A solid foundation for a 2D horror game.

I’m guessing you used sprite masks to create the field of view, which worked really well it added a lot to the atmosphere, especially when paired with the textured visuals. I liked how you went for something more stylistic instead of the typical fade-out effect; it did a lot to enhance the mood.

That said, the walk speed felt a bit too slow for the pacing. It made exploration feel sluggish, especially when running into dead ends. A slightly faster movement speed could help maintain the player’s interest.

Overall, the concept is strong, and with a bit more work, this could turn into a genuinely compelling horror game.

Mysterios things happening in the rooms. Great concept, thanks!

An interesting game, good job, at first I didn't understand what to look for and why, but in general, it's a 2D horror game

Interesting game, i like the 2d lighting system. To my liking, movement is way too slow though! it's quite tedious to go to the next level. But a solid start for sure!

The game is nice and I really agree with @life-lich that this game holds potential. I see how this could be a very cool horror game

Great work! I really love how you used layering to make the lightning effect of the torch, it would've added more tension if we could only see the enemies when lit by the tourch and not in the dark background.

A cool and atmosphere rich game! I like the idea of the light cone, but I could just swing my mouse around and kinda get the view of the level, haha :D But I painfully agree with previous posters, the movement was a bit too slow for my liking as well. I know it's within the "style" of the game, but it's a bit discouraging "investing" a long time walking down a path that doesn't progress the game.

I'll be honest I'm not quite sure what happened or what changed between the beginning or the ending.

Really cool atmosphere ! I think the levels are a little too big, but overall, i liked it !

Felt like no-ammo 2d Silent hill or Resident evil

The mood was indeed nice. Movement speed is too slow, I got bored and didn't finish it

Sleeping is important! I did like the atmospheric music and the sound overall, but would have like the opportunity to run, at least for the last level! The combination of running and faster monster chasing would have been even more fun. Also would have liked to have a moveable lightsource and "full darkness" in the unlighted parts.

Overall a solid entry!

A spooky feel to this one, I like the idea of exploring in the dark, but movement is dragging a little (as others have noted). There were moments I managed to lead the monsters away from an area, and then I'd circle them and enter the area assuming it was a way out, and it was just a dead end. That felt a little disheartening. A way to briefly sprint with say a recharging endurance bar might be nice to keep some tempo in there.

Nice art, I like the color palette used. The music fit the spooky vibe.

I really like the concept. Solid entry and good base for 2d suspense game.

I think that it could be a good idea to hiding the monsters completely when outside your fov (and with a bigger fov I guess) to let the player experience more tension from not knowing exactly where the monsters are. Walk speed is too low, it doesn't allow exploration to the player.

I liked the graphics, it fit the oneiric theme.
