LD58 — Collector

Zombody's Business by Budaniel 2025-10-17T00:15:18Z

This was really fun to play. The mix of old-school zombie shooting and the idea of collecting bodies to sell was clever and gave it a funny twist. The gameplay felt smooth and fast-paced, and I liked how the difficulty ramped up with each level. The music fit perfectly and made it even more energetic. My only feedback would be that clicking to shoot nonstop got a little tiring after a while — maybe an upgrade system or autofire option would make it even better. Overall, it’s a simple but super enjoyable jam game with a lot of charm.

Stampede Philarun by Local Minimum 2025-10-17T00:16:12Z

This was such a fun and charming entry. The rolling mechanics felt smooth once I got into it, and the voice acting added so much personality — I couldn’t help but laugh every time I heard “staaamps.” The level design was creative and the difficulty curve felt fair, with some good challenges near the end. I did think the camera could have been a bit quicker to follow the ball, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. The simple visuals and calm background made it relaxing to play, even when I messed up. Great job, this was a really memorable and polished jam game.

Rock Collector by smilewood 2025-10-17T00:17:01Z

This was a fun little idle game concept. I liked the idea of starting small by clicking rocks yourself and then expanding to workers, mines, and trains — it really captured the Collector theme well. The progression felt rewarding early on, and I enjoyed seeing the upgrades stack over time. The visuals were simple but clear, and I could easily see this being expanded into a full incremental game with some tuning. Adding sound effects and faster pacing would make it even more satisfying, but it’s already a solid foundation. Great work, especially given the time crunch.

The Grand Aquarium by binroot 2025-10-17T00:12:58Z

This was such a relaxing and creative take on the Collector theme! I really liked the mix of strategy and calm aquarium-building. the visuals and sound design fit perfectly. Catching the weird mutant fish was super satisfying, and I enjoyed experimenting with different tank sizes. It’s surprisingly polished for a jam game, and the tutorial made everything clear. Great work — I could honestly see this expanded into a full cozy game!

Recycling War by FiveCyclops 2025-10-17T00:15:37Z

This was a really fun idea for a multiplayer game. The recycling theme fits the Collector prompt in a clever way, and I liked how it could be played competitively or cooperatively. The chaos of trying to grab and sort trash made it pretty funny, especially when everything went flying after turning too fast. The physics felt a bit wild at times, but that kind of added to the charm. It definitely seems like it would shine most with two players and smoother gamepad controls. Nice concept overall, and I’d love to see it polished further.

Wind Collector by MaiMai 2025-10-17T00:16:39Z

This was such a peaceful experience. The visuals were beautiful, especially the way the grass and sky moved with the wind — it really set a calm mood. I liked how open and relaxing it felt to just build turbines at my own pace without any pressure. It reminded me of an idle sandbox where you can just zone out and enjoy the view. I think a bit of ambient sound, like wind or ocean waves, would make it even more immersive, but even without that, it already feels very meditative. Really nice work.

Piggybank goes forth by Flying Dog Fish 2025-10-17T00:14:33Z

This was a really fun and silly platformer. The sound effects made me laugh, especially when the pig shouted “Money!” The music fits the game well and gives it good energy. The camera movement made me a bit dizzy at first but I got used to it after a while. The levels got harder in a nice way and the jumping felt light and funny, which matched the piggybank theme perfectly. Great job, this was a really enjoyable jam game.

Hands Collector by Artem Fesunenko 2025-10-06T00:57:46Z

Interesting! I glitched out of the wall at first, couldn't get back inside. But then I was able to play after I restarted the game. Great take on the theme!

A Familiar Task by Codeman1010 2025-10-17T00:13:34Z

This was such a charming and cozy entry! I really liked the idea of playing as a witch’s familiar cat — it fits the Collector theme perfectly. The environments felt magical, and the music helped set the mood really well. The toad chasing mechanic added just enough tension to keep things exciting without breaking the calm atmosphere. I do wish the game window was a bit larger and that there was clearer feedback when collecting items, but overall, it was a lovely and creative experience. Great job to the whole team!

Love the art style. It makes it feel so alive!

Link fixed! @appoxgames thank you for pointing that out.

CLEAN UP THE TOWN! by Elfb0y 2025-10-06T01:33:12Z

@appoxgames - The canvas scaling was one thing that I struggled with unfortunately. It looks fine on some screens, but then it becomes off on others. Usually going full screen works but I know that's not ideal lol

@threeli - I loved those moments during development! I tried to get it to not spawn on the lake, but I ended up keeping it in (mostly because I couldn't figure out an easy way to avoid it) since it was actually fun and you'd usually be able to get it anyway. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you both for playing 😁

CLEAN UP THE TOWN! by Elfb0y 2025-10-17T00:11:39Z

Thank you @tweekus , @mahalis and @flying-dog-fish ! Glad you all enjoyed it. Was my first time actually finishing a game, and with having 3 kids at home and a full time job it was EXTREMELY difficult, but so enjoyable to see the finished product even if it was buggy.

Pumpkin Jam by SoloAdventurerGames 2025-10-06T00:12:23Z

For 2 days, great job. Controls are a little low gravity feeling but overall really nice graphics and gameplay!

Grand Trash Auto 3D by Agnira 2025-10-17T00:16:25Z

This was such a fun and creative idea. Driving around feeding trash to a monster in the back of a garbage truck is hilarious and fits the Collector theme perfectly. The art style looks great and the bright colors make the chaos feel lighthearted instead of stressful. The destruction physics and how trash affects the gameplay were really cool touches. The truck controls were a little tough to handle at times, but it still felt rewarding when everything clicked. Overall, a funny and well-made jam game with a lot of personality.

Chechik’s Grand Magical Forest Adventure by Starexplorer 2025-10-17T00:14:49Z

I really liked this idea a lot. It reminded me of those old-school text adventures but with a cozy, magical twist. The story and choices kept me curious to see what would happen next, and I liked the humor and light tone. I ran into a few repeating events, but it was still fun trying out different paths and seeing the small details change. Some music or light forest sounds would make it even more immersive, but overall it’s a charming and creative entry.

Gamedud by Prunus Padis 2025-10-06T00:54:42Z

Love the take on the theme, great GB art style :)

DiceKeeper by AQtun 2025-10-17T00:17:16Z

This was a really polished and satisfying dice game. The mix of classic Farkle mechanics with collectible dice powers worked great and gave it a cool sense of progression. The visuals were clean, the sounds fit well, and I liked how the collectible dice added new strategies to think about. It took me a bit to get used to the UI, but once I understood the flow, it became really addictive. I also appreciated the attention to detail like dice physics and how you could check combinations. Overall, a smart and fun entry — especially impressive knowing it was made in your own engine!

Crumbled Legs by oxbuddulaj 2025-10-17T00:13:18Z

This was such a unique and eerie experience! I really liked the concept of being a fragile skeleton trying to survive while everything feels slightly off. The crunchy sound effects and dark visuals worked perfectly to create a creepy, unsettling mood without needing any jump scares. The idea of collecting and reattaching bones was clever and added tension to the gameplay. I did have some trouble picking up bones and restarting after getting caught, but overall it’s a creative and atmospheric take on the Collector theme. Great work!

The Bunker by Colm Cummins 2025-10-17T00:15:57Z

This was a cool idea and fit the theme really well. I liked the atmosphere and the bunker survival concept — it made the world feel big and dangerous. The graphics looked good for a jam game, and the zombie fights were pretty satisfying once I got the hang of it. The map felt huge, maybe a little too big to navigate easily, and I wasn’t totally sure how to get back to the bunker, but the setup had a lot of potential. With a few tweaks to the controls and navigation, this could be a really solid survival game. Nice work overall.

Meticulous collector by The default team 2025-10-17T00:17:32Z

This was such a charming and well-designed puzzle game. The mechanics with the dash and magnet were simple to learn but created some really clever and challenging puzzles. I liked how some levels tricked me into thinking I needed every power-up, only to realize that skipping one was part of the solution. The art and music were super cozy, and the little character was adorable. I also agree with others that an undo or step-back button would make it even smoother to play. Overall, a relaxing but brain-twisting experience — really well done!

PAYDAY by 8TreasurePorridge 2025-10-17T00:13:48Z

This game has such a powerful and haunting atmosphere. The art style immediately pulled me in — the rough, sketchy lines and monochrome palette fit the theme perfectly and made every scene feel heavy with emotion. The sound design and pacing added to the tension, really making me think about the moral choices behind each interaction. I love how it explores the Collector theme in such a human, reflective way — turning a simple job into a story about empathy and consequence. Some parts felt a little unclear in terms of controls, but overall this was an incredibly thoughtful and beautifully crafted experience.

Death Collector by raymondz 2025-10-17T00:15:03Z

I really liked the art and story in this one. The whole idea of being an intern working for Death is really clever and funny. The atmosphere and visuals stood out a lot and made it feel polished. The controls were a bit tricky at times, especially with jumping and sliding on platforms, but the abilities like the umbrella and dash were cool once I figured them out. The dialogue and theme fit the Collector idea perfectly, and it made me want to keep going just to see what would happen next. Great work all around.
