LD44 — Your life is currency

My Life is Not Currency by rjhelms 2019-05-18T03:05:19Z

Enjoyable. I would've like to see more gameplay elements though! Still, good fun.

Chimera by Omiya Games 2019-05-18T04:26:14Z

Collecting my third arm was such an "ah-ha!" moment. Loved it! Loved the atmosphere, loved the exploration. Most of all, I loved the post-game view of your character. Very impressive!

Slave Story by Dining Philosopher 2019-05-18T03:44:19Z

Wow! I didn't expect to see such an emotive text-adventure in LD! Your writing was brilliant, and really made us feel responsible for the characters. Great job!

Brothers in Prejudice: Colombian Bam Bam by pudding 2019-05-18T04:38:09Z

Enjoyed it. Loved the explosions especially. Overall fun to play.

HoldTheButton by Zitao YE 2019-05-18T03:33:41Z

I really enjoyed the exploitative nature of this! It felt good to mess around and figure things out! I'd love to see it finished tbh. :)

Galaxy Explorer by jondalnas 2019-05-18T04:01:46Z

Great concept! The gravity works really well, at times I felt I could get myself in orbit, which was fun. The builders were under explained though, and I had no idea what did what, or even, what I was supposed to be doing. Add some tooltips or something and I'm sure the galaxy will be a lot more explore-able! :D

Vampire Drift by Shess 2019-05-21T00:38:15Z

I absolutely loved it. The interface was well fleshed out and explained what every item was, but the quality of the racing mechanics totally caught me off guard. I was not expecting to see such a well refined drift mechanic, let alone great enemy AI in a Ludum Dare game! Awesome job!

goldenpixel by klekky 2019-05-15T05:08:23Z

Love it, super hard, but love it. Movement and shooting are on point. Good work!

Zoltan's Idea by Fanu 2019-05-18T02:55:08Z

We loved it! The storyline was brief, but to the point, and utterly enjoyable! We enjoyed choosing cats and trying every minigame for variety. Well done!

Fluffensnuff by Rongo Matane 2019-04-30T10:00:17Z

I played to level 12 and was completely enthralled the entire time. This is a brilliantly crafted puzzler that kept me interested and compelled to finish the next level. I absolutely loved it, even if it didn't match the theme all that well. Great work! :D

Knock Knock... The travelling soulsman by Angry Squirrels 2019-04-30T09:08:11Z

I absolutely loved it! Beautiful game, beautiful idea. You've done brilliantly!

Band of Brothers by Arqcenick 2019-04-30T08:45:56Z

Loved the style a UI, but got stuck trying to raid a keep. Just waited to run out of gold until the game ended. ':D

Business Cat and the Literal Loan sharks by EggPlant891 2019-05-18T03:50:43Z

Loved the art, and the story, and how it fit the theme. I especially love how the main character is always on the phone. The parry mechanic was too slow to deflect the streams of money projectiles, and the completely the platforming had to be almost pixel perfect. A little frustrating, but overall, a fun experience!

NEOLITE by Extrone 2019-04-30T09:37:38Z

Controls really well! Loving the aesthetic too. I don't see how it reflects the theme at all though.

Glampire Baby Herder by don.shinski 2019-05-18T04:09:18Z

Your pick-up mechanic needs some work. I like the narrative, and exploring the different areas, but having a time limit and almost no way to defend yourself made exploring hard. :(

Golden Galaxy by Jakupf 2019-05-18T03:26:16Z

Played the first stage. I really enjoyed your enemy movement and different fire types. It felt like I was constantly under pressure to get out of the way, which is brilliant! However, once I got the choice to purchase something, I had no idea what any of the upgrades did. Some sound effects would've gone a long way too. But your programming was solid. :)

Attack on Jerry by unplugred 2019-04-30T08:54:02Z

Really well put together! Loved all the effects. The gameplay works nicely!

FatDaD by Lighter 2019-05-18T04:17:39Z

Cool movement physics. Would've liked to see more content.

The Last Bank by DKMK100 2019-05-15T05:17:21Z

It's hard not to agree with the other comments here, but I actually enjoyed messing around in your world. It was nice to run around and do a bit of 3D platforming! Also got a small cookie-clicker vibe. Either way, enjoyable for me! Check out my game too if you have time. :D

La dança de los muertos by HiqueRS 2019-05-18T04:31:08Z

Pretty sweet game! Good to see a 2-Player title around. :)

Where There's Smoke by SamLeCreator 2019-05-17T10:52:41Z

@tommyflower Such an amazing review! Thanks so much. We're really glad to have published something we can be proud of. Yeah actually, I love the opportunity writing affords for world building, and games do it even better! I think the addressing every person review style is fantastic by the way. :D Thanks again, have a great day!

KNIFE=LIFE by QuadApe 2019-05-18T03:17:57Z

So difficult! But I loved it. That mid-air shooting mechanic is on point.

. by goosyberry 2019-05-15T07:35:35Z

I loved it! So unexpected and funny. I'd play a full version of this for sure! Really enjoyed all the characters despite their limited appearance time. Your interface was clean and easy to use. I loved your colour palette too! Great job!

The Adventures of Cat Bat by BirchTree 2019-05-18T04:49:24Z

Love it! I wish the attack mechanic was a little more useable though. I feel like the easiest strategy was just to run away. Loved the art, loved the sound, loved the theme. Everything else was pretty much on point. Good job!

LD46 — Keep it alive

B R U I S E S by leafthief 2020-04-21T08:56:26Z

Wow, I'm really glad I found this. The mood was set brilliantly from the start, and the artstyle helped set it - even the colour palette.

Because I'm pretty terrible at point-and-click games this took me a lot longer than 5 minutes, but even still I felt like experiencing more of this story.

Sweet job.

ADRENA-LINE by managore 2020-04-21T06:51:51Z

'Satisfying' feels like an understatement. With only 5 colours, a box, a button and walls, you've made a game I have to catch myself from replaying too much. The only real criticism I can make is the distance from the theme, like you mentioned.

It took me a moment to make the connection between you and Roguelight - but it's no surprise, you have a knack for satisfying games that offer so much more than you'd think for their size.

Attack on Lizilla by drkr 2020-05-11T00:46:09Z

I loved it! It's really cool that your attacks can also level buildings, and I was surprised how much difficulty that added. Boaty McBoatFace might be an outdated meme, but City McCityFace definitely got a chuckle out of me. All the weapons were unique and pretty well balanced, except for the nuke of course, which got you five stars for humor! Great job!

Tiny Fragments by Daniel Moreno 2020-04-21T07:14:51Z

Very well polished, smooth animations, and satisfying sound design! Just the right length.

I'd be interested to know if you were in any way inspired by Magic Moving Mansion Mania - the designs seem to have taken similar paths. In any case, very fun to play, thoroughly enjoyed.

Haywire by DrewG8 2020-04-24T10:51:17Z

An entry polished to this level is always a welcome find - but even behind the polish this is some tight game design.

Drew: Surprisingly calming and not too over-the-top visual style, makes the game that much more replayable.

Matt: Got really into the music, wish more people tried their hand at a 5-beat track :)

Protector Of Zinoth by Sinci1 2020-05-11T00:39:25Z

Good to see 3D models in a 2D game! Good controls and overall, a fun experience. I like the how you used your movement mechanic to block projectiles as well, and the wave system was a welcome surprise! Good job!

Reef Rush by Sam Dower 2020-05-11T00:34:58Z

Fun highscore game. Expanding your reef while fending off sharks was pretty enjoyable! Although, I kept getting hit from behind when sharks would sneak up on me. An audio queue for approaching enemies would probably help in that regard, but otherwise, great game!

Alive: the game by lchsk 2020-05-11T00:50:33Z

Cool game! Yeah the movement controls were a little unconventional, but they weren't unusable. It actually added another layer of difficulty, which I think benefited the gameplay. Would love to see a larger map, but otherwise, I really enjoyed it! Good job.

Mycelium by BlobRoss 2020-04-21T06:21:20Z

The polish here is top notch! From the animations to something as simple as your choice of palette, it just works as one. It for sure took a few runs and quick deaths before I really understood what I was doing, but tight gameplay once I had the hang of it.

If you're looking to make Mycelium quicker to understand for new players, some more visible information about the timing and size of enemy waves would be a neat touch.

Zombie Movie Break by pr00thmatic 2020-05-11T01:11:09Z

Enjoyed it! Had trouble finding ammo but I think that's the point. Really impressed to see such a graphically refined game in the jam! Cool that you can strafe with Q and E too. Good game, well done!

The Last Lighthouse by magus24 2020-05-11T01:15:41Z

Moooooooooood. Really somber game, but really fun! Took me so long to get past the first obstacle, but worth it! I'm impressed to see so many 3D models in a jam game. Great game, well done!

Keep it alive: A love story by DimiTree 2020-05-11T01:01:32Z

Five stars across the board! I absolutely loved this game! Fantastic animation that you don't usually see in jam games, and a really cute story line too. Puzzle difficulty was perfect, and your mechanics were really readable. I especially liked the "don't get too far away" mechanic, which added that little something. Impressed you also had time to do cut scenes and volume control for master, music, and SFX. Congrats on 20 ratings, and great job! :)
