Solid entry, reminded me a little of the old Sonic special stages. Fun and great controls, visuals were quite simple, but they worked well.

Solid entry, reminded me a little of the old Sonic special stages. Fun and great controls, visuals were quite simple, but they worked well.
@frittatenbank Thank you! We hit a lot of issues and weren't able to take the game as far as we would have liked, so we just tried to polish what we had. We didn't sleep much over the weekend :P
Good feel with the bazooka with the VFX and audio, it took me a while to realise the bunnies were you health. I liked the whole bullets fire round the planet, might have been nice to play with that mechanic more. Good entry.
The controls were a little awkward at times and lead to a bit of frustation. However, that aside it was a fantastic game. Graphics were one of the best I've seen and the puzzles were well thought out. Really liked this entry.
Pretty fun game, although I never really seemed to get any good use out of the interceptors. Moving around and firing barrages of missiles kept me entertained right up until the end,
Fantastic entry, could easily be fleshed out into a full game. Reminded me of a more grusome Overcooked single player.
I found myself bouncing around the level more than I would have liked, the background graphics were quite nice.
Not sure what I just played. But I loved it,
Good choice of music and cute pixel art but I found it very difficult to control. Then again I was controlling a wasp so...
It took a few games for me to really understand what was going on, a simple tutorial or having games of increasing difficult to scale the complexity over time would have been nice. It also wasn't super clear exactly what all the different costs are for, you could try using different geometric shapes as well as colour to help identify different things. The game it's self was actually quite fun once I got into it, although I didn't manage to win in the end.
Looked really nice, animations were very simple, but the overall art style worked well together. Mechanics closely tied in to the theme, it would have been nice to see different variations of the death mechanic working into different elements for the puzzles (maybe using a corpse to block a door for example). I did end up getting stuck on a level when I covered a wall in corpses and wasn't able to jump up it anymore. Solid entry.
I liked this, it was a fun idea and played well with the theme, however one major thing that I couldn't seem to work out was, once I select a hero there is no way to deselect them? More than once I clicked the wrong character only to now be locked into using them, which was a bit frustrating. I think it's awesome you got so many characters in the game, but I feel you could have probably done more with less. Shrinking the party size down to 3 or 4 would have allowed you more time to make the characters feel more unique.
Overall it's an impressive amount of work for such a short amount of time, solid entry!
As other people have said, a graphical version of a space ship or a passing starfield would have gone a long way in the game. The mechanics were simple enough, some more randomness or events happening would have spiced up gameplay a lot, or having shops an area you have to reach rather than always being avaliable would have allowed more strategic choices.
Overall, it was enjoyable, if a little simple.
Unfortunately I had to play this solo as I had no one else to play with, however I loved the rythm style combat and trying out the different choices was fun and interesting. It would have been nice to have an AI mode, but I realise time is tight with these events. Good entry!
Fun references, good concept and well executed! Was cool to try and work out the best way to get through each level without sacrificing the characters I wanted to keep.
This game made me question the futility of life. Interesting game, reminded me of black and white.
It's a nice idea, but the lack of different options meant I always felt that I was doing 2 or 3 things and waiting for time to run out, rather than making an important decision. I'm not sure how the branching paths work, but having a more singular path with alternative endings would have probably allowed you more time to be more in depth with the choices, rather than spending time on alternative secondary stages to the game.
It's a little slow, but shows promise. I did enjoy playing it, even if I felt it was sluggish in places.
Good use of theme, cute character and fun gameplay, would like to see this developed further. Could be cool to find new items to sacrifice in later rounds,
The pick up was a little difficult and not responsive at times, howerver I thought the graphics were great. THe run anmation looked solid as well. Pity it ended so suddenly.
Really enjoyed this, the design of all the creatures was fantastic, the atmosphere was creepy, just a great experience overall. Could easily see this expanded into a bigger game.
Wonderful atmosphere, though the audiable loop in the water sound at the begining was quite jaring I did enjoy the experience. Very cinematic. Great work!
Dude, I love the whole vibe you got going on here. Also, hope life is treating you well!
We also did a card game!
I enjoyed this a lot, does it have a final boss? I played for quite a while before I eventually quit. I loved how strong I ended up feeling after a few upgrades. Could easily see this being turned into a full game. The sound effecs cracked me up. Very impressive for a solo submission.
I wont lie, I went into this game thinking it might be enjoyable. I did not expect getting addicted to it! Really interesting concept, my only major piece of feedback is that the menu on the right could have been larger and clearer (possibly along the top of the screen vertically).
I could see this working with a variety of different visual themes if you ever were to expand it. Great game.
Amazing atmosphere. All the lighting and VFX set a fantastic tone, also it had a really nice color palette. I'm just really impressed by how much I was into the overall tone. Gameplay was tight, obviously it would be nice to have additional spells or items, but it's a gamejam! Enjoyed playing through it.
Very impressive for a solo entry.
Interesting experience, I enjoyed how the world changed as the player character progresses, both through the world and emotionally. Has a great vibe and feel to it, I especially enjoyed the walking on a globe effect. Great entry.
Incredible entry. Great feel, made me want to sit and play more and more. Could easily be a full game.
Firstly I just wanna say, I wanted more. This was such a tight little loop (no pun intended) and the gameplay felt great and satisfying. I did reach a bug at one point using the bard and the shaman where the game just hung, but that sort of stuff happens in jams so I don't really mind too much.
Overall really solid and unique entry. Good job
Fun little game, I see a lot of potential with upgrades and different carriages on the train. I felt I moved a little slow, but apart from that, it felt tight and fun. Good job
The game really starts to get hard once the jump mechanics kick in. Cool concept. I really like the fact that you can see the loops ahead of you so you can sort of plan your next move. The fact that it only drops you one level when you lose means it doesn't feel too punishing either. I feel some of the center enemies could have some better markings of the direction they are going to shot before they fire, but other than that, good game!
Played great, really tight controls. Unique spin on a tried and tested platform mechanic. I enjoyed the visuals and the overall mood of the game. Could easily see this as a full game because the first few levels are so strong. Sorry I was so bad at it on stream.
Really nice entry. I felt like I wanted more because the base was so tight. Amazing visuals and sense of scale. Could easily see this adapted into a full game.
Incredible atmosphere, great storyline and overall really fun. Impressive it was made with such a big team without production issues. Felt like the start of a real game, rather than a ludum dare.
Really unique concept. I feel like I could sit down and play this and discover new things to do for ages. It's cool seeing the artwork others have made for it. If I remember I'll come back and toy with it more.
Awesome game, I can't believe you put three games in one, and I'm a big fan of the fact the menu is also stuck in a loop. Great submission
Great and fun little game, was cool to play it on stream. I enjoyed it and I could totally see this being developed into a full game on mobile.
I really enjoyed this, had a great feel with a lot of polish. Would have loved to play more, my only criticsm is that the sword felt a tad awakard. Apart from that, one of the better entries I've seen.
Impressive you got through a game with such a large team, the mechanics where tight, even if they did get a little repetitive. I would have liked see more progression toward the end. However, it was fun to play and I hope you guys continue to make gamejams, I look forward to your next one.
This hurt my brain. I really enjoyed playing and I would happily play it more if I wasn't embarressing myself on stream. Impressive design for such a short amount of time.
@jitspoe thanks for the in-depth review! There is one part in the game in particularly that I cringe when people get stuck on. Although I'm pretty happy with the level design, it does suffer a bit from, 'madly rushing to get the game finished' syndrome in places. It's funny you should mention things like the 'keep wall running even when not pressing forward' mechanic. We had a lot of discussion around controls and honestly felt like a lot of it came down to personal preference from user to user. So we just did what we felt was 'right'.
Great to get so much feedback! Glad you enjoyed it :)
It's a really unique idea! I enjoyed the game loop and the art style worked well too. My major issue was the camera snapped quite hard back and forth when I left the ship, sometimes it was a little disorientating. Would work well as a full product. Has lots of potential!!
THe swap to underwater was really well done and a nice change of pace. However the area with the countdown was really long and not very fun. I feel like you should have given the shotgun an AOE or something to make it feel different and useful in that section. The audio and the mood of the game was great, felt like playing an old school FPS. Good entry!
I really like the world you've created here and it was super enjoyable to run around and explore. However i did have a few issuse while I was playing. The biggest one was the lag I got in the hall with the dead king guy. It looked to be caused by the multiple VFX all on top of each other. The movement was ok, but there are improvements that could be made with it, you slide a little bit instead of coming to a stop and the collision was a little dodgy in places. However I think the voice overwork and the art was nice and added a lot. Solid entry!
@hopem Thank you for the detailed feedback! It's always massively appreciated when someone comes back with a big well thought out reply.
I agree with pretty much all your comments, it mostly came down to running out of time to finish the jam. I ended up being quite ill over the weekend, so I didn't do the crazy number of hours I normally do for a gamejam haha. I do wish we got a bit more progression to it as it has a nice feel but does get samey really fast.
Glad you enjoyed it, it was a blast to make.
Really nice twist on the classic 'snake' gameplay. The 3D aspect adds a whole new dimension (lol) to the style of game.
It would have been nice to have a prompt to rotate the camera on the second level, I didn't realise that was a mechanic and failed numerous times. However, I really liked that you paced the game (not requiring the camera turning on level one to ease the player in). Maybe some boundary type thing to show where the edge of the cube was, it wasn't a huge deal but once I thought I could wrap around the edge of a building, but it wasn't possible because it was the edge of the level.
Sounds were great, little bit of VO made all the difference. It got annoying after like level 4, but it's a gamejam so I can't really complain. I think it's better that you had something in and occasionally it made me chuckle. "Why do humans live so close together" or something along those lines.
Graphics were simple but effective, it felt nice and polished and interactions had a nice reaction to them. Maybe some animation as the head moved to a new square and the body moved along too? But that's just nickpicky polish improvements.
Nice little game, enjoyed playing it, felt very zen.
The artstyle (particularly on the backgrounds) was amazing, however the gameplay didn't quite match up.
When I entered each room it often took me a second or two to figure out where I was on the screen and by that time, an enemy had hit me. You should allow a safe zone to start out and get used to the mechanics earlier out. This could be as simple as just a small area with no enemies and a few jumps. Unless I'm mistaken, once you die in any of the areas, you can't return? I died instantly in two of them and barely got to experience the cool environment :(
I like the concept of the building mechanic, but for me nothing would snap into place properly and I ended up getting soft-locked trying to place pieces.
Interesting concept, great environments, but the gameplay loop was a bit buggy and brutal. Nice game, thanks for sharing!
Nice idea and clean implementation, but I think there are a few things you could have improved.
The jump was very floaty (I get that you used the floaty-ness as a way to solve a puzzle in level 3), it might be a good idea to look at having a 2 height jump, (small jump on quick press and long jump on long press) as well as tweaking with gravity to make the character feel more responsive. Most platformers don't use 'accurate' gravity as it feels too slow.
The death screen would have been nice as the dying and restarting was very abrupt. Just a black screen with some text saying why you died and a 'press any button to restart' prompt. I didn't realise the spacebar mechanic was a thing for the first two puzzles and when it did run out, I thought I'd bugged the game out. Some messaging when you run out of spacebars would have been great (just flash it on the screen or highlight it in red, it's important).
Overall, it did what it needed to do, it was nice and simple and had a clear gameplay flow, I enjoyed playing it. Nice entry!
Very nice, cute and clear style. The voice "Can I play too" freaked me out when I heard it at first hahaha. Mechanics work nicely together, although I did find when I had to split into multiple creatures, it got very awkward. Perhaps I was just doing it incorrectly?
Was fun to play, strong entry!
Audio was incredible, especially when the vocals came in (I got it at the end of the game, not sure if it's just a timing thing or it happens when you get the 'thanks for playing' message.
Very simple in general, but I liked the change of environment and enemy obstacles to keep it feeling fresh as you expand the pack of ants. Was short enough that it didn't outstay it's welcome and had a really clear loop, at no point was I confused as to what to do.
Awesome for a first jam! Thanks for sharing.
Nice little game. Loved the audio and graphics. Feel was really nice. A bit of preposition or narrative (just a touch) would have been nice, just so I have an idea what I am and what I'm doing in the game? Am I bat collecting berries or something? I really wasn't sure.
However, I enjoyed playing it. Not normally a fan of mazes, but the overall vibe of the game kept me playing for a few levels. Not sure if anything changes later in the game or not, but it was a chill experience,
@pickens-inc I'll ask our sound guy. I'm sure he'd be happy enough to release it
@the_noffs did you play in the web browser? the download has better perf. Although its not the most optimised game
Gorgeous, I love it. Not a game, but stunning visuals and audio.
Loved the art style, pretty fun to play too, eventually it crashed out for me sadly.
Very challenging,I eventually got to the bacon level, but gave up when I failed. It was very fun, but a checkpoint system after the 3rd game or so would have helped a lot. Fun entry!
Hi I'm Greg. Cute game, nice music!
Great mix of two genres, fun but not overly well explained at first. Would love to see this in multiplayer!
A really addictive fun little game, genuinely enjoyed playing this and ended up playing more than once. A bit of a clearer indication of the towers shooting/enemies being hit would go a long way, also there seemed to be some audio issues with the music volume. Overall, a solid submission!
Lovely little game, nice fun mechanic, could easily imagine it being scaled up post jam.
Great concept, messed with my head so badly! Loving the old school GBA vibe with the graphics.
I found this very addictive and fun, and played for far too long. A cool take on the mixing of genres. Would love to see this expanded with better AI and more powerups! Great entry, well done.
Gameover screen made me laugh, the mood was great but it got a little confusing where I was going at time. Pretty sure I ran in circles a lot.
Very chill, exactly what I needed after a long day at work haha. The art was gorgeous and I totally didn't expect a day-night cycle, was very mellow and dreamy. Mechanics were a bit lacking, but the chill time totally makes up for it. Solid entry :)
It would have been much nicer if the intro camera pan and countdown was either a lot shorter, or didn't play on reset. I ended up giving up on the shooting level because of having to sit through that scene.
Fantastic environment and great use of the theme, the music gave a lovely vibe and I thoughtit was great how you typed to use the menus.
Really nicely put together, the entire audio was really good. It felt like a lot of work went into all the various tracks that made up the frequencies. Visually it was great too, felt like a solid game.
Overall I enjoyed it, not exactly my type of game, but I appreciated the thought that went into it and following along with the story in the emails added a lot too!
The overall vibe and artstyle was great, very zen and chill little game. I noticed you added "Play some chill music", it would have been nice if some chill music was included haha.
Enjoyed it, definetly got a little boring at times on some of the longer stretches, but being a gamejam and all I can't complain much. Would play a full version of this on my ipad or something on a day I want to de-stress.
Realy slick and very nicely put together. I do love these sorts of games so it was nice to play around with for a while. Obviously more features and types of connections/junctions would have been nice, but the jam version was solid as an experience! I didn't hear any audio in the game, some music would have gone a long way. Nice job!
Nice little spin on a tower defence game, my biggest feedback is that it seemed to take a long time to get the scrap to get other towers, would have been nice if that came in a bit faster so I felt like I had more stuff to build. Also would have been good to see what the stats of the towers were so I could make more of a choice prior to building it.
Overall, was a nice and simple little fun game. Moving around the signal points gave me purpose beyond standing there like in a lot of tower defense games.
Really well put together, very simple but incredibly effective design throughout for all the visuals.
In general I enjoyed the game, but the second time I died to the monster, I gave up. Maybe if it wasn't so aggressive the first time you see it and ramps up over time?
The only major thing missing was some music or additional ambience, I think there is a lot you could have done there, but it's all polish. Baseline is amazing, really cool idea, very well executed. Great work.
Was a nice spin on the theme. I do feel at times the beeping wasn't massively helping me and I ended up searching manually for the end of the level. The trauma chasing you was nice, didn't feel overly oppressive, but also still stressed me when it got close!
Reminded me of keep talking and nobody explodes. Very fun game, the addition of the radio frequency helped add a lot of tension. However, it was a bit clunky, in particular moving speech along, it would have been nice to maybe scroll through recieved messages or allow the player to speed up them coming in?
Either way, I enjoyed the tension and overall vibe. Great work!
Graphics were great, would have been nice if the echolocation did more. I feel I could see pretty much everything in the environment without it. Unless there is some niche to it that I never stumbled across like finding hidden items.
I did enjoy playing it, in fact I played through twice as I lost the fight at the end the first playthrough. However, I would have liked to have a use for mana and I found a sword that didn't actually help in the final fight. The physical dice was cool in the fight, but it did feel as though the entire game basically wound up as a coin toss towards the end.
The story was cool and the mood was great. I enjoyed it, would have loved to see more.
