Congrats on your first game jam! The concept of leading a tiny ant army sounds like a blast.
I would really like to play your game, but it doesn't open, you can download the game here https://itch.io/
look on the embedding guide to fix the issue the guy mentioned above I get the same error
This link works 4 me: emilijamarija.github.io/ants
very cute graphic and relaxing game, I like the style
The game concept is very cool
Really well made for your first game jam.
I really enjoyed this, the music is simple but very effective and catchy (smart to focus on a short loop that works multiple times and doesn't get annoying). The graphics are simple but effective and the gameplay was surprisingly fun.
And I loved finding the ant poison easter egg.
For anyone having troubble running the game trye the github pages link, that worked for me
Lovely game, great job! It's a lot of fun to walk around with the swarm of ants and then trying to avoid the inevitable anteater that threaten my little fellows.
Btw, since others seem to have problem ,I was able to play it here on ldjam.com without problems (using Firefox)
@rhysss @gaudy @smothbreen Thank you so much for pointing out the issue <3 We only tested it on Firefox, and it seems that it didn't work on other browsers, but we've fixed it now!
Cool mechanic for the view to grow larger when you get more ants, BUT then it also increases risk when going around corners or encountering enemies. The difficulty balance felt good. I like the anteaters too, fun idea!
ANTS!!!!
Very cool! What a fun, cute game. I actually loved the little strategy of staying fast, but in a vulnerable straight line, or spiraling around to make an easier-to-manage cluster. Also, the moment where you zoom out to walk on the grass is very cool. Reminded me of katamari - great work!
The last ant standing being killed causes it to shrink. By design??? I played to long... Music doesn't change up enough if you play to long but not enough of an annoyance to get me to stop playing.
Wow, I played this way longer than I expected. This is a very cool game! Although the main concept is simple, I found the way it is set up very impressive: the way the play area opens up seamlessly, with the camera pulling back, thus making the enemy seem like they only appear later in the game... It makes you want to explore, which makes finding new objects exciting (the box of ant repellent at the end of the line is a nice touch).
Also, the bit of vocals at the end of the music was very cute, and actually made me chuckle. Really nice!
Just fine an relaxing game, good
Oh my god i lost the link of the game so i ddnt give my feedback ! T.T So: I love this game i had a really good time with it the tatoo was sooo funny with the sfx and anims XD ! I love the music and the sing at the end of the track... amasing haha. the game is simple but fun the controlds feel intuitive and i ddnt spot any bug. the only downsides that i can give to your games are graphics and the inovation of the game. i still love the game grat job buddies ! (Sry for my english tho)
Nice intro and sound design. I have gathered an army!
I really liked the graphics and avoiding the anteaters and leading around the ants is an interesting take on the theme. When you have one ant left and it gets eaten it seems to just shrink to a few pixels. Because they just follow the mouse and don't try to stay in a swarm it looks a bit odd when the get cut into 2 groups when running against a corner, but this generally isn't a problem.
Audio was incredible, especially when the vocals came in (I got it at the end of the game, not sure if it's just a timing thing or it happens when you get the 'thanks for playing' message.
Very simple in general, but I liked the change of environment and enemy obstacles to keep it feeling fresh as you expand the pack of ants. Was short enough that it didn't outstay it's welcome and had a really clear loop, at no point was I confused as to what to do.
Awesome for a first jam! Thanks for sharing.
Nice flock mechanics, cute and peaceful game, loved creating my ant colony :)
I really appreciate the game’s thoughtful theme and how its aesthetics amplify the atmosphere. God Job!
Their name is their doom: anteaters are forever the fear of all ants. Imagine that, a creature called "human-eaters"; that would be the scariest thing ever!! Anyway, I digress. I like how the game makes you feel like an ant. We walk around, find food, and try to avoid problems while returning to the nest. The realism of the ant’s art also adds to the feeling. Growing your army of ants is cathartic. It would be awesome if when the group gets big enough, we could kill the anteater and bring it back to the nest lol! The use of ant poison as a wall is clever, and the music is beyond awesome! Great entry! Well done!
Fun game, I liked the music and the small details. The zooming out camera was a great idea :)
I got stuck when continuing after the end credits. For some reason couple of ants got stuck in place and would't move so the camera wouldn't get very far from them.

Woo! 1000 points on the first try! The audio loop was amazing!
@tomssuli Thanks for letting us know about the bug <3 For now let's just say the ants froze in place out of fear for the anteater!
Small, but tightly designed. I really enjoyed this one. The zoom-out mechanic as you add ants was genius, the rewarding sound as they enter the nest one by one was pure dopamine, and the ant-eaters felt appropriately punishing without being unfair. The audio was nice.
The game is good, I like that the camera moves away more and more as it builds up the flock, but I caught a bug in which some of the ants, after they approached the anthill, just stand next to them and lose control over them.
It's a simple but surprisingly fun game! Congratulations! If you have any ideas for developing this game further, please do — it would be a waste to abandon it.
