I'm not play much. But if I would give the game name. I would call it Watch Me Die. You can shot and the bullet were stopped at that time. It's pretty cool. I love it. But in the Enemy turn, I watch me die several times. So I think it's not good for me.
A good interpetation of the theme! I like it.
Very simplistic, yet effective. Even though the graphics are not super elaborate, they convey the game really well!
I would've just made the boss room a bit smaller and the enemies a tad faster to increase difficulty (maybe a hard mode?)
Good job overall!
I love your way of implementing turn-based combat in a real-time action game! I had no problems with the web version. The boss was a bit easy. Might have been trickier if it spawned spike enemies behind the player as well, so that you couldn't just sit back and spam bullets at it until it dies. Really well done!
To be honest I absolutely love this. Awesome use of the theme and it plays really smooth. It was definitely too easy but we all know how hard balancing in a game jam is. Would love to see a more in-depth version of this. Keep up the good work! :D
I absolutely love the turn-based style. Is quite fun to set up your moves, and watch the bullets fly. The art, although simple, really stood out for it's personality, it very much reminds me of the art of Michel Gagne. The music was also groove worthy. Good job to all involved!
Would love to see more levels (and bosses :D) of this in the future with a ramped up difficulty.
P.S. I loved how you did the tutorial, it was informative, had a sense of humor: "Welcome to an alien planet of death that conveniently has an area with no enemies", and led straight into the actual game!
4/5, Would shoot aliens again.

I love your game. I think there should be some more "smarter" enemies. But it's realy cool. Except the adverts before playing on game-jolt. The ads rages me (because of my weak hardware which leads to regular reloads of the game)

This is the best game I've played so far out of this Ludum Dare. I applaud your incredible design choices; our team looked at doing a real-time/turn-based hybrid during our brainstorming but nothing we came up with was as good as this. The balance of bullets only moving on the opposite turn is genius, and the overall design space available is huge. The only thing missing is some sort of mechanic that *does* interact with your enemies during your turn besides the set-and-forget bullets, but that's more of a thing to explore when fleshing out the idea in subsequent levels. The boss was a bit lackluster since you could just keep nailing the same area over and over easily, but that's a balance issue, and everyone knows balance is out of whack in a LD.
Bravo on your design. Keep making games, for all our sake.
^ I agree with the last comment. This has the potential to turn into a bigger game. The turn based mechanics are super cool and change the way you approach the game, it's less about rushing through and more about anticipating your next move. Very very well done.
Lovely game, a solid turn based mechanic and a nice boss to finish on! Would have been cool to include some pickups and maybe not have to wait if there are no enemies in the direct vicinity. If you get chance give our Jam Mechasnek a go too :) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/mechasnek

This was awesome! felt like I was playing a Strange top-down version of Superhot (esq :P) Very cool though, The game was easy and quick to pick up, it felt very instinctive and I enjoyed it all, the soundtrack was funky, and the game played nicely. The only bug I had was in the boss room The player got stuck against the right wall, I couldn't get off of it, Still won :P but was stuck to the right wall. Great job with this! Very Fun!
Wow, that was a very well done game. I enjoyed the gray/black color scheme. The bass guitar was fantastic...there's not too many LD41 games with great bass. Great job...I really enjoyed the turn based mechanic.
Woh, the game mechanic is so well thinked! Great game and great design!

What a great gameplay loop ! Seriously, I had so much fun crawling through the level, the time intervals flow naturally, and once you get the hang of it the game becomes pretty epic, especially during the boosfight. I don't know if adding a little more "juice" would be detrimental to the experience, but you have my congratulations for such a neat title.
On the aesthetical hand, the graphics are serviceable, and the music works great, so kudos for the polish on that part !
simple and awesome, the boss music stops looping after sometime (not a big problem, just I'm just reporting) the mechanics of the time stopping for the shots and enemies is great, this game has potential to a commercial release for sure!!!
Good job! It's a really fun entry! You combined the genres really well, and the SFX are quite nice! I do wish that the music clashed a little less though. Also, the background has lines in-between the sprites that leave blue artifacts everywhere.
Good job, and good luck!

I do not hate the game, but for me did the turn-based movement system fast gets frustrating. The graphics and the sound effects is overall really good. The music is okay, but could have been better. Overall is this a fine LD game, and it fits the game jam theme.
Nice implementation of the concept. I really appreciate how you set up your tutorial. The sound effects seemed a little harsh and didn't really match up with the music though. Nice job!

Tutorial at the start was a great way to go for a concept like this, I liked the clear indication of blue and red for player and enemy turn. The bullet time feel of lining the shots and watching them go was fun!
This is a super clever idea - I did actually beat the boss. It was challenging and the music was great, at first it felt like the flow was off but then I got used to it and it was pretty smooth. Excellent submission. :D
it has potential to be a hard core game! wish to test it with real player!
This is a well made game. The idea is phenomenal and executed quite well, although the stopping of your movement does end up getting a bit annoying when there's no enemies around, but it was still fun to play. Good job!
