Snake++ by Gnarly Narwhal 2017-12-05T09:08:14Z

The style is really awesome, and the gameplay is fun although it is a bit hard to get through the levels,Music is also pretty great. Overall a very good game :D

Wall Run by R3L0ad1 2017-12-04T19:38:29Z

This is an awesome game, i like the cutscenes, and the gameplay is a bit janky, but when it works it's super fun! Love it :D i especially love the menu, its so good :)

Wall Run by R3L0ad1 2017-12-04T19:47:30Z

The aesthetics and the graphics are awesome, the gameplay is a bit short, but still very good :)

Deleted by Strelly 2017-12-04T19:02:08Z

This is definitely one of the most unique games on here, i especially like how when you die, the score appears not instantly, but one by one. Awesome game :D

Just one more level by OnlySimple 2017-12-04T17:43:57Z

it was a very nice and addicting game, my only complaints is that there is no score text. Other than that its a pretty good game :D

Its still a awesome game :D

LD46 — Keep it alive

Dunkman by congusbongus 2020-05-10T21:44:31Z

Wow, this is an amazing game honestly! It’s polished, it’s fun, it’s innovative, I love the core gameplay loop, and while it is a bit challenging it’s still awesomely-fun! I sadly didn’t manage to get to the end, I attempted four times and almost got to the end all 4 times but didn’t manage to. I think the only minor complaint I have is that I wish the enemies were a bit more visible before they attacked, and that you can tell where they are going to attack, sometimes I get a bit confused on where they are going to attack and I end up losing a health, but that’s a very minor critique, honestly the game is super fun! I love it :D

Will of the Wisp by johnfn 2020-05-10T23:48:03Z

Wow wow wow, this game is amazing, I don't know where to begin, first of all it's amazing that you all managed to finish this for a game jam! like this is a game I would expect took like 6 months of work, not 3 days! but even apart from the fact that it's a game jam, everything is so well done and polished! I love the animations & the art, I love the music, the SFX design, the dialouge, the humor [it's great] the gameplay, and that before-ending [unfortunatley i did not expirience the ending because after the withers went away my game froze], I won't spoil it but that was unexpected. Overall I really love this game, the only problem is that there are serious lag spikes for some reason that made the game very hard to play, I'm not sure what's causing them, but even with them this game was a great expirience! Well done to all of you, well done!

Keep Plant Alive by adafish 2020-05-12T17:54:42Z

Wow, this game is really well made, the art is fantastic and the gameplay while a bit repetetive is fun as well, it's a shame it doesn't have more votes, when you guys participate in the next jam you should probalby play other people's games, as you can get more voters that way!

Finn the Fox by Daniel Conway 2020-05-10T23:05:19Z

Awesome job! the game is fantastic, I know a lot of people have already probably said this but I love the art style! the music is nice as well. And I just love the polish in general, such as the To-do-list tutorial, or how every level is different in some way, it's not just the same level but more difficult. Overall this is a really nice game, and I'm glad I played it :D

Keep it alive by Hexa3 2020-05-10T22:08:13Z

A simple but sweet game, the artstyle is neat, and the gameplay although simple is fun. I only wish there was a reason to get the logs after the bar is already full, maybe like a score or something, but other then that, I like this game :D

Protector Of Zinoth by Sinci1 2020-04-26T22:02:31Z

Thanks all for the feedback and the kind words, it means a lot! :)

@william-nomikos I see what you mean, while making the game I also realized that the difficulty curve increased drastically after the first level. I think the problem was that I made the enemies last, so I didn't have that much time to properly test them and balance them out, but still thanks for the feedback! if I ever expand upon this game I'll keep what you said in mind :D

Protector Of Zinoth by Sinci1 2020-04-26T22:26:39Z

Thanks for playing! yeah I should have made them a bit easier, especially considering they get introduced in the second level :p

Protector Of Zinoth by Sinci1 2020-04-26T22:46:56Z

Ah yeah, I think that is a technical bug on the side of unity, but I should have accounted for that as well. Either way thanks for playing!

Protector Of Zinoth by Sinci1 2020-05-10T23:43:29Z

@congusbongus Thanks for the kind words

@alxander Yeah near the end [ending of level 2, level 3] I made a big difficulty spike, looking back I probably should have toned the difficulty down a bit but I guess lesson learned for next time :)

@gimblll I really appriciate your kind words, Thanks

@hexa3 Thanks for the comment!

@groggi I'm happy you enjoyed it! and thanks for the nice comment!

@johnfn Well, that was the intetion, but I didn't know how to make it look like a shield without ruining the Space atmosphere :p

Protector Of Zinoth by Sinci1 2020-05-12T17:47:42Z

@notgreat Thanks for playing the game! Yeah that was by design, at first I wanted to make it so that when you press a button it shoots, but I decided that for this game it would be better if it had simple mouse controls, but if I ever expand this game, I might add more things for the player to do.

And yeah playtesting it again I do see what you mean and I agree. I shouldn't have made it so difficult, especially at the end :p

And as for your final point about the UI being behind the planet, that's actually really strange and it shouldn't happen? when I play it it seems fine to me, are you reffering to this or are you talking about something else? It might be a glitch with the different browsers 05_11_2020-03_28_08---bfSGwPAh---firefox_w.png

@mister-collette yeah, the difficulty was a bit too high. I would probably make it a bit more fair if I could re-do it. Still thanks for giving the game a go, it means a ton :D

@quinn-patrick yeah the scoreboard glitch is really weird as it doesn't happen on my computer. Anyway, yeah the difficulty did scale up a bit too much. And about your last point about the bullets coming it at once: I did want to try and make it so that the player can block all of the bullets, but it was more of a technical challenge then a design one :p, still thanks for playing the game and for giving valuable feedback :D

@baubau Aw thanks for checking out my website, and thanks for the kind words about my game as well, I appriciate it

@abdulla-shuhair Thanks for giving the game a go, I'm glad you found it fun! :D

@claytonrumley yeah, originally there was supposed to be a button that you could click to shoot, but I realized that the player would probably end up holding down the button either way, so I decided why add that extra step to make it so that the player has to hold down a button to shoot? Anyway thanks for providing feedback and for trying my game

Leap Of Faith by ryan123rudder 2020-05-12T19:41:18Z

I didn't manage to finish the game as I'm a bit short on time, but I like it, it has a nice art style and a unique moving mechanic. A piece of feedback I would give is that it takes a bit too long for you to be able to shoot again, but apart from that it's a great game! I might attempt to finish it some other time :D

Me: Tree! by Groggi 2020-04-26T22:37:43Z

I like this game, it's innovative and it's fun! although I have to admit it's really slow in the beggnings [both the post jam and the offical version for me], I think two things you could have done to make this a bit better is

1st. Make it so that the water has a purpose other then removing leaves. Maybe [I admit this would have taken more work but] you could have had something like a rock-paper-scissors system, where there are 3 elements, Energy, Water, and something else, maybe sun or something, and you get Water by spending energy, you would get energy by spending sun, and you would get sun by spending water or something. Writing it out loud it doesn't really seem like a good idea but basically what I'm trying to say is it would be nice if you could use water to expand your tree!

2nd. Another Idea is that you could make it so that depending on the size of your tree, you would spend less/more energy on creating a new branch. So for example at the start you would need only 3 energy to create a new branch, and as your tree grew, so would that number, so when your tree is bigger it would require 10 energy to create a new branch or something like that.

All in all I think this game has a ton of potential, and could be made into something awesome! you would just need to carefully balance the variables so that it's not too slow at the start but it's not too fast either.

Me: Tree! by Groggi 2020-05-10T22:36:53Z

Wow, this game really improved! [I'm not going to update my ratings since it's for the pre-jam version] but wow, this game is even more awesome now! it's much more balanced and polished I'm glad you continued to work on it :D

Dying Flame by BauBau 2020-05-10T22:00:37Z

Honestly this game is awesome, I don’t know why but I really love this game, the polish is great, like the transition between areas, or how the skeletons talk, the art is also fantastic to look at, the lighting looks beautiful, the gameplay is fun, I just love everything about this game, you all really did a fantastic job! I could really see this as a great full game.

The only critique I have is that the Dying Flame element of the game felt a bit disconnect from everything else, like you couldn’t really recharge it, or do anything with it, it felt like a timer without a purpose.

Overall I like this game a lot and I hope you'll do more with this in the future :D

Feeding Words by notgreat 2020-05-12T15:50:15Z

This was a super fun game! honestly words games are not really my thing but this was a fun take on the word game genre! This is also one of the more creative games I saw during this jam, for example I love how you incorporated the powerups, and how they use the chess move patterns. And the UI is really great as well, like the laser that connect the words and how it highlights which letter you can go on next.

My two main complaints would be that it was a bit hard to learn when I first booted it up, I didn't know why I kept dying, and I didn't know that you can use a power by clicking on it [like the Z ability].

and the second complaint is that after the second powerup it gets a bit too difficult for me personally, I think a mode selection [easy, medium, difficult] would be nice for this game.

Overall I think this is a fun game, and I could see it being a great full game as well!

Tanks For Nothing by SamLeCreator 2020-05-12T16:30:51Z

For being the most disliked fish he sure does get a lot of visitors :p I really liked this game, it's polished, the controls are intuitive and easy to learn. The music is awesome! and one of my favorite points is how balanced everything is, while it did get more difficult, it never felt like it was unfairly difficult, I love how you can use the money to stay alive longer, overall it's a really fun arcade game and I liked it!

P.S: My final score was 6:55, it was tough but I did it!

A 90s Game! by John Snyder 2020-05-10T23:14:52Z

A Decent game, I liked it! I liked the art style, and I also liked the general mood of the game, positives vibes! I also like how you made a pause menu, and the general polish such as making it so that different menu's have different themes!

The feedback I would give would be to give collecting trash a purpose, there wasn't really any incentive to collect the trash, maybe make it like you have to collect 50 trash and you would win the game. But apart from that the game is decent :D

DataHunter by A_ColtZz 2020-05-10T21:32:11Z

This is a quite nice game, here’s what I liked, the game was very polished, even though you didn’t make the art, I still think it’s a skill to put pre-made art & animations together, and you did that very well! For example I love the background animations, the screen shake when you shoot, all these little details that you didn’t have to put but you put it in anyway, I admire that :D

My only I guess real piece of feedback would be that while the game is super polished, I feel as if the gameplay could be improved, for example with the aiming, I would have liked to see maybe being able to hold UP and aim UP, or something along those lines, a bit more then where you look that’s where you shoot. Or with the levels, it would have been nice to explore more then one level [although I’m guessing you ran out of time, I can relate to that feeling :p]

Overall I do think that the game is super polished, from the character animations, to the shooting, to the UI [honestly the UI is awesome!] I do think in your next jam game you should take a bit more time to polish the gameplay , and when you do, you’ll have an awesome super polished game with polished gameplay!

P.S: I apologize if I was a bit too harsh, I’m really glad that you finished a gamejam game and I hope I do not discourage you from participating in future jams. I look forward to seeing your entry in Ludum Dare 47 !

Primed by gimblll 2020-05-10T22:03:22Z

Short but sweet game, polish through the roof, and the humor is great as well, I like this one! Just wish there was more to this game :p

Keep the Planet Alive by TheNumberYellow 2020-05-12T16:15:39Z

Good game! The artstyle is unique and has it's charm, I especially love how the game increases in complexity, but not being too overwhelming [well, the last level was a bit overwhelming]. The story while simple is nice as well! and I have to say that ending, I wasn't expecting that :p

Here are two bits of feedback that I have:

1. The last level was a bit too difficult, on the first try I died, and on the second at the start of the level I had 4 pieces of land, and at the end only one.

2. The controls are a bit confusing, especially on the last level when it gets really hectic, I think the controls could have maybe been a bit more simpler, maybe make it so that when you hold the down arrow it looks down, and when you let go of it it automatically looks back up instead of having to toggle looking up and down with the R key

Overall this is a fun and simple game that gets progressivly more difficult, and it kept me engaged till the end, I like it a lot :D

Keep It Alive by William Carlisle 2020-04-26T23:50:40Z

Neat little game! I didn't manage to fill the plant bar since I needed to collect a lot of purple blobs, but it is a fun game! I liked it

DemolitionX Jam by scsc 2020-05-12T16:44:24Z

This is quite a big project for ludumdare, multiplayer & it being a 3D game is a very difficult thing to be able to make in a jam, so it's amazing that you managed to pull it off! The game itself is rather fun, I like how the car dynamically gets damaged, depending on how much health you lose. and I also like the game in general, it's a neat game. I'm guessing the models are from the asset store since it's hard to model a full car for a jam game, so I won't rate it on the graphics section [although if you did make the car, first of all wow, and second of all let me know so I can update my rating]

Overall I like the game, it's a big project for a game jam, and it turned out really well considering how big it is. Gameplay wise I'm not really sure what the point is, I personally don't really like driving games so it's probably not for me. but I can't say that I dislike it considering how much effort appears to have been put into it :)

Life Alive by ClaytonRumley 2020-05-12T17:35:28Z

I don't really understand Conway's game of life, so this game on a personal level didn't really click with me, but I have to say even though as a player it didn't click for me, as a dev I have to say this gmae is really polished, first of all I love how it's multiplayer, I mean it's difficult making a multiplayer game already, but making a multiplayer game for a jam is amazing! not to mention some of the other polished elements, such as allowing the player to watch what's unfolding from a bird eye's view. Or how when the player moves it plays a sound effect. Stuff like that makes this game a nice expirience, even if you're not familar with Conway's game of life :)

Hacker Boy by Connor0Wolf 2020-04-26T21:54:42Z

Wow, when I opened this game my jaw dropped from the polish! even though it was made by a team of people the polish and the attention to details is amazing! and the gameplay after you get the hang of it is fun as well! My only two main critisism's would be that the text is a bit too small to read, and in a game where time is crucial it's a bit annoying. The second complaint would be that some puzzles are a bit hard to understand, for example the ABC123 puzzle I couldn't really grasp on time.

My suggestions would be to just make the text more readable, and also maybe make like a training level [I get that this is game jam and the game is super polished so you probably didn't have time for this, but] basicaly it would be like a level where you would learn all the different hacks and you would learn how to combat them! But apart from those two complaints the game is really well done!

Super Survival Ball by Quinn_Patrick 2020-05-12T17:24:30Z

Decent game, I liked it, although at one point it felt like I couldn't really die unless I got bored, but I liked the game overall!

SeaTurtle Safety Squad by PrimalShadow 2020-04-24T14:42:05Z

This is a nice game! I loved the art and the polish is awesome as well! for example, I love that the pickable objects are highlighted so you can know what items you should move! another thing I love is that you can sacrifice the crabs to the seagulls, it's a nice detail! Although I think some things can be improved upon:

1. I think that the game is a bit too long, if you die near the end [Like I did multiple times] you have to start all over again. I think what you could have done to fix this a bit would be to make it so that it's only like 10 meters, however, the closer you get to the end, the harder it gets, with more seagulls spawning & more crabs spawning as well.

2. There wasn't an initiative to try to save all the turtles, so after trying a few times I found it was best to eliminate all the turtles and keep only one :p, since then it was easier to just save one turtle, and there weren't any setbacks to doing this. A suggestion would be that you could make it so that the fewer turtles you have the harder it was, more seagulls and crabs would spawn, there would be more trash or something like that.

3. I think this is more of a technical bug but on two occasions I had only one turtle and a crab spawned right under it and the turtle died. A suggestion would be to make it that crabs can't spawn near turtles or that you can scare crabs before they can spawn.

Overall it was a nice experience, it was a bit long, but I think it fit the theme perfectly, and I managed to get to the end, and I had a fun time while doing so!

Station Escape by hydrogen18 2020-05-10T22:30:10Z

I like this game, I like the space rats, :p, the UI is polished, and I can see that you spent a lot of work on this game because it really shows, I like the amount of content, and I like the game in general! :D [although there was a technical problem which was that the resolution was messed up, so I couldn't really finish the game sadly] And it's a shame that you only have 3 votes, however, since I see that this is your first jam, Here are some tips that I think you should try and do in your next game-jam

1. Make a web version, the majority of people don't want to download a game and would much rather play it in the browser, so if possible it would be great if you could make a web version, since then more people are more likely to play it!

2. Play & Rate & Comment on other people's games, I see that you have rated 0 games so far and I get that, you're probably busy, or you just don't have the motivation to play other people's games, but it's worth it. For starters, you'll be more active in the community! You'll try other people's games that they made over the weekend, and, one of the main things is that if you play other peope's games, then your game is more likely to get recommended, Ludum Dare has a system where depending on how much games you played the more likely it is that your game will be recommended to people, and apart from that system if people see that you played their game they will generally try out your game as well! so I highly suggest that you play other people's LudumDare submissions.

3. Market your game! what I mean by this is post your game in [game dev] discords, on the Ludum Dare front page [by making a new blog post] etc. but don't go overboard, if you overpromote people might get sick of you constantly promoting your own game, try to promote your game enough so that people see it, but not too much so that people get sick of it.

4. Make a tutorial for your game! if you don't have the time to put it in the game, then you can write on the ludum dare post the controls, what's your objective, etc. That way people can know what they need to do in the game [I was a bit confused with the controls for this game at the start, I wasn't sure how to move!]

5. And finally, have fun, this one is a bit of a cliche, but a point of a game jam is to have fun! to learn new things while making a cool game and participating in an event. I geniunly hope to see you in Ludum Dare 47 with your new gamejam game! seeya then :D

SUBMERGED by SaadSirius 2020-05-10T22:56:23Z

Nice game! the art style is unique and it looks great, and I love how the UI design is a part of the enviornemt, honestly the whole game is great, it's just that the third level is a bit too difficult and long, I tried to complete it 2 times but I died both times sadly, but overall I like how the game turned out :D

SAVE THE DINOS! by marcusnystrand 2020-05-10T21:09:14Z

This is a fun mini game! I liked it a lot, the art style is nice to look at, and the gameplay loop is short but fun as well :D, the only two things that I have feedback about are that 1st. I found that around a minute and a half, or 1:30, the meteors become so frequent that it’s super hard to avoid them, and usually I die at around that time, [my final highscore is 1:35 btw :p]. and the 2nd thing is that I’m not really sure what purpose does having more dinosaurs serve, like it’s easier I think to have just two dinosaurs, and then try to defend those dinosaurs.

I think if you expand this game in the future, you could maybe design it so that the dinosaurs give you a certain currency, and the more dinosaurs you have the more of that currency you have, and that currency can help you buy upgrades or equipment, and that equipment can help you defend against the meteors more, or something like that.

Overall it’s a fun mini game, and I liked it :D also the fact that you can pause is a nice feature as well, so many games don’t have it [including mine :p], so I like that you added it!

I am Dog by Craig Cordeiro 2020-04-26T22:01:31Z

HOG n DOG by Ava Skoog 2021-11-03T22:25:11Z

an elegant and polished game, very well done! I don’t really have a much to say tbh, it’s very polished which is great and I have to say I loved the theme too, taking the classic story-tale of the three pigs and making a game which actually fits the theme really well!

Only thing I will note, though, is that I think this would work better as a non endless game, as a game where there’s levels, and each level the wolf could return an X amount of times, and the focus being more on utilizing the pieces long enough that you survive each level.

I understand though this was a game jam and honestly for a game jam the endless game approach is probably the best [it’s what I did too! :p], I’m just saying if you ever plan to expand the game, I think the level approach would be better!

All in all a short, greatly polished, and creative game! [final score was 7, btw]

That stable looks pretty unstable by pcmaster 2021-11-03T23:19:28Z

Oh wow, this is awesome! It’s simple, not a lot to it, but it’s still an enjoyable experience, with really the only complaint being that I wished there was more to it! Props for making this in 8 hours!

Heating plant tycoon by Hadik 2021-11-05T02:25:52Z

this game is… a bit complex, but after I got it, I would say it was decent fun!

the UI is very nice, I like the art style and even the song does add to the overall feel of the game. I will just say though, the controls were a bit unintuitive, as well as a bit of the design… The controls, I’m mainly talking about the disconnect feature, it’s rather inconvenient. Three facts, 1). that you have to move your mouse to click the disconnect button, 2). that you can’t click on the pipe rather you have to click on the building to remove ALL the pipes attached [which is inconvenient when you have a splitter and you only want to remove one pipe], and 3). the fact that when you’re finished you have to click another button. Usually I want to remove only one pipe, so the fact that it doesn’t cancel itself automatically was a slight hassle. I think a much simpler, and easier system, would be for you to be able to double click, or left click on the pipe and that would delete the pipe. Or maybe you could hold shift, and then everytime you press a pipe / building with the shift button down, it disconnects.

And the design, mainly the art on the balancer and splitter. The art is honestly great as a whole, but I feel it’s a miss with these two item..

First of all the balancer I think is simple and intuitive, and a visual change I’d suggest is to alter the start position of the pipes [accidentally called them wires but see below]. But what I don’t get is the splitter, since the balancer and the splitter have the same core principle, one input, two outputs, why is the splitter flipped? I do think both should be facing as the balancer is facing, since the starting factory is on the left [the input], and the houses are on the right [the output].

And getting to the elephant in the room… the complexity… This game took a while to get, I was a bit confused by the function of the different devices, as I said above the control scheme was a bit confusing, the wall of text tutorial, and overall this game did take me a while to get… …

however, however… I can say that after I did manage to get it, after I understood the mechanics… that it actually was solid then. I’m usually not that big a fan of these types of games, however once I understood and got into it, it was legit engaging and fun. Bit stressful at times, but it fits with the theme greatly!

And look, I apologize for being a bit harsh with the review, this was an ambitious project, and I have to say props for getting so much done, from the speed up feature to the town building by itself to all the other mechanics and getting it all to work with almost 0 bugs, that is commendable. And the game itself, once I understood, was legit engaging, it was fun setting up different factories for different types of buildings, and I had a good time! It’s just that there are a few nooks and crannies that need to be leveled out, mainly in the complexity department, that once they are, I think this will be a solid mini game all around!

TL;DR: Main complaints are A). the controls [disconnecting pipes], B). the design of the splitter & balancer, and C). the complexity. However once I got it, the UI, the background music, the gameplay, and the ambition, all combined to make a pretty solid & fun experience!

Once again I apologize for the harsh tone, props for making an ambitious project and I hope to see your entry next jam!

Here's where I was at, btw! 819_11-05-2021_Time-03-26-48_ApplicationFrameHost.png

SlingPoint by uvwar 2021-10-21T18:51:50Z

this was surprisingly fun, but I feel it could be improved. I think a small problem here is that the high score is capped, once you get rid of all the cubes, that’s it, you can restart but then the score resets. I think it would be better if there were fresh cubes spawning, maybe even falling down, and you have to catch them and fling them to the purple thing.

Another small complaint is more on the technical side, I had to move real slowly because when I moved quickly it would start spinning and couldn’t stop, and I couldn't grab the cubes no more, so there’s that too.

But honestly for what it’s worth I really liked this game, it was a fun few minutes, well spent!

That Time I Opened A Terminal With A Lot Of Cat Pictures But They Did Not Matter by alaah 2021-11-05T03:08:14Z

An interesting project, though I personally don’t really get it. On the first attempt I typed in cat, after which it froze and I had to reinstall. Then I installed it again, this time I couldn’t type in the password for whatever reason, no text actually, in the password section. I had to reinstall one last time, and this time… I still couldn’t type the password, but after I managed to hop in after spamming random characters, I think it was a failsafe feature or somethin.

Anyways once I got in I looked around a bit, and honestly props, I don’t know how much of this you made but if you did the commands and stuff it’s impressive considering it’s under 3 days. I read the emails, tried out the commands, and ultimately I didn’t really figure out how to get the passwords for the emails so I called it a day there, typed in cat again, and that was that.

A rather ambitious project, don’t really get it as I ain’t really fluent with terminals [I know what you said but… I wanted to give it a try], but props for making something, and something unique too!

The Space-Ton Device by Sinci1 2021-10-21T17:36:41Z

@hadik Thanks for playing! Yeah sadly for the audio, near the end of the time I realized I didn't have any audio, wanted to add something, so I picked a random 8bit sound effect to add And as for the graphics I was going for a pixelated look but thanks for the feedback, I think if I began a bit earlier I could've polished it up a bit more, but sadly I didn't, rip. But anyway thanks for the honest feedback, I really do appreciate it!

@alina-baybulatova Thanks for playing! And thanks for the comment, I'm glad you liked it!

The Space-Ton Device by Sinci1 2021-10-21T18:14:44Z

@zinny11, Oh wow, yeah you're right, I think that would've been a better approach. I did have a bit of difficulty balancing the difficulty [double pun not intended], experimented a bit with different weights and speeds and ultimately I did accept the fact that it was gonna be a difficult game. But the blockades idea legit could've balanced the game out a lot more. Either way thanks for playing!

The Space-Ton Device by Sinci1 2021-10-21T19:08:03Z

Thanks all for playing and for the feedback! I appreciate it!

The Space-Ton Device by Sinci1 2021-10-21T19:18:08Z

@alaah Thanks for playing, I appreciate it a lot! I did actually experiment with that sorta control scheme, but I found it a bit too confusing, as when I got overwhelmed I didn't know which one I was controlling, thought that might've just been me. And thanks for the heads up regarding the builds!

The Space-Ton Device by Sinci1 2021-10-21T19:43:06Z

@samuel-fine I didn't think of that, now that you mention it this probably would feel a lot better on a controller

The Space-Ton Device by Sinci1 2021-10-21T19:47:14Z

@python-b5 Thanks for playing and for the kind words!

The Space-Ton Device by Sinci1 2021-10-21T20:14:30Z

@skleembof Yeah, originally I was going to have a mini tutorial, but I couldn't find a way to implement on time unfortunately. Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback too!

@peace-of-cake-games thank you! There was a glitch with the pixel effect, where it applied to the text as well as the game, and I sadly couldn't find a way around it, that's why the text might be hard to read. Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

@pcmaster Yo thanks man, I know I know, I did scuff it a bit this year, both with the making of the game and with the rating , hopefully next year I'll plan out a bit better, but thanks for giving it a go, appreciate it!

Thank you all for playing the game and rating it, can't believe we got over 20 points. Though the playing & rating is over I do hope to try out all of your games, no promises but hopefully. Peace out and I hope to see you all next year!

Sitter by NoahRo 2021-10-21T19:13:05Z

an interesting game indeed, but I think I had fun? I don't really know what the different colored things did, so I sorta random spammed, and then the guy died... but still it was a fun experience.. I think... The art is definitely nice though, I like the aesthetic

The Landscape Hates You! by RonanRory 2021-11-03T22:03:40Z

I liked it. The vibe is cool, sorta that newgrounds feel, and the gameplay mechanics are also simple but interesting and unique enough to be engaging, and they’re fun. Overall while it was a bit rng at times, I didn’t have any problems playing and beating it, the opposite actually, it was fun and a cool short little game. Glad you finished it mate!

Fire Orb by Wargon 2021-10-21T18:25:47Z

This was a fun game. It’s simplistic, but still fun. The mini tutorial was a nice touch, and honestly the whole feel of the game, the doom aesthetic, the map, the destructible terrain, and the fireball [I love that the more you power it up the more powerful it is, very nice touch], it all combines to a very nice experience. I think my main complaint would probably be variety, like maybe if there were powerups, or new enemies being introduced, not just the two, or a wave system, it would add to the fun factor and would get me hooked more. But despite that, as it stands it’s a cool game, my high score was 3022 kills with the fireball spam + charge up strat, glad to have played it!

The Lunatic by Samuel Fine 2021-11-03T22:35:19Z

what a creative concept!

Props for finishing the game, honestly this concept is unique I haven’t seen it before, and the execution is solid too, the levels utilize the concept great, especially the last level! [though as the commenter above me points out, perhaps there were other possible level design ideas to further flesh out the concept]

It fits with the theme, and really my only complaint would be how in some levels you have to wait a lot in order to time your jump, sometimes I’d die, then I have to wait until the orbit completes, then die again, and I’d end up waiting for most of the time.

Not sure how one could fix this though, since the timing is part of the game.

Anyway either way a cool game with a cool concept executed cool-y!

Disconnection Bridge by matthewrobo 2021-10-21T18:33:52Z

a simple, yet engaging game. The difficulty was a bit much but honestly props dude for adding the feature where the triangles jump when there’s no platform below. If it weren’t for that I think the game would be way too difficult but how it is with that, it’s fun! I will just say I think the controls are a bit strange, I got used to it but I think the left arrow / right arrow approach would’ve been better. Ultimately it aspires to be a simple game and fun, and it succeeds in that department, final score was 21, props for finishing the game!

Silly Skateboarding by Richard08 2021-10-21T19:22:07Z

Fun, simple, and surprisingly difficult. I had a good time, I love the polish too, very nice

Grim Tripper by Skleembof 2021-11-03T22:59:37Z

Props for making this in 3D, it’s ambitious to make any game in 3D, let alone a game jam game! The core cool mechanic feels good, you nailed the sorta tugging feeling, and it is fun as a core concept!

However as you said, you didn’t have enough time, and as such the game is a bit lackluster, mainly in the “point of playing” aspect.

The core mechanic is fun but there’s no real point, as you said there is no win condition [which I had to find out the hard way :p], and there’s no threats either, so it’s more of a sandbox game.

I do think if this game got polished, if there was a sort of “endless-then-upgrade” system, akin to learn to fly 2, I do think this could be somethin’ solid!

As it stands though it is more a proof of concept then a full game, but it’s still fun nonetheless!

Pile Up Medieval by zimny11 2021-11-03T21:56:10Z

This was legit fun, the first impressions were cool, I liked the title sequence with the gravity. And when I began the game at first it was decent but I wasn’t impressed, I noted down that this game wasn’t really fun because there was no goal + you could just spam the buildings, it wasn’t a challenge to balance them…

boy, was I surprised when the dragon came in. I got a bit jumpscared by it, too, with the sudden shift in music and visuals.

Anywho I died, and my first thought was that you had to build a pile so large that the dragon eventually gives up and you win, so I gave it another go, spammmed the buildings, and when the dragon arrived… I died again.

After this I checked the comments because I was lost, and I found the “the-crane”’s comment, and your response, saying to hover over the buildings and to see the requirements… and then it clicked.

It took a few attempts, but I did manage to finally beat the dragon in the end, and I had a lot of fun too.

My main complaint would have been how there’s no indicator that you can hover over the buildings, but in retrospect it was rather fun trying out to see what worked. I guess my feedback now would be: keep the dragon as is, don’t reveal it, but when you die to the dragon perhaps have text that says “Hint: Hover over the buildings on the side”, or something like that. But honestly even without that the game is great as it stands, great job on making it and making it fun in a short amount of time!

Unstackable by DCorp123 2021-10-21T19:51:31Z

it's a classic game but it is well done. The song fits the mood, and although the graphics aren't super detailed, it feels rather cartoony which I do like, the look is cool. I did notice a few glitches though, for one sometimes the boxes randomly rotate which might've been intentional but it doesn't feel like it was. And also you can spam the space button to get a high highscore easily, without the glitch I got to 9 or 10 [as I was putting the 10th box it fell], and with the glitch I got 21. Anyway all in all a cool game, fun, and I like the vibe, the song and the aesthetics, good job!

Everything is Fine by Noire 2021-11-03T21:32:24Z

Wow, this is a really well done experience! The beginning got me hooked, I love how there’s no wall-of-text tutorial but by clicking around I managed to get the jist of it real quickly, great design, and as the game progressed I have to say the storytelling method is superb. At first the multiple computers, I thought it was glitch with the game, but then I realized it’s because he was seeing multiple computers and had to focus, that feeling of getting it without any verbal explanation is executed very well. Another instance of this I liked is with the therapist, how he explains how to put the words together but the only options you seemingly have are to put two incompatible things together. I have to reitirate that the storytelling is very well executed, it’s quite a feat to understand a story with literally zero text explaining [minus the title’s screen “Everything is fine-bar”, :p], great work!

The art is cool too, pretty well done, emulates the sad feeling fairly well.

It is a bit unfortunate how we didn’t get to see who was at the door at the end, though I suppose not all things can be answered, ey? Anywho really the only main “complaint” I’d have, is that there’s no gameplay initiave, if this was a longer game if you didn’t absolutely get hooked on the story there’s no reason to keep playing. Maybe this doesn’t really need fixing, but if you are going to make a full game I think more fun/engaging gameplay elements [difficulter puzzles, perhaps reflex-based puzzles too], which still contribute to the story, would greatly improve the experience and keep the player more engaged.

Anyway blabbing aside all in all a solid game with a great storytelling approach, solid art, but gameplay mechanics that perhaps are in need of improving, making the gameplay as well as the story engaging. Great job!

....To the Ends of the World and Back by Peace Of Cake Games 2021-11-03T23:11:02Z

a neat experience.

Creative gameplay, I liked the control system, how you turn with the mouse, and the 3D star effects all add to the level of immersion which is well done.

The way of telling the story was unique, though it was more or less like reading a book it, combined with the gameplay, was definitely unique, and the story itself, while not super deep, was rather enjoyable.

Overall I like this, it’s creative, and it tells a neat little story, would've liked to see something happen at the end in regards to the story, but still, as it stands it's a solid little experience

Space Jalopy by SageMade 2021-10-21T18:11:14Z

This is a cool game! I’ll admit when I began I jumped straight into it, didn’t read the description, so I was a bit confused [and tbh even after reading it, it still was a bit confusing]. But once I got the general jist of it, it was fun! I love the mechanic of moving two characters at the same time, one as the base ship, the other as the robot that helps the base ship. The art style, while simplistic, is cool too, I love the colors in particular. I suppose really the only complaint would be the confusion which I do admit was my problem for being too hasty but I think if you plan on making this a full game, an interactable tutorial in-game is a definite must.

A few other things: I think this game could use a bit more polish, mainly when attacking the enemies, a sound effect when you hit the enemies, not just shoot/kill the enemies would be cool, and maybe the enemies flashing white when you hit them [the first time I was killing an enemy I thought my guns did no damage!] and the sensitivity was a bit much too, I get that’s part of the unstable theme, but I would lower the sensitivity just a tad bit.

The menu’s really cool too, it’s a small detail but I like the background, very cool!

Overall ultimately due to my lack of time I didn’t try out the game to the extent it deserves, I still don’t get what the boxes do or what the money’s for but I’m sure if I continued playing I’d figure it out! A cool game, only main complaint being no in game tutorial [which is totally understandable, it’s a game jam after all], and I think if polished, with the unique game mechanic and cool art style it could be a real awesome experience!

A Gift in Good Faith by python-b5 2021-11-04T11:56:41Z

This was fun, very challenging, but fun! The theme is a bit loose but honestly this was fun, it was very challenging at first, even later on too, but figuring out the strats on how to time it right was engaging. And also thank you for adding the small half tunnels, at first the push and torch feature wasn’t enough but the half tunnels really added to the game. Overall a challenging and fun experience, props for finishing!

Watch Your Step! by Rmu 2021-10-21T19:30:56Z

Unfortunately it was way too difficult for me to finish the game, as I'm a bit tight on time, but I did get to the second level and I have to say I like it. I think there should've been a checkpoint system, it's a bit sad how if you die on the second level, you have to start all the way back from the first level. But at the same time that could add to the fun too, replaying the levels over and over until you memorize the patterns and win.

Overall it's a fun game, the sliding mechanic is cool, no real main complaint, maybe only to add a secondary difficulty option where when you beat a level there's a checkpoint.

Bloody Sheepfold by VincentSergent 2021-10-21T19:05:20Z

a fun game, bit glitchy in places, but I liked it! Had to play it a few times to get the jist of it but once I did it was fun, managed to get a victory too! All in all a decent game, I liked it
