LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Scrap Shot by ninja00283 2018-12-03T10:57:21Z

This game is fun, even though it is a bit complicated in my opinion (many rules). Also, I just don't really like the graphics (no offense). But it's still a cool game! The sfx are cool. Anyway, congrats on finishing this interesting production! :D

Mortal Decisions by KunoNoOni 2018-12-06T10:04:42Z

The soundtracks are cool, and the game concept is fun. The waiting time can get annoying, though. Also, after trying to repair my ship when it doesn't need to get repaired, I can't do anything else. Still, it was a fun game, congrats! :D

Exploding Sport by jk5000 2018-12-09T18:45:59Z

This game idea is really cool, had some fun playing it (: Nice graphics and music as well. It was a little away from the theme in my opinion but anyway, congrats on creating this nice entry! :D

Benefice by JustinMullin 2018-12-05T18:20:24Z

This game is good-looking! Also like the music. The gameplay/builing system and sacrifices because of pirates are really fun. Great job :D

The M.O.N.K. by arkiruthis 2018-12-03T17:42:33Z

The low-poly artstyle looks amazing. The music was really cool as well. But the game concept itself is not intuitive and a little complicated in my opinion. You made a great job anyway! :D

Night's End by glimaleite 2018-12-31T12:30:40Z

Cool game, I love it (: The storyline is great and I love the visual effects like snow particles and trail renderers. Your pixel art is great! You made a great job, congrats :D

Volcano Rush! by jharler 2018-12-03T18:18:04Z

Such a cool game! I love the graphics, the soundtrack and the game idea. My favourite part is the end, really funny (no spoilers haha). But, how about adding some checkpoints? I'm bad at these games ':) Congrats on making this fun creation!

Escape of the Cheese Droid by dob 2018-12-17T17:17:31Z

Great use of the theme! A really nice game concept. The graphics and audio are cool, as well. You made a great job, congrats! :D

Colors of Your World by DDRKirbyISQ 2018-12-17T22:01:59Z

Amazing platformer! Love the graphics as well as the level design. The game mechanics aren't new/unique, but it's very well done and fun to play (: The idea of sacrificing colors, for its part, is really innovative. Audio is cool as well. It was an awesome creation, congrats! :D

Ordeals of Limbo by Cliff Lee CL 2018-12-16T22:03:21Z

Nice graphics and game idea. I accidently started with the last level though (: But does it fit the theme? Reminds me of "you can only move or see, not both". Anyway cool creation! :D

Ursa by Maksym 2018-12-07T11:12:01Z

Had a great time testing this platformer! Beautiful pixel art and nice music. The storystelling is also really cool. The controls aren't perfect, though, the double jump doesn't always work. But anyway, congrats on creating this cute game! Great job :D

Together by beta 2018-12-10T19:04:16Z

Nice creation! Really unique & fun concept in my opinion. Like the way we can understand people's choices by their drawings haha... Congrats :D

Duplicube by joewan 2018-12-03T08:47:49Z

I love the artstyle, it looks polished, some particle effects are really cool (: This "sacrifice yourself" mechanic was really fun! It fits the theme in a way I haven't thought of. The only thing I regret is that the game is short, but I know what Ludum Dare is x) Congrats on finishing this cool game! :D

Raining Blood by lukbebalduke 2018-12-17T22:49:19Z

Really cool game! I like the graphics and the simple animations, it looks great. Also the audio is cool (: The camera movement is sooooo smooth haha :D Congrats!

Zealot by walnoot 2018-12-30T18:59:57Z

Baldaquin 9 - I chose life by marcellus 2018-12-04T10:06:41Z

This game is quite confusing, and the graphics look a bit weird in my opinion. However, I love the story and the different acts and gameplays. Really interesting! I enjoyed it. Congrats (:

Master Key by Jeremy Ryan 2018-12-04T17:23:56Z

Wow, that's an amazing game! Nice graphics, nice music, cool game mechanics that fit the theme! :D You made an awesome job making this in only 48h, congratulations! (It is so cool that it actually looks like a jam game, and I checked if it was really a compo haha)

Sacrificial Run by Cosmic Adventure Squad 2018-12-31T17:19:00Z

Great game! I love the concept & the use of the theme. It kinda reminds me of Zombie Tsunami haha (: the way you control a group and some people die. The graphics and music are nice. Great job! :D

TrickyShot by William Derksen 2018-12-04T16:54:10Z

It's a really fun game, with a nice concept! Some visual effects like the explosion are awesome. Yet, I don't think it really fits the theme but anyway, congrats on making this cool shooter game! :D

Blight Tower by jeplmr 2018-12-05T22:35:56Z

The graphics look nice, the game also has some cool sfx. But, is the game only about finding and then shooting 100 times the tower? I'm not seeing any bots around here. (am I stupid? x)) I don't get the sacrifice part of the game. Anyway, it looks cool, congrats!

Documentia by Pandanym 2018-12-09T22:19:25Z

Definitely one of the best games I've played on Ludum Dare! It was truly awesome. Took me a while to find an ending that can be considered as happy (I think? no spoilers around here haha). Love the way the music changes after destroying. A really nice concept & mood, thanks to amazing graphics and audio. Congrats! I bet your team will win Ludum Dare :D

Colony by Tim Eriksen 2018-12-31T18:24:13Z

Nice creation, I like the graphics and the game idea. For a compo game, it looks really complex and polished! Some music could be nice. (And that's perfectly fine to ask me to play your game, I hope you'll get enough ratings) Anyway congrats! :D

Four Deities by Apace 2018-12-03T12:34:34Z

A really nice creation! Had a good time playing it. The simple pixel art looks great and the game concept is cool. Congrats :D

Sacriflag by yopox 2018-12-31T15:00:04Z

Ah, des français (: L'idée de répartir ses points dans des catégories était sympa, j'ai bien aimé. Les graphismes et les sons sont bien. Bravo ! :D

Samurai's Legacy by Simone 2018-12-03T19:21:46Z

In my opinion, this game is truly amazing! I like the mood most of all, the graphics and audio are great. The level design is also cool! Congrats :D

Wild Heat Showdown by Akusan 2018-12-06T17:57:47Z

This game was really fun! The graphics and the music are nice. I also like the procedural generated levels, which makes every playthrough different. It's a bit away from the theme in my opinion, but yeah, congrats on making this cool platformer! :D

RastaRush by FooMar 2018-12-05T18:01:54Z

This game was funny! The music sounds cool, and the graphics are cool. Good job :D

Aetherspirit by gwinnell 2018-12-05T22:10:34Z

Wow, I'm impressed, such a cool game! The pixel graphics look beautiful, the soundtracks are great, love the way it changes when the player changes. The game idea is also really cool. The level design is awesome, I love the way it ends up where we started. Congrats on making this amazing game! :D

Soul Traveller by Jiri Hysek 2018-12-10T22:48:23Z

Really fun game with really nice game concept. The mood is amazing. Feels a bit dark and scary, there's a very cool atmosphere thanks to the good graphics & audio. Congrats! :D

Consilium - A history of life and choices by Gaming Night 2018-12-12T12:56:48Z

Nice graphics and mood. But in my opinion, the gameplay isn't really fun. I just kept clicking around as fast as I could. Anyway, love the graphics, congrats! :D

More Sacrifices! by Alex Davies 2018-12-12T22:53:10Z

Really nice game! A bit hard but challenging (the boss level was too hard for me however). Amazing artstyle and audio. Congrats! :D

Infiltrate by Berkin 2018-12-03T18:48:57Z

The idea of sacrificing abilities is really nice! I had a lot of fun playing hte game. I would have loved some better graphics with this concept, though. But again, I think the most important is that the game is fun :D Congrats!

Berrytales - Fracture Flight by Purrseus 2018-12-13T16:14:20Z

Great graphics and audio! The game concept is cool. It was too hard for me however (: Congrats! :D

BlobSacrificator by Sarwin 2018-12-03T11:11:46Z

This is also my very first Ludum Dare, so I understand what you've been going through x) I really enjoyed playing this game! Yet, it felt like the game concept was a bit (too) simple (there wasn't any "twist"). Also the music sounded a bit bad in my opinion. Anyway, you've done a great job finishing this in only 24h! :D

Purple Space by BudgieM2 2018-12-05T18:30:32Z

The game idea is really cool, I love the crossing lasers feature, really interesting. The sacrifice theme seems to be a minor part of the game (but that's fine). Graphics and sounds are also great. Congrats! :D

Sacrifice Knight by Balgorode 2018-12-20T18:54:18Z

The simple graphics look nice (: Very fun to play, even though some checkpoints could be helpful. I had a good time, congrats! :D

Alien Atonement by RelicTooth 2018-12-05T21:25:26Z

The sound design (soundtrack + sfx) is excellent, a bit stressful but immersive, perfect. The simple graphics are cool, too. Fighting is really fun, the enemy AI is great. In my opinion, this was a really fun game with the best audio ever :D Congrats!

Sacrificio Inc. by Reality Blind 2018-12-05T21:47:54Z

Wow, what an amazing game! Wonderful graphics, cool soundtrack & sfx, the game concept itself is quite unique and innovative. You made an amazing job in 72h! I'd like to know how many people worked on this. Congratulations! :D

Platformer.txt by Hugo kieffer 2018-12-09T14:53:07Z

A really nice idea! Took me a while to figure it out, very interesting, like the way it makes the player think outside the box. The sounds and graphics are very minimalist, I would have loved some music and more developed art. But anyway, I love the game concept. Congrats :D

Platform43 - Die to progress! by Firesplash Entertainment 2018-12-13T16:03:25Z

Nice game, but the jump doesn't work properly for me, it's too small, and the game is unplayable... Good graphics and audio though. The game concept is really cool! Congrats :D

Platform43 - Die to progress! by Firesplash Entertainment 2018-12-15T18:09:37Z

It's now fixed, thank you :D Now I can really enjoy the game! Like the way it gets faster and faster. Congrats! :D

Cessabit by AdultLink 2018-12-31T14:38:53Z

SANTA'S DEATH SQUAD by paperjack 2018-12-03T16:52:34Z

A really, really fun game! I love the way you used the theme of sacrifices, that was a good idea. Such an interesting mechanic. It would have been awesome to have some explosion sfx, though. Anyway, congrats! :D

Archibald's Snobbish Journey by Thomas_Bringer 2018-12-03T20:32:53Z

@william-derksen Cool, I'm actually surprised that you've played it for a while haha. Since all playthroughs look a bit alike, I was afraid it quicky gets boring... Anyway thank you for the feedback! :D

Archibald's Snobbish Journey by Thomas_Bringer 2018-12-03T21:29:11Z

@jeremy-ryan How could you do such a thing ?! We all love Archibald! (don't you?) In fact, it was an idea that I've thought of, but it was complicated, because you accidently grabbed Archibald while trying to grab an object in front of him, so it got annoying haha x) Thanks for the feedback!

Archibald's Snobbish Journey by Thomas_Bringer 2018-12-03T21:46:42Z

@kaeveris Thanks a lot! I'm glad you liked the music, because it's not supposed to be my main strength at all x) I just played around in Bosca Ceoil for an hour (:

Archibald's Snobbish Journey by Thomas_Bringer 2018-12-05T22:39:47Z

@gwinnell I totally agree with the size problem of the game. It's the kind of issue I don't have time to fix in 48h unfortunately ): Anyway thanks for the review! (: (oh and the icon took me 2 minutes to make, it's just Archibald's hat haha)

Archibald's Snobbish Journey by Thomas_Bringer 2018-12-08T23:01:58Z

@moski Glad you noticed this joke (: Thanks a lot! Can't believe some people really like the game from my 1st ludum dare haha x) I agree some polishing could be made, but I'm not planning to expand the project

Archibald's Snobbish Journey by Thomas_Bringer 2018-12-08T23:03:06Z

@shito Yeah I totally agree, the music is way too repetitive haha x) Thank you so much for the feedback!

Archibald's Snobbish Journey by Thomas_Bringer 2018-12-16T12:15:45Z

@yorsh I added this feature to prevent the player from throwing everything away in 3 seconds, to enjoy the journey; but yeah, I'm aware it can become quite frustrating. The kind of issue I didn't know how to fix in 48h x) Thank you so much for the feedback! It's really useful (:

Archibald's Snobbish Journey by Thomas_Bringer 2018-12-17T17:06:40Z

Some really (cruel) humor around here x) Nice concept and cool mood in my opinion. Congrats!

Floofs by kaeveris 2018-12-04T17:05:05Z

This was a nice game! The bullet doesn't always go where I'm aiming, though. Some features could have been handy, like a menu screen, but yeah, I know what it's like to make a game in 48h x) Congrats!

ANKH by morriss 2018-12-09T18:39:16Z

Very cool game, especially for a first Ludum Dare! Very nice graphics as well as a fun game idea. The controls and physics might be a bit buggy at times, though. Anyway, congrats on this really cool entry! :D

Lost In Space by Sargonius 2018-12-03T22:06:25Z

The graphics look really nice! The sfx sound cool, by the way. I think that the rules are a little complicated to understand at first, though. Anyway, congrats on finishing this nice game! (PS: oh, and finally an Unreal game! we're playing almost 90% Unity games here haha)

Vikrifice by Lucidus 2018-12-06T14:10:00Z

Nice pixel graphics, the soundtrack is also cool. The level design and the game mechanics are really fun! Had a great time. Congratulations! :D

Apatanat: the benefit of all. by Mike Mihe 2018-12-06T23:12:33Z

Really nice graphics! I would love some simple idle animations on the characters so that the world felt more alive. Also some music would be nice. But the game concept itself was definitely fun! Took me a while to figure everything out and I really enjoyed it. Congrats, it was a very nice creation :D

Eggmans Sacrifice by Potatuetata 2018-12-03T16:30:19Z

This game was really fun! It has some cool mechanics, like propelling yourself if shooting while in air. The sound design also seems to be polished. One thing I like a bit less is the art, though (no offense). Anyway, congrats! :D

The Price of Crops by Nakami 2018-12-05T17:03:35Z

The graphics look cool, and the game concept is fun (: It looks like a lot of (hard) work for a compo. I think that the music was a bit annoying in the end, but that was okay. Great game overall, congrats!

2 Choices by Sashbros 2018-12-06T11:18:29Z

The game is nice but I didn't finish it because it was almost unplayable because of lag... It might be my computer. The simple graphics are nice. Congrats :D

The Noble Asparagas by anderskristo 2018-12-03T19:11:12Z

Battling Madness by Sykoo 2018-12-05T17:49:54Z

I really enjoyed playing this game! You artstyle looks cool, as always, and the sfx are nice (: I love the different kind of sacrifices we can make, like swapped controls. Just a little issue, sometimes I get the same option twice or even three times. But anyway, it was fun, congrats! :D

Battling Madness by Sykoo 2018-12-05T17:50:33Z

(Also, I wanted to thank you @noa-calice because you helped me a lot in my "game creation journey" (as you say). I took part in my 1st Ludum Dare partly thanks to your videos. Therefore I'd be honored if you could play my game. I hope I don't sound rude, I just want to give back a little from what you've given to me. If you don't have time or don't want to, feel free to ignore this comment)

A Burning Rabbit Experiment by Jani Nykanen 2019-05-01T13:07:29Z

Totally Radicools 90s Space Adventure by geeitsomelaldy 2019-05-01T13:33:57Z

Nice game, level design is great :D Also I like your use of the theme (upgrade system). The retro music and graphics are nice, too. Good job!

Soul Surge by Brackeys 2019-04-29T16:21:36Z

The overall experience is really fun, graphics look nice. But I agree with Cubicode above, there are some minor issues, like the lack of restart button and soundtrack. And obviously, I suck at this, it was hard for me to kill the monsters. Anyway, still a great game :D Now waiting for the video (:

L.Y.L.A. - Your personal Living Your Life Assistant by Gruni 2019-04-29T16:43:34Z

Wow, a really unique game here. Very nice message, love your interpretation of the theme (very different from chickens taking over humans haha) Oddly, I would not say this is a fun game, but its atmosphere was really interesting. Great job! :D

Amazing graphics and animations, love them :D Story/atmosphere is good too and it fits the theme nicely. Unfortunately, the actual gameplay was a bit poor, as it was just about clicking buttons randomly. But of course there was the time limit (: Still a relaxing experience, great job!

Chickenarchy by Thomas_Bringer 2019-04-29T08:17:30Z

@gruni I'm really sorry, I had some technical issues while uploading the file (: It should be fixed now. Hope you enjoy the game! (Thanks for pointing this out)

Chickenarchy by Thomas_Bringer 2019-04-29T08:58:26Z

@gruni I just forgot to make it public x) I feel so dumb haha (1rst time using itch.io) Should be fixed now. There is still a screen size problem that I'm trying to fix though

Chickenarchy by Thomas_Bringer 2019-04-29T09:22:38Z

@gruni Okay, I think I (kinda) fixed the screen size issue. Thank you for your patience, it's super nice of you :D (and sorry for being such a noob :P) I'll make sure to play your game

Chickenarchy by Thomas_Bringer 2019-04-29T09:39:35Z

@gruni Thank you for your review :D I agree with every issue you noticed, and I'm glad you still liked the game (:

Chickenarchy by Thomas_Bringer 2019-04-29T10:26:57Z

@geeitsomelaldy Thanks for playing! I'll try to fix the glitch about the farmer (:

Edit: The glitch doesn't happen to me, so I just don't know how to fix it. I guess jam games are meant to be a bit buggy (:

Chickenarchy by Thomas_Bringer 2019-04-30T17:04:26Z

@chuckeles @borys @suchista @halfmule @fm-studio

Okay, I'm aware there are some important issues about the game. I first added colliders around the camera to prevent chickens from going offscreen, but didn't realize it raised another problem (that @borys used to go outside the map). There is definitely a problem with the whole movement in the game, but I'm not going to update it because it would be a new feature and is against the rules of Ludum Dare. Also I thought that beginning dialog when entering a trigger would make things much easier, but once again, didn't realize it would be a pain to play. (A simple point-and-click system would probably solve these two problems. If I ever want to expand the project, I think it could be a mobile version with this system.)

So yeah, sorry for these glitches - but please keep in mind I'm still a beginner: it's just my 2nd Ludum Dare, and I struggled to manage my time, the project was a bit too ambitious perhaps.

Hope you still enjoy the overall atmosphere, and thanks for this helpful feedbak <3

Chickenarchy by Thomas_Bringer 2019-04-30T17:48:56Z

@kristinnes Never played Okhlos actually (: I got some inspiration from Crowd City and Zombie Tsunami to be honest

Edit: And for the artstyle, chicken was a bit inspired by Crossy Road

Chickenarchy by Thomas_Bringer 2019-05-03T17:05:55Z

Thanks everyone, your feedback is amazing! :D Added a small "known issues" section on the page.

@krammetje @fidrik @chrisdugne @zlabya @jin9310 Sorry for the problem with dialogs... :( (see "known issues")

@nico-fallosch @purrseus @palsina @grllle @fatcrow Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed the game! (:

@ave @jjjjason @gimblll This is super kind, thanks a lot! :D

@shaolin-dave Actually, I don't know how to center the game on the page - I just gave itch.io a 256*256 game, an it was put on the left. Besides, I definitely agree with the problem you mentionned (see "known issues"). Quoting myself a few comments above:

> Okay, I’m aware there are some important issues about the game. Coins life. by Izaacs 2019-05-06T18:01:34Z

Great game, love the visuals (background parallax is great) and SFX (: it's a nice use of the theme. The concept is great, and treated in a humorous way. Just think the game could be a little bit more animated (coins could rotate or something, pigs could walk and face the right direction) but it's still a really fun game. Congrats! :D

Life for Likes by FM Studio 2019-04-30T17:30:17Z

I loved this game! Your interpretation of the theme is very unique, and the selfie mechanic is great. Had a lot of fun trying to get a selfie with the rabbit haha (: Reminds me of people going at the edge of hazardous cliffs to get the best selfie, your game delivers a nice message. Also I like the 8-bit style, both in graphics and sounds. The different animal enemies kept me interested - found a flying dog on level 2 though (: Overall a great game, congrats! :D

I was guilty by volatile-dove 2019-04-29T16:02:54Z

The graphics look amazing, they remind me of Monument Valley (: and the story is nice. Movement is not perfect but it was okay for me. The overall atmosphere was really enjoyable. Congrats! :D

Heart Sacrifice by Predrag 2019-04-30T17:44:15Z

Sadly I got an error that made the game crash: (I tried twice and still got the same error) ___________________________________________ ############################################################################################ FATAL ERROR in action number 1 of Step Event0 for object obj_enemy_slime_blue:

But that's okay (: I still loved the game! Graphics look amazing, and game is fun. Adding audio could be great. Btw is there a link with the theme? Maybe it is revealed at the end and I didn't see it. Anyway great game, congrats :D

Nice game :) However this is not my favourite kind of game (I was clicking buttons randomly), but this is just my personal preference. Also I think illustrating what's happening could be nice. But overall it was a cool entry, good job! :)

Slay the Dungeon by jharler 2019-10-20T18:08:01Z

This game is really cool, especially for a game made by one person (even for a jam entry). I loved the visual style, the gameplay, the cards, and the different enemies :) It was very fun to play, congrats! :D

Winter by fashionbatman 2019-10-24T21:53:21Z

I really liked this game! Very minimalistic, both in graphics & audio. :) Both graphics (the animations are great) and sound design are really nice. I loved the overall atmosphere. Yet, I think the game wasn't super fun--but it's not necessarely a bad thing, the game was still relaxing and enjoyable. And I think it fits the theme nicely. Congrats! :D

Untitled Sandbox Game Where You Throw Sticks by niborious 2019-10-16T10:03:10Z

Nice game! Very "minecrafty" haha :) I like how you used the them, cool idea. Also, is the level generated procedurally? If so, that's super cool :)

The Greatest Game in the World by AhmenX 2019-10-24T17:32:44Z

Funny metagame :) filled with great ideas! I really liked the way you come back to previously visited rooms, the way you can change the wall's colors via code, and the narrator. Good job :D

- V O I D - by AtomFox0213 2019-10-23T21:57:47Z

Just played your game, and absolutely loved it! The overall mood is incredible. Graphics, music and story are great. The puzzles are really nice & interesting to solve. Congrats! :D

Get off the Hook by RAC-Games 2019-10-24T19:24:33Z

Great game! The mood is super cool. Ambient sounds are nice. Level design looks very clever. First-person platformers can be hard sometimes, but you manage to make the controls precise, which was enjoyable. The only thing is that it's a bit furstrating to fall at the very bottom without checkpoints. But overall, cool game, congrats! :D

Unwatered by bazld 2019-10-23T17:26:16Z

Nice game! Water physics are a good idea, it's fun to play. I must stay, I couldn't find how to complete level 4. The art is cute. Congrats! :D

Pie Witch by jandourek 2019-10-28T21:04:20Z

Cool game! Loved the graphics, the world was very interesting to explore. Music was nice, too. Congrats! :D

Tower of Minos by Bernhard 2019-10-23T17:02:51Z

I really liked this game! :) Never thought of combining a platformer with Tetris. The great thing is that the game gets even more interesting when you get the double and triple jumps, which quickly become new motivations to go higher. Great job! :D

Necrofenser Hero by Guilb 2019-10-24T12:10:53Z

Cool game! A bit hard to start, I didn't know what to do at first. Graphics & music are great. Good job! :)

Angry Words by Madbeagle 2019-10-23T17:18:01Z

Nice game! It's funny how it worked around the theme. :) I didn't really like the theme, either. The game concept was fun to play, and audio was cool. :)

Explore the Dark by m.dam 2019-10-07T21:09:34Z

Great artwork! I love the light mechanic. Feels great to explore the world like this. Congrats! :D (PS: what is suzanne doing in this world? haha)

The Carpenter by Valentin4311 2019-10-24T16:35:32Z

Really loved this one! :D Both UI & voxel graphics look great. Audio is nice, too. I love how the speed increases gradually, making it harder and harder. Great job! :D

Sosig by Mors 2019-10-29T20:42:02Z

One of my favourite games so far! I really enjoyed the gameplay & level design. Jumping, spinning and then diving felt a bit like in Mario 64 or Mario Odyssey :) The mechanic of switching platforms was a great idea. A bit hard for me, but overall well balanced. Oh, and graphics, animations and music are lovely. Congrats! :D I hope you win Ludum Dare :)

Epic story of a nobody by The Osk 2019-10-20T17:47:44Z

Great game! The artstyle is very unique :) Some choices are great (like, should you save the merchant?) but sometimes, I don't get any choice (and I am forced to fight the bandits, for instance) which is not very enjoyable. But overall a really nice game, congrats! :D

Ludum and the Lost Pages by solluxx 2019-10-28T21:49:38Z

Cool game! Great graphics & animations. Nice concept, fits the theme nicely. The level design was really clever. I really enjoyed it, thank you for making it! :D

Color and Creativity by Collin Thompson 2019-10-20T17:28:47Z

Cool game! Like the idea of a world & music building gradually (actually had a similar idea in my own game haha). Graphics look nice (post-processing is great) and I love the camera switch. However, it was a bit hard for me, I think the controls are quite hard to master--maybe, increase the drag on player rigidbody :) And also, I wish there were checkpoints. But still a very nice & fun experience, congrats! :D

A Dream of Wings by Lumos 2019-10-23T17:41:50Z

Nice game! A bit hard to start though, because you get rejected in most places you go :) but it works really well with the theme (and also mirrors the real world). Good job! :D

@izi Thank you! @adliberum Thanks a lot! Yeah hard to get good controls on an hexagon grid. :)

The beginning of the end by Thomas_Bringer 2019-10-08T21:37:51Z

@dwam Thank you so much for your feedback! It is so much appreciated. :) And I agree with everything you said. Yeah I struggled a lot with the controls. For the perspective, to be honest, I only realized it could be an issue at the very end of the jam, when I added trees (which are probably the biggest source of the problem). Didn't found a solution before the end. :) Also yeah, in the beginning the game was ending after the destruction of the world (without explanation). After playtest I realized some players wouldn't read most of the dialogs and didn't understand the whole time thing of the game, so I added the explanation, but yeah, I felt like it is way better to tell the story through the game.

So thank you! :D Your feedback is very helpful and valuable. :)

The beginning of the end by Thomas_Bringer 2019-10-10T19:07:44Z

@xlomid Thank you! Yeah the controls are definitely an issue. If I ever continue the project, it would probably be on mobile--so a swipe system should solve it. Also yeah, there's no way to skip the intro. Thanks for your feedback! :)

@paulhocker just like I said above: the controls are definitely an issue. If I ever continue the project, it would probably be on mobile--so a swipe system should solve it. Thank you for commenting! :D

@ancient-pixel Yeah, you're absolutely right. This is a nice suggestion to make them better. If I ever continue the project, it would probably be on mobile–so a swipe system should solve it. Thank you for your feedback! :D

The beginning of the end by Thomas_Bringer 2019-10-17T09:30:21Z

@jezzamon Yeah, to be honest, I added the explanation at the end after realizing some players wouldn't understand that time is reversed, but the original idea was to tell it through the game :) so yeah I am not myself 100% satisfied with the ending neither, I had a hard time deciding whether or not I should explain the story explicitly. Thank you for commenting! :D

The beginning of the end by Thomas_Bringer 2019-10-20T18:12:02Z

@levidsmith Yeah, I agree the text backwards is confusing, but I really wanted to make things look backwards :) Thank you for commenting!

@xumr Yeah, you're absolutely right about the text & controls--these are probably the main issues of the game. Also yeah, I kinda took inspiration from teletubbies x) haha. Thanks for your feedback!

The beginning of the end by Thomas_Bringer 2019-10-20T21:27:00Z

@johnnysix Oh, you managed to block yourself :) Yeah you're right about the controls. If I ever continue the project, it would probably be on mobile–so a swipe system should solve it. Thank you for commenting! :D

The beginning of the end by Thomas_Bringer 2019-10-28T20:34:32Z

@allbetsareoff Thank you so much for the stream! :) Your constructive feedback is very appreciated. And I guess no, these creatures are not human :)

@fashionbatman Thanks a lot! :D

@youngblade Thank you so much! Yeah you're right about the controls. :)

@maskinmask Thanks! :)

@jandourek Thank you for commenting! Yeah controls and perspective are definitely two major issues of the game. :)

@oddballdave Thanks a lot! :D It was the original idea to replay the game backwards at the end, but I quickly realized it woul be hard/time-consuming to implement, and decided to focus on gameplay and story. But yeah it's definitely missing, many players expected that to happen. :)

@mr-chocolatesalmon Thank you so much! :) You're probably one of the few who actually liked reversed text haha :)

@negator2vc Thanks a lot! :D Yeah controls are definitely an issue. I tried keeping the dialog system as simple as possible, but yeah, an explanation could be useful. :)

The beginning of the end by Thomas_Bringer 2019-10-28T22:01:25Z

@jharler Thanks a lot for your feedback!

The beginning of the end by Thomas_Bringer 2019-10-28T23:00:31Z

@humphreysmedia Thank you for commenting! :D Yeah controls are a major issue. Also I know that reversed text is confusing, but it was to fit the storyline about time being reversed. (Probably not my best idea, though) :)

The beginning of the end by Thomas_Bringer 2019-10-29T20:49:21Z

@acronaut Thank you so much for your great feedback! Your suggestions about controls & dialogs are great. If I ever continue the project, it would probably be on mobile–so a swipe/joystick system should solve it. :)

Oh, and I tested sound both on Chrome and Firefox, and it worked for me. That's weird. (It's normal if there is no sound at the beginning.)

Millions of Minions by Mattabulous 2019-10-24T12:18:53Z

Cool game! I really like the audio & the visual effects. It also fits the theme nicely. It was a bit hard for me at first, especially because enemy can kill you instantly. But anyway great job! :D

Aphantasia by kristinamay 2019-10-07T20:24:45Z

Colour Shot by HumphreysMedia 2019-10-24T17:43:24Z

Nice game! Simple but fun. Some music & some more mechanics would have been fun, but it's already nice for a compo game :) Also not sure about the link with the theme. (I scored 119 btw) Good job! :D

Ludum Dare Simulator by Marcin J 2019-10-23T17:51:53Z

Nice game! Well I think a lot of us thought about doing this, since we were all starting with nothing when the theme was revealed :) The idea is well executed, with nice graphics and audio. Good job! :D

Knight Dash by sam.awk 2019-10-07T20:41:12Z

I liked the idea quite well; however, I gave up quite quickly, as it was too hard for me. I think movement/controls could be slightly improved. But overall cool game! :D

itemless by NachtWitch 2019-10-23T18:01:37Z

Cool game! Love the idea. I think the execution could be improved/polished a bit: graphics look alright, but not great to me, and a soundtrack could be cool. But for a compo game it's already great! Congrats :D

Hellion: The Legend of Jeff by Mad Brokli 2019-10-24T17:55:33Z

Nice game! Cool graphics & audio. It was fun to play. I wish though fighting was a bit more interesting and less repetitive, as I was just smashing space bar all the time. (different weapons? enemies?) But it was overall a great game, congrats! :D

Memories of Eleph by Leandroc 2019-10-16T09:54:53Z

Great game! :D Nice graphics, nice soundtrack. Really like the story of memories. It was a bit hard for me though :) (Also there's a minor collision bug where you go through a wall if you move diagonally into a corner.) All in all such a nice experience, thank you for making it! :)

Prison Escape by shaurya_juneja 2019-10-20T17:01:28Z

ALIEN RESCUE by Imphenzia 2020-04-20T16:53:46Z

Great game! Nice graphics (I see that the 10-minute trainings helped here haha), I also liked the animations and the ragdoll. Gameplay was fun, you used the theme nicely; music & sfx were very nice. Congrats, you did an amazing job! :D

Aero-Ball by rsim 2020-04-20T17:53:41Z

Nice game! Liked the idea of a 3D pinball. Yet, it felt a bit hard to get to the next level because of the limited control you have on the ball--it bounces a bit randomly. (Also there was a problem for me with the UI in fullscreen in web build, but it was ok.) Overall a nice entry! :)

ADRENA-LINE by managore 2020-04-20T21:31:33Z

Amazing game! Super polished and juicy, the game feels so nice to play. Particles, screen shakes, sfx are really great. I love how you have to be faster and faster. And also the fact that this is a roguelike makes it even more interesting. Overall very fun to play. Congrats on making this! :D (especially for 15 hours)

Spooble: A Search Engine Story by allthebees 2020-04-21T17:33:00Z

What did I just play, haha :joy: Liked the idea, interesting how you used the theme. Liked the "I'm feeling lucky" button (would have loved to see even more easter eggs--or maybe I just haven't found them?). Overall nice entry! :)

Help Mr Pinky by Robinerd 2020-04-20T17:34:50Z

Great concept! Gameplay was intuitive and level design was clever. A bit short--but hey, I know what it's like to make a game in 48 hours, haha. The idea could definitely be expanded: it could be pretty interesting to be able to move around bumpers, collectables, enemies, ladders... Music was catchy. Overall, good job! :D

Tiny Fragments by Daniel Moreno 2020-04-20T22:20:41Z

Amazing game! Great concept & level design. Not too hard, not too easy, perfectly balanced. Graphics, music, sfx are great, too. And a lot of polish was put in here (scene transitions...). So congrats you did an awesome job! :D

Desktop Garden by 0x0 2020-04-29T16:48:19Z

Great concept! Very innovative. Feels like you are controlling my pc haha. I think that the controls could be made a bit more fun: jump could be a little higher, or wall jumping on windows could be fun (or even double jump)... to help moving the player without having to move windows all the time. Overall one of the most creative entries I've seen, great job! :D

À la FenĂȘtre by DocGeraud 2020-05-09T16:38:13Z

Little Human by yyam 2020-05-12T15:01:58Z

Amazing game! Really impressive for compo. Great simple pixel art and music. Levels were really well-designed and challenging, mechanics were cool and nicely introduced. Loved how it was more about finding "your" solution than "the" solution. Congrats! :D

Keep the light alive by MaximBegunov 2020-04-20T21:05:10Z

Very impressive, especially for compo. And a great use of the theme. Congrats, this is the kind of entry that deserves to win in at least one category :)

For Ducks' Sake by GaryS 2020-05-12T10:16:28Z

Nice game! Very interesting story. Liked the multiple choices we had, had a lot of fun exploring the house (oh god, I wish I didn't look into the wardrobe ). Of course some more graphics & audio would be nice but it's still already rather enjoyable to play. Good job! :)

Nice game! Liked the different towers, enemies & upgrades. Pretty well balanced and requires strategy. The graphics and the music are very nice as well. Congrats! :D

Nice game! Great visuals and sounds. Liked the concept. Great entry! :)

8-Bit Soul Eater by Sebity 2020-05-12T15:24:33Z

Nice game! The pixel art looked really good and the music was nice. Gameplay was fun. I think the combat mechanics could be slightly improved to be a bit more fun. But overall it's still awesome, good job!

KidPunk by Squeele 2020-05-12T10:32:17Z

Nice game! Liked the concept. Nice sfx, too. Just one thing: it is not really intuitive that we can walk on spikes but not the kid. Overall great entry! :)

Me: Tree! by Groggi 2020-05-09T16:03:29Z

Great game! Gameplay is simple but surprisingly fun, very well balanced. Nice simple visuals, too. It's a bit slow to start at the beginning, but then your tree grows exponentially and it was actually quite addictive! (a bit like in the old snake game or in agar.io where you want your player to grow even bigger...) Anyway congrats! :)

Keepin' It Charged by kubs 2020-05-12T15:41:30Z

Great game! Absolutely loved the effects when you lose energy (post-processing + music change). It really added some pressure to speed up haha. A really enjoyable platformer. I wasn't a huge fan of that wall jump though, I struggled a bit with it. Overall congrats! :)

RESCUR'ROBOT by jiukka 2020-05-12T14:44:38Z

Nice game! I think the concept is nice, but I would expect the controls to be a classic third-person camera (mouse to look around). And I think it's a bit short and some more mechanics would be welcome. But still for a first jam that's pretty cool, congrats :)

Big Buddy ! by Leonard 2020-04-21T14:25:46Z

Vraiment sympa, le gameplay est trÚs dynamique, c'est cool que chaque fruit donne une attaque différente. Et ça rentre bien dans le thÚme. Les graphismes sont trÚs mignons et la musique est bien sympa. Bref bien joué ! :D

Missing Pieces by Abu Sabiq Mahdi 2020-05-09T16:50:03Z

Amazing game, very monument valley-ish (which happens to be one of my favourite games ever haha). Absolutely loved the "FĂŒr Elise" level, very clever. Great visuals and audio. Impressive, congrats! :))

@dani-desa You can actually rotate the camera with A & D or Q & E (this is told in level 4). And yeah I definitely agree that the whole game needs more polish. Thank you for your feedback!

@fabrizio-spadaro @dedicave @finntastico @framboisedodue Thank you so much everyone for your feedback! Glad you liked it overall :)

@finntastico That's funny cause when I started developing the game you couldn't move before choosing which tree to keep but I decided to change that because it felt weird not to be able to move in the beginning. And yeah agree that the movement could be polished. :)

The Tale of the Lumberjack who did not want to cut trees by Thomas_Bringer 2020-05-12T19:09:54Z

@fabula-rasa Thanks a lot for commenting! Yeah I definitely agree that the lack of sfx + player controls are major issues.

@fatpenguin Thank you so much for your feedback! I agree that player movement is not the best. For the intro I chose to focus on the character who's talking just because for me it was the fastest solution, but yeah, I wish I had the time to make a small picture of the character who's talking :) Also solution of this level: 1. Go on the top of the tree next to the axe (the second tree). 2. Choose to keep the tree on the right (the one next to the house). 3. Your player will fall and you should be able to walk to the house!

Pandonteus by Dock Frankenstein 2020-05-10T10:31:29Z

Nice game! Concept was nice, but the overall game is a bit confusing. Some suggestions: it sometimes felt like the boomerang touches the box but doesn't break it. It feels a bit unresponsive not being able to move while the boomerang is away. And the health could be always on screen, in a way we always exactly know how many moves we still got. The graphics & audio were great. Overall, good job! :)

Ant by Nakami 2020-05-10T10:19:11Z

Great game! Had a lot of fun playing it. Loved the voxel graphics so much. The game itself was full of interesting mechanics, and level design was very clever. Congrats! :D

Pong-Pong by Geri 2020-05-12T10:40:00Z

Great game! Simple but fun gameplay. Liked the different enemies. The graphics looked simple but really nice. Good job! :D

Apocalypse Baby by STREETGEEK 2020-05-12T15:47:57Z

Nice game! I think that the execution isn't perfect, though. The cursor should be invisible and locked on the screen. The props should probably have collision detection, otherwise you can just walk through them. And the bullet collision detection was a bit strange. The overall idea was still nice, and graphics & audio are nice. Good job!

theColony by falstro 2020-05-12T12:56:02Z

Great game! Visuals are great. Gameplay itself is pretty fun. I think adding a clear goal or a motivation to explore (find an item, rescue someone, discover a certain type of planet...) could be interesting. But for 48 hours it's already a very nice and polished experience. Congrats! :)

Don't fall behind by Dinorex 2020-05-12T10:50:25Z

Nice game! Great atmosphere, nice art & audio. A bit hard for me to figure out where I needed to go. The gameplay was still pretty fun. Good job :)

Remember, Apollo by AdamCYounis 2020-04-21T17:20:44Z

Save the Fish by Duck Reaction 2020-04-20T22:09:18Z

Nice game! Liked the variety of possible actions. Graphics look nice. Liked the humour ("Fish died and it's all your fault, hope you sleep well"). Overall a fun simon says game to spend a few minutes on, good job! :)

Protect The Artifact by WillyPa 2020-05-09T17:50:52Z

Nice game! Quite fun to play. A few downsides for me: the gameplay might be a bit too simple and becomes a bit boring after a minute. I'm not a huge fan of these graphics, some more detail, animations, particles could be nice. And it felt like it's almost impossible to lose, it's a bit too easy. But still a cool entry! Good job :)

The Birb by Ilimanic 2020-05-12T10:25:56Z

Nice game! Loved the artstyle & animations. Also, the character reminds me of Monument Valley birds :) Nice mood & audio, too. Liked the small metroidvania gameplay. Good job!

Letter to Thomas by LouieJams 2020-05-09T16:59:49Z

Great game! Was this letter addressed to me? :) I liked that minimalistic gameplay. The visuals were great, too. Some minor downsides: there might be a bit too much text for one level (I guess I play faster than I read haha), and the text should maybe not reset when dying. Overall, great creation, very emotionnal! :D

Lifeline by mlkvr 2020-05-09T16:18:54Z

Cool game, really liked the concept & take on the theme. I kept dying however and couldn't figure out how to win haha. But good job overall! :)

Tumbleweed by Brenan 2020-04-29T17:17:43Z

This was absolutely excellent. The graphics are stunning, I mean come on, how is it even possible to achieve such realism in 72h? :) Gameplay is super cool, too; controlling wind is a great idea. The idea could definitely be expanded (the gameplay could work great on mobile--although these heavy graphics might not be easy to take to mobile). Great audio as well. Really impressive, you deserve to win! :D

Keep Adventurer alive by bigTINYGames 2020-04-21T16:54:03Z

Nice game! Liked the "control the environment not the player" idea haha. Great visuals & particles, sfx are nice, too. Good job! :)

Feed da Boss! by Eli Palmer 2020-05-12T15:15:53Z

Nice game! Really good-looking cartoony artstyle. Loved the gameplay itself, and some details such as the ragdoll on the fish. Music was cool, too. Good job! :)

Keep It Charged by LaZZyDev72 2020-04-29T16:21:42Z

Nice game! Nice concept & level design. But seriously, no checkpoints? :) This was a bit frustrating. Another slight issue: I think there is a bit of input loss (perhaps were you gathering input inside of FixedUpdate instead of Update...). But still good job on the overall game, graphics & sounds!

One Alive At A Time by MorandiGame 2020-05-09T15:48:42Z

Nice game! Camera movement confused me a bit, though. Also, the game often froze and I had to reload the page. The visuals are okay but could be improved a bit in my opinion (the fire isn't very convincing :)) But overall, concept was very unique and gameplay was fun. Still, good job! :)

Toastie by LeeCode 2020-05-12T14:34:09Z

Nice game! Nice graphics (loved the fire effect) & music. Controls might be a bit inconvenient (for instance it's sometimes hard to grab objects). Also staying near the fire didn't seem to always give hp. But still quite fun to play! Good job :)

Dr. Statnil's Dodo Egg by Voidsay 2020-05-10T09:50:58Z

Nice game! Very fun to play. The AI worked pretty well. I think adding a bit of background elements, props, animations, particles could improve the graphics. But the gameplay itself was very cool, congrats! :)

Rickety, Rickety Robot by robcozzens2 2020-05-12T15:10:17Z

Great puzzle game! The concept is really creative :) and levels are so clever and well-designed. Graphics are nice, too. Overall, a great idea and a great execution, congratulations! :D

The Last Lighthouse by magus24 2020-05-10T09:28:36Z

Great game! Really fun to play, liked the "cartoony" physics (jump was high). Mood & visuals are really nice. Adding mouse sensitivity settings could be useful (but hey, I know it's made in just 2 days haha). Overall great entry! :)

First Love / Late Spring by Lateralis 2020-04-21T17:10:12Z

Nice entry! Unfortunately I couldn't go very far as the game crashed multiple times (I couldn't even start a conversation). But from what I've seen: loved the artstyle, loved the music, loved the idea. Good job! :)

Catch The Mouse keep it alive by GameOverMexico 2020-05-12T10:58:15Z

Great game! The pixel art is very appealing. Liked the overall feel, nice parallax effects & sound design. Congrats!

Just Down Jack by joewan 2021-04-29T10:02:41Z

Great game! simple gamplay, but really well done and polished. Great 8-bit vibes in the audio and art (I instantly recognized Bosca Ceoil :joy:). Congrats! :D

Down the Mines and Ghosts by UnidayStudio 2021-04-27T17:00:35Z

Super game! That mechanic where ghosts retrace your steps is brilliant. Great execution, graphics, animations, sounds. Had a great time playing it! :D

BulletWell by SecretPocketCat 2021-04-29T09:55:23Z

Nice game! I liked the catching bullets mechanic, definitely intersting. Art & audio was pretty neat, too. The only confusing thing for me is that you cannot click once to fire a bullet, you have to hold the mouse button, which felt a bit unresponsive to me (but it's a minor detail). Overall, solid entry! :D

Obelisk by caeonosphere 2021-04-29T10:09:00Z

@prodigalson I switched to azerty keyboard during development for personal convenience and forgot to switch back to qwerty before building the game... Now fixed, WASD keys should be working! Yeah perhaps the gameplay is too simple and not enough interesting for that many levels. Thanks a lot for your review! :D

Crystal Core by Thomas_Bringer 2021-04-29T06:08:01Z

@adamphoebe Thanks a lot! Yeah I spent a lot of time on 3d modeling & texture painting, though, but I guess making a nice-looking 3d game in 48 hours is pretty tough!

@wooliii Thank you so much! Astroneer was an inspiration indeed. And yeah I originally wanted to add enemies and more, but just ran out of time :)

@nosfer Thanks a lot! Yeah I hand-painted textures & normal maps for this game :)

Crystal Core by Thomas_Bringer 2021-04-30T09:43:45Z

@jk5000 @caeonosphere Thank you! Yeah difficulty was quite hard to balance... (if you look at other comments, some players were frustrated because of the instant death, but I agree that it probably feels too easy) :)

@frostfall @niklas-zhaga Thank you so much! :D

@masaru Thanks a lot! The planet textures and normal maps were hand-painted in Inkscape during the jam (not procedurally generated). Unfortunately I couldn't come up with a better technique to unwrap the spheres during the jam, and I used an icosphere instead of a UV sphere. But yeah I realized that maybe this problem could be solved by using a subdivised cube. Or maybe tiling the texture instead of actually rotating the planet. Anyway it's definitely an issue I would have loved to solve during the time constraint :)

Molehills by voidfishing 2021-04-27T12:58:53Z

Great graphics! Liked the small intro, too :) I think it lacks some sort of challenge maybe, dangers to avoid, or perhaps a timer to try to get to the end as fast as possible ? But already pretty nice for a game jam :)

Soaring Under by jitspoe 2021-04-27T12:53:23Z

Cool graphics, liked the gameplay as well, and the sound design was really clever. A bit hard for me to control myself, but had a good time trying to get the hang of it. Congrats! :D

Mage basement cleaning services by RedKitsune 2021-04-27T14:50:33Z

Wow, that is some crazy amount of work for 72 hours! Great spells, animations, VFX, music, that make for some epic combat. (Perhaps a bit too many enemies at the end, and it gets a bit repetitive.) I'm impressed. Congrats! :D

Deeper and Lighter by romangraef89 2021-04-29T09:45:21Z

Great work! The mini games were very diverse and enjoyable. I also appreciate to creative take on the theme. What I really liked is that the overall project is very polished (which is often missing in game jam games), the game feels great with transition between mini games, button feedback, custom cursor, nice sfx, etc, and it makes such a difference :D Congrats!

Blackout by Frasse 2021-04-27T15:57:29Z

Such a nice entry! Some really great narrative, and a cool ending. The riddles were really nice, I like how the goal was always clear ("I need a sharp object", "nicotine, upstairs"...) And great pixel art. Great job! :D

Deep in the sea by hamzaplayssssssssss 2021-04-27T16:10:15Z

Nice game! I'd say I'm not a huge fan of the music and some of the graphics, though. I think adding some effects like bubbles would help a lot to get the feeling of actually going deeper. But for compo it's already pretty cool! :D

Aquaphobia by Szenos 2021-04-29T09:27:44Z

Nice entry! Liked the idea & narration, great effort with the voice over, too. In my opinion some part of the graphics could be improved (but some sprites were pretty neat, too). And sometimes the collisions felt a little weird, as if the collider didn't really match the sprite size. But overall, pretty cool! :D

Dive & Dig by andrewkennedy 2021-05-02T17:33:46Z

Nice game! That take on the theme was really clever, and it makes for some interesting gameplay. Liked the overall polish with particle effects & nice audio. I think the game itself might lack a bit of challenge, but I really liked the concept and you already got a lot of stuff done in only 48 hours :D

Deem by AdamPhoebe 2021-04-27T20:18:48Z

Nice entry! definitely fun to play with blocks to build stuff and dig holes. I wasn't really sure what to do though, and kinda expected something at the bottom of the map, because of the theme. I really appreciate the save system, it's pretty sick for Ludum Dare. Had a great time playing your game! :D

Deep Sleep by Link270 2021-04-27T16:33:19Z

Wow, great entry! I really appreciate your take on the theme, your game definitely stands out from all of these games where you go down or dig. Great narrative on a subject that is difficult to address. Congrats! :D

Deeper Caverns by Quartzified Studios 2021-04-27T15:14:06Z

Don't Chute the Messenger by DecadeDecaf 2023-05-03T19:29:12Z

Great game! I really liked the mood and visuals. Gameplay reminded me of a board game 'Snakes and ladders', and I really liked the way you redesign the concept. Solid entry, congrats :)

edit: just realized 'Snakes and ladders' is the same as 'Chutes and ladders' x)

Skyway Delivery by Pincushion 2023-05-03T18:12:16Z

K-SANDWICH by mmatt_ugh 2023-05-02T16:43:31Z

Great game! Really polished & juicy, the punch feels very impactful! Good job

PigCulture by sami822 2023-05-04T15:21:27Z

Nice game! I liked the underwater exploration. A few things to imrpove might be: make the text brighter so it's easier to read, and make the controls a little more tight. Other than that, nice entry!

Robin Hood Christmas by cavedens 2023-05-03T19:13:00Z

Nice game! I like stealth games a lot. A small bug was that I could clip through walls sometimes. But still a great entry, congrats :)

Crazy Baby Delivery by pauvictor 2023-05-03T18:24:16Z

Interesting concept :) that was a funny take on the theme. I suggest adding some background visual elements. Nice job!

Crystallium by MikoziQ 2023-05-03T19:35:34Z

Cool game! art looks cool. Reminds me of an old mobile game 'Zigzag' by ketchapp. GG!

Crunch Time by made3 2023-05-02T16:26:50Z

Cool game! Love the idea and the take on the theme. Maybe gameplay is a bit repetitive, and also the music was a little annoying to me. Still I really enjoyed it, good job!

Duck and also Fire by Cogent.Invalid 2023-05-03T18:19:57Z

Funny little game, with fun & unique gameplay. I think the visuals are especially funny. Good job!

PuffyCats by Iacopo 2023-05-02T17:13:20Z

Cool game! Great visuals. Liked the gameplay a lot, too. Great you had time to add a leaderboard!

Special Delivery! by cobrajs 2023-05-03T19:09:18Z

Cool game! I really like the 8-bit audio & visuals. Gameplay works really well, fun and fits the theme. Congrats!

Winter Factory by Jul._.li 2023-05-02T17:18:28Z

Great game! Really liked the idea and the execution. The visuals & souds work really well with the gameplay. Congrats!

Sorting Center Savant by ZungryWare 2023-05-02T16:34:32Z

Great game! Really unique puzzle mechanics here. Looks somewhat like a sokoban at first, but plays really differently--i think controlling conveyor belts and fans instead of a player character is quite rare. (Quick ergonomy tip: you may wanna consider having a 'undo' button in these kinds of puzzle games.) Congrats!

Ricardo's Busy Day by Floke 2023-05-04T14:54:57Z

Nice game! It was a little hard to control for me (car goes fast), but I like the concept and it was fun. Music is nice, too. GG!

Cyndermine Mail Delivery Service by simmo 2023-05-04T14:48:51Z

Nice game! I like the concept a lot. Two ideas to improve it: add more feedback to the player when he misses a button, or succeeeds (maybe messages Perfect/Good/Missed or something), and polish the visuals of the menu. Good job!

edit: I forgot to mention but the soundtracks are really great gg!

Pigeon Brigade by Iqoribou 2023-05-02T17:34:27Z

Nice game! Cool art style and gameplay. In the beginning I had a bit of a hard time figuring what I should do. Also I think the pigeons are a bit slow. But still nice game, good job!

Devilery Delivery by ellaris 2023-05-03T18:52:25Z

I'm glad I already had Opera :joy:

Cool game! I think gameplay was a bit confusing at first. Still good job :)

We Suck At Deliveries by Blo 2023-05-02T17:23:18Z

Nice game! The art is really nice. I'd suggest having regular 3PS controls for this game (i'd rather rotate the view with the mouse than with Q&E), but that's a minor problem. Overall good job!

WEB in AIR by Yizao 2023-05-04T15:10:16Z

Nice game! Idea is interesting for sure. I think the one thing to imrpove might be introducing to the game, a (maybe interactive) tutorial would make a huge difference. Make sure your players know the controls and the goal of the game. But I get the fact that it's hard to make a tutorial in 48h so good job anyway!

Delivery Witch by kgurniak91 2023-05-04T15:04:24Z

Cool little game! I like the concept a lot, it's clever and could be expanded. Loved the refs to Kiki obviously. I think the most priority thing to improve though is the character movement, it needs polish. Overall nice entry!

Great game! Feels like Sokoban meets Hotline Miami. Good job on the song too.

Micromachines by HolyBlackCat 2023-10-03T08:06:57Z

Amazing game! Core mechanic is unique and deep. I felt like an engineer on level 2 after re-inventing walking haha. GG!

Cool game! Loved the aesthetics, atmosphere & voicelines.

Feng Tetra by Marin0104 2023-10-11T07:41:55Z

Nice game! I really liked the concept and the visuals. I think it deserves a little bit of tweeking (maybe the furniture should fall slower, and the score to unlock next level is a bit high), but overall it was a great entry.

Going Up by Human Writes Code 2023-10-03T06:50:23Z

Excellent game! Loved it. Audio was especially polished (voices + sfx + music). GG!

Bubble Trouble by Thomas_Bringer 2023-10-03T13:22:35Z

@jiri-hysek Thanks! I mean the whole point of the game was to not give checkpoints haha--but I get that not everyone enjoys rage games! Thanks again for commenting.

Bubble Trouble by Thomas_Bringer 2023-10-03T13:23:20Z

@gastricsparrow Yep, I agree on the lack of visual feedback. Thanks for playing!

Bubble Trouble by Thomas_Bringer 2023-10-03T13:24:27Z

@human-writes-code Thanks a lot! The part you're in is just an outpost to a future level. You actually have to swim back up to the previous level, then go left.

Bubble Trouble by Thomas_Bringer 2023-10-04T13:12:46Z

@a327ex Yep the checkpoint system was actually designed to be unfair haha. Agreed on the lack of visual feedback. Thanks for commenting!

Loved this one! The mechanic goes well with the sokoban type of game, and puzzles are clever. Really enjoy the 8-bit style as well. GG!

Though I Walk by AdamCYounis 2023-10-03T06:56:14Z

Amazing game! Artstyle is amazing, and that gameplay mechanic is really innovative and solid. Would make for a really cool complete game if you ever continue the project. Congrats!

LD55 — Summoning

Summoner Story by Nicso 2024-04-18T18:05:57Z

Incredible game. Best compo game I played so far. Graphics and polish is phenomenal, I love the lighting effect. The riddles are great, not to obvious, not too hidden. I looooved the last riddle, and I'm glad I was able to figure it out. Thanks for making this!

Alien Crab in the Extamaze by jebouin 2024-04-17T11:31:05Z

Great game. Combining puzzle and action is for sure unique. I really appreciated the overall polish with (animations, sounds, particles). Congrats!

Deep by MaggardJosh 2024-04-16T21:00:36Z

Great game! I liked finding new upgrades allowing to go deeper and deeper. Gameplay and visuals were neat. Thanks for making this!

Patty Panic by thomz12 2024-04-17T17:10:59Z

Wow, that game was amazing! I'm a fan of the overcooked games so this was incredible. Overall polish is excellent, and the difficulty curve was perfect! Congrats!

Cup of Summon by frnknstn 2024-04-17T11:08:09Z

Great concept. I felt slightly overwhelmed by the amount on information on screen, I also didn't quite understand how to cook some of the orders. I really liked the idea though, and the visuals were great. Overall, great, keep it up!

The Summoning at River's Edge by Flaterectomy 2024-04-17T11:16:42Z

Nice game, I liked the writing. I think the music was really awesome. Maybe, I like it when text adventures do have some visuals still, or some more interactions, but it's still a solid entry.

Triage and Motion by Literally Void 2024-04-16T20:45:20Z

This game was excellent! Game feel was brillant. Animations, sounds, it felt very responsive. The different turrets were simple and great to create interesting strategies. Congrats!

Mana Tactics by argensis 2024-04-16T19:25:14Z

Nice game! The mechanic is neat, I think it could make for a great strategy game. I didn't have anyone to play with at the moment, but was still able to appreciate the game. I think you made a pretty good job with the UI to explain quickly a relatively complex game. Good job!

Runic Summoner by freamdev 2024-04-17T11:46:59Z

Cool game overall! I liked the graphics and audio a lot. I have a few suggestions if you want to expand the game: - make the character a little bit faster to improve feeling of control - rotate the camera towards the closest enemies - add character animations

Overall a cool entry, gg!

Hellcaster by p-r 2024-04-16T21:17:44Z

Interersting game. Concept was very hard to understand to me. You might want try to communicate the rules clearly to the player, maybe by showing examples. Still good job on making this!

Loitsumaali by vinzBad 2024-04-16T19:30:49Z

Nice concept, I liked it. I think it has a lot of potential, maybe for a mobile game, maybe with the ability to discover various spells. I did have minor bugs with the controls on PC, but nothing too tedious. Overall nicely done!

Delvecologist by Wheffle 2024-04-16T21:23:00Z

Great game! Reminds me of Into the breach (one of my favourite games). I love the artstyle. I love the mechanic where you can calculate in your mind what's gonna happen and plan to place your units (kind of like chess, or into the breach). Congrats!

High School of Conjuration by fumybulb 2024-04-17T11:38:56Z

Nice game. Concept is cool and reminds me of Badeline from Celeste. I liked how it required some strategic thinking about in which order to summon the demons. Only complain is about the controls and hitboxes who felt a bit clumsy/unfair sometimes. A pretty solid entry.

the call of the rats by coatline 2024-04-18T18:16:49Z

Nice game. I liked the art, and the wavy dialogues!

Sigils Of Abyss by Jokku 2024-05-03T17:29:56Z

Visuals are gorgeous for me, 20/20. Now I would probably like to know a little bit more what combinations do what beforehand. Although I understand it's interesting to discover them. Maybe emphasize more on the discovery (every combination discovered could be shown in a book for instance). Overall it's a cool concept, thank you for making this!

@maggardjosh @tater-hater @quinn Thanks a lot everyone! Glad you liked the game!

Principal's Office by Thomas_Bringer 2024-04-18T17:27:35Z

@silkworm-sweatshop @ellaris @coatline @harmadillo @mohammed-kapiel @wo-ri-gou-le @norah Thank you so much everyone! Most people seem to enjoy the writing and the visuals and I'm really glad about that. Many of you suggested to speak to everyone before making a verdict / being able to ask all questions before making a verdict. It was actually a design decision on my end to force the player to make a decision while not having all the info. Also my goal for the game was to make it more like a fun, not serious, silly experience. Although, I understand that many people liked the deductive aspect, and would have loved to have more access to info. In the end both approaches have their pros and cons, but I take notes of the criticism, so thanks everyone!

@coatline Good job on finding a glitch haha!

Principal's Office by Thomas_Bringer 2024-04-18T17:31:26Z

@wo-ri-gou-le may I take a moment to communicate my profound admiration and respect for your exemplary playthrough, esteemed principal

Principal's Office by Thomas_Bringer 2024-04-19T12:48:31Z

@mohammed-kapiel Yeah you're right, in the end I think it's often about communication to the player. So probably next time I'll try to better introduce the concept to the player! Thanks for the comment

From Below by Pincushion 2024-04-18T18:10:54Z

Interesting game. I wish the game would have slightly better introduced, with interactive tutorial for instance, since the game is very complex. Nice job!

The Summoning Circle by Harmadillo 2024-04-16T20:30:45Z

Nice game! Concept is very cool. I got stuck on some riddles, but it was nice to be able to glance at the solution. There could be some minor quality of life improvements, like being able to proceed to next dialogue. Besides I liked the audio and the effect when summoning. Overall solid entry!

Summoners of the Rings by Thoastbot 2024-04-16T19:37:49Z

Concept is strong and works well. The main thing lacking I think is game juice/attack animations, to make the combat a bit more entertaining. But from a game design/balancing point of view, the game is interesting for sure. With a bit work on the presentation it could be incredible.

The Worst Wizard by Gabriel Bissonnette 2024-04-18T17:43:44Z

Amazing game. The overal presentation is brilliant. Art, animations, audio, polish, light, particles, it's really perfect. The main mechanic is nice, too. Dialogues are well-written. Perfect!

IWANT by CO5MONAUT 2024-04-16T20:02:12Z

I like the artstyle a lot. Gameplay sounds interesting, but I wasn't able to fully understand how it worked. I only managed to create 2 sentences after several minutes. I did make clusters with 'I want' in the middle and 4 distinct thoughts connected, but it didn't work. I came to the conclusion that the sentence needed an adverb to work (but I don't think it was said anywhere?). And my problem was that I had almost no adverb spawning on the grid. Anyway, I think it's a shame because the game idea and visuals are incredible. With a bit of better communication I think it would be more enjoyable. I suggest you give example of sentences in the instructions so that people know what kind of words they need for it to work.

Familial Familiar by ellaris 2024-04-17T11:55:39Z

Game is interesting. My main problem is that the game was broken both on ld site and on itch: on ld I couldn't see my accuracy or fill percentage, while on itch I couldn't see the template to draw from. Maybe I missed something. Anyway, don't get stopped by bugs, your game concept still sounded interesting!

Familial Familiar by ellaris 2024-04-17T13:42:11Z

@ellaris Okat, I gave the project another go and it worked. Sorry, probably an issue on my end then, I should have tried reloading my browser. I was able to appreciate the nice summoning mechanic. Thank you for making this game!

6 Kadabra Resurgam Ocus by nathmate 2024-04-16T20:40:36Z

Nice concept! I did struggle a bit with my french keyboard though. But definitely some creative use of the theme here. GG!

Nectar Nexus by Jupiterintardis 2024-04-19T07:26:03Z

Hi! A nice puzzle game! I especially liked the mood given by the music and the beautiful graphics. Unfortunately I was stuck at puzzle 16 and couldn't figure out the answer with the solution given on the github, but I had a good time trying to solve the puzzles. Thanks!

The Summoning Goes On by Inkweeper 2024-04-16T20:34:14Z

One of the best games I played so far. Concept is simple, easy to understand, hard to master because you need to remember the different spells, which is perfect. Pixel art is great, so is audio. Great entry!

Winds of Change by Zamizmi 2024-04-16T20:13:06Z

Great game! Concept is very cool. There might be some minor balance/map change to be made to avoid impossible situations. Overall I liked the art, the fact that the concept was innovative and self-explanatory. Really great job here!

Eulerian Demons by ghettobastler 2024-04-16T20:49:54Z

Wow, that game felt super cool to play. Concept is awesome, graphics are great, sounds are satisfying. 10/10 for me, perfect!

Cult of the Damned: [placeholder]...summoning ritual by VGxmeCrew52 2024-05-03T18:18:30Z

Interesting idea. Was a bit hard to figure out what I was supposed to do. But concept is interesting! Also, I can't rate your game (stars won't show up)

The seven crystals by Mibi88 2024-05-03T18:15:24Z

Nice game, cool idea. A little improvements could be made to make the game clearer, like more contrast between walls and the floor, and not getting spawned killed. Otherwise I had fun, thanks for making this!

Slaymore by Joshua Miller-Pio 2024-05-03T17:17:55Z

Cool game, loved the art and concept. Only complain is the character movement / physics that felt a little janky. Overall I had a good time, thanks for making this!

Aphrodite's Day Off by RileyKhin 2024-05-03T19:24:14Z

Nice game! Cool, chill mood. I loved the visuals and the writing. Had a great time, thanks!

Deadly Roots by Vincent4096 2024-05-03T17:33:40Z

Concept is super cool. I felt disappointed when I was stuck because of lack of money, but I guess it depends on wether you're going more for a puzzle game type of thing or a tower defense game. Either way, concept has enormous potential.

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Blobbies by tuism 2024-10-17T16:36:45Z

Super cute, absolutely adore it, the game feel is excellent! The expression on the blobs, the perfect sound design, the pop effect... Had a blast, congrats on this!

Hooverfield by Ava Skoog 2024-10-24T18:29:57Z

Very cool! Not really a game indeed, but very fun to play around with... and that's the most important part in my opinion. Great game feel and sound effects!

Microstrike by TheSand 2024-10-10T12:27:29Z

Nice, reminds me of Agario! Gameplay loop is very classic but still works okay. I'd recommend pushing the game juice a little further! Add sfx, particles, white flash on damage, screen shake, ... So much little detail could be added but would make an enormous difference. Also I'd suggest adding some kind of textured background to emphasize the movement.

All in all, a solid entry with potential!

Tiny Creatures by Geckoo1337 2024-10-24T15:57:21Z

Beefore the end by sebbernery 2024-10-10T12:41:31Z

I very much like the theming of the game! The drawing path gameplay is very cool, reminds me of some RTS games. A few suggestions on things to improve: - Should be able to enter the hive from anywhere (not just the entrance on the right) - Gameplay is a little bit slow to my taste - Add some sfx (music is nice, but sfx could add an extra thing!)

All in all great stuff there already!

TINY PACK by xk_the_name 2024-10-14T10:43:57Z

Very very very cool on all aspects. I especially enjoyed the well-balanced game design and the cute creatures design. I'm really shocked that people can make such games in 48h, take a step back cause that's absolutely mind boggling. A huge congrats!

smolHunt by ping78 2024-10-09T14:08:39Z

smol feedback: liked it, pretty nice! liked the contrast between the cuteness of the cat and the violence of the game haha. would love it to get expanded (go outside? interact with humans? there's so much to do!) feels a little limited right now but I understand that you have to cut your scope in game jams (I did the same haha). good job!

Whiskers of Fear by tinykidtoo 2024-10-08T09:16:48Z

Amazing game! When the theme came out one of my ideas was something similar (first person while being super small). I ended up going for a much different game idea because I'm not so good at 3D, but I'm glad someone with talent made it, better than I could have made! It looks very good, even on the web build!

Critter Switcher by torcado 2024-10-10T11:52:52Z

One of my fav games! The game design is excellent. Getting to know the different enemies and strategies was a blast. I love how the enemy's moves are really tied to the kind of insect they are like the caterpillar and the snail. The zelda-like aspect was super enjoyable, too. Simply perfect!

Slime King by Sn4pi 2024-10-16T15:28:36Z

Very nice game! I really appreciate the overall polish: e.g the cursor looks very nice, animations and sfx are satifsying, etc. The gameplay loop is very enjoyable. I also like the chess inspiration for the king (or is it chess-inspired?) Maybe the thing is most of the time I kept running and dodging with my king to avoid attacks and let the other slimes do the attacking, and it worked well, but as soon as I wanna play an attacking slime, I take risks for my king (especially when there are bullets), which encourages to keep moving the king around, which maybe there should be some downside of doing so (and some nudge to play the other slimes). But that's a minor thing, game was excellent. GG!

Insecterminator by recyx 2024-10-16T17:47:41Z

Very very cool! Love the graphics! The vampire survivors game loop is simple but effective. Games looks extremely polished for such a small time. I'd suggest tweaking some sfx so that they have more "punch" to it (this is an action game after all). But I'm being very picky here, this is an excellent game!

Tiny Tribe by silkworm_sweatshop 2024-10-16T18:32:48Z

Very nice! Those graphics are hella cute! Loved the chill gameplay, good job!

Cellspace: Cellular Automata Sandbox by loveapplegames 2024-10-14T10:23:43Z

Nice, very nerdy, but very cool. Was looking through cellular automata recently when studying level generation techniques. More an interesting tool to simulate stuff than a game (not a bad thing!)

Tiny Apple by DocGeraud 2024-10-08T20:22:20Z

J'adore ! L'utilisation du thĂšme est vraiment trĂšs sympa, la boucle de gameplay type idle game trĂšs cool, les dessins tout mignons, les bruits de bouche parfaits... Vraiment rien Ă  redire

Those Darn Nanobot AI Will Be The End of Us All by mrspeaker 2024-10-10T12:33:29Z

Very nice! The artstyle is truly one of a kind, kinda weird, kinda scary, but actually kinda cool! At least I like to see something fresh and new. Same goes for the controls, that's kinda unique and strange, but works really well. Overall very well made and keep making things that are different, I genuinely believe we need more diversity in visuals and gameplay.

Chirpy's Adventure by DJTequila 2024-10-16T18:28:31Z

Nice game, cool mechanic! A bit laggy, had spike lags, and collisions feel a bit clanky. The color thing is really cool, maybe would be cool if taught in-game somehow. And a respawn button would be nice. Anyway a pretty good job nonetheless!

Carrot Patch by Historymaker118 2024-10-08T08:23:40Z

Love it! PICO games are always favourites of mine. Idea is simple and works really well. I would suggest being able to hold down keys to keep moving. Great game!

Fifty Six LilyPads by dhim 2024-10-08T14:23:51Z

Very very cool strategy game! I feel like it's hard to find innovative board games, but you did it brilliantly, game design 5/5.

Don't have much to criticize, loved the game, keep it up

Skyward Soar by Hybitous 2024-10-22T16:13:13Z

Nice! I think the movement has very good potential. At the current state it feels a little unfinished: movement needs polish (some jitter, etc) and the maps look a bit prototypy. But it still is a promising concept! I hope you take it further!

Mr. Doctor by Dudum Lare 2024-10-20T12:33:42Z

Really cool! Felt like I was in my daily job haha with this interface, emails and everything. The microscope is really neat with little details that make it feel like a real microscope. Really slick!

The Noir Library by Jeffez 2024-10-14T10:01:56Z

Nice game! Love the inspection part and trying to find clues. It's pretty cool that the story is based of classic litterature. The graphics and audio are kindof stylish in a way, different for sure. Nice job!

Home place by detectiveLosos 2024-10-10T07:38:21Z

First of all, the art is absolutely stunning. Second, I'm an absolute fan of that level design! Going through caves underneath the map and all, the map feels connected, places look iconic, I would love to play some metroidvania looking like that.

A few details that perhaps could be improved: - Character movements felt just a little bit slippy to me, I'd love it to be extra snappy - Sometimes the UI text will be half-hidden behind a door (when interacting with a door) - Add some animation to the player when walking, even if it's just slightly rotating the sprite left and right

A really really cool game, keep it up!

Heartlings by Flightless 2024-10-22T16:18:32Z

Very cute and cozy! Kinda reminds me of Pixar's Inside out. The paper style is awesome! Maybe go even further, like add a photo of scissors and other paper-y props! Overall very chill and enjoyable thanks to a great writing

Night Critter by MateusBoga 2024-10-10T13:06:38Z

Very very cool, absolutely love it! It's kinda "Snake, but you can't see" (well, not really, but kinda). I really love how you used the theme, and the black and white graphics are stunning. For some reason, the soundtrack reminds me of the one from Pirates of the Caribbean, which I love haha. Anyway fantastic job!

Titan Shadow by Korteh 2024-10-24T18:39:45Z

Very neat! The titan looks and feels amazing: great animations, great particles, great sound effects. Giving me Shadow of the Colossus vibe. Maybe some small polish could be the player to have a tired animation when low on stamina (maybe sweating or smth, like in Celeste) just to communicate to the player he can no longer climb and stuff. Also I'd expect to be smashed by the feet of the titan when being underneath, but okay. Had a lot of fun with this one, keep it up!

P.-S. the pixel textures look really really cool, too!

Tiny Trooper by Juutis 2024-10-08T10:04:04Z

Cool game! I absolutely love the idea and toy-story style soldiers. The animation of the soldier hopping is gold, and the retro pixel style works really well.

The one thing that I didn't like as much is the controls, I see no real reason for not having the typical WASD (not steering or something) + mouse to aim and shoot. The controls feel like moving a tank here, and the game is hard: not because of its enemies or levels, but because of its control, so when you lose you kind of blame it on the controls.

Still an innovative entry with tons of potential!

Highway Crossing Frog by jcbeaureg 2024-10-14T11:39:43Z

Very nice! To me this is basically Gigachad Frogger, which is hilarious. The animations on the humanoid frog had me rolling. The moment when I realized I could just walk in the water was pretty hilarious too. Nice job parodying an existing game. Maybe gameplay wise it's a little limited, but still like the overall frogger parody

@wo-ri-gou-le Hey thanks! Glad to hear my vector style is recognizable that's pretty cool you found me again haha!

@oldtoadpower Thanks! The whole snail coding is a bit involved haha. From a physics point of view it switches from a Character Body that tries to attach to surfaces to a Rigid Body when in the shell. From a graphics point of view the snail consists of a shell sprite and a line made of points to make the tail, all procedurally animated. The tail tries to attach to the surface using raycasts. Hope that makes some sense, not so easy to explain in such few words!

First of all thanks everyone folks, I am overwhelmed by the good response! :fire:

@shp Thanks! Yup, tried to find a balance between snails being slow and fun gameplay haha

@bromakesgames Wow thanks!

@noobman64 Haha thanks!

@dhim Yup, I experimented with another control scheme where it flips your input when you release a key and are upside down. In the end, it seemed more complicated than it should be, so I changed back to the current input scheme. But it's a matter of preference, and I think it would be great to have that as a setting.

@sudocoffee Yeah dunno either but I thought it gave a nice chill vibe. Thanks!

@dingbat Thanks, appreciate it!

@adam-konig I can't agree more, I wanted to make the game twice as long in the beginning! I feel like both the rolling mechanic and the mushrooms are underused. But you know what it's like to cut the scope of a game haha

@aviv-levy Thank you so much!

@enderswype Classic haha, half people miss the 2 at the beginning lol

@mrspeaker Thanks! Well the game has its lots of bugs, but by some miracle, they are quite rare. Seen from my developer perspective (and witnessed the buggy mess it used to be), it truly is a miracle that it plays without so many bugs in the end haha

Flea Patrol by Sviborg 2024-10-08T14:05:04Z

Nice game, looks good and is fun to play! Some levels are kinda hard or require just spam or repeating to get through, I'd also consider adding more sfx. Otherwise, visually appealing, and great usage of the theme. Great work here!

PATCHONOMICON by pepnou 2024-10-10T11:26:47Z

Great concept! Loved that there was a fill score + a color score. I love how lively the tiny creatures are, with their little animations, good job!

Tiny nomads by Vhalenn 2024-10-08T11:08:39Z

Super cool game! Loved the pikimin style creatures. The overall presentation is very well made, music is nice, day and nice cycle is cool, graphics are beautiful, very moody. Maybe I would like the game to have a clearer purpose, like, OK I'm gathering resources, but it's not so clear at first what the resources or the creatures are for. Overall a great entry!

Immune Defense by fnelix 2024-10-10T12:10:46Z

Very very fun! Being a plant vs zombies enthusiast, I enjoyed your game which has very good theming I thought (like the bones and stuff, very clever). I also liked the 2.5D aesthetic. Not much to criticize, very well made!

Ultimate Mug Ball: Desktop Edition III by Jahwffrey 2024-10-20T12:40:28Z

Looks great! I really like the 3D office. The concept feels really fun. Maybe it was a little complicated to understand at first, and maybe the platforming physics + camera movements could be better. Solid entry!

Rummaging Raccoon by LucaVazz 2024-10-16T17:35:24Z

Nice game! Really liked the nice papery UI. A bit hard to figure out what to do at first, but very nice.

Gnomin' by Jvdwijk 2024-10-14T10:08:58Z

Very nice! Could clearly see the Getting over it vibe, and the controls are quite nice. Levels are cool, too! I think the game would benefit from overall polish though: maybe character animations, and sound effects when the pickaxe hits something. Nice work overall.

Save Nebuville by Blue Pin Studio 2024-10-08T11:40:48Z

Super cool game! The shooting is highly satisfying and the particles are nice. Love the overall progress with the upgrades and all. Very well done.

W.A.S.P. - Warrior And Scout Protocol by Paroxysmal 2024-10-10T12:17:18Z

Nice game! Compelling retro pixel art and audio! I felt like the gameplay was a bit repetitive/lacked a bit of depth, but it was still pretty satisfying blasting those bees and getting upgrades, still an effective gameplay loop. Good stuff here.

Shrimp Tank Simulator by Harmadillo 2024-10-08T17:33:33Z

Nice game with cool shop mechanics! Liked managing those tiny shrimps, keep it up!

Snail Trivia Race by GameDevTraum 2024-10-14T10:15:07Z

Very cool! Randomly got a bunch of questions correct, luck was on my side haha. Maybe the race could be a little bit more linked to the questions somehow, but I appreciate the visual boost when getting a question correct. Very solid entry!

Microbe match maker by martonel 2024-10-10T08:07:03Z

Interesting concept, and creative usage of the theme!

I noticed a few issues for me though: - The drag and drop mechanic feels a bit unresponsive: sometimes I dropped a microbe but it won't get in the slot (problem with the hitbox probably) - The help menu is overwhelmingly large. For a first level, should probably start with less information. + the menu is kind of hard to navigate (scroll is real slow, have to drag with mouse), would benefit to show more info at the same time. Also, who cares about who *doesn't* get along together? to win, you just need to find pairs that get along. You could simplify that UI so much. - Maybe linked to the previous issue, but I feel like it's a shame that there's no real link between the shape, color of the microbe and the fact that they get along--it's "just" because the designer decided some conventions in a help menu. Honestly I would suggest a redesign being: there's no help menu. Creatures have, say, 3 features: color, size, and shape. The more features they have in common, the more they get along (or maybe the opposite? could be actually more interesting maybe!) And you just have to organize them to maximize the "overall happiness". That would be a pretty dramatic change, but I think it could work really well! I feel like it would make the player think more about the creatures instead of just reading some rules in a help menu.

Don't get me wrong the game has potential that's why I'm writing all those ideas, I just feel like the game hasn't unleashed its true potential yet, from a game design point of view. Also haven't said it enough but the creatures look real cute. Good stuff there!

Immune Invasion by goldenXD 2024-10-08T17:40:53Z

Great game! Reminds me of agario. The theming was nice and I liked the DNA sequence alignment thing to mutate. Love the overall visuals. Maybe needs a little balancing as when starting it was very simple and then a huge crowd of enemies started chasing me and I felt overwhelmed. A good job overall!

Dollhouse Blaze by ugly_robot 2024-10-08T18:58:59Z

Cool game, concept is very fun! Gameplay is engaging and the tiny house is cute. I think the UI style clashes a bit with the house style and the text a bit hard to read. Some sfx would be nice. Overall a solid entry!

TUSK by NBumgardner 2024-10-22T16:23:23Z

Nice! Like the feel and visuals. The UI is really overwhelming for a newbie. If you wish to continue with this project, teaching the mechanics to new players will be a major stake. Anyway good job!

Zombies Ate My Fruits by smiley405 2024-10-08T11:14:22Z

Love it! Visually appealing and gameplay is fun. Dunno why corn gives laser beams but ngl, absolutely love it. I think the level design works really well, there's a bit of strategy to it regarding which power to use, with the limited resources. GG!

Colony by Arscene 2024-10-08T13:58:42Z

Very cool game with involved strategy in it! Gameplay wise it's pretty cool, maybe a little bit hard to get started. To improve, I would focus on 2 things: 1) it doesn't quite feel like a complete game without audio, 2) graphics: don't get me wrong the cards look nice, but I think it would be cool to have the cards be less generic: you could have different creatures, different locations to explore (cave, jungle, idk) and it would make the game feel a little more lively. Plus people love collecting cards when there's a sense of rarity.

Anyway a very cool entry!

Tiny Suspect by Prolich 2024-10-09T14:21:35Z

Great game, looks really good! Audio ambiance is really nice. The puzzles are quite good! If you expand the game, here's what I would suggest: have several documents/source of information to look at. Maybe here, it would be interesting to NOT have the photos on the documents but just on the TV, so that you actually have to search for the information you want. Like: does suspect 1 have glasses? lemme check on my tv. You could have other mechanics like that, maybe using different medium: for example, would be very cool to be able to listen to voicemail, or read e-mails, or look at photos. Just throwing a bunch of ideas here, dunno what would work though.

Anyway a really cool entry, there's so much potential!

Survival of the Shadowlings by Jhonny111 2024-10-16T15:15:49Z

Very neat, I love the idea a lot! Works really well as a chill puzzle game. Maybe some extra polish / QoL features would be nice, some suggestions: highlight the creature when the cursor hovers on top of it, just to let you know that it's interactable, add some more sound effects, add a simple explanation of what items do when hovering your cursor over an item (a hint popup maybe), allow the player to speed up or even pause the simulation (that might seem like cheating but it felt like a puzzle game to me so if it's a puzzle game you could consider allow players to stop and think, or speeding up when they found the solution).

These are just suggestions that came through my mind but the game still feels complete and fun so really nice job!

Derpy by Mololo 2024-10-08T11:31:47Z

Great game! Looks fun from the first glance. The theme with the miniature cars is awesome. The car's designs are terrific. Keep it up!

Planet Worm by Knipsch 2024-10-08T08:17:54Z

Great game! I really loved the idea, the gameplay and visuals. Reminds me of Astroneer, or just looking for diamond in Minecreaft. I do have tiny remarks but keep in mind these are just small details that were not very bothering: - Cursor should be hidden and locked to the center of the screen (like in first person or third person games) - We can often see the breaking geometry in a way we maybe shouldn't (... but that would be a nightmare to fix) - It is a bit hard sometimes to tell the depth in the scene (maybe a matter of textures/shading/lighting) - Missed opportunity to make the planet a giant apple, I think it would make the theming a little better

Once again these are tiny suggestions, but my overall experience was awesome, so congrats!

Plankton Rush Hour by Void4 2024-10-08T08:56:46Z

A very nice game, I loved the idea, graphics and gameplay. I have some suggestions: - A menu with no graphics and just plain text looks a bit sad you know - The story feels a little bit disconnected to the gameplay. Maybe consider telling the story through the gampeplay sometimes, or maybe putting some writing closer to the gameplay (speech bubbles?) I mean I don't know what would work on this game, but you get the general idea. - Graphics are nice, I'm a big fan of that work place gate. But the overall graphics lack a bit of cohesion: menu doens't follow the same artstyle, and the general gameplay artstyle looks a bit different. - Make that background move to give the sensation of speed! (Maybe parallax would work if you're feeling fancy)

Again, game feels nice, these are just thoughts on some things you could improve, but already a great job!

Blob stomp by Noobman64 2024-10-08T18:52:02Z

Nice game, idea is neat. Some more polish on the squishing would be nice, but a solid entry!

Carnivorous Corpse Aquarium : Feed & Thrive by Adrien Tremblay 2024-10-16T15:41:04Z

Very nice game! Concept is very cool and gameplay loop is engaging. Could use some tweaking and balancing maybe: in the beginning you don't have much money to do whatever and in the end you just have to wait for the contracts. Also maybe change the font (or background) color on you itch.io page, some more contrast would make it easier to read.

A very cool entry! P.-S.: that soundtrack drops hard!

Ludum Dare 56 by Mantsje 2024-10-09T13:52:57Z

Really cool! First of all, humor = :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: (no debate there). Gameplay is a little bit unforgiving at first, but the abilities to manage the kids are really fun. A really fresh entry with the best take on the theme!

Produce, Sell and... Goblins? by Obidiix-MinusInfinity 2024-10-10T15:46:32Z

Game looks interesting and I love the lighting, unfortunately it was very unclear what to do to me, or even what button to press. I just walked around the room pressed E and saw a bunch of menus but didn't get what to do. Some in-game explanation would be nice. Still some potential!

Tiny Wars by ZioBob 2024-10-10T12:02:36Z

Pretty good, I enjoy auto battlers!

The biggest piece of advice I could give you though is to polish your game: add sound effects, make the combat very impactful with effects, stuff like that. For now the game feels a little bit "empty", looks more like a prototype than a complete game. Also I think some job could be made to make the game clearer to a new player: show the cost of an insect to the player, add a text "Buy" or something to convey the mechanics, etc. My last suggestion is to add a few more graphical assets to make it look less empty and also to keep a constant pixel size for your pixel art games (but that's a personal preference, some like it the way you did).

Anyway, great potential, but yeah game feel/polish is everything in my opinion, I'm sure you can take your game to the next level with a few simple tricks!

Shrimpy by Kultuk 2024-10-10T08:25:52Z

So great! What wins me is the overall presentation: from the visuals, animations to the audio, it feels very relaxing and polished, making it already a satisfying experience. Gameplay is simple and fun, works very well. Scored 8. Loved it!

AntVasion by SoloAdventurerGames 2024-10-08T11:54:55Z

Very cool! The theming is super nice. Gameplay is fun and I love the different maps. The one thing I would tweak is the collisions / the crosshair maybe: somehow I always struggle to hit the ants. Or maybe I'm just bad but sometimes it was like "how the hell did I not hit it" you know. A very solid entry still!

Critter Season by Trezark 2024-10-22T15:59:12Z

Very neat, love it! Gameplay loop is satisfying, overall visually pleasing, animations and texturing are really nice! a very cozy game!

Ladybird Samurai by ellaris 2024-10-08T14:09:09Z

Cool game! Loved the slashing mechanic idea. If I were to give a piece of advice, I'd focus on adding JUICE to the game! I'm talking about particle effects, screen shakes and other vfx. Make that combat feel impactful. Also the visuals feel a little bit 'empty', I mean minimalism is cool sometimes but here it kindof feels like it's missing something (or maybe it's just me).

All in all a solid entry, keep it up!

Battle Dots by nimbushead 2024-10-10T07:27:30Z

Nice game! The concept of the four armies is pretty nice. For me the one problem is understanding the game. The mechanics confused me, even after reading the description. It's not clear for me what there is to do more than buying factories- I mean sure I can click on triangles and they turn opaque, but what does this mean? no idea. For relatively complex games like this one it's often best to include some kind of in-game explanation.

Anyway it still looks like it's got a fair amount of potential, kinda reminds me of those short videos were some small dots battle for space on the screen or smth, good job! Could be interesting in multiplayer, too

Night at the 8th Warehouse (ć…«ć·ä»“ćș“ć„‡ćŠ™ć€œïŒ‰ by hidden61ade 2024-10-25T09:36:02Z

Super cool! The overall mood (light and audio greatly contribuing) is excellent and is this game's greatest asset. Two minor suggestions: 1) maybe polish the death screen a bit more, 2) I'm not a huge fan of the precision platforming elements, I feel like they don't combine really well with the horror genre (you can have platforming, but when having to do very precise jumps, I prefer to be able to see all my environment).

A great entry!

ORK SANTA BRING GIFT by Mayple 2024-10-14T10:19:39Z

So good, of course in the end I was like "what the hell did I just play" but I must admit that was both fun and silly. The sfx and visuals had me rolling, too. Great stuff

Small Problems To Grapple With by Tetracold 2024-10-25T09:43:08Z

First of all, even before playing, I'm a big fan of that artstyle! The itchio page itself looks splendid. Then, the music is such a banger, and gameplay is super fun. I really cant complain, super well made!

Blu by Mirtol 2024-10-10T08:19:47Z

Looks interesting, and skybox is very nice! Two thoughts that came through my mind: 1) feels a bit unclear what to do, I mean okay, there are tiny children following and a portal, but then I didn't know what was the real objective of the game, 2) it's actually a little hard to navigate a 3D space like this, as you have very little reference to realize your speed (only the portal). The game would maybe benefit from having iconic landmarks like planets just to give you some reference and percepetion of 3D space.

Game definitely has potential so good job here!

Cheese Siege by Snorps 2024-10-21T17:24:11Z

Cool game! First things first, the arstyle is incredibly clean, instant 5 stars for me, it's clear a talented artist is behind this. Now, gameplay disappointed me a little bit: on the one hand be cause some details lacked a bit of polish (some jitter, placing the cubes where you want is challenging), and on the other hand because the game doesn't have so much depth, it's basically just place a bunch of tanks and win (no balancing or real strategy).

Overall I still had a great impression on the game, the excellent visuals really sell the game. Great job!

Slingshot Delivery by i_cam 2024-10-08T08:31:29Z

Cool game! Physics take a bit of getting used to, but are fun for sure. The thing I would improve a little bit is communicating information to the player: what should I do? where should I go? But I get that exploring randomly can also be part of the fun as well. Anyway, a nice entry!

Feeding the Farm by Zamizmi 2024-10-08T20:12:52Z

Nice game, cool mechanic! Love the way the different animals are gradually introduced. Well done

Silly guys breakthrough by dreo 2024-10-14T10:31:09Z

Nice game, liked the animations and the little creature design. I think gameplay lacks a bit of strategy, and also it was hard to get the archers to actually shoot. Maybe some visual indicators could help. I do like the simple autobattler idea where you just drag units.

Nit N'Run by Mikl95 2024-10-16T17:22:17Z

Quite clunky, but a good start! The idea is nice and has great potential. I'd focus on improving the game feel, especially the controls (jump is strange) and the camera (often jittering, hard to control). Maybe add some texture to the floor, too. Keep working and it's only gonna get better!

Fridge Life by IRoRoI 2024-10-16T19:33:29Z

So funny, couldn't stop laughing. The animations at the party with the tomatoes had me rolling! Great job, loved exploring that fridge

🐜 Antwars 🐜 by Mibi88 2024-10-10T12:47:23Z

Interesting game! The concept of playing with ants is pretty neat. I'm not a big fan of the wall of text with a text font that was quite hard to read (maybe that's just me though for the font, I'm not fond of reading anyway). I also thought it was a little hard to understand the mechanics and the controls, and just figure out what to do... maybe the fact that I didn't read the wall of text has something to do with it haha. I did like what I saw with a lot of ants on screen though. Nice work done here gg!

La Révolution Francheese: Bonamouse by MrBananaz 2024-10-10T13:17:30Z

As a french person, I can confirm we would start a revolution just for cheese. Seriously though, the theming of the game is simply excellent! And the art, the audio... Everything is so on point. A real gem!

Among the Foliage by Zz11uKS 2024-10-10T15:53:03Z

Game looks nice and mechanic is neat. Unfortunately I completely disappeared 3 times already, and not giving a restart button is a bummer. It wasn't even clear to me why I disappeared, I wasn't even in the light. That's a shame because game has potential, but having to reload the window is a big stop for me.

Follow ME! by OldToadPower 2024-10-08T08:38:01Z

Great game! I was hoping someone would make a game where you control minions like this. I would suggest changing the controls to: WASD to move, click on screen once to start giving an order, click again to choose which order. The order buttons would appear next to the mouse after clicking. This way you can still move while giving orders AND you can pinpoints objects or enemies as targets for the minions. Overall I really liked the art and the idea so GG!

Tardigrade Travels: A Tardigrade's Terrifyingly Terrific Traversal Through Time! by Plasmak 2024-10-24T16:06:47Z

So cute!! The art + animation is an instant :star::star::star::star::star: for me, very well made, it's clear artists of this team are super talented. I also like the simple minigame-based gameplay. The hit frame + sound had me dying. Excelletn work!

Scam Ants by Rosalyn 2024-10-16T19:17:22Z

Really funny, couldn't stop laughing at the character and the animations! you got me in the humor category

Green Shell by Kekwu 2024-10-10T16:10:25Z

Cool game, concept is very nice! I think the character controller needs a bit of refinement because it feels a bit slow and unresponsive, I get that a turtle is slow but still. Other than that, graphics look good and concept has tons of potential!

Would You Still Love Me? by RachelfTech 2024-10-08T08:09:40Z

Wow, loved that game! Very, very very cute. The writing is so nice and uplifting. I also loved the tiny interactions (putting stuff inside the brain, scrolling the phone) that made the experience engaging. And visuals are fresh, too. Great one!

Escape from Wonderland by ViJeMir 2024-10-10T12:55:37Z

Nice! First of all, graphics are stunning. Now I don't know, I'm not so fan of the overall game feel though. Mainly, the platformer physics are slightly weird (ex: player getting stuck) and the combat lacks impact (suggestions: add sfx, flashing white, screen shakes, ...) It's a shame cause it's clear you got amazing talent in the team, but the power of the game is not unleashed at its true potential in my opinion--with such graphics and animations you could be a really amazing game! But still congrats cause I might be a little harsh I mean game is still really really cool you should be proud!

Anthill Defense by BroMakesGames 2024-10-08T14:19:32Z

Nice game, looks impressive! The one thing that **bugs** me (pun intented) is that when you first start the game the UI is overwhelming with tons of information, and yet I didn't know what to do: no key to press, no objective. I know it's a challenge to explain complex games to the player, but I think those complex games require some kind of in-game introduction. Also some more audio would be nice (ambiance sounds?)

So again looks like you put a ton of work into it so very good job, with some kind of tutorial I could have appreciated the depth of the game even more!

Beanel by Mithka 2024-10-14T09:53:59Z

Nice game! Liked the mechanics in place and the shooting is satisfying. Maybe lacks a bit of purpose or guidance (what should I do, who should I shoot and why, where should I go?) but a very solid entry nonetheless, had fun

Gnaw More by 1finiteloop 2024-10-10T07:44:16Z

Liked it! Concept is really really fun with the theme, easily understandable, and fun very fast. Suggestions to expand: maybe add more levels with different fruits (a banana-shaped level would be interesting!), or even an animation of a person actually crunching that apple. Nice job!

Particle Wars by NickHellquist 2024-10-10T07:53:01Z

Nice, liked it! Game loop is simple but works fine and is pretty fun, and soundtrack is neat! The one thing I would change is the contrast between the enemies and the background-- I could barely see the enemies. I'd also suggest polishing the combat, examples: add a white flash on enemies on impact, add screenshakes, more sfx, etc.

My overall experience was fun, so thanks for that, and keep it up!

The Hunt for Flippys by Ibs571 2024-10-22T16:02:59Z

Nice, simple but effective! Concept is very nice. A full and deeper gameplay loop could be nice, but this is a great start.

INCREDIBLE BRO 5 STARS

LD57 — Depths

Doors by OddballDave 2025-04-08T20:37:33Z

Very cool game, liked it a lot! I love how you where in denial with the theme and whent "nah, let me just make a game about doors". Also game was lagging a bit on my pc. Good job overall!

Frames by HolyBlackCat 2025-04-08T20:54:23Z

Super cool game! the puzzles are very interesting. Sometimes a bit hard to understand the rules of the game, like what's going on with the ordering of the frames, but discovering how it works was really part of the fun. great one!

Talkie Escape by Yvanor 2025-04-09T14:55:08Z

5K to Mars by ruthiepee 2025-04-09T19:14:58Z

Wow really cool one! I really loved the design of the character and the fact that characters have unique voice. I was schocked to see it was procedurally generated! fantastic job here

Hyperspacedive by marudziik 2025-04-10T11:20:00Z

Super cool one! Love the colors and how mesmerizing this is, super addictive! sound design is fun too, very 8-bit, love it!

Kika's Eggsplosive Descent by kazuo256 2025-04-09T18:59:21Z

Nice game, reminds me of Downwell, could work well for a mobile game!

Wicked Into The Depths by GenericToast 2025-04-09T21:32:56Z

Game looks fun, but way too hard for me! The jumps are just too precise for me, maybe the difficulty curve could start slower. keep making games!

Loot Mine by gamescodedogs 2025-04-09T20:13:42Z

Cool game, really addictive! Feels very juicy and engaging!

Treasures by mgear 2025-04-08T20:23:21Z

Cool one, liked the vibe with the sounds and pixelated look! Controls where quite tough but it was fun to learn

Hollowspire by simex 2025-04-12T18:04:02Z

Artstyle is phenomenal! I have a weird feeling tho that the artstyle doesn't complement really well with this game genre. I would have loved to get creative with this artstyle and maybe build my own structures of blocks.

It's still a very fresh artstyle for a clicker game, and the clicker mechanics with the upgrades and all were really cool too! overall great work!

Pressure of the Depths by slay a stone 2025-04-09T20:37:44Z

Interesting, the tasks remind of among us kindof. Some more polish would be nice, but some potential there!

Focus Hunt by dhim 2025-04-08T21:58:54Z

Okay, so first piece of feedback is having the "Loading" text being so small at the bottom of the page, i was confused why the game wasn't there only to find it was loading (but i understand that website presentation is no one's focus in game jams!)

The game was lagging my browser a bit and it was hard to find the items. The art was very very cool, loved it a lot. The focus mechanic is interesting and a cool take on the theme. Great stuff!

Edit: i just recalled you're the person that made the game about lilypads last LD, great to see you back with such great artstyle again!

Wrinkles by OadT 2025-04-12T18:08:23Z

The theming is so funny, love it! Suggestion: having the face of the person update during the surgery would be hilarious! I really liked the puzzles too and the level design which was very clever!

Clambell's Great Escape by botwoj 2025-04-09T21:42:32Z

I made it to the end and it was one of my fav games! It's simple but so beautifully executed. The difficulty curve was perfect to me, sure the octopus at the end was hard but it was the last level so that was fine. And the ending was so cute! Thanks for making this!

Hell R Us by CaptainDreamcast 2025-04-08T21:21:50Z

I really like the voice acting, and the overall humour. Two things to improve come to my mind: - control scheme is a little bit weird, i would replace Enter with space bar and also replace A by space bar - fighting can be cheesed quite easily by just spamming A next to the enemy

But overall i see nice work here, so keep it up!

Sighetto: Dual Descent by meskaline 2025-04-09T15:12:32Z

Cool one, love the switching world mechanic! Collisions/platforming was a bit tedious to me. But overall, like it!

The Depths of the Bag by Croped 2025-04-09T13:57:37Z

Nice one! I love the graphics and the voice acting! It was perhaps a little bit too hard/tedious (but that's ok i'm probably just bad at this haha) nice job, like it!

Fosu! by island-jam-2-group-3 2025-04-10T14:22:33Z

Fun concept! Drilled through 115 layers. I like the smooth difficulty increase. Great job!

Profundo by Marcos Tulio Cavalcante 2025-04-09T13:46:58Z

Cool game! Liked the music and overall vibe, gameplay is neat! Gameplay feels a bit slow and floaty: not necessarily a bad thing (works well with the submarine theming) but i personnally prefer faster gameplay / tighter controls. A cool entry!

Granny's Gotcha by Joscco 2025-04-12T18:06:10Z

Amazing game! artstyle is incredible and the take on the theme is hilarious. I do feel like the puzzles were a little bit easy, and wonder if the puzzle mechanics were strong enough to make many levels. Still an incredibly lovely experience!

A Memory of Her by ConradoClark 2025-04-10T08:01:49Z

Very cool game! i love the visuals and the post processing, that's really fresh to look at. Twisting the memory game into a roguelike is very interesting too, and replacing the upgrades with memories is super interesting!

Diggin' Deeper by gquibao 2025-04-09T14:48:07Z

Nice one! It's basically Minecraft, but rhythm-based, which is interesting and a unique take on the theme! i believe it has potential to be expanded, maybe could make for a nice chill mobile game, too

A long night by fabonacci 2025-04-09T19:40:15Z

Interesting game, i like the 2d lighting system. To my liking, movement is way too slow though! it's quite tedious to go to the next level. But a solid start for sure!

@brain-delay @she-wrote thanks for playing! I agree about the lack of telegraphing animation and polishing the gameplay :)

@yvanor Thanks that's some great help! I think i was able to fix it. In my specific case Thread support / SharedArrayBuffer was not required, i followed this tutorial and it worked: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbDj9V2MZvw

The Earth Treasures Show: Season 4 by Rolly 2025-04-08T22:14:42Z

Nice game! In my first playthrough i jumped in the water right away without selecting the character nor triggering the tutorial though. But overall i do like the take on the theme and gameplay, nice job!

MandelBrowse by MaximeG 2025-04-13T16:04:26Z

Interesting concept, i really like the fractal effect, but was quite laggy in my browser, also i went outside the bounds of the map (revealing the unity skybox lol) but nice job overall!

Dyamid by leorean 2025-04-17T12:52:04Z

Super cool game, loved the visuals but especially the super clever level design!

Depths of Hell by GabrielGameDev 2025-04-09T20:55:06Z

Super fun game, gameplay loop is simple and works well! music and visuals are a really great fit, too!

Siren Song of the Deep by merc37 2025-04-09T13:53:29Z

Interesting game, but it was a bit unclear what to do, but i can say the mood and atmosphere are interesting (could even become a horror game maybe!)

Dead & Buried by Frogravity 2025-04-09T07:51:23Z

Great one! Scored 51050. The humor/writing is fantastic. I really loved how each level is a little different, keeping the game fresh and interesting at all times. I'd suggest maybe having the name of the deceased always show up on the grave, not just when hovering the mouse over it (although, keep the details when hovering the mouse over cause that's cool), it would make the gameplay a bit smoother. Overall very cool entry!

Handbag Havoc by fnelix 2025-04-09T21:53:57Z

I really enjoyed this one, great concept really nicely exeecuted with great art!

If i had to criticize, maybe the controls with the two mouse buttons is a bit awkward, could be simplified to using only left click (mouse would constantly move the hand, use the left click to grab, that's all)

Great game!

Depth Rhythm by CaptAndrey 2025-04-08T22:35:56Z

Nice game! The timing was hard to get right though, i wish there was some kind of way to know the time instead of the game being "die and retry". Overall nice potential still!

Pushing Forward by KeithSwanger 2025-04-09T14:28:28Z

Cool one, like the overall idea! i think the main flaw in the design of the game is it's quite repetitive by nature, so i got bored before finishing the game. With that out of the way, i liked the mechanic of helping another hero on the minimap, as well as the platforming, sounds and visuals!

Deep Blue by poboy 2025-04-09T19:31:59Z

Super cool game! I really liked the connection with chess and deep blue. The theme of solitude is really well dealt with and the whole game + audio design is fantastic. Top notch game!

Below the Machine by HolySparks 2025-04-10T08:10:51Z

Cool game, i love the concept and the upgrades! Unfortunately the game just feels impossible to play, there are hazards everywhere, quite impossible to dodge them all. With a bit of balancing it could be really fun!

Echoes of the Deep by nyxkn 2025-04-08T21:40:36Z

Nice one! I liked the sonar effect a lot, and it was overall quite polished. Submarine was a bit hard to move around but i feel like the controls were very submarine-y so i think it was a good design decision. Nice job!

We Fall by Jawsarn 2025-04-09T21:23:21Z

Cool graphics and game feel! sad i had no one to play with but could still enjoy the cool gameplay!

Fia Fuel by Jim jagers 2025-04-08T22:41:04Z

Nice game! my biggest complain is the physics, i mean it's probably intentional but such floaty jump wasn't to my liking (but that's a matter of taste). Nice entry, i love the mechanic with the flag and the exploration!

I'm 14 and this is deep by Enad96 2025-04-10T11:31:31Z

Nice, gave me Raft vibes (which is one of my fav games!) I couldn't really find what to do though, but i did enjoy the overall game feel

Keep Hopping by Halogen 2025-04-10T14:17:04Z

Interesting and unique mechanic! It is a bit counterintuitive but once you learn how it works it's ok. I think it's a bit awkward how the blocks don't line up perfectly and how the player is one block inside the platform for some reason, and some sfx would be nice. Overall a nice entry!

Hole Punch by Michael Parrish 2025-04-12T18:02:01Z

Cool fun little game! loved the concept, very funny

Voyage au centre de la Terre by xpoho 2025-04-10T07:50:00Z

Cool game, i love the theming a lot! I'm french and it's really cool to see this book used as reference + the fact that your game is available in two languages is really cool and something we rarely see in LD!

The game itself looks interesting, although there are multiple times where it feels a bit unclear what to do. I'd suggest using space or left click instead of Z to skip dialog, that's more intuitive. Overall a nice entry!

Dark Ness by Soul Grinder 2025-04-09T20:19:55Z

Cool game! was interesting to look for the different bugs, like it!

GGRREEDD by Arsvarg 2025-04-10T08:07:18Z

Interesting game, would be even cooler if it was fully illustrated (i did use my imagination tough!), but gaemplay is already quite satisfying!

Dig and Delve by RobLaro 2025-04-10T11:26:08Z

Loved this one! Incredible visuals and satisfying mining! Feels like Minecraft combined with Link's Awakening

The Haunted Depths by ljg 2025-04-08T20:43:15Z

Nice! i must admit i did brute force through some of the answers haha. Some audio would be nice, and maybe some animation or anything to make the game a bit more "lively" and not just being text. But a very solid start!

Dive into the Hive Mind by BalimaarTheBassFish 2025-04-09T22:00:12Z

Very cool game, loved the color palette, procedural generation, and action! One tiny remark: I felt like audio spatialization (left ear/right ear) was a bit weird (if you're using AudioStreamPlayer2D, make sure the 2D source is at the correct position in the game!) Overall pretty nice job!

The Amberstone by Chuckiee 2025-04-08T21:02:38Z

Nice game, interesting stuff! My overall feel is the platforming is already a bit frustrating, but adding the dark environment + timer with the torch made it a bit tedious for me. Also, that dialog box would not go away (or maybe i couldn't find a way to make it go away). Overall a nice entry with potential!

Pogo Dwarf by NTMalichi 2025-04-12T18:00:03Z

Excellent game! movement is very fun and fresh, got me Getting over it vibes. Fun level design, too. Amazing work!

Lock Smith by Flying Butter Studio 2025-04-09T14:07:38Z

Cool game! I didn't know you could host your game directly on unity.com, that's pretty cool! I especially enjoyed the unique take on the theme and the overall execution with nice music and all :)

Edit: you managed to do Doors + Depths in one game btw haha

In the DEPTHS by Planetary 2025-04-09T18:49:01Z

Nice game, loved the procedural generation, overall game feel and pixel art!

Song of the Depths feat. Shian by rubatotree 2025-04-09T07:58:58Z

Really fantastic atmosphere! The audio was especially on another level with great sfx and incredible singing voice. It was a bit hard to understand what to do but i might just be stupid haha. Incredible entry especially for the compo!

Depths Sickness by Nilan 2025-04-16T14:29:29Z

Cool concept, loved the hex grid and procedurally generated depths!

It's a bit disorienting to have the camera rotate with the player (but i can understand it's intended) and being able to keep pressing the move key to advance would make the gameplay smoother. Also the art on the cover looks incredible and i feel like it's a shame the game itself doesn't really follow the artstyle (would love it if the in-game player sprite would be the one from the cover).

Overall a cool entry!

Wishing Evil by andruid 2025-04-13T19:15:19Z

Cool one, love the link with the theme! I did love the design of the monsters, too. I got 86 on my first try. The artstyle of the well in the menu looks stunning and i'd love to see more of it in-game too (perhaps drawing the inside of the well could be cool, although i understand that leaving the inside black is more mysterious). Great entry!

Deep Chat by iphelf 2025-04-09T19:08:08Z

That was really fun! At first i thought i was supposed to reply emojis that made sense and then i realized it was about aligning bubbles, such a creative twist!

Towards the Light by MikeMikeMakes 2025-04-09T20:10:15Z

Really cool game, love the graphics and the mechanics! Rotating the camera with mouse would be more standard. Overall a cool entry!

Toilet Diver by Makache 2025-04-09T15:09:28Z

Nice game, the theming is so funny! i like that camera effect (kindof fisheye if you see what i mean). I did drown in the toilet but i enjoyed the game!

Deep in the Folders by Playrea 2025-04-09T15:03:04Z

Nice one, i really like the theming and the puzzles! well made overall!

Dig Deeper by tomas88a 2025-04-09T13:41:31Z

Wow, really cool! the idea and theming is super neat, reminds me of paper please, beautifully executed, awesome entry!

HMS Lumos by Helagos 2025-04-08T22:27:34Z

Nice game! Love the mix of upgrade choices and going deeper and deeper. An interesting take on the submarine kindof game, nicely done!

A Well to Wonderland by Mathieu Chougui 2025-04-09T20:24:57Z

The graphics are incredible and the music slaps! The space bar mechanic to slwo down or speed up was a little bit coutnerintuitive to me, but overall gameplay was super fun!

Dark Pit by Haokai XU 1999 2025-04-08T21:30:19Z

Nice one, mechanic is really interesting. Kinda hard to play too, because obviously you can't really see the planks falling until you light them up. I do think some more polish would be nice. Also running to the right crashes the game: i know it's intended but that's still quite abrupt as i'm probably not the only one to have run right on my first playthrough. Overall nice entry!

Treats for Charybdis by fragskye 2025-04-09T14:19:04Z

Interesting game, it did lag my browser a bit so it was hard to time the qte correctly, but a solid concept!

The Trench by atsh 2025-04-08T21:14:14Z

Nice one! I really liked the overall theming and concept, with the little trivia about the depths; the sonar visual effect was really cool btw. My main complain is the gameplay is a little limited as it's mainly goiing in a straight lines (except a handful of times when you have to dodge stuff) so it's a bit boring. On the other hand it did really feel like i was going 10,000m under the sea which is cool, but i wish the journey was a little bit more interesting gameplay-wise. A solid entry overall!

DungeonDescent by thisyc 2025-04-08T21:48:27Z

Nice one! i was expecting candy crush gameplay (swap 2 to match 3), and then when i understood i need to make the conenctions, i thought it had to be in a line, only to realize you can do huge combos:

dungeondescent.png

so that definitely felt good!

So the concept is definitely interesting and new enough. I do wish the overall presentation (polish, visuals etc) was a bit cleaner, but that's still a solid entry!

DungeonDescent by thisyc 2025-04-08T22:03:26Z

@thisyc Oh well for a first Compo ever you did a really awesome job! (i kindof assumed you must be somewhat experienced as the game felt solid overall!)

Game Graveyard by AntagonistBob 2025-04-09T21:45:22Z

Cool idea, but i feel like the controls are a little awkward and the game is overall quite punishing. Keep making games tho there's potential here!

DepthBrain by GARYglhf 2025-04-09T18:55:47Z

Interesting game, kinda hard to understand what to do though, but liked the atmosphere!

Laying Pipe by C0SMIC 2025-04-09T20:33:10Z

Cool atmosphere, and i'm impressed by the overall execution and that whole settings menu! in browser, there's an issue when pressing ctrl+s because it tries to save the html page, but that's just unfortunate. Good job overall!

Egg Rescue: Detective by jetaimais 2025-04-09T21:19:49Z

I really liked the perspective mechanic! It feels very polished with the slight motion blur and the text that looks kindof 3D!

Helluva Ride by Lazar Cvetkovic 2025-04-09T20:50:00Z

Really cool game, i loved the theming, the game feel and the music!

What Happened to Pinewell? by Pixelstain 2025-04-09T21:14:50Z

I really like how the interface feels very reminiscent of windows xp! the puzzles are nice, too. For the original password i had to look into the comments here for help though x) overall cool game!

Record Depth by Indiealesha 2025-04-09T14:36:04Z

Okay, that one was on another level! I honestly hope you win the humor category cuz you truly deserve it. The fact that you repeat the joke every level makes it even more funny, this is peak comedy

Thallas by HDVR02 2025-04-09T20:44:06Z

I really like the overall mood and atmosphere and the graphics are on another level!

Cosmic Strain by Grigorii 2025-04-09T14:41:32Z

LD58 — Collector

Debt Collector by someone 2025-10-18T14:28:23Z

Cool game! Moving the camera was counterintuitive and it was a bit hard to know what to do, but nice entry!

Station 9 by quadtree 2025-10-18T18:05:47Z

Cool concept! It was a bit laggy in my browser, and i could just walk inside closets, so a bit clunky, but i liked the storytelling aspect!

Coco-llectors by tanis 2025-10-18T15:41:21Z

Cool concept, quite fun to play around! The AI was pretty fun! Some assets still looked placeholder (but hey it's a game jam) - great game overall!

Sheep Collector by hunttis 2025-10-18T14:12:42Z

Really cool concept and take on the theme! Music slapped! I like the voxel artstyle but i feel the models were quite small / camera zoomed out, so couldn't see them so much. Gameplay was fun, a little hard but fun!

Restless Souls by Swynfel 2025-10-17T09:07:40Z

Nice take on the theme! I did get confused about what to do sometimes, but overall it was manageable

Genius Gallery by Silas Reinagel 2025-10-18T15:30:23Z

Wow! The game felt very polished, with a great UX and UI, smooth UI animations. Graphics looked really cool!

thoughtscapes by gemcc 2025-10-18T14:39:47Z

Very cool concept! I loved the minimalistic artstyle! And cool take on the theme

Astrocracy by slay a stone 2025-10-07T10:43:06Z

Nice one! I liked the building mechanic and the strategic aspect. Was a bit confusing for some things, like how to use the bauxite mine (I might be blind). Great entry!

Collector by primitive-concept 2025-10-17T08:40:24Z

Really cool, and surprisingly fun. The writing of phase 1 was quite good, and the game renews itself with new phases, which is super nice. I was also engaged because I was constantly curious, wondering - how's it made? is it using a LLM to generate sentences? is there a semantic check on phase 2? etc. And I think having a part of tech mystery/not knowing how a game is programmed helps a lot getting me engaged in the game.

LudicrousOafishMagpie by hijomo 2025-10-18T18:08:52Z

I was a bit lost, but the concept of learning morse is neat!

Shore Things by Roitchie 2025-10-17T08:55:18Z

Cool & beautiful game! Kudos for making it run smoothly in browser, too!

Gimme Drive by caeonosphere 2025-10-08T11:56:55Z

Super cool game! It looks very polished and enjoyable, graphics work very well. The user experience was a little confusing in the early game, with me wondering why my car can't turn (i'd expect the car to follow the track). Or at times I was wondering what's the goal of the game, for instance on level 2 i'm told to turn, like ok, but why? It could have been clearer for the player to have a clear goal to reach, to make it obvious "ah, I should turn". Also, the victory screen is not very celebrating, leaving me in a state: "wait, did I win?". With these details out of the way, I can say it is a solid and fun puzzle game, extremely well implemented!

Nice little hidden object game! Very reminiscent of 'Cats hidden in ...', with a nice artstyle and chill music!

@pcho @duvdvan Thx for playing! I feel like the question about the link to the theme is gonna be recurring, so I might as well answer it now:

Our take on the theme: In this game, you collect cats after rescuing them, ending up with a small collections of 3 cats. The game is also a small collection of rooms. We thought the multiple dioramas gave a sense of a collection of little rooms, kind of like small toys.

We know the link with the theme is a little far-fetched. What happened is that we joined 2 game jams at once: Ludum Dare obviously, but also the [CStudio Game Jam 2025](https://itch.io/jam/game-jam-cstudio-centralesuplec-2025/rate/3620506), a small IRL jam at CentraleSupélec, Paris, with the theme *A few seconds, an eternity*.

The thing is, the theme of the CStudio Game Jam got revealed 3 hours before Ludum Dare's theme. So, we started brainstorming around *A few seconds, an eternity* first. When the theme for Ludum Dare dropped, we already had some well-established ideas, and we tried adapting our ideas a bit to fit the Ludum Dare theme as well.

So, yes: the Ludum Dare theme was more of an afterthought than the core idea of the game. We're totally okay being lower rated in the Theme category, it would only make sense compared to others who truly worked with it. We thought: hey, the link with the theme is not super strong, but the game has other qualities, and we respected Ludum Dare's rules, so we thought it was worth sharing it on Ludum Dare even if its take on the theme was a bit weak.

@nno1 @torami @jadener @eugenik @belosha @huihang @b0guslaw Thanks for your kind words and constructive criticism! Means a lot to us :)

@budaniel @outstar Thanks for playing & the bug report! We just released a tiny post-jam patch fixing the clock glitch (while keeping the original build available to download as well, of course). We were aware or this during the jam, but lacked time to fix it

Cardboard Collector by StefanHolst 2025-10-18T14:21:59Z

Nice game! Was fun to move around and explore. The jump felt disproportionate to the size of the environment and physics a bit weird, but still fun!

Piggybank goes forth by Flying Dog Fish 2025-10-18T14:32:07Z

Fun platformer! Like the sounds, very cute! Two small things I'd change: the jump felt a bit floaty / slow, and the camera rotation felt a bit off - i'd just disable camera rotation and have the camera smoothly follow the player. A fun entry, gg for making this in 48h!

Webbed Up! by Fractal 2025-10-18T15:51:33Z

Great game! I'm a big fan of the visuals and the web system, feels super intuitive and kind of magical how you made the web work & look so nice! And very fun to play :)

Nice game with cool game design, very Slay the Spire-y! I loved the color palette you used, too

I went in blind, and I was hoping the drawings were shared on the cloud (but didn't know for sure while drawing), and it was super pleasant to see my drawings were saved for others to see! I drew random stuff though haha. I also really liked the voice acting! A cool entry :)

Hatsune Miku's Super Lemon Guy by Miku 2025-10-17T08:46:36Z

Great game! I liked the retro aesthetic and the fun levels. A bit hard but not too much!

Reap What You Road by ugly_robot 2025-10-08T13:45:21Z

Really cool concept & take on the theme, one of the most unique. It's also kindof flipping the city builder concept on its head - trying to design something that's unsafe. Great stuff here!

Artifact Hunter by Jhonny111 2025-10-17T09:17:14Z

Nice gameplay loop with the combat & the upgrades!

CLEAN UP THE TOWN! by Elfb0y 2025-10-17T08:58:23Z

Nice and fun to play! The menu looks a bit rough, but gameplay was simple and effective.

Moderately Exciting Tax Collecting by HaaYaargh 2025-10-18T14:08:43Z

Funny idea! Gameplay felt a bit slow to me, turning around was a bit tedious, it was easy to get stucked, i think there could be a little less offroad / wider roads. Some sfx would be nice, too. I still liked the overall concept!

F.L.O.P by Pentaworks 2025-10-17T09:04:25Z

Nice concept and take on the theme! I think the execution is a bit rough / the user experience is a little confusing, for exemple the menu UI is a bit weird, and I got stuck in level 2. Still gg for finishing this game!

Room of Eko: serial evaluation records of □□□□ by Xlores Liang 2025-10-08T14:22:19Z

First of all, the visual experience is very puzzling and fascinating with amazing graphics. I feel like it's a shame there's no audio cause it could reinforce the vibe so much. Then, the gameplay left me very confused, with the different phases (platformer, text adventure etc). Overall an intriguing experience, graphics have ton of potential!

Biocapital by SunJet 2025-10-18T16:46:22Z

Stunning visuals! And a fun platformer, too! I discovered you can go outside the map and just walk on the ceiling x) Great game :D

Black Friday OFF 99.9999999999999% by ThatFirey 2025-10-07T10:18:28Z

Cool one! The pixel art looks very polished. I really liked the frenzy with NPCs running around everywhere. Getting kicked out of the popup to buy stuff was a little annoying. Overall nice one!

Nice game with super cool UI art! Gave me Among Us vibes

Very nice take on the theme and cool idea!

The Grande Concoction by Artificer 2025-10-08T13:49:01Z

Nice game and cool take on the theme! It's really cool you were able to make a first person game with quite a big map, all while making it run smoothly in browser.

Sewernir by plastus 2025-10-08T14:10:27Z

Nice concept and take on the theme! There's probably many ways to be creative with this system, which is cool, game might be expandable

Glitch.EXE by zelew 2025-10-08T14:04:35Z

The game looks nice, but on my end all text is in Russian, and I'm not seeing any option to switch to English (I'm probably missing something)

Collector Clash by toastercosplay 2025-10-18T15:22:57Z

Nice but i didn't play with a friend :( but still cool concept!
