:58:00

Really cool game, great graphics and sound, and I kept returning to it every now and again during the day to build my evil, evil lair. Resource gathering speeds were probably a bit low for Ludum Dare - I saw plenty of levels where the player hadn't built anything. Also, as far as I can see there's pretty much only one useful resource, with all of the others used only for decoration purposes or in small amounts for tech research. My advice would be to split the useful items over more resource types; this would make the previously useless resources useful and make it easier for players to gather enough to build stuff for their own level.

Parallel Thinking by Latcarf 2014-08-29T21:37:00

It runs on my Mac without problems. Pretty simple, but I like the idea of playing two separate genres at the same time, and how the worlds affect each other.

Hello, Alien! by klianc09 2014-09-07T13:29:00

Great puzzle game with really charming graphics and funny dialogue. And I will admit that I found the aliens screaming from being set on fire hilarious.

Switch Off by ghostinthesoft 2014-09-02T17:05:00

Short, charming game with a really great take on the theme. The Doctor Ex Machina at the end was a little cute, but I think it'd been better if the remote had just been there instead for the player to shut off the TV themselves.

Super Interplanetary Space-Internet Saving Company Deluxe Task Force Adventure by SnoringFrog 2014-08-28T19:58:00

Clever puzzle game with simple, easy to understand rules and a pretty funny story. I liked it a lot. :)

A Planetary Guide by Alexander 2014-09-07T17:07:00

Darn straight! When I grew up, there were 9 planets and no less!

Cool idea, a bit quick since I still recall the order of the planets. Nice work on the rhymes - even the Gainus one.

Void Space by HuvaaKoodia 2014-09-06T18:44:00

It's a really nice visual design, if not very gamey. Like @xRubberMaid said, I can also a bit of an algorithm nerd at times, so I still found this to be a pretty cool thing.

World Swap by Turkey 2014-09-07T14:53:00

Pretty simple and sweet game, got easy once I figured out I could use my mouse cursor to mark safe spots when switching between worlds. At that point I kinda started losing interest. Maybe it would be helped if the player couldn't see the entire map at once (i.e. fog of war or similar) and you introduced a sort of "echolocation" mechanic were you press a button that shows hints of nearby safe spots in the other world?

Marbles by Lokarunith 2014-09-02T16:56:00

Using Chrome on Macbook here, getting a WebGL crash on the web version at the fadeout after clicking start. The OS X version doesn't start up at all. : (

The MillionWood by frogcheese 2014-08-25T09:45:00

@malf Thanks for the heads-up. I'd accidentally built the .jar for Java 7; it should be fixed now.

The MillionWood by frogcheese 2014-08-25T13:42:00

@Quetzakol Yeah, I knew that the window size would be trouble - you can blame this on poor planning on my part. I'll see if I can put out a scaled down post-compo version eventually for those running on smaller screens.

The MillionWood by frogcheese 2014-08-25T14:44:00

Turns out that adding multiple screen size support was a really minor addition code-wise, so I'll add it as a bugfix to the existing version. The default resolution is now 800x600, and you can toggle between resolutions using the R key.

I will freely admit that I am incredibly spoiled regarding screen size when it comes to computers, but with this I hope those of you with less ostentatious setups can play without any more trouble. : )

The MillionWood by frogcheese 2014-09-02T17:11:00

@goerp Thanks for your comment! The song plays at 120bpm - two beats per second - so I set the backgrounds to pulse twice per second starting at the point where the music begins. Since the looping doesn't seem to be completely perfect to my admittedly untrained ear, this should mean that the beats will fall out of sync if you let the game run long enough.

And I'm glad that the music drew you in! The reason I put the pulsing in there in the first place is because I thought it'd blend the song and game together much more firmly than if I just put the song in there by itself.

The MillionWood by frogcheese 2014-09-07T19:27:00

Thanks for all of your comments everyone! The common denominator here seems to be that the game is super hard. ^^'

This is most likely because I got a bit blind to what was and wasn't hard by having to play through the entire game dozens of times and tweak the design until I was able to finish the game myself.

Fun fact - there are six screens in total, spanning 24 levels. Oh, and I used to not be able to clear the final level, so I kept making both that level and a few others leading up to it easier until I could. At that point I got worried that I might have made the game *too easy*, because by then I could reliably finish the whole thing in less than 10 minutes, no sweat. Boy was I wrong...

I guess the lesson here is test your game on other unsuspecting victims before releasing it into the wild. And if you can't do that because you're taking part in a 48 hour competition and it's 2 AM, take the time to realize that your players do not have an ingrained muscle memory of every level from rigorous playtesting. :P

Word Collide by sapermysz 2014-09-07T09:18:00

I played on a laptop, so I was unable to move the camera. Didn't really understand how to properly play the game either - I managed to put down two crossbowmen but then I couldn't do anything else and when they died the enemies stopped spawning.

DON'T. BREAK. MIRRORS. by IamAcoconut 2014-09-06T19:53:00

I love cool takes on the themes like this. Funny and creepy at the same time, though Alex seems to take it all in stride... Not a whole lot of game, and the intro and retry sequences were a bit long-winded; it wasn't bad enough for me to lose interest, though. A short, fun experience in all. : )

Dreaming of Revenge by oxysoft 2014-09-06T19:41:00

The link seems to be down for me. I might check back later, this game seems interesting.

Interplanetary Messengers by DragonMaster21 2014-09-06T20:16:00

Worked for me on OS X. I think the idea is good with a lot of potential, but the game is far too slow. I managed to get to planet 4 to sell a couple things (took me a long time to get there, though) but that still wasn't enough to buy any upgrades. Since the ship was so slow to maneuver, I then got killed en route to the next planet by an asteroid that I couldn't avoid. That led to me not having enough time to get to another planet before they got mad and I got a game over. I think all of this could be fixed by simply making the ship faster - both in turning speed and thrust.

Other than that, I think the graphics and audio were really good - I especially liked the particle effects on the destroyed ships.

Oooover the double rainbow (Baldaquin IV) by Marcellus 2014-08-28T19:32:00

Like the concept, though the game was a bit confusing. I didn't play very far since I kept dying to black holes when I switched worlds. A pity there weren't any checkpoints...

As I understand it, each stripe of the rainbow represents an alternate platform world - as some advice, it might be better to only make a few stripes available at a time so the player has an easier time understanding (and this way you can make each stripe have its own platform level without things getting too confusing!) For example, block all but two stripes to begin with and then slowly make more available as you progress. The shooter segment is also really interesting how it exists to get blocks for the others, which is a really cool idea! It's a pity then that the action RPG bit is a little bit underdeveloped. What I'd like to have seen there is some form of mechanic to help the shooter segment - like you get powerups/"options" for the shooter segment when you kill monsters in the top-down segment.

Just my thoughts - as I said, I didn't play very far, so they may not apply depending on what happens later in the game. Either way, taking on essentially three radically different games at the same time for a 48 hour competition takes some guts, and even if it probably isn't everything you were planning you still got it working and out the door on time. I'd definitely have to say bravo to that. :)

Come Creatures, Come pls by okmmjyygv 2014-09-02T19:17:00

Simple little game with a cute idea. Wrangling all those animals got a bit frustrating sometimes, but I managed in the end and got bronze.

Capsule by PaperBlurt 2014-08-27T18:50:00

Great story with a fantastic mood. I was pleasantly surprised by all the little touches on the text and background. It really helped with immersion. Nicely done!

Twist And Weave by ZeppelinCaptain 2014-09-14T08:43:00

I liked this game - graphics and audio were simple, clear and clean and the gameplay was challenging without being too difficult. Except that last level...

Robot Smuggler by DvigubaiPiktas 2014-08-29T20:56:00

Pretty cool! The music sets a nice western mood, and the small amount of life you had forced you to be careful and take cover so that encounters often became short shootouts.

Connected Worlds : New world by archaeometrician 2014-08-27T17:38:00

I was surprised by the cloth physics, but not by the enemy movements. You should probably spawn them more randomly distributed - as it was, I could just sit back and hail french fury all over the enemy's face.

Considering how advanced the opening screen looked compared to what was actually in the game, I'm guessing that you didn't really get what you aimed for in time and scaled down. Better luck next time!

Celestial Impact by Boodog 2014-08-27T17:58:00

Jump physics were a bit difficult to work with, but I know physics in games can be a pain to work with at all without some kind of physics engine/library to do things for you. Either way a quick, simple affair. It could've used a bit of polish to make each world more distinct, and maybe some stuff like falling blocks (or maybe I should be careful what I wish for? ; P)

The Orion Trial by jcsirron 2014-09-14T09:53:00

Pretty funny, but I would've liked to see some more encounters that give you choices and less encounters that instantly kill you.

CheckPoint by DanqueDynasty 2014-09-14T16:30:00

A challenging game with a pretty arcadey feel. Since there weren't any instructions, it took me a round before I realized what I was supposed to be doing. The music was okay, but I didn't really think it fit with the game that well. It would probably work better with something that pumped you up and got you "in the zone" of finding and shooting down the red ships.

Jessie and Jack by rnlf 2014-08-29T20:14:00

Sorry, but the controls make it incredibly difficult to play on my Macbook. The Ctrl key is used for a couple of shortcuts, so if I hold it while pressing up or left on the arrow keys I'm instantly brought out of the game.

Other than that it was a pretty cool game while it lasted, and I liked how crazy the upgraded gun got. It felt really satisfying to fire that thing!

Cat planet by lorniebear 2014-08-28T19:13:00

Aw, this is just the cutest! Really love the hand-drawn art, it makes it feel like a storybook. And I think you've gotten a lot better at game-making too - you say that you didn't have as much time as you wanted, but you still fit three completely different mini-games in there! Great job! :)

Connect-the-worlds by gatinmnsok 2014-09-07T10:37:00

Fast-paced puzzle game that's surprisingly fun. I think however that the newly spawned worlds should be easier to spot - maybe blink or pulse for a second or two after being created so that the limited time can be spent trying to find a good planet nearby.

Untangle~! by Konrad Zegis 2014-09-14T08:25:00

Good old Allegro, huh. Remember using that back in my university days.

The game is really short, but I think its biggest drawback is that the movement is pretty laggy. Looks like things move on a tile-by-tile basis rather than pixels, which makes it choppy. But the first game I ever made with Allegro was about the same, so I can't hold that against you. :)

I liked the idea of closing connections, though. Hope to see you in future LDs!

The Theft of Purpose by gaarlicbread 2014-09-13T09:41:00

Runs without a hitch on my Macbook. The game was a bit trial and error for me - I simply picked crystals from the other world at random and then brought them to the proper pedestal if the colors matched. Dunno if there was more to it than that. It was a nice, quick and clean little thing anyway, so I don't really have any complaints. Really cute sound effects. :)

Labyrinth Challenge by Green Lightning 2014-09-07T13:03:00

Really polished and smooth graphics! Maze games aren't really my thing, but I can appreciate that this is a pretty good effort for a 48-hour game, considering the mazes are procedurally generated.

Teleporter Escape! by kyru 2014-09-06T18:52:00

Got really hard once those ranged guys got started. Pretty cool rogue-like-ish game, but probably a bit too difficult for me. : )

Spaceway Transportation by CodeNMore 2014-09-06T19:07:00

This game was pretty fun, though it felt a bit unfair that the enemy ships could ignore the asteroids. Dunno how the company would feel about me getting more passengers killed than the ones I successfully shipped over. ; )

Viewpoint Twins by davidcollado 2014-09-07T10:29:00

I love the entries like this one; mixing two or more genres and each of the separate games affect the other ones is something I can't help but find interesting. And of those that I've played, this is easily the best! The sound and graphics are awesome and the gameplay is tricky but fun, and on the whole quite clever. A great entry!

Untitled World Game by jovoc 2014-09-13T09:47:00

What's there is really polished, and I think the gameplay idea is pretty interesting. The graphic design is really clean and stylish, I like it a lot. :) This could probably be something if you worked a bit more on it.

Rubber Slimes by JangoBrick 2014-08-26T18:31:00

Really cool idea, but a bit too hard for me. And for your first shot at music, the track wasn't that bad!

Space Explorer by Rock48 2014-09-06T20:31:00

Not much game, but the graphics were really polished with lots of cool little details, and I liked the music as well.

Sneaky Nessie by barryrowe 2014-09-02T17:56:00

Cute, funny and clever! I don't know what manner of mind takes "Connected Worlds" and comes up with sending Nessie on a stroll through Scotland in search of a UFO, but I'm not complaining. One of the funnier entries I've seen, good job.

Back and forth by ccglp 2014-08-30T10:00:00

Got some problems running it on my Macbook - the screen shows for a split second, then somehow the graphics all bug out. Looks like The screen is abnormally zoomed in or something - if I move back and forth every now and then about half of the screen is covered by a moving rectangle. Guessing it's some kind of display problem for OS X.

The Triplets by chowee 2014-09-07T16:37:00

Short, fun and I must express how much I really really like this particular take on the theme. Great minds think alike, possibly? :D

My only criticism is that the random bullets might not be the best way to create difficulty here, since it's not entirely uncommon that they screw you over repeatedly as you try to jump one of the gaps. Maybe make the bullets a bit slower, and make it possible to jump on top of bullets à la Mario so they can be used as a tool as well as an obstacle? Here's hoping to see you in future LDs. ; )

Disconnected Keyboard by Aomeas 2014-09-07T11:32:00

I like this - it's a really neat idea with some seriously tricky gameplay. And this is a take on the theme I definitely haven't seen before, which is always a nice plus. Good job! : )

Parallel by ahmedmohi 2014-08-27T17:29:00

Aside from the occasionally inverted controls, I thought it was a pretty good game. While it started easy, eventually it required a lot of thought. Good job!

Lady Lyla by whalebot 2014-09-14T09:20:00

Cute and sad. Really loved how it connected to the theme, and the game oozed personality. Like many said before me, this only needed some audio. The post-compo version really nailed it. :)

> Continue by ratking 2014-08-29T21:38:00

Pretty neat. Not a whole lot of "game", but I like the experimental feel of it, and it certainly fits the theme.

InterVersal by micdoodle8 2014-09-02T19:28:00

I really liked this one. The puzzles were clever, and the graphics were great! I liked the animations on the characters and especially the light effects. Nice fitting in so many levels as well. One of my favorites this LD! : )

Dimensions Reality by Gandalf1209 2014-09-07T10:10:00

The teleporters were really nutty. After playing a few levels poor Mr. Potato got stuck inside some horrid World In-Between were he was doomed to view the dimensions he was used to traversing, warping from one viewpoint to another and back again in the blink of an eye whilst listening to the sound of a teleporter absolutely spazzing out. Forever.

But that was pretty fun, too. And while it wasn't all that hard, it's a pretty decent concept for a puzzle game.

Grave Gravity by Jaenis 2014-08-26T19:11:00

I really liked this game! Aiming through all the messed up gravity was far from an easy task, but it was a fun challenge. Really nice take on the theme, good job!

The Thing Between Two Worlds by Galdon 2014-09-07T10:19:00

Short, sweet and funny. Liked the dialogue and narration, especially after beating the fake boss.

Galaxy Conquest 3000 by talecrafter 2014-09-07T11:07:00

This was a terrific puzzle game! The AI was hard enough to make every little step of attrition feel like a small victory, and I did feel really clever the first time I lured it into a trap that allowed me to grab great swaths of land by completely encircling enemy territories. Great job, great game!

WorldWar of Connectidia by Goutye 2014-08-26T18:47:00

the idea was cool, but I didn't really understand what I was supposed to do. It might have been covered in the tutorial, but by the time I was getting into the game I'd already forgotten it. Spent most of the time just sitting by the castle and killing everything that approached and clicking the symbols on the top whenever I had a worker free.

Where's Mummy? by LevieDAudio 2014-09-14T09:45:00

The graphics and music really set a great mood. The puzzles were pretty easy until the red level were I got stuck for a few minutes. Great job! :)

Stanley Squeaks and the Emerald Burrito by Two Scoop Games 2014-09-02T17:41:00

Really great idea for a puzzle platformer! Don't have many criticisms, just that the jumping sound is a bit too loud and that the time between grabbing the gem and the platforms being destroyed should be shorter to facilitate replayability. It's a minor thing, though - I had fun with your game. : )

eMERGEncy by wheelsx (StickyKittyGames) 2014-09-02T19:02:00

Fun game, though it got a bit irritating after the third or so time another vortex spawned on the other side of the map just as I reached the last one. Flows smoothly with good animations and a decent tune. A little tip would be not to raise the camera so much when the player jumps, since it makes it difficult to tell where the ground is and makes the platforming harder than it needs to be.

Into Orbit by DarkUser 2014-09-14T10:08:00

Cool idea, and it's really fun trying to fit as many planets as you can. Pretty addictive. :)

Graphics are polished, and I like the music and sound effects too. Overall it's a really great, arcadey entry.

Dwarf Portals by Barink-social 2014-09-07T11:35:00

Sorry, can't get the OS X binary to run...

Dimension Jumper! by German Kuznetsov 2014-09-07T13:51:00

Okay... good job getting this done in 48 hours, but this game is difficult to play, and not in the good sense of difficulty. There are a lot of details that could be fixed to make the experience better:
* I never got the shooting part to work. I pointed and clicked, but no one ever seemed to get shot.
* The enemies don't despawn when you die, meaning that if you die by your checkpoint, they'll camp out and kill you again when you come back.
* It seems as if clicking the portal doesn't always teleport you, according to rules I don't understand. Is there a cooldown? If so, it should be clearly visible to the player how long they have to wait before they can switch dimensions again.
* I lose half my life if I fall further than 3-4 blocks. This feels a bit unfair - especially around the end when you pretty much have to take a fall of this height to proceed.
* A minor gripe, but the font is pretty hard to read.

If these things were looked at, I think your game could be a lot better. If something strikes you as a possible bug, I ran your game with the latest Java 8 on OS X.

Neon Multiverse by maxrebo 2014-09-07T14:31:00

Cool game with slick graphics and interesting mechanics. I found fairly often that the controls were reversed when I reversed gravity, though.

Constellation by Aglavra 2014-09-02T16:43:00

Nice take on the theme, though the controls are difficult to work with. I never saw reason to use the lethal gun - maybe if you put in some situations where it would be a lot harder to get through by just stunning natives, or gave the player less life so you can't afford to be hit by someone waking up unexpectedly.

The one between the worlds by zdavid112z 2014-09-07T15:10:00

A nice take on the theme, though it's pretty hard. It feels like attacking enemies doesn't help a lot; they tend to gang up on you, you can't fight while moving and your hurtbox is big enough that you can't really harm the enemy and avoid being harmed yourself.

Lenore: Dark Days Ahead by Team Luminous 2014-09-07T16:46:00

That was surprisingly engrossing for a maze game... And I don't usually like maze games! The atmosphere was great, starting out pretty neutral but slowly swerving into creepy territory. I enjoyed the part where you had to avoid spiders by switching between the worlds as well.

The Purgatory by maad9 2014-09-07T15:14:00

Short game, but the graphics are wonderful and the mood is pretty heavy. Would've liked some sound to go with it. All in all really impressed you managed this in only 5 hours!

ShiftedTimelines by AgentEnder 2014-09-07T17:14:00

Works fine on OS X with love2d runtime. The physics were a bit floaty and slippery, but other than that it's a pretty decent little puzzle platformer. It was short, but you did hide a couple of the pickups in really clever places. Also, grats on your first LD! : )

Ninja-Zombie Apocalypse by Julian_Wodrazka 2014-08-26T18:57:00

I could play start to finish without trouble. Pretty cool for a first time LD entry! A pity it lacked sound, though. A tip is to use the website bfxr.net to generate some sound effects next time. It's quick and makes games feel more alive. : )

Inner Self by Cstudios 2014-09-07T09:52:00

Works for me on web for mac. It's very polished and very professional-looking, with awesome graphics and sound. Would've liked the cell stages to give more of an illusion of being able to do something, though - as it was it got a bit tedious having to play more and more cell stages knowing that there really was no point to it.

Harmony by LeftRight92 2014-09-14T16:41:00

Cool game, but too difficult for me. I tried to keep things balanced, but the minute the planets came into contact with each other they spammed so many rockets that the planets were entirely enveloped and the game lagged to a standstill. And then I lost. So I guess I shouldn't run for galactic president any time soon. :P

Planetshipper by ronaldm 2014-09-07T17:51:00

Pretty awesome for your first entry! I loved how silly the ship looked flying around with the grapple out.

This game could probably be added to - like making some planets moving in solar systems so you have to pick them out of their orbits, enemies that chase after you, and maybe other enemies that steal planets and run off with them so you have to give chase.

Anyways, congrats on finishing your first LD48, and best of luck with future entries. : )

Connection of the worlds by CyberNinja 2014-09-07T17:40:00

Tricky game, and a bit addictive. The main menu is really cool, and I like the attention to detail when it comes to the ship and, well, the graphics in general. Great job. : )

Shattered Realm by AncientAvocado 2014-09-07T17:19:00

Played it on OS X with love2D framework without a problem. Short but sweet, with cute graphics. Mechanics remind me a bit of Closure. Like how the enemies also only exist in certain light bubbles.

Permeable Connected Worlds by MyougaHiroshi 2014-09-14T17:02:00

Pretty spooky atmosphere. My major gripe with this one is that the game was so dark that I spent a couple minutes just bumbling around without knowing if I was walking into a wall or not.

Glue The World by shimage 2014-09-14T16:53:00

Very cool idea, and quite tricky at the later levels. One of the more interesting takes on the theme gameplay-wise! Really nice work. :)

Broken World by xWarZonex 2014-09-14T17:14:00

I liked how the squares were controlled and think you could do a lot of more cool things with it when it comes to level design. The little text in-between levels was nice, but personally I'd rather the game just immediately jump to the next level without pausing the music. That way I'd get a feeling of progression without being "taken out of the game", which I think helps a lot with the mood and with immersion.

Incursion by AccountNo17 2014-09-14T17:35:00

The alien amount seems to ramp really quickly, so it's hard to stay alive for more than one and a half minutes... But my best was 130 seconds, with 67 kills. I'd like to think that was pretty okay. :)

My only gripe is that I'd like the weapon selection to be on something other than mouse scroll, since I'm on a laptop.

Humanity VS Samuel by ebolbe 2014-09-14T17:19:00

Pretty funny sound effects, though I'm not sure if you're able to lose? By the end the enemies came at you so fast that it was literally impossible to evade them, so I just sat down in a corner were there didn't seem to spawn that many and just plowed through the ones that came by. And aside from more funny sound effects, nothing really seemed to happen when I hit one.

Midspace Madness by kmasiulis 2014-09-14T17:25:00

It was fun when you got a real fast streak going, but it felt pretty random seeing how it most of the time was almost impossible to predict where asteroids were going to appear. Either way nice to see a racing game in LD!

Connected Worlds by ajayajayaj 2014-09-14T17:40:00

The mechanics are great for a puzzle game. I'd loved to have seen more levels, but time is a precious commodity during LD and I understand if you didn't have enough of it.

Stock Exchange by ded 2014-09-14T18:50:00

Interesting and cool take on the theme. And yes, I like the graphs too. I like the graphics overall, but there's something special with watching your $1 purchases soar to $110 in red pixels. :)

The Guy Who Lost His Arms by Quetzakol 2014-09-14T08:16:00

Pretty cool little platform game! The audio levels were a bit unbalanced, the music being far too quiet compared to the sound effects. But the game was fun and about the right length.

Mirror Worlds by malf 2014-08-30T09:53:00

I really liked this game! The graphics were nice, clean and old school, and the levels were pretty clever and just puzzly enough. Really excellent work! : )

Dependant by Abominas 2014-09-14T17:57:00

Okay, this game has some potential but it's really frustrating to play. The character starts moving so fast the moment I press any of the movement keys that it's really easy to overshoot and fall off edges at any time, and the combat has a lot of problems.

One: the character doesn't turn around until you've taken a few steps in any given direction, meaning that when the enemy inevitably teleports behind you, you can't instantly change direction and fight.

Two: when being hit, you change your direction. Combined with the first point, this means that every time you get hit you have to move a decent length before being able to fire back - during which time you could get hit again and waste even more time and life.

Three: Combined with one and two, the enemies have a decent amount of health that gets to be a pain to deal with since you have so few opportunities to harm them.

Four: Combined with all of the above points, the enemies teleport, meaning that once you finally get into position, they might already be behind you.

Other than that, the graphics are clean and polished, but I'm afraid I couldn't play your game for very long because of the combat. If that was fixed, your game could turn out to be really great.

A letter for God by bluesky 2014-09-07T16:55:00

Lovely art and music. The results of the choices felt a bit arbitrary - some of them were considered 'bad' by the game when they just as well could be considered 'good' or 'neutral'. Either way I had fun with it for the short while it lasted.

Lucid by fisholith 2014-09-13T09:59:00

The camera and the physics felt a bit floaty, leading me to drop off cliffs frustratingly often on the second dream level, but other than that this game is awesome. The graphical design is crazy detailed, stylish, well, beautiful even! Really digged the song too. You might have something on your hands here. :)

Dimensional Leak by Blizzard Muffin 2014-09-07T09:57:00

Pretty good for a first entry, and I liked the graphics and intro cutscene. Quick and simple and not too long. The sound effect when unmerging the worlds was a bit loud...

Planet Bouncer by TimtheBo 2014-09-07T14:07:00

Fun, fast-paced bouncy action! And a lot harder than it looks. This is really cool for your first entry, great job! :D

Faction Wars by ra4king 2014-09-07T09:39:00

I really liked this game, but would've found it more fun if the AI could put up more of a fight. As it was they only stole two or three of my planets throughout the whole game, and each time they left their vessel on their ill-gotten gains for the gaping maws of my nearby fleet to instantly come and wipe them out. But this could very well become something really awesome with some more time and effort put in! Good work! : )

StarShrimp Trooper by 01101101 2014-08-28T19:45:00

The sound and graphics are amazing! I liked the pretty unique take on the theme (and that intro cutscene...) The gameplay was a bit random and difficult, but fun for a short while. My favorite part might have been getting stuck inside of an enemy for around thirty seconds straight on the second to last level. ; )

Connected Worlds by Dry Tree 2014-08-29T20:48:00

Even if not all of the game is there, it's still pretty fun just flying around, if only for a while. I couldn't really get into the trading for long since nothing really happened en route.

Balance by miwuc 2014-08-27T18:34:00

This is a really cool idea, and feels pretty polished! I couldn't really make it to the end, though. I got too confident once the rabbits and trees began covering the surface in their spawn.

...But dropping the poor buggers off the face of the earth for energy was strangely cathartic.

Bacon Installer by badlydrawnrod 2014-08-28T18:51:00

Short but hilarious. Liked the old school graphics, though it took a minute to get used to the parallax effect the moment you start moving. Nice job on that, btw! Really appreciated the pig mechanics, too - I was very surprised the first time I lowered my ship too far and smooshed one to the ground. And that time I tried to avoid a helicopter and accidentally made some pork chops on its rotor. It really is the little details that make a game sometimes! : )

DINO BOLT by GeorgeBroussard 2014-08-29T21:30:00

Short, fun and a little addictive. The polish does a whole lot for it - even though I should feel bad I can't help but smile each time I accidentally bump into an obstacle pretty much right at the start and my companion goes flying.

IN BETWEEN by Simon 2014-09-02T18:04:00

A cool idea, even if it was hard to understand what exactly I was supposed to do. I just put three monoliths up top and three at the bottom and that was pretty much it.

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Color Commander by kristof 2015-05-01T07:42:00

Cool idea. It's deceptively simple, but requires some strategic thinking to prevent your opponents from stealing all of your units. My only complaint is that I would've liked a button for quick restart, since it's possible to become impossibly outmatched without losing completely.

Dislocator by arhpositive 2015-05-09T19:15:00

Interesting idea, but I must confess it wasn't really my cup of tea. The longer I played the more I wished I could just shoot them all down... I guess me and the pacifist main character just aren't a good match for each other, eh?

Zombie dinner by goerp 2015-05-01T07:34:00

Full marks for humor! This idea is ludicrous and absolutely awesome. The characters were great as well - one of the best game over screens I've certainly seen. :)

The gameplay was simple and became a cakewalk (rimshot) once I'd played for a couple of minutes. A fun, short game.

Ay Pinatas! by jprogman 2015-05-09T18:35:00

Really enjoyable! The mechanics are solid, the graphics are polished enough to honestly surprise me. The only thing really missing from this is audio, but I can see that it would've been a bit much to cram that in there in addition.

I didn't realize at first what candies and checkpoints did, but I guess that's my fault for skimming over your game description. ^^'

Dueling Time, Sir! by HybridMind 2015-05-10T09:53:00

Really good job on the presentation. The graphics and audio are top-notch... and the writing is delightful!

It might be a sign of how used to strange things I am that I didn't even bat an eye to the weird weapon choices. I didn't figure out how the game related to the theme until the moment I started writing this comment.

Game Over [MY DEAD BODY] by frogcheese 2015-04-20T18:43:00

@SuperPokeunicorn Thanks for the heads up. I didn't even realize it was big. :)

I'm using .ogg in this case because MP3s due to their nature have built-in delay at the start and end of a song. From my experience LibGDX can't handle this well when looping music, producing a noticeable gap - at least with the MP3 encoder I use. It's true that the .ogg file is much larger than it needs to be though, so I've compressed it to less than half its size.

Baldaquin 6 - Beyond the window by Marcellus 2015-05-10T10:01:00

Great idea, but the mechanics are a bit wonky. Steering the clouds to where you want them is extremely difficult, so a lot of the game was spent bouncing a few clouds back and forth and trying to get them to combine with each other while they went off in completely unexpected directions.

Either way a nice take on the theme.

Mad Maddie by Boodog 2015-05-10T09:27:00

Funny story and surprisingly challenging game. The music is pretty fitting for the stressed dog-destroying shenanigans as well.

I appreciate that you put in a dedicated tongue button. : )

Bubbles by thaaks 2015-05-10T09:42:00

I really liked this one! The mechanics are solid and easy to get into, the graphics are clean and fairly polished. I love the sound effects as well. :)

One thing to note though is that the checkpoints don't really matter much since all the enemies get uncharmed when you die. Maybe keep track of the enemies you charmed in the checkpoints, or alternatively make the levels smaller and more compact so that they're not needed to begin with?

Light'em Up by CodeNMore 2015-05-10T08:56:00

Pretty cool little game. I found it fully playable - didn't find any funky problems on my end. One immediate improvement I can think of is that I believe the game would feel better if the enemies were weaker, but there were more of them. The laser was kind of unsatisfying to use since it took so long to take foes down.

The true Weapon by ccglp 2015-04-26T13:21:00

The mood was good, and it's cool that you've implemented multiple endings. My major issue with this game though is that it's based a lot on trial and error. An example is having to approach and talk to a character that's continually shooting missiles at you in a random pattern. I had to try that one several times before I could do it without dying and it was basically about luck.

Other than that I think it's a good job for a 48-hour jam. :)

Uprooted - a carrot simulator by Two Scoop Games 2015-05-01T07:49:00

I really liked this game. The limited horizontal view and long horizontal jump meant you had to be really careful about your jumps so you didn't fall into a hole, but that's my one complaint. The music was jolly, the graphics were great and the idea itself is really funny. Also, I can't say no to a bouncing carrot fighting treadmilling rabbits.

Sheep by Cstudios 2015-05-10T09:11:00

It's an interesting game for sure, but it's a bit too difficult to play. The concept of giving your robot instructions is easy to get into - the problem here is that there's no way of knowing or figuring out what instructions to give beforehand. Essentially it becomes a game of trial-and-error, where you give enough instructions to get the robot far enough to get a view of the next part of the level. Then, you redo the same instructions again and input additional instructions for the next part.

This game would really benefit from giving the player a way to move their view around the level, or making the length of movements a bit more obvious. That way the player can plan things out more. Alternatively, try to design levels that fit in one screen.

Other than than I found both the graphics and audio to be really impressive. With a bit of polish on the mechanics this could become something special. :)

Give me that! by Kaijuu 2015-05-01T07:24:00

Really good idea with some really sweet graphics. The controls and hitboxes could use some improvement. With more polish this could become a really cool game!

Pong Tank by kirbytails7 2015-05-10T09:19:00

I really like this concept. Wrapping my head around the controls was a bit difficult, though. I believe this game would benefit greatly if you could control the paddles in both directions. As it is now, I might nudge one paddle a bit too far and then there's no chance of me catching the pong ball anymore because I need to loop the entire way around.

Eurovision: world domination through the power of song by Tijn 2015-04-26T13:53:00

Okay, this is just simply amazing. The songs were all awesome, the graphics were clean, and as an inhabitant as someone who has read one or two newspapers trying to rationalize why Sweden and our neighboring countries always give each other good scores in Eurovision I found this to be absolutely hilarious.

The only downside was that I didn't get to play as Sweden and receive all those delicious 12-pointers from the rest of Scandinavia because of our "similar taste in music." So this time I picked Switzerland. That's the country we always get confused with anyway. :P

Seamus' Gun by 01101101 2015-05-10T10:09:00

Fantastic entry! The audio and graphics are really awesome, and the game is pretty fun too! This is pretty polished as is, so really the only improvement I can suggest is more levels.

Home Alone 4 by saturdaymorning 2015-04-26T12:47:00

Cute art style and mood, reminds me of Charlie Brown. I think it's a nice take on the theme. There's not a lot of game to it, but I found it fun and finished it before I had time to get bored of the concept. One thing I would have liked a bit more is for the graphics to more clearly display what was a wall vs. what was an entrance to another room.

Cornflake Ninja by badlydrawnrod 2015-04-26T13:07:00

Pretty humorous entry. It's ironic that the CRAPI suits' one weakness would be the same thing they're dedicated to sugar-coating... cereal.

Gameplay-wise I would've liked a key mapped for quick retries. I died a lot at the start, and since this game is played with the keyboard it was a bit uncomfortable to move to my touchpad each time I had to restart. The rest of the gameplay was short but sweet (rimshot)

I agree with the earlier opinion that the jumping physics made the game feel a little cramped vertically. Speaking of; I think the game might be improved by navigating three floors rather than two. This would give the player some more choices (and more opportunities to screw themselves over!)

The Landscape Processor by Simon 2015-05-01T07:56:00

Not much game in this. I did like the graphics and sound, though. I think the idea has some merit as well if you change it around a little. For example, have a landscape passing by outside and let the player pick one or two parts of the landscape to travel along and destroy the other pieces for points.

LD33 — You are the Monster

Eat Ships and Thrive by frogcheese 2015-08-25T04:30:00

@TwixtorTitan Thank you! It's a pretty simple game, so it only spawns enemies for you to kill indefinitely. The goal is just to raise your high score until you die, but I think I might've made the enemies a bit weak.

13th Labor by 6DownStudios 2015-09-07T18:09:00

Really great graphics and nice sound. I like the idea too - too bad that you didn't have time to finish Iolaus. It seems Herc and the Hydra are doomed to battle until the end of time. Actually, that sounds like it could make for a good myth now that I think about it?

I hope you do make a post-jam version of this, even if you decide not to add that many features. I just really like the idea of playing as the Hydra.

Suicidio Bombardiere by TwixtorTitan 2015-09-07T18:03:00

The scoring doesn't seem to work properly and the controls are a bit finicky... and personally, the subject matter might be a little bit too real for me. Nonetheless, funny sound effects and a nice touch of having "Save Innocents" be the quit button!

Last Chance For Bernie by Tijn 2015-09-07T18:21:00

An off-brand Goomba simulator, awesome! Surprisingly challenging, but I managed to get up to 12 points. The initial position you choose pretty much determines how that particular encounter goes. Cool music too! I loved your entry last time around as well (showed it off to some of my family, we had a good laugh about it!)

Think I'm gonna keep an eye out if you participate in future jams. Great job!

LD35 — Shapeshift

The ShapeShifter by S0rax 2016-05-09T20:18:00

Nice idea for a runner, though the wonky hit detection on edges made it difficult to play.

The Bear in the Light by MrPhil 2016-05-08T20:10:00

Cool idea. The spastic behaviour of the "were-bear" is pretty hilarious to behold. Just wish there were ways to control its random flailing!

The Tale of Lapkovius by ziege 2016-05-01T10:02:00

Great puzzle stealth game! I liked the audio and the graphics, they somehow fit well together. Took me a little while to wrap my head around the mechanics, but that felt like a part of the puzzle for me!

Shape Thief by frogcheese 2016-04-18T18:38:00

@qu2 Thanks for the input! I don't use Windows very often, so I forget things like this... I'll rebind the default value.

Feather by runvs 2016-05-01T14:24:00

The atmosphere and polish on this was really good. The writing could be touched up a little but overall my only disappointment here is that the story ended so quickly...

I didn't totally get the link to the theme since it was only hinted at in the end, would've been nice to find out more of what exactly transpired there.

ShapeShifter by tGiant 2016-05-08T19:57:00

A great game. I liked the clean graphics, and I think the time limit helped make it a bit more interesting than just another gravity shifting game. I like that you aren't able to move much outside of gravity shifting, makes each level a puzzle.

Sheep Shift by CodeNMore 2016-05-01T15:16:00

Simple and fun, with a surprising amount of polish. All the myriad ways the "bad sheep" take a dive and the water physics when they hit the surface is hilarious!

Particle Shift by ccglp 2016-05-01T10:26:00

The controls were a bit clunky for me. I didn't get very far into the first game either since I kept dying in the tutorial for "two are better than one" without really realising why I died. The camera pans were cool, but I think you could've done without the fadeouts after each completed task.

In any case I liked the audio, and the endless runner was fun to play with.

Shifting Dungeons by danielilett 2016-05-08T19:46:00

Really nice graphics! The time mechanic was pretty cool but I sadly never found any powerups. The enemies never seemed to die either, so I mostly ran around trying to find the exit while dodging enemy fire.

Barber Blues by Tijn 2016-05-01T08:59:00

This game is fantastic. Love the interpretation of the theme. The audio is great - not only the music, but special mention to the electric razor as well!

Swarm Blast by 01101101 2016-05-01T09:07:00

It's fun and gets surprisingly frantic really fast. I like the effects, too. My only issue is that I couldn't get Chrome to stop reading my inputs as scrolling, so whenever I moved about the field my browser would wig out and cut part of the screen. Tried clicking the game, but this time it didn't help.

The man that changed into a plant. by Digitaldude555 2016-05-01T09:51:00

A pretty nice, simple stealth game. Had to back out of the game to figure out how to climb the stairs. Would've been good if the UP arrow also worked, since I automatically started using the arrow keys and found that they worked.

I found it really funny that there were "people plants" like yourself in the last room. Maybe some other spies had gone and found that they enjoyed just sitting around and being watered?

Great ending, btw. :)

Stakkers by Slord6 2016-05-08T18:21:00

Really cool idea! I don't know if the win/lose logic worked correctly, seeing as how the game said I won a lot of the times when some of the shapes got swept away by the wall. Most of the time I could also use any shape to get through, so I didn't get much use out of the switching mechanic.

Still, a competent puzzle game with a nice tune to it. Oh, and a pretty clever start screen. :)

Werewolves by miwuc 2016-05-01T10:33:00

Nice, polished memory game. It got hard really, really fast! I found that Waldo more often than not was a despicable creature of the night. I always knew...

Shifting Winds by Kelpow 2016-05-09T20:39:00

The controls were a bit finicky at first, but once I got into the swing of things I found it pretty enjoyable. The environments and birds were all gorgeous!

The Last Werewolf by Addidy 2016-05-09T20:00:00

Nicely done! I was impressed on my second try when I finally noticed that the civilians run for the buildings and hide inside.

Target Microglial by Ristoretto 2016-05-01T10:13:00

A solid, challenging game. Would've personally liked to have a checkpoint once you got past the first level since I wasn't very good at it... It wasn't really clear to me either that you can roll on top of the flat red/blue things - I thought that simply touching them was enough to kill you until I came to the second level.

Other than that, it's really a cool runner game with good audio and stylish graphics. Great job!

Space supplies by TinoR 2016-05-08T20:02:00

It's a good basis for a game, at least. I figure you could easily do "find x of y" with something like this. Giving the bird some flying mechanics and then switching between flying creature and ground creature - I think that could be interesting.

Helium-4 by mountainstorm 2016-05-01T09:42:00

A cool idea, with some nice audio to it. Pretty difficult getting those atoms to where you want 'em, but it was fun.

ShapeShifter by furyan 2016-05-09T20:09:00

Really nice animations. I liked the different characters, but found that the wizard was way overpowered (or the other two were just underpowered?) A shame, because I really liked the animation on the cowboy...

Plato and the 'Caves by qu2 2016-05-01T09:27:00

I like the idea with switching between characters in a roguelike, though I found that I mostly used Oedipus and switched to Hera if I got cornered.

Took me an embarrassing while to get the joke with 'Vex and 'Caves...

ShapeShiftSaurus Rex by rhastapunk 2016-05-01T14:15:00

Awesome! Really cute sound and graphics. Switching between all the forms was challenging, especially when the skater dinosaurs came in. They were way too fast for me!

Nevermore by UncleGubbsy 2016-05-08T18:31:00

A nice find-the-object game, though it was a bit buggy for me. I had to restart since I got stuck on geometry as a bird, and then at one point I suddenly dropped out of the world as the boy.

Isometric Epilepsy by Isometric Epilepsy 2016-05-09T20:31:00

Really cool presentation, and an interesting idea for a puzzle game. Some of the level made some interesting use of the isometric perspective. Most of the levels were way too difficult for me, though! :)

The Seasons Processor by Simon 2016-05-01T10:46:00

A cool idea with playing the game by messing with the files, but I never really figured it out. I just entered in some random numbers until I got bored, didn't really see any sign of progress.

Played it on OSX, seems to work fine except that the season file is created inside of the app package rather than in the same folder as the app.

CastleMania by SuperPokeunicorn 2016-05-01T08:47:00

Good castlevania demake! It really had a similar feel. I liked the clean graphics, and the small death and level complete jingles were a nice touch.

LD38 — A Small World

Petri Dish by wowods 2017-05-18T19:00:30Z

Good minimalistic game! Graphics were very clear, if simple, and made it feel a bit like an old title from the NES era. I liked having the power to control player upgrades in-between levels, too. I had an issue though with level 3, where it seems as if there's one green bacteria missing. The game says there's one left, but no green ones remain.

Trees by ghust1995 2017-05-17T19:47:10Z

A quick, fun experience! There was a bit of slow-down for me, but for the most part everything was fine. The lumberjacks weren't all that useful since I upgraded my chopping and running speeds first, but just having some people and houses to populate the world did a lot to make it feel alive. I quit after managing to get the growth ray - seeing all the stats and items go back to their first levels was a bit of a let-down. It was a pretty natural end to the game, but if you ever feel like expanding on this: let the player keep their hard-earned abilities when they start a "new world" in this way. That way it feels like a natural progression all throughout, rather than starting over. Well, in this case the game then needs to offer new abilities, buildings and such for the player to use for each stage. So, not exactly viable in a game jam.

Still, I had fun with this game. Well done!

Fog and Glass by Alex bezuska 2017-05-19T18:22:26Z

Feels a lot like the opening to a text-based story game! Interesting is the word many used, and I agree. The backing audio helps a whole lot with the atmosphere, as did the glass ball time-lapse thing. Well done!

Shiny Fiesta by Aredhele 2017-05-18T19:37:25Z

Really atmospheric! Both graphics and audio were great, the music especially put me in a farming mood... My one criticism is that there was never really any reason to have more than one plant going at a time. Given that plants grow by manually adding water, which can seemingly only be done to one plant at a time, the best way to quickly get seeds I could see was to get one plant at a time, water it, then start on another one.

One suggestion might be to remove the need to water plants and have them grow automatically over time instead. Then, make the acid cloud faster. This way the player has to protect their plantation properly while they wait for the plants to grow. This also makes having many plants the most efficient way to play the game, so it becomes more natural for players to build a large farm and then start stressing out about having to protect all of it.

Other than that, really great job!

One minor thing - was this made for an AZERTY keyboard? You said that 'Z' was the action key, but on my QWERTY the action key turned out to be 'W'.

GeoFeeder by radiolemon 2017-05-18T18:35:30Z

I really like the idea of this game, but sadly the controls consistently stop working after a few seconds of playing and the game starts ignoring all of input. Played it on macOS.

Honey Home by dvdfu 2017-05-19T17:52:49Z

This is a really, really great entry. The graphics are amazing, the audio is nice and athmospheric, and the game is really simple to understand but still challenging. I can't think of any criticisms. Great job!

Super Kaiju Dunk City by emarcotte 2017-05-07T09:45:35Z

Really fantastic quality on this one! Graphics are great, but the sound is where it's really at. Dunking the city to kingdom come in beat to the music was a lot of fun! Keeping track of five different keys for a rhythm game is a bit over my level, though. I managed the first two levels fine but had no chance at all on level 3. Really great job on the music, whoever did that should feel proud!

grO by loadsofmana 2017-05-18T20:54:56Z

Mac version works fine!

As far as farming games go, this is definitely the best one I've played this LD. This game has so many cool options! After building several self-farming corn patches I ended up building a few levels for growing mushrooms in the dark. Then I ended up building a ladder to outer space and managed to get the sun and moon stuck on it. Hilarious stuff...

The one criticism I have is that the money indicator is a bit difficult to see against the background. I'd suggest making the text white.

Cell Out! by frogcheese 2017-04-24T18:35:36Z

There we go! WebGL build will be forthcoming within a day or two. For now, a well-deserved rest is in order, I think.

Cell Out! by frogcheese 2017-04-25T16:48:39Z

WebGL is live!

Mighty Maruto And The Small Worlds by TheMightyTeam 2017-05-18T20:07:48Z

I have to confess I'm not sure how this game connects to the theme...

The game is easy enough to understand, but the player sprite seems to be a bit misplaced so it's often hard to tell where the player is actually standing in relation to the enemies. On one of the levels, this leads to the player appearing to stand half inside the bottom wall when they are on the bottom-most tile.

I'd have preferred if the player movement was a bit smoother than the current tile-by-tile style. But well, it can't be helped if you were busy porting a library. Which is pretty cool in and of itself, so I'll just add a star for that. Well done getting this far despite the time constraints!

Octopus by nuberugames 2017-05-18T19:54:33Z

The download link doesn't work for me... says the file isn't available.

Acruela by Karash 2017-05-18T18:36:50Z

The link you provided leads nowhere, sadly... I can't see the game on your itch page either. Did you forget to publish it, or take it down?

King of Hearts. by Scott Gibbs 2017-05-18T19:52:42Z

It was a pretty short but sweet experience. The controls were a bit floaty, and sometimes it was hard to tell whether I hit something or not. My biggest criticism is that the arrow enemies attack instantly when a level loads, giving me no time to dodge - it would be better to give the player time to react to their presence, I think. Still, pretty cool what you managed to achieve! The graphics were impressively detailed and the boss even had a rockin' tune to fight by. :)

Ghostscaling by STUDIOCRAFTapps Developpement 2017-05-19T17:44:01Z

I really like the idea, and the graphics were really great! I noticed you even added a pixellated dust cloud for the fireballs! I do have some criticisms though:

The physics were a bit slippery. What I mean by this is the block physics, specifically: when I tried to jump onto a ledge and held right for too long, the block ended up bouncing onto the ledge and going across it at super speed to the point that I hit a spike before even having time to react. I also think the spikes were a bit too hard to see. It would probably be a bit better if they had a stronger color that stood out more from the background.

I didn't manage to make it through the first level. I figured I had to use the small block on the left to jump onto the right ledge, but I only managed to get up there once out of every ten tries, most of which ended in me rocketing off straight into a spike. I tried using the large block as a stepping stone, but when I exited the block I ended up pushing it around to much and couldn't get it into the right place.

Overall I think this game has a lot of merit - the only real trouble is some physics stuff that I think could be ironed out if you'd had more time to repeatedly test and adjust it.

The Tiny World We Live In. by steven-pinto 2017-05-18T18:49:56Z

Really good art and audio, the town felt pretty alive. Kind of felt bad for the guy for working 40 years in the same place even though he confessed he didn't like the job. I'm afraid I missed the ending text though, the game just skipped past it and then got stuck on the bedroom screen.

Overall a great job!

Atomic Runner by Jason Lothamer 2017-05-18T18:11:14Z

It's an interesting idea, but might be a bit easy. The 'gravitational field' around the atoms was pretty hard to miss. I think another improvement could also be to make it so that you can only visit each atom once - after that, they remain but you get a game over if you hit them. That way it'd become a bit more of a puzzle, figuring out in which order to go and having to make difficult shots to get past atoms you've previously visited.

All in all, a perfectly respectable entry. Graphics and audio gave it a pretty good atmosphere and I think really gave it a good "microscopic world" ambience.

Beyond the Deep by yojammerjammer 2017-05-19T18:38:40Z

Great artwork and some fun writing. The 'plot twist' was really interesting! My one criticism is that it's often times difficult to figure out who is talking. I'd suggest showing the princess' portrait only when she's speaking and hiding it when someone else speaks. Alternatively, make her portrait greyed out when someone else is speaking.

Ant Survival by The_Miner 2017-05-18T18:28:16Z

This reminded me a lot of pac-man, except the "ghosts" move through walls - which is a scary though... I really liked the idea of switching up the stats of your ant after every level, but the enemy was a bit too easy to avoid for most of them. It just built up so much momentum that it kept rocketing all over the place and missing me by miles, since it couldn't turn quick enough. Also, it seems like the pickups only ever appeared once, and didn't return after switching ants? I think it would have helped if they came back each time, so that the player had one more goal aside from avoiding the enemy.

Well done!

Reflect by dpumford 2017-05-18T20:17:24Z

This was deceptively fun for such a seemingly simple game. It took me a few tries before I figured out how the walls worked, but then it was off to Pong-town for me. The sound and graphic design were really fitting to this minimalist experience. I didn't see much of the text though, as the sentences were a bit too long for me to read while trying to keep the ball in play.

I can't really think of anything to do better, except possibly "more of this!" If you figure out a way to transition the inputs well to a mobile device I think this can be developed into a pretty great mobile game!

LD39 — Running out of Power

RUN! Before the power runs out! by zenmumbler 2017-08-22T13:07:10Z

Fantastic job on creating a tense atmosphere. The game itself is really simple, but given your limited time it's impressive that you managed to make it this enjoyable. I think your take on the theme is also one I haven't seen in many other entries, so I'll give you some points for that as well. And you said you made the game engine yourself? Splendid work!

Tiny Explorer by rijnswand 2017-08-22T12:01:11Z

Really interesting game. The controls were a bit difficult considering how slippery the terrain felt, but I suppose that was the main challenge of the game. Overall this game set a really great mood and I didn't end up bored whatsoever during the journey. Graphics were great for a 3d jam game. The detail on the rover, lander and terrain were quite impressive. Great work!

Archimedes 2029 by Brickkid512 2017-08-21T20:48:33Z

The graphics were good and easy to read, and the music was simple but set the mood appropriately. I like the idea of being able to choose systems to disable at the start so that you can control which resources you need to scavenge for. Controls were good for the most part, but there's a small pause from pressing jump to the character jumping that sometimes bothered me. The missiles were also difficult to deal with when several of them appeared at once. I think it would be an improvement if each missile took a single shot to destroy.

Either way it's an impressively complex game given the time constraints! Great job!

Xenocide by benjamin 2017-08-21T21:17:05Z

Fantastic graphics and gameplay. The variety of abilities available is impressive, as is the level design and the fact that there are three levels, with bosses to boot! This was also a non-typical take on the theme, which I enjoyed. Picking out which abilities to use on which level added a new dimension to the game. The only problem I have is that a single death forces you to restart the entire game rather than just the level you were on. As such I didn't "complete" the game, though I played all three levels.

Great work!

Carrot Labyrinth by daneestar 2017-08-22T13:00:12Z

There were some spots in the maze that were hard to squeeze through, but other than that it was a solid game. I really liked the music, especially how it slowed down as power ran out. The thought of having power correspond to your field of vision is also something I haven't seen in any other entries so far. Interesting take on the theme! (You also get points for the other take on the theme that comes at the end of the game, heh)

Well done!

Robo Power by jahndis 2017-08-21T14:07:58Z

Fantastic puzzle game with a great use of the theme. Graphics are clean, between-level dialogue is great and the music is great for some robot-puzzling action. Always fun to see robot programming games!

PLASMAGUN! by yuigoto 2017-08-22T12:15:22Z

Great graphics, I really liked the choice to have the lights on the walls, kept the environments from looking too boring. Good job making it procedural too, didn't expect it but it worked very well. As far as top-down shooters go this one was a bit simple and could have benefitted from more enemy types and weapons, which I think is a good way to develop things further if you want to keep working on this game. Good job on the audio as well, the music was short and simple but never felt grating or bothered me.

All in all, great work!

Don't Go Flat by wh05herlock 2017-08-22T12:33:08Z

Good controls and really like the addition of a minimap. The graphics and audio were clean and did their job well. I found the enemies a bit too hard to kill, would have preferred if they took fewer shots. The death animation was also a bit long. Still, great work!

Ducks in a Row by hgcummings 2017-08-22T13:40:44Z

Really cool idea! The demo level was a great help in figuring out how each part of the factory works, which was a great help in the other levels for figuring out what was wrong. I think this has potential to be further developed into a great puzzle game!

Out of Power by Piotrek 2017-08-22T13:31:17Z

Graphics are really solid, and I liked the idea of pushing huge wheels to crush smaller robots in order to get energy. The screen giving in to static as you run out of power is also a nice touch!

I think the movement needs a bit of adjustment, but other than that a good game. The movement speed starts of slow and goes up so quickly that precision platforming gets difficult. I also noticed that jumps get weaker as you lose energy, which can lead to situations were you get stuck someplace without being able to leave to find more energy.

Still, good work!

Travel by madsj 2017-08-21T15:09:40Z

Really fun shooter with great controls and lots of challenge without feeling too unfair. The music and graphics were both fantastic. I have no real improvements or complaints that I can think of. Great work!

Flying Aces - Going the distance! by jotson 2017-08-21T14:23:53Z

Simple, clean and entertaining. The graphics are great, with lots of sweet little details. Adding obstacles would, as you say, be the next step for the game I think. As it is right now, it's a bit on the easy side but still a fun few minutes to play around with. Great work!

StarAway by frogcheese 2017-08-01T01:46:37Z

Didn't mean to stay up this late, but it's up! I finished the music at like 5 minutes past the deadline, so I'll put that in the post-compo version. Overall, I'm still pretty happy with what I accomplished. WebGL build will be coming within the next couple of days!

StarAway by frogcheese 2017-08-01T19:05:08Z

@pixel-game-wizard Thanks for your kind words! I've never played the original Star Fox myself - Star Fox 64 is my only game in the series (excluding that dinosaur game...) When I came up with the idea of a space ship 3D runner I figured it'd be a good inspiration for the look of the game, as well as an opportunity for fitting in some funny banter by the character.

As for your questions:

1. You're supposed to hold it. The exhaust sound and particles should communicate which speed you're going at, but right now there's a bit of a communication error there given that the exhausts go nuts for a while after you hit a booster. 2. Using W/S was simply a bit uncomfortable for me. I like having separate "accelerator" and "brake" keys for these types of games.

I'll polish this a bit more, but probably won't develop further. If so I'd rather do my own full on-rails shooter instead. Thanks again for the feedback!

StarAway by frogcheese 2017-08-02T15:03:02Z

@rijnswand Thanks for the feedback! Even though I put WASD in the description, I actually only used the arrow keys myself so I totally missed that this was an issue - really, thanks for pointing it out. I've added W/S and Arrow up/Arrow down in the latest version, so you don't have to be an expert contortionist to play. This also makes it possible to play one-handed for those who need it.

Down to the last Percents by Garazbolg2 2017-08-21T15:28:29Z

Really like the concept, and the mood was great for such a quick horror game. Would like if it was easier to show/dismiss the phone than clicking on a specific border, though - perhaps right click should bring up/put way the phone? I think it would be good to have a simple way like this since visibility is pretty important in order to spot monsters or hiding spots ahead of you.

The light didn't seem to do much aside from let you see background details, so I ended up playing most of the game without the flashlight. I suppose this is a good place to work on the actual uses of light if you continue developing the game.

Speaking of, I really think you should! This has some great makings for a 2d horror game. As you said, adding other apps for story purposes or other mechanics is definitely a possibility. There's lot of room for exploration with this concept, I think. Great work!

Running Out of Power Rangers by beardogames 2017-08-21T15:36:46Z

The interpretation of the theme was so brilliant that I had to give this a go. While the description of the game seemed pretty interesting, I found the actual gameplay a bit confusing. I realize that the red alternatives are the best for dealing damage, but they changed so quick and so often that I didn't really have time to make decisions. For the last enemy I just ended up pressing random directions and won handily, while trying to choose attacks led to the enemy getting closer and closer to attack.

A bug I noticed was that, after playing Team Power without losing any rangers, I chose Team Justice and played again. The pig monster never showed up after its introduction screen, though, and several of the attacks were just labelled "DEBUG."

Recharge by mponomarev 2017-08-21T15:18:39Z

Really impressive for your first entry into the jam. The music and graphics are really fantastic. As others have said, I can tell that the game is not completed. Still, I think this gives a good taste of what you are capable of. I think this could turn out really great if you continue to work at it - and if not, I don't doubt you'll be able to make some really impressive stuff in coming jams should you choose to participate. Great work!

Save The Day ! by juan 2017-08-21T14:56:26Z

Fantastic graphics! The intro cutscene looked absolutely amazing. As an endless runner this is pretty competent, though with somewhat finicky controls. I noticed several times that I moved two spaces when I intended to only move one. I was also a bit bothered by the fact that I couldn't see the entire ship on screen - especially after hitting an obstacle I could barely see the ship at all so it took me a few tries before I realized that I had two lives to play with.

Overall, a great entry! Good job!

Energy Boy by neowhoru 2017-08-21T20:56:29Z

A bit on the easy side, but still a good game. I think if you forced the player to constantly run and upped the speed a bit it could pose a bit more challenge. The graphics were clean and easy to read, with a really nice opening screen and great character and enemies.

I encountered a physics glitch at one point, running across a flat floor and getting stuck. I could get out of it by jumping, though, so no lasting problem there.

All in all, good work!

Asteroid Miner by Roka Josh 2017-08-21T15:57:52Z

This is a pretty interesting addition to the old asteroids. The graphics were nice and clean, and the music was good and overall a nice fit. I think a natural progression for this game would be to have some form of in-game store where you can exchange your currency for upgrades. That might be a good idea if you choose to continue developing this.

I did have a couple of issues with the game though: the first is the main menu being cut off on my MacBook, regardless of which resolution I picked. I saw someone else had the same problem. The game itself was playable anyway, so in the end it wasn't a big deal. The second is the speed of enemy ships. They come at you so fast that there's basically no chance to react, track them and shoot them down, which feels a bit unfair.

Other than that, really great job!

Really polished! Graphics were fantastic, the parallax scrolling backgrounds a really nice detail. The music was a good fit and unobtrusive. Really cool how you made a world map too, and optional collectibles in each level. This is honestly pretty complete as a runner game, the only change I can think of is to increase the pace a bit. Other than that, a really great effort!

POW by ProdigalSon 2017-08-21T14:46:20Z

Fantastic puzzle game! Great graphics, great sound, cute character and really competent puzzle design. I didn't even notice how much time I spent playing until I finished this. One of my favorites for this jam!

daemon by bombjack 2017-08-21T14:17:38Z

Pixelart is great, and the sound creates a really nice ambience. I found that the platforming was a bit too punishing, though. The controls were a bit difficult to manage with the jump seeming to be about the same height regardless of how long you push the jump button. Combined with some really difficult obstacle placement there were plenty of spots that I could barely ever get past unhurt.

Lifeforce Deathrun by GanbareGamesKyle 2017-08-21T14:33:24Z

Cool game with a mechanic that was a lot harder to wrap my brain around than I expected it would be. Having to keep in mind where each character was versus where they needed to be seems like such a simple thing but I managed to mess it up half the time anyway. Great job on the graphics, too - simple and to the point. My one gripe is the music, which I quickly found grating. Thanks for putting in a mute option for people like me.

Fun game, nice graphics and surprisingly addictive. The UI in particular looks fantastic! The details are so simple but it really does a lot for the look of the game. It was a bit on the easy side, but I suppose that's part of the hook for endless runners to keep you playing for longer. I did find very few instances were using the pulse item was all that necessary, given that it was pretty easy to get back to full energy even after getting ambushed by one or two enemies.

Ghost Cleaner by akai_0okami 2018-08-27T16:00:32Z

This is a really sweet and fun take on the theme! Great job!

Fusenaut by frogcheese 2018-08-13T00:12:50Z

Had a lot of graphical bugs when it came time to upload a build, but they should mostly be fixed now. There are still a couple left, but it's just stuff like slightly misplaced text in the UI at one or two places so I'll leave it be.

Really pleased with how much I managed to accomplish!

Fusenaut by frogcheese 2018-08-14T18:26:37Z

Thanks for the feedback @deaymon! I definitely would have added damage indicators if I had even 10 more minutes to polish things. As it stands, it's a playability issue that I'll have to leave be. I added a note about it in How To Play to at the very least help a few future players ahead of time.

Roguenoc by gustavo.christino 2018-08-27T16:24:34Z

Really cool to generate a new maze when you play. I felt the turning was slow, even when pressing "Accelerate". I think this type of game might benefit from allowing you to turn the player towards where the mouse is pointing. (I'm on mouse and keyboard) Must say I'm very impressed with the art, a shame you didn't have the time to get it in before the end. There's definitely a lot of talent on display here!

CLAMPRESSOR File Archiver by Deaymon 2018-08-27T15:53:25Z

This was uproariously funny. The presentation is really top-notch, and it's a cool take on the "eliminate row of same objects" type puzzle game that I haven't seen before!

My first Ludum dare - Astro Swing by michelle 2018-08-27T16:12:24Z

Fantastic job on your first entry! The swinging mechanics were a bit difficult to use, especially if you fell onto the ground it got hard to get back up. Maybe some way to reel in the rope would help, so you can get yourself off of the ground? Either way a tremendous job! Well done!

Learn with Babafounini by Nicso 2018-04-24T14:44:46Z

Great sound and graphics, but it was a bit tricky finding stuff given how large the world was. I got as far as finding the azure backpack before I called it a day.

Played the macOS version - there's a mistake in how it was packaged though. The zip file contains a "Contents" folder. I managed to get the game to work by creating a folder called "Babafounini.app" and putting "Contents" inside. The zip should contain a ".app" folder to work straight away on any Mac. So zip the "whatever.app" that you get out of your macOS build and everything should be peachy!

Litur Teningur by Vinterskog 2018-04-24T15:10:07Z

Interesting idea - can't rate it though since the control scheme doesn't really work on my MacBook. Scroll wheel binding doesn't work on the MacBook touchpad for me. If you added some alternatives for those playing on laptop without a mouse I think that'd be great!

Aloisius by Rongo Matane 2018-04-24T14:05:02Z

I was blown back by this entry. The graphics were clean with a consistent perspective and the game itself felt very polished. For a jam entry the enemy AI was actually pretty impressive. This is definitely among my favourites this jam!

Dancing Bandit by Tay 2018-04-24T13:45:02Z

This is a really clever idea, but I think it would have been a bit more fun if the dancing part of the game had a quicker tempo. Impressive that you managed to get something like this finished within that short of a timespan!

Racingsaurus Text by Don Fouts 2018-04-24T14:17:14Z

The art is great, but the control scheme was a bit messy to deal with. I assume that's close to the actual experience of texting while driving though... I had fun, the game wasn't too short or too long. I did however manage to get stuck in the railings on Level 3 in a couple places. Took me several seconds to get my car out of there.

Time Spike by egawag 2018-04-24T14:28:11Z

I love your way of implementing turn-based combat in a real-time action game! I had no problems with the web version. The boss was a bit easy. Might have been trickier if it spawned spike enemies behind the player as well, so that you couldn't just sit back and spam bullets at it until it dies. Really well done!

Karaoke Ninja by GastricSparrow 2018-05-11T19:07:42Z

This was lots of fun! Had a blast trying different songs and figuring out which ones worked for certain situations. Great take on the theme and a great game overall!

RoguePets by Lodugh 2018-04-24T14:55:54Z

Cute! A pet roguelike... you might be on to something there! Either way the game is pretty fun, graphics good and some nice tunes to go with it. I had some trouble with the enemies being a bit unpredictable though. Maybe if they were slower, or couldn't move diagonally? Great game!

SPORTS by Forest 2018-04-24T15:23:56Z

It's a bit too chaotic for me to be any good at it but I had fun the entire time... even if the computer beat me into paste (literally)

The half-time shenanigans legit cracked me up. And the "good game" song got a grin out of me. So yeah, I think you deserve that Humor 5 star.

Beat Platformers Up by atsuzaki 2018-04-24T15:15:31Z

Very fun to beat up a pipe and launch yourself bouncing back and forth up the level. It's pretty difficult, but really satisfying once you get a good run.

Battle Z Defense by ALKubo 2018-04-24T15:37:59Z

Couldn't move the map - middle mouse button isn't available on a laptop touch/mouse-pad. Would've been nice if there was some alternate way of controlling it for laptop users.

The game was a pretty cool mix between a clicker, tower defense and battleship game! This is for sure an interesting take on the theme. As a criticism I think the game could probably stand to have fewer tombs, though - and possibly make them larger to make them a bit easier to find. Searching the map for 40 tombs got a bit tedious after a while.

Late for Love by Gaze Team 2018-04-24T13:16:31Z

Loved the idea, and the game is really polished! I like how the "love meter" was also affected by how you controlled your car. The game was a bit long, but I get that it was needed to some extent to build the mood and fortunately the checkpoints were pretty generous. Fantastic work!
