LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Hover Burner by TimBeaudet 2017-12-05T15:58:47Z

Cool racing game. The driving mechanics work well, it feels good on corners and the impact of hitting grass is perfect.

I didn't notice how this fit the theme at first. It's about how much gas you have vs how fast you go. I did notice this a little during gameplay, but it may help to exaggerate the impact a bit more.

Superstar Knight by Seththefirst 2017-12-05T17:21:25Z

This game has a nice feel. When you start you feel like you are starting a long adventure. I could see this growing to have a nice progression.

The fans bothered me and I killed them all so I kind of missed the point there. Interesting take on the theme though and I may come back to try building an army of crazy kids.

Super Awesome Mage Power Ultra Magic Madness by CocaPasteque 2017-12-05T17:04:53Z

The wizard looks great. Love the facial expressions as he becomes more and more insane. It's much too difficult for me though. I'm not good at Isaac like games, but still I felt like it was 1-2 shots and I'm done... a bit brutal for the early levels. I think with some balancing and the ability to remap controls, I could come back and enjoy playing this.

Ignorance is Bliss by Aurel300 2017-12-05T14:47:55Z

The game looks great. The visuals, sound effects, and music all contribute to feeling the time setting. I'm confused though :( Unsure how to progress in the game..

Cursed by Kerr 2017-12-05T19:54:36Z

I like the mechanic here. A lot of jumping off the walls and such keeps the pace up. I think this would make for a great multiplayer party page.

Boat&Friends by averagebrownie 2017-12-05T17:50:18Z

This game is surprisingly difficult. At first it seems like there will not be much too it and then the waves start rocking and it gets a little crazy. I was only able to get one package to the end.

If you forget about the goal and just rock the boat it starts flipping all over the place and is pretty entertaining to watch.

Critters Inc. by stefenism 2017-12-05T20:18:35Z

This game has a bit of an addicting mechanic. I got sucked in and can feel the need to try again and get a better score.

There is a bit of a learning curve that you need to help players through.

Usually the mechanic felt great, but once and awhile the suck or blow did not really do what I expected it too.

Danger Dolly by ambi 2017-12-05T14:02:17Z

Cool game. The controls are easy, I was able to catch a number of boxes. Then get a bit confused on the scoring. Trying to stack multiple packages on the dolly at once was difficult for me. Some additional scoring may make the game more rewarding / fun. The things I did didn't frequently have any impact on the score board..

The lost strawberry by egordorichev 2017-12-05T17:42:16Z

Cool style. I struggled with the controls a bit - that's on me, not the game... but I didn't far as a result. The game teaches you the mechanics as you progress through the levels. I think there is good potential here. And very impressive you were able to create so many levels!

CO2 Struggle by joewan 2017-12-05T15:48:26Z

We just saved the planet! GG. I enjoyed the game and felt the need to see it through to the end. Later game it starts to feel tedious, as there is one strategy that you focus on ... and then it's just a waiting game.

The Pointy Stick Hypothesis by peterthehe 2017-12-05T16:30:08Z

Very well written. This game had me laughing all the way through. The graphics, especially when you get out of the tent, looks great.

Domus by Nufflee 2017-12-05T14:34:55Z

Neat tapper type game that reminded me of a mobile Simpsons game I used to play.

Controls were easy to discover but the interaction with the houses did not make sense to me. It looks like they are needing power... so it took a minute to realize that it was a tap request.

Horny Bunny by Thomas FUentes 2017-12-05T19:09:20Z

This was... different. Cool idea, well executed. The bunnies are both cute and disturbing.

Lamattractive by Pandanym 2017-12-05T19:40:12Z

Unique take on a runner game where you end up slowing down over time. Still though the game manages to increase in difficulty as you go which is a challenge to get feeling right as typically slower means easier.

The visual and sound effects make hits satisfying. It's a good game. Even on easy though, I can't be the first level.

Cup-O-Matic by Masadow 2017-12-05T15:07:00Z

Loved it. The cupcakes are cute and the game makes you smile. It took a minute to understand the controls, but once you get going it's pretty fun. I could see myself coming back for more.

I also feel this fit the theme very well. Later in the game the cupcakes get so overwhelming I threw up my hands before actually losing the game.

RQ5: backup-dancer rampage! by Adrien Dittrick 2017-12-05T19:02:18Z

Great game! These puzzles are very well designed. Some levels introduce new mechanics in a very intuitive way (no reading required). I did not beat this, there are a lot of levels and they start to get hard. I may return to complete the game though. Well done.

The Cleaner by mateusculpo 2017-12-05T18:12:22Z

Interesting idea. The cats are cute. I like the cookie mechanic, it gives you a sense of progression from a scenario that otherwise could have felt like tedious coin collecting.

Fish Catchers by Sinci1 2017-12-05T17:29:59Z

Cool idea. The controls are easy and the difficult ramp seems fine. Given a little polish this could actually be a great casual game - maybe a mobile game.

DeLight by OnePlusOne 2017-12-05T15:17:52Z

The atmosphere is working - I was literally on the edge of my seat for this one. There are a few moments that feel a bit scary, but mostly it's just tense because you know there could be a monster anywhere.

The tradeoff you make by using the light is very clear to the player and works well. I found myself opting for less light and then getting in trouble for it.

To help with the learning curve, I think it would great if when I die the area lit up a bit so I could see how I died and avoid that in the future. There were a few times where I still am not sure what happened.

Torcher by RiverPirate 2017-12-05T15:27:09Z

I struggle with dark scenes, there are many games which are too dark for me. This one is really hard because even with the light on max I could barely see the ground.

I think there is potential here. The mood is dark and with a little polish it could be really depressing, if you are into that sort of thing =p

MiniDom (2-6 Player game) by cammy 2017-12-05T15:00:15Z

A start on what could be an interesting card game. Like the feedback above, I had trouble understanding the symbols at first. I also don't have any friends to play with - some single player experience would be great.

Fritten Madness Extreme - Diner Edition by FredR121 2017-12-05T16:50:40Z

Cool idea. The mechanics are pretty simple but leaves a lot of room to improve, giving a nice skill curve to progress on. It makes me want to play again and get higher on the leaderboard.

The walk to fries feels like it may be a little too long, and of course adding another food option could keep you engaged longer.

Party Maker by Sempiternal 2017-12-05T16:10:42Z

Those animations, Amazing! Simply watching the initial scene was entertaining.

The gameplay could use something. I couldn't find a way to fight someone without at least taking one shot.

Phool by ciaccodavide 2017-12-05T18:24:15Z

Great game. The controls and mechanics feel nice. Easy to play and you quickly discover some strategies. I could see myself losing a few hours on this.

The music was also spot on. It fit the game very well and seemed to progress with the pace of the game.

Interview at Cacophony by Christoph 2017-12-05T16:39:57Z

Interesting take on the theme. The difficulty ramps quickly and I was only able to get through a few levels. This game as a little bit of an educational feel, I could see it turning into a children's game helping them with listening skills and introducing them to music.

Loot Grabber by AndreB 2017-12-05T14:24:22Z

Great game! I really enjoyed the play-through. I did beat all three levels.

Mechanics feel great. There are various different enemy types. For the most part it's very clear what's happening and what to do.

I was a little confused by the UI and scoring.

Feed by Genesis 2017-12-05T13:54:17Z

I love the killer bean characters! The game was pretty easy to get started with. The difficulty ramps quickly... I'm not sure if my actions impacts how many beans attack me.

Music stood out. Excellent use of music as an indicator that the attack has started. As soon as I heard it, I knew what was happening.

The Greedy by taran.unraveler 2017-12-05T19:16:59Z

Interesting game idea here.

ColorShooter by skipyC 2017-12-05T18:02:22Z

Surprisingly fun for a typing game. I could see myself coming back to play this some more. A great start given the time, and could be great with a bit of polish.

Blue Star Spaceship by crazywulf 2017-12-05T20:02:07Z

LOL. More people should record their own sound effects.

The mechanics on this game work well. It has a good feel. The bad guys quickly overwhelm the screen and start to box you in, but then the super attack deals with them nicely.

It progresses well. Given time to add additional content, this could be a great game.

Me, Myself, And I by NabilAtSoulcade 2017-12-05T14:11:49Z

I love the gun. You feel powerful shooting that thing. Sound effects, screen shake, rapid/large bullets. It's great.

The gameplay itself seems to be missing a challenge. I stood still with the mouse down until the game started to lag from all the dead bodies.

The mechanics are very good though. At first it felt like a platformer and I still think maybe you could head that direction.
