Presentation is slick and I like how the movement works. I cant figure out how the score is calculated, I also cant figure out why the thing is swinging around my mouse so hard or how to make it not. Its good that theres a gif showing how it works, I just wast really able to have that kind of control. I like the motion though and I see promise here. Thanks!

this isnt even a game

beasrabbit 2021-10-04 02:28

A bit erratic with the white cube's following, but simple and addicting gameplay. I played quite a few rounds and topped at 38!

nethead 2021-10-04 02:30

looks nice and the idea is interesting, the scoring seemed inconsistent though? sometimes I'd toss cubes into the pink area and get no points, or i'd randomly start getting points and wasn't sure why lol.

cyanowski 2021-10-04 02:40

I wasn't sure how it worked, but enjoyed gathering up the cubes

uvwar 2021-10-04 02:50

@nethead Yeah, I was struggling in having everything be visible but still scorable. The perspective is a little confusing in that its very flat, but still 3D, so you can score points even if stuff flies deep into the background as long as it hits the pink cube, but not if it goes over or under.

Congratulations for the game I really liked it, at first I thought it was just to play with sticking the cubes together, but little by little I understood the game's proposal, it was creative! I appreciate if you can give your feedback on my game too, a big hug!

cool idea but sometimes i sling my cube and it never comes back... and I would have loved to have a smaller target and different scores based on where i hit the target... a few sound effects would have helped a lot... good job

I'm a simple woman: I see cube I sling it around like a football except I'm not very good at football

Neat toy! I included it in my Ludum Dare 49 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/TOwEHY_25bQ

Looks nice, but I dont get one thing. Why fling cubes when you can slowly move them to score area?

freeworld 2021-10-21 17:02

Interesting concept and it looks very nice! I mostly failed and the cubes flung all over the place though :D weee

fis 2021-10-21 18:39

It's really interesting - and very unstable. Well done - I achieved a high score of 50 :D

ava-skoog 2021-10-21 18:43

Unstable indeed but I wonder if a bit too much? 😅 It felt pretty good at the start but then it got so out of control that I felt like I really had no influence over how well I was doing. The cubes being 3D is a neat touch and there's something quite satisfying about the way they clump up, like sugar crystals or something.

sinci1 2021-10-21 18:51

this was surprisingly fun, but I feel it could be improved. I think a small problem here is that the high score is capped, once you get rid of all the cubes, that’s it, you can restart but then the score resets. I think it would be better if there were fresh cubes spawning, maybe even falling down, and you have to catch them and fling them to the purple thing.

Another small complaint is more on the technical side, I had to move real slowly because when I moved quickly it would start spinning and couldn’t stop, and I couldn't grab the cubes no more, so there’s that too.

But honestly for what it’s worth I really liked this game, it was a fun few minutes, well spent!

pretty fun. more of a toy than a game. a bit too chaotic though

skleembof 2021-10-21 19:01

The idea is pretty cool but it feels very broken. The main issue is that the physics are way too unpredictable. I don't understand why cubes sometimes fly away from me, or why my cube loses control and starts rotating violently around the mouse.

If you manage to fix the physics and make them easier for the player to predict, then I think you should prevent the player from moving the mouse over the purple square. Make it so that they have to fling the cubes towards the target instead of just walking them over. You could also add some target zones where the player can try to get the cubes to land on them for extra points.

A game like this is very hard to play test and polish in 48 hours so I still think you did a very good job given the time constraints. You got most of the work out of the way in only 2 days, so you're in a good position to turn this into a more polished experience if you wanted to.
