Really great entry. Clever, great art and music. Well done. If you get a chance check out our game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
This is just phenomenal.
I like the mechanic. Nice art. My only complaint is that I died on a stage because a enemy was hiding behind a tree. Lovely game though. If you get a chance please check out our game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
I wouldn't have guessed that water made magic regenerate faster without reading that it does. Interesting mechanic and the controls/movement felt tight. Lots of nice polish. The camera angle gets a bit wonky if you keep moving off in a single direction. The music is fun. Nice entry :)
I really like the shader, nice little game. Check ours out if you get a chance https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
I like the grid pixel effect on the art. The slow mo is super cool. Super fun mechanic. Really entertaining game. I'm kinda surprised there is no sound.
I felt like it let me get the legs separated a bit too far to where one was off camera. However that's really my only complaint. Excellent name to go with the premise. All the sound effects and destruction felt great (even though it meant I was messing up) Really great game.
That blurry filter was a bit hard to look at after a while. I like the colors used though. I bought everything I think? The end game screen said I spent $8240. I love the ....hmmm....dyslexic?..take on the theme. Pretty funny.
Art all looks good. Yes the sound was too loud. Gameplay wise there really wasn't a ton of incentive to do anything except wait until the last 20 seconds and just fly over and capture a planet. Maybe power ups or something when you capture a planet would help? How did you manage to hurt your arm during a jam?! Solid entry. If you get a chance check out mine https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
The art is nice. I wish it had sound effects and the music is a bit repetitive. The camera is my biggest complaint though. It's very jarring to face a different direction. It feels like it needs zoomed out a bit and fixed, not attached to the position of the cursor.
Great art/animation. Would have loved some sound effect to go with the music.
Really like the art definitely gives off the right vibes. The animation and sounds for the piece moving are perfect. Very cool game. If you get a chance check out ours https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
lol The dialog was very enjoyable. Great concept for the theme. One of my favorite entries by far.
WOW, This is super cool. I have never seen anything like this. Great job.
Love the graphics.
There were some grammatical errors in the intro for example "a escape" should be "an escape" but I never knock anyone for those just point them out so that they can fix them. The controls like everyone else is saying need some help. I like that you did all the art in black in white. However I don't like that everything is in a different resolution. Like the telescopes pixels are smaller than the grounds pixel etc. I like the atmosphere you created.
Either those trees grow really fast or those people walk really slow ;) nice game. Check out ours if you get a chance https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
Reminds me of simant (I'm sure someone said this already). Felt like it was maybe a bit out of scope for a jam setting but I'm impressed with how much is here. Took me a bit before I had a handle on everything that was happening.
My computer didn't seem to handle it too well. The shattering and falling level looks cool but really didn't run smoothly for me. Controls felt good and the music fit well. Nice concept.
I really love the aesthetic of the game. The player character is sooo adorable. Controls were a bit to floaty for my tastes, but it did fit and feel correct. The animation for eating a dust speck seemed a little long since you pass by the food so quickly. Really nice entry :)
All the sounds and music for each scene were perfect. Love the color choices. Great little toy would love to see more scenes.
Haha, I love the sound effects of the screaming. Controls are kinda tricky my legs seemed to just fall down a lot. Love the concept. Check out our game if you get a chance https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
Love your art, The expressions on the asteroids and planet are cute as hell. I wish that the screen wrapped at the edges, It's fairly easy to get lost off camera.
Love your art, The expressions on the asteroids and planet are cute as hell. I wish that the screen wrapped at the edges, It's fairly easy to get lost off camera.
Cool art style lots of movement. I really like the premise. It felt like sound effects were missing in a lot of places. The rocket mushroom didn't feel particularly useful. Nice game :)
Nicely polished entry. I like the animation of the barrels teleporting in. Nice clean pixel art. My high score is 23.
Interesting mechanic but even with messing around and reading the tutorial I don't feel like I understand whats happening. Cute cows, poor creatures must be pretty dizzy.
Really impressed with how much you got done. Its rare to see tutorials in game for jam entries but always appreciated. The voice acting was a nice bit of polish as well. If you get a chance check out our entry https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
Really fun mechanic smooth controls. My only complaint is that all the assets are sized differently, Like the Mountains have less resolution but are bigger than the city for example. If you get a chance please check out our game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
Gorgeous art style. The movement mechanic is interesting but really kinda awkward and frustrating in practice. I love the concept. Please check out our entry if you get a chance https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
I really like the mechanic. Nice ambient music and I love the sound the portal makes. The art all looks great too. My only complaint is in the mouse controls. I would have preferred WASD or maybe click and the character moves to where you click like diablo. I just found myself re-centering my mouse a lot and it felt a bit awkward. Very cool game though. If you get a chance check out ours https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
Cute art, love the style. If you get a chance check out and rate our entry https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
Wonderful story telling and graphics. Nice entry.
Nice little game. It was hard to hit enemies that were close bellow me. Also the hints saying Enemies coming from X direction are less helpful when there is no compass or much to orientate yourself with. Like maybe something like a soda can or something in the background would help with that. Like beetles coming in from the coke can. I had fun playing it though good job.
Nice clean aesthetic. Controls took a second to get used to but I had a lot of fun once I got the hang of em. My high score was 1560. All the weapon types were nice and had a unique purpose. My favorite was the missile that goes through the planet. Great game.
The opening cutscene clearly took a lot of work to make and it shows. The gameplay part certainly needed more time to come together but that's ok. You had big vision and you clearly gave it your best shot. I'm sure you learned a lot working on this and that's the whole point of jams right? Please keep making games.
Oh so that's how microwaves work I've always wondered...My biggest complaint is the controls. They are not very intuitive and made more awkward since the camera is fixed. Love the concept you guys nailed the theme without having a planet.
This is really adorable. Controls felt good. The levels had nice design. Great job.
I feel like pressing spacebar to make the cloud was unnecessary since there is no cooldown and no reason to not use it. I just spammed it the whole time. You could have saved me a lot of button presses by just having it happen automatically all the time. The barriers on the left and right side let me get off camera but the top and bottom ones don't. The music fit the game nicely and the art was simple and clean. Good entry overall.
p.s. great name for the game lol
lol that was fun, nice art and humor. Very cool entry. If you get a chance check out ours https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
I'm impressed you built a game like this with the amount of time in a jam setting. Not sure why but when I ran the game on my comp all the art was fuzzy like it was resized, but I can see from the screenshots its just my machine. Sure it has some balancing issues but it still took 30min of my time. Great entry.
The alien idle animation is great. I don't know it is just on my computer but the camera jerked in a odd way when I jumped that seemed unnecessary. Fun concept for the mechanic.
Lovely artwork and music. Really impressive entry. If you get a chance please check out our game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
Nicely polished little game. Great concept and execution. I couldn't play too long because it was making me a little motion sick. I think that has much more to do with me than anything in the game though.
Nice concept, I got stuck on the shower but went back to this page and saw the instructions. Good job overall. If you get a chance check out our game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
Music was a bit repetitive. The camera was a bit unwieldy as well. Fun concept really nice art, the title screen and all the UI looks great. Really nice game guys. If you get a chance check out ours https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
What a terrifying world to live on for the blue guy. I liked the dirt on the camera when you get hit, that was a nice bit of polish. My high score was 870 died by landing in some fire. Music was a little shrill maybe the volume of it need to be turned down a bit? Solid entry good job. If you get a chance check out our game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
You were not kidding about this being tough. Graphics were nice. Controls felt good. Nicely done :)
It seems to have quite a few bugs that made it hard to play. Specifically I would teleport every time I shot. Keep making games.
"The gnome stabs you obviously" <-- my favorite part lol. I love the humor of this game. Nicely done.
Really enjoy the art style and music. Nicely done.
I wish I could try it with a controller I used the keyboard and it felt like I was controlling a bouncy ball wrapped in a wet towel. The way the player sticks to walls felt really odd to me then once you got unstuck it felt like you moved too fast and high. I found myself getting stuck in little corners all over the place. Maybe if the "caves" were bigger and you had more room it would feel better? I loved all your messages in the loading bar those were pretty funny. The particle effects all look nice and the glow was cool. Power ups were good and the music fit well.
Nice game. Love the art, great color choices. Music fits really well. The controls were very tricky, I never really felt like I fully grasped them. If you get a chance check out our entry https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
Love that you went for the gameboy aesthetic. I like the flags animation. Would love to see a post jam version. Great entry. If you get a chance check out our entry (which also has a gameboy aesthetic) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
Adorable pixel art. I think I planted too many trees. Really nice entry. If you get a chance check out ours https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
I felt like I wanted the camera just a little farther back at times. That's really my biggest complaint. Nicely done :)
Adorable little planet. I like the gameplay but I have a few gripes about the controls. esc is an odd button choice for the upgrade menu. Using the mouse to control the rotation of the planet was awkward since it was dependent on its location to the planet and I couldn't see my cursor. I would have preferred two buttons to control the rotation I think. I like the levels and the graphics really nice entry :)
It felt odd that the player can move faster than the nerf darts. The movement and jumping control all felt right. The music while childish felt too calm for how much action was happening. Nice take on the theme.
I like the gameplay. Took me a second to realize where I click is where the missile will explode. At first I assumed it would explode when it hits something. Not sure if its just me but when I lost the game just sat there spawning enemies still instead of going to a gameover screen. Art all looks nice. Sounds effects would be nice too, but I know how it goes with jams never enough time.
Love the humor and art. Really great game. If you get a chance check out our entry https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
The manual was a great touch. The CRT looks great. Really well executed concept guys.
Moving from planet to planet was a bit awkward and I wish the people stood on the sides of the planet because sometimes I was trying to talk to a person and ended up on another planet. Concept fit the theme well. Not bad for your first game in unity by yourself, well done.
You are right it does play like a complicated tamagachi. The tutorial was nice but I felt like I was still not understanding a lot still after it. The UI was pretty clean and readable. The premise is cool.
Really cool voxel art. Didn't feel really satisfying to hit enemies maybe some knock-back would help? Nice game overall. If you get a chance check out ours https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
Really fun entry my high score is 43764. Nice music and art. My one critique is that the controls are A and D but the title screen has left and right arrows but they don't work. If you get a chance check out our game (also has rabbits) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
Very relaxing, love the colors you used. The audio is nice too. Check out our game if you get a chance https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
I really like the concept. Made it through on my second try. Pretty fun.
Very complete entry. Lots of great polish like the expressions and the camera panning around. I wish I had 3 friends around me to play against something other than the AI. Well done guys :)
Really satisfying to bash into the world. Nice art. Very fun entry. If you get a chance check out our game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole.
Cute art. The magnifying glass is neat visually but it was kinda unclear on how it was supposed to help mechanically. All the humor was nice. Not sure if it's just me but the textures for the people and trees seemed to have a null reference as they were fucsia boxes for me. If you get a change check out our entry https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
Test
This is my favorite game involving a planet so far. I really like the mechanic, even if I'm terrible I keeping the peace. All the art is nice and fits well.
lol what a concept. Fun story lots of charm. Gameplay wasn't anything special but everything else made up for it. If you get a chance check out our game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
Super cute art. Controls and the pull of gravity all felt right. It was fun to get into little orbits. Well executed concept, good job.
Really gorgeous art, I love the reflection and the colors. Really fun gameplay. Certainly one of my favorite entries so far.
I'm alone right now so I had to play as both characters. But I can see this being a lot of fun. The art is gorgeous. My biggest complaint is with the dash button. It didn't always make me dash like it had a cooldown or something but the sound effect would always play. It just felt like something was off. I can't wait to grab a friend and try it out with them later.
Some clever puzzles in here, nicely done.
Lovely art. The controls or more specifically the jump needs some tweaking. The characters fall really fast and its hard to do the double jump.
Music needed to be louder or sound effects softer. Some sort of visual hint as to how high up is safe to fly would be nice. Fun little mechanic though. The graphics are nice and clean. If you get a chance please check out our entry https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
I had a really hard time getting the character to go the direction I wanted sometimes after landing on a planet. Which didn't matter too much until the plant was spinning and going the wrong way meant walking into a spike. It just seemed like the direction wanted to go never matched what i expected the button to do. Visually it looks good. The sound effects and music all fit nicely.
Really impressive game for one person, or any amount of people really. Interesting mechanic. Lovely graphics and sound. Well done.
Love the art. This game's story hits close to home as I play it in my own cubicle I'd like to escape. Great entry! If you get a chance check out ours https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
Strange, not in a bad way though. I really enjoy the art particularly the color pallet. I like impaling the guys on the trees and flinging them around. Cool entry.
It was a little unclear what the win con was. But the controls felt good. Had a good time playing it. Nice clean art.
Love the art/animations. Gameplay felt like I was endlessly trying to unlock my phone. Really good entry. If you get a chance check out our game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
Super cute game. Music was a bit repetitive. I learned I'm really bad at keyboard games lol. Great job. If you get a chance check out our game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
I like the shadows a lot. The little *pink* sound was perfect for the little rocks. Certainly a hard game. Nice entry overall, good job. If you get a chance check out ours https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
I like that when you run into the side of the bowl he bounces off and faces the other direction. That was a nice bit of polish that added a lot to the game feel for me. I failed the first dream really fast because I didn't think I needed to dodge the seaweed. The defend the earth mini game was my favorite. Nicely done. :)
Love the art. Cool concept. Didn't feel challenging then I got to world 28 and a robot one shot me. Very addictive. I assume by the aspect ratio the phone is the intended platform?
I had a lot of fun poking around with this one. I was surprised at how much I was enjoying trying to figgure out how it all worked.
Nice and simple. Well executed. Can't really say much more.
Had to use your guide to finish the game, but I'm glad you made a guide. Pretty complex little story for such a sort time. Nicely done. If you get a chance check our our entry https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
The dithering of the sky makes it hard to read the HUD. But nice use of the Gameboy aesthetic overall. Fun little game. Nicely done. :)
lololol Hilarious and frightening concept. Art and music is great. Good job :) if you get a chance check our our game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole
Wow really impressive game from a jam. Graphics are great, controls and movement felt right. Can you destroy a faction, it seems like you should be able to? Music was great. Really great entry :)
My highscore was 60. I like that the music speeds up with the gameplay. Love the bright colors. Nicely done.
Love it. Great mood, funny dialogue, pretty pixels.
Love the combination of genres. Reminds me a bit of Ridiculous Fishing. Nice Job :)
I like the combination of genres. I got lost trying to deliver my rice but then I remembered the castle acts as a pretty good landmark when you get lost lol. There wasn't a lot of feedback of when your towers were attacking. Some sounds or something would be nice. Cool entry.
That music is great, loved how the talking played in sync with it. Super cool 2d/3d effect too, I really want to try to make something using this technique now. The camera was a little wonky and didn't feel quite right though. If you get time check out our entry. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/mulligun
Really nice concept. The movement speed felt a little too slow for me though. Interesting level design.
BAHAHAha I love the concept. Great work guys. check out our entry if you get a chance. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/mulligun
Great art and level design. Cool mechanic.
It was little hard to follow because the beat didn't quite line up with the hearts. I had to press space before it overlapped the target. Once I figured that out though I was really enjoying it.
That was fun. Those fish have some really fast projectiles. It was hard, but not unfair.
I really love the combination of themes. The style of all the art was great. One of the best games I've played from this jam so far. Great job!
Nice little tower defense game.
I really enjoyed this, all the sound effects were perfect. Love the idea, good execution.
Nice concept, not a fan of the jetpack movement of the frog. I would have preferred something grid based and less slippery. That's mostly just because there is not a lot of space on each piece to actually move around to dodge. The controls would be less of an issue if the play space on each piece just gave more room probably. Great entry guys.
Really neat atmosphere, The light visibility was really neat although it doesn't quite work right in some edge cases. Screen Shot 2018-04-26 at 10.24.41 AM.png Cool game.
Love the music. It is really hard to get a gun though.
I had a hard time picking up the controls. It wasn't really intuitive even with your instructions. Cute art, nice use of the theme.
Web Player build was very laggy. But the downloaded build worked well. Love the graphics, nice concept, some balancing issues but I had fun.
Wow.
I really enjoyed the art. I feel like there wasn't a ton of strategy. I like the concept of horse racing with cards though. Nice game. :)
I'm terrible at playing two games at once like this. Really impressive graphics. The sounds felt off to me. Like the lazer sounded really puny. But I'm glad you have sounds. Really solid entry.
Nice art, keep working on it I want to see the fully realized version. :)
Nice implementation of the concept. I really appreciate how you set up your tutorial. The sound effects seemed a little harsh and didn't really match up with the music though. Nice job!
Love the art, great pallet and great effects (really like the spawn/teleport one) Check out our entry if you get a chance. :) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/mulligun
That was a bit too harsh on the audio side like I really wanted to just close out the game. Not because it was unsettling because it was just unpleasant and hurt. But nice job creating a mood.
The camera and controls didn't quite feel right to me. It would have been good to put a barrier to keep the player from falling off the edge of the world. I like the Voxel style art a lot.
Lovely art, tight game play. Great job. If you get a chance check out our entry https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/mulligun
Some of the text was too small to read. I also had all the upgrades purchased before the second challenge of the school so $ became useless pretty quick. Would have be nice to see how much time is left before the power ups recharge.
I like the drawings, the sounds were way too loud and repetitive.
I liked the art style. I wish there was sounds. I expected the screen to wrap or for a barrier to stop me from just walking really far away from where the floor had a pattern. The game also started to lag after a few minutes of playing which makes me think maybe some of the bullets are never de-spawning or something. Solid entry :)
Hahaha great concept. I kinda wish I could see the shotgun blast. Like with a muzzle flash or the projectiles themselves. But it doesn't need it the feedback from the splatter is enough.
Love the horse's animation. Nice job overall :)
Plays really smooth.
That's really hard to do both lol but fun to try. The car controls felt....slippery? idk something didn't quite feel right there. Nice entry.
