Nice challenge for a compo ! Good work !
I really like the style, maybe a little too hard ?
Everything was already said I think, the graphics are really great, soundtrack is cool, the mechanics are well thought and well used, we want a full game out of it
Really love the art style and gameplay, great work ๐
Nice game, well done !
Haha this is crazy :D really cool game :)
Nice game, well done :)
Just amazing and beautiful ! Great job !
Really love the pixel art and the gameplay, well done ๐
Great job, awesome submission ! :D
Nice concept :D
Nice game but hard to survive !
Really nice gameplay, great work ! ๐
Love the art style, great job ๐
Great concept, I like how the characters are mad at you after they fell that's awesome :D
Nice game :)
Very original and funny ! Great job :D
Simple and effective, you did really well with the theme, it's kind of relaxing to play despite that stressful audio atmosphere :)
Finally a sexy game :3
Nice game and nice graphics, well done !
I really like this game ! So cute, beautiful and original :) But keyboard controls are too hard :/
Really brilliant ! Nice gameplay !
That was really cool, managing potatoes is not as simple as we think :D
Nice game and nice graphics, good work !
Nice game and nice graphics, well done !
That was a pleasant experience, thanks a lot, I will try the mobile version :)
Graphics are awesome, good job !
Nice game, well done :)
Love your pixel art โค
I like the idea but controls are buggy :/
Overall a nice gameplay presentation, it could be the start of a demo :) I didn't really understood how I got the second green shirt, as I was randomly wandering trying to find that last clue.
Graphics are wonderful, good job sir !
Great work ! Nice game !
Really nice intro and concept, good work !
Awesome graphics, great job ๐
Really fun and well designed, good job ! Nice music too.
Nice performance for a LD, funny and looking great on my HTC Vive, good job guys ! I really hope you will have your 20 ratings :)
Great concept, I really enjoyed playing it !
Nice game and impressive for a compo !
As said before, the concept is really cool but the mana fills really fast, I never read the descriptions to see if the game is intuitive and had a small time before understanding what caused me to die. The soundtrack is pretty good tho, as the graphics are too, that's still a good game, good job guys !
Nice graphics and music ! :)
Chickens are always hungry, help me ^^ The theme really match !
Really fun and "cute" game :p
Great job for a compo, impressive ๐
I don't understand what to do :/
@thefunattic I had that one-minute-wait wave too on the first play, so I restarted the game after seeing that, I knew it wasn't something intended :)
The game itself is really cool, fast-paced and stressfull, didn't make it to 88 but trying to do it was really fun. The graphics reminded me of Little Inferno in a way, they fit your game perfectly ! The sound design is aimed to stress you, and it's working !
Put all that elements together the way you did and you have a nice game to play :)
Nice game, good job ! And great graphics too ! :D
Good work on graphics and music, well done !
Nice game, well done :)
Kicking kids as a llama was the best experience of my life, thanks :D
We don't kill dragons, they are our friends !
Simple but working concept, good job ๐
Nice graphics but hard to understand what to do ^^'
Just brilliant ! We love everything in this game !
Nice graphics, well done ๐
Fun and beautiful game, good job ! :D
Great job, well done ๐
I want to play it but I can't press 1 on my EU keyboard without numbers :/
Nice game, well done :)
Nice game, good job โ
Great concept, on my first run I slept too much and took to much time to complete the rooms, that was not a good idea
I died on my second attempt one screen after I was told the end was close, so disappointed
I will give it a third go later to finish it ! Nice work :)
Great graphics and gameplay, great job ! ๐
Really love the graphics, well done ๐
I build the castle ! Really cool, too bad for the theme but good work anyway :)
I want a donut now...
Nice game, good work ! ๐
That was awesome and instructive, I didn't knew mallows were made with cocaine and dopamine !
Nice game and amazing graphics, well done !
Nice game and the music is so cool !
Nice graphics, but I don't have 2 and 3 on my keyboard... Sad :(
I really enjoyed playing it, despite those platforms of death :)
The GameBoy games would be proud of yours :3
Really fun, nice game ! ๐
Nice submission, good job ! ๐
It's super cute and fun, love it! :)
Really fun and beautiful ! The timer is a little bit frustrating and there is some minor bugs but great job !
The mechanics were really cool to play with, having your controls inverted and choosing what to use to kill ennemies while playing a FPS game is something you normally never want, so playing with it was a great concept nice job !
That was a clever way to use the theme, and the music is really encouraging you to continue playing !
I didn't succeeded to win the game, I always ended up destroying everything, I found it easy to damage the world without even noticing it, but that should be because of my lack of skill
It's probably the wizard from our submission who stole them, sorry for that โ
Good work and nice graphics !
I really liked the experience, visuals and musics included :D The end was perfect, great job !
EDIT : I just realised there are multiple endings by watching my girlfriend playing, I should have said awesome job instead of great job :D
Join our dragon community, we love dragons โ
Nice game, but can be so much better with sound :D
Really love the animations, pixel art like a boss โค
Really short, but the boss patterns looked interesting and well thought, the art is really good, that's the kind of GameBoy game I would have played when I was young :D
Nice graphics, good job !
Love it! The idea is awesome :D
Nice game, well done :)
Download link is coming, sorry for that :)
Almost here ! Prepare your gamepads ! :video_game: :video_game:
Available now ! We did it ! https://realityblind.itch.io/dragluttony
You can try to feed him yourself and see... ๐
@bartosz Thanks for the feedback, we were not sure about having the exit button on the in-game window, and didn't pay attention on greater resolutions than 1920 * 1080.
This will change for future versions :)
@bartosz We are using GameMaker Studio, I'm not really a programmer so I have a lot of things to learn :) I changed some options on the project and it should launch in fullscreen now, could you test it when it will be online ? Again, thanks for your feedback :)
EDIT : I found how to export just the .exe, the exit button is now located in the room and the new build is online
@nivbeth Thanks a lot, we already can't wait for Ludum Dare 41 :3 I think we will continue developping Dragluttony with waaay more content in the future :)
@dat-man-lu @tobiasnl Keyboard controls are not as good as controller's one, that's sure. The problem was to find some keys in common between AZERTY and QWERTY to allow two players on the same keyboard. The rotation keys are the main problem I think, if you have any suggestions don't hesitate to submit them :) @lhouyez Ahah, le Hocus Pocus est mon prรฉfรฉrรฉ aussi, on a enregistrรฉ tous ces sons quelques heures avant la fin de la deadline et on s'est bien marrรฉs :D @xclementx Merci beaucoup, les dragons et les sorciers viennent d'une madame par contre (ma copine) :D
For all the others : thanks again supporting us !
@sepjani Thanks, what do you mean by adding a timer to the fire ? Food had different physics at first, but we ended up globalizing depending on the size (little or big), but retrospectively I also feel it's missing that little randomness :) @peppersalt I fixed that, the brooms now spawn with a little rotation (as it was the case before but was scrapped for an obscure reason), allowing the food to travel through the screen, particularly hilarious when you spawn a freeze potion that travels to your opponent :D
@sepjani That's a good idea, it could make its way into a post-LD build :)
@spierek No problem, we wanted to work more on that but ended up having no time to fix this, so it stayed the way it is now, but that clearly will be fixed in the future
@aeveis Have you played with a controller ? Keyboard controls are really harder to get but with a controller and a little practice it's pretty easy to reach the other dragon :)
@szekeres-szabolcs That's really strange, we check this issue as soon as possible (and maybe had a windowed mode). Thank you for your feedback !
@gaming-night Pas beaucoup du tout mรชme x) Merci beaucoup pour le feedback รงa fait extrรชmement plaisir :D
@goudcode @moski Thanks a lot, sorry I couldn't implement an AI, that's only the second game I code, and have a loooot of things to learn :D But we will surely continue developping it :)
@blizary Our dragons thanked you ! I guess that's what their growlings meant...
@bonelazy Really nice suggestion ! Thank you for your great feedback ! :)
@sheepking Sorry for the inconvenience, the only code the cross has is to quit the game, that freeze is really strange
@pepri Have you played with a keyboard or with 360 controllers ? We are aware that the keyboard controls are not good at the moment, but with controllers it must be much better :)
@weeping-rupee Even when relaunched ?
@weeping-rupee I'm on it, I was working on a bug fix update, try alt-tabing it, if that does not work just wait a little the update should not take too much time to come.
@weeping-rupee Thanks a lot for your patience, I tried the build on itch and had no problem launching it, that's strange. The next build will not launch on fullscreen by default, I hope it will solve your problem !
@weeping-rupee Yeah, GameMaker often act strangely with fullscreen for me too. The last build is online, with no fullscreen launch, if you need one try Alt + Enter. Thanks for your interest, I hope you will like the game :)
@tobia88 We have really cool ideas for new potions, mostly inspired by bugs we experimented while bug fixing x) @lexi We wanted controls to act how you would play a flipper table, we tried different things but what we came up with was finally a good way to do it I think :)
Thanks all for all the love in the comments
@weeping-rupee - Thanks for the feedback, the spin move could fasten up the longer you press the key, that's not a bad idea :) We had some tests where the food got an impulse from touching the broom, we should maybe reimplement it.
The thing that froze you is a Freeze Potion, it has a 10% chance (or 15 I don't remember) to replace a food item when you use your spell. More potions are planned, and they will be easier to see !
@ethan-kennerly Moving while rotating is really important to throw your food, thanks for your feedback :)
@joe-sycalik Yup, falling food through the brooms happened with our last bug fix, as we changed physics properties and rotation speed of the players sometimes collisions shapes don't really collide, it will be fixed. Did it happen often ?
For post-LD version I will start again from scratch, and the player will have two separate collision shapes, one for the broom, and one for the wizard so the broom will stop changing the position of the player when rotating against boundaries :)
@thefunattic Thanks for the feedback and your link, I added it to my To Play list for today
EDIT : I did check your game, and encourage people trying it too it's really cool !
@joe-sycalik Ok, I will take a look to fix that :)
I really need an ad blocker...
Love the style, good job ! ๐
Really nice, the music really carries you through this forest of death, damned wolves ! :D
700 / 1600... I'm bad but enjoyed it :D The music made me laugh, that mouth melody is just incredible x)
So beautiful, great job ! ๐
Not easy to understand at the first try but once you get it this became really amazing ! Great job and nice design :)
Nice game, our game is more or less in the same kind :) Good job :)
Very nice ! And design is great !
Amazing and really fit with the theme, good work !
Very very cool!! and the designs are awesome :D
I like the background and when the player jumps, very nice animation ^^ Nice game but I don't understand why I died :(
I played through a few levels, and it's a very good game ! I will totally play the rest of it when I will have time ! ๐
The art, music, mood, mechanics, everything is well thought and wonderfully executed.
I completely understand the motivation of your characters, I would totally do the same for beer ! ๐บ
Cheers from Belgium guys ๐ป
My heartbeats are still high after playing this game, so stressful and captivating at the same time. The audio, music and screen shakes really contribute to the immersion! Great job guys!
โThis game is fun and look really great! So polished, impressive performance for a Ludum Dare submission! Great work guys!
Amazing game, I was bad at it, but enjoyed being bad while trying to be good ๐
Everything, from art to music and coding (I love the simple but effective transitions) fits in a product that feels complete and is fun to play.
Good job ๐
This game is really cool ๐ I agreed with the idea of a little tutorial (at first I didn't notice it was a Simon like game, which is a nice idea :D) Otherwise I love the art, the sounds, and i had fun playing it ๐ Great work !
@thecritterscove
Hey ! Thanks a lot for your feedback ! ๐
It's our first time developping a puzzle game, and we needed a simple concept as we started really late working on it on the first day.
We're actually working on the Android version, it was the first target for this game but it needed a little more work before being available, it will be probably be done by tomorrow ๐
Thanks everyone for all this feedback ! ๐
We have a good starting point to improve the game on a **post-LD** version !
@mtanton : Changing the **grid size** is a very good idea, it could increase as the level goes on (every 15 levels for example).
@baggef : We wanted **more tiles with specific mechanics** to be available, but ended up with only the ones we have due to time constraints, but it will definitely be part of a polished version of the game.
@timeshapers : The timer was more important in the beginning of the development, but due to changes during the following days it became less relevant and will probably be changed by a **move counter**.
@gerardb : Good point, we didn't even thought about that ! **Losing should not restart the level**, after all we already have a button for that ๐
@wrnk, @spierek, @mortus : **Mouse controls will totally be reworked**, the game was too mobile focused during the development and we never touched the controls again once they were working.
Once again, thank you all, it's really heartwarming seeing our work appreciated ๐ฅฐ
@madrededios : One of the next steps for our team (we just had our first birthday on this edition of the LD ! ๐) is getting our licence for publishing on the **Play Store**, so don't be surprised if you find the game on it in a near future ๐
@moski : Thanks for this rather complete feedback ๐ If you want to follow the rest of our work you can find us on **Twitter** (https://twitter.com/Reality_Blind) and **Facebook** (https://www.facebook.com/RealityBlind/) ๐
@papabirb : It was intended to be the case, but I didn't pay attention that it cycles back only if the previous level is unlocked (1 to 16 is impossible in this case), instead of checking and going to the last unlocked level ๐
@pranjalbisht : The game was first meant to be a **"race against the clock while solving puzzles"** (you had a few seconds before the game releases the prisonners) but we then dropped out the idea, solving a puzzle is more satisfaying if you have the time to first think about how you will do it, the timer is the only thing from this idea that is still in place, and it will be removed to a "move counter" which will better fit the new gameplay ๐ We also will add **feedback for the blocks**, clouds coming from underneath when moving will do the trick !
@catamariii : We will work on a new version for the Play Store (soon I hope, as for now we have two other games which needs to be polished), with new levels, and of course new mechanics ๐
@callavicka : It was intended to have more mechanics, but we did not had time to implement them sadly. For a polished version we already have ideas on what we can add (the prisonners could come from multiple points, more than one prisonner could be send, some of the conveyors could break after a prisonner have passed, forcing you to move another conveyor to fill in the hole, etc)
@skiddings : Actually less than 3 days, we had a hangover on the first day and were not really productive that day ๐
@game-mon : We are 3 in our team, there's my best friend, who is a UI and background artist and designed the levels, my girlfriend who is character designer and animator, and I'm in charge of the coding, music and sound effects ๐
@captainpilot : Yeah, sorry for the Windows controls, the game was too mobile focused, next time I will develop different controls if different platforms are targeted ๐
@ursagames Thanks a lot for the test and your feedback ! ๐
@ruba : We use Game Maker Studio 1.4 ๐
@aurel : That's strange, you're the first one saying that and on all our devices the sound is quiet normal, almost low (even on our good 5.1 the sound was pretty low compared to YouTube musics)
@namnam : You actually have a link to download it on Android ๐
I will post here a recap of what have been said so far, so you can find the answers to your questions ๐
- More levels with **different grid sizes** - More tiles with **specific mechanics** - The timer will change to a **move counter** - **Losing** a level **will not restart** the whole room - **Mouse controls** will be totally reworked - Cloud **feedbacks for the blocks** when they move (and more feedback in general)
A very cool game to play alone or with your friends :D (The fact that there's an AI to play alone is great !), I like the ambience and the idea :) You should add a little tutorial in the beginning (explaining the game in the description isn't enough), so we can know what's the purpose and how the mecanics works, otherwise it's really fun, good job ! :)
Fun game, with cool graphics and awesome sound effects, as said above the diagonal combinations are a bit unforgiving, I think you should keep them, but not allow them to be generated one after another (that's the most difficult part of your game I think).
(P.S. : best volcano I've ever seen ๐คฃ)
Great concept, your art is really pleasing and fits your concept perfectly, add a little background music and your overworld will be perfect ! ๐
Being tricked by the map when it shows you the right elements, but not the right amount of entrances is an amazing (and evil) idea !
My only complaint is that going back to the furnace can become a little tedious, but that's still a great game I added to my itch account ๐
Amazing entry, I really liked playing it ! Graphics are amazing, music is amazing, gameplay is amazing !
I found a bug where you can infinite jump if you have an ally over your head (sorry if it already have been pointed out, there's a lot of comments over here )
Good job, and continue producing quality games like this one !
LD43.png
Really nice atmosphere, and awesome graphics! I will try to find all the endings later on ๐
Wonderful job on the mood and graphics, I was expecting him to go to bed as usual at the end, I guess I was trapped in the same routine as him ๐
Your light particles are awesome too by the way โค
Really well polished and fun game, I love the art!
I played until I got stuck on the bridge: When the goat who was wandering on the bridge was added to my followers, I was right in between the first and the last one, then got sadly stuck there ๐ข
LD44.png
Anyway, from what I've tested so far, you have an incredibly pro looking game here ๐ฎ The music fits perfectly the mood, the sound fx are really good (however I'm not a huge fan of the sound used for the girls when they talk), the mechanics are easy to understand and you have plenty of time to test what you have to learn before getting into the real stuff.
I will of course test the game again to have a complete view of your awesome work ๐
Great job, I'm looking forward to seeing more from you (have you got a Twitter account?)
Every point of the game was perfect to me: you have awesome graphics, "creepy but not to much" music, charismatic characters, the town is really pretty, and the theme is perfectly used. You even have a hilarious puzzle in the graveyard ๐
Your game is now first of my top 5 LD44 games โค Keep doing such an awesome job!
Your art is really incredible, and with some tuning on the difficulty you could have an awesome game! I have one question: what's the use of the skull we can find on the docks? I wasn't able to go really farther than that zone, so maybe it's useful later and I haven't seen it ^^
Awesome game, I really liked the risk of exploring that increasely grows, and trying to collect "one more coin" despite having 10 reds behind me ๐
And that's when I was surrounded that I discovered one more strength of your game: there is a way out of this, just think.
TL;DR: You did an excellent job, congrats ๐
That was a really great experience, is there a way to find the meaning of life as you stated in the description? I'm really curious ๐
Anyway, I will replay this one later ๐
Beautiful art and interesting experience โค
This is a perfect balance between an idle game and an actual game, it can get really stressful when you're overwhelmed by cultists ๐
The graphics and audio are really awesome too, if the click sound on the goddess was a bit lower it would be just perfect!
Here, take this, you deserve it! ๐
Very cool concept, I was also really impressed when I saw that there's 25 levels ๐ฎ I've tried a couple but I will definitely keep the game to continue later on, great job!
I really loved your game, the puzzles were well designed, I wish there were more levels where you play the grandpa, he's so hilarious!
"When I was your age..." ๐ด
@webox Don't be sorry, it's a good thing that people ask for more levels ๐
That was really great ๐ Short but long enough to make all of us want a full game, you have a pretty package now that's waiting to be expanded!
Good job ๐
Thank you all for your comments and I'm really sorry for this bug, it's indeed unattended. Our developer goes to bed right after the publication and I'm sure he will fix that issue as soon as he woke up (after 12 coffees โ). Have a nice day/night everyone ๐
Hi everyone, the developer here!
I found the issue, and a way to temporarily fix it: when you start the game, ** press Escape to skip the tutorial ** ๐ I'm working on the fix right now, thanks for your feedback!
@no-grapes-games @ayutazyumi @greon @bobrocks @sempiternal
@juba Thanks a lot! We really want to make new levels, we had sooooo little time during the jam to create levels that it frustrated us ๐ I think the mechanics could be explored more to create interesting patterns ๐
@nandon Thank you! We always try to deliver the best we can do ๐
@siryakko Merci beaucoup, et grรขce ร ton live on a repรฉrรฉ un nouveau bug ๐
@sheerochana Thanks ๐ we were supposed to have bones and blood particles too, but we didn't had time to integrate them ๐ข
@superpokeunicorn Thank you! Sadly we had not enough time to really test the game, but all that kind of details will be fixed for the future Google Play version ๐
@drauthius - Thanks a lot, we wanted to do something different from what we usually do, we have too many games where people say: "Ow, that's cute!", so we took the brutal way ๐ท๐
The wonky parts of the game could totally have been fixed if we didn't spend more than 10 hours to find the idea, but that's a part of the game we all play when participating in LD ๐
@jofersgames, @nikolaykuznetsov, @gerardb, @talyn - Thanks! We're glad you liked it ๐
@raisethedead - Thank you, I really enjoyed composing that music, the idea came really fast and I instantly worked on it, that was a real pleasure!
@dinorex - We cannot really hide our love for SMB on this one ๐
We will rework on the game, I think we have enough interesting mechanics to create more levels, and the game will be on the Google Play Store, and the App Store too normally ๐
@biebras - Thank you, and in the coming weeks (or months if we have too much work ๐), we will release a cleaner version of the game on the Google Play Store and the App Store (the code is really messy, I want to clean it up haha)
@jjjjason Thank you for your comment, I will fix that as soon as possible ๐ EDIT: It's fixed! Thanks again!
@bar Thank you for your feedback! Can you tell us what your screen resolution and your configuration is? We have tried it on Ubuntu but we can't reproduce this issue.
@grllle Thank you for your feedback! Could you download the last build? Then drag and drop the game to the Applications folder (this seems to be the only fix). Tell us if it work for you, thanks!
@arron-fowler, @tapehead, @eliphas, @vladydev, @michael-feldman, @petitpois, @zax, @firepit-games, @a-coltzz, @paulo-brunassi - Thanks a lot! We are working on new levels, including a real ending ๐
@mika-la-grand - It was easier to remove things earlier in the creation process, that value was later changed but that was not intended, we are working on a cleaner version where itโs working properly ๐
@peachtreeoath - Thanks, on the version weโre actually working on weโre pushing further the item combinations with new levels ๐
@miltage - Wow, thanks for the kind words ๐ We will implement a better tutorial system, where each thing will be clearly explained, the screen we have on this version was made really quickly a few hours before the deadline when we had tons of other stuff to finish, thatโs why we have a timer instead of a proper skip ^^
@zoneoutapps - Thanks guys, weโre glad you liked it! Stay tuned, weโre working on a cleaner version with more levels ๐
@bar - Thanks for the feedback, I will dig into this issue and hopefully solve it for the post-LD version!
@ivan-garcia-filho - The sounds were recorded in less than half an hour, I wanted to record more but had no time as Iโm also in charge of the music and the development, but I will try to work on the ambience for the new version ๐
@ddrkirbyisq - Sorry for the inconvenience, I will try to fix that issue on the version weโre actually working on. As for the bombs, they were really easier to use early on the development but the value for their maximum height was unfortunately changed before the deadline, it will be fixed for the incoming update ๐
The shield mechanic is really what I preferred about your game, timing it right felt sooo good ๐
The graphics are just what the game needs, as the music, everything fits really well together ๐
Great job!
A bit unforgiving, and I was sad that my own bullets didn't go through the walls as the enemies's ones did ๐ข
I really enjoyed your level design, it has a Super Mario Land feeling and I love that game ๐ Good job ๐
Interesting story and effective gameplay, that's awesome! Good job to the team ๐
(Poor daddy ๐ข)
Really cool game, the mechanic is great and well used, I hope you will continue developping it ๐
Cute art, but the game was easy, even with the collision bug stated before. If you spam the jump key, you can go outside the screen, never see the dragon again, and never have to deal with the witch.
Make the game harder, center the camera on the dragon (or limit its movement within the screen), and you could transform your entry into an awesome game, you already have a good foundation ๐
Good job ๐
Cute game, with beautiful graphics and perfectly fitting music ๐ I'm not sure I understood everything, but at least I had fun playing it ๐
Nice game, it takes a little time to adapt to the speed and mechanics of the creature, but once you got it right you feel pretty powerful ๐ช
I kept it in my downloads to try to finish later on ๐ Good job!
Great game, and awesome art! I played up to the wave 16, is there a way to finish the game (I thought maybe by buying everything in the shop) or is it endless?
The goblins's heads are really hilarious ๐
Interesting mechanic, and indeed awesome pixel art, especially for the overworld! Would love to see a complete game out of your entry ๐
It took a few tries to completely understand how the game works, but after figuring out it was enjoyable, it reminded me of Worms Reloaded when I crossed the entire map with the ninja rope ๐
That's an awesome entry, great job ๐
There's only one thing I would change if it was my game : don't make the music start again on a new level, let it flow, it's really nice but the levels are short, so you never really fully appreciate it ๐
A nice concept here, allowing multiple playthroughs without being repetitive, it just lacks some feedback on the fuels : what happens when one is empty ? Does it change something having it full ?
Graphics and music are working towards the same goal : making it feel polished, and that's working really well.
Great entry !
Awesome, that Metroid feel is what kept me playing and trying over !
Only 48 hours to make a game seems like it's easy for you when we see the result ! ๐
I brought darkness to the academy... Oops.
Sorry guys, my bad !
That was a wonderful journey ๐
The voice acting was convincing (especially the main character !), some of them were sadly too low. The graphics does just what we ask them, the music is perfectly fitting, and you have some really inspired and sometimes funny dialogs ๐
It's impressive that you brought us a long game with such content, great job to all the team, you deserve it ๐
Too fast for me but overall great idea ๐
Are you supposed to match what she asks when hitting the arrow keys ? I wasn't sure of what I was doing when I saw she was getting angry x)
The game could be interesting to develop further, I think the main issue with it is the lack of feedback (what are the numbers floating around for example), working on that could greatly improve the experience ๐
The music kind of reminds me of Spyro by the way, it suits well your ambience !
Nice job, gamers family ๐
Nice game, good pixel art and polish, a great submission for a compo ! Good work !
That was a really fun experience ! Putting the chili to the sauce pan was the difficult part, but that still stayed fun ๐
I love games where I can just mess up the whole place, and you did a great job at it !
I really liked your game. Sorry if something I say was already said, there's too many comments to check ๐
The graphics are amazing, and the sound effects and music suits perfectly your theme.
I think my only complain is that attacking your own structures should not be a thing. If your goal was to allow players to make space, a button near the tower that you have to click would have done a better job.
I ended up destroying one of my most expensive tower because I wanted to clear a bush (or plant, don't know exactly what it is ^^) on the map.
That's still a great game, I'm impressed of what you did there ๐
*Kiss* <3 <3 <3
Excellent game, all the texts (items, enemies types) changing depending on the place you visit just immerse yourself in the story, doing this with only ASCII art is a proof of good content !
The enemies names are fun by the way, everyone always wanted to kick a loudy kid (I think it was in the park) ๐
You should maybe center the game in the browser for better visibility ๐
First tries are a bit overwhelming when you don't really know what you're doing, you have to learn few things before starting a real playthrough.
I enjoyed the ambience, that poor professor running everywhere and drinking too much coffee made me laugh ๐ I read you want to remove coffee, but don't : having a way to speed up the character is a really good idea !
It took me 4 or 5 tries to succeed, so you achieved a huge goal : making a management game easy to learn. Great job !
There is some potential in your game, the graphics are nice and with a little backstory for an enhanced version you could have a really cool game ๐
@ghostrunners25 You're welcome, we're here to help and support each other after all ! ๐
I really liked it, you have a solid base for a complete game, fix what people suggested in the comments and go for it guys ! ๐
Sorry, the Windows link is now fixed !
@Tayfun We are aware of that bug, we will fix that as soon as we can :)
@Germanicus We are working on Game Maker Studio :)
@bbaf Being the only one girl on Earth makes her picky I guess ๐
@GameDevMumin Thanks a lot ๐
We had tons of work as this time we were only 2 instead of 3, but we're really happy with how it turned out !
@joemid I will add a "F" shortcut to toggle fullscreen. Have you tried "Alt + Enter" ? Anyway thanks for the feedback ๐
@zak-zeddam-zakaria Thanks, glad you liked it !
@Flatterp Yep, that could be a good idea ! Having her sitting all day is quite sad when you think about it ๐
@dj-depressive Yay another bug to fix ! Thanks for the feedback, I will check that now !
@pestodesign It was intended to have some ennemies spawn on certain waves, but we didn't had time to do it properly so everything is "unlocked" right from the beginning ๐
It certainly could be more balanced too, but meh, you know, time is short on a Ludum Dare ๐
And yeah, flaming cats rule ๐ฅ
@bros Does love really exists after all ? ๐
I totally agree with you, it needs further tweaking to really have a goal, we didn't really tested it on a long term run.
@pestodesign
๐ฐ - What you want as a result on the first day
๐ - What you got 10 minutes before the last hour
@joekinglake Thanks for passing by :)
Sorry for the hitting issues you encountered, it wasn't the case before you'd always hit the guys, thanks for pointing it out I'm going to switch it back to what it was, working when tired is not a good idea :)
@joekinglake Haha, no worries, I know what a browser can look like while a LD : the page of your game to see activities, and 67 other tabs with games waiting for you to play ๐
Thanks to you I fixed something I missed on my last build, so don't apologize you've been helpful even if you have not tested the game ๐
@yetman Thanks for the feedback, we had almost no time to tweak the game before the deadline, the post-LD version contains a better wave script, resulting in a more pleasant playthrough that is progressive and becomes challenging when you manage the controls :)
@rac-games Thanks a lot ! As said above, I have worked on the wave script to refine it but didn't implemented it in the builds, because I don't know if it can be considered bug fixing ^^
@joekinglake What a lovely comment you made there, thanks a lot ๐
We did not had time to better tweak the waves sadly, but we will work on a post LD version to make it a balanced and progressive game ๐
@joemid I'm forcing GameMaker to go fullscreen on launch, I think that is the issue, and as we can see on your screenshot we don't event have the icon in the task bar.
I'm going to fix display issues today, hopefully it will solve all your problems ! ๐
#### EDIT : it's fixed now, it will launch at 5 times the original resolution (256 * 144), and you can press F to enter fullscreen ๐
@leorototo Thanks a lot ๐
@rebecca-kremer Thanks for passing by, I'm finishing designing a new version of our itch page and I will play your game in priority after that ๐
Thanks everyone, every one of your games are in my top priority to play list !
@croewens We will totally work on a post LD version ! Where are you from ? We live in Liรจge ^^
@those-30-ninjas I totally will check !
@Chikoness We always put the priority on feedbacks and simple mechanics, I'm glad to see that people actually enjoy it that way ๐
@riordan Thanks a lot, we can't wait working on a more balanced version of it, it can have potential with more work ๐
@toulou Cat lovers never have enough cats !
We didn't had time to balance correctly the waves, that's my nยฐ1 priority for our post LD build (which I will build from scratch to remove all the junk code that ended up being not used)
@velocity7 Thanks for your enthusiasm ๐
@jsd Thanks a lot, I just tried your game and was about to write my review ๐ I will buff the presents for the future version !
@saintheiser Having fun is the most important thing in our game ๐
I had no time to tweak the waves sadly (we submitted 4 minutes before the end of the extra submission hour x) ), but I now have a new script that will be included in a post LD version that will make it fair, challenging and progressive ๐
@saintheiser
1) Interesting idea, I will see what I can do with it ^^ (I agree, it can be frustrating when it happens, depending on how low the love bar is)
2) You mean with two displays ? All my tests were ran on a single monitor, bad idea ๐
@saintheiser On previous builds the game automatically launched in fullscreen, that's why nothing was coded for it. I uploaded the windowed version only today and didn't thought about that.
Thanks for pointing it out, I'm working on it
Edit : Done ๐
Two styles that I like combined in a game, yeah ! The gameplay is hard to get at the beginning but what a cool idea ! Great submission for a compo, good job !
Nice concept, it deserves a full version, if you need help for the music I would be glad to help ๐
(Ca me fait bizarre de te parler en anglais ๐)
I really don't want to live there x)
Why people are so mean to her, I don't know, but that's so satisfaying to answer something clever and watch them lose their words ๐
There's more depth in the game than what the screenshots can suggest, I'm glad I tested it ๐ Graphics are cool, the music helps you keep motivation to go forth while being insulted and thrown rocks, that girl is really brave ๐ฒ
On the feedbak side, I think that rocks and insults are too fast compared at the speed at which the girl can protect, but that's a small thing to change.
Anyway good job !
Not sure for the theme (Female and male are pretty compatible, if you know what I mean).
The mechanics are really cool on the other hand, you should keep it and make a game with it, giving it a nice design and story could make hit something that would work on a store !
I also compose for my games and liked your music, nice job it was catchy and motivating :)
All your feedbacks are well thought, you know what's happening at any time without having a single sound. I also like the auto-switching on weapons, it avoids that feeling of repetitivity that could happen really fast on that type of games !
The art is beautiful and gives a nice touch over that.
We just lack a goal to keep playing I think (we have the same problem on our game due to lack of time), waves or levels would perfectly fit in there.
And as @dp3rucha said, I could walk outside the spawning area, making it easy to avoid zombies, maybe that's why I found it easy to survive.
Anyway, great job ! ๐
@rebecca-kremer We finally had time to play, it was a great experience ! I didn't read all the comments, but I'm pretty sure everyone agreed on how beautiful the game is ๐
The sound design is really well made, everything is where it should be, the music is facultative on this type of games.
I think we only lack a goal, or a sense of progression (a number of days to travel could fulfill it, or a music, more instruments adding to the theme while they love or hate each other, for example).
It is by far one of the most beautiful games I played on this LD, and the most soothing ๐
Great job guys !
With a bit of tweaking (on player speed and hunger depletion), you could greatly improve the user experience I think ! ๐
Overall it was fun to play ๐
09:45 and 201 commands ^^
And I'm from ElysiaGriffin stream too, my username is Halesgaar there ^^
The game is really cool, that ending was tense man ! But it was so satisfaying to finish it ๐ Great job on everything ๐
I just played your game, it is beautiful and the music fits the ambience really well (but it sadly does not loop on the build I tested).
Your mini games are interesting, but I think I found what the problem is with your controls (as it seems to be the recurrent subject in the comments ^^).
You ask people to do precise things with a ship that has an inertia way too strong (example : the room where you have to survive). I only succeeded in the "break-out" mini game, because movement is not so important in this one, even if I fell off the map a few times.
I can propose two solutions : * Keep the inertia, but make it impossible to fall off the map, by adding physical or invisible walls, and make the things you should avoid slower * Get rid of inertia, or tune it down (a lot), and keep the game the same
You have the ideas, you have the nice graphics, now you need the controls that suits them ๐
I hope I don't sound harsh, that stays my opinion and not a general truth, what I said is the kind of things you can really understand when you watch some other people play your game, it gives you the opportunity to take a completely different look of what you've done so far (which is nearly impossible during a jam sadly), if you want to develop the game further I recommend doing it ๐
