Nice game! Took me while to understand the mechanics and I was confused by the first game (seems to auto win without doing anything?). I was going to try out a few games but found myself stuck as soon as I got the hang of it and spent all the time allocated playing this single game :D Great job!
@mackain , @jonasolsson thanks for playing. The game was rushed; when the ship doesn't have any weapons left it's automatically destroyed. That was the case for the first level. I'll write a help section here in a few moments.
That seems to be quite complex. I like the flexibility you have to build the ships. Also there a quite a few levels and I think the style is nice. Nevertheless I have the feeling that the battle depends quite a bit on luck? Which I am personally not quite a fan off.
Nice concept. Could use a tutorial, and the difficulty curve seems a bit weird. I like the depth :)
@stratcat66 , first of all, thanks for playing!
About the luck: there are some modules that depends on luck, especially for weapons. Not because I can't calculate the trajectory of a projectile, but because it adds a bit of randomness (at least I like this kind of games that strategy blends with a little bit of luck). And the enemy have some randomness, but it's more advanced than a simple luck. But it's totally understandable that you don't like the luck.
And the levels were made in 30 minutes, so I could add more than that!
@grummelchen , thank you for playing, I appreciate that!
Can you describe the "difficulty curve"? The enemy is harder in mid-levels and easier in the final levels?
And the tutorial was planned, but I realized that I have 1 hour left and the levels weren't created yet!
Really fun game, I was also a bit confused on what to do at first, as I thought I'd get to build my ship after I press play, but other that that it was really fun. Since it's quite addicting as is, I think if it was a bit more polished I'd play hours and hours figuring out the strategy!
This is awesome, impressive that you pulled it off in 72 hours! Would be nice to have some tooltips in the hangar screen explaining what each part does. Also maybe it's just me, but I feel like this game would work even better if it was turn-based - you could even have different actions, like shoot mortar/etc - would bring in a whole new dimension of strategy.
Very cool entry, never thought that I'd like blowing up other ships but as it turns out, it's fantastic :D. Very cool aesthetics as well, sounds fit really nicely and the content you managed to create in the short time frame of a jam is astonishing. Very well done! :)
Great game, i really enjoyed playing it and blowing up other ships. The building system is intuitive. SFX are nice. I'd say it lack a bit of in-game help such a tooltip to explain the parts or what the different stat icons are. Other that, great job for being able to implement all of the game content in 3 days
Really like building my own ship and upgrading things in the heat of battle! It would be great to more easily see my opponents ship. Zooming out and panning over is a bit tedious and I want to see the impact of my weapons.
Fantastic game, it would be nice to see some stats or tooltips in the hanger. I had a ton of fun playing it
As an auto-battler lover, this is a great game. It is pretty satisfying to build a strong ship and completely overwhelm the enemy.
That was a really fun game. Though i didn't really change my ship after level 8 or so because the strategy became unbeatable. I first maximize collection rate with six collectors behind a wall of armor, then spam as much missiles as possible. That did overwhelm each enemy ship because they go for shields quite early and don't attack for some time.
I the game idea is great. I have no idea how well the weapon systems are balanced but it felt pretty good. I just exploited the ai a bit. It might be fun vs other human players. It wouldn't even have to be real time. I follow a game on itch called [fool king](https://lootdonkey.itch.io/fool-king), which uses a really clever system for a sort of "faux-multiplayer" that could work great for your game. You progress battle for battle and fight the loadouts of other players at this point. I can see this work great with the battleship theme. And a big plus would be that you could watch the whole battle play out without stress in clicking upgrades all the time.
The setting directly caught me and I had quite some fun with the game. The graphics had some bridge builder vibes :smirk: I think the GUI should be improved, especially during combat, the upgrade menu often was over the enemy and I had to scroll. It is always quite tricky to select the cannons when zoomed out. Tooltips in the hangar would be also nice. However, the music is nice and I love the destruction animations etc. Overall, I might play some more round when I have time (lost in level 4 first time). I think this can be a good basis for a larger game.
nice idea! I like the simple color designs of the ships, pretty satisfying!
Is 150% and aggressive ok for the final ship challenge?
Recording of me playing very poorly included.

As far as feedback, this has been my favorite game of the jam so far, though tool tips explaining (or at least naming) the modules in the hangar would have been wonderful.
[Edit: was also able to clear 200% difficulty, but 250% eluded me.]
Wow, this is like full blown rts/tower defence with build orders and difficult tactics. Very nice!
I liked the graphics and the lots of different modules. Music was ok if a bit repetitive. I spent more time with this than I should have. Died every time to the first missile boat, once almost tiegame as both were sinking. The difficulty ramps up pretty quickly for how many levels there actually are, that could maybe be less steep.
Great intense mood too. This is the kind of game I come to gamejams for ๐
Super combat game! I love the way you prepare in advance and then upgrade, but I clearly missed one thing: the difficulty on the main screen is set to maximum by default (the enemy's defense is very high by the third level, and at the same time I wasn't well prepared to deal with itโI almost went down with it), great job!
This is too addicting. Amazing work!
Great work!!!
