LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Tara by sbeif 2024-10-09T13:16:58Z

This is so fun! I loved the art and music too, you did an amazing job <3

Animal Arcade by acid 2024-10-11T17:53:15Z

This was really fun!

Tiny Tumble by Beebo Studios 2024-10-08T16:19:20Z

What a fun game! And the characters are so cute <3 My only problem was that in tutorial 3 I wasn't sure where the exit door was, since before that the game kinda made me look for blue. But overall I loved the feel, nice job!

What does Der Schatz uiuiui mean?

Don't Wake me Up by Glassar 2024-10-08T15:18:59Z

Did you make the piano background music too? It really fits with the whole theme of your game, nice job!

A Nice Picnic With Ants by LeBossMax2 2024-10-24T14:07:00Z

The music was amazing, as well as the graphics. I did get a bit dizzy from the screen shakes (which is just what happens for some people in any game, sadly), so some sort of screen shake toggle would be cool. But aside from these kinds of polishing tasks, I think this is an awesome game, well done!

Tiny nomads by Vhalenn 2024-10-08T11:07:51Z

This is such a cute, cozy game! I had the same experience running around aimlessly for awhile, clicking E anytime I could, but I didn't even mind that, since the atmosphere is so chill <3

Onion Mayhem by Spice Cabinet 2024-10-23T08:06:03Z

This is so silly and cute! Like many others have already mentioned, I loved that the music slows down as you get bigger. You also did a great job at capturing the Halloween spirit, 5 stars in mood for you  One suggestion I have is that it might've been nice to make the background a little less saturated or darker, since I was confused about which objects are part of the gameplay and which are just background decor

FlyFrog by Nicolas Diniz 2024-10-24T08:30:18Z

I really liked the controls, the double jump into hover and then just chilling on the wall. For some reason that was really satisfying for me haha. I only noticed the health bar on my second go (I also completed the game on the second go :sunglasses: ), but given the time limit you did an amazing job!

Gut Check by matt1will 2024-10-24T13:21:34Z

Screenshot 2024-10-24 at 15.18.35.png look at me go!!! I agree with one of the comments above tho - my first two runs were not fun, since I never drew the fat bacteria and was left watching my arteries clog up  With some more polish to the gameplay this could be even more addicting!

The Red Beetle Squad by Vidu 2024-10-21T17:07:23Z

This is such a fun game, how you managed to come up with this in a weekend is beyond me. Such a cool idea. I love it! Not to mention the cute art style and music <3 I also liked the little texts beneath each character's names and just the attention to detail in general.

Screenshot_2024-10-21_19-02-05.png

P.S. Campfire is now on my steam wishlist

My Little Friends by Turaku 2024-10-24T08:42:33Z

I see how with a little bit more polish this game could be a really addicting one! For now I did have a bit of fun, got to six little fellas  I really liked the art, a pretty and consistent color palette, sound effects fit the vibe. Good job!

Pseudopseudopodia, or amoeba walking simulator by TheLastSlowpoke 2024-10-24T09:11:08Z

I ate the other amoeba

GLOW by Fenix131113 2024-10-08T15:43:42Z

This is beautiful! It took me awhile to understand the mechanics with light, but that's not necessarily a bad thing ^^

Ants! by Emilija Marija 2024-10-08T11:35:16Z

@rhysss @gaudy @smothbreen Thank you so much for pointing out the issue <3 We only tested it on Firefox, and it seems that it didn't work on other browsers, but we've fixed it now!

Ants! by Emilija Marija 2024-10-21T15:08:55Z

@tomssuli Thanks for letting us know about the bug <3 For now let's just say the ants froze in place out of fear for the anteater!

Tiny Spider's Adventure!!! by Rhysss 2024-10-08T10:51:49Z

This is so cute! Good game, fun to play <3 Loved the intro too. Sadly at one point I went out of bounds and had no way to get back to the platforms :/

Tiny Spider's Adventure!!! by Rhysss 2024-10-08T11:10:59Z

@rhysss I'm not even sad, that is the cutest dead spider I've seen lol

The Pilgrim by Wenyu Bao 2024-10-25T15:16:38Z

Beautiful game  I am a little confused about the controls, maybe it's just my problem playing on a laptop with no mouse haha, but I don't understand the directions to double jump in the second level. Other than that I really like it, it's so chill and cozy!

Butter`scape by Kurosawa Aoi 2024-10-25T09:33:56Z

Really fun game, so many unique mechanics - loved it

lets get small by JackIreland 2024-10-25T20:35:33Z

This is a really cool concept  I would love to see it fleshed out, maybe some enemies that you can only bypass when small and some that you could crush being bigger, etc.

Squeak-Squeak by SioSti 2024-10-25T19:11:05Z

The mouse is so cute! Well done on the art and level design. My only feedback is that I kept clicking the space bar and didn't understand why my jumps were so low at first haha. Some sort of indication to hold alongside the existent control explanations would be nice. Awesome work!

BIGDIG by Willops 2025-10-08T18:58:59Z

Amazing game, I loved the quirky graphics and the digging was quite satisfying. I did find a possible bug, where when I was using a hammer with turbo impact and a prospick with treasure hunter it wouldn't let me swing even once during a screen with the hammer, if I had equipped the prospick when entering the screen. Also, I think the cost of upgrades could be tweaked, since I got to max out everything in a few turns. But other than that the game is very nice!

Shore Things by Roitchie 2025-10-07T18:57:28Z

I love how many little details there are, like the graffiti and tag behind the board. But also I took a couple of minutes to just stand under the beach umbrella and look out into the ocean, cuz this game is soooo chill! Wouldn't a metal detector beep next to a metal fence?

Piggybank goes forth by Flying Dog Fish 2025-10-09T16:46:39Z

Nice job! Your friend did great with the music and the sound effects are really fun! I liked the depth that the background brick tiles gave.

I have to agree with some of the other commenters, the camera movement gave me motion sickness too. I understand your idea about giving the world depth and looking around like that, it's pretty clever, but maybe an accessibility feature letting you switch off the camera movement and letting the player press something to look ahead instead could work?

The Crab's Kingdom by Carbs 2025-10-06T22:10:21Z

It took me a moment to understand that I could only grab items when they're directly under one of my claws haha. But when I got that it was pretty fun, good job!

The Forgetful Dragon by CataclysmicKnight 2025-10-09T19:55:06Z

Nice job! I don't play much of these kinds of games, but your instructions were really easy to follow and got me to try it out! So here I am, and hour later with my hoard of "valuables". A lot of the prompts were really creative and when I got the longer ones I got really excited! The idea really fits the theme too!

It really sucks getting sick, that's also why me and my partner missed the last jam, so I get it... I hope you both feel better soon <3!

WebWeaver by JPGFG 2025-10-06T22:00:30Z

The music when flies are released made me laugh:D I think the sound choices here overall are pretty good at setting the mood. Might be that I'm a little too tired, but I had trouble building good enough webs after about five levels. But it was fun! Thanks for this game!

My Little Castle by WouterK12 2025-10-08T19:13:03Z

Very cozy game, I liked the graphics and the audio you chose:)

A Stamp-Stealer Postman by Pimeko 2025-10-07T19:43:05Z

It was so satisfying to follow the stories and then get the related stamps. And the atmosphere in general was calm and relaxing. I didn't manage to get the last festival stamp though, I probably missed something:(

Arena of Battleships by Planetary 2025-10-08T20:10:41Z

Really fun game, I was also a bit confused on what to do at first, as I thought I'd get to build my ship after I press play, but other that that it was really fun. Since it's quite addicting as is, I think if it was a bit more polished I'd play hours and hours figuring out the strategy!

Prairie Dog Music Collector by runningopenloop 2025-10-08T14:21:48Z

Yappee! I loved the sound effects, you are a creative bunch! On my first run I did glitch out through the floor and fall indefinitely, I might have jumped from the top of a hill and fallen to fast. But second time around I managed to finish the game and witness the amazing Christmas dance <3 I clicked on your game, because we also decided to do a game about collecting notes, maybe you'll be interested to check it out :) Again, good job, thank you for making this!

A Lifelong Hobby by Derek Glennon 2025-10-08T14:40:59Z

This was cute, sad and hilarious at the same time

Pigeon Post Office by Pigeonescu 2025-10-07T18:01:38Z

The art is so beautiful. And the whole game is so pretty and charming - I would love to play it more if you continue development! I think some sound effects would be cool, imagine little pigeon coos when you pick up letters:) The music was pretty good as well :bird:

Oscar the Trash Panda by Radjax 2025-10-08T10:11:24Z

I loved the graphics and sfx, really chill atmosphere! I just felt like there was no reason for me to go to the other side of the road, maybe the trash there could give you more points or something like that. But I still had fun regardless, thank you for making this game!

Arpeggio by Emilija Marija 2025-10-06T22:15:15Z

@jiffy Glad you enjoyed! If you're talking about the falling stones, you need to have the dash unlocked, but even then we did get frustrated a couple of times playtesting haha

Arpeggio by Emilija Marija 2025-10-07T08:25:02Z

@JPGFG Thanks for playing our game! Sorry it wasn't clear: after getting the high jump you should jump back down and then can choose three different paths (there are two pathways on both sides and a hole down on the left). I think we should try working more on the scale of the levels to make it clearer next time. Thanks!

Arpeggio by Emilija Marija 2025-10-08T09:54:57Z

@binarydiv Thank you so much for such an in-depth review! We definitely would've loved to polish the game more - the character you meet is supposed to be the end, sort of an invitation to imagine a continuation of the game where you enter a different biome and help this character collect **her** notes, maybe with new abilities, but I didn't do a great job translating that... We will definitely keep your comment about this and the movement / platforms in mind when making other games!

Arpeggio by Emilija Marija 2025-10-08T09:57:12Z

@ludumdaredevil there is a "door" - a darker wall - on the left side. Maybe I should've done a better job making it more distinct. Thank you for trying out the game and bringing this to my attention!

Arpeggio by Emilija Marija 2025-10-08T09:59:30Z

@caominh-le Yes, the character is supposed to be the end, sorry I didn't make that clear enough. And thank you for bringing the bug to our attention!

Arpeggio by Emilija Marija 2025-10-09T15:20:26Z

@annabondar Thanks for playing, I'm really glad you liked it! The person asking for help is supposed to be the end, I didn't do the greatest job at picking a dialogue that would communicate that well. And after that we just wanted to leave the player in the world if they wanted to go back and explore, do something they didn't get to. As for the main character, I based his design on the treble clef. I'm really happy you liked him, because I kept doubting if the design made any sense haha

Arpeggio by Emilija Marija 2025-10-11T06:21:02Z

@aurora-bee Yes! When you pick up a note the corresponding abilities' sound effects are in that note! And even the dialogue in the very beginning is in C, since that person gives you the C note. I'm glad you noticed:)

Thanks for the feedback, we really want to work on making platformers since we can't get the scale of the levels and movement right, so it really helps!

The Witch Chef by dumchevdev 2025-10-13T13:47:48Z

Screenshot_2025-10-13_15-43-50.png

I dragged the skull all the way to the bottom of the cauldron and it got stuck...

I liked the vibe. The art and music is amazing and everything really fits together well. Cozy and spooky is the best<3

DRUNK HUNT by Jacky San 2025-10-07T18:44:44Z

I loved the music. Quack quack quack quack quack. As others said - very well polished, you did a great job!

Crown Crow by ThDudk 2025-10-07T11:57:35Z

I got the shiny!! This is a really pretty game and quite fun too! I was confused about the +1 health from inventory at first, as I thought I found some special item that gives me health and was sad when I thought I accidentally sold it haha. Are you thinking of developing the game further? I think with some more polish this could be something I'd spend hours playing:)

COLLECOON by HANASAKI 2025-10-08T14:10:16Z

Nice idea! Took me a while to understand that I don't need to look for a chicken specifically and that the way to escape is to fill the bar with items haha. I restarted like six times before I got it. Other than that - the graphics and sound design are great!

Cat & Swords by MrMastin 2025-10-08T14:29:50Z

I was thinking "I'm too OP, nothing's damaging me", until the other cat came in haha

Raccoon Captain: Cosmic Feast by Ruolin Zhao 2025-10-09T17:36:44Z

I really loved the art and the music! The color choices are amazing, really gives that alien vibe, they're also very fun and pleasing in general. I also like the clever food names!

I'm a little confused about the end - did the food make me understand them? Or just that I was hanging around so long that now I know them and I'm a horrible thief? :( Also, I don't understand where the encyclopedia is. I see you have controls for it, but I don't get where to use them, sorry.

Potion Mania by basmet 2025-10-07T15:49:16Z

I put all those different potions in the rainbow potion cauldron and right before it was finished I got killed. I hate this game. But it was actually addicting, thank you for making it <3

SKYHAND by GlassMoonGames 2025-10-09T17:46:26Z

I love this game. The ability to just lurk near "shelter access" is hilarious. Actually amazing what you accomplished while also working, great job!

Dragons Hoard by Luna-Smol 2025-10-07T18:35:16Z

The art, music and sound effects all work so well together and create this amazing adventurous vibe! Really enjoyed playing this<3

C-C-Collector by Discomorphine 2025-10-07T16:00:21Z

The teeth having different abilities is sending me haha. I loved so much about this game: the second frame explaining the mechanics of debt was hilarious, the gorgeous alligator sprite on the bottom left and the puzzles themselves of course. I think they're pretty clever for having been made in 72 hours. Great job!
