The pig is so funne, I like their little sound when u collect a coin

orlov-nikolay 2025-10-07 09:32

It turned out great! I really liked the camera movement, music and sounds. Piggy moves funny in space. The level design is also pleasant, as is the movement through it . Thank you for that game, good luck with your next projects!!!

laurawilkinson 2025-10-07 13:34

Nice platformer, the levels and audio are really well done and it was very fun, great job!

snesgaard 2025-10-07 14:16

Fun game, wished the piggy bank would fall a little faster.

elenamisubean 2025-10-07 16:43

I think the sound and music is peak. But the camera movement made me so so dizzy

void4 2025-10-07 16:55

Nice work, there's quite a lot of content for a LD game. I think the camera angle could do with some smoothing (or possibly just keep facing the same way without rotating) since currently it is a bit jumpy and disconcerting.

flying-dog-fish 2025-10-07 17:17

@snesgaard Thanks for playing. For the piggy to fall faster, the force of gravity would have to be changed, which really is just a number I can change at will in my engine, but than jumping would become a lot harder. I think it feels just floaty enough as it is.

flying-dog-fish 2025-10-07 17:26

@void4 @elenamisubean Thanks for the feedback. I agree the camera could be smoother and turn a bit less, but it's an essential part of the game as it allows you too look way ahead and makes you feel the game world more real.

temmyt 2025-10-07 23:06

the "MONEY !" voice line caught me off guard

gamedevtraum 2025-10-08 01:52

Good work on the game! Here's some feedback based on my playthrough: -Movement feels solid horizontally – the character rotation animation when changing direction is nice, and it feels responsive. However, I felt the vertical movement was a bit too slow. Increasing gravity could make jumping feel snappier and more dynamic, though I'm not entirely sure how that would affect the overall feel. -The spike colliders felt quite tight to me – they seemed to trigger damage a bit too easily. Allowing the pig to graze the spikes slightly without taking damage might make it feel less punishing. -The life system felt pretty harsh in my experience – having to restart from level 1 after losing all hearts made me stop playing. I made it to level 4 or 5, past the big jumps section (which felt good – the windows above platforms helped with landing). Then came the spike-heavy area where you give us multiple hearts, which seemed like a good idea, but jumping over spikes placed on blocks didn't feel great, probably due to the slower vertical movement combined with the tight colliders. I lost all my hearts there, saw I had to restart everything, and decided to stop.

Some suggestions for the life system: Maybe spikes could remove one heart instead of instant-killing? Adding invincibility frames after taking damage might help with repositioning Perhaps losing all hearts could restart just the current level instead of the entire game? You could potentially start early levels with one heart (since there's less danger), then award extra hearts for collecting coins, or increase hearts as levels progress

Voice acting hillarious!

beebster-games 2025-10-08 11:01

The game is well done, don't see to many platformers in 3D. That being said, the way your camera worked made me sick to my stomach. I am sensitive to vertigo and the way the camera turned the entire background was tough on my head and stomach.

The pig is cool, the game play is cool. You did a very nice job.

nnnnneeeedddd 2025-10-08 15:37

So fun. I love 3D platformers (was thinking of doing one next actually), iconic game haha

"Money!" "Life!" "Ha. Ha!"

wouter52 2025-10-08 18:32

Money!!! haha, I liked the game. But to be honest, at first I was like "what is this camera doin'??". After a while I got used to it and it gave the game some extra pizzazz The music slaps btw, I loved it! How much time did your friend spend on creating that? For me it would have taken a whole weekend

The level transition was a bit weird though, first I thought the game was freezing. But after mashing some buttons it went to the next level :-)

flying-dog-fish 2025-10-08 20:08

@gamedevtraum Thanks for the very thorough review.

Would you believe there are no actual colliders used in the game? It's all grid-based, the character is either in the box with the spikes or it isn't. What I could do is increase the size of the spikes visually so they appear out of their box.

I think the lives system is fine, I just went a little (or a lot) overboard with the difficulty on the last (4th) level. I could either make the game less difficult or make it even harder while doing away with the life system altogether, allowing you to try each section countless times, but who would then see my beautifully modeled hearts and hear me say "Life!"

Faster vertical movement would actually make the game harder, as you would have less time to react and do the horizontal movement necessary to clear the spikes. Let's see, I set the force of gravity at 3.3, so I guess the game is happening on Mars, which allows you to make those really long jumps.

flying-dog-fish 2025-10-08 20:10

@beebster-games Thanks and sorry about the vertigo. A smoother and less pronounced camera movement is on my list for possible future improvements.

pimeko 2025-10-09 00:27

Cute little platformer :) Gave me a bit of motion sickness with the camera movement, but overall nice game!

eugenik 2025-10-09 06:02

Amazing game with cool graphics!.

flying-dog-fish 2025-10-09 15:09

@wouter52 Thanks. Friend says he spend about 3-4 hours on the music. Weird about the level transition, it's almost instantaneous for me, maybe your computer takes longer to load/create the next level.

martynas-dargis 2025-10-09 16:43

Hey! Fun game - I liked the funny voice-over sound effects. The music is also nice! Some feedback from my playthough: - It took me a three levels to figure out that the gray collectible was a save (I can't make out what the sound effect word is). Some explanation before the game would be nice - Would be cool to be able to use coins somehow. That way the game would encourage me to actually go through the trouble of taking alternate routes to collect them. For example, you could buy extra health, etc. - Sometimes I wanted to go the extra mile to collect the coins, but it was hard to know which way is the "main way" and which way is the "extra coins" way. And after picking the "main way", I didn't care enough to go through the trouble of going back to collect the extra coins. - The coin sound effect is panned to the right. A bit annoying when playing with headphones - Someone already mentioned this, but going to the first level is a pretty harsh punishment. I feel like the levels don't have much play value after the first run, so there was no motivation to go through all the levels again. Going to the start of the current level would have probably kept me trying - Really not sure how to collect the coin that was fully enclosed

emilija-marija 2025-10-09 16:46

Nice job! Your friend did great with the music and the sound effects are really fun! I liked the depth that the background brick tiles gave.

I have to agree with some of the other commenters, the camera movement gave me motion sickness too. I understand your idea about giving the world depth and looking around like that, it's pretty clever, but maybe an accessibility feature letting you switch off the camera movement and letting the player press something to look ahead instead could work?

flying-dog-fish 2025-10-09 18:14

@martynas-dargis Thanks for the deep feedback. - The gray collectible is a silver pig spiked on a flagpole and says "I'll be back" Terminator style. Sure, it's not immediately clear what it is, but once you collect it and kill yourself it becomes obvious. - Totally agreed, the coins only contribute to your final score, if you care enough about that. Coins could be used to buy extra lives, powerups, hats, anything, but that would be a bit much for a jam game. It's on the list for possible future expansions. - I hate the recent trend in games that make everything linear, exploring different routes is so much more fun to me. The idea was to make a main easier way and a couple of optional harder sidequest for extra coins, which you can freely ignore and thus select your own difficulty. Marking the main way is a good idea though. - I think you mean the jump sound effect "hop". I accidentally recorded that in stereo (with one channel missing) and was sure I fixed it, but apparently it wasn't so. - As I already wrote in another comment, I went a little overboard with the difficulty. I agree returning to the beginning of the level after losing all your lives is one way to fix that. - You simply don't pick a coin that is fully enclosed, it's just for decoration.

greedy-merchant 2025-10-09 21:23

Cute and funny! Love the camera movement. Sounds nice. Wish there was something more than a blue background

purrseus 2025-10-09 22:23

Fun little game with tight platforming challenges! I'm not a fan of the perspective personally, I think the tilting could be a little gentler. Even though I don't suffer from motion sickness, this felt a bit ctoo lose to how I imagine it

@gamedevtraum and @martynas-dargis gave really solid feedback I can wholeheartedly agree with. All points I wanted to talk about have been covered already :)

huihang 2025-10-10 16:17

Fun game, but the UI dont fit the scene well, which made it look strange. But still a good experience.

flying-dog-fish 2025-10-10 18:57

@huihang What do you mean UI doesn't fit the scene? There is no UI.

lukewaffel 2025-10-10 19:09

Fun game and nice audio! The camera is really tripping me out, though. Music is great!

patatje 2025-10-10 21:09

Made it to level 3. love the sounds the pig makes haha. i do feel like the jumps are a little floaty, but that could just be a me problem :P good stuff!

slay-a-stone 2025-10-12 08:54

I do like platformers and it started like a fun game! The camera was really nausiating so I had to stop :(

apoly 2025-10-13 19:03

Really great work, feels like a good platformer with all the obstacles and convoluted levels. The only thing that I didn't like is that I cannot jump right after I've cleared the land, which make me lose quite a bit of lives at the final (?) level.

flying-dog-fish 2025-10-13 19:41

@Apoly Thanks. I don't really understand what you're trying to say about the jumping. Can you elaborate?

stephenwhoskins 2025-10-14 02:38

How the heck does one create a 3D platformer like this in 72 hours. I really enjoyed this and I love the music as well. Good job! =)

apoly 2025-10-14 03:16

@flying-dog-fish usually there's a short time window after you've left a land (like walking to the side from the platform) in which you're allowed to jump. This time window is quite short, think 0.1s or sometimes even less, to allow the jump button press to be a bit less precise (you don't need to time it ideally to jump of the edge of the platform, so you will reach the next platform). Does this description make senses?

flying-dog-fish 2025-10-14 13:12

@apoly Oh, I get it now, a short delay to make jumping off the edge of a platform easier. That would certainly make those extra long jumps easier.

f2 2025-10-15 15:33

This was a fun game, and I managed to complete it in my first try. The audio and voice acting is top notch! :D

My only complaint was the left-right camera panning. I never feel sick from playing games, but this made me feel bad somehow. But not enough to stop playing. :grinning:

Overall, I really enjoyed the game, especially the audio, and the progressively increasing difficulty. There was a coin inside 8 wall bricks that I didn't figure out how to get.. so maybe there are also secret passages?

If you enjoy platformers, consider trying out my submission too. :)

shaggy 2025-10-15 17:41

When pigs fly!

koolruz 2025-10-15 18:27

This is a cute little game! The sound effects gave me a good laugh when I first heard them :)

I wanted to play to the end, but unfortunately I was getting some really bad motion sickness due to the camera movement - I see what you were going for with the camera, and I think the idea is really neat (you can see a lot more of what's ahead of you when the camera pans like that), but the implementation unfortunately made me feel extremely nauseous :( I think that there's potential here though, and the camera movement could be a neat feature if you had more time to iterate on the idea! If this were a fast-paced game like Sonic, giving the player that extra view of what comes ahead is a really cool idea, and I want to see where you might go with it!

flying-dog-fish 2025-10-15 20:39

@f2 Congrats on completing the game and thanks for the the review. Sorry about the motion sickness, I'll have to make the camera movement smoother and less pronounced, either in a future update to this game or in my next game.

That coin is there just for decoration and just accidentally messes with the completionist's mind, but hidden passages certainly are on the list of future engine improvements.

flying-dog-fish 2025-10-15 22:18

@koolruz Sorry about that motion sickness, I'll have to smooth and reduce the camera motion next time.

elfb0y 2025-10-17 00:14

This was a really fun and silly platformer. The sound effects made me laugh, especially when the pig shouted “Money!” The music fits the game well and gives it good energy. The camera movement made me a bit dizzy at first but I got used to it after a while. The levels got harder in a nice way and the jumping felt light and funny, which matched the piggybank theme perfectly. Great job, this was a really enjoyable jam game.

someone 2025-10-17 20:09

Love the sound effects. Solid platforming mechanics, though jumping when in a single tile high passage is funny. I tend to hold jump when jumping which made landing in those spots hard. Not a fan of the camera. It turning was ok but the way it snaps back and forth when bouncing off walls was horrible. I lost all my health at a single location: top right corner of the level that starts with the long jumps, and I don't fancy starting over from right from the first level again. The damage system is just too punishing.

flying-dog-fish 2025-10-17 20:20

@someone Yeah, camera movement needs some more work. There's a little trick in the place you mentioned.. you need to lower yourself to the spike level and then jump over them. You can see it in this part of my gameplay video: https://youtu.be/cIWMMQbRTt4?t=521 Anyway, you were not very far from the ending.

thomas-bringer 2025-10-18 14:32

Fun platformer! Like the sounds, very cute! Two small things I'd change: the jump felt a bit floaty / slow, and the camera rotation felt a bit off - i'd just disable camera rotation and have the camera smoothly follow the player. A fun entry, gg for making this in 48h!

fractal 2025-10-18 14:49

Nice game, with quite a lot of work in level design, well done! I got up to score 144 where I got stuck, I see now from your video that I was supposed to go down near the spikes and then jump. I couldn’t figure out either what the grey balls did.

flying-dog-fish 2025-10-18 18:09

@Fractal That "grey ball" is actually a pig on a flag pole and it sets your respawn point for when you kill yourself next. respawn_point.png

lereveur 2025-10-18 19:50

Arts, mood and gameplay are good, the character is very original, but I couldn't finish the second level, as the camera is moving too loosely and that made me have sortof seasickness

5h08 2025-10-21 04:42

This is so beautiful it made me tear up. 5/5

fireslash 2025-10-23 08:13

Game seems to end at the second level? Or it crashed. Not sure.

The camera movement is really hard on the eyes, but otherwise a pleasant experience. Managed to collect (all?) 20 coins for level 1 and 2 without taking damage.

Nice work!

ginger-kyoko 2025-10-23 16:58

The game is simple, but very addictive. I liked the cute pig and its voice acting. The music and the pig's movements, and probably the mechanics themselves, also create a really addictive effect. If the levels could be given more atmosphere and graphics, and the music could be even more addictive, then it would be absolutely fantastic, and we could even release it on mobile platforms. Good luck!

By the way, if you like games with a slightly quirky atmosphere, you might want to check out our game too 🥴

ophiene 2025-10-23 19:28

Amazing work! It’s super interesting and has a vert unique way to paraphrase the theme, good job! And welcome to give our game a try! :)

flying-dog-fish 2025-10-23 22:41

@fireslash Thanks. Game has 4 levels so I'm not sure what happened there.
