This game is cool, though I found it tough to manuvre, especailly when I landed on top of pipes and could not punch / kick them. But overall very creative!

Very interesting. Took me a few plays to understand how to control the guy, even with the instructions given. I feel like maybe there's too many enemies, so I don't get much of a chance to really practice ascending. Very unique mechanic, but very difficult.
The feeling that you get from every jump is just perfect! SFXs are really good, land in general pretty enjoyable. At first understanding the controls as a problem but afterwards it got easier. Great job!
Great game feel, i liked the controls actually, they felt very good to me. Though it's a really tough game haha.
Thanks @sleepyGrin ! I tried putting in a difficulty progression but I was working on it while the time ran out, so had to do without. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Very fun to beat up a pipe and launch yourself bouncing back and forth up the level. It's pretty difficult, but really satisfying once you get a good run.
I briefly read the instructions on the page, jumped in, pressed all the buttons, mouse1 and mouse2 did something but I was not sure what. They just randomly launched me in random directions and then my guy just fell into the abyss. I was sure I was missing some available controls, so I reloaded the page to see the instructions again and there were no button prompts near the actions! I had to go to this page again to see the controls. Then I went back to game, mashed all the mouse buttons randomly to the same effect as before. I almost gave up on it, but suddenly I pressed mouse button in quick succession and blue bar appeared. Maybe it's just me being stupid and totally unobservant, but after all this time I finally realised how to play this game.
And it appeared to be a pretty cool little game. The idea is pretty innovative and quite interesting. As a feedback I'll say that you really should include the message saying "JUST MASH MOUSE1! AND A LITTLE BIT OF MOUSE2!" somewhere on the game page or even on the starting screen in the postjam version. Jump power gain seems a little bit off. Values below 3 give you almost no force at all and at slightly higher values you fly super fast. Hitting an obstacle kills your momentum, but it would be so satisfying to just pinball through all the barrels while destroying them!
The idea is totally there, the sounds of hitting things are pretty satisfying, but enemies are placed too close together and there are a lot of them and you have almost no way to predict that you will hit them after a couple of bounces which makes this game quite fun but quite hard at the same time. A little too hard to be desired. Keep up the good work and improve on the idea and it will totally work as a fun timekiller one button game.
@detectiveLosos You're right about the instructions being rather poorly written - I realized too late that I could've worded them better. I can't update the game, but I updated (this) LD page and the itch page so that people can see a better written, more detailed explanation of the mechanics and controls beforehand rather than being thrown directly into the deep end.
I also agree that the balance for nearly everything is all over the place, I was going to fine tune it but I simply ran out of time! I do plan on making a significantly improved version with smarter enemy/pipe placement, smoother jump power curves and a much improved introduction to the controls and mechanics.
Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it! :D
I gave most of the feedback I had for you on the stream. Thanks for bringing it by!
@detectiveLosos this is what I call constructive feedback.. u said it all dude :v:
@Reizo Nice game! Though with some better controls it would be way better. "Correct Scanning for pipes in both ways and stickiness" is what I felt was missing more. Other than that, the features seem well built and on place.
Well done both! (+ @atsuzaki )
Had some problems to get the game, but once I got it the controls were incredebly smooth. And also the visuals are cool, nice game and great work!
Yeah, I appreciate it @erebus! Your pointers were really helpful.
@Lyrcaxis Hey! I didn't even know you were participating! Thanks for trying it out. I agree, almost everyone seems to find the controls both unintuitive and somewhat overdone for what they do. I've been considering making a postjam version with updated combat and better spawning.
@Yahialds Thanks man, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Really interesting idea, but I just can't seem to get the hang of it. The punching controls feel fine, but the viewport feels too small to make good judgments amount where I'm going to land and it's alarmingly easy to end up going nowhere useful or get stuck on a platform. Several times I found myself stuck on top of a platform and none of my buttons, including middle mouse, would get me. I give you credit for creating reasonbly good visuals and audio, though. Good work!
@piscythe Yeah I've come to the conclusion that the platforming needs a fair amount more work to actually be interesting or fun. It's the first game I've ever released, so its really been a learning experience here. Thanks for your feedback, I plan on working on it and eventually releasing a postjam version as well.
Fun idea, it's pretty difficult though, I agree with Piscythe that the viewport feels a bit crammed, so it hard to aim for anything meaningful, or maybe I'm missing something about the game, which is entirely possible.
Quite an interesting idea! Creative mix of genres (at least for me, heh). If you fix the bugs and make the enemies more interesting looking, it can become really good time killer.
Great job! Over 15 years of gaming and this is the first time a game makes me feel like Superman haha. Nice graphics, appropriate SFX, some music would be nice. The first few minutes are my only complain, it's hard to understand what I'm doing or where I'm supposed to go, and it's too easy to fall down and die and have to wait (should remove the counter completely). Still nice, innovative idea. Bravo!
Pretty neat idea! It was tough to get the hang of it, because I didn't realize the middle mouse button doesn't work in the WebGL version! (At least for me.)
Thanks @jesper-fyhr-knudsen , I think its just on the game, not on you. I've been working on it and hopefully the postjam version won't feel as limiting or clunky.
Why thank you, @annie-owl! I appreciate you taking the time to try it out!
@GastricSparrow Ooh I did not expect you to see my game (I'm a fan of your LD41 project - it's absolutely fantastic!). The comparision to superman is a really wonderful compliment, thank you! I've been working on the game design end of things, trying to refine the gameplay while making it clearer. Hopefully it'll alleviate your complaints with the game and feel even more fun to play!
Thank you for the heads up, @chainedlupine. I'll investigate it. In the meantime, you can use L.Shift (it does the same thing).
