I like the atmosphere, really smooth :3

Probably the most fun I've had in a game so far :D Really like the controls and the feel of the game. The animation at the end definitely helped the whole mood of the game as well. Fantastic job, you should be happy with what you've made, well done

A cute Jump 'n' Run game with Minecraft controls, I like it :) The graphics were pretty and what you did inside of Unity was really amazing! The Light and Post processing Effects were stunning, th skybox really fits to the whole scene, and overall the mood was really really great! The music also was awesome :) (a little splutter sound when falling into the water and the firemesh becoming invisible would have been nice :)) I felt the scale of the character in comparion to the environment was off, like I was waaayyy too small (that always happened to me as well while doing games in First Person View) Although fun, I feel like you could try to tweak the gameplay a bit more, as sometimes I could cheat my way through and sometimes it was a bit unfair, especially at the end when you're standing at this pole thing with the flag and try to jump to the pier of the lighthouse; I think there is some collider off or something because it's unmanageable :( I tried it 10 times or so before giving up, kind of a bummer :/ I'd recheck the collider there as this can be really frustrating and a game killer, and it should count as bugfix, so no harm done with the LD rules :) A very good choice of providing checkpoints btw :) Btw concerning the mood, I also really liked the animation of the waves and of the walking (how the limbs with the lantern move etc.) and the beginning scene before you press start (It's a shame the text didn#t really fit, maybe next time add a prettier Font, there are awesome free fonts online and some even would make for a great logo, you can just copy them into the Fonts file of Unity :)

Congrats on finishing your game <3

oh, very creative game! I especially like the mechanics and visual atmosphere. Good job!

daniboysan 2020-05-06 20:58

very cool

ausstein 2020-05-06 21:22

Finished It!

Overall the game felt quite good. The Use of the Assets was really good and I liked the overall dificulty of this.

The movement mechanics were better than most games, but in a game where the movement is the main aspect you notice small stuff faster. It was a bit slow in my opinion and the wall slides/jumps felt not really good.

The Lanterns as a checkpoint were very clever!

Nice. Good reuse of assets. I wish that you didn't use standard Unity controller, it feels very janky because of it. I wrote a blog post why the Unity controller is terrible, I recommend you read it, and hopefully you fix those common issues for your next game: http://nothkedev.blogspot.com/2017/11/how-to-cope-with-standard-unity-fps.html

magus24 2020-05-07 20:47

@notke thanks, if at first I put it with the intention of changing it and then I didn't have that much time, your article was very interesting, I knew it worked badly but I didn't know the details, the standard assets in general are out of date

magus24 2020-05-07 21:22

@fatpenguin thanks for taking the time to comment, I'm sorry you got frustrated so close to the end, I didn't know it could be updated to fix bugs, the problem is it's a mesh collider, I'll fix it. Definitely, when this is finish, I will look for a more creative way to climb the slopes and work on the user interface.

That was pretty fun, I do like parkour in games :) The controls feel a bit "floaty" sometimes, but it's easy to get used to. The atmosphere is nice, and level design is pretty good. Solid entry

Nice use of the theme ! Not too easy, not too hard. It was quite balanced. I felt the controls quite ok. A little bit floaty, yes, but like Alex said, you get used to it quite easily. Overall, it's a nice entry, with a good use of assets, the music fit the game perfectly and is setting the mood. Great use of the water shader. And thank you for adding checkpoints ;) I used a couple lives near the end for the final jump ;)

But I made it to the end :)

Thank you for your entry !

Great game! Really fun to play, liked the "cartoony" physics (jump was high). Mood & visuals are really nice. Adding mouse sensitivity settings could be useful (but hey, I know it's made in just 2 days haha). Overall great entry! :)

space-man 2020-05-10 21:55

Nice game! Physics are a bit weird and let you jump up walls sometimes, but it works. Great mood for your use of the theme of keeping the last light alive.

Very atmosspheric and well functioning Jump and Run Game. I loved the Mood with the fitting Music and the Graphic Style.

If you like to improve it, you could fix the upward hovering flag on the last wreck and maybe add a mouseover hint, that checkpoints must be activated with RMB (they must be, right, or was it coincidence that they always activated when I right clicked them?).

mister-collette 2020-05-11 00:34

Sets a good atmosphere. Spamming 'Space' queues another jump :( Great sense of momentum ♥

grandtheftmarmot 2020-05-11 00:52

Wow, that was great! The music made me feel like the whole thing was in a nightmare. I thought the level design was really great, player felt the right speed. Lots of fun.

Amazingly good atmosphere, but I found the controls to be very problematic. They felt laggy, and first-person platforming is always something inherently hard to get feeling right. The lack of any coyote time (or at least that's what it felt like) was particularly noticeable, particularly paired with the strong aerial mobility as that meant that the best way to jump from a small area was to do a vertical jump and then shift+forward after having left the ground which just felt incredibly awkward.

I found it kinda funny how only the arm+lantern cast a shadow and there was no person shadow, but that's not really a problem.

samlecreator 2020-05-11 01:15

Moooooooooood. Really somber game, but really fun! Took me so long to get past the first obstacle, but worth it! I'm impressed to see so many 3D models in a jam game. Great game, well done!

dane-tesla 2020-05-11 12:28

Great mood! It was just a bit too hard for me overall ^^' But I'm not playing much first person parkour games so maybe it's issue with me, not with controls. A soild entry, I love the atmoshpere and the theme implementation.

mark-a-pressler 2020-05-12 00:41

Cool game! I finished the whole thing which doesn't often happen with jam games for me, but I enjoyed the parkour gameplay—nothing seemed too hard and the course layout made sense for the most part. The assets and music were both quite nice and overall the world had a very relaxing feel to it. Nice job!
